"At school in London, I was quite chatty and sociable. I was curious about people and wanted to know their personal stories. On holiday, in seclusion in Scotland, I could become more introspective. I'd ride off into the hills for adventures on my new pony, Sugar Foot." Mary McCartney🍀🍀🖤

There's a lot of conversation about how George was the youngest Beatle and how age affected the group dynamic but in order to actually understand any of this you have to realize that spiritually and emotionally George was the middle child. And being in the exact middle of four shouldn't even be possible, but he was just that middled.
#however ringo is still the oldest#but the oldest daughter#middled is not to be confused with mid btw#the middle children will come after you if you mix those up they do NOT play about being discounted#they got too much of that at home#op#the beatles#george harrison#shitpost

Somehow that ongoing 1,500,000+ word The Beatles Paul McCartney x John Lennon fanfiction I read includes like the most absolute minuscule details of the Beatles lore, like tiny little things where I was like "that can't be real" but I looked it up and it was (IE a guy claiming to be Jesus Christ barging in on one of their recording sessions). But it does NOT include the apparently real group masturbation sessions
#Straight up learned so much abouyt The Beatles because like maybe 40% of that million plus word count was just like#a chronological recounting of Paul McCartneys actual life and like 30% of it is text from straight up actual real life interviews#placed into the fanfiction (except edited to confirm to the fanfic's Lore of Paul McCartney and John Lennon being life partners and#Lennon surviving his assassination and all of their love songs being about each other and Linda McCartney being Paul's#platonic bestfriend and surrogate Womb for their yaoi children)#Like I would 'fact check' out of curiosity and now I know way more about tge beatles than I ever wanted to#While the remaining 30% is the beautiful love story between Lennon and McCartney where they break up 30000 times and#also this fixation on Paul McCartney being repeatedly sexually assaulted throughout life including like a 12 chapter kidnapping arc#At one point they go to a museum and the fanfiction text has the first several sections of the wikipedia article for 'The Adoration of#the Mythic Lamb' pasted into it word for word.#The title is 'we can find our way somehow' and the author works that exact phrase into the text at least 30 times. I kept count#John and Paul would liek almost breakup and then when reuniting they'll be like 'but I know we can ALWAYS find our way somehow together'#also used 'kaleidoscope eyes' as a descriptor even more (think that counter got into the 40s) and constantly refers to erections as like#'it made his groin stir' 'his groin stirred' 'he felt a stirring in his groin'#You don't even understand. You don't understand. THe experience of reading all that. You don'tget it

Caught up in the thrill of celebration [after the telegram from Capitol Records about 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' being number 1 in the US], the bandmates took turns climbing onto Mal's back, with the big man parading them around the room. "They went mad!" Mal recalled. "They always act this way when anything big happens - just a bunch of kids, jumping up and down with sheer delight. Paul climbed on my back demanding a piggyback. They felt that this was the biggest thing that could have happened. Gradually, they quieted down, ordered some more drinks and sat down to appreciate fully what had happened."
On Sunday, February 9, the day of the [Ed Sullivan Show] broadcast, the band received a congratulatory telegram from Elvis and Colonel Tom Parker. Paul couldn't help ribbing Mal, saying, "You're his biggest fan, Mal, how come you didn't get a good luck telegram?" As the roadie looked on, "the whole episode ended up with the boys fighting about who was going to keep it as a souvenir."
As usual, the boys enjoyed teasing their roadie - at one point, George placed plastic cups inside Mal's shirt pockets, which the Beatle then irreverently filled with milk. In a tenderhearted moment, John announced to Mal that "after sarnies [British slang for 'sandwiches'], you are my favorite animal."
As with the other members of the entourage, Mal felt Ringo's absence [during the beginning of the '64 world tour] acutely. During their flight to the Continent, the Beatles resorted to humor, their favorite balm, to make light of their predicament. "The boys really had fun at the pilot's expense, as he didn't know Ringo wasn't present and kept asking for his autograph," Mal remembered. "George jumped in at one point and said to Paul, 'Go on, Ringo - give him your autograph. Don't be mean!'"

I do not have the time nor wish to spend the effort to do this but I think the best way to get back at really stupid fandom discourse or annoying reblogs would be to create one of those "yourfave" blogs with something that's not inherently problematic but is broadly unpopular on Tumblr (eg: golfing; liking the Beatles; and similar behaviors) and then just repeatedly making posts with that person's favorite characters. Have all questions and submissions off on the blog. do not respond to any criticism in any way other than to check the blog of the person bothering you and then make a post saying their fave golfs. Do not think about whether this is an accurate assessment of their fave; that is not the point. The point is to see if they fall for the most obvious, idiotic bait.
#also i maintain that a large number of my faves would golf and also like the beatles#cringe is dead people always mean this about children's cartoons and not White Dad Hobbies and we should weaponize this.

The Show Must Go Wrong: A collection of Paul McCartney quotes for your consideration
“That whole period weighed on me to such an extent that I even began to think it was all tied in with the idea of original sin. Even though my mum had christened me as a Catholic, we weren’t brought up Catholic, so I didn’t buy into the concept of original sin on a day-to-day basis. It’s really very depressing to think that you were born a loser.”
— Paul McCartney, The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present (2021), on “Carry That Weight”
“‘Maxwell’s Silver Hammer’ was my analogy for when something goes wrong out of the blue, as it so often does, as I was beginning to find out at that time in my life.”
— Paul McCartney, Many Years From Now (1997) by Barry Miles
Q: What scares you?
McCARTNEY: I suppose the way you can’t nail life down. You grow up thinking that if you learn enough stuff and get the right education then you’ll be able to nail life. I’ll know what’s going on. One thing you discover is that the goalposts are always changing. The rules change. The world changes. When that happens, you realize you still don’t have a clue. And it shocks you. You think, “I don’t have the information I need to deal with this.” That scares me.
VICE, A Pure Conversation with Paul McCartney, Interview by Joe Zadeh, June 13th, 2016
“It’s rather serious — life. And you can’t live as if you have nine lives. I find myself doing that often. I think everybody does, saying in his mind, ‘I’ll get it tomorrow.’ But I can’t do that anymore. Take One with the Beatles should have been like I said, with a puff of smoke and magic robes and envelopes. But we missed Take One, so now we do Take Two. And in the disappointment of Take Two — I feel I can always find something good in the bad — the good thing is that it really has made me come to terms more with my life.”
— Paul McCartney, LIFE Magazine, April 16th, 1971
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven / All good children go to heaven
“You Never Give Me Your Money” (1969)
#the rapid realization that you are in a tragedy#and it is inescapable#and maybe then it was never right#maybe it was always doomed#maybe it was dumb to think you were ever going to be ok#you may think the last quote is incongruous#but no it isn’t#the good children go to heaven#but what about the rest of us?#i.e. everyone the song is talking about#also it’s a nursery rhyme so something something loss of innocence#that last refrain#that is that saddest part of the song#by the way#my quotes#the beatles#paul mccartney
