early meeting - pm
pete mitchell x reader (she/her)
731 words
suggestive themes, maybe fluff like it's cute but not really fluff
minor top guns spoilers not proofread
this was meant to be a headcanon but here we are so it's a little less sophisticated then my other things
you liked dilfs. as your friends liked to call them. and yeah, you liked older men, but not only dads. your first boyfriend was 3 years older than you: you were 21, he was 24. your second boyfriend was 6 years older than you: your 23 self with his 29 self. and the older you became : the bigger the age gap was.
you had limits though. older than 50 was a no. but now that you were 30-ish…you could work with 60 as your limit. especially when that boy-or rather man was looking this fine, drinking his beer.
you didn’t know how old he was: but with a face and a toned body like that, that dilf can do whatever he wants to you. your friend, juliet, followed your gaze before smacking your shoulder.
“go for it, RC, saw him in the sick bay yesterday;shirtless;and if you don’t make your move, i will.”
“RC”, your call sign: standing for reverse cougar, given so nicely by Hangman and Coyote when they learned that you liked older men. and your friends doesnt have to tell you twice.
you walk towards the man, sliding your empty glass to Penny with a smile. When she follows you with her eyes; she smiles and winks at you, giving you a thumbs up.
You sit on the bar next to that mysterious and sexy man. “Penny, I’ll have whatever hottie over here is having.” Tonight’s dilf smiles, and put his phone on the counter, opening his mouth to speak up before the bell rings.
He looks around confused, and you just point the sign with your finger.
"you’re hot, but you need to learn how to read.”
“stop calling me hot and ask for my name, darlin’.
“Sure thing, what’s your name?”
“Maverick.”
You look at his jacket, and it clicks in your head. a hottie and pilot? that’s 50/50. he’s hot and older than you:great. but he’s a pilot:meh.
“oh so we’re playing with call signs, now? mine’s RC.”
"RC…?”
you wink at him before changing the subject.
“anyways, hotshot, how about you give me a name I can scream? call signs aren’t my things in bed.”
and his laugh breaks the ice finally: hopefully he ends up breaking other things, like your back, quickly enough. Seresin comes up to Maverick, patting his shoulder before thanking him for the free beers. In your mind, you note to thank him for that amazing pick up line he used on you years ago.
“alright: the name’s Pete. You need to tell me yours and what your call sign means…: I can’t be disadvantaged..”
Grabbing your stool, you drag it closer to Pete: an amazing name to moan in name, by the way, and make your knees touch as your face gets closer to his. You’re pretty sure you can count his eyelashes by now.
“It’s (Y/N) and RC stands for reverse cougar.”
He slides his card to Penny without breaking eye contact: and god, he’s so hot, and there’s only one thing you want to do right now: roam your hands on those fucking broad shoulders.
"maybe you should prove it. i know a bunch of pretty girls like you pretending to like older men when they only like 30 years old dads…"
"my roommate's not here tonight, so mine?."
your instructor was late, like you, but so weren't the worst here since he hadn't gotten here yet.
"hey, RC, great night?"
"i should give you his number: pretty sure he can give you some tips on how to make a girl cum."
you sit, fist bumps halo and phoenix, before waiting for cyclone and your teacher to enter the room. footsteps. that's all you can hear in the silent classroom.
but when you see him: you hope your teammates can't see the way your thighs involuntary press together. he looks at you, then at Rooster, who looked kind of sad or angry or who cares, and at hangman, who was just as shocked as you.
the dude who paid for his beer yesterday and whom he called grandpa was his instructor ?
the dude who fucked you so good last night and left your bed like 2hours ago is your instructor?
and when he winks at you when everyone's looking at Cyclone, you can't help but wink back. this is going to be interesting.

got autistic about warrior cats and had to make a spreadsheet
clan exclusive prefixes:
thunder (32): bay, briar, bumble, chestnut, cricket, dandelion, elder, flicker, flip, fuzzy, golden, goose, half, larch, long, lynx, moon, mumble, myrtle, pear, rook, rose, seed, snap, soot, spark, stem, sweet, thorn, thrift, thunder, tulip, weed
shadow (45): arch, badger, blaze, blizzard, bluebell, broken, brown, cinnamon, claw, cone, drift, ferret, fir, flax, flint, frond, gull, hope, jump, lavender, light, log, maggot, marigold, newt, nut, olive, pool, puddle, quiet, rat, russet, scorch, shadow, spire, stream, strike, stumpy, swamp, violet, wet, whisper, whorl, wish, yarrow
wind (25): bark, boulder, brook (HOW is that not riverclan??), brush, chive, crouch, dead, down, flail, flutter, furze, gale, heather, hickory, hill, hoot, midge, rye, sheep, slight, stork, stripe, whisker, whistle, woolly
river (27): copper, crooked, curl, cypress, duck, fog, hail, haven, hay, heavy, loud, mallow, minnow, misty, mossy, otter, perch, pike, primrose, river, rush, shimmer, shy, sneeze, soft, swan, vixen, wave
sky (26): bounce, brave, creek, curly, ebony, fin, fallen, fawn, fennel, fidget, fringe, gravel, hatch, kite, lichen, mistle, mottle, nectar, odd, parsley, ridge, root, sandy, sharp, shining, snip
sky again but the daylight warriors in a separate category (5): bella, billy, harry, harvey, riley (31 total with regular skyclan)
notes:
-windclan has the fewest named cats of any clan, being one fewer than skyclan
-to no one's surprise, thunderclan has the absolute fucking most cats
-shadowclan is the only clan to not have a 'robin'
-there are 3 separate seedpelts. all of which are from thunderclan.
-sky and wind are both used as prefixes in clans that aren't their respective clan (skyheart rc & windflight tc)
-surprisingly shadowclan has the most exclusive prefixes! some of these are because of stuff like rat and claw but some of them are cool like gull
possible errors:
to make things easier because i really need to sleep and shouldn't spend 2 hours on a project that is going to gain me nothing but autism points, i just copied the entire list of each clan category on the wiki and put it into a spreadsheet and compared the lists. this means that cats that switched clans, like yellowfang, may appear in multiple clans. where cats switched clans i tried to remember to put them only in their birth clan. there also could be errors in the wiki's categorization that i didn't catch such as cats that do not appear on the list (lioneye, for example, didn't appear on shadowclan's list)
#wc#warriors#warrior cats#this took about an hour and a half in its entirety#i knew i wouldn't be able to sleep until i finished it

