Time for some time shenanigans?
Here is an idea.
Time is an interesting thing but not something one should mess with unless your the being ruling over it. And in a moment of true Clockwork No! Clockwork Yes! Fashion. The ruler of time decided that something needed to be done to help his king heal once more after having lost his family.
And as someone who lived millennial of years and no real understanding of humans aside from what he sees from watching timelines, Clockwork came up with the, in his opinion, perfect solution. Deaging his king into a toddler and sending him into the past to expirence some familial love. He had made sure his little king was getting picked up by the man with an adoption problem. A family with a lot of siblings for his king to love and to get loved back.
Now, that would all be fine and dandy if Clockwork had remembered to at least seal or erase his kings memories. The problem was he didn't. But really, what could his little king with his memories but the mind of a toddler do?
Apparently a lot. Espacially with the help of the family that picked him up.
Okay, plan B. Clockwork was going to send all his king's rogues to keep him and his vigilante family occupied so his king would stop attempting to get to Amity Park and change his own past and focus more on his new family.
Meanwhile the bat clan is freaking out. Their newest baby brother of 3 years old appears to be the constant target of other worldy attacks they barely managed to protect him from. Why were these weird beings after a little toddler that hasn't harmed anyone?! And why in the name of anything good did it look like the toddler was okay with fighting them too?!

Here We Go Again
Tim-DannyTimDANNY started down at himself as his mind re-organized itself. Memories he didn't have before suddenly there in his head.
A whole lifetime as someone else another teen hero Phantom, his other family, friends, growing up
The Accident his death.
Protecting his town
Fighting ghosts
Fighting humans
Dani
Telling his parent
Becoming an adult
Becoming the High Ghost King
He blinked, something was missing
What was wrong? Why was he here in another life remembering now. Both his lives meshed together inside his head, everything finally sliding into place until he could almost hear a *click* and he no longer felt like two different people in one body.
He was Tim, Red Robin who used to be Danny, King Phantom.
A flash of green caught his eye, looking up he saw a small green note
Danny, You will understand soon enough,as to why you are remembering now, try once more in your efforts, 100th times the charm or in this case Dani's rebirth. Be safe, gather your strength. Return home safely young King C.W
Looking up past the note he saw his last failed attempt at cloning Kon, stepping forward he reached out and changed the DNA sample now being his DNA in the mix.

Kon/Bats seeing Dani floating: "UM!?!"
Danny-Tim is once again a half-a after some plot convenience with the LOA and the Pits: " Oh she gets that from my side."

It's always graveyards. Why is it always graveyards? They're creepy as hell and, well... that's it. On the bright side, the Protection Spirits watching the gates recognize him and realize the danger he's in. Well, maybe he wasn't in real danger because the Bats and Birds don't really do the whole purposefully harming civilians things, but they are scary as hell! Chasing him down like a bat straight outta hell- obviously he was gonna run! They cornered him! Maybe he'll invest in getting them lessons in how to interact with people in and out of costume?
Honestly, Nightwing, Danny expected better of you. At least Red Hood and Signal know how to treat innocents.
Here's the thing about Protection and Guardian Spirits, though. They don't like intruders. If you're running from something and you don't have time to ask permission to enter, you best say "thank you" and bring them shiny things on your next visit. If you do have time to ask permission, you ask permission. If they think you're a threat or rude, they won't let you enter whatever they're guarding.
"Thank you," Danny said as he slowed to a walk further into the graveyard, the sound of the gates slamming closed behind him confirmation that the Bat and his gaggle wouldn't be following him in.
Wasting no time, Danny pulled a piece of chalk from his pocket. It was a handy little thing he'd picked up during his stay in the House of Mysteries. Draw and door, tell it where you wanna go, open it, and go through! Beetlejuice style. Though, unlike what the Handbook for the Recently Deceased says, these doors won't actually open a door to the afterlife. He fixed that tiny glitch a while ago.
Anyway, a quick few chalk lines on the side of a mausoleum later, and Danny was opening a door to Fawcett, Philadelphia. Probably not the best choice, considering that he was trying to stay away from the Justice League, but it's better than Metropolis.
"Whoa." Damn it! He should've stayed home. "What was that, mister?"
Danny made sure the door closed behind him, praying for strength. Why did he feel like several deities were laughing at him? "Hey, kid. Can you, um, maybe not say anything about that?"
The kid, short brown hair and a red jacket stood out the most to Danny for some reason, seemed very amused. "You're gonna have to buy my silence."
Again, Danny let out a quiet, long suffering sigh. "Coffee is so not worth it." Looking at the kid, he said, "Alright, fine. I was getting coffee anyway, I'll buy ya lunch. Know any good places?"
Grinning, the kid cheered, "Hell yeah! Follow me!"
Resigned, Danny followed after the kid, easily keeping pace. About a block later, he figured he should probably get the kid's name. "I'm Danny."
"Billy."
"No last name?"
"Fae rules, dude. What's your excuse?"
He had to give it to him. "Touché."
Another three blocks of walking, Billy finally stopped at a cafe. It was a quaint place with stained white brick and a dark grey roof. There were metal chairs and tables outside the building surrounded by a wrought iron fence. The table umbrellas and the awning over the black door were light blue, matching the curtains in the inside.
The inside walls were painted baby blue with a white ceiling and a pinewood floor. The tables and chairs were all stained black with light pink cushions and table cloths. The curtains, as observed before, were all baby blue, tied back with baby pink ribbons. The lights were barely yellow, giving the room a warm feel. The counters were white with black paneling on the outside and white granite as the tops.
"Welcome in," the young man at the register greeted with a smile, "What can I get you two started with today?"
Danny envied the man. He'd obviously not been doing this long enough to gain the veteran's shine to his eye. He turned to look at the menu after telling Billy to get whatever he wanted. A mistake he'll probably pay for. "I'd like a large Red Eye, equal parts coffee and espresso, with cinnamon, honey, chocolate syrup, mint, and vodka, please."
The 'newbie' light in the man's eyes dimmed a little bit. "Um, we don't carry vodka." Glad that's the only thing he's worried about. Priorities.
Danny clicked his tongue. "Oh, well, it was worth a shot. I'd like everything else, though, please. Mix it at your own discretion."
"Alright," he was very valiant to go back to grinning, "Anything else?"
Danny motioned for Billy and the kid stepped up. "Can I get a large mocha, three chocolate chip cookies, and two sandwiches?"
The blond entered the order. "Of course! That'll be $25.37." A quick card swipe from Danny. "Thank you very much, we'll have your order out to you soon!"
The two didn't say a word as they chose a table in the corner. Danny let Billy take the seat that was open to the rest of the cafe so he wouldn't feel cornered. He had a good view of the door, though, so he wasn't complaining.
"So, how'd you do that?" Billy asked after they'd gotten their orders.
"How'd I do what?" Danny sipped his drink.
"How'd you walk outta that wall? It's solid!"
"Magic."
"I guessed that much."
"Then why'd you ask?"
"Will you teach me?"
"No."
"You didn't even think about it!"
"Okay," He paused. "No."
"Not fair." he pouted.
Putting his drink on the table, Danny summed as much fake-it-till-you-make-it energy as he could. "Magic isn't a toy and takes years of practice to get a handle on, not to mention you have to actually have an aptitude for it before you can even try. Besides, I don't know you nearly well enough to trust you with anything else."
Billy finished the cookie he was eating. "I can do it! You just gotta teach me!"
Another sigh that Danny had stopped counting. "Look, you seem like a good kid, but I'm not gonna teach you magic."
"Why not!"
"However," he continued, ignoring the demand, "I'm not gonna leave ya fully defenselessness."
"What do you mean?" Billy backed away slightly, his eyes narrowing as he moved to be able to run quickly.
Another sip. "Based off of the dirt you're covered in, the grease in your hair, and the overall poor condition of your clothes, I'm gonna bet that you're a street kid. So," he pulled a small card from his pocket, very aware that Billy was watching his hand aptly, "I'm going to leave you with this."
Slowly, the brunet took it and turned it over. "What it is?"
The white card had the initials DP in the middle, circled by an Ouroboros. The initials were completely solid, but the snake of the Ouroboros was made up of tiny runes of protection and health and healing and good fortune.
"My calling card. If you're ever in danger, hold that to your chest and ask for help. I'll be there."
Still obviously suspicious, Billy took a moment to scrutinize the card. It was cute to watch the kid act like he knew what he was looking at or for. When he seemed satisfied, he shoved the card into the inner pocket sewn into his jacket. "Thanks."
"No problem, kid," Pulling out his phone, Danny saw the time and stood, "I've gotta go now. I assume I've sufficiently bought your silence on the whole magic thing?"
Billy grinned, "I guess, but you gotta come visit me, okay?"
He chuckled, "Sure thing. See ya."

Dani should Kidnap The Clones.
It's basicly protective custody. Preemptive child services, if you will. NONE of these fuckers out here makin adorable clone baby just cause they want kids!
*kicks down the door to your shady lab* Knock Knock! ITS THE POLICE! *Walker's Shock troopers swarm the place as Dani secures the kids*
Look me in the eyes. You KNOW he'd love an excuse to enforce The Rules on people technically outside his jurisdiction. It's for The Children(tm)! Why, he simply had no CHOICE!
Meanwhile? Dani is shoving all these mal-adjusted Murder Clones into her Lair? Which is? Basicly a Door style Lair she hid inside Danny's Lair for safe keeping. It's shoved behind a vending machine just outside the observatory. And the inside? Goes on for DAYS.
Like national parks and every beautiful beach she ever came across. She smashed together the BEST sights and places she's found in her travels, like a collection. Always adding more. New waterfalls, new noodle shops, new fields of wine grapes. It's... beautiful. Snapshots of every wonderous little thing about Earth, stitched together.
They can't hurt anyone. Can't achieve their "objectives". Are just treated like actual individuals and the children they truely are. Are surrounded by other Clones. So it's NORMAL here. Just? All of it.
But also?
Dani and Dan? Teaming up to make History's Scariest Adoption Agency(TM). Dan runs it. Dan wants to know why EXACTLY you want a kid. Explain yourself to Dan. What are your references? Qualifications. He's doing a home visit to inspect the premises. He BETTER not find any suspicious Labs.
And? It just? Appears out of nowhere. It's powered by Zone Bullshit. One second you're thinking "oh woe is me D:> I will never have a child to fill my lovely home, because of all my Superhero Secrets and also because government bureaucracy!" And the next?
.....wasn't that an out of business taco bell? "Zone Adoptions"?
"....Free Clone Baby?"
Okay that is HIGHLY suspicious and as a hero you are basicly legally obligated to investigate. But now it's bigger on the inside? Fancy waiting room? You are being interrogated? Wait, no, you're supposed to be the one doing the-?
Somehow? You leave with your Clone Son from another Dimension. And a pamphlet. You're scheduled for a home visit in three days. You... you never told them where you live.
Somehow that doesn't seem like it will slow them down.
Did the Fae just Suprise Baby you with a clone baby? Can they DO that? W... what's happening? What days is this? Who ARE YOU PEOPLE?! HUH!?!?
Just? Imagine. IMAGINE. I was gonna say Bruce... but?
Damian.
He finds himself... pondering What Could Have Been. Had his Clones not wanted him dead. Wondering if he could have saved them. If, perhaps, he had found them as infants. Raised them. Could he have given them a good life? Been a good father?
He gets emotional. Fatherly. He's about 14.
Dan's been around Ghosts too long to remember how humans age or how age relates to development. This one TALKS like An Adult. Must be one. Probably just short.
And Damian? Never backs down. The second Dan starts challenging him? His character is flawless and his morals divine. He has never done anything wrong, ever, in his LIFE. Fuck you. And on TOP of that? He not only will be the SINGLE GREATEST FATHER TO EVER FATHER, his home is the most loving and beloved ON THE PLANET!
In entirety of EARTH'S history, no less!
....what are they arguing about?
*is handed a baby and kicked out of Dan's adoption agency*
See you in a few days!
(o.o ) *happy gurgling from the baby* *Damian.exe has stopped working*
Smash cut, after Damian speed runs his stages of grief at his own Dumbass Life Choices, to his rocking back up at the Manor like? Congratulations, Father. I have brought you your first grandson! Do Not ask how I obtained him. It was likely dubiously legal but I will not be returning him. We have bonded.
And just? Annihilating the collective Bats on one go. You did what? You have What?! That is a baby! WHY IS THERE A BABY?! How is there a baby!? WHOS BABY!? *sirens going off and everyone panicking*
Will Damian be allowed to KEEP the Baby? Ha! Hell no. Bruce will. Damian is a child. But it will be a Needlessly Dramatic Bat Cold War Of Dramatic Drama to pry that small cherubic baby from his grip long enough for Bruce to fill out the paperwork.
Child thieving bastard that he is. How dare he. That is Damian's SON! D:<
*happy oblivious baby noises as Alfred feeds him in the background, while the Bats do their Dramatic Custody War*

I'm a Grandpa? Again?!
My brain got away from me. srry
This might be a horrible, horrible idea that will have so many butterfly and directs effects on the DC canon that I know nothing about but...
Consider this: Bruce is Danny's clone/test-tube baby.
Danny has lived for many, many years and somewhere along the lines, he got his DNA stolen again (in his human form mind you) by someone and they made a clone/baby (most likely cause the child would destabilise without more DNA. Human Danny is just 1/3 of the DNA he has). Maybe the League and Ra's is responsible. Maybe some other party I have no knowledge about. Maybe it was GIW. But it happens.
Anyway, whoever succeeded, had some intentions with the clone if it had powers. He did not. Was a failure and was dumped as a 3yo in Gotham. Tom and Martha Wayne found him and adopted the child.
Now, Danny doesn't know it. He just goes around, living his best life with his partner/(s), works somewhere new every 5-6 years or so, trying out new professions when he wants. When his DNA got yonked, he was a practicing cook. By the time Batman is old enough with all his kids he is a doctor or something.
Let's throw in the Ghost King for fun. Love the trope. Could be just him being a super strong and respected Ghost in the Realms who helps himself to Pariah's treasury. Not like the guy needed it anyway.
So, YEARS pass. All parties are unaware. Meta human protection happens. Ecto Acts get ruled out automatically by the Government somewhere in a list of all stuff that change. The Ghosts haven't been sighted for over 30 years. The Government disbanded GIW wven esrlier just cause they were a moneh draining leach. The JL didn't even pay that much attention honestly (let's say Batman wasn't there for some reason to check the final copy), just one more thing that changed for the better in their eyes.
So, Danny and his kind are now legally in the clear. Does he so something with it? Well, not much. Just uses his powers more freely. His rogues don't find the Living Realm all that interesting now and just come to Phantom to play. Except Sculker. That ass is still unbearable.
...
I got sidetracked from my original idea. Anyway-
...
Damian in school has to do the ancestory assignment. And finds out that he has a weird relation to this Random DudeTM. (Maybe Tom's and Martha's DNA was indeed used in the process of creation. Who knows, maybe it was their doing all along in the name of Doctor Science. Idk. All options are fun) Came out of nowhere. The relation is unclear too.
That gets brought up to Father. Father is surprised. Investigation happens.
The Bats are flabbergasted by the results.
Danny gets the news that he is a surprise Granpa again (Dani was the first one to come with a grandchild out of nowhere. Adopted. You know what? Let it be Cass. Let her have a traveling super mom).
#dpxdc#dc x dp#dp x dc#danny phantom#dcxdp#dc x dp crossover#Bruce is Danny's clone/baby#he was unaware#Gasp#Batman and Robin will be limknal to hell for sure now#sure#the human half has been used but human Fenton isn't normal either#....we have potential Baby halfas everyone#maybe THATS how they find Danny#the Bat and the baby bird just one day started to feel a bond to somebody they never met but miss#(ghoost cores started to develope perhaps?)#JASON :0#GETS ADOPTED BY GHOST VIBES AND IS NOW A FULLY BRUCE'S CHILD#so#yeah#:D

