Roytim is such a fun crack rarepair for me! Dick’s best friend sleeping with/dating Dick’s baby brother Timmy is 10/10 drama on a more personal note than I’d picture it with Jason. Absolutely no shade I just have always read Dick as being more protective of Tim and Damian.
Do you have any Roytim headcanons to share? <3
oh i LOVE RoyTim on it's own! likely bc i'm just a Tim multishipper and if it fits i ship, but Roy is especially fun via the Dick connection. and i 1000% agree, *especially* pre-Flashpoint, would even argue it's outright canon that Dick is far more protective of Tim and Damian than he ever was with Jason (not out of dislike, but simply bc Dick and Jason were never all that close and the tragedy of losing Jason was losing what could've been, not what he already had) and especially with Jason as Red Hood, Dick holds no particular protective brotherly feelings toward him. it's all Tim and Damian. so you're so right, the drama of RoyTim is just a smidge more upped than of JayRoy and i'd love to share headcanons-
i think it makes for a fun "crush on your older brother's friend" situation. where like. Tim knows it's unrealistic and he has no *actual* intentions to chase it when he's just 15/16 and Roy and Dick are in their twenties, often hanging out around Tim. and Roy is handsome, he's funny, he's similar in personality to ppl Tim has dated (Steph, Kon) so, it's a crush. one that he hides *well* and never makes it Dick or Roy's problem, and one Tim never expects to pan out. he just fantasizes about Roy a little bit and mostly grows out of it by the time he's an adult.
i think more fics need Lian, so i like the idea of them co-parenting Lian. especially if they're both. sort of bad at it. like Roy loves her and he's trying, but he's doing this basically alone and it's not like he has experience. Tim also has no experience. neither of them know what on earth to do. it's a very cute idea that just relies on the two of them being terrible at parenting and Roy getting so mad that the first time Lian says "dada" she says it to Tim that he considers breaking up for a good five minutes.
how they get together can happen in a lot of ways, but i'm interested in the idea of Dick asking Roy to talk to Tim during Tim's Red Robin arc. Roy has experience helping kids through his work helping young addicts and nothing else has worked, so he offers to at least try with Tim. and Roy, who also doesn't handle grief well, understands at least some of what Tim is going through. especially since Roy dealt with Oliver dying and then suddenly coming back, he's at least open to the idea Bruce could be alive. he's just around to try and help Tim keep some emotional stability, but it ends up with Roy helping with the search and somehow, falling for Tim along the way
they go to sitcom levels of chaos trying to keep the relationship hidden from Dick. they *both* know Dick is far too protective of Tim to react well to it. but also, i think Roy would get *just* a bit of an ego about sleeping with Tim under Dick's nose. he makes a point of strutting around when Dick invites him over, finding reasons to be shirtless just to make Tim squirm a little bit. it's that sort of kink where you're excited about the risk of being caught. that fits these two so well and i can't explain it.
because Roy is used to mentoring younger heroes, i think he would have a bigger than normal moral panic about dating Tim. he fights his feelings for a *while*, to the point Tim can tell Roy is fighting his feelings and he's trying to convince Roy he's fine with this. Tim telling Roy about his childhood crush does not help. it makes Roy feel *worse*. it makes them take things very slowly, and i could see Roy being the type to never fully touch Tim until Tim is 18, no matter how much Tim insists it's okay.
i do think they have unhinged sex when they actually get into it though. no matter how sure Roy is that he'll be gentle the first time, the minute he gets his hands on Tim, it is feral. there is blood and foul dirty talk and Tim cannot walk the next day. i think Roy makes for a very mean dom, the type who will make fun of you for being a mess in bed. he just has those vibes, and it works great for getting Tim to just. turn his brain off.
i think Roy, who's struggled with picking hero names before, would be someone to try to force Tim to let go of Red Robin once the whole Bruce thing is over. it's not Tim's name and Tim doesn't need to keep punishing himself with it. Roy is nice about it at first, but then i do think he threatens to set that damn suit on fire if Tim keeps wearing it and doesn't come up with a new hero name. and the worst part is, Tim does know he's serious.
when Dick does find out, chaos. an absolute shitshow. when Roy tells him, Dick punches Roy in the face before he even finishes explaining himself. it's a pure gut reaction. even Bruce isn't as protective over Tim as Dick is. it takes a *lot* of convincing from Tim that it's okay and he wanted this before Dick calms down, and he still doesn't talk to Roy for like a month until the rest of the Titans are forced to hold an intervention reminding Dick of his own dating history with age gaps, like Babs. Dick does cool down, but he is not afraid to stoop to "you're fucking my brother" in an argument bc he wins everytime when he brings it up.
i think Tim is the protective partner. everyone *expects* it to be Roy, he's older and more experienced, but it's Tim who will absolutely lose it if someone threatens Roy's or Lian's life. like not fanonish "committing murder" Tim, but more so canonish "i have a contingency plan for everything" Tim. Roy has had to hold him back a couple times. honestly i think the moral conversations Roy and Tim have are so interesting. because Roy will cross the line for those he loves, so bc of that, Tim is careful to make sure Roy is never in a position where he has to protect Tim bc he knows it would turn lethal quickly. it's a very "i know what you're capable of and you don't scare me but i won't let you become a worse version of yourself bc of me" sort of self preservation vibe. i think it'd be very neat. Tim fights like hell when he's close to death bc his thought is always "i refuse to let Roy feel like he has to avenge me" which i find very crunchy.

🖤Black★Star x Kid🖤
plus some headcanons i have👀
Tumblr media
-nicknames they have for eachother:
Black★Star nicknames for Kid:
“Kiddo” : Just a playful twist on Kid’s name that can be both endearing and teasing.
"Night Star" : A nickname inspired by Kid’s role as a grim reaper and Black☆Star’s star motif, symbolizing their connection as partners.
"Golden Boy": A loving and slightly cheesy nickname that highlights how perfect Black☆Star thinks Kid is. (idk about this one)
Kid’s nicknames for Black★Star:
“Star” : A simple but meaningful nod to Black☆Star's name
“Starlight” : Reflecting the softer side of their relationship, "Starlight" would be a tender nickname Kid uses in more intimate moments.
some Headcanons for their Adult lives:
In public, Kid is more reserved about showing affection, while Black☆Star has no problem being loud and proud about his love. However, in private, Kid is the one who becomes more openly affectionate, enjoying quiet moments where he can relax and be close to Black☆Star.
Kid loves it when Black☆Star surprises him with perfectly symmetrical gifts or setups. Whether it’s arranging a meal or lining up their shoes in a perfect row, Black☆Star goes out of his way to make sure things are just right for Kid. He may not always get it perfect, but the effort melts Kid’s heart. (I ‘d like to imagine that Black☆Star asks Tsubaki for help to make Kid a bento :’) )
Black☆Star wakes up early to exercise and do his whole work out routine, meanwhile Kid likes to wake up at 8.
Black☆Star frequently gives Kid star-themed gifts to remind him of their bond. Whether it’s jewelry, trinkets, or even a star-shaped pillow, he finds ways to sneak stars into their life as a subtle declaration of his love.
Kid’s side of their shared space is always impeccably neat, while Black☆Star’s side is a bit messier. Despite Kid’s love for order, he doesn’t mind Black☆Star’s chaos as much as people might expect. It’s a sign that they’ve found a balance and a way to live together in harmony.
When Kid is overwhelmed by his duties as Lord Death, Black☆Star steps in to lighten the load. Whether it’s through humor, helping with tasks, or just being a supportive presence, Black☆Star knows how to keep Kid grounded when the weight of responsibility becomes too much.
Black☆Star is always there to lift Kid up when he’s feeling down or uncertain. His confidence and optimism are contagious, and he helps Kid see the brighter side of things, even when Kid is lost in thought or self-doubt.
Kid has a fear of not living up to his father’s legacy, but Black☆Star is always there to reassure him. He reminds Kid that he’s strong, capable, and loved, helping him see that he doesn’t have to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders alone.
Black☆Star learns patience through his relationship with Kid. While he’s naturally impulsive, being with Kid has taught him to slow down and think things through, especially when it comes to Kid’s meticulous nature.
Kid, over time, becomes more accepting of imperfections because of Black☆Star’s influence. Being with someone who lives so freely and chaotically helps him let go of the small stuff, realizing that not everything needs to be perfect for it to be beautiful.
When they argue, it’s usually intense but brief. Black☆Star tends to shout and let out his frustration quickly, while Kid stays calm and tries to reason things through. They’ve learned to resolve their differences by talking things out afterward, with Kid often initiating the conversation to ensure they’re both on the same page. But of course Black☆Star being himself, he tends to brush off things quickly.
After a fight, Black☆Star is the first to apologize—usually through grand gestures like showing up with flowers or doing something over-the-top to make Kid laugh. Kid, on the other hand, shows his forgiveness by planning a quiet date or organizing something special that reflects both of their interests.
