Lately, the government and the top banks of Australia have been pushing for the eradication of payments by cash, leaving phone apps alone, and possibly a medical implant as well.
Tumblr media
I have fought against it as best I can, buy there's not much I can do.
It's illegal to have large amounts of cash, and self defense is a crime, so storing at home is not really an option. Besides, I am a disabled pensioner, and the government decided long ago that going through the bank is mandatory.
Covid was the best opportunity they ever had to eliminate personal freedom - I mean, to force everyone to use insecure apps on insecure phones that had insecure operating systems on insecure hardware.
There were scandal when apps were exposed data harvesting, accessing information they didn't have the rights to, and even hacking the microphone and camera of the phone.
https://www.consumerreports.org/electronics-computers/privacy/how-to-protect-yourself-from-camera-and-microphone-hacking-a1010757171/
But the push to do the thing was relentless. You can't stop progress! Nobody else is complaining, the bank told me.
Except people do complain, helpless and hopeless. I worked in tech support, and would hear all day long the agony of those whose assets were cleaned out, and that was in the days of internet banking, when the scammer call centers of India were just a sparkle in Satan's Eye.
You see, the reason banks existed was that they took money in exchange for the service of PROTECTION.
Now, they take your money, and if you get robbed, that's a YOU problem.
And the government is backing them up. Remember the GFC, when most governments expressed their hatred of capitalism by backing banks no matter how badly they embezzled customers?
Tumblr media
The Bank and the State had merged.
Mussolini's vision had succeeded.
Fascism took a century, but it in the end, it won. But I am not sure even the 1930s fascists could see this coming.

I think about the phones that were given out at the Olympics. And just out of curiosity, I looked at what phones were given to participants of the 2012 Olympics in London, most closest to their era. I can imagine how Art and Patrick played with these phones, making a review despite the fact that they literally have the same phones (there are some drawings on the back of the phones, but I don’t really understand how it's determined who gets which phone, to choose from or randomly?)
Although I think Patrick was a iphone baby, and he would have an iPhone 4
Bold of you to assume that I wouldn't get lost after reading a single sentence. I had no idea these were even a thing tbh. 😭😭😭 And don't even get me started on iPhones, no no no, I'm an android girlie.
But I think if teenage Art and Patrick were given free phones, they would exploit that possession in so many ways. I'm imagining them discovering that the camera can do panorama photos as well and then taking the silliest wobbly pictures of people mid-step and having such a blast.
The storage would be full, downloading countless of apps that their old phones didn't support. Probably grinding Plants vs Zombies instead of practicing or abusing their Pou. They'd make twitter accounts as well, naming themselves cummaster69 and massiveblondiecock, and then fake beef with each other, one of them supporting the phenomenal player Patrick Zweig, the other one deeply devoted to the ever so sweet Art Donaldson, doing their best to go public and see which one of them do people like more. (Patrick deletes his account after discovering Art is the more beloved one)
And if they get really lucky, they send a meme to Roger Federer via Bluetooth, giggling like two school girls when they meet him by the courts. Like they would literally be behaving like children.

I feel like starting a fight ._.
Apple or Android?
maybe android? In terms of camera, apple takes the win, there are Android that have good cam quality like the Samsung s series, if apps are essential for you it's better to have Android. Though Apple has the fastest chip, and a good camera, the downside of Apple is their products aren't durable compared to Android. I think if you're looking for a budget-friendly gadget it's best to buy Android because of its affordability. And Android is more customizable than IOS! So I think Android is better ^___^ (I yap too much T___T)