Finally Getting Help (prt. 10)
Mastterpost
A/N: Thank you all for the well wishes about my dog. Unfortunately he didn't make it and pass away Tuesday morning in the vet's office. I was able to get some writing done but I don't have the energy to edit. Let me know if you find any mistakes.
-----
Jason: hey, thanks for the gun and the tech, it's really cool.
Danny: new phone who dis 😝
Jason: I hope you haven't given too many people guns in the last couple days.
Danny: no I haven't, thanks for texting me Jason. Have you got a chance to try the gun?
Jason: not on anything moving, I've been doing some target practice to get a feel for it though. Looking forward to when I can test it on Vlad.
Danny: aww are you going to avenge my honor 🥺
Jason: if you want me too. I'll bring you his head if you want me too.
Danny: 🥰 you're so sweet. I wouldn't say no to seeing him suffer for what he's done but don't get yourself in any trouble okay? And if you do call me right away. I'll come rescue you 😘
Jason: hey I'm the one offering to protect you!
Danny: we can protect each other. And fight each other, can you come spar again soon?
Jason: I wouldn't call that sparring, more like brawling.
Danny: eh potato potato, do you want to come fight me again?
Jason: if demon brat won't kill me for it, sure. Can I take you out for dinner afterwards? I have some questions
Danny: It's a date! Just tell me when
Jason: Day after tomorrow? I have some work to take care of first.
Danny: Sounds great! And it is a date right? You don't mind that I'm going to have kids?
Jason: the kids aren't a deal breaker I promise but let's not jump the gun okay? We're going to be family through B so we don't want this to blow up in our faces. Let's hang out, take it slow, see how it goes. You need to be careful about who you let into your life now anyway, you can't just let anyone around you and the babies.
Danny: don't tell me what to do 😠 but you're right. I'm bad about rushing into things. I'm still looking forward to it.
Danny: By the way Jazz uploaded the power point she made about Liminals and Ghosts to the bat’s server thing. You have access to that right? You should read that before we meet and I can fill in the gaps.
Jason: Sounds good, I’ll have a look at it and I’m looking forward to it too. I'll be there at 5 so we can spar before dinner. Don't forget to warn B and your guard dog.
Danny: Damian is a good kid. I'll let them know.
Danny stared at his new phone Tim had given him with apprehension. The chat with Jason had gone very well, and Danny was glad he reached out but there were other people he really needed to reach out to and he was… frankly scared. Sam and Tucker were his best friends and had always been there for him but they both had tempers. Would they be mad that he hadn’t told them he was pregnant? Would they be upset he had left Amity and wasn’t planning on coming back?
He needed to reach out though, the longer he waited the harder it would be to talk to them, and things wouldn’t stay calm as they were now. Vlad would be back to cause trouble again and even though the JLD had control of the portal but he was sure his rogues would find their way through eventually. Vlad had his own portal anyway, and Danny wouldn’t put it past him to open it just to annoy Danny. Maybe try and weaken him a little so Vlad could swoop in and pick him off.
Today was quiet, he needed to take this chance. He sighed and got up off the edge of his bed where he was sitting and ducked out of his room. He didn’t want to do this alone, so he wasn’t surprised when he found himself in the library where Jazz was studying.
He sat down across from her and reached across, laying his hand, palm up on the table. Without looking up from her book she reached over and placed her hand in his, giving it a gentle squeeze. He smiled at her and took a deep breath before putting on his earbuds and sending a message in the group chat.
Danny: When you guys are ready can we call?
Jazz phone went off too and she checked it, smiled at Danny, and then silenced the chat and went back to her book. She didn’t need to be part of this call but at least she knew what he was doing.
Sam: Yes, let me just grab Tuck. He’s playing Doomed.
Danny took a deep breath and put down his phone while he waited for them to call and tried not to panic.
When the phone buzzed he jumped and reached for it, joining the call quickly.
“Hey guys,” He said, awkwardly, waving with the hand that wasn’t holding the phone.
“Hey yourself! What the heck happened Danny?! Basically the whole town joined in in chasing Vlad when we found out what he did but why did we have to find out on tv?! Why didn’t you tell us?!” Sam said, but at least she just seemed stressed, not actually angry.
“I’m sorry guys,” Danny said, wincing a little when he heard Tucker sniffling a little. “I hadn’t told anyone yet. I hadn’t even fully accepted it yet honestly.
“I still wasn’t ready to talk about it, bur Cass is really good at reading people's body language and I guess she clocked that I was carrying them by how I kept unconsciously touching my stomach. When she asked me about it it sorta broke through my denial and I broke down which started the ball rolling on… all this,” He said with a vague gesture.”
“All this is right! The justice league really brought the hammer down on Amity. They’re dismantling the GIW and really pissed at the government and basically all the adults in the town for letting this happen. And they arrested your parents!” Sam said sounding almost excited.
“Sam! That was really insensitive! They’re still his parents, what if he didn’t know!?” Tucker broke in furiously.
“No it’s alright I knew, Jazz told me. She’s here with me,” He said squeezing her hand though she wasn’t paying attention to the call.
“Okaaay so where is Here?” Tucker asked warily.
“Ya are you safe? We haven’t seen you since all this went down! Are you really with Bruce Wayne?” Sam asked sounding wary.
“Yes I am. He’s got a foster license and since his kids were the one that found out what was going on it just made sense that I’d stay here.”
“And he’s Not another Fruitloop?” Sam asked warily. “You need to be careful with these rich people you know? They’re basically all crazy!”
“Sam you’re rich,” Danny pointed out, amused.
“Ya, and? My point stands!”
“Fair enough,” Danny laughed. “But no, I did some snooping the first night I was here and it seems okay. And since he’s got close ties to the Justice League he was able to get the help we really needed, and he says he might be able to help me meet Martian Manhunter!”
“Don’t fanboy out too bad,” Tucker teased him.
“Oh ya? And what if I helped you meet Tim Drake? Would you not be just as bad,” Danny accused Tucker.
“Touche,” Tucker said. “Could you though?”
“I mean maybe? He’s my foster brother now and he seems cool. You two are my best friends, if I’m going to stay I’m sure you could come visit me and meet all of them.”
“Are you really going to stay there though? I mean once the GIW and everything is cleared out you could stay with either of us. I know my parents aren’t your biggest fans but I know they’d let you stay,” Sam said sounding worried.
“And I know my family doesn't have a ton of money but they adore you, we’d make it work,” Tucker added looking worried.
“No, guys I really appreciate the offer but… I don’t want to come back to Amity. The Justice League said they shut down the portal and I really need a fresh start I think. I think I’d rather stay here. Jazz too, she’s gonna study at Gotham U and intern at Arkham,” He said. She looked up at the mention of her name and gave him a small smile.
“I’m sorry, you guys are my best friends and I’ll miss you, but there are too many… memories in Amity you know?”
“Ya I get that,” Sam said, looking sad and distant.
“We can still call, and play Doomed together, and visit on breaks!” Tucker said, his chipper tone sounding a little forced. “We’re going to say friends!” He insisted and Danny smiled.
“Of course we will Tuck,” He promised. They might grow apart with the distance between them, but he hoped not, they really were his best friends.
“Ya, my parents will probably be thrilled about this development and want me to come over all the time. They love the Waynes,” Sam chuckled though her optimism also seemed a bit forced. Of course she was more of a pessimist, she probably thought they would drift apart, but knew Danny needed them right now.
“Soo what’s been going on in Amity since I left?” Danny asked, letting them ramble about the drama, the rumours, and the bullshit that was the bullies and everyone in the school sudden;y pretending they cared about Danny soooo much.
After they finished telling him about it there were a few beats of silence and Danny was just about to suggest they hang up when Sam spoke up again.
“So, what actually happened with Vlad? If you don’t want to talk about it that’s okay but…”
“No, it’s okay. It’s not what- what you’d think. It’s superhero bullshit really. When I wouldn’t be his son he decided to try and clone me, you met Dani with an I right? She was one of the clones. But he didn’t know I was trans, and my DNA got all fucked up in the portal so none of the clones were stable. I have no idea how many he tried to make that died. But when I found out it was because he had lied to Dani and told her he needed me to stabilize her clone brothers. It was a batch of ten.
“But he lied, he didn’t actually care about stabilizing them, he was going to let them all die. I was only able to save the two that were most stable and only by taking their cores into myself. So I’m not normal pregnant, I’m ghost pregnant.
What is my life huh?” He finished, chuckling awkwardly.
“Oh fuck,” Sam said her shoulders slumping a little even as her expression went through a range of emotions. “That’s better in a way but still a whole different type of fucked up! I hope they catch him soon.”
“I hope so too but I don’t think they will,” Danny said with a shrug. “Not before he tries something else. I’m not lucky enough to be able to just move past this,” He said with a bitter little laugh.
“Well, we can still hope. And even if he does cause trouble you have more allies now! You’ve been able to handle everything else he’s thrown at you basically on your own, with the Justice League behind you I know there’s nothing you can’t handle. I mean, Vlad is kind of pathetic anyway,” Tucker encouraged making Danny smile.
“Ya, you’re right, I’m sure it’ll be fine. Thanks guys,” he said fondly.
“Of course dude! We’re here for you!” Tucker said.
“It’s really good to hear from you too. Don’t be a stranger okay?” Sam said, a bit worried.
“Of course not, I’ll keep you posted I promise.” Danny assured before they said their goodbyes and he hung up.
He put down his phone and leaned back with a sigh, closing his eyes for a moment. Next to him Jazz chuckled and there was a soft snap as she closed her book.
“You did well little brother,” She told him, getting up from her seat she moved behind him and rested her hands on his shoulders.
“How do you know? You weren’t listening.”
“No, but you reached out to your friends and had an honest conversation which isn’t easy. You did well,” She reiterated, squeezing his shoulders.
“Well thanks Jazz. I hope that they’re right that we won’t lose touch, and I’ll be able to handle whatever Vlad does,” He grumbled.
“I’m sure we will,” Jazz promised. “And either way there’s no point in worrying about it now. Has Jason texted you yet?” She asked, giving Danny the excuse he needed to change the subject and launch into his more petty worries about the upcoming date as she sat back down to listen.