Kid is more subtle with his affection, often leaving little notes or perfectly organized meals for Black☆Star when he’s busy with work. Black☆Star, on the other hand, is more direct, often surprising Kid with spontaneous acts of affection like sweeping him off his feet ,literally.
When they cuddle, Kid likes to lie in a perfectly symmetrical position with their bodies aligned, while Black☆Star has no problem sprawling out or even tangling them up in a mess of limbs. Kid has gotten used to it, though, and finds comfort in Black☆Star’s warmth despite the lack of symmetry.
These were some of my headcanons for Kid and Black☆Star i hope you like em :)

If Chase Yuong and the First Ninja start a fight, who will win in your opinion? Either way, it's going to be epic.
Tumblr media
anon ANON thank you. I've been dying to think more about those two in the same context, ever since i realized the similarities of these two idiots i like (greenish hair? martial artist? magical? kinda lived long???) But i've shoved those crossover-ish ideas away since i am busy with other stuff lol. but this gives me an excuse >;)
Ok, if we do NOT take canons in consideration (because lets be truthful, cartoons rarely can give a full scope of a character to our satisfactions lol) so I have 2-3 vague scenarios in which they clash (IMO either of them can win??? (because i like them both, even if i am more of First fan, so I cant decide who of them winning would be more entertaining lol)):
If First Ninja in his prime (sometime after imprisoning Sorcerer but before the Ultimate Lesson) clashed with 700 yo Chase Young (since this fucker is canonically 1500 yo) who would probably try to defeat First in order to make him part of his Jungle Cats harem:
Tumblr media
Chase is ridiculously, stupidly overpowered but one could argue that at 700 he hasn't yet reached the height of all his powers, so First would certainly have a fighting chance. First is supposedly uniquely trained since (probably) his birth by his Ninja Clan and continuous battles with the Sorcerer (and most likely other creatures, like Sorceress and Tengu and etc.) throughout his teenage-young adult life to take on enemies like Chase - overpowered magical beings/soulless monsters - with the help of Ninja Mask and all its powers.
Admittingly, in this case the win will most likely go to Chase, if only because of his experience and overwhelming array of powers at his disposal. Though considering we do not know the full scope of Ninja Mask's powers, First has like maybe 15-25% chance to win (and at least 30-45% in my mind if i consider my own hc about the mask lol), but not 0%.
If First Ninja's 800 yo. spirit somehow was released from/embodied by Ninjanomicon to clash with 1500 yo Chase Young in the Modern Present:
Tumblr media
Here a lot of my hc come in play. I fully believe that if First - with all the developed abilities, experiences, memories, power (and possibly spirits) acquired during his stay/merge within the Ninjanomicon and from over like 200 people who ever used the mask over 800 years - fought 1500 yo Chase - who spent at least a century or 2 or 3?? hidden away in his Fortress, growing just a bit complacent, since he clearly became too strong and thus bored of the world when it couldn't offer him decent opponents anymore, at least not until current Monks - the fight could go either way.
Chase is still stupidly OP, but its clear that he was deprived of good opponents for a loooooong time, since he resorted to fight against/taunt teenagers and Omi, who is basically a kid still. And they frequently managed to outmanoeuvre him in their confrontations, if not in an actual hand-to-hand fight then at least in common sense lol.
Meanwhile First trained and learned with his each of his successors years in and out, and while we dont know exactly what sort of things happened, we can say for sure that the fighting was continuous. Ninja barely had any rest, for the Sorcerer probably attracted chaos inclined allies and minions and thus a never ending stream of enemies for Ninja to battle.
If basic bitches clash aka OG Good Chase and First Ninja before he was First Ninja:
Tumblr media
This is just for fun and because I fully believe that pre-Ninja Mask First will trounce Good Chase. xD
We do not know Chase's past, and there are various headcanons on how he came to be a Xiaolin Monk, but let's just say that judging by his apperance and XS voice, he is probably a very young adult-ish before he drunk his Soup, so he most likely was a Monk since at least his pre-teen/teen years. He appears to be insecure in his Monk-ness and in his abilities to become the greatest warrior despite his competence, since he was swayed/manipulated/convinced? to sell his soul to a demon for more power and freedom from Monk values.
If we judge First's appearance and voice, he would be perhaps a slight bit older than Chase when he became The Ninja, and not to mention since he was born into the Ninja Clan, he was likely trained since he was very young. His personality appears to be very studious and there is certainly a great deal of strength in his character since he not only managed to continue on with his duty even after loosing his brothers but also not succumbing to the overwhelming Power of the Mask that can corrupt those of weak belief and hold the title of the Ninja longer than anyone else.
(Not to mention I am of very biased opinion that Ninjas are cooler than Monks. lol. Also we can assume they all have magic of some sort. Like think Naruto like Ninjas and Xiaolin Elemental Dragons/Monks.)
ALSO in case 1, obviously if they fought with the agreement that if Chase wins he would ABSOLUTELY add First into his Jungle Cat harem. First will most likely add/request a stipulation that Ninja Mask was not taken with First and I can see Chase honoring that agreement, so the Ninja legacy will continue on and Chase still gets an incredible warrior to his ranks, and perhaps more warriors if the future ex-Ninjas would decide to try and fight him later on. ;)
Tumblr media
(first's animal form would be either a leopard or iriomote cat (both native to Japan) or a crow because tengu connection/associations ;D )
And if First wins, he certainly would figure out how to contain Chase, (perhaps even in the Ninjanomicon itself hohoho) since he somehow managed to contain a sorcerer that controls chaos with some binding, magic from a mythical beast and in a deep hole that perhaps connected to some dark realm, like??

"take an extra long shower?" JESS ANGST
HI
I'm having a crappy day so I am on my Gilmore Girls rewatch and I reached a point that even when I was a thirteen/fourteen year old kid REALLY STOOD OUT as evidence that Jess has had a fucked up life??
Fandom varies a whole lot on interpretations of Jess's life in New York which is lovely I love that fandom let's us take things as we take them
These range from "Liz is an ordinary mom and Jess is a difficult obstinate kid who is giving his single mom a lot of grief" (I don't love this one but you do you) to "Extreme chaos, Liz was using hard drugs, Jess was severely dangerously constantly abused and neglected" (I land not quite this far but definitely over the median line)
We have a lot of evidence we take out to point in either direction, but there's one thing I don't see discussed often in 3x13
So Jess (a high school student) is keeping the diner open at 11:30 at night, waiting for Luke to come back from his date with Nicole. The diner certinaly is not open until midnight, is Jess keeping it open just so he can catch them when the come in and see what's going on? So they don't walk in on him living his life in his apartment with no privacy?
Jess, certainly without being asked to, has placed himself ready to respond to this situation and take control.
He has fresh hot coffee for them and acts quickly when they walk in
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luke has no idea what he's talking about, and Jess is acting like this is something that both of them are aware of and silently already agreed upon. He's genuinely confused that Luke is confused about the idea of him wandering around after midnight so Luke can have sex in their one room apartment
Tumblr media
Then when Luke finally catches on and tries to take Jess aside, Jess is even more confused and maybe a little scared?
Tumblr media
Look at Nicole just having the time of her life
In Jess's mind it is a GIVEN that he is going to get out of the way so that Luke can hook up with his date. He is genuinely confused and them ALARMED and argumentative when Luke tries to shut it down.
Luke is a normal healthyish adult who knows that a kid being out in the cold when he doesn't have a friend whose house he's playing video games while waiting around at is a BAD THING. He never planned on Jess leaving??? He's probably a little surprised Jess is up at all, why is the diner open why isn't he asleep? Jess had kicked out Kirk on his own plenty of times, and Caesar is gone, but he isn't about to tell his kid off in front of Nicole.
And he doesn't. When he realizes what's going on he gets Jess out of the room to talk/yell at him. Which is good?
(Luke also literally hits him in the back of the head while Jess is arguing?? I love Luke and I know it's a little bop not a smack but YIKES let's not?????)
Considering how Jess thinks there's two ways to read this.
One is that Jess has been doing this for years with Liz. The adult who is pretending to take care of him (from Jess's POV) coming back to a cramped living space with no privacy is something he already has a routine for. He is awake, he is ready for them to come back, he gets a read on what's going on and then if he doesn't think he has to protect Liz/Luke from the date then he is GONE. It's 11:30 at night? So? He's just going to walk around and stay the fuck out of the way.
Jess is acting out a pattern he's lived over and over, and he doesn't find being booted out into the cold to be unusual, it's confusing that anyone else would.
The second way is that Jess is truly trying to be a bro to his uncle and get him laid. He sees how Luke is a freaking monk and wants to be helpful so he can hook up with this lawyer. He isn't acting out a pattern, he's trying something new.
But fuck that ALSO is not looking good???? It's not ideal at all that Luke has chosen for their living situation to be a big open room, but Jess has adjusted to it and he's willing to take the hit and go out in the cold so that Luke can get laid.