JSAUX Nylon Braided Cords (Micro USB/Lighting) - Part 2 (second half recorded)(final) (April. 6th, 2024)
No need for another “On This Day” throwback post.
Hey guys. Sorry for keeping it waited on this before this month ended. So anyways, welcome back to this continuous topic review of my new braided cables. Last time where I’d covered my long awaited charging test to my Samsung Tab E device, It’s time where I also covered my recent iPad tablet device here. Thankfully at the same day after did with my Samsung device’s charging test, I’d moved quickly to another one with my next device I’d mentioned. Without further ado, onto this final part share.
⬆️ (29th Image; back in 2:41 P.M.)
Switching things right along, I’d now recorded with my recent iPad device to charge up. Since now that with my Samsung Tab E full on battery; all thanks to my new blue braided cables from the first half review, I’m able to use it to take photos with its camera app. It worked fine from years later and the image quality was good. 👍 There’s more photos from during this second half review I’d gotten. Anyways, this here’s after letting my iPad device’s battery life drained about hours later.
Tumblr media
⬆️ (30th to 31st Images; from 2:45 to 2:47 P.M.)
It’s a right time to bring my red colored braided cable in good use. I’d took it out to give a good look before plugging with my Apple charger adapter. It was exactly designed from my blue braided cables, but ya know; differently designed lighting type of cable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ (32nd and 39th Images; from 2:48 to 2:57 P.M.)
Now I’m plugging to my red colored braided cable into this Apple charger adapter. Good thing now that for the adapter stills functional, but also alongside with its original lighting cable I’d previously used for my recent iPad device in few years or less. I’ll do in comparison post with my normal cables for another time. Now back to this topic review, its charging progress had finally started when checking onto my iPad device. Looks promising that I’m good for having those new charging cables; from my mom’s help we’d ordered from in Amazon.com. 🙂👍
Tumblr media
⬆️ (40th to 41st Images; from 2:58 to 7:20 P.M.)
Hours later when checking on my iPad device’s battery, it’s now fully charged at 7:20 P.M. that sure felt this long. That’s my opinion before going to bed during nighttime. 🥱 Nevertheless, at least its get the job done with my red braided charging cable; same goes for my blue braided cable from my first half review. Though looking back its charging time from where the beginning; at 2:53 til 7:20 P.M., it took about less than 4 hours in comparison with my blue braided cable to my android tablet for 5 hours. Doesn’t matter which is charged better or quicker, I’m very glad when going through my new braided cables for the first time.
My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: ⬇️
Completed through this second/final half review, my red colored braided lighting type cable definitely fits to my recent iPad device. Though having to wait hours later for its charging test to get through before bed regardless. That being said, I did my best to get by when writing this review from it. All in all, I’m very happy for my new cable upgrades to set up. Do wish them last longer for future uses and among with my other tech items I can charge with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ (From April 6th, 2024 to May. 19th, 2024)
Before signing off, here’s another close up for both braided cables that includes putting both straps in. As for its length, this is far I can get before photo shoot on my bed. Nevertheless, I’m sure they’re both similar in length beyond their differences.
Hope you guys enjoy this final review topic I’d really wanted to have. I’ll be taking care with my new braided cables as I can, but taking a break before saving some new topics and continuing ones soon. For now, here’s to a final week til June 2024 and to everyone gotten plans for the summer. Good luck! 👋
Also, this. ⬇️

1st pic with my new iPhone taken more than 24hours after getting it. My new phone experience has mostly been bad. My main motivation for getting an iPhone was wanting a great phone camera and engaging the family hive mind aspect shared by the Apple family. My wife and two of my kids use them. However, at this point, if I could do it over, I’d simply get a high end Samsung.
The good: This pic is a masterpiece compared to what my old phone would produce and being able to track each other and each other’s devices is great. Many of the apps on my android phone ported over and all of those work fine. All the apps I had to manually download work fine as well. The phone’s battery is outstanding so far.
The bad: The cellular modem in our new phones suck!!! Even the WiFi modem is shit compared to my old Samsung A50 and her iPhone 12. I’m probably going to have to upgrade our home WiFi network but that still leaves me no fix for traveling in rural areas with weak cellular coverage. My A50 was a marvel at pulling in a signal. I have 1 bar sitting here at my house! Cellular signal was never a problem here before. I was excited to take advantage of Apple’s MagSafe technology that allows wireless charging combined with magnets that affix your phone to the charger. The idea is brilliant, the implementation is flawed for too many reasons to go into. Also, I’ll never buy a phone at Best Buy again.
Still, this pic was taken in fading light with no physical stabilization and the barn is 4 tenths of a mile away. Just wow.

switched over to my semi-dumbphone/blackberry knockoff device and I have to say that I love the feel of it and the experiences on it except that there are a couple of annoyances
The keyboard makes me type slower than the virtual keyboard because there is no swipe typing. But once I get used to it, I can type without looking at the keyboard.
The default keyboard software that came with the phone wasn't the best at autocorrect / suggestions, but I downloaded the blackberry keyboard app and it's been working great
I set the fn key to act as a ctrl key so all the ctrl+c/v/z shortcuts work. So satisfying.
no mouse cursor/trackball like BlackBerry :( you have to use the touch screen to select things, which works ok. Not the most responsive screen, I'll tell you that.
The SD card slot works great except you can't use it with dual SIM... which sucks bc I bought it specifically for the dual sim feature.
The speakers aren't that great, but there's a headphone jack, so can plug my wired earbuds in any time. Not the most powerful output and quality either if you're looking for high res stuff, but it's still good.
the vibration motor on this thing is so jarring lol. Bzzzzt! But kind of fits the theme I guess.
For some reason images in text are so bad in quality. Not sure if it's an android thing or a phone thing. I'm supposed to read the menu items on this??
Tumblr media
No 5G, if you care about that stuff
Stuck on android 11, if you care about that stuff. I do, cuz my work apps require android 12 as the minimum. There is an active lineage os development happening on it but there's a lot of bugs that make it kind of unusable. My SIM doesn't work at all on that build so I had to revert to stock.
Not the brightest screen, but it still works under direct sunlight
Ok camera, but what did you expect lol. Pics I took for reference:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
some apps don't work that great on it due to the screen size. Might work in your favor if you're trying to limit social media apps etc. But Google maps was kind of a trouble bc the bottom bars take up half the screen
You can use the keypad to scroll the screen and that's the most satisfying feeling ever.
Al in all, I love it and hate it. I don't think I can type for long on this device though before my thumbs start hurting... which is sad bc I thought I'd be able to do a lot of writing on this.

