“That’s nice, baby.”

With as close as you were to Kiyoomi, it was almost like you had burrowed into his skin. Knees tucked as close to yourself as you could, you’re nestled against him on the couch, one long arm around your shoulders as the other keeps a book propped on his knee. Your fingers are curled in the collar of his tank, and every now and again, you jostle yourself slightly as if you slipped.

Curled in the small chair of your shared hotel room, it’s so warm in his arms to contrast against the cold air from the window. If, and when, his glasses slip down his nose, you’re quick to nudge it up with your knuckle before going back to your memorizing of every pore on his face, all the while he reads in the mostly predominant silence of your room. You sniff at his collarbone, plant kisses to his jaw, and when you’re feeling playful, you bite at his ear to make him snicker and shrink slightly- he gives you a warning look for distracting him, but makes no other intention of moving you.

You weren’t subtle. He didn’t need you to be. Affection was something Kiyoomi needs just as much as you do, even if 9 times out of 10, he’s the supplier to your addiction.

“You’re just so handsome,” you mewl. “I hate you for it.”

He snorts softly, “yeah, I get that a lot.” Once he finishes the current chapter he’s on, he turns his head to plant a gentle kiss to your nose, prompting it with a nudge, “you getting bored? Or are you still content?”

“I’m very content,” you say simply, and he nods as he thumbs to the next page. “As long as you’re okay?”

“Yeah baby, I’m good-“

With no other warning, the door to your hotel room swings open, revealing a blonde with ugly roots and a ginger who’s pleading said blonde to leave you both alone.

You jump up in surprise, clinging (somehow) closer to Kiyoomi, who furrows his brows.

“I told you they were busy!” Hinata whines, while Atsumu rolls his eyes.

“This is why you haven’t answered my texts?” He asks incredulously. His attention turns to you with faux disappointment, “you’re supposed to help me get him out to do things.”

“We… we’re tired,” you mumble, and Kiyoomi lets his large hand gently cradle whatever part of your body was closest to his palm. “We didn’t want to come out.”

At the affection, atsumu offers you both a fake gag, “cant you two get a room?”

“We did, you came into it,” he snarls, while you hide your face against him. You’re embarrassed, you’re sure Kiyoomi is too, your affections usually are contained and hidden behind closed doors, the extent definitely being more than you’re typically comfortable displaying. “Hinata. Ugly. Scram.”

“Hey!”

“We’re sorry Sakusa-San!” Hinata apologizes, grabbing Atsumu’s collar to try and tug him away.

Atsumu, now being choked and pouting, gives you both a pleading look, “team dinner won’t be the same without ya!”

“Do not argue with us,” Kiyoomi snips. “Already told you we were tired. Beat it.”

“Will you at least consider coming?”

You hear the heave in Kiyoomi’s chest as the last bit of patience slips, “you want us to come before or after I slice open my skin for them to burrow into?”

Silence falls on the room, and you try to hide your laughter in the warm collar of Kiyoomi’s hoodie, and you can’t hold it in when Atsumu’s confused (and borderline concerned) “WHAT?” shakes the room of the hotel.

“They want to live in my skin. So I’m gonna slice my side open and let them climb in. If you don’t want to leave, you’re more than welcome to watch.”

“Or you can watch us suck face,” you chime, and Kiyoomi offers you a laugh while Atsumu gags in truth this time.

“You’re both feral,” he whines, finally letting Hinata drag him out of the room and away from you both. The shorter, more respectful teammate, offers you both a quick “have a good night!” before kicking the door shut behind him, silence once again filling the room.

Kiyoomi sighs peacefully, dog-earring his book before turning towards you, “you okay?”

“Yeah,” you say quietly. “Just… kind of embarrassed.”

“That creature has been single since birth, there is nothing for you to be embarrassed about.” He shifts slightly to be closer to you, the arm not cradling you moving up to your cheek to gently stroke over it. "And who cares if they saw it? Hinata would never judge us, and no one likes Atsumu."

"You're so mean," you snort, turning your head to kiss his palm. Then, you blink up, expectantly, at him. "Well?"

"Well what?"

"Go on- start slicing open."

Kiyoomi lets out a string of full laughter, head tossed back while he squeezes you tighter. Then, he leans down to nudge his nose with yours.

"How about I do that after we suck face?"

This time, you're the one cackling, happy to be cut off by his lips settling on yours, swallowing your laughter with all the love he can provide.