This scenario would show that he truly assumes that Luke is not concerned about his welfare--which is whatever, fine. Okay. Luke doesn't care that Jess has to go out into the cold so he can get laid--Jess is confused that he does.
It also suggests that Jess truly believes it is his job to take care of his guardian, not the other way around.
Overall this scene, while kind of funny, actually has really dark edges to it? Either Jess thinks he has to get out of dodge to protect himself, or he thinks it's his job to manage Luke's social life. Given we know that Liz had guys coming in and out, and it's not likely Jess often lived places with a lot of privacy, he is almost certainly acting out routines he's been taking part of since he was young.
Jess has probably gone out into the night to avoid hearing that shit plenty of times.
And when it was raining, or too cold, or just not an option?
Why do you think Jess needs the music on to sleep?

Headcanon Series #15
Okay, I need some IceMav!daughter stuff or I'm gonna burst!
I imagine a one-night-stand accident or a deceased mother of the girl and Tom/Pete got custody. (sth like that, the point is they’re a single parent)
Now, when they move in together (after cutting the crap and finally hooking up, developing a relationship) the little girl grows up with at first one, then two fathers.
Mav is Pops and Ice is Papa. East-European Tom Kazansky absolutely gets the ‘Papa’ title.
She learns the cooking from Mav because he had to make his own food pretty early on in his life (rough childhood, you know the drill)
(based on a Bruce Wayne Headcanon I can’t find anymore) Ice can’t cook at all. He can set a kitchen on fire with only a wooden spoon and cold water. The only thing he actually can do is an excellent bbq, which he becomes famous for. Ice teaches his daughter all the tricks and when she gets older, and Ice is maybe too exhausted after a day of work or sth, she’ll fire up the grill and provide amazing food for everyone around.
Also, Ice spent his childhood baking with his mother and her mother whenever they met, so the kid learns baking from him.
Mav teaches her how to fix cars and motorcycles. His hyperfixation kinda catches her too and they spend many weekends in the garage.
I am utterly obsessed with with this fanfiction and needed to implement it into this - Ice reads really weird bedtime stories, but she loves every single one of them.
Of course she grows up with Bradley (they’re around the same age, idc who’s older) and the adults around them like to refer to them as the chaos cousins. When Mav and Ice take Bradley in after Carole dies, they become the chaos siblings.
Bradley loves his sister and is super protective of her when they are in their teens. When she got cruelly dumped by her boyfriend in her first year of high school, Bradley stormed into the guys’ classroom and broke his nose. The principal had to call his parents, so Tom interrupted an important meeting and showed up in uniform at school to get his kid. The principal was kinda intimidated because of course Tom put on his Iceman™ look and stared the guy down, so Bradley ended up being expelled for only the rest of the day. (I think I need to write something separate about this)
Let’s take a closer look at the whole custody situation: Mav made Ice his emergency Contact and vice versa. Obvious. In the eyes of the Navy they are ‘best friends’ and brothers in arms; it’s not an uncommon thing to do so. Concerning the kids; they’re always both listed as emergency contacts for the kids. In a scenario where Tom has a daughter, they always argue “we both have a kid, we’re basically brothers, the kids are grew up together; they’re like cousins - we’re a family in the Navy, we look out for each other.” In a scenario where Mav has a daughter, he answers to that question with “Ice is like a brother to me; we’re best friends. He knows the kid(s). I can’t always respond, so I need another person to watch over the kid(s). He was the first to agree to that.” (I don’t know if this makes sense)
Regarding Bradley being an overprotective sibling; that girl doesn’t actually need any protection - after all, both her fathers are Navy legends and well respected and feared men in the military. She can stand her ground pretty well.
The flyboys often joke around if she actually might be a genetic experiment where they took Pete’s and Ton’s DNA to create the ultimate soldier because she inherits significant parts of both their personalities. She gets Mav’s recklessness and Ice’s strategic thinking, so everything she does, however stupid it might look, she does on purpose. She also got both their stubbornness. They all agree; if she ever starts a career in the Navy, she’s gonna be a nightmare for her superiors.
She starts a career in the Navy. Of course she had the chance to do something else, but she grew up surrounded by people being very passionate about their jobs and they just kinda naturally dragged her into it. Her military education looks something like this, I found it and almost died of laughter because this is kinda exactly how I imagined it, this is a piece of art!
She’s just as protective of her brother as he is over her and that’s why she hates Jake in the beginning. Sure, they’re now adults, but Bradley has such an unhealthy relationship with that guy, on and off and back on; then they’re fucking in a closet, the next minute they shout at each other over training exercises - she doesn’t get why Bradley keeps crawling back to that guy. After the Uranium-Mission (Ice lives, Mav doesn’t have the fight with Bradley) she starts appreciating the guy a little more because for one, he saved her father and brother, second, now that both men are more mature than ever and develope an actual relationship, she can see parallels in them to her fathers and she gets why they can’t keep away from each other. (Also don’t know if this makes sense)
Both her fathers walk her down the aisle on her wedding day, she insists on that.
Please expand if you have additions! <3

Also how do you think ginny and Harry's marital life was? Did they get married early?Did Ginny sometimes resent her husband's profession? As a couple do you think they fought often?
Thanks so much for always replying to all the asks so wonderfully! You're so amazing!!!
I think Harry and Ginny's marital life was happy, of course! I think their marriage was a singular source of stability and renewing joy throughout their adult lives. (can you imagine if I was like... nah, it was garbage, divorce)
Tumblr media
Without further ado... here's too many words and thoughts on Harry and Ginny's married life and careers, and some fic recs that have helped shape how I think about it dotted throughout. Come for the twee house descriptions, stay for the rant about neoliberal feminism at the end I guess!
On married life and the Potter household:
I love the idea of the Potters presiding over this ramshackle chaos household in big house near the sea, with a great big garden and treehouse for their kids and the cousins and various pets to maraud about all over the place. I actually think quite a lot about the house they'd be in. I love the idea of them building it from scratch, a big house with modern comforts but rustic, cosy, English country features, more horizontal than vertical (kind of farm/barn conversion vibes). In my mind, their house has lots of light, lots of beams and soft wood furnishings, and then a few quirky features and colours that are all Ginny's idea (Luna paints beautiful murals on each of the kids' walls). I imagine their house has lots of big windows with window seats so the adults can sit out and watch the kids play outside. I think the kitchen/dining room would be the heart of the house. Harry's doing the cooking, Ginny's writing at the table, kids are streaming in and out, it's just a real thoroughfare of teenagers and family friends and grandparents streaming through with the wireless on.
On marrying and having kids young:
I do really think Harry and Ginny got married early and had kids young. As I get older I only get more ok with that as a timescale for them. I think the intensity of their wartime experiences, their very involved role as godparents to Teddy (especially thinking maybe it might be nice for Teddy to have younger god-siblings), and their family reference points (both being from families where marrying young is quite normal, and where babies and toddlers are increasingly around a lot) are all factors that lend themselves to these two locking in in their early twenties. The pieces I love most on their marriage/babies etc are all ones that have a lot of humour and spontaneity and walk this gorgeous line between flippancy and total certainty - acesofdiamond's version of their wedding in Arran, Scotland, is canon to me, and also quickfire by flagpoles, on them having a shotgun wedding, is just so so so good and so them.
On Harry's career:
I think Ginny would understand why Harry chose the career he did, but I think it would be a source of tension for them. I'm thinking a lot about this at the minute for some writing (👀), but I think Harry as an adult would have to confront the fact that he intends to keep choosing to get back in the arena and fight Dark magic, this thing he does it to keep the people he loves safe but that also asks so much of the same loved ones who have to watch him do it. I think Ginny would try to push him to see that, but I don't think those would be easy conversations, and I do think it would be one of the things they argue most about on the occasions when they do, properly, fight. On the day to day, things they bicker over include: whose fault it is that the house is a mess (obviously it's both of them, plus the three messy children those two messy kids created); whose fault it is that the Potters are literally always late to everything (Harry blames Ginny, Ginny says the only reason he was ever on time before was because of Hermione, and he chose not to marry the punctual one so he just has to lump it); and Ginny losing her wand around the house/not keeping her wand on her (it takes Harry a long time to say it, but he's always just thinking of James on the sofa the night he died).
On Ginny's career:
I know this is a bit controversial, but I'm honestly happy with the idea of Ginny quitting playing professional Quidditch young. I think she quits after she has James, or maybe between Albus and Lily, so by the time she's about twenty four, twenty five. This is a bit of a soapbox one for me, and maybe one day I'll write about it in some form, but I think there's quite a lot to be said for freeing yourself from being accountable to career decisions and dreams you once had for yourself when you were seventeen, especially career plans that served as escape hatches from traumatic teen years (for the same reason, I like the idea of Ron quitting the Aurors after a few years). I think, as teenagers, we imagine futures for versions of ourselves we haven't met yet. Renegotiating your hopes and aspirations for yourself can be a real sign of growth; holding yourself hostage to who you thought you'd be can make you very miserable.