Tell me about planes if you want
Oh I certainly will!!! It's taken me a while to answer this between working, not having access to the laptop with these pictures, slow wifi causing the upload process to be incredibly slow, and trying not to get too carried away with descriptions and blabbing forever about aircraft so I hope you can forgive me for taking longer than I'd like to respond. I was really excited to get this ask hehe, it's my life's biggest passion!
I could go on forever and ever about planes so I'll just show you some pictures of planes my sister and I have taken on vacation with some descriptions (and a special picture at the end for you!) ❤️
Here's an 80-year-old Beech 18 doing something it's not supposed to- aerobatics! This specific aircraft was used as a navigational trainer during WWII, now it's doing gentle aerobatics at airshows around the US. The plane is named "Magic by Moonlight" but is also called "Miss Ellie" and the nose are features a pinup elephant on a moon.
Because of this, Matt Younkin (the owner and pilot of this plane) likes to do part of his routine to the music from the 1941 Dumbo, including making the aircraft "dance" to "Pink Elephants on Parade" and it's really fun to watch. He also does a fantastic night airshow routine where he takes off with all of his lights on but then turns his lights off shortly after takeoff so that you can't see him. A few minutes later in the pitch dark you can hear the Beech 18 diving in towards the crowd as he suddenly turns on the lights and the overture from Phantom Of The Opera begins blaring at the same time. It's such a cool thing to see
Skip Stewart pilots his aerobatic biplane "Prometheus 2" at knife edge to cut a ribbon (a bit smoky due to all the show smoke in the air)
Here's a B-2 bomber I got to see. Certainly looks like a ufo!
A fantastic picture of the US Navy Blue Angels in their F/A-18 Hornets as they pass overhead. One of my favorite pictures my sister has taken! When doing formation flying the Blue Angels fly with their wingtips just 18 inches apart from each other's jet
The Polaris Team passing overhead with a MiG-29 leading two Alpha Jets and two L-39s. It was amazing seeing the MiG-29 considering there are only two airworthy in the US and it's one of my favorite planes, but also a little off feeling considering Ukraine is fighting for their lives against Russia with this same kind of aircraft
Here's a super cool picture of shockwaves coming off of an F/A-18F Super Hornet. The pilot of this jet is a woman!
Here's a shitty highlighting by me of the shockwaves
Another shockwave by the F/A-18F Super Hornet
Aaaand another shitty highlighting job by me
Here's a more visible shockwave manifesting as vapor on this EA-18G Growler. Though the Growler looks exactly like the Super Hornet (there are actual minor differences in appearance), the Growler is meant for electronic warfare (EA=Electronic Attack) while the Super Hornet is meant for fighting and attacking (F/A=Fighter/Attacker). The Growler can certainly still defend itself in a dogfight if it needed to though.
These are both newer versions of the F/A-18 Hornet, which is the oldest of the three. The Hornet is slightly smaller with a few noticeable differences in appearance. Fun fact about the jet pictured above: it's from the same squadron that flew the cast of Top Gun: Maverick and I actually got to see one buzzing around the town when I was in Oak Harbor, WA a few years ago!
Here's a cool picture of an F-35A Lightning II flying through pyro smoke with the afterburner lit and vapor trails coming off the wingtips. The pilot of this jet is also a woman! The F-35 family gets its name from the P-38 Lighting, a WWII fighter aircraft.
Here's the weapons bay to the F-35A Lightning II. Since it's a stealth aircraft, it stores its weapons internally to reduce their RCS (radar cross section) and appear smaller on radar. The diamond looking object under the nose there is its targeting system for both air and ground targets. All F-35s have the capability of allowing the pilot to see through the aircraft! There are multiple cameras around the jet that the pilot can use with their helmet to see all around the aircraft
The F-35C Lightning II at sunset with full afterburner and wingtip vapors. The C model of the F-35 is for the Navy, the B is for the Marines, and the A is for the Air Force. Only the B and C models are capable of vertical takeoffs and landings and hovering. If you compare the C model here to the A model above, you can see that the C model has a longer wingspan and lines on the wings towards the wingtips that can fold up for more storage space on aircraft carriers! Fun fact about this pilot: His callsign is "Jiggly"
The F-22 Raptor with vapor forming around it as it pulls hard away from the crowd. The canopy has a golden tint because of a special layer of radar absorbing material to help reduce its RCS. The Raptor is a stealth fighter and arguably/potentially the most capable and deadly fighter aircraft in the world, only owned by the US and never exported for allied countries to use. It has vectoring thrust which means that both engine nozzles can move up and down to point the exhaust in different directions and allow the aircraft to maneuver better as the thrust moves with the control inputs of the pilot.
The Raptor is so maneuverable that it isn't allowed to demonstrate its full capabilities at airshows and even with allied forces when doing military exercises with them! It can turn on a dime, fall like a leaf, slide backwards onto its tail in the air, and do a backflip (these aren't the actual terms but they're great descriptions lol). It's fun to watch it fall like a leaf because not only is it memorizing to watch a jet maneuver like that because it's just insane, but the horizontal stabilizers move a lot so it looks like the Raptor is flapping its tail hehe.
Here's a good video on the maneuvers this jet can pull off and here too. This guy has fantastic camera stability so it looks like a video game and has insane quality! It's just truly amazing what this aircraft can do, and I got a little carried away talking about it because it's my favorite modern fighter jet
The silhouette of the F-22 against orange thunderheads and pyro smoke. This is one of my favorite pictures my sister has taken!
The USAF Heritage Flight is performed at nearly every US airshow and features one or more modern USAF fighter or attack aircraft with one or more warbirds (vintage aircraft that are retired from military service) from different eras. This flight features an F-16 Fighting Falcon/Viper (more commonly called the Viper) painted like a black snake/viper with two WWII fighter aircraft. The lead plane (green) is the P-38 Lighting, and off to its left is the P-51 Mustang.
The P-51 is arguably the most famous warbird ever, and was very impactful during WWII. Hermann Göring, Commander of the Luftwaffe during WWII, saw P-51s escorting bombers over Berlin and allegedly said "When I saw Mustangs over Berlin, I knew the jig was up." This P-51 is painted after Capt. William T. Whisner's P-51D "Moonbeam McSwine" and has a unique blue nose and tail of the 352nd Fighter Group. And this was my first time getting to see a P-38 fly so I was ecstatic to see it! This specific one is painted like Robin Olds' P-38 during WWII, named "Scat III" and he has named all of the aircraft he flew throughout WWII and Vietnam different numberings of "Scat"
The silhouette of an F-22 forming up on three P-51s in preparation of the Heritage Flight in front of thunderheads
The USN has their own version of a heritage flight called the Navy Legacy Flight. Here an F4U-4 Corsair named "Korean War Hero" (more on that later!) leads an F-35C off to its left, an EA-18G off to its right, and an AD-5W(EA-1E) Skyraider behind it. This version of the Skyraider is an electronic warfare aircraft with three seats compared to the typical ground attack model that only had one seat
A front view of another Legacy Flight with a T-28 Trojan in the lead, two EA-18Gs on the sides, and an FG-1D Corsair in the back. All of them, except for the Corsair, have their tail hooks down. This view provides a great look at the unique wings on the Corsair, which earned the nickname "Bent-Wing Bird" due to its inverted gull wings
(Excuse the poor quality of this picture it was taken years ago on a shitty phone) This here is a B-29 Superfortress bomber named "Bockscar" and is one of the most historic aircraft I have had the pleasure (or perhaps displeasure in this case) of getting to see. On August 9th of 1945, this exact aircraft dropped an atomic bomb named "Fat Man" on the Japanese city of Nagasaki. I was in awe of getting to see such a historically important aircraft, but also saddened by the mission it took a part of
This here is a B-29 named "Doc" after being a part of a squadron called the "Seven Dwarfs" that were used on non-combat missions to test radio systems. There are currently only two airworthy B-29s in the world, and I have been fortunate enough to see both of them flying in formation!
This is a B-17 Flying Fortress, one of the most well known bombers of WWII. This one is named "Aluminum Overcast" and is one of roughly 7 that are still flyable. The B-17 got the name "Flying Fortress" due to the 13 machine guns it has mounted around the aircraft. Here "Aluminum Overcast" has is bomb bays open for a mock bombing run. I have been inside of but have not flown on "Aluminum Overcast" :]
Here is another famous aircraft, though not as well known, that I have been incredibly fortunate to see. This plane is a C-47 named "That's All, Brother" and is the very plane that lead the D-Day airborne invasion. I got to see the progress of the restoration project of the aircraft up to its airworthiness in 2018 so getting to see it fly again was pretty amazing. You can actually purchase a flight on this aircraft, like many other warbirds, and tell people you rode on the plane that led the D-Day invasion!
Fun fact: This aircraft was restored with such incredible accuracy that if you get up close to it you will see that the D-Day stripes painted on it are sloppy and uneven, as they would have been back in 1943 as they were painted on in a rush before the invasion. It's also missing the open quotation on the nose art on the left side of the aircraft (seen here) as evident from pictures back in WWII
The lighting isn't the best in this one, but this group is called Tora! Tora! Tora! and they reenact the attack on Pearl Harbor. Multiple aircraft fly around low to the ground and close to the crowd as they pretend to do strafing runs, dive bomb attacks, and torpedo attacks. An air raid siren blares while near constant explosions are going off on the ground and an American aircraft chases one of the Japanese planes around.
Fun Fact: Though this group consists of three different Japanese aircraft types, the A6M Zero (fighter), the B5N Kate (torpedo bomber), and the D3A Val (dive bomber), all of these aircraft are actually American T-6 Texans and BT-13 Valiants that are highly modified to look like Japanese aircraft. Only 5 Zeroes are currently airworthy, with only two being original and the rest are replicas. There are currently no Vals or Kates airworthy
This is a special and rare flight of aircraft called "Flight Of The Cats" which consist of four Grumman aircraft. The aircraft manufacturing company Grumman is known for naming many of their aircraft after big cats back in the day, hence the name of this formation flight. The formation flight used to be performed at airshows in the past with an F-14 Tomcat, but since none are left flying in the US it is now performed with Grumman's WWII and Korean War fighter aircraft.
The F7F Tigercat leads an F8F Bearcat (off its left wing), an F6F Hellcat (off its right wing), and an F4F Wildcat brings up the rear. Both the F7F and F8F arrived too late to see combat in WWII so they were used elsewhere. The F7F was used for a short time as a night fighter in the Korean War, and the F8F never saw combat in the US but instead was imported to France where they first saw combat. The F7F above is named "Here Kitty, Kitty!"
The F4F and F6F both served in WWII and were some of the most impactful aircraft of the war in the Pacific. The Hellcat boasts an impressive 19:1 kill ratio, one of the highest of any aircraft of WWII. The Hellcat above served two tours in WWII, but it is unknown if it saw combat. It has the name "Death N' Destruction"
The F4F was one of the first true USN fighters of WWII and held its own until the more advanced F6F and F4U Corsair arrived. The Wildcat above was ditched in Lake Michigan during WWII during a training mission before being restored into its current airworthy state. This F4F is painted in early war colors, hence the "Meatball" on the insignia, and is painted after Edward "Butch" O'Hare's Wildcat. Chicago's O'Hare Airport is named after him, and you can find an F4F painted like the one above on display in Terminal 2 in honor him.
Fun Fact: The F6F, F7F, and F8F all have the same type of engine (it's also the same engine the Corsair has). And though these aircraft have radial engines with a prop and not jet engines, they are still incredibly loud! Radial engines also have a distinct sound compared to an inline engine. Radial engines have more of a growl to them and sound thunderous in the air and they sound like they're chugging on the ground, while an inline sounds more high pitched and smooth. I think out of all the cats above, the F7F sounds the best due to it being a twin-engined aircraft
And here it is, my favorite plane of all time-the F4U Corsair. The Corsair is a powerhouse of an aircraft, and was one of the most lethal aircraft during WWII. It was the first single-engine US plane to reach over 400 mph flying level thanks to it having the largest engine and prop on a single-engine aircraft at the time. Later models of the Corsair has a top speed of 470mph, which is faster than the modern A-10 Thunderbolt II, and could dive up to 550 mph. It had an 11:1 kill ratio and served not only in WWII but also in the Korean War and performed multiple roles from ground attack to night fighting. It also served multiple allied countries during WWII and after, still even seeing combat in different wars up through the 1960s.
This specific Corsair is an F4U-4 named "Korean War Hero" and like the name suggests it served in the Korean War and is an actual combat veteran. "Korean War Hero" is my favorite Corsair, having watched it at airshows since I was a little kid up until now where I've gotten to see it yearly since 2017 (not 2020 though). Fun fact: After finding a picture of my younger self next to "Korean War Hero" at an airshow many years ago, I decided to take my senior pictures in front of it :]
The Corsair has a unique design to it, which is its inverted gull wings. The wings are bent to allow for shorter landing gear while still providing clearance for the massive 13ft 2in propeller diameter. Like I mentioned before, this earned it the nickname "Bent-Wing Bird" and gave it an unforgettable silhouette/outline. The Corsair also had the nicknames of "U-Bird" for the wing shape, "Angel of Okinawa" for the important role it played in The Battle of Okinawa, and "The Hog" for its size.
The most famous nickname of the Corsair though is a nickname the Japanese gave to it during WWII, "Whistling Death." It got this nickname because of the loud whistling noise it made as it dived down to attack. The noise is made by wind rushing at high speeds through the multi-purpose air cooling slots located at the leading edge of the inboard part of the wings
Here's an FG-1D Corsair with its wings folded up. US Naval and Marine aircraft typically have the ability to fold their wigs or wingtips closer to the fuselage to allow for more space on aircraft carriers. The Corsair's wings happen to fold upwards. And now you may be wondering (and I have no clue if you are, I doubt anyone is even reading this at this point I've blabbed on for too long lol) "Pine, why does this Corsair have different numbers and letters in front of it?" Well, that's because this Corsair was built by a different company!
The F4U Corsair was originally built by Vought, while the FG-1A & FG-1D Corsair was built by Goodyear, and even a third company, Brewster, made the aircraft and called it the F3A-1 & F3A-D Corsair. Due to the high demand of more Corsair production, Vought licensed Brewster and Goodyear to also make Corsairs, hence why they have different numbers in front of them despite them being the same kind of aircraft as Vought made. Though Vought continued to make multiple variations of the Corsair, Brewster and Goodyear only made models based off of Vought's F4U-1 Corsair.
Every single aircraft up to our current times have extra numbers and letters to mark what variation they are, I have just left those out for every aircraft above, besides the Corsair, to make it potentially less confusing. Like the P-51 I have on here is technically a P-51D but again, I don't want to make things more complicated. Every military aircraft has a letter before their model number to specify what type it is, like an F-22 is a Fighter (they used P for pursuit back in WWII and some later model aircraft during the 50s before changing it to F for fighter), B is for bomber, A is for attack, H is for helicopter, and you can guess the rest from there. Sometimes there's more than one, like the F/A-18 Hornet. And every aircraft has their variation letter after their model number, like the P-51D.
So, why did WWII Naval/Marine aircraft have more numbers and letters to their name compared to USAAC/USAAF aircraft at the time and modern military aircraft? During WWII, the Navy just decided to make it more confusing. The Navy was using "P" for Patrol back then, so they couldn't use "Pursuit" like the USAAC/USAAF was using for their fighter aircraft. So, they decided to go with "F" for Fighter. Then there was a model number after it, and after that was the aircraft's manufacturing identification letter. Finally at the end, there would be a letter and potentially another number to specify what variation it was.
For example with an F4U-4 Corsair it would be read as F=Fighter, 4=The model, U=Vought, and 4= what variation it was. So it's a "Fighter model 4, made by Vought, variant number 4." The Navy had a weird thing too with not having some aircraft manufacturers' identification letter match their starting letter, like "U" stands for Vought. Some aircraft manufacturers even used the same identification letter.
A nice picture of a Corsair at sunset. This here is my happy place, being amongst warbirds at sunset. I love aviation for its history, so getting to walk around aircraft that have had significant roles in history alongside some that are actual combat veterans that have been restored and still fly today leave me in awe.
And anon since you asked me about planes, I am going to give you a special picture.....
Tah-dah, it's me posing in front of an FG-1D Corsair! You can't tell because of the poor quality, but I am wearing a Corsair hat and my shirt has the same Corsair that I am posing in front of on it. If you or anyone else read my plane madness, thanks! ❤️
#anon you have no idea how happy this made me#I have sooo many more pictures and videos and stories that I had to leave out but man oh man do I love planes#anon#aircraft

friends! in my latest act of hubris, i have attempted to out-nerd Nastya’s actor by drawing (and writing!) more in-depth schematics of the aurora!
(i also rushed to complete these by today so that they’d fall under The Aurora prompt in @mechanismszine ‘s Mechtober prompt list! i hope that counts, even though i’ve been working on this for nearly a month now, ajdhsk)
sorry if the formatting of them is a little weird? i’ve literally never done this before.
i have about 2k words worth of notes on all of the aurora, under the cut!
the measurements that i lay out here are rough, and because of aurora's curving, imprecise. the numbers are taken from each room's longest, widest, and highest accessible point. (EXCEPT for FLOOR 1, where i show you the dimensions from the flat floor, as well as from the ceiling.) these are simply the dimensions that i based their side and location and size off of.
the walls (containing insulation and structural girding) between the rooms range from 6 inches to 1 foot in thickness, which is why some of the numbers are close to being round.
- all around her hull (except for open areas), she is surrounded by 2.5 ft thick shielding and armor. this was not accounted for in my calculations or sketches. just imagine it.
- some of the walls are made of flesh. some have teeth. good luck guessing which ones, because i'm not saying a word.
RCS (Steering Thrusters) - [39 ft wide, 39 ft high, 19 ft long] accessible through Avionics.
Flight Deck - [64 ft wide, 19 ft high, 19 ft long] accessible via the Bridge. temperature control and airflow comes from slotted grates on upper wall against the Bridge, instead of the ceiling.
Bridge - [99 ft wide, 29 ft high, 29 ft long]. accessible through Floor 4 hallways.
Avionics - [64 ft wide, 26.5 ft high, 19 ft long] accessible via Flight Deck, using a ladder. temperature control and airflow comes from slotted grates on upper wall against Life Support, not the ceiling.
Life Support - [99 ft wide, 21.5 ft high, 29 ft long] accessible via Floor 3 hallways. center for temperature and oxygen control, where said systems (located within walls) are sent commands and monitored.
Waste Disposal - [14 - 19.5 ft high, 96.5 ft wide, 49 ft long] accessible via Floor 2 hallways. pipes strewn throughout the ship within walls and floors lead here. waste is shot out of the bottom of the ship. temperature control and airflow comes from slotted grates on upper wall against Floor 2, instead of the ceiling.
Artillery (Armory) - [79 ft wide at floor - 101.5 ft wide at ceiling, 15 ft high, 49 ft long]. accessible via Floor 1 Left Hallway using small staircase, as well as each Storage Bay. - the "guns" here are laser guns that fire Meson Beams, alongside missile launchers, and... regular guns? panels on the bottom of the ship retract, and guns lower themselves to take aim and fire. temperature control comes through the ceiling, instead of the floor.
- part of the floor is flattened by 7.5 feet high girding-supported floor. temperature control comes vent through the ceiling, instead of the floor.
Cargo Bay - [70 ft wide at floor - 124 ft wide at ceiling, 21.5 ft high, 59 ft long] aka Storage Bays 1, 2, and 3, which are 22.3 ft wide each, with 6 inch thick walls on either side of Bays 1 and 3, creating 1 foot thick walls on either side of Bay 2. accessible via Exit / Entrance Bay. floor is flattened by 15 feet high girding-supported floor.
Entrance / Exit Bay - [84 ft wide at floor - 124 ft wide at ceiling, 21.5 ft high, 49 ft long] six haulers for travel are stored here. no, i don't know how big the haulers are. there is a 40 ft wide, 15 ft high panel that retracts on the Left side for outside access. A 85 foot (26 meter) long ramp extends from that panel area to connect with the ground for planetside exit/reentry. accessible via Floor 1 Left Hallway. floor is flattened by 15 feet high girding-supported floor.
Airlocks - [7 feet diameter circles] 4 airlocks, stacked 2 by 2. 7 ft wide chambers protrude from the lower Right side of the ship, where depressurization happens. accessible via Exit / Entrance Bay. nastya :(
Brig - [79 ft wide - 119 ft wide at ceiling, 21.5 ft high, 39 ft long] 12 cells, 6 on each side. cells are 10 ft wide, 15 ft high, 10 ft long. Left wall near first cell row curves inward to to give room to Left Staircase. accessible via Floor 1 Left Hallway, Left staircase, and Right staircase. floor is flattened by 10 feet high girding-supported floor.
Engines - [116.5 ft wide, 101.5 ft high, 39 ft long] accessible via Floor 1 Left Hallway, and Floor 2-5 Pre-Engine hallways, where a door in the middle of the hallway leads to a small landing. a ladder stretches the entire height of the wall against the hallways, allowing access to the structural girders on different levels. temperature control and airflow comes through the ceiling, instead of the floor
- structural girders suspend and support the engines, both higher up and lower. to access said engines, one can either climb, or use a wheelchair-compstible Cool Efficent Spaceship Lift. nastya has fallen off of the girders many times.
- powerful engines supply electricity to the ship, and power the Artillery's guns.
Artificial Magnetic Field - [] a heavy, Xenon-powered reactor resides in the Engines to create this field, protecting the aurora and her crew from the radiation of space.
Sun-Sail - [387.3 meters wide, 387.3 meters long. in total, 150,000 meters squared of area] while this may seem excessive in size, it's necessary to protect aurora from the harmful, fast-traveling debris of space. biomechanical semi-sentient spiders maintain this web of metallic fibers. it can collapse and be angled.
Propulsion Chamber - [86.5 ft wide, 71.5 ft high, 29 ft long] accessible via Engines, using a ladder. temperature control and airflow comes from slotted grates on upper wall against the Engines, instead of the ceiling.
- 4 VASIMR engines (electromagnetic plasma thrusters), stacked in a 2 by 2 square, rocket the Aurora through space at 6,706.17 mph (aka, very fast!). they are powered using Xenon. the floor is flattened for easier support of VASIMR systems.
Tereshkova's Chamber - [9 ft wide, 9 ft high, 9 ft long] previously accessible through Propulsion Chamber. oxygen and thermal regulation come from inner-room systems. very dusty.
Floors 1-6 - [] 5 ft. of space between each floor, as well on Floor 6 ceiling, is allocated for vents, air ducts, and pipes. vents control temperature within the ship, air ducts pump oxygen, pipes send water and drain waste. vents connect to rooms though the floor, airducts connect through the ceiling.
- However, there is only 4 ft. of room for such systems, as 6 inches on the top and bottom of those 5 ft. are allocated for insulation / girding.
Floors 2-6 Main Hallway - [30 ft wide, 15ft high (varies on Floor 6), 160 ft long (145 ft long on Floor 6)] ends at Bridge and Engines.
Floors 2-6 Minor Hallways - [15 ft high (10 ft high on Floor 6), 10 ft long. Width varies]
Floors 2-6 Outer Hallways - [9.5 ft wide, 10 ft high. Length varies] end at Bridge and Engines. and all have flat ceilings except for Floor 6. for Floor 6 Outer Hallways, airflow comes through the floor, instead of the ceiling.
Pre-Engine hallways - [15 ft high, 20 ft long. Width varies]
Staircases - [10 ft wide, 120 ft high total, 10 ft long] extend from top of ship, to either end of the Brig.
- Note for staircases, ladders, etc: i know i didn’t draw them in the schematics, but please know that accessibility aids, such as chair lifts and ramps, have been installed in the aurora where necessary.
Floor 1 Left Hallway - [15 ft wide, 21.5 ft high. Indeterminable length] exists beside Cargo Bay and Brig, ends at Artillery and Engines.
Basic rooms - [] the ceiling of Floor 6 is curving upwards. there are 58 rooms in total.
Basic rooms, Row 1, Floor 6 - [] unfortunately, this row doesn't exist, having been overridden by the ceiling and outer halls.
Basic rooms, Row 2, Floor 6 - [14 ft wide, 12.5 ft high, 19 ft long]
Basic rooms, Row 3, Floor 6 - [19 ft wide, 15 ft high, 19 ft long]
Basic rooms, Row 4, Floor 6 - [19 ft wide, 15 ft high, 19 ft long]
Basic rooms, Row 5, Floor 6- [14 ft wide, 12.5 ft high, 19 ft long]