The traumatized Atsumu was merely a catalyst, and a plus, for all of this trouble.

Just watched final episodes of Buffy and my spuffy heart is insanely happy about Spike's speech in touched and how Buffy finally seems to understand just how much she means to him.

And you right, the Bangel kiss was so forced and Buffy basically told him to get out of her show 'cause she had a new man lmaoooo

Spuffy in "Touched" is on a whole other level of greatness. Everything about Spike's speech to Buffy is perfect.

For starters, Spike told off everyone for being absolute dicks to Buffy and daring to kick her out of her own home and wander through a completely apocalyptic Sunnydale by herself. Not wanting to go along with her plan was one thing, but stabbing her in the back like that was horrible - and Spike calling them a bunch of sad traitors was PERFECT (plus, him giving Giles a piece of his mind after the plot to kill him was so satisfying).

Spike is just so sweet to Buffy during the entire conversation - with the ocasional "You're insufferable for not believing how awesome you are" and "Want me to kill Faith for you? 'Cause I would totally kill Faith for you."

(Compared to the time Angel told Buffy to get out of his show because he had a new slayer girlfriend, and it's just soooo clear who Buffy and Angel should be dating instead of each other XD)

The most important part of the speech is not even how it makes Buffy understand the depth of Spike's love for her, but how, like he said, he truly understands her like no one else did.

"I love what you are, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength, I've seen the absolute best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy"

Spike was Buffy's sworn enemy, reluctant ally, willing ally and supportive friend, toxic boyfriend, sweet boyfriend she mistreated, and now he is her champion, the one that will help her save the world - again. OF COURSE he knows her in a way nobody else did.

Him calling her "the one" - both as in "his one true love" and "the chosen one" - is also perfect, because Buffy's entire conflict is feeling she will never have a fullfiling life, with meaningful relationships, because, like the first slayer said "The slayer doesn't walk this world" and "death is your gift." She fears she's too much of a hero to be a person.

And then in comes Spike. The dude that regularly calls her just "Slayer." The guy she's treated worse than she ever treated anyone else (including herself, which is saying a lot) BECAUSE of her struggly to deal with being the Slayer AND in love with anyone, let alone a souless vampire.

And he just embraces both sides of her. The kind, vulnerable girl longing for connection. The ruthless, powerful hero that doesn't need anyone. He LOVES both sides of her.

But, more importantly, said love is at it's most selfless on that moment.

"I'm not asking you for anything. When I say I love you, it's not 'cause I want you, or 'cause I can't have you. It's got nothing to do with me"

It doesn't matter that Buffy isn't perfect, that she mistreated him in the past, that she feels she doesn't deserve him. Hell, it doesn't even matter if she can't reciprocate Spike's feelings (even though we know she does). He still loves her, and his love will always be hers regardless of anything and everything.

Spike is being incredibly honest and vulnerable in this scene - and it allows Buffy to finally accept not only his love for her, but to give him her heart too.

I've already said over and over that I don't think Seeing Red worked, but my God, it is such a big deal to have Buffy ask Spike to come to bed with her after it, especially since the episode deliberately compares it too all the other couples in the show having sex. It's the proof that she has not only forgiven him, but also managed to fully trust him to never hurt her again (remember her saying to Giles "You sent away the one person who's been watching my back" and her chosing him as her champion instead of Angel).

But THE thing that makes me insane about this moment, and that the Spuffy fandom surprisingly doesn't talk about nearly enough, is the implications of their conversation about their night of cuddles.

Everyone is always going on and on about how that was the best night of Spike's life, and how that would have been his moment of "perfect happiness" if he was under the same curse as Angel - yet I haven't seen nearly enough people going crazy over tha fact that Buffy then confirms to Spike that SHE FELT THE SAME WAY, IT MEANT JUST AS MUCH AS IT DID TO HIM.

Buffy went through hell that night, as being pushed away by all of her loved ones confirmed her worst fears - and it was still what led to her moment of "perfect happiness" just because Spike was there to support her through it all. She even goes as far as saying she only got the weapon that will help her defeat the bad guy because of the strength Spike gave her that night.

Also, the way she gently touches his face during that talk, AAAAAAHHHHHHH!

Anyways, they are soulmates and if you don't agree, you're wrong.

Mostly just "what if" yuichi headcanons and then I veer off into "well a guy can dream" territory

I'm thinking. Obviously I loooove running with the rain theme with yuichi. I'm thinking that when he uses his powers u hear the sound of thunder; more energy used means louder booms. Less means just some rumbles. Rain droplets/mist accompany the sakura petals when teleporting (not enough to soak, just enough to be like. Cool and energizing!!)