Relatedly, I do think Ginny in her mid-twenties might have a different relationship to her playing Quidditch than she has a teen. I think lot of her wanting to play professionally is about her having something to prove (I have also totally adopted the headcanon from this fantastic piece on Ginny wanting to be outdoors and in the air as a rejection of the chamber). It feels right to me that Ginny might reconsider her attitude to physical risk and injury by her mid-twenties, particularly if her children are watching her play an extremely dangerous sport week-in week out. I also think she might reconsider how much time she wants to spend away from her family. I wonder if Ginny would also develop a different relationship to the sport outside of a school context, especially the press scrutiny and the big business of sport on the outside. We know that when she quits playing, it's not the end of her professional life, and I think her writing about the sport, and being a voice in the culture of the sport but also in the Wizarding World at large, makes a ton of sense for her. But I think it's good to change jobs because what you want for yourself changes, and I really think it's not a feminist failing to want to spend time with your family and to look for jobs that are interesting and help give your life meaning but that also let you have a family life. It's boardroom girlboss neoliberal nonsense feminism that says wanting to spend time with your friends and family is less of a route to happiness than climbing up some horrendous hyper-individualist career ladder in pursuit of success (especially, in Ginny's case, in professional sport, where careers only ever end on a downturn).
Thank you anon for wanting to hear me bang on about all of this!

Late night coffee.
Info: No romance, Teen!Satan & GN!Mc, Human AU.
Context: You recently opened your dream Cat Café. Just today a rather extravagant family moved to the neighborhood, and one of the kids seems to be out for a little cat visit.
Warnings: Mentioned physical violence.
Tumblr media
It was almost 23:00, way past closing time. You were downstairs at the cafe to feed the three cats you were currently fostering. You were petting the oldest of them when a loud banging on the door interrupted you.
You answered, unafraid as always, ready to fight whoever was bothering you at that hour. But you didn't find a burglar nor a junky on the other side. Instead, a blonde teen stood there, shaking as tears streamed down his cheeks. One of Lucifer's kids.
That morning was a rainy Sunday and not many people were going out. The slow time had you dozing off a little on the counter. They came in when you were least prepared.
The moment the seven siblings stepped foot inside, the energy completely changed. What you could only describe as a sudden wave of chaos. Even the cats retreated behind their little safe area. A corner of the salon you had separated from the rest with glass walls; it had an entrance small and high enough that only the cats could enter it.
"They have cats!" exclaimed an overly excited blonde teen. He grabbed at the shirt of another, smaller, blond and pulled him to look at the cats.
The two older teens took a seat at one of your bigger tables. They didn't stop arguing a single second from the moment they stepped inside, something about money. Another kid, a redhead, stood in front of your pastry display with an amazed face. He repeatedly asked if he could get one, looking at the only adult you could identify.
The tall, lean man ignored every single one of his companions as he approached the counter. You saw a sixth (SIXTH!) kid hiding behind him. He smiled at you, and you just knew the man needed a coffee.
"Good morning, I'm Lucifer Morning Star. My siblings and I just moved a few blocks away. We're introducing ourselves around the neighborhood," he said. By the tiredness in his voice, you couldn't imagine that it was going well.
"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you," you offered him your hand for a shake and he took it. "I'm Mc, feel free to come over anytime you need a coffee." Which you assumed would be often.
The siblings introduced themselves one by one, as they ordered.
If you remember correctly, the one standing at your door was Satan.
"Can I pet the cats?!" he screamed over the storm outside. He looked pissed, but his voice broke in a desperate way.
You stepped aside to let the kid in.
He was drenched. His house was just a few blocks away, but with how strong the storm was, it didn't surprise you.
"I'll bring you a towel."
He didn't look at you and instead marched straight toward the cats, who scattered away from him.
You went upstairs to your apartment, unsure of what to do. You left him in because well, what else could you do when a kid came crying at your door at night. You couldn't let him outside, but you also didn't want to get in any trouble. You should ask Lucifer to pick him up, but didn't have his number. And calling the police felt overkill.
You resolved to at least make sure he didn't freeze to death.
When you went back with the towel, he was still trying to get the attention of a kitten. The little orange tabby had climbed up a cat tower and was taunting poor Satan with his unreachable cuteness.
"You need to be more gentle with them," you said as you threw the towel over him.
"I'm being gentle!" his scream just served to startle the cat and send him climbing even higher.
Satan's expression changed from angry to sad in a second, and it made your heart sink.
"You want some coffee?" You asked.
He nodded slowly, "With cream please."
You nodded back and got to work behind the counter. You turned the heater up, both the cats and the blonde thanked you.
He grabbed the towel and dried himself off as best he could, though his clothes were still drenched. Now calmed down, he sat on the floor. He didn't want to ruin your chairs.
He looked at the cats. The orange cat he was chasing was now waking up an older, white cat to play. The older cat started to lick the kitten as if telling him to calm down. The kitten seemed to understand. He laid down beside her and they slept together. He wanted to sleep with them so bad.
"Now, what are you doing on the floor?" You said suddenly, surprising him. You sat down at a table with two freshly made coffees waiting. "You already look sad enough as is, come sit with me".
He laughed a little as he stood up, out of embarrassment more than anything.
He sat in front of you and let out a little squeak, looking at the cat head you sculpted with the foam of his coffee.
"It's so cute," he said with a huge smile.
"Thank you, it took a long time to master the ancient art of foam cats you know? You better appreciate it". You said with an exaggerated pompous tone and he laughed.
He took a sip of the drink, secretly decaffeinated. He felt a little bad about having to drink the cat. You looked at the dry tears on his face.
"Will you tell me now?" you asked.
"Tell you what?" he played dumb.
"Why did you come to a closed café, crying to pet the cats, while the second universal flood is happening?"
He didn't expect you to be so direct about it. He hoped to divert the conversation long enough that the rain would die down, so he could go back home with some of his pride intact.
"I just had a fight with Lucifer" He sighed and looked down.
"About what?" As you spoke, you noticed Felicia, the black cat, slowly approaching Satan's side. He didn't seem to notice.
"Just stupid things," he said, anger taking hold of him again "He thinks he has a right to tell me what to do. I'm already old enough to make my own decisions."
Tears started to build up at the corners of his eyes.
Felicia made her attack, jumping directly into Satan's lap with a scream. Satan screamed alongside her. Surprise and fear immediately morphed into the most adorable face of adoration at the creature. She rubbed herself against his chest and he shyly started to pet her.
Feli was a very vocal cat, she was meowing and screaming between purrs with every show of affection. Satan looked so confused, having only ever seen quiet skittish cats on the street. But you could see he was definitely having the time of his life.
Finally, Felicia had enough love and laid down on Satan's lap for a nap. Her loud purrs still filled the room.
"She's adorable" his voice came out small and thin. He was trying not to move at all so she wouldn't leave.
"She certainly is," you smirked, enjoying the view of this angry, edgy teenager trying not to cry over a cat. "You could ask your brother to adopt her," you suggested.
Satan looked hopeful for a moment but then deflated.
"He won't let me have a cat," his voice turned sour again "he hates me".
You saw him choking down tears as he began to pet Felicia again.
"Why do you think that?" You ask. Maybe it was the usual teenage act of 'no one loves me'. But you knew too well that sometimes kids had their reasons to think that way, and you weren't about to invalidate his feelings.
He remained silent for a while. You waited patiently, the storm outside wasn't getting any calmer, so you had all the time in the world.
"Because he called me crazy," he finally said, his voice teary.
"Why d—" he cut you off before you could ask.
"I hit him but didn't want to hurt him. I always hit him before, but he never got hurt for real. He looked like he was going to kill me. It's just that sometimes I get really angry and I can't control it." he explained himself desperately, in one single breath. He didn't want you to think of him as some kind of delinquent kid or something.
"I get it, I get it, It's okay," you reassured him. He took a second to calm down. You waited until he looked better.
"And then what happened?" You asked, worried "Did he hurt you?"
He shook his head, focusing all of his attention on the cat.
"He told me to go to my room."
You nodded. "And you didn't."
"No..."
"Why did you come here specifically?"
He thought it for a few seconds, a serious expression on his face.
"You have cats."
You let out an earnest breathy laugh, caught off guard. He laughed a bit too.
"Let's make a deal," you proposed "If you give me your brother's number so I can ask him to pick you up, I'll let you in any time you want to play with the cats."
He looked at the table for a few minutes, deep in thought, before answering.
"Okay, but can you please give me an hour before calling him?"
"Fifteen minutes."
"Half an hour?"
"Fifteen minutes," you insisted.
He rolled his eyes.
"Okay…" he accepted begrudgingly.
