You know who I think about sometimes?
Sage. From last legacy.
I absolutely loved him and his route so much.
What happened? Did they stop his route? I know (not fully) the devs changed company?
But like is his story over? I genuinely was eating up his angst and story plot
Sage where are you? 😔

Finished Nadia’s Route in the Arcana!
Spoilers ahead cuz I need to rant
I am very gay for this woman, I have realized that much
She flirts about as much as Julian, here I was thinking I’d get a break
Lucio you toxic a-hole, your wife is mine deal with it!
Also don’t blame me for her being a strong independent woman now, she realized you sucked all on her own
Volta’s great, glad I could free you girl
Also Valerius and Hierophant teaming up with Nadia and I to bully Lucio is great
Upright: She proposed 🥺
Valerius actually being happy for us tho? Shocking
Heck yeah! Beating up Vulgora and Valdemar! Here i was thinking we were gonna leave them, thank god!
Family healing! Love that her family likes me!
Portia and Nadia’s sister? That’s adorable!
Reversed: What is with the characters and not trusting me to beat The Devil in the reversed endings!? First Julian now her!
Also she’s taking a note from his book with the whole “It’s too dangerous, you can’t follow me, I need to do this alone” etc, like jeez!
The actual heck Nadia!
“What do you offer?” “I offer *MC*” Like girl!?
Even the Devil is surprised!
I get no say in the matter ;-;
Yeah she looks pretty as the devil but that doesn’t change that I’m annoyed
Also Valerius controls Vesuvia now, that’s a thing
Aaaand I broke the magic keeping her in her realm, idk how I feel about that
That has been me ranting about Nadia’s route lol, conclusion? Upright is 100% the better ending!

When they say "be there or be square", today's Wet Beast Wednesday subject chose "square". I am referring to boxfish. Also known as cowfish, trunkfish, and cofferfish, these real-life Minecraft fish are bony fish in the family Ostraciidae, sometimes called Ostraciontidae. This makes them close relatives of pufferfish and file fish in the order Tetraodontiformes. While all the Tetraodontiformes are weird-looking fish, the cowfish are easily the strangest, they don't even really look that much like fish.
(image: the yellow boxfish Ostracion cubicum. They literally named it "cube")
The squarish shape of the boxfish comes from their unique skeleton. They have a carapace made of overlapping, hexagonal plates called dermal scutes that are the equivalent of scales in other fish. Each plate is composed of a soft and bendable collagen layer and mineralized surface layer. This carapace is very sturdy, with holes in it to allow for the eyes, mouth, fins, and cloaca to pass through. In game terminology, the cowfishes are stone walls. Because of the composition of the carapace, boxfish are fully rigid and cannot bend their bodies in any direction. This, combined with their not-overly hydrodynamic shapes, makes them slow and weak swimmers. When they filled out their character sheets they went all-in on defense and neglected speed and offense. A boxfish won't be winning any races, but the carapace is extremely hard to bite through or puncture, giving an effective defense. Despite their small sizes (the largest species can get up to 50 cm/20 in long, and most species are much smaller), adult boxfish have almost no natural predators. It's worth noting that while boxfish are slow swimmers, they are very maneuverable. They have the ability to create small vortices around their bodies to help maneuver.
(image: a boxfish skeleton)
(image: a boxfish with its hexagonal carapace visible through its skin)
Not satisfied with having an impenetrable shell, many species of boxfish developed another defense mechanism. When stressed, they can release poison into the water. These poisons are surfactants, substances that break up surface tension, that can damage the cell membranes of other animals. While each species has their own specific chemical and not every species is poisonous, these toxins are collectively called pahutoxins. Poison is a pretty common thing in the Tetraodontiformes. Famously, pufferfish, close relatives of boxfish, are highly poisonous. Most poisonous boxfish species are brightly colored. This is called aposematism and is used as a warning to potential predators that the animal is dangerous. A famous example of aposematism is the brightly-colored poison dart frogs. Young boxfish are typically more colorful than older ones.
(image: a longhorn cowfish Lactoria cornuta)
Boxfish are voracious omnivores that will eat just about anything that can fit in their tiny mouths. The majority of boxfish species live in coral reefs and their diet consists largely of algae that they scrape off of coral. Additional foods include sponges, tube worms, mollusks, and small fish and invertebrates. Some species can spit out water to blow aside sand and search for buried food.
(image: Ostracion meleagris, the spotted boxfish)
Boxfish are typically solitary, but occasionally come together in small groups. These groups typically consist of one male and a few females. Scientists speculate these groups are formed for reproduction. They are known to reproduce by swimming to the surface of the water, releasing their gametes, and quickly swimming away.
(Aracana ornata, the ornate boxfish)
Because of their unique appearances, boxfish are popular in aquariums. They are recommended for experts only because of their ability to release poison. Boxfish are easily stressed and can kill themselves and other tank-mates by releasing toxin. Aquarists usually say they should be kept in solo tanks or with smaller, mild-mannered tank-mates. In addition, they need to be in tanks with minimal water flow as even the current of a decently-sized filter can blow them around uncontrollably. People who keep boxfish have called them shy, but highly inquisitive and even playful. They have been reported spitting water and their handlers, apparently in an attempt to get attention.