I took a prompt from @ghostreblogging and ran away with it. I have other parts in progress that I'd be willing to post if you guys are into it. I'm not saying it's good, but I definitely had fun with this and got wild with the next part.
Danny Fenton-Wayne: Big Brother
To say Danny was excited to be a big brother was an understatement. He was so ready to finally be the older one, in a position where he was allowed to be protective but not overbearing. Jazz had trained him well for this. And Damian was just the perfect little brother to him, though he was sure that was weird to everyone else. It was so refreshing to have a sibling that didn't treat him like glass. He reminded him a lot of a smaller, angrier, less tech oriented Skulker. And it was great seeing the others' confused but entertained expressions.
"I will slit your throat while you sleep," Damian had glared at his new big brother. "You are not my big brother!" He insisted. Danny thought it was so cute! Skulker would love him. The other Wayne's had looked mortified as though the comment would scare Danny away. Really, the threat was weak. Slitting Danny's thought wouldn't be nearly as effective as Damian was hoping, and it wasn't even that creative. But Danny was a good big brother, and rough housing was a great way to let off steam and get in exercise, so Danny just laughed and responded,
"You could sure try!"
Damian lunged at him in rage. The kid was fast and efficient; he'd give him that. But Danny had faced things much worse than a 10 year old with a penchant for violence. He dodged and snagged the back of his shirt, scruffing him like an angry kitten.
"Damian! No! Bad!" Tim scolded. "Danny, I would tell you not to take it to heart, but he really will stab you, so please be careful?"
"Stab me? That's adorable!" Damian squirmed in his hold while Danny manhandled him into a hug. This didn't really count as being overbearing if it didn't last too long, right? Besides, with Damian fussing so loudly about it, he was sure this was exactly how Jazz felt when she smothered him. It was amazing. Being a big brother was the best.
He eventually let Damian go and he sped away like Pariah Dark was personally nipping at his heels. No doubt to go plan Danny's demise. He was kind of looking forward to it actually.
~~•○•~~
Dinner that night was eventful. He'd learned that Duke was a meta with an ability that affected his sight. Not that he'd outright said so, but Danny could tell. He also gathered a few inklings about his family being the freakin Bat Brigade? They were all vigilantes, and they thought he was some normal civilian! So was Damian being protective of his family in the face of some stranger? That was understandable. Respectable even. Jazz would have said that he was a newcomer in their space and that he needed to respect that. He wouldn't pry if they didn't want him to. Across the table, his baby brother waved a fork at him menacingly. Danny snickered.
"Damian…" Bruce warned. Dick tutted at him from his seat.
"Sorry about him, Danny. You can just ignore him," Dick assured. Danny found he really liked Dick too, what with his similar penchant for puns.
"Thanks, but I think I can handle him. He's what, 10 years old?"
"I'm clearly 12, you imbecile!" In the next moment, Damian was scrambling across the table embedding his fork into the back of Danny's chair, but Danny was no longer in it. Damian hadn't even seen him move if his stunned blinking was anything to go by.
"Trust me, I would not be good for your diet," Danny joked.
~~•○•~~
Danny had gotten a great idea when several days later Damian rushed him with a whole sword. Even as Phantom, Danny was never familiar with traditional weapons. He'd always wanted to learn, but knew that with Fentons it just wasn't a safe idea. So when Duke came running to reprimand Damian and the child saw an opening, Danny redirected the blade down and out of his hand, offering it back with a question about lessons. Perhaps he could bond with Damian by letting him teach him about his favorite weapon.
Their "training," as Damian put it, was going well. Danny genuinely felt like he was learning a lot from him as well as about him. And even with his ghostly enhanced speed the brat was keeping him on his toes. When Damian nicked him with his blade for the time Danny had been so proud. He knew he wasn't easy to hit.
"Say cheese!" Danny exclaimed, shoving his uninjured cheek up against Damian's for a photo. It had turned out amazing, with Danny pointing to the oozing scratch on his face while Damian scowled at him for enjoying himself.
"Please desist. You're taking all the fun out of trying to kill you." Danny just laughed
~~•○•~~
Damian's new brother was just weird. And apparently Damian was the only one who really knew it. At first he'd thought the fool was underestimating him, but boy was he mistaken. He was a civilian, right? Then why could he not land a hit on Fenton even without the interference of his inferior siblings? The wretched thing was able to snatch him mid air and wrestle him into a hug like it was nothing. He was a professionally trained assassin! This was embarrassing! The others thought Fenton just had decent reflexes and a lack of self preservation instincts, but Damian knew better.
The day Fenton disarmed him quickly went from infuriating to intriguing. His brothers had admonished him for attempting murder again, but Daniel had stood up for him and handed his precious blade back to him, going as far as asking if he was willing to give him lessons. Tt, at least one of his brothers could tell he was a superior warrior. He obliged, eager to show off his skills with a sword. And Daniel wasn't actually bad at it per se, but it was clear he wasn't versed in swordplay. After a few sessions with Daniel, he noticed something odd. Not bad, but odd. The room was always cooler when they sparred, and he found that he didn't often overheat. Daniel was a quick learner and very light on his feet. So light, in fact, that he sometimes seemed to float. And Damien would swear on his grandfather's blade that when Daniel got serious, his eyes would flash a bright, toxic green. Damian was determined to get to the bottom of this, and because he was, in fact, the smartest of the Wayne's, he would do it on his own!
Turns out, he didn't have to try that hard.
Damian woke with a start at the knock on his door. He didn't have patrol so he'd tried to turn in early for the night. Grumbling, he went to see who it was. He swore, if it was Drake and he wasn't sleeping even though he'd been kicked off the schedule for sleep deprivation, he would strangle him. He cracked the door to see glowing green eyes. But Danny didn't seem irrationally angry like Todd did when the Pit Rage consumed him.
"Can I come in please?" Danny pleaded. "I had a nightmare and don't wanna be alone, but the others are out and Tim needs his sleep…"
Damian sighed and opened the door for Danny to come in. He sat at the foot of the bed and curled his knees to his chest.
"I don't know what you expect me to do for you. I'm not some counselor." He closed the door and crossed his arms with an annoyed huff.
"I don't need a counselor, I just need my brother." Danny's tired smile was soft.
"Why? I've been told I don't have a comforting personality." Damain took a seat next to him.
"I don't need to be coddled, I'm not a baby. I really appreciate that you're straightforward and rough toward me. I'm traumatized, but like, I'm not gonna break, ya know?"
"You… like that I'm rude to you?" This had to be the first time anyone had ever said that to him.
"Do you know why I'm here? Why I was taken in?" When Damian shook his head Danny continued. "My parents were always pretty careless when it came to raising my sister and I. Their science always came first. We had to grow up pretty fast. And once you grow up, it sucks to be treated like a kid again. It's what got my sister into psychology, and she was constantly trying to psychoanalyze me. Well, I'd had a lab accident that… changed me. When my parents found out, they vivisected me. Bruce found out and got me out of there, but Jazz was already 18 and in college so she couldn't come with me."
Damian was horrified. Even the League with their harsh rules and cruel nature would never do something like that. Even so, it did explain a lot, and Daniel seemed to know how to handle his trauma. An accident in a lab would definitely explain Daniel's more meta-like features as well. He wondered if his father knew, but figured he didn't because the boy had been very secretive about any abilities he might have gained.
"So to summarize, your parents were atrocious to you and now instead of being coddled or analyzed, you prefer to spend your time with people trying to stab you? I tried to kill you." He pointed out.
"Yea, well so has everyone else in my family at one point or another. It's sort of like a rite of passage and you're the only one that's done it," Danny smirked and nudged Damian. The younger boy could admit he found the humor in that, dark as it may be. "Besides, you get it: not wanting to be underestimated or looked down on just because you're young even though you've been through hell." Damian couldn't deny that. Maybe they were more alike than he had anticipated. Interacting with him didn't grate on his nerves like the others did at least. He sighed.
"So, what now Daniel? We sit in silence until you feel safe enough to go back to your own room?"
"I strongly prefer Danny for reasons I'm not willing to talk about yet, but I get the feeling this is as good as I'm gonna get, huh?"
"Correct."
"Well then, do you mind if I call my dog? He's a good boy, I promise," Danny pleaded.
"I do like the company of animals. I didn't know you had a dog, I haven't seen a new one on the grounds." Danny took this as a go-ahead to summon Cujo.
"I don't take him many places, he can get rowdy and protective sometimes. But I'm positive he'll love you." He let out a sharp whistle and the green ghost puppy phased into the room from under the door. He trotted over to the boys, tongue flopping as he did. He pounced excitedly on Danny before giving Damian a thorough sniff and deeming his presence safe and acceptable. He happily let the boy scratch his belly.
"He's… uh, green. What breed is he?"
"The ghost kind," Danny replied sadly. The implications were heartbreaking. "My accident turned me half-ghost so now I have a ghost puppy," he said as if that explained everything. "You uh, won't tell the others about this, right?"
Damian tilted his head in thought while he scratched Cujo behind the ears. He'd definitely want more details on what exactly Daniel meant by "ghost," but for now, he felt pride at being the one family member Daniel actually felt comfortable talking to. He could lord that over his siblings later.
"We'll, you're no longer in any danger, and your past is none of their business unless you want it to be, so I don't don't see a reason to tell them."
Danny grinned at his little brother. He knew Damian would be his favorite! He already knew he would do anything for him.

Tim and Dannys DNA gets mixed to make a clone and Danny basically goes oh? A child? I raise this.
And tims like hold up, my DNA is in there to
So of course the logical conclusion is for Danny to take BOTH of them with him. Tim was against it at the start, but living in a castle made out of so much stuff he can explore? He's allowed to invite friends as long as they don't cause too much chaos? The protection? And Danny is doing his best at being a good co-parent and Tim is wooed sue him.
Yeah, he's not leaving
The bats are trying to "save" him. But in reality they are just offended (and slightly hurt) that Tim doesn't invite them to meet the baby.
Bruce is dealing with being a grandfather terribly. He held the child ONCE and cried. Dick is trying his darnest to be a godfather citing his experience as reasons.
Jason gets to be the godfather, cause cass declined the position.

The Devil Knows My Name
A Daniel Wagner / Samuel Kiszka fic
Summary: Sam and Danny travel the world together hunting ghosts. And Danny has a secret.
Tags: ghost hunting au, humor, horror elements, demonic elements, getting together, this is low key a buzzfeed unsolved au
Trigger Warnings: mentioned child abuse (explained in A/N)
Words: 8.8 k
A/N: Right off that bat: one of the locations Sam and Danny investigate is a real abandoned orphanage that had rumors of child abuse tied to it. Unfortunately, all of the claims mentioned about the place in the fic are real allegations. If that makes you uncomfortable, do not feel like you have to read that section as you won't miss any plot points. Outside of that, this fic is very lighthearted. I wrote it as a part of @hearts-hunger GVF Halloween Event, which I was not expecting to finish this soon (I picked prompt 15!). It was super fun to write and I hope you all enjoy! As usual, this fic is dedicated to @ofthecaravel. Title taken from The Garden by the Crane Wives.