You shook hands over your very serious verbal contract.
He chose to spend his fifteen minutes laying around in the playing area with Felicia. You heard him sneeze a few times, so you fetched a blanket for him. When you went back down you found he had fallen asleep on one of the puffs. You covered him and went to the front of the store to call Lucifer.
He answered after the second tone.
"Who is it?" his voice was breathy and tired. You could hear the storm strong and clear in the background.
"Hi, Lucifer?" you confirmed it was actually him and Satan hadn't given you a stranger's number. He made a grunt as affirmation. "This is Mc, the café owner."
"Yes, I remember," he says, his breath shaky as if he had been running.
"I'm calling to let you know Satan is in my shop, could you pi–" he interrupted you before you could finish.
"Oh thank god! I'll be there in a second."
He hung up the phone.
When Lucifer arrived the storm was finally dying down, yet he was completely soaked and panting. You would have laughed at how ridiculous he looked, if not for the complete desperation in his eyes.
"Where is he?" He asked as he entered.
"He's okay, he fell asleep playing with the cats," you said, guiding him to where Satan rested. He let out a relieved sigh.
"I'm really sorry, Mc. I really don't know what got into him."
You smiled as reassuringly as you could. "He just wanted to play with the cats, it's okay."
Satan was out cold, exhaustion had taken over after the adrenaline wore off. Lucifer picked him up with no problem. The rain had completely stopped, but you still lent them an umbrella.
"Thank you, Mc. I'll make sure this doesn't happen again," he said, standing on the way. Shame filled his voice.
"It's okay," you assured him.
"Thanks again, Mc," he said before leaving.
You closed the door behind you, left alone with only the cats and a floor full of puddles you had no energy to clean.
"Well," you said to Felicia, who sat on the table in front of you. "Seems we made some friends."

ok after reading what you wrote about korin this Idea popped into my head while out and about korin finds a younger lightbearer mage who gets attached to him and when they meet damien they just click and start bouncing ideas off each other and making crazy inventions
all platonic of course
think of it like this a mage/artificer the chaos potential is limitless
Korin, Lightbearer! Mage! Platonic!reader, and Damien!
You know, at some point Korin had imagined what it would be like to have kids.
Not even necessarily a spouse, just, taking care of kids, being an instructor maybe.
It didn’t seem likely, Korin was awkward and tended to talk to children the same way one would talk to an adult.
Then he met you, a bright young mage who was fascinated with alternative ways of using magic, and was absolutely enchanted with how his arms worked. Innocently, he thought it would be nice to invite you to meet Damien.
That was the start of the end.
You and Damien got along like a quickvine in a compost heap, which is to say, excellently, uncontrollably and things spiralled out of control very quickly.
You become Damien’s best friend. You start learning more about Wilder magic and Damien’s unique ideas of biological technology, while Damien learnt academic magic, the ideas of a thesis, and the fundamentals of how magic worked. (“So that’s why my juice machine exploded! I thought it was the pressure of all the fruit!”)
As wholesome as it sounds, it also led to a massive increase in strange inventions. At least they explode less, but have you seen a giant self-driving wheelbarrow hurtling down a hill and almost crashing into the Lucent tree?
The herbalist Dylan begged Korin to fix the mess he created, and so Korin ended up being a supervisor for the two of you. Sometimes he gets to be the test subject, his spear allows him to push buttons at a safe distance.
He also becomes a mediator when the two of you argue. He can’t understand what exactly the two of you were arguing about, but he can appeal to your emotional sides and push for better communication. It works, surprisingly well, and soon the two of you are off making chaos again.
Damien’s “promise” of getting Korin new arms rapidly gets fulfilled. He starts putting them in a small chest, he’s not sure what he would do with a set of “windmill arms” but maybe they will come in handy at some point.
At some point I imagine you could bring some of your fellow students to Damien. It was a weird sight for the dusk patrollers to see Damien giving a lecture to a group of fervently listening people at least twice his age, all of them scribbling notes.
Damien is having the time of his life! He goes over to Korin to thank him, sincerely, even giving him a hug. Korin froze and patted the kid’s head awkwardly. He felt…oddly warm, inside.

As it is our bi-king’s birthday (June 15th), I thought we could use some Colin-centered love 💙💜🩷
————-
Today, Colin James Wilkes is 17 years old. One more year before he ages out of the orphanage. Almost five years since he joined Omega squad. Almost 2 years since he started dating Milagro, who’s spent all day spoiling him.
Going to their favorite thrift stores, hitting the taco truck from their first date, and so much talking. He could listen to her talk for hours if he’s honest. She had been checking her phone every so often, before suddenly declaring they should head back to the tower. Now, their bags in one hand and her grip on the other, he can’t help but laugh as she pulls him to the living area.
"Diosa, slow down! We're not in any kind of rush."
"Aye, I know, mi rey, but I'm tired after being out all day." Her words are right but everything else is wrong. He slows down until she's forced to stop. "I’m just ready to set our stuff down and get some food.”
"Uh-huh...I don't suppose you're trying to get me back for a certain surprise party?" Colin asks, fighting a laugh as her head whips around. "I might not be a Bat, but I can put two and two together….plus I saw the party supplies last night."
Milagro huffs, "Promise to act surprised?"
"...Is Ma in there?"
"Yes."
He covers his heart, nodding solemly, "It will be Oscar worthy."
When they walk into the living area, Colin does act surprised when people jump out. Just Omega and their families, but still a sizeable crowd. The Supers give Colin a look, but don't say anything. The first person over to him is Martha Kent. He has to bend over to hug her properly, but she’s still as strong as ever. The kind of hug that makes him feel like that scrawny 12 year old again, warm and safe.
"Happy birthday, sweetheart. Now, I insisted on making your cake." Ma gestures to the creation on the counter. His throat tightens as he reconginzes the colors of the three layers. "I did check with Jonny to make sure I had the right flag.”
"You didn't have--"
"Colin, baby, you know I do what I damn well please.” She pats his cheek, not leaving any room for him to argue. At this point, he’s learned arguing with most of the women in his life if the dumb choice.
All his favorite food are spread out on the counter—Ma’s chili, Bianca’s barbacoa and tamales, Dick’s gushvada, the twins’ Tteokbokki, and so much more. The best playlist, clearly made by Lian and Roy with care, plays just under the roar of conversation. It takes him a minute to realize how many are talking about….him. Their favorite memories of him, funny moments they’ve had in the last few years.
Then there’s the affectionate touches from the adults. Roy and Jason ruffling his long red hair. Alberto clapping a hand on his shoulder as they laugh together. Ma patting his cheek again as she makes sure he’s eaten enough. Linda, Lois, and Bianca each hugging him so tight he can’t breathe. Dick and Wally both poking his side, the sure fire way to make him laugh. Clark fixing his shirt collar as he walks by.
All things he would have flinched at years ago.
Soon, bellies full and spirits high, the conversation starts to lull. Naturally his friends decide to cause chaos.
"Speech!" Jai shouts, golden eyes twinkling with mischief. Nudging Jon and Damian, Jai grins at his best friend, “Let’s hear it for the Bi-King!”
"Yeah! C'mon, birthday boy! Let’s get a speech."
"Speech, Wilkes! You’re always running your mouth anyway! Put it to use this time!”
He’s going to kill them. Slowly. And laugh while he does it.
Knowing there’s no way out, Colin looks at the crowded room. All these people are here for him. Celebrating him, just for being born. Not like at the orphanage where he’d get a cupcake with the other kids born in June. This is all for him.
His throat tightens uncomfortably. Taking a second to clear it, he finally addresses them. “Um….I have no idea what to say or-or where to begin…I’m not the only orphan in this room. Not the only one who doesn’t know where they come from. Not the only one who grew up in shitty homes, with adults who use their fists before their words. Being told over and over God has this plan for me. That I needed to keep my faith and all would be well. He would protect me.”
He looks down at his hands, the rings Milagro and Mar’i found for him gleaming with his reflection, “I worked so hard to keep my faith. Even when Scarecrow and Bane had me. Even when I wanted to die because…at least the pain would stop. For a long time I couldn’t understand why God… let it happen. Gave me these abilities that took away any hope of a family finally adopting me. Finding my forever home.”
Looking up, he immediately finds his teammates, “In a weird way, I should thank Him. I still think He expects way too fucking much out of children, but because of Him I’m on this team. Because I have three brothers, who I’m fully going to murder in the next ten minutes. I have three sisters, who make me laugh and scream and cry. Who know what I like and hate. Who know when I’m just being quiet and when I’m struggling. Who annoy the shit out of me….because they love me.”
He reaches to the side, knowing he doesn’t need to look, but he does. Milagro’s warm hand slides into his, dark eyes meeting his own, brilliant smile making his heart skip. “I got to meet the most incredible girl in the universe. One who challenges me every day. Who understands and shares my struggles with the Almighty. Who is incredibly out of my league and could have anyone she wanted….and she chooses me.”