Basic rooms, Row 3, Floor 5 - [34 ft wide, 15 ft high, 19 ft long]
Basic rooms, Row 4, Floor 5 - [34 ft wide, 15 ft high, 19 ft long]
Basic rooms, Row 5, Floor 5 - [31.5 ft wide, 15 ft high, 19 ft long]

Basic rooms, Row 3, Floor 4 - [41.5 ft wide, 15 ft high, 19 ft long]
Basic rooms, Row 4, Floor 4 - [41.5 ft wide, 15 ft high, 19 ft long]
Basic rooms, Row 5, Floor 4 - [39 ft wide, 15 ft high, 19 ft long]

Basic rooms, All Rows, Floor 3 - [] have the same measurements as Floor 4.
***
Basic rooms, Row 1, Floor 2 - [29 ft wide, 15 ft high, 19 ft long]

i have a confession. i have no idea how the O’Neill ring in Nastya’s actors drawings would work in tandem with the aurora. that design is so impractical that i didn’t know what to do with it. i couldn't see any way for the crew to get into or out of it. i’m really very sorry.
BUT! i have a solution! presenting: The Gear!
The Gear - [95.4 meters diameter, 30 ft high in total] spins counter-clockwise. starting from the Top Right room, and going left, the rooms belong to (Jonny, Nastya, Ashes, Ivy, Brian, Toy Soldier, Tim, Marius, Raphaella, Unused Room). a magnetic drive, 10 feet wide, 15 feet high, and 15 feet long, placed between Jonny and the Unused room, spins the O'Neill ring at 22.369 mph.
- gravity level in the rooms is at 0.2 (compare to moon gravity of 0.166g, and Earth gravity of 1g)
- only place "on" the ship that has any gravity, as the main body of aurora has Zero G.
The Gear halls - [19 ft wide. 30 ft high in total, 20 ft high of actual room] 5 ft. of height allocated for airducts and oxygen systems on the top, and another 5 ft. for vents and thermal systems on the bottom. 6 inch thick insulation/girding on either side of the 5 ft. means 4 ft. of height available for vents and airducts.
- (please know that the "top" and "bottom" are actually the “walls”, and the wall opposite the innermost wall is actually the floor. this is due to centrifugal force)
The Gear rooms - [19 ft wide. 30 ft high in total, 20 ft high of actual room. 39 ft long] same air duct/vent allocation as The Gear Halls, and same 6 inch insulation thickness for it. trapdoors along the floor give access to each room, where a ladder built into the wall descends to the floor.
Stability Tube leading up to and supporting The Gear - [50 ft high, 20 ft diameter] positioned between ft. 150 - 170 of the aurora. drilled in securely to the top of the aurora. climbable via Cool Spaceship Elevator That Solves Any Implausibilities. top 30 ft. of the tube is spinning in time with The Gear.
- two 10 ft diameter tunnels on top of the aurora, connected from each staircase, lead diagonally to the Stability Tube. 10 ft of clearance between The Gear and the tunnels.
Liftoff Prongs - [108.75 ft wide from farthest ends, 105 ft (32 meters) long. Indeterminable "height"] 4 prongs are dispersed evenly around the bottom of the aurora, placed at roughly 52 feet (16 meters) into the end of the ship.
- these prongs were originally used to hold her upright during takeoff, but have since become unusable with the weight of The Gear. they've been kept for sentimentality's sake at the request of aurora.
Gribblies (Nastya's fault) - [] this is probably referring to a "greeble". from wikipedia, it's explained as being "prominent detailing added to the surface of a larger object that makes it appear more complex". that being said... fuck it, gribblie cam.
q & a -
- q: why are there so many rooms?
a: for scooby-doo esque antics, of course.
- q: where are the little propeller-like things that were on nastya's actor's drawing?
a: sometimes, things that are cute are impractical. i'm sorry. (i'm not. that would have been hell to incorporate.)
- q: wouldn't there be some specific rooms, among the Basic Rooms? like a garden/botanical room, or a kitchen? carmilla's lab? raphaella's lab? a med-bay?
a: this one's up to you. where do YOU want the specific rooms to be?
- q: where is the structural girder that nastya slept on in A Bedtime Story?
a: it is among the engines, aka near aurora's heart :)
- q: why didn't you put a waste disposal system in the The Gear?
a: i didn't want to have to decide if whatever goes into jonny d'ville goes out as well. please don't make me do research on it. god, please no.
- q: wait, Zero Gravity everywhere, except in the The Gear? oh no! my gravity-based headcanons!
a: here, i strongly urge you to defy the laws of gravity. put gravity where it shouldn't be. take it away from where it is. just have some fun! (why do you think i put stairs instead of ladders inside the aurora? gravitational law defiance!)
- q: why didn't you make The Gear big enough to match how it looks in The Mechanisms' logo?
a: not only would that ruin all of my current proportion measurements, but it would make aurora too top-heavy.
creator's notes -
- AAAAAAAAA
- why did i do this?? it was fun, don't get me wrong- but i hate math!! i have dyscalculia! fuck!
- this project took 28 days, as i started my research on the 6th of september. (research, as in i knew nothing about spaceships before then)
- this did take lots of planning and research, so if you've made it to the end here, i'd very much appreciate a reblog!
#the mechanisms#fanart#the aurora#aurora#mechtober#mechs fanarts#oz.txt#headcanon that the crew have turned some of the basic rooms into their personal bedrooms#just bc it's easier that way#fun fact: i did all of these initial sketches on sticky notes. in pen.#why did i do that you ask?#ha. haha. hahahaha#if only i knew :)#aurora rambles#trypophobia#for the gribblies

I normally like Toph being an independent woman, but it's interesting to see that she could've had a deceased love interest! If we do use that, a rather toxic newcomer moves to RC and makes some snide comments about how the Chief hooked up and had a baby out of wedlock when really her husband passed away.
Hi Anon, thank you for the ask! And isn't it interesting?? I think exploring some other possibilities of how Toph could've ended up single besides "she was left" or "it was a fling" is fun! But also, I just love exploring Toph's character and any relationship that could've come from it so... LOL.
In the scenario where Toph had a quiet private life and a loving husband (named Kanto???), that would be interesting if he passed away before she knew she was pregnant, and then continued with the pregnancy as if nothing was really happening. The station would speculate, and she would never correct them because that would mean talking about him, and she misses him too much to do that. She can only talk about Kanto with her close friends, and she never got close with anyone at work, so no one actually asked and she never told anyone.
It would definitely hurt for Toph to hear the slander against her deceased husband. I mean, he was the love of her life and she lost him and now her kid has to deal with hearing that? It would eat her alive and infuriate her.
But keeping her emotions at bay and taking care of their baby is the most important thing, she doesn't have time to correct the entire station at this point, and while the toxic rookies are long gone (they were incompetent idiots that didn't deserve to get the job in the first place), their words never left.
I feel like Toph has both the capacity to have casual flings for her children's fathers, but also the capacity to have great, big romantic love stories haha! She loves people with her whole heart, but she can also be super casual and not think twice about things. I think we've got a pretty solid understanding of Toph's casual side of being in a relationship, but I wouldn't count her out for finding a soulmate that loves her and takes care of her!
Even if the S.O. isn't Kanto, I personally think exploring happy relationships for Toph is worth exploring! :D But that's just me. Some like the angst and I feel that the angst is so good.
Anyway, thanks for the ask, Anon! I love talking about Toph (if it isn't apparent already lol). Feel free to send more asks if you want, and I hope you have a great day!
......
Send me asks about ATLA, or anything, really! :D
#toph#toph beifong#headcanons#atla#lok#sort of about kantoph lmao#kanto#my asks#thanks for the ask!#anon#part of me is just like pls let toph be happy#but then the other part is like WOW the angst with her stories are so good#more angst pls#the duallity LMAo

Robotic Friendship - Chapter 11
Summary: The Autobots get a super virus on their computer system. Raf's oldest sister is brought in to help.
Pairing: Ratchet x OC (platonic), Soundwave x OC (platonic)
Word Count: 1072
Warnings/Disclaimers: None for this chapter.
Masterlist
The Autobots came back through the Ground Bridge with hanging heads. Fowler swung around at their speedy return. "Well?"
Ratchet just shook his helm. Arcee, Bumblebee and Bulkhead dispersed. A moment later, Optimus found his words. "Her cell phone was there. She was not."
"Then…they knew we would try tracking her."
"That and they also left us a warning."
"Don't tell me it was a note. 'We have her. Blah, blah, blah. Ransom. Blah.'" Fowler said with a hint of snarkiness.
Optimus motioned to the Ground Bridge. "You had better look for yourself."
Fowler shot Optimus a confused look and went down the stairs slowly. He had always been weary of the Bridge. Lights flashed and he disappeared. Moments later, he returned with a hand on his shaking head. "I need to make a call. Close up the Bridge."
Ratchet complied as Fowler made his way to the elevator. Raf stopped him halfway. "Is she…?"
"Wh-wha? N-no, no! Your sister is still alive, and we will find her." Fowler smiled sympathetically at Raf who returned a hopeful one.
Once he left, the human children turned to their mechanical guardians. June stepped towards Optimus and Ratchet with her hands on her hips. "What now? What are we going to do to fix this?"
-
Soundwave placed Nikki on his shoulder and nearly glided down the halls to his workspace. She was not dumb enough to make an escape attempt. Nikki held her wrapped hand. The blood pulsed through it harshly. Soundwave had knocked her hand when he stole her phone and gave it to Knockout who had orders from Megatron.
They reached Soundwave's station. He placed Nikki on the large, illuminated keypad, and then picked up a data pad. She looked up and watched him through the transparent material. Cybertronian symbols scrolled up on it as he hit different areas of the glass. Suddenly, the symbols changed. Were they now in English?
Soundwave set the data pad down in front of her, pointing to it. It was too big for her to pick up as he did, so she sat down and leaned over the pad to read. Code was missing, jumbled up, misspelled. It was either because it was lost in translation or something she caused. It was more likely the latter. Intuitively, she tapped the bottom of the screen and a keyboard appeared. Now she could work.
She worked for hours, fixing this segment of code. Sitting, kneeling, standing. Whatever it took to finish and go home. Standing up for the last time, she glanced up at Soundwave and opened her mouth only to be interrupted by Knockout. He strode in and tapped on the back of Nikki's head. "So how's our resident insect doing~?"
Knockout smiled in a sarcastic but charming manner when she glared at him. He moved to Soundwave's side. "Megatron ordered that I review the formula I used on your face plate; Make sure it holds up over long periods."
Soundwave nodded once. With a hiss and a click, he pulled it off and handed it to Knockout who walked back to the Medical Bay with it. Nikki stared silently and Soundwave's formerly handsome face.
It was like Knockout's, long and slender. His optics were narrower and did not glow as bright red as the other Decepticons. They were calmer and seemed softer. He stared blankly at the screen that lit up the scratches and scars in the once smooth metal. “So many… Is that why he wears a mask all the time?” Nikki wondered.
Soundwave's optics shifted down upon her. She cringed and pointed to the data pad. His helm turned and he stared straight in her green eyes before lifting up the pad to examine it. He nodded once before closing it out and opening another coding packet.
Knockout waltzed back in with the faceplate. "Everything checks out."
Before Soundwave could take it back, Knockout folded his arms and leaned his weight onto one pede, looking a bit sassy. "You know, I could just fix those scars. Then, you won't need this." He held up the faceplate, smirking.
Soundwave's expression did not change. He did not even look at him. He set the data pad back in front of Nikki. More coding…Joy… She watched as he snatched his faceplate away from Knockout, replacing it over his damaged face. Knockout took a step back out of caution. He looked between Soundwave and Nikki, who is still staring. She took notice and jumped back to her work, hoping that at least Soundwave did not catch her. Knockout merely frowned and huffed out of the room.
-
Raf curled up on the couch, watching TV. He blankly sat there. Jack had tried to get him to play video games or race his RC car. Nothing. He was not in the mood for anything.
Miko leaned on Bulkhead's foot, texting and playing old phone games as long as it kept her mind busy. Jack was wandering about the base. His mother had left for work already. Optimus and Ratchet were at the computers surveying Arcee and Bumblebee's scouting mission to find any kind of clue on Nikki's whereabouts. Ratchet had given them the coordinates on the Nemesis' last known location. There was no sign of it.
"Ratchet," Arcee's voice sounded off. "There's nothing here."
"Keep scanning! Expand the search radius!"
Bulkhead joined in, "They've gone over a fifty mile radius. If they said there is nothing, then there's nothing!"
Ratchet slammed his fist down but before he could yell, Optimus stopped him. "We are activating the Ground Bridge. Return to base."
Bumblebee beeped in confirmation.
The comm-link disconnected. Ratchet turned a fiery stare at Optimus. "There has to be some—"
"I know you are worried, old friend, but we must stay clear minded." Optimus put a servo on Ratchet's shoulder. "It is the only way we will find her."
Ratchet's faceplate softened but it quickly changed back to fury. He spun around on his heels, throwing Optimus' servo off, and stalked away. Raf was vaguely aware of this. He just sighed and looked down at the floor.
His focus sharpened. There was something glowing faintly just under the couch. He reached down and felt around. Whatever it was had small and somewhat sharp features. Gently, he took hold of it and brought it up to eye level. He stared hard and closely. It was a sliver of Energon.