“I was reading the comments on our last video-”
“A wonderful thing for your mental health, I’m sure.”
“-and I couldn’t help but laugh.”
“Oh? Why is that?”
“Everyone seems to agree. They think you’re a demon.”
+++
Daniel had known Sam for, like, ever. They went through grade school together, graduated together, even went through a failed band together, too. In fact, it seemed they did everything together. Mostly, it was on purpose; truly at this point it felt wrong to be somewhere without Sam at his side. But, becoming famous ghost hunters? That was an accident. Really, if Danny had known that ghost hunting would be their future careers, he never would have accepted that dare.
“Come onnnnn! Ghosts aren’t real, anyway!” Josh lamented, attempting to shove his baby brother out the door of their house.
“Yeah, you chicken,” Jake tacked on at the end, a knowing smile barely contained on his lips.
“I am not a chicken!!” Sam roared, slapping Josh’s hands away from his back. There was a deep frown on his face that was somehow halfway to a pout.
“We’re even letting you take Danny! Honestly, we’re being very generous about this whole ordeal,” the oldest brother continued, fighting off a laugh of his own at seeing Sam acting tough. Acting, being the key word.
“Sure. And what are you gonna tell mom and dad when we end up shanked by some drifters protecting their territory??” Sam squawked, trying to get back into the house. But Jake and Josh had blocked the entrance, standing shoulder to shoulder in the doorframe. Sammy might have towered over the twins, but it was clear who was stronger out of the three of them.
“Oh, please. There’s no vagrants at the Garnet house, just a bunch of teenagers doing drugs and shit there.”
“And, I mean, you don’t have to take the dare…” Jake offered. A fake olive branch if there ever was one. The devious smile on his face betrayed his caring tone.
“Yeah, and do your guys’ chores for a month?? I don’t think so,” Sam snipped, ripping the family movie camera out of Jake’s extended palm.
“Uh, don’t I get a say in this?” Danny finally pipped up, watching in silence while the three Kiszkas bickered.
“NO,” all three barked in unison. Danny shut his mouth so fast, his teeth clicked.
“Like Sam would go anywhere without you,” Jake muttered under his breath. Sam shot him a fierce glare that only succeeded in causing the twins to implode into laughter.
“You guys are the WORST!” Sam exclaimed before turning on his heel and stomping down the porch into the backyard. Danny was quick to follow, scrambling after his best friend and clicking on the flashlight he was given.
Sam didn’t talk to Danny for a solid minute after his altercation with his older brothers. He was too busy cursing them under his breath and indulging in his temper tantrum.
“This is the worst sleepover ever. Why did we even let them join in the first place??” Sam whined, the first words he spoke that weren’t muttered. That was how Danny knew he was talking to him.
“Oh, c’mon. We were having fun with them before this dare,” Danny offered, his eyes watching the leaf-covered terrain for any rogue branches he could trip over. They were not exactly quiet as they trudged through the dried autumn leaves, each step sounding like static.
Sam shot him a look that was halfway annoyed and halfway resigned. “Yeah, whatever. But they took it too far like they always do.”
“Gee, I don’t know, Sam. Maybe if you hadn’t boasted very loudly about how ‘ghost hunters aren’t shit’, ‘they’re a bunch of pussies’, and ‘I could do that’, maybe we wouldn’t be in this situation,” Danny countered. It was all lighthearted, of course. Danny could never truly be annoyed at Sam. He did choose Sam, after all.
“That’s because they are! They’re all acting for the camera and it just makes them look like a bunch of wimps!!” Sam had finally turned to face Danny, his pale face illuminated by the flashlight as he turned his expression to a caricature of the host of the ghost hunting show they just watched. “Huh! A creak in an old house that hasn’t seen maintenance since ‘Nam! Must be a g-g-g-ghost!!!”
Danny couldn’t help his snort of laughter as Sam mocked the ghost hunters. He himself didn’t believe in ghosts, either. Especially the tv shows that claimed to always find ground-breaking “real” evidence every episode. If they had something to gain monetarily, Danny didn’t trust them.
“Then why are you so scared to do this dare?” Danny baited, knowing it would get a reaction out of Sam. Sometimes he just couldn’t help but rile him up; it was easy and fun.
“Ok, first, I’m not scared. I am rightfully cautious. Not only will we be trespassing, but we will be filming our crime,” Sam held up the camcorder in his hand and waved it a little, “and we don’t know if it will be empty. For all we know, there could be squatters in there who are a little too stab-happy!”
“Says the one with the arrest record,” Daniel muttered under his breath, loud enough that Sam could hear.
“Hey!”
+++
“Are you rolling?”
“For the hundredth time: yes, Sam,” Danny exasperatedly replied, adjusting his hand holding the camera. The hand strap was digging into his skin and he really just wanted to get this over with. He hadn’t felt good since they came upon the house when the woods cleared.
“Alright, snippy, no need for the attitude,” Sam shot back, giving Danny a look as he adjusted his long hair.
Danny just rolled his eyes, signaling with a wave of his hand for Sam to hurry it up. They both had a few drinks before walking out there and Danny was starting to feel them. The last dare he got was to shotgun a beer and he wished he had chosen truth instead.
“We’re standing in front of the Garnet house where it is said that William Garnet murdered his wife, Sylvia, back in 1956-”
“God, everyone knows that’s just some stupid urban legend. There’s literally no proof anyone was killed here,” Danny lamented, tired of hearing about William and Sylvia Garnet. He’d looked into the real story himself.
“Are you the host, or am I?” Sam snapped, an annoyed pinch in his face. “Start over.”
“Nope. Keep going.”
With a pointed, heavy sigh, Danny could see in the small LCD screen as Sam rolled his eyes. But, he continued anyway. “Because of that, the house has been abandoned since that bloody day.”
“Because they moved out and couldn’t sell the house because of the location. Do you see how far away from a road we are?” Daniel had panned away from Sam to show the lengths of woods surrounding them.
“You’re no fun, Daniel,” Sam whined, sounding like a child. Danny even heard his foot stomp into the cold dirt with his boot. “Let’s just… go inside.”
Danny didn’t stop recording as they trudged around the house, looking for an opening they could slither through. He probably should’ve been less focused on filming Sam looking for an entrance and more so on helping him, but oh well. Someone had to hold the flashlight and also, it was a cool shot getting Sam tracing his fingers along the crumbling brick of the old house, looking up at the windows. His profile was perfectly illuminated by the light, making his jawline look sharper than usual. His misting breath was also being caught in the flashlight beam, looking like an apparition in its own right.
They ended up having to climb into a window, Danny boosting Sam in. With a grunt of exertion, Sam was able to hoist Danny in. However, his foot slipped out from underneath him just as Danny’s torso passed the windowsill. So, instead of the graceful landing Daniel was hoping to pull off, he instead found himself on all fours in the dust of the dilapidated flooring. The abrupt change in position as well as the scraping of his stomach against the windowsill did nothing to help his alcohol-induced nausea.
“Are you alright?” Danny asked, having to swallow thickly to keep his bile down.
Sam groaned from underneath him, something that Danny hadn’t even realized until that moment. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
Danny got up as quickly as his spinning head would allow him, offering a hand out to Sam as soon as he was stable on two legs. They both tried to brush the grime off of them, knowing that they would need to wash their clothes to truly be rid of all of it.
“Alright, let’s be quick. If there’s anyone here, they would have heard that.” For the first time that night, there was a slight tremor to Sam’s voice. That was all the indicator Danny needed to know that Sam was more scared than he was letting on. That, and the way Sam’s hand had trembled in his own as he helped him up.
“No arguments here,” Danny commented, scanning the floor with his flashlight to find his dropped video camera. Luckily, it was unharmed and still rolling, capturing the embarrassing moment of them falling to the ground, despite being about ten years old. But that was good old early 2000s technology for you. Once he’d found the camera, Danny passed the flashlight to Sam. It made more sense for him to hold it as he led them through the house.
“Let’s just find the bedroom, ask a few questions, and leave. That should be enough to satisfy the twins’ stupid dare.” Sam seemed half distracted as he scanned the dark rooms around him. And, to be fair, the place was rather ghoulish and imposing. The walls showed exposed wooden slats behind the crumbling drywall, cracks formed all around the ceiling, graffiti stained the walls, and the odd trashed piece of furniture that you’re sure was a person in the corner of your eye decorated the space.
In order to lighten the mood, Daniel quickly thought of a way to make Sam laugh. Though, “quickly” was relative as his head was still spinning a little.
“The bedroom? Sam, you should at least take me out to dinner first.” The teasing tone Danny used just caused Sam to let out an abrupt bark of laughter and nudge his best friend with his elbow.
“We both know you wouldn’t even need dinner first,” Sam jested back, a sly smile pulling at the corner of his lips. This was far from the first time their teasing had toed a line. They both silently acknowledged that line existed, and also acknowledged that it wasn’t weird to cross it with one foot from time to time.
Danny had gotten the urge to shove Sam in the shoulder, but they were climbing the stairs. They were rickety and treacherous enough as it was; no need to add another risk.
“Who’s body count is higher?”
“Like it’s a bad thing-”
Knock!
Both boys froze in their tracks. They were about halfway up the staircase when it sounded like knuckles rapped against some wood.
“Did you hear that?” Sam’s eyes were huge as he turned to look down at Daniel who was one step below.
“Yeah. Sounded like it came from upstairs,” Danny truthfully answered.
Sam let out another groan, his bottom lip finding itself worried between his teeth. It was a bad habit Sam had when he got nervous. “I really hope that’s a ghost and not some addict.”
“You and me both.”
Taking a steadying breath, Sam worked up the courage to continue up the steps. He was climbing them slower than usual, but that was to be expected. But, that did not help the very loud squealing of said steps. It really only made the squeaking worse and drew out the sound.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, they reached the top floor and were greeted with a liminal hallway. A dusty chandelier cried broken crystals and cobwebs, more graffiti scored the walls, the floor was littered with joint cones and cigarette butts, and the doors along the walls were all closed, but not shut entirely. All of them stood ajar which, for some reason, was more unnerving than if they were completely shut or completely open.
“Let’s see what’s behind door number one, shall we?” Danny prompted, realizing Sam was frozen in fear next to him. Despite the flippant tone he was employing, Danny was feeling awful. His head hadn’t stopped spinning since he stepped onto the property and his stomach was still churning. He felt cold but couldn’t blame it on the late October weather.
With a shaky smile and a nod, Sam reached for the door handle on his right and gingerly pushed it open. It revealed a similar decrepit state as the rest of the house, the LED light from their flashlight casting it in an eerie glow. It seemed they had found the bedroom, a four poster bed frame pushed against the wall with the whole thing covered in carved initials and names. More graffiti coated the walls, but it all seemed to have a theme.
“Talk about sympathy for the devil,” Sam joked, tepidly entering the room and illuminating all the 666s and reversed crosses on the walls.
“Please allow me to introduce myself,” Danny quoted, attempting his best Mick Jagger impression. That got him a laugh from Sam, even if it was just from how shitty the impersonation was.
“Mick Jagger is rolling in his grave for that one.”
“Mick Jagger is dead? Has anyone checked the news??”
Once again, Sam elbowed Danny in the side. A huge grin was on his face as he did it, so Danny counted that as a win. However, it was a short-lived victory. Just as Danny had found himself in the center of the room, he doubled over in pain.
“Daniel? What’s wrong??” There was genuine concern in Sam’s words as he raced over to his best friend’s side.
“I… I don’t…” he dropped the camera to the ground as he clutched at his stomach. It was as if he had just been punched in the gut by Mike Tyson as his nausea came at him with full force.
Sam had grabbed the camera off the ground, a decision that would solidify their fates. Now armed with both the flashlight and the camera, Sam became the cameraman as he documented Danny’s sudden distress.
He didn’t even know what caused him to look up. But regardless, as he tilted his head backwards, Daniel noticed a pentagram on the ceiling in black spray paint.
“What’s going on?” Sam’s voice was shaky. And if Danny wasn’t trying his best to vomit all over the scuffed and dirty floor, he might’ve noticed the way the house seemed to shake around them.
The footage of this moment would be shaky and just slightly out of focus. It was something Danny, as well as the rest of their audience, would clown him for for years to come. However, that was about the only funny thing about it. At the time, as Sam filmed Danny being doubled over and the house rattling around them, it was no laughing matter. You see, as Sam illuminated Daniel so that he could be seen, a dark shadow was cast behind him. One that seemed to slowly seep out of the shadow that Danny cast against the wall. Sam was petrified for a moment as fear gripped his mind and forced his muscles to turn to stone. But, as the shadow grew what looked to be claws, that’s when his concern for Daniel leaped into overdrive.
His shriek of terror was the last thing the video they uploaded of that night would show. However, there was about ten more minutes of footage that only Jake, Josh, and Sam and Danny would see. It recorded the floor as Sam grabbed Danny’s wrist and bolted out of the house. It recorded the rustling leaves and their labored breath as they sprinted away from the house and back towards Sam’s. It also captured the sound of Danny’s misery as he threw up in the bushes, Sam frantically trying to soothe him but also get them to safety. But none of that made it into the video.
+++
Their success happened seemingly overnight. It was a few weeks before their video got views over the double digits. But then, a famous reaction channel had used their video and suddenly, people flocked to it. Most people just commented on whether or not they thought it was fake, others commented on how hot they thought Sam and Danny were. But a good chunk of them, including the youtuber, were clamoring for more from them. It seemed a lot of people found them highly entertaining and wanted to see more of them.
It was a complete accident that they became famous internet ghost hunters. That’s what made their job seem so surreal. Not only were they able to travel the country searching for ghosts and ghouls, but the world as well. They would get recognized on the street or in stores, being asked if they could take pictures with a wide variety of people. Suddenly, not just friends or family followed them, but complete strangers. Hundreds of thousands of people. Frankly, it was a little overwhelming. Daniel, and Sam, was just glad he had his best friend with him the whole time.
“When is this video going out?” Daniel asked Sam with a sniffle, the two of them getting ready in their shared hotel room.
“It should be posted in about a month,” Sam responded, staring into the mirror of the bathroom trying to get his hair to de-frizz. He had never really put that much effort into his appearance before, but they were now being scrutinized by hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people. So, Daniel stopped brushing out his curls and actually had a multi-step hair routine.
“I was reading the comments on our last video-”
“A wonderful thing for your mental health, I’m sure.” Danny interrupted, a crooked smile on his face before he blew his nose into a tissue.
“-and I couldn’t help but laugh.” Sam had finally emerged out of the bathroom and started to lace his boots. They were an old pair of Doc Martens that he’d owned forever and usually only wore for ghost hunting.
“Oh? Why is that?” Danny was pouring himself out a dose of DayQuil, throwing it back as if it were a shot. He would have plugged his nose if it weren’t already stuffed. He hated the taste of both DayQuil and NyQuil vehemently, always making him gag despite how effective they were.
“Everyone seems to agree. They think you’re a demon.”
Daniel had stopped himself short of pouring out another dose of DayQuil, the bottle still in his hand poised to pour. After realizing he was frozen, Danny forced himself to set the bottle down and face his best friend. He was sitting on the edge of Danny’s bed (it was closer to the door), struggling to pull his boot onto his foot. He really hadn’t seemed to notice Danny’s reaction to the accusation, too focused on cursing the tight boots that he stubbornly refused to loosen the laces on.
“Oh yeah? And why do they think that?” The amusement in Danny’s tone was not manufactured, nor was the smile pulling at one corner of his lips.
“Well,” Sam started with a grunt, letting out a satisfied sigh at finally getting his boots over his feet, “they seem to think that because you’re hardly scared in any of the places we go into that you must be a demon.”
“Oh, so, because I’m not afraid of non-existent ghosts, I myself am a supernatural entity?” Daniel dryly questioned, shaking his head and returning to his previous task.
“I mean, there is also that shadow creature that emerged out of you our first investigation. Should you be taking that much?”
“I need a higher dose or else it won’t work,” Daniel flippantly answered, waving his hand in a dismissive manner before throwing back his second full dosage of the medicine. That one he could taste in full, the bitterness making him hiss in disgust. “That ‘shadow creature’ was just my shadow.”
Sam handed Danny a bottle of water, watching the man down it before going to brush his teeth in the bathroom. “There was also that time you got a nosebleed the second you walked into a church. And we got it on camera,” Sam persisted, not one to lose an argument so easily. He had followed Danny to the entrance of the bathroom, leaning against the door jamb with his arms crossed.
“Eh wa thuh ead uh winer, am,” Danny rebutted, toothpaste foaming in his mouth and hindering his speech. Sam managed to understand him: It was the dead of winter, Sam. Danny spit out his toothpaste, brushing his tongue a little before going back to continue his argument. “It was drier than the Sahara in that old building.”
“Ok, then how do you explain the fact that you were the only one who had their eyes roll into the back of their head when they were touched by that exorcist?” Sam shot back, kind of impressed at himself for remembering all of these instances off the top of his head.
Danny rolled his eyes at that, a smile pulling at his lips as he shooed Sam out of the way so he could put his shoes on. “I thought it would be funny! What’s with the third degree, anyway? You’re picking on a sick and weak man.”
“Yeah, those arms are just for show,” Sam countered, flicking him in the bicep. As a reaction to that comment, Daniel, on a whim, ducked down, grabbed Sam by the waist, and hauled the man over his shoulder. Sam started giggling and squealing at the act.
“Still think they’re just for show?” Danny casually asked, pacing around while holding Sam as if he weighed nothing. He could not keep the smile off his face as he did so, enjoying Sam’s own laughter.
“No! Now, put me down, you menace!!” Sam had managed between giggles, his hands lightly beating into Danny’s back. Truthfully, Danny hadn’t known why he thought to pick Sam up. It just crossed his mind and Danny decided to go for it. That usually seemed to happen when he took cold medicine and he hoped it wouldn’t bite him in the ass later.
Instead of placing him back down on the ground, Danny threw him gently onto the mattress. Sam bounced as the springs took on his weight, and then Danny’s as he climbed onto Sam. They both continued to giggle, Sammy throwing his arms around Daniel’s neck as they came face to face with one another.
“Hi,” Daniel breathed with a honeyed tone.
“Hi there,” Sam responded, his tone equally as candied. They both wore matching grins as they searched one another’s eyes. But that was where they stayed. This was a fairly recent development in their dynamic, starting back about two or three months ago. They already spent a lot of time together back when they still lived in Frankenmuth, but doing this job was drastically different. Instead of hanging out for 12 hours out of the day, now they saw each other 24 hours out of the day. It was not hyperbole in the slightest to say that they saw each other the most out of any other human on earth. And that kind of time spent together, well it draws people closer. So, this development seemed… natural. But, neither of them wanted to make the first move for equally valid reasons. So, this purgatory-state they were in (comfortable enough to hold one another as they slept but scared to even think about kissing the other) was where they stood now.
And people noticed.
Sam let out a short, nervous laugh. “We oughtta get down there. The rest of the crew is waiting.” He relinquished his grip around Danny’s neck, patted him twice on the shoulder, and then slipped out from under him to go stand by the door.
Danny sighed, disappointed in himself as he watched Sam fidget with his hands out of the corner of his eye as he put on his own boots. He wanted to take that plunge with Sam so badly, but he also knew that there were too many risks involved. For one, their job depended on their dynamic. Part of their appeal was the way they so effortlessly bounced off one another comedically. And the other: if they went south - which Danny had a feeling they would because of him - not only would their jobs suffer, but they would too. They had been best friends for life and Daniel did not want to risk losing Sam because he couldn’t keep it in his pants.
Danny knew he had to do something. They couldn’t go into the shoot this way. So, as they walked out of their hotel room, Danny tapped Sam on the arm with the back of his hand and chirped “you’re it” before bolting towards the stairwell. Danny didn’t have to turn around to know Sam was racing after him, he could hear Sam’s laugh following him.
+++
“Greetings Travelers!” Danny started their intro with a wave of his hand. Ever since they had started taking this job seriously, Danny no longer had to be behind the camera. Instead, it seemed his presence was demanded in front of the lens alongside Sammy.
“And welcome to the Old Holy Family Orphanage in Marquette, Michigan,” Sam finished for Danny. They were standing shoulder to shoulder with the building to their backs, the structure illuminated behind them and looking just as imposing as it felt.
“This one is right in our backyard!” Danny smiled over at Sam, never having to fake a single one for the camera if Sam was there with him.
“Give or take a few miles.”
“Like… 400.”
“That’s a pretty big backyard!”
The two of them broke out into laughter, despite the joke not really being that funny. But, that was their dynamic. No matter what, they would always laugh.
“Alright, Dan the Man. Shall we get into the depressing history?” Sam had slung an arm around Danny’s shoulders, the touch making Danny feel all warm and fuzzy. It was a welcome feeling considering the cold darkness that seemed to seep out of the building behind them.
With a smile that bordered on sad, Danny poised his pointer finger in the air and swirled it around, just as he did every episode. “Roll the tape.” In the final cut, this is the part where they would cut away to a voiceover of Danny with b-roll of the place they were investigating behind it.
Danny slid his phone out of his pocket, the script he wrote containing his research saved there. No matter how large their audience would grow, Danny refused to let anyone else research the history of their locations. Not only did he want to make sure that he was respecting the lives of those who perished at these locations, but he also did not want anyone to weaponize and abuse the history just to make it seem like ghosts existed for their gain. Sam was the only one who didn’t seem to think he acted prissy over the whole thing.
“So, the place was built in 1915 and funded by the Catholic church. Their idea was to take in only white kids and give them to white families-”
“Racist bastards,” Sam cut in, his breath tickling Danny’s cheek as the man leaned in to see Danny’s phone. Daniel tried extremely hard not to think about how close Sam’s lips were to his skin. (He failed miserably, his blunder displayed in the form of a pink blush dusting his cheeks for all to see)
“Oh, it gets worse. Now, that’s where all the documented information ends on this place. So, we’re slapping a very general ‘allegedly’ on everything from here on out.” Danny made the mistake of looking up from his phone and into Sam’s eyes, their faces barely inches apart, his breath catching in his throat.
“They don’t even have proper sources,” Sam commented in a theatrical disapproving tone, his eyes never leaving Danny’s. Danny could feel rather than see the easy smile on Sam’s lips.
“Th-They - uh,” Danny cleared his throat before tearing his eyes away and back to his phone. “There are claims that Native children from the surrounding areas were ripped away from their families as babies and then ‘Americanized’ before being adopted to white families. They wouldn’t find out the truth of their heritage until well into adulthood.” God I hope they don’t include me being so flustered in the final cut
“You mean this was a residential school??” Sam seemed genuinely outraged at the news, his outburst causing Danny’s ear to ring.
“Allegedly,” Danny responded, using his free hand to rub at the affected ear.
“I say again: ‘Racist bastards!’”
“I’m pretty sure calling nuns ‘bastards’ gets you sent to hell.”
“Fine! That means I’ll get to fist fight ‘em while I’m down there!”
Danny shook his head, laughing at his co-host and best friend’s theatrics. “You’re something else, Sam.”
“And by ‘something’ do you mean charming, handsome, and funny?” Sam batted his lashes while preening, tossing his long hair over his shoulder.
“Sure… we’ll go with that.”
Sam let out an offended squawk, causing Danny to giggle. He shot Sam a wink before continuing on with his script.
“Once again, there’s not a whole lot more on this place besides a lot of stories with no real sources. However, a lot of adults who lived in the orphanage as children would report terrible living conditions and mistreatment by the nuns. One report claimed that a little girl who was staying in the orphanage got caught in a huge blizzard, then died of pneumonia after she returned to the nuns. And instead of burying her right away, they put her body on display in the lobby as an example for the other kids.”
“Jesus Christ almighty. Like, dude, I’m genuinely so fucking mad that I can’t even think of a joke,” Sam fumed, his grip on Danny’s shoulder tightening.
“Well, these are all alleged-”
“I don’t care. Usually I feel bad annoying the ghosts we visit. But tonight? I fucking hope I piss these bitches off!”
“If ghost nuns even exist,” Danny countered.
Sam didn’t respond verbally. Rather, he shot Danny a long-suffering look that really told Daniel how thrilled he was over that particular bit of input from the man. Danny just laughed, tilting his head a little so that it was resting against Sam’s. Sammy still had yet to let his arm drop from around Danny’s shoulders.
“Is that everything?”
“One last little thing, and then we’re all clear to go in. We’re actually pretty lucky to get in here when we did. We’re the last group of ghost hunters allowed to investigate this place before they start renovations.”
“Pfffff, why? From the pictures I saw online, it’s beyond saving,” Sam looked over his shoulder at the aforementioned building. Just the exterior of the place was in bad shape: the brick was covered in crawling ivy, spray painted tags providing the only color to the faded orange brick, and practically every window was shattered or boarded up with plywood.
“The previous owner was bought out. Another company, who graciously agreed to let us go through with this investigation before they started construction, is gonna turn this place into an apartment complex,” Danny explained, slipping his phone into his pocket once more.
Sammy’s mouth fell open, a knit in his brow that showed just how much he was in disbelief from that claim. And that was when he slid his arm off of Danny. Quick to follow the void of the affectionate warmth of Sam’s touch was the frigid and sinister grope of the orphanage. Daniel never before put stock into Sam’s bullshit “energy” of the locations they visited, but this one felt different.
“Hope those renters don’t mind having demonic nuns as their roommates,” Sam jested, his light-hearted tone simply a ruse for him still reeling over the fact that people are going to live in the building that has rumors of child abuse attached to it.
Daniel could not help the wheeze of laughter that squeezed out of his lungs. “Damnit, Sister Mary! I told you not to leave the light on at night!” Danny played along, hoping that his joking around with Sam would ease the dread beating in his heart. As unsettling as it was, that unease seeping into Daniel’s bones felt familiar.
“I’m gonna start making you pay rent!!” Sam continued with a laugh, his smile brighter than the floodlight pointed at them for the camera.
“Would you rather have a demonic nun or a creepy ghost child as your roommate?” Danny asked as they began to walk up to the entrance of the old orphanage.
Sam hummed in consideration, his fingers tapping on his chin. “Honestly? The nun.”
“Really?” That was not the answer Danny was expecting. Sam had a long documented history of not liking demons in the slightest. He was the most afraid of the “demonic” locations they visited.
“Well, 9 times out of 10, the ghost kid is actually a demon in disguise, right? So, rather than having the stress of having to guess whether or not it’s an actual kid, I’d rather have a demonic nun lady who’s honest about her identity.” Sam enthusiastically waved his hands as he spoke.
“So… you’d pick a demon?” Danny’s hopeful tone surprised even himself.
Rather than listen to Sam’s response, Daniel was instantly hit with a ringing in his ears that tuned him out the second he crossed the threshold into the abandoned building. He felt as if the world was moving in slow motion, his senses all zeroing in on the dark energy permeating out of the very walls of the place. Darkness charred the edges of his vision as they focused in on something at the end of the hall, something that was watching them from behind a corner. It was insane, but Danny felt as if he knew this presence, as if they were someone he was familiar with in passing, but was not closely acquainted with. And that wasn’t even the craziest part. Danny felt as if this… thing’s… attention was squarely on Sam and Sam alone.
“-aniel?”
With a touch of his hand to his shoulder, Sam yanked Danny out of whatever state he was just in. Like he emerged from a body of water, suddenly Daniel’s hearing was back to full capacity and his vision was fully intact. As he turned his head to look into Sam’s rich, amber eyes, time was restored to the correct speed.
Glancing back down the hallway once more, Daniel found nothing but a dark, liminal space with fallen plaster and wood pieces littering it. He shook his head to clear it, his curls hitting his cheeks. However, he was still left with the feeling of his brain being waterlogged.
“Are you ok?” Sam’s words dripped with concern, his eyes even glittering with it. With Sammy’s focus on him, Danny felt better. As long as he was next to Sam, nothing bad would happen. He vowed his life.
“I think you're right, I shouldn’t have taken that much DayQuil,” Danny joked, hoping it would distract a little from what just happened.
“Do we need to stop? You don’t have to do this tonight if you’re not-”
“I’m alright, Sammy, I promise.” Danny flashed his most charming smile towards his best friend. He knew it was manipulative, but he also knew that it was justified. What Danny had stopped Sammy from suggesting was the man doing the whole episode by himself. If Danny wasn’t there, Sam would most definitely get into trouble. Life-threatening trouble.
With an uncertain sigh, Sam gave Danny a comforting squeeze of his shoulder. That translated to him that Sam didn’t agree with Danny, but he was dropping the subject anyway.
“Alright. Let’s go into the nursery first. Apparently more than a few people have gotten voices on the Ovilus in there,” Sam dictated, pulling a flashlight from his pocket and clicking it on. The beam of cold LED light illuminated a flurry of dust particles that made Daniel want to sneeze just looking at them. Please let there be no asbestos in here
“And where is that?”
Daniel’s blood turned to ice in his veins as Sam pointed his flashlight beam down the hallway Daniel had just been staring down. “Somewhere down there. To the left, I think.”
The side that Thing was hiding
Daniel had to roll his eyes at himself. There wasn’t anything actually down there. It was probably just too much cold medicine making his brain weird.
“Ready for a baby, Sammy boy?” Danny jested, a crooked smile pulling at the left corner of his lips. He fumbled into the pocket of his own jacket, clicking on the flashlight as soon as he got a good grip on it.
“Only if it’s yours,” Sam replied, not missing a beat. Stunned, Danny turned his head to see Sam bounce his eyebrows at Daniel before trudging down the hall. For the second time in five minutes, Daniel found himself having to shake his head to clear it. Sam was going to be his demise, that he was sure of.
+++
“One more time. If you want to talk to us, please say one of our names back to us! My name is Sam,” Sam paused.
“And I’m Danny,” Daniel finished without missing a beat. He was used to having to introduce himself to empty rooms. But this time, he could not shake the feeling he was being watched. And it couldn’t be blamed on the cameras pointed at them.
“Da-an,” the electronic voice of the Ovilus device coughed out. That thing, allegedly, picked up on ghosts and spirits manipulating the environment and formed sounds in what was called “phonetic mode”. Most of the time it just sounded like a robot with a bad cough, but sometimes it would form some words that even Danny couldn’t deny.
“Oh, that’s a first. It wants to talk to you, Daniel,” Sam taunted, a shit-eating smirk on his lips as he held the device out to Danny. With a roll of his eyes, Danny took the thing from Sam’s hand and entertained the “ghost” trying to talk to him.
“You’ve reached Danny,” the man droned in an unenthusiastic tone. He tucked his arm around his middle and rested his arm holding the equipment on it.
“Hello… bro-o-ther.” That same chilling feeling that had been rattling his bones since Danny stepped onto the property slammed into him in full force, as if Lake Superior herself had sent a titanic wave to drown him. He wasn’t aware of the way his eyes widened nor the way he froze in place as if Medusa glanced his way.
With a weak smile, Danny tried to recover. “Josie? What are you doing all the way over here? Last I knew, you were still alive.”
“In-n-n-fernal.”
All of the moisture left Danny’s mouth.
“Uh-oh.”
If Danny didn’t know any better, he would’ve said the thing was laughing at him.
“What do you want?” Daniel’s tone was cold yet sturdy, like a predator growling out a warning.
Before the response came, Sam yipped in surprise, jumping about three feet in the air. He bolted over to Danny’s side from his spot across the room, tucking in against Danny’s arm. “Something just grabbed me.” His voice trembled on his tongue.
“Sam.” Out of instinct, Daniel wrapped a possessive arm around his best friend and pulled him tight against his side.
“What do you want from me?” Sam was attempting to be brave, but the way his voice wavered betrayed how scared he was.
“Everything.” With each word it spoke, the Ovilus became clearer and clearer. It still maintained its robotic tone, but the thing was not spouting words clear as day.
Perhaps it was the cold he was suffering from or too much DayQuil. But, no matter what you wanted to blame, the outcome remained: Danny slipped up. Again.
“Like hell you are,” Daniel growled. At the same time the Ovilus did.
“Daniel?” Sam’s meek voice squeaked out to his right.
“Scared. Tasty.”
Daniel pulled Sammy closer to his side out of a surge of protectiveness. His eyes were now rapidly scanning the darkness surrounding for any signs of danger or threats.
“Demons feast off fear…” Sam whispered. Because he was so close to Danny, the man could feel his best friend shaking.
That was when the Ovilus started to spew words in a different robotic tone. It sounded crazy, but it was as if the voice setting was changed on the device to make it sound higher-pitched.
“MINEMINEMINEMINEMINEMINEMINEMINE-”
“Sam,” Daniel interrupted, his eyes locked onto the doorway to the room they all stood in. The Ovilus was still repeating itself in Danny’s hand.
“W-What?” Sammy’s tone quivered as it escaped his lungs. Danny didn’t have to look over at him to know his face was drained of blood and his eyes were as big as the moon. He’d been in enough places that scared the shit out of Sam to have that expression of his permanently etched into his mind.
“I need you and the crew to get out.” It was a demand that left no room for argument.
But, of course, Sam was the exception to that rule.
“What?? No! I’m not leaving-”
“Damn it, Sam! I’m trying to save your life! So for once in your fucking life, do as I say!” He snapped his head over to Sam’s direction as he screamed at his best friend. There was a large pang of guilt that stabbed him through the heart as he realized he’d made Sam cry.
“Your… your eyes…” Sam trembled out, a quaking finger pointing at Danny’s face.
With a guilty sigh, Daniel kissed Sam on the forehead as he forced himself to soften his tone. “Please. Take everyone and get as far away from here as possible. I’ll meet up with you as soon as this is over; that’s a promise.”
With a few rapid blinks, Sam nodded his head shallowly. Daniel, reluctantly, let go of Sam before the co-host grabbed their cameraman by the arm and bolted out of the door. He spared Danny one last frightened glance before completely disappearing into the darkness. Daniel prayed (the irony was not lost on him) that seeing his love in such a terrified way was not the last way he’d ever gaze upon him.
“In love. Disgusting.”
Daniel just scoffed. There was no way in hell he was going to be ashamed of what he felt for Sam.
“Attach. Sam. Still.”
“I sent him out of range, you brainless bastard,” Daniel hissed, his eyes back on the doorway. It was the spot in the room where he felt that frigid darkness in the highest volume. He would be able to see it if he weren’t in this form.
“Sam. Frightened. You,” it taunted. Daniel knew it was just trying to get in his head, but, fuck, if it wasn’t true. He’d seen that look of terror on Sammy’s face as he’d yelled at him.
“I’ll take that over him being dead.” Daniel growled out, his jaw clenching so hard it could have shattered his teeth.
With a clench of his fist, the Ovilus shattered into thousands of pieces in his hand. He paid no mind to the stinging pain he experienced as his skin dripped with the blood of his fresh wounds.
“Enough chatter. Let’s dance, gingerbread.”
+++
Daniel had found Sam pacing on the crumbling street in front of the orphanage. While he was a little miffed that Sam decided to stay that close to the building, he could hardly stay mad. He watched for a moment as Sammy plowed his fingers through his silky locks, or chewed on the skin of his thumb, or shoved his hands into his pockets. It wasn’t until Danny approached Sam (more like limped towards him) that the man even noticed him.
Instead of the bone-crushing hug he was expecting from his best friend, Daniel was greeted with a face full of scalding, searing, divine, holy water.
“Fucking SHIT!” Danny wailed, clutching his face with his hands as he doubled over in pain, his knees hitting the dewy grass beneath him.
“YOU’RE A DEMON?!”
Sam’s screaming accusation echoed off the surrounding houses and trees, a flock of poor, unsuspecting birds taking flight into the twinkling sky.
Daniel, feverishly wiping the blessed water off his burning skin with the sleeve of his jacket, winced at the thundering volume Sam employed. Once he got as much of the water off of his face as he could, he looked up at Sam only to be met once more with a dousing of angelic H2O.
“Mother- Could you quit it with the holy water, please?!” Daniel begged, more than a little desperation in his tone as he pawed at his scorching skin. He was convinced that his face was going to be bubbling with blisters.
“You’re a demon.” It was a statement. A law of nature. What goes up, must come down; Daniel Wagner is a dirty fucking demon.
“Yes,” Daniel sighed in resignation. There was no denying it now. Not only was Danny very visibly adverse to holy water, but he was pretty sure in the heat of the moment, he had fucked up and flashed Sam his true eyes.
“Where the fuck is my best friend?” Sam growled through gritted teeth, his hand holding the holy water lifting up as if ready to strike again.
“Right here! Right here,” Danny rushed out, shielding himself with his arms.
“LIAR!!”
“No, please! Sammy! Sammy,” Danny begged again, dropping his arms so that he could look Sam in the eyes. “It’s me. It’s always been me. I swear.”
Danny wasn’t sure what it was, but Sam lowered the holy water. A breath of relief punched out of his chest, but the demon knew that this was far from over. There was still a righteous fury burning in his eyes and a set in his jaw that would have been extremely sexy if Danny weren’t so scared of losing Sam.
“Prove it.”
For a moment, Daniel didn’t know what to do. His mind floundered for a way to prove that the person Sam had always known as Danny was a demon. As he fumbled around his head, Sam deemed that he was taking too long and lifted up the holy water again.
“WAIT wait!! Shit- the first time we ever had a sleepover! It was at your house, and- and- we stayed in your shared bedroom with the twins at first, but then we snuck down to the basement to play Clue at 1 am. We got caught because we played that Carole King record too loud and woke up your mom.” Daniel was talking a mile a minute, feverishly attempting to pour his soul, or, the demon equivalent, into his words in the desperate hope Sam would believe him.
Sam thought for a second. But it was only for a second.
“Not good enough-”
“NO! God, Sam, please! I swear it’s me. I-I don’t know what else I can do to convince you. But I swear on my life, I’ve always been this way. And, yes, I did trick you and lie to you the whole time, I don’t deny that. But, that guy who you travel the world with and laugh with and spend all your hours with? That’s me.” Daniel didn’t know when he started crying, but he frankly didn’t care. He was too focused on searching Sam’s face for any indication that he was getting through to Sam.
His face was as impassible as stone.
“Fuck,” Danny whimpered under his breath, hanging his head as sobs wracked his body.
He was losing Sam.
“I know you don’t believe me. Hell, I don’t deserve to be believed. But, please just… please just try. You’re… You’re my best friend. You’re the reason I trapeze around the world looking for ghosts, why I shower in cold water because you take yours so scalding it nearly burns off your skin, so I let you go first. You’re the reason I know all the words to Layla by Eric Clapton and why I learned guitar. You’re the reason I get up in the mornings… the reason I breathe, Sam; so that I have enough air in my lungs to crack a joke on the off-chance I get to hear your laugh. I…” The words caught in Danny’s throat as it closed in on himself, painful sobs hiccupping out of his mouth that he tried to stifle with the press of his hand. “I love you, Sam. And… And I’d rather be tortured by Satan himself than lose you. But, I know that I hurt you. And I know that you’re afraid of me. So… if you le-” He couldn’t even form the words, even thinking them too painful of a fate. “But if you turned around and never came back, well… that’s more than I deserve.”
The night was perfectly silent, save for Daniel’s lamenting that echoed around him, as if taunting him. He was the worst demon ever forged in hellfire. Instead of feasting off of Sam’s soul and turning him towards hell like he’d been assigned to do, Daniel went and fell in love with the bastard. And there he was now, crying like a wimp because he thought he was going to lose Sam forever.
He was coming up with plans on how to get himself exorcized by some priest when he felt a pair of hands grab his wrists and pull them away from his face. Before Danny could even process what was happening, a pair of soft lips crashed into his own. They were so, so warm. In fact, they felt like sunshine as they chased away all of the storm clouds thundering inside of Danny.
Before he could really even savor them, the lips were gone from Danny’s. He’s ashamed to admit it, but the demon whimpered at their loss.
“You’re Daniel.” Despite being spoken as a statement, Danny heard the question in Sam’s words as he rested their foreheads together.
Danny didn’t trust his voice. Instead, he nodded in confirmation. That was all Sam needed.
“I’m so fucking pissed off at you. And I will be for a very, very, long time.”
Daniel could not control his cry of relief as it slipped out of his mouth. A fresh set of tears flowed from his eyes, these ones warm as they streamed down his cheeks. Once again, Daniel was able to read between the lines of Sam’s words better than anyone else; Sam wasn’t going anywhere.
“Thank you,” he managed to breathe out. He wanted so badly to pull Sam into a crushing hug, but he also did not want to test his luck.
“I have about a million questions for you that I expect answers for. Every. Single. One. Is that understood?” Sam’s tone was still steely, but Danny could hear his resolve start to crack.
“Anything you want. I promise.”
Finally, Sam let go of Danny’s wrists and wrapped his arms around him. That was all Daniel needed before he copied Sam and lunged at him with so much force, Sam was sent to the ground, landing on his back. He let out a grunt as he collided with the grass, but did nothing to remove his grip on Danny. The two of them stayed there for a length of time, god only knows how long.
“I love you, too,” Sam whispered into Danny’s ear. Overwhelmed by that confession, Daniel burst into tears all over again. Sam said nothing, just stroked Danny’s back in a soothing manner as Daniel released all of his worries over Sam rejecting him.
After he ceased crying, Daniel helped Sam up out of the grass. Despite it being July, the night was still cold. And Danny was still sick, something Sam would make fun of him for later on when he realized it.
“I don’t think we’ll be able to film anymore tonight,” Sam posited, his hand finding Danny’s and lacing their fingers together. Daniel felt his heart leap into his chest at the action, a smile so wide on his lips it made his cheeks hurt.
“Good thing we have access to it tomorrow night as well,” Danny reminded, swinging their interlocked hands as they walked back towards the car they drove there from the hotel.
“So… if demons exist… does that mean…?”
Despite his head tilting back in exasperation, Sam’s question only made Danny’s smile grow impossibly larger.
“Yes, Sam.”
“I KNEW GHOSTS WERE REAL!!!”