His eyes flick to his friends’ parents, voice threatening to crack, “I finally have adults in my life who chose to love me. Not because of a job obligation or money. I might never know my biological parents, but I know what it feels like to be loved. To have someone take care of me during a flare up. To be taught how to shave and drive and-and how to be a good man.”
A few tears finally escape his eyes, voice breaking, “Thank you for being my family. Thank you for choosing to love me. Thank you for teaching me I deserve that love.”
Milagro’s arms are first around him. Then their teammates—his brothers and sisters—join in, making them lose balance and tumble to the ground. All of them calling him an asshole and a sap, tears in their eyes. There’s laughing. So much laughing. Not at him, but with him.
Always with him.

Tell me more about your Acachalla parents hc pls?
My Acachalla Parents Headcanon Masterlist
I don't think you wanted me to answer like this, but I was excited to use this as a jumping-off point. I hope that's okay! This is a couple days late but I had so much to say ^^; there’s a chance I’m still missing stuff, and I mostly focus on their relationship!
When it comes to two quasi-immortals getting together in middle age and having to raise a bunch of children after collecting enemies like it was a hobby for most of their life… no one can beat the Acachalla Parents. Papa Acachalla with his murderous ex-gangs and ex-spouses, and Gertrude with her frequently changing identity as she hides from literal space cops. Between the two of them, it’s surprising that either of them wound up assumed to be the “wholesome” parent, since I’m not sure that’s actually possible for either of them. The best part about the energy they bring to this relationship is that they Both bring it together.
While I don’t know if they’re in love in canon, to me there is nothing that means more to me than these two entities of murder and chaos swooning over each other. There is no i can fix her, there is no i can make him worse, they like the other for who they are now. Warts and all… So how did we get here?
General Headcanons
Controversial of me to myself, but I’m not reviewing old videos for this and I’m barely looking at the wiki. When I say all of this is in my head, I mean that literally.
Billion Year War - Gertrude is one of many characters who does not appear during the BYW arc, even though Papa appears frequently. Since Papa was kind of the cause of the war, it’s possible that he finally managed to do something bad enough that she couldn’t excuse it anymore.
Crimes - Papa is known more for his criminal behavior, but Gertrude has been a menace. Being together didn’t mellow them out, it’s only made them worse. I say that with love.
Date Night - Part of the reason why the kids have so many unsupervised adventures is because the adults drop them off somewhere random and tell them to have fun so that they can have some peaceful hours to themselves. This often involves getting them distracted before leaving as quickly as possible since the faster kids can and will chase the car home if they weren’t up for the day trip.
Paranormal Visitors - Not every ghost at the Acachalla house is a stranger, and most of them are from the pasts of the parents. When the hauntings first started, they usually pretended like they had no idea as to what ghosts they had a history with would want with them. After multiple years of this and some establishment of trust, they concluded that their connection doesn’t matter, what does matter is keeping their family safe first and foremost. They still don’t bring the topic up, but they’ll actually argue with ghosts now for being petty. It also makes it easier to work with PIE.
Raising Monsters - I’m sure only one of them would even jokingly refer to the Acachalla children as monsters, and only two technically qualify, but still. There is no way that they’ve gotten their act together yet— boy have they tried, but that just means they’ve failed. They’re not doing a bad job raising the kids overall, but they’re frequently overwhelmed and confused and there’s no guide for how to take care of your daughter who can turn into a demon or you son who claims to be a god. I think the chaos makes their organized moments all the more rewarding to Gertrude and Papa.
Relationship History HC
Crossing Paths in Cowboy Times
Gertrude is actually older than Papa by a lot, being a Gingarian alien. She arrived on the planet running from space police for crimes against her world that her family committed. She stayed flighty, moving from place to place on Earth to avoid being caught, and eventually finding herself in the middle of New Mexico during what would be come to be known as the “Wild West”
She intentionally chose a town that outlawed guns, knowing that she’d be able to crowbar anybody who aimed to do her harm and chose to work at a bank.
Papa Acachalla was running the Acachalla Gang while the real leader, his older brother, was dealing with a magical ailment no one understood. This was soon after he left his boyfriend to die when a heist went wrong, and he was having a really hard time keeping his head in the game. He probably would have lied about being sick if he wasn’t the only option.
Unsure who to bring with him with the list heavily exhausted, he decided to bring his younger cousin, Maxwell, allegedly to “get the kid some experience”. Real answer: he was out of options and desperate for an extra pair of hands. Maxwell trusted him, though.
Papa let Maxwell take the lead, borderline dissociating in the meantime while he wallowed in his own shame.
Gertrude, recognizing the Acachallas to be something that wasn’t human, mistook them for being apart of the police force she was running from. Taking advantage of the smaller one’s nativity, Getrude allowed him to come toward the money before bludgeoning his head in and threatening his partner.
Papa snapped back to reality in time to see what was about to happen, but wasn’t able to bring himself to warn Maxwell. He didn’t have the strength, physical or mental, to go up against this woman to get the kid’s body, either. Sputtering excuses, he turned and left when she told him to.
A diffferent group met the Sheriff at the town border a day later to pick up the body and take him home, though the woman who killed him was kicked out of town before they could ask for vengeance.
Though the local sheriff was happy to see the Acachallas leave them alone, Gertrude still got heavily chewed out for killing a child, especially in such a brutal manner. Not understanding where she went wrong, she sounded like a monster when pried for her thought process, making the Sheriff inclined to kick her out of the town. She was ready to go on the road again, anyways.
The Union of Acachallans in New Mexico started disappearing soon after this incident, the tragedy proving to be the last straw most of the inhabitants could take. Papa was left feeling solely responsible for the disintegration of both his metaphorical and literal family.
It wasn’t until years later that Gertrude came to understand how vulnerable humans are when they’re young, and this incident would start to haunt her as she realized she severely overreacted and someone died for it.
The first time the two met, they accidentally screwed over the other’s sense of normalcy and changed their life direction seemingly for the worst, all over a heist gone wrong… and they never even got the other person’s name.
First Connection
After almost two hundred years worth of downward spiraling between the both of them, Gertrude and Papa Acachalla truly met each other for the first time, entirely across the country from their initial interaction.
Papa didn’t jump around too much, it’s more like the world was moving too quickly around him. He entered and exited romances, he started working at a 7-11 when it first opened and found himself the manager and borderline owner just by being there, and he only got the house because he initially moved in with roommates who all left him. He had family in the area, but he never took the time to actually see them. He was drifting.
Gertrude on the other hand was rapidly oscillating from place to place, moving too quickly to really settle down anywhere. She would walk in, burn bridges, walk out. If her reputation in a cluster of towns got too high, she’d take a train to the next state and start over from scratch. Wasn’t just jobs and relationships, but her sense of self as well, Gertrude caught onto any new trend that passed her by, but got bored of it quickly. Part of her was only doing it to hide from the aforementioned space police, the other part of her was desperate for a sense of belonging.
So that’s how an overworked yet overpayed Papa Acachalla encountered an emo phase Gertrude in his 7-11.
I’m not entirely sure what happened next, but two things need to happen before Gertrude moves in with Papa. First and obviously, the two need to connect, actually communication with each other. The second is that Gertrude needs to encounter the space cop who’s been looking for her.
The way I’d suggest this is that Gertrude ends up trying to live inside the 7-11 without Papa noticing, he absolutely catches on like the second day but doesn’t say anything because he doesn’t care enough to bother.
The two eventually begin to chat from across the building, relating to each other a lot partially because of how secretive they both were being about their past. After a couple weeks, she basically became his unpaid front-desk buddy.
They’d sit in silence for most of the day, only really talking over meals. Sometimes Papa would order takeout if Gertrude mentioned being sick of noodle cups. They were beginning to get along.
After awhile of this becoming the new normal, the aforementioned Gingarian Space Cop (he’s an actual character, he’s named Agent Knock), comes in looking for someone of a different name, but it’s real obvious that Gertrude has been hiding since he came in.
Papa decides he’s siding with her over whatever galactic federation is in charge even if she WAS wrong and flaunts his metaphorical power as an Acachallan to get the Agent to leave.
Before feeling safe enough to be relieved as Agent Knock leaves, Gertrude realizes that Papa would technically be able to harbor her as a criminal. First thing she does when it’s all over is turn to Papa and ask if he had room for someone else in his house.
Again, overpaid, Papa doesn’t need a roommate financially. He does, however, live in a massive house that gets lonely, and he’s aware that Gertrude might just up and leave if the Agent comes back, so after a bit of waffling to tell himself that he’s not going soft, she’s just twisting his arm on the matter, he agrees to let her stay with him so long as she keeps her head down.
It’s not important for the list but Gertrude Does eventually kill Agent Knock good for her.
Adjusting to Domesticity
Two explicit criminals who previously incidentally ruined each other’s life— now living together under one roof, might fall in love.