And if the above is true then I think new toudans at Nagame are basically born during a thunderstorm 🤔 LMAO in a different context that would be like...classic mad scientist vibes lol (like them animating their new creation, while thunder and lightning flash etc) 💀

I still am not sure how Exactly summonings work in a material sense (does a saniwa get like. The actual blade, like from the govt, just long enough to summon the sword? Or ..?)

But I think however it works, Yuichi performs the summoning alone and I think the...channeling he does is heavily emotional (?) more than simply spiritual, if that makes sense. Like... Maybe through this channeling he kind of... peels back layers to get to his core, where his power is purest and strongest, but also his emotions are most intense, and that's what he used to call forth a new touken danshi...?? It's not always a bad-emotions experience (he may be plagued with sadness and fear but he is more than that!) but still,,, He is probably then quite sensitive/raw after a summoning and might not be seen outside of his room for a day or two afterwards, unless it's necessary. Usually his kinji and/or one of his closer toudans are fine to check in on him but occasionally he'll request they just leave his food and go. Of course that's probably not the healthiest way to go about it but sometimes being near someone else is just too overwhelming.

I think this probably also instills a bit of guilt in him because that means he likely doesn't see any toudans he summons until they've already been there a day or two... :^( but he makes sure to greet them with food or something and try to spend some time with them once he's able. Thankfully, I think, he can do the summoning uhhhh remotely? this way the first thing a new sword sees is not A Mess and have to be like "uh...that's my new master? 😬"... Wouldn't instill a lot of confidence lol

Unrelated to that but I'm also thinking about if Taikyuu saw Harada Sanosuke while on a mission... Agh I think he'd have a hard time (unsurprisingly). Like he KNOWS he's not meant to be used as a main weapon, he's not an uchigatana anymore, and he KNOWS Harada favors spears anyway (he would love that spear to pieces if it ever manifested as a toudan), but I think part of him that's just so desperate to prove himself is so sad to see it in a way? Idk if that makes any sense LOL

Also LMAO on the chance they ran into each other taikyuu would 100% ask to see his scar. Then if he did show I see him saying something like "I did that... I could never have killed you..." etc and then probably weirding harada out LOL

Besides the Grand Inquisitor, which Inquisitor would you like to see a novel based on next?

On a serious note, I'm kind of okay getting the Grand Inquisitor's story through bits and pieces of other character's works. I'm happy with his characterization from ROTRB. It fleshes him out, but still leaves a lot of room for discussion and exploration. I like him being kind of an enigma we can endlessly speculate on. It's fun. Sometimes I think it's okay to not have every detail of a character laid out for us.

Like Cad Bane. We accept that he's cool and awesome and love when he shows up, but we don't need his whole story to appreciate him being around. In fact, I think the mystery even helps add to his cool, "devil-may-care" attitude. Your imagination is free to run wild.

Honestly, the Inquisitor I'd like to see explored next? Prosset Dibs/Tenth Brother. I think there's something interesting to explore there. He betrayed the Order before the end of the war and given the chance to rehabilitate. He wanted to be executed for treason, as the Council and the Order no longer represented his beliefs about the Force and the original principles of the Jedi.

But he was spared. And when Iskat mentions which Inquisitors seem to be "broken" and which seem to be intact, she mentions herself, Fifth, and the Grand Inquisitor as the ones who seemed to have joined without coersion.

I would love to explore his character as a "true believer" in the Jedi peacekeeping doctrine who had legitimate despair over the war. During rehabilitation, instead of falling further into the dark, I would love to see him make actual strides in deepening his connection to the Force and improve, only to have the tragedy of being chosen by Palpatine for his previous betrayal and being forceably converted back down the path to darkness.

I just think it would make for a compelling story, something different than what has made other Inquisitors. It's a natural choice to make this Jedi that betrayed the Order into a villain, but what if Jedi Rehabilitation DID work? What if his second fall was beyond his full control?

A song got me thinking about the latest chapter of Glass Divine so I'm here to talk about identity again

Now that I'm not as heated/have had some time to think I can definitely see how it wasn't necessarily a power play on Tommy's part. The action really, really reminds me of a power play because it was done in the same way that one would to pull a power play. If Tommy had different intentions, he could definitely use that name to have power over Wilbur. Obviously, he's not going to. I don't think Wilbur is even afraid of that, he knows that the worst Tommy is going to do with the name is just use it, but it's still interesting to me as the reader to think about what-ifs.