Bat dad meet Ghost dad
Several years earlier....
"JAAAAAAZZZZZZZZ!" Danny flew excited through the Ghost Zone with a little kid in his arms rushing past some of his former rogues as he made a B-Line for his sister that happened to be in the Zone too, currently in a deep conversation with Frostbite about something Danny hadn't cared to pay attention to long enough. But right now he had exciting news he really wanted to share with his sister. Even now as adults Danny tented to live out his childishness whenever he could especially when he and his family went into the Ghost Zone.
The Halfa came to a screeching halt as he grined brightly at his sister who looked back at him with a raised eyebrow, slightly amused at her younger brothers giddiness. "What is it Danny?"
"I got a son now!" Danny declared happily holding up a young ghost teen by the armpits into his sisters face.
The 'son' in Danny's hands stared at Jazz blinking owlishly as if the teen boy still needed a moment to catch up with what was going on and Jazz blinked back at the ghost and then at Danny. That was not a child but a teen ghost. Going by the size the kid was probably around 14 or 15 and he looked very much traumatised and Jazz could not tell if that was because of Danny or because of how the teen possible died.
"Danny what did you-" Her brother did not let her finish her question as he started rambling excitedly.
"He is a baby ghost Jazz! Look how young he is! I found him floating around aimlessly, his hunt hasn't even fully formed yet and when i picked him up there was that instant connection! You know the same-"
"Danny."
"I have with Clockwork and Pandora! I instantly knew he was mine! Mine to protect! Mine to guide! When I saw him I swear I just knew, I ghost adopted him the moment I made contact! He is family Jazz-"
"Danny."
"I just know he belongs with us! Look at him and tell me he doesn't have Fenton charms! I am sure Dan and Dani will love him too! He is such a cute little ghost! There is so much I can teach him! I will be the best dad ever to this wonderful little baby ghost! And-"
"Daniel William James Fenton!"
Danny bite his tongue instantly silenced when Jazz pulled out the full name call. Both him and the teen in his arms stared at her a bit shell shocked and in that moment Jazz couldn't help but hide a small amused smile at how similar Danny and the teen in his arms looked when they stared at her.
"Did you explain any of this to him?" She indicated to the teen, who's name she by the way still didn't know. Danny at least had the curtesy to look a little ashamed as Jazz pointed that out and let go of the teen so they could float on their own. She sighed with a fond smile before looking at the teen that looked a bit unsure between her and Danny now.
"What's your name?" She asked them with a friendly and encouraging smile.
"Jason...."
Current time...
Jason was in a little bit of a predicament. Originally he really thought he never would end up in this kind of situation espacially since he didn't think he would patch up things with Bruce any time soon. But we'll here he was...
Life liked proofing him wrong.
Like with he fact that Jason could use a ghost wail in dire situation. And that something like that would naturally call his ghost dad onto the scene since he collapsed after it.
And like with how he woke up in the bat caves med bay with both Danny and Bruce standing over him and glaring at each other. Or at least he thought they were glaring at each other that looked like a pretty annoyed stare in his eyes from Danny and Bruce's jaw was really tense from what was visible and not covered by his cowl.
So all Jason could do was endure at the moment. Aaaaand refuse to make eye contact with any of his present siblings. Mainly Dick because he wasn't sure how to interpret the others' smiles. For a moment Jason wondered if he could hide out in his ghost-dad's castle in the Ghost Zone for a while until whatever storm was brewing with Bruce was over.
There was also a moment in which Jason wondered if there could have been anything done to avoid this... confrontation(?). Before feeling the need to face palm because his Aunt that sort of has been giving him free therapy told him repeatedly that communication was key. He never regretted not listening to her more than he was right now.
To be fair. Communication with Bruce espacially hadn't been his strong suit for a while now before and after his death.
"So you are his Bat-Dad?" Jason did not like the way Danny, his ghost dad was using the word 'dad' right now. Oh good was he trying to challenge Bruce?
"And you are his Ghost-Dad?" Bruce grunted, oh now Jason was sure Bruce was giving Danny a glare, and Danny was getting that protective look in his eyes Jason was all to familiar with from his time as a dead baby ghost.
He groaned loudly sinking lower onto the medbed. Why did these things always have to happen to him? At least he was lucky that his Ghost Aunt and Uncle didn't show up too.