Might have already fallen in love, but who’s keeping track.
Sadly for fanfiction tropes, there was very much not one bed in the house, so they wound up sleeping on different floors entirely in the beginning.
Gertrude hasn’t had a steady place to live in a long time. She keeps her belongings in one place so she can grab it all and leave at a moment’s notice if her good fortune suddenly sours. It isn’t that she distrusts Papa or what seems to be his kindness, but… it wouldn’t be the first time something didn’t work out for her.
The last time someone else lived in the house with him, Papa Acachalla was counting the days until they left and he’d have the freedom to do whatever he wanted with his own space. Now that they’re gone, nothing’s changed. Without having someone to interact with, the days began to blur together and nothing felt like it was worth doing.
Even just living together is enough to make life a little bit easier for both of them. Gertrude doesn’t realize it, but she’s stopping Papa from slipping into another stupor, and Papa is fully aware that his family reputation is keeping her safe.
It doesn’t take long for both of them to adjust to each other’s company, and when the children get added to the family dynamic as well, they grow closer as partners-in-crime (that crime is caretaking) as well.
As emotionally immature as they both can be, it isn’t the first time either of them had caught feelings like this. They’ve been burned before. With any luck, it’ll turn out okay this time around.
Optional: There is a chance that Billy and Sally entered Papa's life before Gertrude. I never considered it before now, but it would be very interesting for Gertrude to come in not just to Papa, but his adopted children as well. Lecture him for letting them get away with not eating their veggies.
Parenthood Attempt
Despite both of them having experience, to say either of them knew what they were doing when taking on the challenge of raising several children would be a lie.
Papa feels like people depending on him has only led to hurting them in the past, so he has a tendency to push the kids away, pretending like Gertrude is the only one who wants them there. If the kids ever claimed that Papa didn’t care about them, though, he would cry.
Gertrude tries her best to come off as responsible, but that’s because she knows they’re all human-ish. No matter how strong they seem, they will always be fragile compared to her. They won’t be able to survive forever, and she doesn’t know what injury might be dangerous enough to be their last, thus her protective parenting style.
Papa accidentally got Billy involved in a lot of stuff he was too young for and tried passing it off as after-school activities.
In fact, most of Papa’s group bonding activities are crime based… because the only other time he ever had to parent someone, his main interest was the gang Papa was in.
Gertrude genuinely thought Spencer was just low-maintenance until he one day vented about how much he felt like crap and she realized he was actively not taking care of himself and realized no matter how much he pushed away, he DID need her to make an effort.
Neither Gertrude or Papa know how to talk on the PTA without sounding absolutely insane, and both are fully aware that the other parents are counting the days until their kids all graduate.
If you asked if Maddie counted as one of their kids, Gertrude would explain that she was just a close friend who could be seen as a daughter if you really wanted, but surely she had other parents and they couldn’t just adopt someone illegally. Papa would think about it before going ‘sure, she’s one of ours’.
Johnny Ghost is an honorary Acachalla kid and almost had a stroke when he found out.
It’s mostly because he’s an ill-tempered orphan who frequents the house and can keep up with the chaotic energy of the kids and adults, and both the parents HAVE had to… well, parent him in a tense situation before. They’ve grown attached, he’s theirs now.
Addendum: ghost is not an orphan, he has a dad. He is so confused as to why they think he is an orphan but doesn’t want to tell them in case they decide the answer is to MAKE him an orphan.
Rapid Fire HCs
Gertrude proposed, but the rings are Papa’s. She used a random object as a stand-in for a ring since she didn’t know Papa’s ring size, and this gave Papa Acachalla time to tell his mother and for her to pass along his parent’s wedding rings like an heirloom. It was very touching for both of them.
If they didn’t accidentally screw over each other’s lives, they wouldn’t have gotten together. They both needed a hit to their pride to get the world into perspective. Before, Papa was too egotistical, and Gertrude was a little bit out of control.
Gertrude has a larger criminal record than Papa, but she lets Papa take the lead for larceny and stuff. Papa actually knows how to steal— Gertrude’s crimes are predominantly war crimes, planetary eviction, and murder.
Papa and Gertrude both like doing grand gestures, but they love the unplanned soft moments more. The tender moments. Their lives have been too action-packed to not appreciate the change in pace.
Sometimes shaving your husband’s back in a dark bathroom is a tender moment, idk.
Both have a skill-based preference when it comes to chores. Not because either are good, but more because there is one task they’re terrible at. Papa is a bit too experimental in the kitchen, and Gertrude mixes the wrong cleaning supplies. They’re happy to take the other responsibility if it means everyone in the house doesn’t die.
They keep secrets from each other, on purpose and on accident. When there are so many skeletons in your closet, it’s hard to know which ones should be dug up and which ones can stay. They’ve learned not to be too judgmental when the past gets dredged up.
Papa and Gertrude both come from absolutely massive families that they’ve been basically exiled from due to bad behavior.
Gertrude is on the space equivalent of a “no-fly list”, so any time they want to travel with her, they either have to fake her passport and identity… or find their own, unofficial methods.
Papa Acachalla is haunted by Jose Jose Jose Jose, who I like to see as an incredibly bitter ex. You’d think this would be difficult for Gertrude, but I think it’d be funnier if she and the vengeful spirit wound up besties.
On the other hand, Maxwell fucking hates Gertrude. Even if Papa didn’t recognize her from the incident, Maxwell did. It caused a bit of a relationship hiccup, but they worked through it.
Both Gertrude and Papa were disowned by their family after an incident that killed most of the ones they were close with, only difference is that Gertrude’s family still refuses to talk to her and Papa’s reconnected with his mother.
Papa has to do the taxes because last time he asked Gertrude to do it she told him she had a brilliant idea and explained tax fraud to him. He does not want to fight the IRS again, so he let her down gently.
An Alternate Understanding of their relationship is one that is more… “Should have been divorced a decade ago” but weirdly tongue-in-cheek and self-aware of the toxicity. I don’t like to do that one anymore because I prefer the conflicting tenderness of active criminals being caring and tender, but that read requires Papa to be genuine every time he says he doesn’t see the others as Family.
Songs and Why
- Tangled up by Caro Emerald (Remix)
“You’re quite the same | If love’s the game”
Yes, I was an animation meme kid growing up and this song has a soft spot in my heart now. I try to push it aside for these two, though. I want them to dance, and this song has a good beat!

Years ago there was a mass disappearance event. Children across the world vanished without a trace, millions of them. Only children who were alone with just a single adult vanished, all on the same day at the same time. The adult witnesses could not explain what happened and were marked with a single mysterious glowing golden circle on their head. Some claimed to not remember the event, others choked when they tried to explain, but one way or another they were unable to tell us what happened.
Many adults were accused of trafficking the kids, but it soon became clear that something on this scale just wasn't reasonable. However, people with the marks were still silently blamed by the masses and became social outcasts.
People said it was the rapture, or the end of the world, or aliens, or a government conspiracy. None were able to find the truth.
I had not been old enough at the time to remember it clearly. All I knew is that one of the people in my friend group was a redhead lady a bit older than me who had a golden mark on her forehead she didn't like to talk about who everyone else was super protective over.
I was the youngest in our group, most everyone was in their thirties and I was a new adult. Well, technically one of the others had a two year old son, but he didn't quite count as a friend yet.
Anyway, we were all hanging out for dinner, watching a movie, when the toddler started pointing at our friend, and when I looked she had another glowing circle, slightly smaller than and partially overlapping the first. I didn't know what to say. And when the boy's mom saw she dropped what she was holding and covered her mouth. Everyone started to argue and worry, I backed away from the noise to avoid being overwhelmed.
Something down the long dark hallways drew my eye. I did not get closer, but i did look more carefully, and there was some kind of large distorted figure stalking toward us.
I alerted everyone else and like a flip had switched, they all got together and headed for the exit, where another 7 foot tall armored bipedal creature was waiting. We all turned and ran to get out the window, and some point I ended up with a shotgun and another man with, like, a hunting rifle (i took the rear and the other gun the lead), (the man holding the toddler was being all macho about how real men should go last but like,,,, i literally had a gun so i shoved him through).
Outside was chaos. Alien creature were tearing into homes, people were being chase, luckily they weren't immune to bullets so we were barely managing to protect our own group. We made it to our car and sped away.
I'm pretty sure there was a time skip about here, because it skips straight to our car being in a long like of people evacuating out on the highway. We had lost all but four members of our group and the toddler, me and the other gunner were older now and in power armor, and the military was actively at war with the aliens.
The enemy was behind us so it was important to keep moving, but a train was about to block our way and there was no overpass. So our car veered off road and sped toward the tail of the train, us power armor guys behind on foot and shooting any aliens that got close.