in which app do u make these hearts?🥺
https://64.media.tumblr.com/9f4c725ef1fdaf0d06848651563f1c06/cc083066424c0412-a2/s1280x1920/d7039bad1aa5711450b932ace0f7663f289ccb74.jpg
hi, anon!!!!
i actually use the photo editor that’s already pre-installed within the gallery in my phone, which is an old xiaomi, so nothing fancy, but it has these cute stickers i can put on pics, including those hearts, and then i usually just add some emojis with the text option to fill in the empty spaces ;;;;;;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
maybe you could check if your phone has something like that too!!!
if it doesn’t, i looked up some photo editor apps and tried them out to see if you can get a similar result, so here's what i got:
1. PicsArt. definitely the best out of all the ones i found, you can search for all kind of stickers and even edit them a little. a lot of them are only for the pro account, but there are also tons of free ones. the only thing i don’t like is that it has a built in AI editor and im firmly against anything AI related, but i still wanted to give you the option
Tumblr media
(i now realize this doesn’t look the best, but it’s entirely my fault for panicking when there are too many options ;;;;;;;)
2. doodle shape. there are only black and white stickers, but the hearts selection is pretty great. sometimes i actually do use this one if i want more variety
Tumblr media
3. FotoRus. the sticker selection is limited, but you can still come up with something nice
Tumblr media
4. line camera. you have to hunt down the heart stickers in different packets from the free selection, but the result can be very cute
Tumblr media
unfortunately these are all i could find, but as i said my phone is pretty old and also an android, so it’s entirely possible that there are better apps out there to do this
if anyone has any good photo editor apps to rec, please leave the name here so anon can find them!!!!!!

I was wondering if you had advice on how to communicate when we have aphantasia? I know we have an inner world but most of us can't see it or hear anything in our head except for the person directly in front, occassionally we can hear one anotherz but very rarely, and we really struggle to communicate or remember much at all (we do generally have shared memory for certain things but things still slip through the cracks)? I don't know how to communicate when we can't see or hear each other, it makes me feel like obviously I can't be a system if I can't even see or hear them or communicate
Hi! So people with aphantasia can absolutely still be systems. You don’t have to see or hear them inside to know they’re there!
For you, we think that external communication is going to be your best bet for getting in touch with each other. We’ll go ahead and link our post on establishing contact with headmates (which may help!) and we’ll reiterate some ways you can attempt communicating externally with your system. None of these methods have to involve vivid thoughts or internal communication!
1) Written notes
Writing to other headmates in a journal, document, notebook, or note app can be an extremely effective form of communication. You can ask your headmates questions, leave them drawings, notes, or reminders, or just let them know you care about them! You can try to leave your notes or journal in an obvious place, or put sticky notes around to remind the current fronter to check your journal/document/etc to keep up with communication!
2) PluralKit
With PluralKit on Discord, you can set up your own server and then create separate “accounts” that function as bots when you post. In this way, you can attribute a separate profile and icon to different headmates and allow them to communicate with each other in your own server! PluralKit truly is an amazing resource for systems, and you can learn more about implementing it for yourself by clicking here (external link goes to PluralKit.me)
3) Simply Plural
Simply Plurak is an amazing app available on both iOS and Android designed by plurals for plurals! It allows you to record your fronting history, set up headmate profiles and a system map, and communicate with each other via chat! If everyone in the system can get on board with it, it could be a great way to figure out who has fronted in the past and to leave messages for each other.
4) Videos, recordings, and voice memos
We don’t really do this, but we’ve heard of other systems who do! You can use a voice recording app or the camera on your device to record spoken messages for each other. You can make little videos, or even use sound design apps to make songs for each other!
5) Other people
Finally, if there are others in your life who know about your system, maybe you can ask them to help pass messages along. Our wife and our therapist have been amazing at helping the alters in our system communicate with each other. If one alter tells someone something important, that person can tell another alter later! Asking other people to help us stay in touch with each other has been immensely beneficial for our system. However, we only do this with folks we trust 100%. You shouldn’t be vulnerable and rely on others for help if you don’t trust them, they’ve hurt you in the past, or your headmates are uncomfortable around them!
Sorry this is long winded, but we hope it can help! We promise that you absolutely still can be a system or plural even with aphantasia. It may take some extra work or a bit of creativity to set up a good system of communication, but it definitely is possible! Good luck with everything - we believe in you and are wishing you the very best!