Chapter 4: Proxy War
Chapter summary: Alexis and Alex head to the second part of the mission: destroy General Barkov’s airbase. (2953 words)
Warnings: mentions of PTSD, anxiety and bruises.
26 OCTOBER 2019, 1900 "Alexis" and "Alex", Codename Aces CIA with Urzik Militia Al-Raab, Urzikstan.
First day into the assignment and Alexis had already received two generous gifts.
A fresh pink and red bruise rested just above her elbow, courtesy from the soldier earlier. Travelling further up her left tricep was another strip of exposed flesh, from a bullet that grazed her while they were running for their lives. She scoffed at the addition of new injuries, hastily ripping off a gauze to bandage the wound and hoped they wouldn't scar.
Struggling single-handedly, she managed to roughly rip a jagged piece of gauze. Almost thoughtlessly plastering it against her bare flesh, when without warning, her pathetic excuse of a bandage was snatched from her.
Alex loomed over her seat, crossing his arm. She scooted over the table she sat on. He chastised, "Don't underestimate these flesh wounds. They are small but nasty, especially in dusty environments like Urkzistan. Takes little to get infected."
"This is why I rarely get assigned to places like these." She mumbled dejectedly, watching him patch her up perfectly.
Alex had feather light touches for such a muscular man. She teased, to which he placed a finger on her forehead and pushed. He was more tender only when it came to her, a fact that everyone knew. Moments later, he proudly patted his handiwork. Alex lowered to eye level with the bandage, pouting smugly.
Alexis frowned at his suspicious behaviour.
"A kiss for your booboo?"
'Dumb ass.' Alexis sent an unforgiving hard flick! to his forehead. He snickered, rubbing the red spot.
Hadir entered the room with a few fighters, a brief pause in his steps upon witnessing their close proximity, "Alena... How are your wounds?"
From her peripheral vision, Alex subtly bit his lip and roughly tossed the bunch of bandage into the medkit. "Not Alena– " She placed an easing hand over his to silence him.
"I'm still alive. Are we ready?"
"Always about work, Alexis. You hardly changed." Hadir's gaze followed their intertwined hands and chuckled, somehow amused by their reactions. "I set up shop on the edge of Barkov's base. Keep those fucking dogs in check. Friends close, enemies closer. No grenades, so we improvise."
He handed them bottles of molotov cocktail. Impressive, for what scraps it was made out of. Alex echoed the same sentiment.
"What, you think we fight this war with sticks and stones?"
Sensing the pricks in Hadir's words, she quickly hopped off the table and patted Hadir's back. "With sharpened sticks and a big enough stone, why not?"
They followed Hadir to the roof. "You are too optimistic, Alexis." She laughed at that statement. "Those bastards only understand violence... So I show them violence."
"Violence is not a catalyst, it is a diversion. Too much of it, the evil it does is permanent, Hadir."
"You'd have to send me more English dictionaries, Alexis." Hadir cheekily replied in his mother tongue. "Barkov has an air force, so we have one too. RC planes loaded with C4."
Witnessing the unfamiliar grittier edge in Hadir, Alexis thought back to her first encounter with the siblings. It wasn't hard to read Hadir, the man was practically wearing his heart on his sleeves. One could say that pointed to a certain amount of naivety, but she liked it, a kind of genuine rare in their line of work.
Headstrong, direct, loyal, three words used to describe Hadir and it would be the truest thing one could hear. Like his sister, Hadir didn't quite fit in the mold. Five years ago, the lieutenant possessed a vivid sparkle in his eyes that was lacking in his sister. Always eager for a fight, a true never-backing-down-spirit. Today, the light dulled.
But what would she know? Perhaps that was the unfortunate cost of living in a civil war.
When they reached the roof, the sun had long set, leaving behind a cast of darkness that enveloped the sky. Even in nightfall, Urkzistan still felt like a hundred degrees, but the staggered waves of wind did some to alleviate the heat.
Alex and Alexis each grabbed a remote controller for the RC planes, crashing it into the army's helicopters. There was some excitement in using amateur, yet creative equipment like these, evident in her uncharacteristically large grin. "Good hunting."
"Stay low. The airbase is ahead."
The drones flew over the hill to the airbase's tarmac. Using the bird's eye view, she expertly memorized the tarmac's landscapes before crashing her drone into a target. The remaining helicopters exploded upon impact, illuminating the night sky in a series of twisted fireworks.
"Good flying, brothers and sisters... Let's get down there." Farah praised, a smile at bay. Weapons in hand, they hopped down to the airbase's perimeter.
"Airbase perimeter is dead ahead! Second team will cover us with the cannon." Hadir yelled over the sounds of the explosions.
Alexis subconsciously reloaded her M4A1 while Alex requested for air support. His words barely registered in her brain as a bout of anxiety hit her, feeling choked. Her grip tightened on her rifle, forcing big intakes of oxygen into her burning lungs. She quickly released her fingers in an attempt to fulfil the urge to feel the Earth under her, big handfuls of sand, dirt and grass.
Her heart thudded painfully in her throat, telling herself, 'You're okay. You're okay, you're here. Breathe.'
"Copy, 3-1. I'm tasking an unmarked gunship to your position, stand by." A muffled reply from her comms grounded her back into reality, she was here, this was happening.
Alexis hurriedly looked around, everyone else was too focused on the plan to notice her. Like it never happened, she forced herself to swallow the thickness in her throat, and along with that, her fear. She packed her emotions into a box and pushed it far into the back corner of her mind.
Alexis placed her all her focus, hyper-fixated on one thing: survive.
"Roger that," Alex replied, crouching beside Alexis. They were surrounded by the full force of the militia. Their spirits were contagious, feeding her a much needed level of adrenaline and confidence.
"Get ready! We attack their armories, take their weapons, and take their airfield! Cousins– we fight to free Urzikstan and take back our country. For Urzikstan!" A mortar cannon fired to breach the airfield's perimeter walls. That was it, upon Farah's orders, everyone sprinted, guns blazing into the south wall of the airbase.
It was like clockwork, shooting, running and hiding behind covers. She slipped back into familiarity, the anxiety in her dissolved and overtook by a rush need for survival and adrenaline.
The two CIA agents worked seamlessly, benefits from the countless missions that shaped their chemistry. She glared at Alex, annoyed when he stole her shot. He shrugged, firing his rifle while branding an excuse. Truthfully, he just liked to piss her off.
"You were distracted."
"I'll give you something to be distracted about." Her words mixed with more tautness than normal, but in the midst of all that blood and fighting, Alex didn't pick up on it.
"Hm. Wouldn't be the first time."
Alexis specially took a break from firing to throw her middle finger up. She aimed her carbine at the snipers on the watchtower opposite her. Two sharp bursts later, they lifelessly fell over the tower.
"Good job, Alexis! Watchtower is clear! Move in, move in!" Farah yelled and they pushed further into the base. Following behind Farah's team, Alexis and Alex flanked left, two sharpshooters ridding of enemy hostiles within seconds.
The enemy backup came instantly —two helicopters hovering over the airbase. The heavy fire forced them behind a tiny wooden crate. Lucky for them, Hadir's plan was foolproof. He loaded just enough RC planes, and more. Alex took remote control of the RC planes.
Seeing their cover was so small, Alex immediately shielded her with himself, hugging her as tightly as he could to minimize their exposure. Alexis quickly reached for a Molotov but paused. A crafty smirk as she kicked around for the biggest piece of concrete she could throw. She looped a tactical rope over the rock.
"Take the southeast one, this one's mine!" She ordered, blindly nudging Alex's knees and pointed at the helicopter just 300 yards shy from their position.
"With a rock?" Alex bewilderedly asked, multitasking while controlling the RC planes.
"Mind your business, I'm a good shot. Remember Cairo...?" Alexis trailed off to close her right eye in concentration.
"Unfortunately."
She filtered through the comms, "Hadir! Watch this!"
Eyeing for the tail rotor (the weakest link in a helicopter), she used the length of the rope as torque, then released. The heavy weight of the rock propelled it forward, the rope entangled among the spinning blades before the block of concrete broke its spin. Small sparks ignited as the blades came in contact with the object. Within seconds, the tail rotor failed, causing the helicopter to spin uncontrollably.
It crashed into a flower of sparks and fire. Alex whistled lowly in admiration at the sight, a mumbled 'damn' escaping from his lips.
"What did I say about finding a big enough stone?"
"Well played, I guess you don't have to send me more books, Alexis!"
"Visual learner, then." Lady Luck certainly was shining down bright on her, blessing her with good timing and that majority was the work of the pilot's own anxiety. Not that she would ever tell. She winked at Alex, jerking her head at the other destroyed chopper.
A number of militia members also witnessed the fiasco, all shouting Arabic words of praises. Her stunt did wonders to renew their fighting spirits. They pushed right towards the first armory.
Alexis waited for the most apposite timing before sprinting to her next cover, flawlessly lodging bullets in the new waves of snipers on a hangar's roof. She spotted a distinct red building. "3-1, got eyes on the armory."
"Copy that, I see it too. Two tangos, let's drop 'em." They cleared the armory for reloading.
"Good work, both of you! Regroup outside! Tarmac is through the gate. Everyone to the gate!"
Alexis was a phoenix on the battlefield. Her presence mighty, fearless and deadly within a single shot. Years of experience flowing in her blood, every move was calculated and precise. One shot, one kill, she dropped targets effortlessly. She knew exactly where and when to shoot, throw a grenade or to advance. It was compelling to see her move.
It had been longer than five minutes and yet, their air support still was nowhere near them. She was growing impatient, this tarmac was the turning point vital for their success. As another round of hellfire rained down, more of their own got caught in the crossfire. They helplessly watched as grunts of pains called out, watching comrades pierced with rounds of ammunition dropped dead beside them.
"Saint to Watcher, we are taking heavy fire from enemy helis! Get us that air support, now!" The chopper was late, and the agent was furious watching others pay the price. She'd be damned if she cared if her tone was 'appropriate'.
Switching to a crawling position, a sudden pain shot from her arm. She groaned mid-shot, knowing the bandage came loose and her dive roll into the sand and dust did not help. She stayed to clear stragglers while the rest pushed through the barracks to advance further into the tarmac.
"Sister! The tarmac is ahead of us!"
"I see it! Brother, get us more planes in the air!" Hadir tried, but in a turn of events, the militia's safehouse was under attack.
Fuck. She didn't like how the tables were turning. They really needed that damn helo.
"My planes are down. We need air support. If you guys really want to help us, now is the time!" Hadir pleaded.
Alex nodded reassuringly, "We have a helo on the way! We're on our own until then! Where's the last armory?"
"In that hangar across the tarmac! We take it and the base is ours!"
"Roger that! Saint," Alex called for her. "Race you there."
"Rog." She replied lazily, pushing herself off the ground and charged to the next armory. "Let's end this."
Alexis ran past the second hangar, where Farah and her soldiers were successfully sweeping up the enemies. Catching her breath, she met an awaiting Alex outside the armory, a displayed triumphant smirk since he reached first.
Hushed whispers came from inside, revealing their headcount. In the same formation, they boosted each other on top of the armory to reach a latch. On the count of three, Alexis used all her strength to open the heavy latch door for Alex to snipe the three soldiers.
"Last armory is secure. Resupply on us." Alex commented. Both of them busied refilling their ammunition. She caught with ease as Alex tossed an unloaded sniper rifle. Her lips curved upwards approvingly. "A Windrunner...? You are too good to a lady, Echo 3-1..."
Alex watched her hands appreciatively glided along the .50 BMG's body with a grin, knowing it was her perfect weapon. Her happiness was short lived when the airbase power was cut off, leaving them in the dark. He shrugged as she returned it and left. Without a thermal scope, it was useless to them.
"I hear incoming!" Farah alerted as more tanks rolled up to the hangar. Alexis cursed, this was never ending without their helos.
"Shit! Alexis, we could really use some help here!"
Her comms sounded, "Echo 3-1, Viper 1-1 on approach. Ready for tasking. What's your position?"
'Oh hell yes', she thought, immediately ceasing fire and slumped on the ground to regain her energy.
"Viper, this is 3-1. God damn good to hear your voice!" Alex conveyed in relief. "Friendlies in the hangar, taking fire from troops on the tarmac. You are cleared hot!"
"Farah, Hadir! Get your people to stay inside the hangar!" Alexis shouted, pointing at the helo. The siblings nodded in gratitude.
"Saint to Viper, did you take a nap or something?" Alexis thought she recognized Viper's voice and callsign. Beside her, Alex almost had a cardiac arrest from her unexpected accusatory tone.
Instead, a chuckle came from the receiving end. "Saint! We ran into a little fuel situation at baseplate. How many times must I save your pretty ass?"
Alex glanced questionably. 'He had a crush' she mouthed, waving dismissively. Alex rolled his eyes in response, of course he did.
All of them remained in the hanger while Viper cleaned up. As they looked around, their headcount was drastically reduced. This sucked —she hated this part. The part where they paid the price, a hefty one, even for the victorious.
A sudden burst of gunfire shot into the hangar, barely missing the lot. "Jesus!" Alex commented, equally taken aback.
Alexis yelled into the comms, "Viper, do you mind doing a little landscaping – a tank right outside the hangar! Pretty sure we almost fucking died!"
"Copy. Anything for you, Saint." Alexis was about to call Viper out for his inappropriate comments, but since Viper was the one saving their asses, she stopped and settled for an unsatisfying eye-roll. From the annoyed expression, it was clear Alex felt the same.
After a few rockets and hellfire from Viper, they successfully claimed the airbase. "All targets destroyed. Tarmac is cleared of enemy movement, over." She looked to Farah, a warm smile slipping on the commander's face.
They won. They took the airbase and shoved it where it would hurt Barkov. Without air support, his army would face tremendous setbacks.
"Solid copy, Viper 1-1. Appreciate the high heat, don't be a stranger." Alex thanked.
"Never by choice, 3-1. Nice to hear from you again, Saint, hope to see you at the next one! Viper, out."
"Don't I know it! Echo and Saint, out." Alex interjected before she could even touch her comms.
Walking through the empty airbase, her adrenaline pumped at the sweet taste of victory. For Alex and her, victory was probably their only constant. The taste no longer revelled on their tongues the same way it used to —watered down after hundreds of missions. To them, today would have been just another victory tucked under their belts.
But for the Liberation Force, they were a step closer to freeing themselves from the cage Barkov ruthlessly shoved them in.
As Alexis, Alex, Hadir and Farah surveyed the scene of their victory, a once foreign feeling of contentment coursed through her veins. From the look on Alex's face and the way he ethnically perched his arm over her, he definitely felt that way too.
"So you do kill Russians." Hadir said jovially.
"Only the bad ones."
Hadir looked to them sincerely. "Today was a great victory for Urzikstan. Thank you, brother and sister."
"We make a good team." Alex passed a genuine smile, proud.
Alexis huffed, looping her arms around the siblings endearingly as if to stake her claim. Her uncharacteristic affection shocked him, even though he was aware of their history. "Welcome to the team, Alex."
Farah smiled. "Yes, we've bought time, but Barkov will retaliate."
"So will we." Hadir finished. They'd be more than ready.
They had no idea where this war was going to take them. However, one thing was for sure. When they were done with this assignment, Roman Barkov would be dead. It was a promise they swore upon.
Farah glanced at her team. After today, they were comrades.
a/n: sorry this was a very technical chapter. peep alex's silent jealous streak tho... masterlist here. want to be tagged? let me know!

