(i added small details here in there, especially in crockett but def in bowie! i gave bowie a small patch on his head from where he was supposedly hit with the end of a pistol during the Sandbar Fight, and in the 2nd one i made his eyes duller just to finish off the “kinda doing whatever and don’t have much of a purpose” look—SORRY i’m done 💔)

“Joe and I took the Clash to see the Alamo. This was just after they finished filming the video ‘Rock the Casbah.’ I took these pictures. The bottom photo is of Joe Ely taking a photo of the Clash. Then we went to eat Mexican food and listened to mariachi bands play for us. It is a very good memory of times gone by.”

Two-Gun Kid No. 134, dated December 1976. Cover by Jack Kirby. Remember the Alamo! was a reprint from Two-Gun Kid No. 75, dated May 1965 with an added explanation that it was a "What If...?" type story imagining the Kid had lived 40 years earlier.

The Alamo
I literally spent the week tweaking this stupid piece of history so hard (Ik not stupid; that's why I tweaked it). I love history so much, and this is just one specific area. I was supposed to get a book about the Alamo from my history teacher, but he spent the entire week "searching" for it, so I never got it. But that's okay! So, a very quick, brief explanation of it...
In my own words...
The Mexican Government let some white folks into Texas and were like, "hey, we need you here so only you guys can bring your slaves," and then the other white folks heard about this and because they were all crazy obsessed with moving west and taking over everyone elses' land, they all moved too. And so the Mexican government was like, "ohh hell naww. That's enough," and the white folks said, "nothing is ever enough #manifestdestiney". So the Mexican government was like "oh..... ok...." and sent their best guy, very smartly named Antonio López de Santa Anna (who also became president of Mexico later too, idk), and a whole bunch of cannons to go get the white folk out. Those silly white folks fought for so long (13 days) and they all died. Including!! Davy Crocket, who I guess was a House of Rep. I didn't know that. I just thought he wore the hat. Anyway, other white folk learned about this and said, " oh, no. Remember the Alamo!!" but then forget the reason we were in this situation in the first place. Was it really just states rights?? Or did they just really like their slaves? Who knows.