Point And Search
Back in the Stone Age, meaning when I was growing up and trying to do “research” for high school and university papers, the only way we could search for something was in the card catalog at a library. The Dewey Decimal System was our best friend—well, it was basically all we had—and if this handy numerical indexing didn’t help us, we were just out of luck.
Tumblr media
Of course, search is an expectation, an entitlement, of the modern era. We take it for granted. We do it so many times each and every day that we probably could not even begin to count them all.
Unknown to many people is that the first search engine of this era was not Google. It wasn’t Yahoo, Lycos, Ask Jeeves, or any of the others. No, it was Archie, launched in 1990 by a graduate student at McGill University. It motivated others to think in this realm, and a slew of competitors arrived on scene in due time. It wasn’t until 1998 that Sergey Brin and Larry Page wrote the code for what they then called Back Rub, which quickly morphed into the Google we know and love today.
You’re welcome for the trivia point. Play that card wisely at a cocktail party.
In the two-and-a-half decades since, Google emerged as the dominant force. The other early search engines have faded into the rear view, most defunct, the others seldom used. New search engines have arrived in recent years to carve small niches for themselves, but today Google maintains about a 90% share of the market. It’s the default on all Android devices, and most iPhone users don’t even realize that when they do a search in Safari on their phones, it too is accessing Google. Score one point for a virtual monopoly on mobile search.
But search has also evolved considerably through the years. Once upon a time, framing a query was critically important (it still is, but Google can read our minds better these days). You had to use quotes and plus or minus signs and a variety of delimiters. It’s much easier now, though. Google has been using AI for quite a few years now to predict what we’re going to type next. Furthermore, its ancillary services, like Google Maps and YouTube, also act as search engines. It pretty much owns the search eco-system.
The arrival of Open AI’s ChatGPT caused Google to have to put on its big boy and girl pants, because suddenly the world changed…again. ChatGPT allowed people to search in a different way, one that could write lengthy tomes about a subject. The old days, if you will, of all the blue links on a search query result page were suddenly rendered questionable at best.
Straight out of the gate, though, Google tripped and fell with its Bard me-too service, and laughably so. Its stock endured a sucker punch—albeit temporary—because of it. But they have since cleaned themselves off, and launched new AI search that piggybacks nicely with its other services, and will allow folks to get far more accurate results than just entering text. It’s only available to certain Android users right now, but I suspect it will be unleashed to the rest of us soon enough.

Think new and improved phone search, something it already had in place, either in its Google Translate app, or in its standard search engine. Heck, even reverse image search uses AI, but many people do not know about its existence, much less how and when to use it.
But now those select users will be able to circle and annotate images to seek information. They will also be able to point and click their camera in real time to do the same, much as my daughters and I did in Beijing to translate subway signage, which was critically important for us trying to get around.
So why is this important? Simple. It all amounts to the user experience (the UE) being maximized, which then will translate into ad revenues. In Q3 2023 Google’s ad revenue was $76.7 billion. Your eyeballs are important. Very very important. And if Google had not seen fit to up its game in AI search, someone else would have. After all, Microsoft owns a huge piece of OpenAI, and could quickly make its Bing search engine actually competitive with Google.
All of which means that the way we search is soon going to undergo another paradigm shift. Just like evolving from a physical card catalog system—oh, the nightmares—to online search, now we will be moving on to a more visual type of search. We do not need 2.3 million results either. We need nuanced answers to our questions.
Sure, there will always be text-based search, because some things are simply not conducive for visualization. But for those that are? This is golden. Imagine standing just south of El Capitan on US 62, and doing a search based on the amazing mountain your phone’s camera sees. You could get everything you need to know about one of the least visited National Parks in the US. No fluff, no garbage results. Just the story about that mountain and the park in which it is located.
The applications are endless. Scribble on that image if you want more granular information. Zoom in. Do whatever. Our jobs are getting easier, but since Google is a for-profit company, they still have to monetize everything they do. The ads will keep coming, but at least we will be able to search more efficiently.
Sure beats having to dive into that card catalog.
