Zai has spent his entire life in a third world country. Running with criminals, that started with his first gang at home and advanced to professional crime involving human, drug and arms trafficking. While he's had opportunities to leave a world of crime, Zai never took interest. This is the life he's known, chosen, and it's worked out very well for him. He hopes to do his worst if it results in the best outcome. For himself. While Zai can be quite aggressive, he is more often coldblooded and easy going on the surface. Though this could be considered a mask and manipulation to earn trust, there is genuineness to his fun-loving and joker behavior. Who doesn't like having a good time? Zai's godly magic manifested in a form of fangs and a crocodile tail. Similar to his father Sobek, God of the Nile and fertility, who had a literal crocodiles head. He has learned to use the fangs and tail in battle during his first month at New Olympus, but seeks other methods to use them. The God of Animus invited Zainab to join the Ouroboros for the accomplishments he achieved in his mortal life. His fateful blood connection to Sobek was the key. He's murdered, swindled, and rubbed elbows with some of the worst humans on the planet. While the Rook position has strong appeal, he's content with supporting his fellow acolytes in advancing the Dark Courts influence. No authority beyond that will threaten him again and there remains plenty of power to earn, destruction to spread, and new world to explore to satiate his ambition. For now.

Notes on our "chaotic evil" character, the word we are leaning on is "selfish". This theme will be consistent in our subtext and decision making, but wont always be a trigger in our dialogue or actions. Before all else, Zai is a survivalist and can live symbiotically with those around him--who prove useful. He also relies on his stealth, so keeping a low profile is more his thing. However, when it's battle time he will be having a lot of fun. Any potential enemy can be a target and they will be more like objects than people to him. He can be a dick and self-absorbed, but we aim to bring a sense of humor to all of it and sensibly pick our battles. Please understand the difference between in character and out of character actions, it's never personal. I will dm and ask permission first if Zai gets... bitey.