Underwater America with Peter Potamus (episode 25: Moxie Pond and Moosehead Lake, Maine)
At any rate, as we open this particular episode, much can be said aerially of the view to be had along the New Hampshire-Maine border region, largely roughed-up granite mountains interspersed by the odd lake here and there, which can be said to also be the scene coming into the lake country of northern Maine (which even the selected stock music can’t manage to compromise) ...
PETER POTAMUS, in narrator mode: Wasn’t Lake Winnipesaukee quite the dive, especially the “giant’s staircase” underwater?
MILDEW WOLF, getting snarky as ever: You can say THAT again!
WALLY GATOR: And setting aside Weeki Wachee, you hardly see much of that back in Florida, don’t you know....
At any rate, we see the scene shifting to a campy-looking diner in Skowhegan, Maine, where, over coffee and pancakes in the classic Northern Maine stylee, discussion lies afoot--
PETER POTAMUS: Skowhegan, Maine--gateway to Moosehead Lake, one of northern Maine’s most popular resort areas ... and, in a way, Mt. Katahdin, itself a symbol of Maine in its own way. Not to mention the northern terminal of the Appalachian Trail ... but in a diner there, we discuss diving strategy:
Listening in on the breakfast and dive strategy session--
PETER POTAMUS: --as if Moosehead Lake wasn’t itself interesting, someone was mentioning to me about Moxie Pond, which we’ll dive first before heading to Moosehead!
MAGILLA GORILLA, somewhat ahead of himself: Is that where Moxie soda comes from? (Laughter all around)
PETER POTAMUS: In a way, Magilla--as in the name perhaps having come from there....
BREEZLY BRUIN: Might it be likely that we could have some Moxie while at Moxie Pond?
PETER POTAMUS: I think there might be a store on the way where we might pick up a case to enjoy on the side ...
WALLY GATOR: I’d be hard pressed to imagine us trying to drink Moxie in Moxie Pond just as those Weeki Wachee Mermaids were drinking RC Cola in the spring during their performance, don’t you know ...
MILDEW WOLF: Well, who wouldn’t?!
And so the drive up US 201 northward from Skowhegan towards Moxie Pond, stopping at the general store in The Forks, which could be considered the “gateway” to Moxie Pond ...
PETER POTAMUS, narrating: Moxie Pond, itself somewhat elongated, is reachable for the most part by way of a gravel road easterly from The Forks, whose general store managed to be a decent source of supply--including the inevitable elixir known as Moxie. Having it as part of a hot dog roast that evening--nothing but skin-on weiners of the sort Down Easters call “snappers,” as in the natural casing--we couldn’t help but notice how uniquely bitter was Moxie’s taste. Which, I will admit, was something of an experience ahead of the diving experience.
The action can be said to shift here to underwater, thanks to Squiddly Diddly’s rather amazing underwater camera work as much as kitschy background music inevitable to the series; we can assume a dive boat came into play.
For as unlikely a dive spot as Moxie Pond, whose average depth is about 12 feet (with a maximum such of 50 feet), such couldn’t be more refreshing on one of those muggy summer afternoons as seem to prevail in northern Maine, so long as mosquitoes and deerflies don’t get to you first!
We discern some especially interesting action off a spot about midway into Moxie Pond known as Burnt Jacket Island (how that name came about is anybody’s guess), finding much in the way of game fish such as would be common in northern Maine’s lakes region surrounding our intrepid divers ... not to mention a bit of hubris and debris from the logging era in those parts such as submerged logs from, say, a lumber raft as came apart for some reason to otherwise relieve the monotony of what could be lake grasses and sand. or maybe some granite “wall” coming out of the bottom from a modestly shallow lake as Moxie Pond inherently is. Oh, and amazingly clear, what with the lake not quite disturbed otherwise considering its isolation and obscurity.
Back at camp on shore ...
Considering all the mosquitoes and deerflies endemic, which can cause quite a problem at night, we took the precaution of stocking up on punk sticks to burn strategically around our campsite; the smoke from burning punk sticks is said to drive them away.
LOOPY De LOOP: Just like back in the wilds of Quebec during the summer months when the mosquitoes and the deerflies came out ... only we used a smouldering fire aimed at maximising the smoke output to keep such stingers at bay. Believe you me, you don’t want to get caught stung by a north woods mosquito at the wrong time; hence, the need for plenty of mosquito-confusing smoke in the summer months!
PETER POTAMUS, getting back to the narration: At least one thing was to be said for Moxie Pond: The night before we left for Moosehead Lake, we toasted her in--what else?--Moxie. (A chorus of “The Maine Stein Song” from Rudy Vallee could be heard in the background to maybe add a chintzy sort of atmosphere to the evening’s proceedings, even with punk-stick smoke to keep mosquitoes and deerflies at bay.)
The next morning, a hearty little campfire breakfast before proceeding on that gravel road leading us initially to Moxie Pond out from same ... and towards the main highway to Moosehead Lake, as in Maine 6/15 ... somehow, trying to dodge the tourist traffic was never going to be easy in the middle of a near-wilderness where the Northeast’s largest lake happens to be.... yet we find ourselves at a “hole in the wall” dive shop in Greenville Junction, practically on a side street and the sort where you need to be referred to ... and what stories could certainly be told, especially of the days when the pioneers on Moosehead Lake would basically use the ice-covered surface in the winters as a garbage dump, hoping the spring thaw would send the junk “in its place,” by and large.
The diving scene shifts now to one such especially fascinating underwater refuse dump site in Moosehead Lake from the past, presumably left over from an abandoned logging camp from back when the lumbering industry (which, as Loopy De Loop will be quick to admit, attracted plenty of French-Canadian types in the winter months) held sway. Not only cheesy music, but also plenty of empty bottles (liquor and otherwise), bedframes, bed springs, tables such as might have been from the dining hall--and even a substantial iron cookstove, looking none the worse for wear despite some algae, attracting especially the interest of Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har.
HOKEY WOLF, going into a mix of narrator and Sgt. Ernie Bilko: I would have to wonder if, in an earlier time, there could have been some easier way to move all that junk when the lumber camp was abandoned--but NOOOOO!! They just found it easier and more convenient to dump it all underwater, creating quite the potential for an Underwater Salvage Operation on an inland lake such as this!! And imagine the profit potential!!
PETER POTAMUS, as the action shifts to a chartered dive boat moving towards Mt. Kimeo on the north side of Moosehead Lake: Moving from the absurd to the sublime ... one of the boys in the dive shop back in Greenville Junction suggested diving what you’d call the “trunk” underwater of Mt. Kimeo, a rather substantial hill rising from the lake bottom ... which happens to be close to a somewhat down-at-heel resort hotel close by. Dropping anchor within view of the mountain, I mentioned in the pre-dive briefing about a granite “wall” on the underwater portion of Mt. Kimeo as might be worth checking out ...
And check out they did, as witness the dive into the waters off Mt. Kimeo, the flashlight action galore from the wetsuited dive team (yes, even Breezly Bruin is in black neoprene), and the sheer fascination of an underwater rock wall dropoff into the “steep and deep” of another remarkably clear lake for northern Maine’s resort country. Even the cheesiness of the stock background music doesn’t seem to distract one iota from the awe and wonderment of seeing the underwater side of a mountain. Not even Hardy Har-Har could appear fazed at such a sensation ... inevitably leading to--
At any rate, next week’s show is expected to be rather interesting. In fact, the whole’s premise is such that you’ll want to watch it for yourself to understand what it’s all about. So, till then, Peter Potamus winding things up ... and hoping you’ll enjoy the dive!

Hello there! I heard through the grapevine that you are new to the RC fandom on tumblr! WELCOME! If you are taking prompts, could I please request no. 9 - “you’re in love with her” for rebelcaptain?
Hello! I have a second part coming out tomorrow, with the roles reversed because I got the prompt twice! I hope you like it!
******************************************************************************
They commed Cassian when the ship was about half an hour out and told him that he could meet them in the hanger, that he shouldn’t overreact, but that he should be prepared, and Cassian couldn’t remember a time he had been more scared.
She’d taken a blaster shot to the calf for a member of the Pathfinders squad and then passed out afterwards. Cassian threw on his boots and jacket and started at a sprint for the hanger they would be docking in. Blood throbbed in his head and he closed his eyes, taking a few shaking breaths as he stopped.
Bodhi had jumped out of the pilot’s seat and met Cassian halfway across the hanger. He opened his mouth to speak but Cassian didn’t wait for the pilot to gather his words.
“Is she alright? What happened?”
Half formed memories of her laugh, high pitched and gruff, and her smile, quirked and smug, and her eyes, green like an ocean flew through his brain. Weeks and months of wasted time, too scared to kiss her, to hold her hand, to tell her what she meant to him, to make sure she knew she was the most important person in this galaxy to him all slammed into him and nearly drove him to his knees.
Bodhi put a hand on his shoulder and it tore Cassian away from his thoughts.
“She took a blaster shot to the leg. She’ll be okay, they’re putting bacta on it now. Saved some of her team’s life, Cass.”
And right then, Cassian hated himself. He could feel the mask of old instincts that he’d kept on for so long slowly start to gnaw away at him because he wished she hadn’t taken that shot. Maybe it made her a hero, maybe she saved a life, for a fleeting moment, Cassian didn’t care. For a fleeting moment, Cassian thought that Jyn should have minded her own goddamn business and let whoever that blaster was going to hit get shot because then at least she would have been okay for another day or even another second and Cassian could tell her everything.
“Cassian, she’s going to be fine, but-” Bodhi paused. “But it was close. She was unconscious for a while and-” Bodhi stopped. He took a breath and looked over at Cassian. “You know, it’s been a few months now, and I know it’s none of my business and I know Jyn doesn’t like talking about that kind of stuff, but, just, well, you know-”
“Bodhi, just tell me where she is!” Cassian ran a hand through his hair and closed his eyes. They hurt when he opened them again and exhaustion was quickly starting to take him over, the adrenaline wearing off. “I need to see her.” Bodhi’s lips tightened in a frown and his eyebrows crinkled.
“Cassian, listen, please, I know you both have had some problems with trusting-”
“Bodhi, what bay is she in? She won’t want to be alone in medbay. She hates it.”
“Yeah,” he said. “Yeah, I know. Bay three, they have her on some painkillers and bacta,” Bodhi said. Cassian felt himself exhale and started at a quick walk to the medbay, but before he made it a few steps, Bodhi grabbed his arm.
“Cass?” His voice was low and didn’t have it’s usual quiver. That was what caused Cassian to turn around.
“Yes?” He questioned. Bodhi took a deep breath and blinked.
“You’re in love with her. I know it, so does almost all of base. You two have been waiting, for what I don’t know, but I’d tell her quick because we’re in a war. Next time it might not be her leg.”
Medbay was cold. It was cold and smelt like bacta. Cassian made his way through to the third section, where Bodhi had said Jyn was. He pushed the curtains back. She was sitting up in bed, paler than usual and with a deep purple bruise on her cheek. Cassian stood there for a few seconds before Jyn looked up at him. Her brown hair fell over her face, out of it’s usual bun and Cassian exhaled long and hard. She gave a lopsided smile when she saw him.
“I figured you’d come, so I had them put a chair out. They said if I’m good this time I can be out by tomorrow.” Jyn said and motioned for him to sit in the chair next to her bed. He did. “Bodhi tell you I was okay? I made sure he promised not to let you worry before I passed out.” Cassian nodded. Jyn’s smile turned to a frown, quickly. “Cassian, what’s wrong?”
“Jyn, I was worried.” It spilled out before he could stop it. “And all I could think of was how much kriffing time we’ve wasted.” She frowned again. “I love you, I really love you and if you’d had worse happen, I don’t know if I would have been able to take it.” Jyn didn’t say anything for a few minutes and Cassian cursed himself for saying anything, before Jyn beckoned him closer. He leaned in, so she didn’t have to move and she took his hand and squeezed.
“I love you too.”

