due to certain things coming to my attention I should clarify: what I mean by "crying ableism over Nessa's death" is people forgetting Wicked is based on Wizard of Oz and therefore Nessa (re: the Wicked Witch of the West's sister) is inherently doomed by the narrative (to have a house fall on her) and thus her death was not a decision "to kill off the canonically disabled character" made for the movie

What I don't mean is to diminish the voices of fans who take issue with the way the Wicked Witch of the East scene is handled in the show. Whilst I don't personally see it as harmful, I am not a part of the disabled community; so it's not really my place to say whether it's right or wrong. Depending on how they handle Nessa walking (I don't know whether or not Marissa is ambulatory) genuine discussions of disability representation and ableism might be brought to light; but that isn't a speculation I wanted to include in what is meant to be a light-hearted meme. That is a conversation that should be taken seriously if it does come up in regards to part two, and is not what I intended that bingo square to refer to.

All that being said, was it a questionable choice for Greg to make Nessa disabled when he wrote the book? Well... that's a convo for a different day.

The lego movie (original one) should be a mandatory watch for everyone, here are my reasons:

It's an insanely well-made movie from all standpoints, even for it being a kids movie. The technical and animation skills needed for the lego movie means that most everyone on the team was great, especially the voice actors!

It's writing and art direction are absolutely amazing, mixing both comedy and commentary on serious topics in a clean and subtle way. Plus, with the recognizable characters and designs, it conveys it's message very well!

Benny. The spaceship guy. Need I say more. (but seriously it's a wonderful way to put autistic rep in, even if it's one note)

The characters are suuuuuper well written for a kids movie, each with their own quirks and gags and generally it's just good from a writing standpoint

Incredible worldbuilding!!!! Plus the worldbuilding adds another layer to the commentarry: each place is separated by arbitrary things similarly to how a certain country in the world is, and it's all ruled over by one business. it's great.

Lord business is a great example as to why it would not be a good idea to put a businessman, who's goal is to gain more and more wealth and eternally expand their business until it can't expand anymore, even at the cost of others' well-being, in a presidential office!