Skadi - Day 115
Race: Lady
Aracana: Empress
Alignment: Light-Chaos
September 27th, 2024 (Posted Sep 30, 2024)
Among the most unique figures within Norse mythology, the most famous aside from the Æsir themselves are likely the jötunn. Many of the ranks of the frost giants have risen to pop-cultural infamy, such as Ymir or Grendel. However, one of the most baffling of the morally gray bunch of giants has to be today's Demon of the Day, and a fan favorite for many. This incredibly curious figure is none other than Skaði, commonly anglicized as Skadi. Of the many jötunn, Skadi is one of the most confusing, with a web of history and translations connecting her, somehow, to the Irish figure Scáthach, so without further ado, let's delve in.
Skadi herself is a rather simple figure, which is funny given how bizarre her portrayal in SMT is. As a jötunn, one could assume this giantess to be an antagonistic force, but she's a far friendlier face- she's a representation of hunting and the wilderness, as well as being the wife of Njörðr, the Norse god of the sea. Not much is said about Skadi, outside of her representation as a goddess of hunting and that, though she does have a major myth, being in the form of her heading to Asgard to get revenge for the death of her father, Þjazi. Now, if that name sounds somewhat familiar to you, I'd be surprised- but if you saw the name Thiazi, it might make more sense, as he was the giant who kidnapped Idun, who I went over in her own analysis.
While, predictably, kidnapping an Æsir will get you on the bad side of the rest of the gods, the younger Skadi didn't care- she marched all the way up to Asgard, tow in battle armor, and was met by the gods, who decided to play a game with her rather than entertain her quest for revenge- they offered her a husband in exchange for her condition of not attacking them, being to make her laugh. The thing is, Skadi wished to marry Baldur, but she was only given the ability to look at the feet of the gods who were set to be her spouse. She, naturally, thought the best looking feet would belong to Baldur, but, lo and behold, they belonged to Njörðr, a guy who just wanted to be left alone and hang out in the sea.
Displeased, Skadi went on to the next offering- to make her laugh- and Loki had an idea, as he always did. He tied a rope around one of his testes, and another around the beard of a jumping goat, and every time the goat would jump he'd yelp, causing her to laugh as he'd eventually fall in her lap. Finally, as a last thing to please her, Odin tossed Þjazi's eyes into the sky, where they became stars. The stars they became are somewhat disputed, but a common consensus seems to be that they were Castor and Pollux. Regardless, satisfied, Skadi eventually went to marry Njörðr, though the marriage went off with many hitches, and the two eventually went their separate ways.
Now, what does this all have to do with Scathach? Well, Scathach and Skadi both have similar names, similar roles, and lots of other similarities, being both representations of hunting in their respective cultures. This, eventually, led to a strange amount of conflation between the two, mostly led by one Barbara G. Walker in her book, the Woman's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets. The book drew a connection between Skadi and Scathach, claiming the two to effectively be the exact same figure, and while her claims have been disputed, this idea has permeated throughout culture (as seen with Fate Grand Order) as well as throughout SMT itself, wherein Skadi's design takes clear inspiration from elements of Scathach's. Overall, a pretty strange source for a stranger claim, but one that SMT took inspiration from regardless.

So, today, Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight RE LIVE ended.
Despite having almost not played in the last year, bot for lack of time due to work and lack of story update, I'm sad it's over.
It was one of the worst gacha game in terms of "luck", almost as much as Saint Seiya, but I spent a good amount of time (and money) on it, and at the end of everything I'm grateful for it.
Thanks to have created Yumeoji Fumi, a character so human, that struggled, stumbled so much, and thanks to others it gains the strenght to rise again, thanks because Fumi's mistakes and story echoes so much with my own, that she'll be always my favourite character.
Thanks for Rinmeikan and their story (which I'm so sad it didn't get a continuous after Arcana), and other's schools, and Aracana. But also a lot of others incredible characters, and their seiyuus which take them to life.
Also, thanks to all the creators, at the time I still was on twitter, and their fan art were gorgeous, and the fanfic writer, with some of the most incredible crack pairing ever as well as most memorable stories, like MahiMichi, the Haikyuu au, TamaFumi etc. It surely is thanks to them that I loved this game so much till now..!
I remember being so invested in pvp, keeping playing and winning at the last turn, or being incredible crushed by Op players, and all the small victories against them; or being finally able to do Round's Table Revues and winning them..!
They said don't be sad it's over, but be happy because it existed.
Well, it surely was a journey, not always easy, and with a bit of a bitter end (the management of this game took it to its end), but I'm glad I played it, and to having be a part of it..!

Saw your early guesses of the game post and oh my god I'm impressed by how you came up with all those conclusions u must've read a lot of books! I couldn't come up with initial ideas on the story ((I also finished Julian's route thinking asra was lucios murdered IDK WHY??))
I also agree on wishing the game leaned more on dark themes. I've never read a visual novel with near perfect characters it feels like a waste not having it rated 18+.
Even some dialogs in the game are a little too mature for PG 13 audience..
Well, I don't think you're wrong, after all Asra DID messed up with Lucio's ritual, and that ended up with his death! Asra is also a kinda gray character deep down, so even a more "direct" murder would have worked.
You have guessed right, I have read an unhealthy amount of Agatha Christie's production, and to be honest I think that Lucio's route would have at least entertained her: the whole [SPOILER]
"It wasn't a murder, I messed up" dropped on the character was an absolute masterpiece of a surprise if you didn't already played other routes.
But when all is said and done, even though The Aracana is a jewel of a free to play game, a darker story would have made it even better.