1:72 SAAB OAS 41 'Víðarr'; aircraft "23 Grey" of Skaraborgs Flygflottilj F 7, Swedish Air Force; Satenäs AB, 2014 (Whif/kit conversion) by dizzyfugu https://flic.kr/p/pAFA59 +++ DISCLAIMER +++ Nothing you see here is real, even though the conversion or the presented background story might be based historical facts. BEWARE! Some background: The Víðarr (or Vidar, "Wide ruler", a Nordic god among the Æsir associated with vengeance) or officially SAAB OAS 41 is Sweden's first manned aircraft with stealth technology, and the first aircraft of its kind in Europe in operational service. "OAS" is an abbreviation of the aircraft's primary tactical roles: "Osynlig Attack Spaning", "Unseen attack and reconnaissance missions". Much of the OAS 41's technology and elements were developed and tested on unmanned vehicles, namely SAAB's SHARC and FILUR demonstrators. SHARC (Swedish Highly Advanced Research Configuration) was an experimental unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) built by Saab AB. Since the late 90-ies SAAB had been carrying out preliminary studies about several Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) concepts but not taking them into flying demonstrators. In 2001 it was decided to start the SHARC Technology Demonstrator (SHARC TD) project. Because of a limited budget and good in-house experiences from flight tests of instrumented sub-scale aircraft, it was decided that the SHARC TD should be in 1:4 scale of the original SHARC design. One of the major goals of the project was to test the airworthiness process for a military UAV or aircraft of similar layout, and this could well be achieved even with sub scaled aircraft. Even the goal of testing a lean development process for demonstrators could be achieved in that way. The SHARC TD project was initiated in 2001 with first flight less than one year later, on February 11th 2002, with the basic version. The more advanced version made its maiden flight on April 9th 2003, less than two years after project start. In September 2003 the SHARC flew a number of missions out of visual range, ranging around 20 km from the control station location. In January 2004 the effort towards the development of the ATOL functionalities was initiated, and led to a successful flight test campaign in August 2004, during which fully autonomous mission were demonstrated, from standstill to standstill. The SHARC system was composed by two flying demonstrators (BS-001 and -002), a GCS and some GSE for engine start and cooling air supply on ground. The SHARC TD is a 60 kg jet-engine driven aircraft. The airframe was manufactured in light-weight composite materials; the airframe weighed only 8 kg (without landing gear). The payload consisted of a forward looking colour video camera. The avionic system (hardware and software) was designed and manufactured by SAAB and is based on Flight Test Instrumentation system COMET 15 used in the Gripen and Viggen fighter a/c. Before the decision to develop an in house avionic system, a market survey was conduced, but no existing system had been fulfilling specifications. Electro-optic fibres, or “fly-by-light”, were used to the actuators in order to minimize the risk for Electro Magnetic Interference. Saab and FMV’s technology demonstrator program FILUR made its first flight in 2006. FILUR’s main objective was to show the tactical importance of stealth technology applied on aerial vehicles, to gain experience and to set a foundation for stealth requirements for future aerial systems and air-surveillance systems. The focus with the FILUR program was on low signature, for both radar and IR-signature. “Static measurements of radar cross section (RCS) made late 2004 showed really good performance and corresponded with calculated data. In flight measurements of stealth performance will be done as a next step”, said Jan Boström FILUR Project Manager, Saab Aerosystems. The technology developed in FILUR would be used for future Saab systems, being UAVs or manned aircraft, which became the OAS 41 which had been under development since 2004. The SAAB OAS 41 made its maiden flight in 2012, and in early 2014 a pre-production batch of five aircraft has been assigned to Skaraborgs Flygflottilj ("Skaraborg Air Force Wing") F 7 in Satenäs, where the aircraft are operated alongside JAS 39 Gripen multi-purpose fighters for evaluation and integration. Conceptually the OAS 41 is very similar to the much earlier US-American F-117, dedicated to ground attacks with precision weapons, attacks against coastal/sea targets and reconnaissance missions. All ordnance or equipment is carried internally in a large bay which is covered by sliding doors. Typical weapons include up to three Rb 75 (AGM-65 Maverick) missiles, two GBU-12 laser-guided smart bombs or two AGM 119 "Penguin" anti-ship missiles. Iron or cluster bombs as well as pods with unguided missiles are also an option. Beyond that, the aircraft can also carry air-to-air missiles like the actice radar RB 99 (AIM-129 AMRAAM) or the IR-guided Rb 74 (AIM-9L Sidewinder), up to four of each. The OAS 41 does not feature an internal gun, even though up to two podded Mauser BK 27 cannons can be carried internally. Overall, its range of weapons is highly identical to what the JAS 39 Gripen can deploy. Alternatively to offensive loads, the OAS 41 can carry camera of sensor pallets in its belly, making it highly adaptable. It is uncertain how many aircraft wil actually be built, since the Swedish Air Force officially announced that the OAS 41 is not to replace its JAS 39 fleet, rather complement it or take over exclusive missions due to its stealth features. The type's limited performance will probably confine to a limited scope of missions, and with the running cost reductions it is not expected that more than 30 OAS 41's will ever leave the production line for the Swedish Air Force, unless it would be exported and follow in the Gripen's footsteps, but this remains doubtful. General characteristics: Crew: 1 Length: 6.70 m (21 ft 11 in) Wingspan: 18,29 m (59 ft 11 in) Height: 3,96 m (13 ft) Wing area: ~68 m² (729 ft²) Empty weight: 6.739 kg (14.844 lb) Internal fuel: 2.500 l Max. takeoff weight: 13.600 kg (29,760 lb) Powerplant: 2× Svenska Flygmotor RM13S turbofans (General Electric CF34-3S), with 4.150 each Performance: Maximum speed: 692 mph (1.115 km/h) at height Cruise speed: Mach 0.7 Landing speed: 210 km/h Range: 4.828 km (3.000 mi) with internal fuel Service ceiling: 13.381 m (43.830 ft) Rate of climb: 60 m/s (11.811 ft/min) Armament: Up to 3.000 kg of ordnance, all carried in a ventral bomb bay, including air-to-ground and air-to-air missile, smart and iron bombs, gun and rocket pods, ECM equipment and pallets with cameras and sensors for reconnaissance missions. The kit and its assembly: This stealth aircraft is basically a scale-o-rama project: it is a Dragon B-2 bomber in 1:200 scale turned into a 1:72 scale aircraft. What sounds easy is more complex than it appears: you need a cockpit with a proper canopy, the landing gear has to be adjusted and there are many small details that need attention. For the cockpit installation I decided to implant a complete X-32 section from a Revell kit, it replaces the complete B-2 spine. It appears a bit bulgy, but upon close inspection of the potential internal layout I found that you can either have a flush canopy OR a bomb bay. Since I wanted to keep the latter (and enlarged it), the cockpit went a bit higher. As a result, the original X-32 canopy looked much to bulbous, it was way too high. Searching through the spares pile I eventually turned up an old F-18B canopy, which, reversed and cut into shape, could be transplanted onto the X-32's cockpit frame, even tough some sculpting at the rear was necessary. Since the F-18 canopy had some glue stains I had to sand and polish it, and as a final coat I decided to apply some light brown translucent paint. Fit is not 100%, though, but it looks good now. The high cockpit necessitated some visual counter-balance at the rear. Originally I had hoped to keep the OAS 41 fin-free, but I eventually dug out a pair of F-117 fins that were cut down in length and glued to the airframe, slightly canted outwards. The landing gear is all new. The massive front strut comes from a F-117, the wheel from the X-32. The front well was enlarged, as good as possible, but it is still too short... don't lokk there closely. ;) The main landing gear struts were taken from the X-32, while the wheels come from the F-117. The wells were lengthened at the rear, so that the longer legs find enough space. The B-2's original bomb bay was cut out and replaced by a completely scratched interior that allows the carriage of a pair of laser-guided bombs, which come from the scrap box. The exhaust slits were modified, too. They were made wider, and inside a kind of ramps were added - the original 1:200 B-2 has nothing inside. For the same reason I also added light blocks, pieces of dark grey foamed plastic, inside of the air intakes and the exhausts. Finally, at the aircraft's front, some pitots were added, but that's all since the overall hull was to remain clean. Painting and markings: I originally had the plan to make this a Japanese aircraft, but then I decided to make it a (kind of) tribute to the innovative Swedish aircraft industry - the SAAB OAS was born, and it was to carry an appropriate, if not odd, paint scheme. Even though "Fields & Meadows", made popular by the Saab 37 Viggen, was an option, I did not want to copy that style. But an angular scheme appeared logical as to confuse the aircraft contours. The splinter paint scheme I eventually settled upon was vaguely inspired by Norwegian "Skjold" class coastal patrol ships, which have stealthy hulls and carry a three-colored spinter scheme in grey, sand and dark brown. Odd for a ship, one might say, but in front of the typical Norwegian rocky coastline, it is highly effective, and even on the open sea, viewed from above, it is not a bad scheme at all. The pattern was vaguely lent from the Skjold boats, and I used different tones which would IMHO be more versatile: a reddish brown (WWII French Earth Brown), Field Grey and Olive Drab, in a wraparound scheme. Together with the edgy shape of the aircraft this turned out to be pretty effective - a bit of a surprise! The rest was rather straightforward: white for the air intakes and the landing gear, the cockpit and the bomb bay were painted in Neutral Grey. The pair of internal GBU-12s was painted in light grey, a typical tone for such weapons in Swedish use witn the JAS 39 Gripen. The kit received a light black ink washing and some panel painting with lighter shades of the basic tone, just to amphasize contours and simulate some structure and acccess panels esp. in the engine area. After decal application (puzzled together, among others, from an Italeri JAS 39 Gripen) the kit was sealed with Revell's matt acrylic varnish. In the end, a rather simple whif - I am not a friend of stealth aircraft, since they are IMHO boring. The splinter scheme changes this a bit, and the high cockpit does not look that bad at all, even though the original X-32 canopy looked REALLY weird.

‘Blindspotting’ Leaves Moviegoers A Little Vulnerable But Hella Aware
Lifelong friends Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal are by admission artsy as f**k. Before the Citi Bikes, green juices and fresh produce at Whole Foods invaded their native home of Oakland, Diggs and Rafa, as they refer to one another, were two dudes who understood the power of verse, ate at the taco trucks, went to poetry slams to meet girls and got into the occasional brawl or two. Their loyalty to the neighborhood they once knew still oozes from them, despite its changing landscape. Whether it be a slip of the word “fa sho” during an interview or the way they plant their feet, sway from side to side, pop a collar or screw up their face when music from a Bay Area artist comes on. No matter what, these two are most definitely still Town.
[...] How do you hope white people will react after seeing this film? What kind of discussion are you hoping for?
DD: I think any discussion is good after. That’s what in general an audience hopes for, right? I’m not particularly prescriptive for what I want anyone to take away from it. I think the film advocates for all of us that there are some, even with people who we are very close to, there are things and aspects of their experience that we don’t understand. And it advocated looking closer into those things and turning to see our blind spot.
RC: We’re at this really polarizing moment in this country. Everything is a snap judgment. Everything is a reinforcing of your own opinions. We’re not really reaching much to change. Revision is something we’re all inherently afraid of, so I think the film tries to present to you moments where you can easily summarize a person or a circumstance and then gives you a little more information that complicates it in some way. And that’s not just true in the movie, that’s always true if you do the extra work to look a little bit closer. The concept of Blindspotting is actively looking beyond your conscious snap judgment based on your lifetime of experience, because that is still within your framework of you and the way that you walk through the world. And that’s true for everybody. But in order to narrow those gaps between people, to find empathy outside of your own circumstance it takes active work.
[...] What are some of your own blind spots professionally, personally?
RC: This has come up a few times and I don’t think we’ve answered them very well. The one that we’re always kicking ourselves the most for is that our female characters never talk to each other in the movie. I think that makes us so mad that we missed that in hindsight. So that’s male privilege, right? We tried to write really really interesting three-dimensional female characters. So we didn’t pass the test. What’s that test?
DD: Bechdel Test.
So what areas personally do you think you can fix?
RC: I think all straight men are a work in progress. I just think the way that we built the institution of masculinity is horrifically detrimental. I think it’s a lifetime of unlearning. A lot of horrible things have been reinforced. I grew up brawlin’ with people too. That street culture that hyper-masculine culture and only being able to relate with anger and humor and nothing else is a big part of this film and a big part of our reality. Daveed and I are lucky that we have a special communication. We’re artsy as f*ck.
DD: Hella artsy. I’m in a relationship with someone who is also an actor and we obviously have very different experiences and I realize sometimes the way I get to approach a lot of things and it’s absolutely male privilege. I have this real fuck it attitude sometimes about meetings, about self-tapes. There’s a certain amount of leeway that men get. It’s somehow charming if I walk into the room I’m just here for the ride I didn’t read the lines, let’s joke about it, blah blah blah. My privilege is that can somehow come off as charming and she doesn’t get that. When my advice to her is careless, of course, that doesn’t work for her and I’ve told her that. So I’ve been trying to check that a lot in the ways that, particularly in Hollywood are very very different. Just trying to understand the stresses from her perspective are very very important.