Now, of course, he and his friends had been preparing for this day since the first Ghost Attack on Amity Park. They had bags packed, emergency supplies stashed around Amity Park and surrounding cities, emergency funds, and safe houses. They had plans, preparations, and procedures that all of “Team Phantom” had memorized. Even Valery, who had only been a part of “Team Phantom” for a week and still didn’t know his identity! But none of them could have imagined that “Operation Friend or Foe” would happen like this. When all of their preparations were hundreds of miles away, supplies were out of reach, and where all of his friends and allies couldn't help him. "a dead king and a dark knight" by dark_princette :
Dylan liked to think herself a realist. Her prospects were not great, but she was nothing if not crafty and she was sure she could make it work. Survive until 18, get ownership of Fenton Works, go back to Amity, and find a way to keep Vlad as far away from her as she could. Each of those goals broke down into smaller ones, and as things were currently her wildest fantasy was being able to balance a third job on her schedule. That was it. No crazy dreams of greatness, no ground shaking ambitions. Just keep your head down, don't drag too much attention to yourself, and don't die. Again. The Story of Us by DisillusionedDanny :
Danny Fenton and Bruce Wayne have been best friends since they were children. Of course, sometimes friendships fizzle out without anyone meaning for it to happen. People grow up, they change, they become Batman. Thankfully, Fate has a way of bringing people back together. When the Supers are poisoned by Lex Luthor with no treatment in sight, John Constantine suggests that they summon the strongest healer in the Infinite Realms to see if they can possibly heal the supers. For the first time in twenty years, Bruce Wayne finds himself face-to-face with Danny Fenton once more. Only now, his dorky childhood best friend is a lot more attractive than he remembers. Grave Promises by Blueseabird2 :
Danny Fenton had nowhere to go and no one he could turn to without putting them in danger. Except, perhaps, the hero who'd cared for, respected, and trained Danny for all too short a time. Dick Grayson had never told anyone he'd once been trapped in the Ghost Zone. He'd also never forgotten the promise he'd made sure to get from Danny Phantom. Jason didn’t know what was going on but he was really very pissed that there was another kid with a y-shaped scar on their chest and eyes that feel like frozen reflections of home. Thankfully, there were suddenly several new targets for his rage and Dick seemed rather more inclined to join Jason than stop him. Word Count: 53,882
You Look Like You've Seen A Ghost by ShootingFromAfar :
"The runes are wrong." "What does that mean for us?"?" Tim hisses over the beginnings of a dozen voices rising in chant. "Nothing good." Jason states grimly, frantically racking his brain for any way out. Whatever entity is about to come out of this circle is going to be baring a fate worse than death. Jason would know. He’s been dead. …Actually speaking of being dead. Jason does know someone from the Ghost Zone with enough sheer audacity to help him fight what very well could be an actual demon. With a mental ‘fuck it’, Jason begins to chant. AKA: Jason and Danny became friends in the Ghost Zone. This is about to be everyone’s problem. Batman just wants to know who this illusive teenager is. Because he’s a meta. Obviously. Not for adoption reasons. No siree, not him. Word Count: 37,602
We're Longing for Daylight by AKelaNakamura :
Gotham is well used to Rogue attacks. There's always something blowing up or getting robbed or a Bat dropping from nowhere and kicking someone's teeth out. Gotham has adapted to this way of life. Of Rogues and Bats and Birds. Of gas attacks and fate decided by a flip of a coin. But there's something different about this latest attack. People across Gotham--from regular citizens to Rogues--are falling asleep. And not waking up. This rash of unexplained comas has left the city in shambles. There's no cause, no reason, and no answers.
With every Gotham vigilante working around the clock to try and find a cure, everyone is stretched thin. When the sickness hits one of their own, Jason decides he's had enough. He's going to find the cause for this and he's going to fix it. He's got a single thin lead and he's going to make it count. No matter what it costs him.