We found the next rr crossing, and the car (more of a truck van really) stopped long enough for us to load up in the back. We sped across the tracks and thought we were home free, but we quickly found the alien creatures had already overtaken our destination. I did my best to shoot them away from the car, but they were getting harder and harder to kill. The only thing to do was to floor it, and while we did eventually break through the worst of it, all we found were empty grassy plains and dark skies.
And then my cat woke me up :D

so uh,,,,guess im actually gonna do this-
let's see how far this goes, shalt we?
Tumblr media
heres the first designs lol ill update them later
The Comic starts here
The Basics of the AU:
Since this is a separated!au, only mikey stayed with splinter here. The rest of the teetlez got lost sadly-
Leo- Leo ended up in the Hidden City somehow, but since he didn't really have any adults to go to, he pretty much raised himself on the streets.
He found a cloaking brooch once and made a human friend who I'm gonna call Mell for now. However, trusting her was a mistake as when he showed her that he was a turtle she kinda broke his cloaking brooch in front of the rest of the human kids and ~trauma~!(This also affects his relationship with April later on, and it takes him a lot longer to trust her than the others. Surprisingly this AU actually came about with the idea of Leo having a human friend lol.)
At 8, Hueso took pity on him and allowed him to start working, and at 10 he got himself a small apartment in a really sketchy part of town(Hueso did not know he was alone, only that he was homeless. The foster care system in the Hidden City needs work, so he didn't turn Leo in for that reason as well. He would've taken Leo in but Leo always escaped when he tried to offer.)
He met Usagi, his best friend(and crush but shhh) at 13 while working at Hueso's, and he starts to get over his trust issues yay!
The brothers find him when Leo's 14 at Hueso's!
Man that was longer than expected, aNYWAYS-
Donnie- He was raised by Big Mama in the Hotel lol. One of her workers found him in the sewers and Big Mama happened to be attached to that worker. Unfortunately he died so Big Mama took Donnie in but...she had no idea how to raise him so she pretty much neglected him til he was like 8. The tipping point was because Donnie got kidnapped so uh giving the bois more trauma yay :)
He meets Raph and Mikey when he's 11 and sneaks out to the surface and they bump into each other. Chaos occurs lol
Mikey- Splinter managed to keep him! After Splints lost the other turtles though, he panicked and confronted Draxum in the belief that it was his fault and he stole them back. The two started arguing really loud and Mikey started crying, so Splinter stopped yelling and tried to shush him. Drax is soft inside really so he and Splints become amicable as Mikey grows up. Splints teaches Mikey ninjocity, while Drax helps him keep his ninpo in check. Drax and Splints eventually get unofficially married lol.
Raph- Raph survived on the human streets until he was like 4 somehow, and then found the lair around 4 and a half I'd say? He becomes Mikey's imaginary friend for like a week until Draxum finds out. Him and Mikey are raised together after that :) He's super protective of Mikey once he learns about the twins being missing and even before.
April- Donnie met her while sneaking up to the surface at like 7 years old(he was a dumb little kid who thought he was invincible ok don't blame him lol). Big Mama was wary of her at first but soon adored her and trusted her(more than Donnie but don't let him know that)
im going to try and make a comic but since i'm very much a beginner artist with no formal training, please don't expect much lol :) love yall! <3

Nsh cause I seen princess say a 20 year old is in this drama too and I came to check your account and low and behold you really got a mf who is a GROWN ASS adult engaging in a Internet fight and insulting/bullying a KID while also acting friendly to other kids?? Not only is that fucking weird it's immature as hell🤷🏽‍♀️
A grown ass adult stalking and arguing and bullying +gaslighting a child, I never thought I would see the day. I hope he or she or whatever that thing goes by gets they account deleted or people realize how weird that mf is cause WHAT
Okay the whole thing is over and this is the last thing imma address.
But yes literally a whole ass adult , you could be someone’s mother! Coming at me on behalf of her minor “friends.” They warned us about people like you miss girl , people that can’t fit into their own social group so they hang out with kids and that’s what it’s giving 🤣🤣🤣LOSER‼️doing full character break downs on a child she doesn’t know AT ALL! Running her mouth and got cleared!
I’m not fans of them other girls but even I was hoping they didn’t answer her because it was so clear she was being an agent of chaos between us.
She also said I was childish for screen-shotting but literally moments later screen-shotted my post about her 💀💀

I used to love Thanksgiving as a kid and as an adult I'm starting to really hate it. The morning was already difficult because my gf and I have to split our time between our families. She was excited to see her family and wanted to get going but when we got up we realized that my mom had changed the time that my family's dinner was planned for, and now both dinners are happening at the same time. It was frustrating but we were going to figure it out. Then we get to my girlfriends family and it's pie unbridled chaos. Everyone was yelling, screaming, it was awful and overwhelming. We asked if we could help and got assigned to cleaning so we were doing floors and picking up while the kids played, and one of the adults (a jackass that no one likes) won't stop screaming at the kids because he's annoyed. Then more family showed up and they were also in bad moods, and just started snapping at everyone and making fucked up comments. Arguing with the people who live in the house about where things are and being utterly wrong. Then, the worst part of it all, our 13 year old sister/SIL wanted to show everyone a dance that she had been working on in school, they were learning to Samba and she got hurt on the day of the performance. She's taken a month to recover from her injury and she was really excited to show everyone. I went outside to ask if the adults could come in to see her dance and a few of them scoffed and said no, some of them were like uhhh can you at least wait until we're done eating (they all had empty plates in front of them or I wouldn't have even asked..) and then someone goes "wait, the dance that she hurt herself doing? That's what she wants to show us?" And they all just started cracking up. Meanwhile the door is wide open and she heard every word.
We ended up leaving and taking her with us (with her mom's permission) the worst part was, one of them came inside and started trying to minimize the situation. He sat there saying "goodness, they just wanted to finish eating first, I don't see the big deal. No one made fun of her. They said wait until we're done eating, that's all" and I interrupted and said "I think she's more upset about the comment that she hurt herself and everyone laughing over it." Then we took her and left.
What pieces of shit. I'm 25 but I remember being 13 and feeling like I only existed for people in my family to have something to laugh about because they all fucking hated each other and I was the comedic relief so they didn't have to acknowledge their own bad feelings. I felt like a joke, like I was worthless to my own family and the only things they cared about were my mistakes. I can't stress enough how heartbroken this kid was over not getting to perform with her peers. She was more excited for this dance than I've seen her get over anything in the last year. And here are all these adults mocking her for having gotten hurt and missing her moment on stage with all of her friends. How fucking heartless. I'm still pissed about it and it's been a few hours now. I just can't believe anyone thinks that was okay.

I don’t get how some ppl don’t see Portia’s behaviors as problematic. So parents of ADULT children who don’t like their ADULT child’s partner have every right to run interference bcuz they have concerns or don’t like that partner? Are we serious rn? Portia can have all the concerns she wants, no matter how extreme they are, but YES the line has to be drawn on her thinking she can actively do something to change it. That’s the problem. How are ppl defending this? How are her biased, closed minded views of Spencer not a problem? She’s trying to maintain control over her daughter. This is more about Portia then Trina. That’s what’s naturally supposed to happen when kids get older, become adults. Parents have to let go. They have to adjust to losing that control they once had over their children’s lives once they become adults, trust that the foundation they provided will guide them, be there for support/advice when asked and allow them to make their own choices, for better or for worse. This is so unhealthy. Trina is a grown woman who’s in love, not 12 experiencing her first crush. I’m just stunned that some don’t see a problem with this. I bet these same ppl would have a problem if their parents tried to do that shit to them as an adult
I feel like the vast majority definitely see Portia as a problematic and the narrative is definitely portraying her thought process as problematic. I have seen some of the cultural conversations about the "meddling black mom" which I get but I think Portia's situation is a lot deeper than that. Stella is more the type to fit that sort of cultural archetype of the meddling matriarch.
I think people who are sympathetic to Portia are coming from the perspective of Spencer being a hot mess. Spencer, on paper, is pretty much every parent's worst nightmare lol. But like you said, there comes a time when you have to "let go" and the issue with Portia is that she thinks that day is never.
I really loved what someone here said about Portia coming to define herself as Trina's mother and not really knowing who she was outside of that. I do think there's a part of Portia that's afraid to be alone with herself. Even when she lost Curtis and Taggert romantically, she could pour everything into being a working mother. Trina was the thing in her life that she could control and count on while everything else was chaotic. I think Trina growing up and figuring out who she is, away from Portia, scares her because then it forces Portia to figure out who she is beyond being Trina's mother. Taggert called her out on basically using Trina as a crutch to avoid the the problems in her own life that she doesn't want to deal with.
Portia is sort of obsessed with "controlling the narrative" and the narrative of her daughter is probably the one who she values the most. Trina was on a clear track pre-Spencer and while I'd still argue that she's on that track, Portia is always gonna view Spencer as chaos and derailment for her daughter's future success, a perpetual threat.