17 Mar 2021 Radisson Hotel Roof top extension and changes to front of hotel, Glasgow, Scotland
Info from architect Alan Dunlop:
I discovered that almost all of the original concept and context analysis (Design and Access Statement) supporting the planning application for a roof extension to the Radisson Blu is taken directly from my own writing, without my acknowledgement or approval. Their document includes street views, block plans and multiple 3D views but concludes with the most elementary, least imaginative and crudest, commercially driven proposal.
the roof top extension is certainly overpowering:
Therefore, as the architect of the Radisson, I spent a few hours planning how you might extend the hotel in a way which is conducive to the ideas and context fundamental to its original design. Then made a few rough sketches.

The Watch House project is the renovation of a 250 year old listed structure in Crail, on the East Neuk of Fife and a landmark on the Fife Coastal Path. It’s a spectacular site and the building looks onto the North Sea and over to the Isle of May National Nature Reserve. On a clear day, and there are many, you can see down to North Berwick.
The project received planning permission and listed building consent at the turn of this year the drawings are the original planning drawings. I was in the process of forming a design team for the next stages, preparing a building warrant and construction detail and tender drawings when the lockdown started. As a double whammy, my client is a New York based financier, in April New York became the epicentre for COVID in the US and she has been grounded there since. We hope to start again, fingers crossed, in 2021 and complete in 2022

18 Mar 2020 Celtic Crossing as Sea Tunnel, Scotland / Northern Ireland, UK
From Alan Dunlop:
“An underground tunnel connects to the A77 and A75, and breaks the coastal edge at Lairds Bay and Port Mora. The structure that supports the tunnel entrance to the sea looks like it might have risen from the rocks, fragments and mass of loose stones at the base of the sea cliffs that run all along the Galloway coastline.
I believe it would be possible for a structure, tunnel or bridge to be designed to harness wave energy from the Irish Sea on a massive scale. So, in the drawing, pontoons support the tunnel below and are connected to the sea bed by cable stays. Each is set out to allow ships to pass through. Similar pontoon and tunnel structures are currently being developed and constructed as part of the Norwegian Coastal Highway, crossing fjords 500 metres deep but here the pontoons are designed also to generate tidal energy.
It is a sea tunnel not a bridge, stretching across the Irish Sea. The tunnel sits 12 metres below the wave line and is supported by and connected to the pontoons, not burrowed below the sea bed.”