Danny thought he was pretty good at this whole harmless haunting thing. Really, it felt like he was doing good deeds through his pranking. Pull a few pranks on customers, drive up sales for the coffee shop as the rumor mill (correctly) begins claiming the place is haunted. Perfect symbiotic relationship. When Danny can't pass up the opportunity to continuously prank a certain regular, he finds himself being hired as an elite prankster the likes of which Gotham’s vigilantes have never seen. Steph is in love with the new coffee shop in town. The aesthetic? To die for. The vibes? Immaculate. The glitter markers? Genius. Don't go to Gotham Without Reading the Pamphlet
24k words and counting
In a time before the Metahuman Protection Acts:
When Danny Fenton's identity reveal goes horribly wrong, he finds himself in Gotham, hiding away from the GIW.
Cue metahuman traffickers intrigued by this new homeless teen and a bat family who are trying to take them down.
Chapter 1:
Danny clutched his arm across his stomach, desperately trying to keep his insides staying that way. His back against the rough stonework of the building he had just escaped, his eyes darted around frantically.
It wasn’t supposed to be like this.
It wasn’t supposed to be like this!
Just then he caught it, the smell of lilacs.
A barrage of moments flashed across his vision.
His mother's warm embrace after skinning his knee on the playground.
The way the sharp metal gleamed from the overhead operating light.
His mom bringing him hot soup when he was young and sick, before she became obsessed with her work.
The cold gloved hands, peeling back his skin . Digging through his chest .
The heavy thuds of footsteps snapped him out of it, his mother’s perfume still in the air. Danny forced himself to his feet, forced himself to stay quiet. He was too weak to use his invisibility, if they caught him now, he didn’t think he’d make it.
He’d transformed in front of them, hopeful for the first time in years that they would accept him, that they’d see their son. Not Phantom.
What an idiot he’d been.
He’d yelled at them, Screamed at them before they even cut him open that he was Danny, that they couldn’t do this to their son.
It would have been better if they had said something to him, anything that he could refute and challenge them with. But instead, they had been silent, only talking to each other in low voices and taking notes as they poked and prodded him. As they cut away pieces of him. Small at first.
At first.
He was lucky to have regenerative powers, though, how lucky could one be to be able to lose the same hand three times? The wound on his chest had begun to try and heal a few times but they just re-opened it, each time caring less about how cleanly they cut.
He stumbled a few feet and caught bright teal in the corner of his vision. He moved as quickly as he could behind some warehouse boxes and held his breath.
“Where is he? We can’t let him go Jack, not after what he did!”
“I’m tracking him now Mads, it won’t be long.”
Shit.
Danny inched along the wall further away from the two. How had he forgotten that? How long had he been in that place? Days? Weeks? His head was swimming from the drugs they’d pumped him full of. None to ease his pain, no, only to keep him sedated enough and test and see what kind of reaction a ghost body would have with different combinations.
It was because of him that they had created some of their best work. Weapons that could destroy a ghost.
Molecule by molecule.
His breath quickened and he forced his feet to move faster, ignoring the warm ectoplasm that ran down his jumpsuit.
A hand clamped down on his new and still tender right hand and he screamed.
—
The scream that had come from Danny had been more of a wheeze. It was so ridiculous that he began to laugh, harsh barely there laughter, but laughter all the same. He was going to die and he couldn’t even scream. Even B-rate horror movie characters could do that.
“Danny it’s me!”
Danny’s eyes focused and he gazed into blue eyes across from him.
“Jazz?” he wheezed
“Shush baby brother, follow me”
Jazz lead him around the buildings. He couldn’t even bring himself to care how much her grip on his hand hurt, she was here and he was going to be okay. He could feel tears threatening to escape.
Everything was going to be fine.
Jazz was here.
Everything would be fine.
Danny almost didn’t hear the sound of an ecto-gun charging up.
On instinct, he pushed Jazz away from him and turned to take the hit himself.
A searing pain invaded his back and spread its hot fingers through his limbs. His teeth began to chatter even as the heat spread through him. His core pulsed harder and harder to try and cool him down.
His knees gave out and he fell to the asphalt below, gasping in air.
He could hear muffled sounds as Jazz screamed something.
All of a sudden there was a whoosh of air and the GAV was between Danny and his parents. An arm covered in stockings pulled him into the vehicle and another person shone light into his eyes, opening them more to see better. Danny didn’t have the energy to swat their hand away.
“Shit, Sam drive faster!” Jazz said
“I’m going as fast as I can!”
He was so tired, ancients he was tired. Maybe he could just take a nap here, where it was safe. His eyelids fluttered closed. Someone began smacking his face
“No no, we’re not doing that! Stay with me Danny, stay awake!” Jazz said
The GAV swerved right and left, seemingly at random.
“Sam! GIW on the side!” Tucker shouted
“I see them! Hang on!” Sam said as she swerved hard and everything in the van moved to the left.
Danny yelped in pain as Jazz bumped into his stomach.
“Jesus you’re burning up. Hold on”
Jazz rattled around in her bag and pulled out 2 ecto-dejectos, giving Danny the shots as carefully as she could while in a frantically moving van. Jazz moved away from him and began filling a backpack.
“Okay Danny, Danny? Hey! Eyes on me! Good, I know this is a lot but you have to pay attention, there isn’t much time.”
“About 5 minutes out!” Tucker said
Jazz closed her eyes tight and huffed out a harsh breath. Opening her eyes she stared at Danny with determination.
“There is food in this bag, ecto-dejecto, money, first aid, a knife, a Fenton thermos,-”
“You’re not coming?” Danny said
Jazz swallowed hard, “No, at least not yet. We need to get you away from this as fast as possible. We’re going to distract the GIW and mom and dad, what matters is that you get out of here now.”
“But the tracker-” Danny eeked out
Jazz grimaced, “So we’re going to need to take some blood. Not a lot, just a few vials so that it pings on their radar. We’re all going to take one and run in opposite directions, that way they won't be able to tell which one is you.”
Danny’s obsession burned in his chest, he was the one who was supposed to be protecting them . Not the other way around.
Jazz placed her hand gently on his shoulder, “Please Danny”
He shouldn’t be leaving. He shouldn’t be abandoning his friends. He shouldn’t let them take this risk for him. He shouldn’t have told his parents, if he hadn’t done that none of this would be happening.
There are a lot of things he shouldn’t have done.
He held out his arm, “Just do it”
After dodging the GIW and his parents, who were none too happy that their van was stolen, they made it to a semi-secluded train yard. Their pursuers were just a few minutes behind. The sound of their engines and the smell of burnt rubber thick in the air.
Danny could stand now at least and stumbled out of the GAV, they all hugged and said their goodbyes, goodbyes that they promised each other were not their last. And they bolted into separate directions, Sam peeled out of the train yard and honked her horn to get the attention of the GIW away from the rest of them, at least for the moment.
Danny jogged up to the train slowly moving away from him and with his last burst of energy jumped into the train car. He lay there for a moment catching his breath before turning on his side and watching as the white vans split off into separate directions, ecto shots racing after his best friends. He lifted one of his hands, focusing on the tire of the closest van, willing himself to use an ectoblast. But no green power came and Danny was left to stare at Amity until it disappeared from view.
—
Danny spent the next few days in and out of consciousness. The first time he woke up he knew he had to deal with the giant cut in his chest. He had already put it off for too long. He had de-transformed in his sleep, that much was evident when he felt the pain roll through his body. He took a small peek at the cuts by lifting up his new shirt that had been stuffed in the bag. The thin layer of ice was still on it from the previous night. At least it helped with the pain a little.
He hyped himself up, muttering to himself that he could do this as he put the fishing wire through the needle and began haphazardly stitching himself shut. Thick hot tears pooled down his cheeks as he tried to remember to breathe through it.
He raffled through the bag and injected some more ecto-dejecto, a deep sigh leaving his body as the cold liquid eased some of the pain.
The sounds of the rattling train car lulled him to sleep, his head propped up on a small bit of hay that was stacked against the walls of the otherwise empty train car.
On the second day, he rationed his food and took note of everything he had in his pack. Just like Jazz had said he had some food, 4 ecto-dejectos left, money, first aid, a knife, and a Fenton thermos but also a t-shirt and pants that he was very thankful for. Sam had given him a frankly ridiculous sum of cash but considering he didn’t know how long he’d have to live off it, he was glad to have it.
His mind had once again traveled back to his friends, hoping against hope that they were fine and were able to trick the GIW easily and would be in contact with him soon. His only solace was that he knew Sam's parents had good lawyers so at least if they were caught Sam could talk her parents into helping Tucker and Jazz.
On the third day, some of the GIW had become wise to the plan and he had had to switch multiple trains to avoid detection. Luckily something was messing with their sensors and he was able to get away.
The drugs and adrenaline had worn off, and Danny fully felt the pain his parents had caused him. He checked on his chest but the cuts were still as raw as ever. Any other wound and he would be halfway healed by now, but he had a bad feeling this one would be different.
Today he had had to hide from another homeless person (crazy to think that he was homeless now) before the other man moved on after a few stops.
What was he going to do? Where was he going to live? He could never go back, that much he knew for certain. Not even if he died all the way, they would still be after him. He would never be able to rest.
Danny sat back against the train car, the dying sunlight of yet another day bathing him as he sobbed.

SHOWER THOUGHT!!!
Ok so I all I can do while cleaning my body is thing if random stuff in the shower to keep me on track and I keep thinking of the of the bat boys and dcxdp au's how they are kinda' like a mix between tnmt12 and rottmnt, so like think of this.
Dick = Leo (oldest/leader but fun and punny)[Blue] [actrobatic] [Welds two weapons] [blue eyes]
Jason = Raph (angery and violent but sweet with kids) [Red] [biggest] [green eyes] [intimating when just standing there] [*can probably cook]
Tim = Donny (nervous and anxious but very smart and tecsavy) [Autism] [he looks good in purple don't ask] [stays up all night working] [most likely to blow up something for fun/Unhinged]
Damian = Karai/Miwa (scary assassination baby that is trying there best) [tried to kill there brothers] [connection with murder group trys to change it or keep ties with it because it's what they know] [tried to stab brother] [Blood related to the father]
Alfred and Bruce = The two sides of master Splinter or that ram guy I dont rememberhis name {Fight and family} (petty as shit, obsessive and paranoid but is a dad and loved being a dad/will fight and kill for family] [*taught the kids what they know ]
Ra's al Ghul or/and Vlad = Shredder (manipulative obsessive bitchy old assassin/ninja man who wants power and will sacrifice anything and anyone even there own daughter for power and control) [Obsessive and has beef with the father figure] [Stinky] [should be dead by now but isn't] [leader of a cult] [*has been revived] [**used a child there hole life] [*** is in the father's past]
Killer Croc = leatherhead (seen as scary and dangerous but deep down a really good guy)[friends with the bright smiley brother as they where not as a monster by them and the smily chaos brother probably has fed them a weird food combo before] [croc or gaterb respectively] [lives in the sewers] [dosen't like people as they see him often as a moster because of a mutation]
I'm thinking Jazz or Val or Barbara = April from either worlds (smart and resourceful and cary's a bat) [not the best with range weapons] [ginger or glasses or spunk] [hide talent] [novice fighter in training] [*will probably out smart you with words] [**100% thinks of smiley chaos as a younger brother/sunshine to protect]
And last but not lest
Danny = Mikey (chill and chaotic but very good with what they do) [has ADHD but has learn ways around it] [is awesome in another dimension that they are knowledgeable about] [are often not believed about something] [Has died and come back vea electricity] [*excited about aliens] [**bad lier] [***has weirdest pet {icecream kitty and cujo the ghost dog} and friends {leather head and killer croc, wolf, frostbite}] [sweetest pretty est blue eyes and freckles that let him get away with murder]
I rest my case.

Mayans M.C. - 05x01 and 05x02
Thoughts, spoilers, and predictions behind the cut.
Please note, these are mostly just the ramblings of a lunatic. *waves* That'd be me.
Well. For fuck's fucking sakes. I had no idea about the premier until yesterday morning, because that is just how little I paid attention to the announcement. (I saw it posted, but if I checked for a date... Psssh... I certainly didn't remember it!).
Anyhow. Two-episode premiers kill me, and not in a good way. I'm exhausted, but that means the episodes held my attention well enough to keep me awake, so. That said, let me try and recall everything that I had wanted to say.
Okay, right off the bat:
The coffin in the previews. I haven't gone back to pause and take a head count, but I'd bet money that that's going to Alvarez in there, when the time comes. If not Alvarez, then Angel, but that's a sleek-looking casket. I just have a bad feeling for the both of them, because, as of right now, they are the only two who seem to be seeing reason. There are logical reasons why it wouldn't be Alvarez (mostly that I can't see his Mrs. just letting the Club have his body for that, unless he gets pulled back in). It's just a sinking feeling I have.
Alvarez. Since I've already brought him up... NEW BABY! YAY! But, it's clear that The World is weighing on him. I was quite surprised when he yelled at Santi, because he's been shown as such a good father. Then... Well. We all remember what happened with Esai. ANYHOW. Alvarez is one of the few characters I still stand behind. I want him to be able to retire in TRUE peace. My fear is that, if he goes down, his family will go with him, and I just don't want that.
Angel. I got A Bad Feeling while he was talking with Felipe, because that's usually the way. A man tries to do better for his family, and for himself, and he gets taken out. (Still a little sore over Coco). I fear that Angel will have this big redemption arc, only to have his heart broken, and then shot to shreds. It always takes something serious for the Main Dude to come around to reason, and become complete unhinged, at the same time. Much as I want to strangle the little bitch... I don't want Angel to be EZ's awakening.
EZ. I've been done with that motherfucker for at least two seasons. Not much has changed there.
Bishop. He's right. EZ will get them all killed. If not, then at least a few steps closer to the grave, each. Bishop can be the last man standing. I also hope he chokes on a cunt hair, stepping out on a nice lady like that. Shame on him.
Miguel. I like this man, and I think that's because I'm entirely partial to Danny Pino. He has a Good Boy face, and plays a Bad Dude so well. (I first saw him on The Shield, back in the early 2000's, playing Armadillo Quintero, and it was all uphill from there). ANYWAY. I wouldn't mind him getting a happy-ish ending. The fact that he's quietly trying to protect Little Brothers in the middle of a war just tickles me. When Soledad told him to cut his sentimental ties (or however she phrased that one), I snickered. The mess with his wife, on the other hand... I have to admit, I don't much care. His trip to the urinal, though... That scene brought me great joy.
Emily. This broad. She hasn't been a worthwhile character in so long? She could have disappeared from the show, and I wouldn't have given a damn. Pretty clear where this is going to go, now that she is - once again - down and desperate for help. I just never understood the point of her character. She's so far removed from EZ now, the road to getting them back into the same orbit is just going to suck.
Creeper. CAN THIS MAN PLEASE CATCH A FUCKING BREAK?! The poor bastard is the MC piñata, both physically and emotionally taking beatings left and right. CRIPES, y'all. Give the dude a break! I hope his little backstabbing bitch gets what's coming to her, one way or another.
Hank. My heart went out to him, last night. Doing what's best for our parents can sometimes suck. Hard. Aging is a gift denied to many, but the process can sometimes be ugly as sin. I felt Hank's pain on a personal level, as my own parents aren't in the best of health, and one of my greatest fears as a future caregiver is that I will have to make one of those Tough Calls. All the same, I saw some negative reactions toward him 'just leaving her there', and that made me mad. We all know how much Hank adores his mother. He's not in the best of shape himself, what with the cane, and picking up someone who takes a fall? Not as easy as it sounds. Ugh. It had to have been tearing him up inside, so I hope some folks can wake up to see that he isn't a bad guy for doing what he had to do for his mother. Shitty situation. Shitty choice to make. Shitty outcome.
Letty. Girlfriend. SO HAPPY to see she's still around. I thought that they might write her out, to be perfectly honest. While her new career choice is... interesting, to say the least, I am glad to see that she and Hope have worked themselves out. I don't care much for Hope's character. (She's a bit flat for me, personality-wise). But, I don't hate her. So. There is that.
Whew. That was a lot. But, that brings me to my final point:
HOW MANY STORYLINES DO WE REALLY NEED?! I feel that certain threads of this series could have been so much better if they had eased off on branching off in so many places. We don't get to spend much time on anything (except that thrice-be-damned pipeline), and the story really does suffer for it. I understand the concept of wide, wild visions for telling a tale. Believe me, I do. But this series lacks focus, unable to find a balanced manner of storytelling. It's fragmented, and rushed, and I know I complained about it last season, as well. I'm still watching. I'm going to finish it, God willing. But there was definite room for improvement on this one.
Bonus Thoughts:
"Put them back on the truck", and the resulting groans. Angel's reaction, especially. PERFECTION.
Angel's pooch encounter was also hysterical. 10/10.
I MAY HAVE MOMENTARILY FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE BROTHER THING. I was enjoying the delicious tension between Miguel and EZ for a hot minute, before it all came back to me. (I did that in the first season of Supernatural, too. Came in toward the end of the season, and thought Dean and John had some sexy friction between them, until my husband finally said, "HE'S THEIR FATHER!!!!"... Whoopsies...).
Unpopular Opinion: This Guero dude is already on my nerves. Sorry. Obnoxious as hell, he is.
I'm glad Felipe is getting to spend time with Maverick. (Oh, gag, that name...).
P.S. Hats off to Clayton Cardenas for the scene with the intruders. Angel isn't one to shrink back in fear, bullheaded as he is, but I could taste the terror on him when he found his son in danger. Mm. Delicious work, there.

MOVING THIS TO RBS bc i have my laptop and can actually give a longer response now. >:]. And man where do I start. Mmmmmm.
When Danny finds out he's a clone is v v important to me because in clone^2 he acquires Lil Damian after finding out he's Bruce Wayne's clone (rather than Batman's) and it offers a lot of weight and introspection to their relationship, but I also want to follow your post's canon. MMMM. I'm putting a pin in it for now bc im running circles around in my own head, and deciding for now that Danny knew he was a clone before he and Kon started dating, and waited to tell him because being a clone is very personal to him, and it's not something he tells just anyone. Only his close circle of friends and family know he's a clone, so him telling Kon was a huge show of trust and vulnerability.
Also, for no other reason than I think it's hysterical, but when Kon tells Tim about his boyfriend being Batman's clone, he has no idea about Damian. He knows Danny has a little brother he adores, but they've never met and Damian isn't really that rare of a name.
That's because Danny's pretty secure (most of the time) in the knowledge that nobody will piece together that he's a clone regardless of if he knows he's Bruce's/Batman's clone, since A (if he knows he's Bruce's clone): the current general public know Bruce Wayne as a he is currently; a well-dressed man in his late thirties-early forties with a Captain America build (among other things), and Danny is a 17-18-ish year old boy with a sleeper build and long hair and a preferred fashion of "baggy alternative that forces people of all kind to question their sexuality"
(Genderfluid danny for the WIN)
and B (if he knows he's Batman's clone): nobody knows what tf Batman looks like.
Baby Dames is a whole other story, since Damian Wayne is in the public eye quite often, Danny thinks Dames is at a bigger risk of getting recognized despite being significantly younger than his template. Which means he's a bit more protective/wary about introducing him to people, although they've been lucky so far.
Danny introduces Kon to Damian about a week or so after telling him about being a clone, Kon's positive reaction to the reveal gave Danny the confidence and security to introduce him to Damian. He doesn't outright state Damian is also a clone, but Kon connects the dots instantly upon meeting him, but is smart enough to keep mum about it.
ALSO, to switch gears again, I love the implication here (to me at least) that Tim knows about Danny, but hasn't quite met him yet. I think he'd clock Danny being a clone pretty quickly (not instantly, but quickly) due to the sheer amount of research/stalking he went into with Bruce. Iirc he even knew what kind of paintings he liked, so I think he'd definitely (even if its eventually) recognize a younger Bruce Wayne in Danny.
Like, oh, yeah, his best friend is dating some guy from the Midwest and Kon's probably told him everything under the sun about Danny -- like how he does this cute little grunt when you catch his attention, and that he has a habit of chewing on the end of his pen or thumb nail when he's lost in thought, and he scrunches up his brows sometimes when he's confused, and he has a smile that could light up a whole room, and eyes as bright as glaciers, and -- and it's to the point that Tim probably knows everything about the guy and they've never even met.
He doesn't even bother looking him up, because damn, he already knows what Danny looks like just from Kon's description alone. The one time he decides not to be an obsessive little freak and it comes around to bite him in the ass, because Danny is apparently a clone of Bruce. He finally goes and looks him up and goddamn, the similarities are right there. He even has Bruce's goofy-ass bat-wing shaped eyebrows.
How did this go under the radar for so long.
AND -- because the ADHD is hitting and i'm hopping topics like a mallet in whack-a-mole -- the meetcute. Obsessed with thinking about how Kon and Danny met, and imo the only appropriate (/j) way is that it was as mutually civilians. Except I wanna explore the concept, so instead of it being a coffeeshop meetcute, it's something else.
Danny is in Metropolis with his family for something and was exploring the city during the rare few moments he's alone, and it's very important to me and only me to mention that he's been having a rough go of it lately. Just the new-usual and monthly identity crisis, so he's gone and stuck more holes in his ears. With the added bonus of a brand spanking new eyebrow piercing and lip piercing. If he doesn't like it, he can just take them out and let them heal.
Anyways, he's standing at a stoplight and waiting for the crosswalk to go, Kon was standing next to him and they were relatively ignoring each other. They're standing at a corner with relatively low traffic, and the crosswalk lights up. What happens is that Kon is walking somewhat in front of Danny, when a car comes veering around the corner. It's going fast enough that it would've most certainly hit Kon, if he weren't half-kryptonian.
And also if it weren't for the fact that Danny is faster. Before Kon can dive out of the way of the oncoming speeder, an arm snakes around his waist and he's yanked back and onto the ground. Seconds later, the car whizzes past, a hairsbreadth away from Kon's feet.
"Shit." He says without thinking, slack-jawed and shocked for multiple reasons, and he continues to not think as he tacks on; "Good reflexes."
He turns to look at his supposed savior, and sees a boy with long, dark lashes and even longer hair, pretty blue eyes, and propping himself up on his elbow. The boy gives him a sarcastic smile, "Thanks," he says, "made them myself. You alright?"
"Just peachy." Kon manages to get out, and watches the boy unwrap his arm from around his waist and get up, and then thinks to get up himself.
"You'd think that guy was being chased by the Bat himself." The boy quips dryly, brushing himself off. "He's in the wrong city for that, Gotham is the next storm cloud over."
Kon snorts, and somehow manages to get the pretty boy's name and number, offering to show him the best places in Metropolis as repayment for "saving" him. The rest is history. They start out friends, and only start dating half a year later. Kon was visiting Metropolis to visit Clark and Lois, and heads back to Smallville after he's done -- which is fortunate. Because it's about five hours closer to Illinois than Metropolis, which makes popping by Amity Park to see Danny occasionally just a liitttle bit easier.
Over 900 prompt
Okay I love the Danny is a clone of Batman aus but I've never seen this done.
Danny and Kon dating and Then Danny learning his parents cloned Batman thinking he is a ghost only to find out he isn't and kept Danny as their kid.
Just think of the hilarious reactions
Caue this immediately popped into my head.
Kon: *muffled screaming into Tim's couch*
Tim: ....you good?
Kon: danny is the clone of Batman
Tim: ...
Kon: I'm the clone of Superman
Tim:...
Kon: AND WE ARE DATING!
#clone danny#danny is a clone#picture i have of danny in my head is very chill skater boy essentially. slouched in his arm chair in clothes he picked off from the ground#bc he hasnt had time to do laundry lately from all the ghosts. and he still looks incredible bc ofc he does. his hair is two days unwashed#and fluffy from being recently pulled back. he has bags the size of the marianna trench under his eyes and a lazy drawl. he's on video call#with kon and it's like 11 pm CST. Lost in memories
A/N: personally I am currently hating myself and the writer part of my brain for this. This idea got stuck in my head after I read a couple of amnesiac Danny fics and prompts. I needed to get it out of my head because it occupied to much free estate and distracted me from other things. So with all ideas that bother me like this I write it out. Also I have no idea if I will continue on this or if I will leave it like this that depends on how much free estate it continues to occupies in my head. But here a warning. It's Angsty (?), but if I continue this it will probably be Angst with a happy ending.
Things were good. Danny was happy. After having lost everything before and after many struggles he was happy again, having gained a second family. They weren't replacing his previous family but they helped him fill the emptiness that nearly tore him apart before. They helped him over his grief and hurt as well as protected him from himself and others.
He had more brothers and sisters than before, he even was a big brother now. There was a father figure now also, one that was at least somewhat better at parenting that his father was before but well not perfect with still a bunch of faults Jazz would have loved to analyse. And a grandfather that made the best cookies he had ever eaten before. Best of all they had accepted him the way he was too, even his ghostlyness.
It was also an added bonus that his new family put in the effort to help him have a better schedule and a more regulated life. It came in handy when your entire new family was in the vigilante business and had experience in managing and balancing it. With them he was truly feeling safe and happy now and wished for it to last for as long as possible.
To the Waynes Danny was the baby of the family. Sure he wasn't the youngest, that was still Damian. But Danny was the most open about his feelings and his show of affection from the moment they had saved him and managed to keep him. Alfred wasn't even sure if it was Bruce that had initiated the adoption or if it were the children that did it. After all Jason had stated his brotherly claim on Danny first before Dick AND Damian fought him over it, leaving an opening for Tim and Duke whisking in by having shared interests only for Cass beat them all by gaining his trust first and giving her the favorite sibling spot.
Eitherway Danny had wormed his way into the Wayne family after all the initial struggles and trust issues and became the perfect addition. His way of openly showing how much he loved and cared about his new family quickly stirred the protectiveness the entire bat clan had over him. He might be not as innocent as he appears but to them Danny was the baby.
That was why they were in a close to panic state now.
There had been an oversight on their part. They thought that after dealing with the Anti-Ecto Acts and the disbanding of the Government branch dedicated to hunt beings like Danny that he would be save with them. That there was no danger to him anymore. That he could be free now and do what he wanted, be it a vigilante or life a semi normal life. Sure they knew about the small reminds of these people but, the bats had made sure they never would get even remotely close to Danny.
Jason especially had enjoyed hunting these guys.
Yet somehow a small group of them had managed to evade their attention. They had napped Danny from them. Tim and their ghost boy had been out on a coffee-run they had been discussing on of their latest invention they were working on together. Something that was going to emulate Danny's ice to make it easier to catch certain rogues. Tim had left Danny's side only shortly to get their coffee order but that little time frame had been enough.
At first Tim had thought that his little brother was pulling one of his vanishing pranks on him again. But when Danny didn't reappear no matter how long Tim waited or how much he looked for him, he had grown more and more worried. To the point that he messaged the group chat, alerting all their other siblings.
From there they quickly figured out thanks to the surveillance cameras that Danny got abducted. The fact that the group that took him used tech that Danny personally had shown to them before was the glaring fact that a leftover group was the culprit.
Of course they had instantly gone to rescue their brother. They hadn't forgotten the horrors they had seen before when they had disbanded the original government branch. Even Dick came from Bludhaven to help, knowing the seriousness of the situation.
Yet when they finally got to Danny, it made them feel like they had been too late. Unconscious and a lot of green red blood and wounds placed right where years old scarring was. It had driven Jason into a green haze, something that hadn't happened since Danny had joined the family.
Right now Danny laid unconscious in the medbay. Jason and Cass were with him. The second eldest Wayne had refused to leave Danny's side ever since they had recovered him. Tim wasn't too far away from there either, guilt making him unable to leave. Duke was the one staying next to him for comfort. Damian was pacing by the Batcomputer with Dick trying to help their youngest calming down while Bruce was working on finding if there was anything more they might have overlooked.
A crash in the medbay caused everything to stop. There was only one second of stillness before shouting resounded from there. Making them all rush towards it. But that was what appeared to make the situation worse.
The moment they burst through the door of the medbay they found their brother hovering near the ceiling, staring at them all wide eyed. One hand was clutching the area around his stomach, no doubt having reopened the wounds Alfred had stitched up with that special thread that was only used for Danny, while his other hand was outstretched towards them with a green glow.
"Danny calm down! You're safe!" They heard Dick shout as he tried to get closer but stopped when Jason held an arm out to stop them from getting closer, shaking his head as he glared. It wasn't a glare directed at them but something was clearly making him angry. That was when Damian noticed it, Danny had flinched back at Dick's shout.
He flinched back, from them, looking every bit like he was about to run away.
That was when the rest of them finally saw how Danny watched them with eyes blown wide and filled with fear and panic. But worst of all there was no recognition in his eyes. He looked like one of those affected by fear gas, even though that stuff didn't even work on Danny. He wasn't in a rational state of mind.
"Danny?" Tim carefully asked, he didn't step closer. Doing that right now would most likely trigger their brother even more, he remembered all too well how flighty Danny had been with them in the beginning. He exchanged side glances with his siblings. They needed to calm Danny down before he ripped open even more wounds. They could already see green red stains showing through the shirt Alfred had dressed him in earlier.
"Who…" Danny's voice was barely hearable, cracking even. There was a glass of water by the bedside table prepared for this. But there was no way they could get Danny to drink it right now.
"Who are you people?"
It wasn't often that one simple question could cause so much heartbreak at once. But if your loving brother that has known you for a little over a year or two, the one family member that showed you openly affection and constantly reminded you how much he cared and had come to love you, says it then there was no other way to avoid the pain it caused. None of them showed it but they all felt it the moment Danny finished his sentence.
All the bat siblings had one collective thought as Damian clicked his tongue in an especially frustrated and annoyed way.
I am going to murder these Guy's in White.