The Stronghold
The Last Moments of Ezra and Miles
Listen instead of read --- > On YouTube
There were supposed to be four of them out there. Why would they think they could ever pull off something so dangerous with just two people? Ezra’s body cam shows the tragic final moments of Ezra and Miles. They were attempting to secure a site located in the ravine 3 miles from our fortified home.
Home was safe you know? As safe as you could get in the apocalypse crawling with either dead or almost dead crazed people and creatures. Everyone calls them zombies and the mutated, it sounds like movie nonsense but whatever's’ going on, those are the best words to describe this mess.
Home has been reinforced over the years with 8-foot-thick walls made of what we’ll just go ahead and call “concrete aggregate” more or less...mostly less. It was set up like a castle with crude arrow slits on the 30-foot wall that surrounded our 10-story stronghold. There’s even a 20-foot trench circling our stronghold.
From the outside, it’s a vertical drop with about a foot and a half in width at the bottom before it begins to incline at a 75-degree angle which would require one to use a rope if they hoped to get out. The entire trench is littered with broken glass, old barbed wire, rusty knives, split aluminum, and tons of other sharp debris that can cause severe lacerations and impalement. If that’s not bad enough, this trench surrounding our stronghold canals out to a small manmade stream that dumps into the river at the bottom of the ravine where Ezra and Miles were last alive. The thing that makes this worse is that the entire stronghold directs all the sewage from the community into the trench. It’s not enough sewage to completely engulf the debris but it is enough to puddle and stream out through the canal.
We don’t do this to be gross and we don’t do it for the zombies. It’s one thing falling into the trench and getting cut but it’s a nightmare getting cut and trying to heal with malnourishment, little rest, and when you add the factor of sewage in your wounds, you’re calling on a one-way ticket to bacterial infection and ultimately death. In the apocalypse, infection is like HIV...once anything gets infected, you just wait to die. There're no more meds or antibiotics anywhere except in military strongholds and in their transport vehicles. Everyone else has to try and treat bacterial infection with jungle remedies or whatever they can but even the methods that have been used for thousands of years have a very low success rate since the mutation causing zombies has crossed over to plant DNA. So much as touching some of these plants or breathing their pollen can lead to you becoming a zombie or worse one of those mutants.
The sewage at the bottom of the trench is to infect humans. Yes. Humans, packs of bandits roam the world now and anyone jumping our fence will fall directly into the trench. The only way in or out of the stronghold is the opening of the C-130 bay doors. We literally have a fortress built around a military cargo plane. We can go into that another time but to leave our safe home on a mission that is doomed to fail just didn’t make sense for Ezra. Miles would do anything to impress someone but Ezra was smarter.
Ezra’s body cam showed that he took a scout vehicle equipped with a shotgun, 60 shells, a high-power rifle with 25 armor piercing rounds. The scout vehicle had a small suture kit with some homemade antiseptics along with “The Shot”. The Shot rapidly flushes your system of everything, good or bad, in a matter of seconds which comes in handy if you get bit or scratched too much by a mutant. If you don’t have The Shot you will mutate and try to eat everyone’s face. A zombie bite can be healed if you don’t let it get infected which leaves your only resort to giving your bite a bleach bath which is unpleasant to say the least.
Ezra’s vehicle contained three capsules of amphetamines, otherwise called an amp tab, which is used in the field to counteract fatigue, loss of stamina and survive with no sleep. Some people abuse them and try to steal them but with our new protocols those numbers are dropping. There were three sticks of dynamite, three RC bombs with one remote, and one cyanide capsule.
The plan itself was simple enough but executing an undermanned mission in those deadly conditions don’t make any since at all. Miles and Ezra were to drive their own vehicles to the site and back in order to spread out losses. If one of them didn’t make it back at least we still had the other. That’s how all the missions go at the stronghold except Miles and Ezra were already down two men. Being down two men is a lot considering 80% of our missions lose, on average, one scout vehicle. They were supposed to drive three miles to the ravine, locate the overrun military supply convoy, and secure the area. All the noise driving the scout vehicles attract everything for miles. They were supposed to drive as little as possible in the ravine so they needed to get as close to their site as possible before entering the ravine since sound travels further down the ravine. They hoped to reduce the number of zombies and mutants attracted to their location by doing this and it seemed like a good idea not to alert every creature in the ravine to their presence. These creatures don’t just get bored if you’re going too fast. They keep running probably following the zombies in front of them but if you had to drive somewhere, you always have to be on alert for at least 8 hours to take care of any following hordes once you reach a stopping point.
As soon as their location was secured, they were supposed to pack as much of the military supplies into their scout vehicles and bring it back to base. These military convoys are littered far and wide. They are very dangerous to approach because of the huge amount of ammo in each convoy. Something about the smell or vibration of gunpowder attracts mutants and the zombies follow the mutants. The convoy also transfers food guns and medical supplies but with all the bandits and creatures it would be a death sentence to travel without ammunition and stockpiles of it. The military has something like an 85% success rate when moving convoys and we are always looking for that 15% before they send out recovery teams. That’s what Miles and Ezra were after, the supplies.
Miles sped off in the wrong direction while Ezra was still getting his equipment in order causing him to waste gas and expose himself and the stronghold’s resources to unnecessary risk. Miles was always doing things like this, acting before he thinks and pays for it regardless. While making a U-turn, Miles screams over the radio, “Damnit! Ezra I just hit a mutant with those flower things on it! I have to get out! I breathed in some of that dusty crap!”
By this time Ezra had already began driving in the right direction and was forced to pull off to the side of the road to wait for Miles to send his en route confirmation or a distress call for assistance. Everybody knows that when you see flowers growing on a mutant you stay away. Those flowers, when ruffled, release a dense pollen cloud into the atmosphere and breathing too much or prolonged skin contact is fatal and will eventually mutate you. “What’s your status Miles?” Ezra asks over the radio.
Miles replies “I’m getting back in now but my windshield is gone.” Miles laughs, “That smelly bastard broke my damn windshield but I'm- AAH! There’s still an arm in here with flowers on it.” Miles kicks the arm out the passenger side of the car. Miles goes to tell Ezra he is on his way when he sees one of those big mutants with flowers running towards him from two blocks away followed by at least 30 zombies. “Oh man Ezra I need to get out of here.” He runs back to the driver side of the vehicle with his finger still pressing the talk button on the radio, “FUCK! One of those werewolves! AHH!”
Ezra pops into first gear and makes a loud U-turn in the direction where Miles got attacked. When Ezra heard “werewolf” he hurried to help Miles, something few would do. Not because Miles was unlikeable, in fact everybody liked Miles he was always making somebody laugh, a lot of times at the peril of someone else but everyone knew he was always kidding. Nobody liked doing runs with Miles though because of his loose cannon spontaneous behavior. But that’s not even why most people wouldn't go back.
When you hear werewolf, all you do is hope that there’s someone behind you to get caught by it so you can make your escape. Human sacrifice is the most effective way to escape the werewolves. These aren’t werewolves in the mythological sense. It’s just what people call them since they remind everyone of how werewolves would act if they were real. It doesn’t matter what kind of moon there is these things are out there. They look effectively humanoid but their arms are longer than they should be with no hands just jagged broken protruding bones or what's left of them. These things are known to dig into underground bunkers by the thousands digging until they had no hands and it was just arm bones. They would always find the ventilation shafts so people stopped relying on the bunkers very quickly. The legs are very muscular allowing them to leap over 15 feet into the air. The face is just disgusting with eyes that look like the skin was cut away with a steak knife to expose their pure yellow glow. Their noses look like a completely flattened pig's nose dripping with orange snot or something. The snot stuff drips into and passed the mouth that gapes wider than any person could ever and down their pointed chin.
They have no teeth because these things put their mouth on their victim’s entire face and just suck out their brain and blood through their eyes and nose. Anything a person ate before also comes up along with pieces of their intestines and after that they’re left with no eyes, brain, or blood with their intestines hanging from their mouth. So, their behavior isn't exactly like a werewolf but they sure move like them and have otherworldly physical strength. This is why most people wouldn’t have gone back to help Miles, fear.
Ezra knew he had to hurry but he also knew this would cost precious fuel, putting at risk the entire mission not to mention his own life. Ezra pulls up to Miles and the werewolf sucker thing and rolls down his window. A sawed-off shotgun points out towards miles and the mutant. Two quick shots, BANG BANG, sends the mutant leaping from the back of Miles and sprawling around the ground. Miles regaining his composer limps to his own vehicle as Ezra gets out of his vehicle to throw a knife 5 meters into the side of the mutant’s head causing the creature to twitch a few times and then stop moving. “Get your shit together we have to leave now!” Ezra yells as the horde closed in less than a half block away.
The two went speeding off and eventually made it to the ravine but the fuel that was wasted caused Ezra to make another deadly choice. He decided they would have to enter the ravine sooner than planned to save gas but risk a larger horde descending upon their mission location. As soon as they arrive, they begin searching the closest of the military convoy vehicles to see if they can utilize any of the arsenal to secure their location. With less than a minute to get their bearings Ezra quietly tells Miles, “Place those landmines,” as Miles begins placing them Ezra points, “No, put them in the path. The path is where the zombies are going to pour in the most from.”
One of those loud slimy slug-like mutants dug its way up out of the ground, they look like a slug or a worm but they have this circular mouth with serrated teeth. It can create a low pitch tone so loud that your lungs vibrate and this tells every zombie and mutant in the area where to go. If you get close to these things they go back into the ground and spray a fountain of excrement as their rear end slips into the darkness and this excrement chemically burns through any known organic matter.
Ezra throws a grenade at the slimy slug thing before it could make any noise. Direct hit except the grenade itself made a lot of noise attracting the creatures in the immediate area. Risk versus reward, it was a better call since the slug’s low frequency can travel for miles calling a much bigger problem. According to Ezra’s body cam he was also trying to lure the creatures to the mines that Miles had placed but suddenly a few unseen slug things let out their roar right after the explosion. This was bad. Ezra tosses another grenade at a few of the zombies in the path of the mines and then another. The first grenade blows the limbs off of a zombie and half the face of another. The third explodes as one of those oversized fat mutants that stand 10 feet walks into the blast radius. These fat boys, as so they're called, are tough to take down even with explosives. Now three more fat boys are in range as Ezra throws another grenade in the crowd of fat boys. Jackpot! Four fat boys 4 grenades but he was down to 2 grenades and there was no telling how much longer they had to fight. Another fat boy comes running through the smoke, Ezra throws a cooked grenade and it blows off the leg of the fat boy. Two more fat boys approach the noise and Ezra has no choice but to use his final grenade. Another skillful throw taking out the last two fat boys along with the bulk of a horde of about 10 zombies. Ezra hears the howls of the werewolves and quietly retreats to the military vehicle. He grabs as many boxes of 12-gauge shells as he could hold and a few of the armor piercing rounds that he could see. He now had 30 armor piercing rounds and 90 shotgun shells.
Ezra looks down at the mines that he told Miles to place. “You didn’t activate the mines! Go activate the damn mines!” Ezra yells, panicked, at Miles.
“Oh shit?” Exclaims Miles, “I didn’t know you had to activate mines.”
“So what? You think they, themselves the mines, know when it's time to become lethal and when not to?” Ezra sneers sarcastically.
“Yea smartass because sarcasm is going to save our asses out here.” Miles shoots back.
Rolling his eyes, Ezra snaps “Yup! About as much as a deactivated land mine.”
Miles remotely activates the mines just in time as a werewolf sucker thing leaps from the distance only to be blown backwards by the explosion from Miles’s land mine. Three zombies set off another land mine in the distance as Ezra fires his shotgun finishing off the nearby zombies and sucker. He runs up to a zombie laying on the ground picks up a huge stick and smashes the zombie’s skull. He fires his shotgun at one of those slug things that had made the noise before, killing it but according to the audio there seemed to be at least two more lurking around the immediate area. He shoots another zombie in the face executing it while it lay on the ground squirming with no legs blown off by Ezra’s grenade from earlier.
With some breathing room Miles resupplies from the military vehicle as Ezra inches forward to assess their situation and plan their next move. Ezra sneaks to his scout vehicle and takes the last three grenades he brought and wraps a bandage around a cut he must have received in his scuffle with the horde. Ezra places one of the stronghold’s homemade RC or Remote-control bombs. It's basically a toy remote-control car rigged into a bomb except the controller doesn’t move the car, it detonates the bomb. The only down side is that the bomb has to be manually placed since it’s too heavy for the remote-control car to drive it around, if even it were wired in that way. On the plus side, it makes a BIG boom and also works great as a diversion.
Once he placed the RC bomb, he throws a grenade in the direction of a horde of fat boys and suckers mostly in order to lure them to his trap. His grenade kills four zombies and two suckers but there are at least five suckers and six fat boys still in that horde. With the horde closer now, Ezra remaining undetected by the creatures, he tosses his second-to-last grenade into the middle of the horde and at that moment right behind him, Miles placed a huge firecracker that screamed and blasted off for a whole minute.
Ezra yells at Miles, “What the hell are you doing?” He runs back, aborting his plan. “Are you trying to get me killed?”
Miles yelps, “Oh my god! I'm so sorry. I thought that was a homemade land mine too!”
The horde was coming, there was a sucker 10 meters behind Ezra and he was 20 meters behind his RC bomb. Damnit Miles! Ezra pressed the button to detonate the RC bomb. The sucker had already cleared the bomb and was gaining on Ezra, three meters from his back, Ezra swings around and fires his shotgun and misses the sucker. Ezra is tackled and taken to the ground as the sucker opens its mouth dripping with the orange snot that flows from its nose. The sucker clamps its mouth onto the side of Ezra’s face. Ezra picks up a nearby stone that luckily was flat enough to squeeze under the mouth flesh of the sucker. He gets his hand into the mutant’s mouth and subsequently shoves his entire arm down the creature’s throat. It squirms and bounces to its feet at the same time Ezra makes it to his feet. Ezra picks up the big stick from earlier and swings it at the sucker with full connection putting the mutant into a daze nearly causing it to collapse. Ezra seizes the opportunity to execute it while it was vulnerable so he tackles the sucker while using the big stick in two hands he thrusts it to the mouth of the sucker and the mutant bites down. Ezra wrestles it to the ground, puts one foot on one side of the stick and stands himself up placing his other foot on the other end of the stick crushing the skull of the sucker. Ezra stomps on its skull two more times for good measure.
Another sucker right behind him taking him out of his frenzy, Ezra jumps and rolls back to his feet and dives behind a vehicle all the while careful where he stepped. The mutant leapt for him but set off a land mine which blew it backwards although it did not kill it. Ezra comes from behind the vehicle and fires a shot but misses. Another shot is a direct hit stunning the mutant, Ezra promptly bashed in its skull with the butt of his gun. He sees four more of those horrible creatures approaching with three fat boys so he throws one last grenade. It was hard to tell what he hit and he didn’t have time to worry, he just ran back the opposite direction dodging mines as they blew up behind him from the suckers chasing him. These mines took out some of them but one breaks free, Ezra turns and fires a shot. Hit but he was too far and outside his gun’s effective range so he turns to continue running reloading.
Two suckers were practically upon the two of them, Miles opens fire, Ezra fires the kill shot to the sucker out front as Miles lays suppressive fire on the one still coming, knocking it back giving Ezra time to reload. Ezra fires two quick shots and the mutant stops moving. Another one leaps from seemingly nowhere leaving behind the silhouette of another running directly behind it. The first one almost takes Ezra to the ground but he dodged with no time to spare as he turns and fires a shot, Miles also fires a shot at the other one which suffers a heavy head injury but keeps coming. The shot fired by Ezra knocks the first mutant unconscious. Ezra could not kill it for sure because the one Miles was shooting at finally broke through while Miles was reloading. Ezra fires at it knocks it unconscious and as he makes the decision to go finish both of them off, another one sprints at him along with a fat boy. Immediate change of plans since that fat boy charged him, he had to fall backwards stumble to his feet and roll out of the way. He moved just in time as he was able to swing around and pull the trigger. Click. It was empty. He panics a little and as he reaches into his pouch for shells, he fumbles and three fall on to the ground. He turns around sprinting frantically trying to reload his gun as a sucker jumps off of a land mine the explosion killing it instantly but the force knocks Ezra on his face.
The other mutants chasing him must have been affected too since they weren't directly upon him in that instant. Those few seconds between firing an empty weapon and getting knocked off balance was enough time for those other two suckers from before to regain consciousness. One of those things leapt onto Ezra but in the same exact moment it would connect, Ezra had placed an RC bomb rolled out of range of the explosion and was only hit by the force as he pressed the detonate button killing one of the two suckers. Miles continued to fire what sounds like 5.56 into the remaining sucker but it was just too agile and it was upon him in seconds taking him to the ground. Miles rolled away since the momentum of the collision sent the mutant and himself rolling in different directions. Ezra saw the shot and took it, blowing off the creature’s head and it stopped moving. Another sucker came with six more fat boys to add to the fat boy they were already dealing with.
Miles gets hit hard in the ribs by a fat boy and almost collapses. At this moment Ezra seems to see a horrendous wound on Mile’s back. There was a bone exposed and his flesh had been ripped away but he was still fighting. He manages to pull himself away from the fat boy as Ezra fires a shot from a distance making the sucker flinch. The fat boy slams the spot on the ground Miles had been crouched after the blow to his ribs but instead of crushing Miles, it nearly killed the sucker and looks to have damaged the other three fat boys that were near it. Ezra turns because he hears Miles's scream. There’s a sucker poised over him about to suck out his brain, Ezra fires a risky shot knocking the mutant unconscious.
Miles doesn’t feel the burn on his leg where he caught some of the shotgun spray that saved his life, he didn’t have time to. One of those fat boys saw that Miles was injured and he just charged. The fat boy first stepped on Miles’s left foot pressing the roof of his foot parallel to his shin. The fat boy’s weight seems to liquify and flatten Mile’s leg. The second step the fat boy took pressed down on Mile’s right shoulder and right pectoral muscle. The right side of his chest was flattened as his left lung began to squeeze out of a golf ball size puncture wound under his armpit, a debilitating wound he’d received from the last sucker that attacked him. The skin around the wound tore and ripped as more of his organs were forced out. His body shook violently until the fat boy slipped in the puddle of Miles and falling on him flattening Miles’s body from his elbows to the top of his head.
Ezra was instantly demoralized enough but the fat boy, being surprisingly agile as they were, jumped to its feet and picked up miles in one hand. The fat boy took a bite of Mile’s head like it was jerky and after another bite, Mile’s head was gone. It must have been too hard for Ezra to watch; he ran as fast as he could while the other fat boys moved even closer boxing him in. He swings around and fires a shot at the sucker closing in on him and its badly injured another shot and it’s unconscious but another one comes running before Ezra can finish it off so he turns around and makes a run for it while reloading. The suckers are on his tail he swings and fires, knocks one back and the other one slows down, so he executes the one that got knocked back with the heel of his boot while firing a shot at the remaining sucker and it stops moving.
Ezra makes his way out of being trapped by the fat boys but he is exhausted and he has a wound that’s causing him to limp although his body cam doesn’t show the wound itself. As he gets around the fat boys, one of those loud slug things come from under the ground but Ezra shoots it right away. By now there are three fat boys directly behind Ezra, sprinting to him as he takes his first amp tab. He chews it up and swishes it around with his spit as he instantly feels energized, he swallows and feels the rush he needs to keep going. He sprints up 20 meters from the fat boys and pulls out the high-powered rifle but doesn’t take the shot. He takes aim again, fires, and misses. One of the fat boys are upon him swings its huge hand, Ezra ducks filled with adrenaline from nearly losing his head he quickly reloads his rifle and runs around the fat boys. At that moment a zombie jumped from behind a fat boy and tackled Ezra to the ground biting a huge chunk of flesh from his neck. A fat boy was close behind and nearly trampled him like the other had done to Miles. Two more fat boy charged in and one slammed down on the flowers that were growing on one of the other fat boy’s back. Ezra being so close to the collision was completely engulfed in the mutant pollen in which caused him to have to administer the shot immediately. Right when he injected it into his stomach, Ezra began urinating and defecating as he was running, he then began to vomit violently and this all happened for seven seconds until he was pure again. Pure with no mutations.
Ezra is able to regain his composure and fire off another shot, direct hit one of those fat boys fell down but didn’t die. Another shot hits but doesn’t kill the fallen fat boy. Two fat boys nearly crush Ezra as he rolls out of their path. He swings around but doesn’t take the shot. Too many zombies reaching and chasing too close behind and armor piercing rounds are too valuable to fire hastily. He pulls out his shotgun and blasts the legs off of one of the zombies and it falls to the ground but another zombie nearly grabs him as he turns towards it and blows off its head. Three shots and he’s blown the legs off of four more zombies but the fat boys are getting closer every time he swings around for the shot. Ezra runs so that the fat boys line up and pulls out his rifle. One shot through the skulls of two fat boys but only one dropped. With no time to finish off the fallen fat boy, two more fat boys rush Ezra, another near miss as he manages to dodge death again.
As he tries to out maneuver the fat boys, he gets a deep scratch from a random zombie and blood squirts dramatically. Running and applying pressure to his cut he misfires his rifle wasting ammo but pulls out his shotgun and takes the legs off of a mutant. Pulling out his rifle he fires two shots at one fat boy and it stops moving. With the other fat boys close behind he looks for more ammo in the military vehicle. He only had 36 shells and 25 armor piercing rounds but he managed to grab an extra box of shotgun shells before the fat boys descended on is position, he fires at one fat boy and immediately jumps on his back holding the fat boy’s head he sliced the throat repeatedly until it was decapitated. Ezra fell from the creature's stature and onto the ground. He fires once again hitting another fat boy he attempts to finish this one off the same way but the mutant pollen from the flowers on his back were agitated making it impossible to breath. So, Ezra ran as fast as he could swung around and shot the closest fat boy. He was then able to finish that one off as well with no time to spare as one of those loud slug things roared, two fat boys charged Ezra’s position. Narrowly escaping he fires two more shots dropping both fat boys but there were too many zombies around for Ezra to safely finish off the fat boys so now he has to risk them getting back up. Badly wounded from the horde of zombies attracted to the noise Ezra tries his hardest to limp away.
Ezra fires a shot with his shotgun and misses but the second shot blasts off one of the zombie’s legs another shot drops a third zombie. Running to his van he grabs morphine and the suture kit, reloads his gun and tries to put distance between himself and the fat boys. Two charge him and he just fires, both fat boys drop as he finishes off the first, then shooting the other dead.
They set out in the morning but now it was night time and there are always more zombies out at night. After clearing the area Ezra had some breathing room to restock on amphetamine capsules and the shots from the military vehicles. With his ammo stock replenished and an AK-47 he found in the military vehicle, he rushes into killing more of those loud slug things along with a zombie infested with flowers. The shotgun blast made the pollen from the zombie produce a cloud 5 feet around the zombie. More zombies begin rushing Ezra and he beats the ones that he can with a stick to keep the noise down but he has no option but to shoot the infested mutants and the slug things. He kills seven of these things but four loud slugs let out their roar almost toppling him over they were so close. He shoots three of them with an AK he found.. Through the dusty cloud Ezra sees a sucker...two suckers...four suckers...one tackles him ripping a gash in his forearm Ezra yells out in pain.
Ezra quickly returns to his feet and full out sprints taking another amp tab and it picks him up once more sending his heart racing as fast as he wished his legs would carry him. One after another each sucker took turns trying to tackle him and at this point there were five of the bastards hot on his heels. Swinging around with his shotgun he pulls the trigger, one of the suckers take a heavy head injury and falls down. Three others leap rapidly in succession in desperate attempt to bring Ezra to the ground but he is able to evade them with little to no time to spare each escape. It took 15 or 20 of their attempts to fail in order to get a hold on Ezra, he finally has the courage to turn and shoot nailing one and dropping it but not killing it. Two of the suckers simultaneously launched an attack and the only way Ezra managed to evade them was to fall onto the ground and roll backwards. He tried his hardest to steady his weapon after getting to his feet and just fired! He missed. Damnit! Ezra continues to run as fast as he can but the amp tab’s effect was beginning to produce a less potent response due to his growing fatigue combined with flesh ripping and bone breaking injuries he’s already sustained.
It takes those sucking wolf things nine attempts to finally land a hit on Ezra. Ezra had moved with such agility the entire time I’ve known him and throughout his body cam footage. This wound slowed him down he needed to take “the shot” again but it was unbearable and even if he wanted to take it there were now eight of those sucker things less than a foot behind him. And this cut was an inch deep his back was already soaking wet with blood pouring from his wound. His legs give out as one of the sucker things smashes its arm bone into Ezra’s calf muscle, practically filleting it from the bone. As Ezra falls to the ground pores on the mutants’ backs begin to spray that dust. Just then one of the mutants jams its arm bone through Ezra’s bladder clear through and out his tail bone. As his bowels evacuate Ezra’s body shakes violently for three seconds and then stiffened like a board.
Ezra’s body cam shows the werewolf sucker things fighting over his corpse until the lens was destroyed from another arm bone going through his left collar bone and out his lower right ribcage. After that, it’s just black.