I'm thinking about what will happen as Tommy continues to use the name. I'm wondering if this will damage the trust between the two of them. I'm so primed by Stars to think about trust, and the feebleness of it all - I doubt that there's anything that can destroy the trust between Wilbur and Tommy, though. Because that trust was created illogically, it cannot be harmed by something that would logically disrupt trust. So if I was to predict anything, I would think that Wilbur would go along with it, while silently thinking to himself "That's not my name" or something along those lines.

Or maybe I'm wrong - Maybe Wilbur will push back. Maybe there was trust that was broken. Then I would have to adjust my model of how I understand Tommy and Wilbur's friendship to work

Then I started trying to think about Wilbur's identity. Then I fell into a rabbit hole where I went back and forth about how exactly I view the role of the pythia. I wrote all of those thoughts out but they're very philosophical and nonsensical and probably say too much about how I myself tend to project onto Wilbur as a character. So those are going to stay in the depths of my notes app

After writing that, I went back to listen to the same music that prompted me to rethink all of this in the first place. And I wanted to find something to sum up my feelings on identity and its role in this fic.

I think that Wilbur is clueless as to what an identity is.

To Wilbur, identity must be this fleeting concept, similar to love or god or any other idea that is hard for some people to wrap their minds around, and easy for others. He might believe that there is no objective truth out there. He might think that he has no identity, objectively. Being the pythia is concrete. Being Wilbur is not

I also think that Tommy knows much better than Wilbur what Wilbur's identity is. I think that the reason Tommy and Wilbur were able to grow together so quickly is because Tommy quickly saw a glimpse of Wilbur's true identity, and he needed to learn more.

This is my current working theory of how this dynamic operates, and it will most definitely evolve as the fic evolves

yeah the thing is is that in another story or with a different character that would've 100% been a power play. but it's tommy trying to help wilbur. when it comes to religious brainwashing as severe as what wilbur's gone through, you can't do things the gentle and easy way. you have to brute force your way through it and while it's not perfect it's what's gonna happen.

you'll have to wait for the next chapter to see how wilbur reacts though :) tommy and wilbur's budding friendship is very much defined by the notion of it not making sense, but happening anyway

wilbur doesn't have a great understanding of personal identity vs a role. he has no identity himself. he's been told he's not supposed to have an identity. his only identity is his purpose which is to be the pythia. so identity is a foreign concept to him because his was ripped away from him at such a young age. tommy is already seeing pieces of wilbur's identity fall through the cracks, and he's determined to dig it out no matter what. but it'll be an uphill battle for sure.

i don't want to say actually, but it was really bad. i don't even know how to describe it outside of being bad. uh. it was a Hiei x Reader fic where uh, he was too late to save Reader's life. It was so bad omg.

when have you felt the most confident in your writing? 

uhhh. it was not a fic. when i was in high school, i wrote a personal piece for a regional art and writing contest and i was really proud of it!! before we turned it in, my creative writing teacher pulled me aside and was like 'you know this piece is pretty good, and i know what you were trying to do with it, but there's a big chance that it might go over the judge's head.'

and it won a silver prize! but i wrote another piece for the contest that i thought was inferior and that one won a gold prize. ٩(ఠ益ఠ)۶

I love your writing and ask could you share some traits you see as 'core' Rowan and Aelin traits? Maybe more valuably, would you be open to sharing your process for what you look for in the text when understanding characters, what stands out to you and what you make sure to include vs what you don't? I understand if this isn't something you want to share and I send this ask with good intentions and respect and hope this can start a productive discussion, no drama. Thanks :))

i think part of it is that i have read everything up to EoS so many times. like at least four times each and i've read heir of fire and queen of shadows probably six times each. i've only read kingdom of ash once bc it's still too painful to read again lmaoooo.

when i write i also always look for any chance i can to make parallels. i love making canon parallels to anything from small moments to bigger ones that are more recognizable. like the rowaelin qos reunion, rowan's "where is my wife" moment. rowan and aelin sparring in any capacity, like, anything like that. because i think that helps when you're pulling from the text and putting them into situations where you know how they interact with them, and it makes it easier to add in bits and pieces before and after. if that makes any kind of sense. (this also goes for legit any ship that i write. nessian, feysand, etc. pulling from the text and putting them in familiar situations will always help.)

as far as traits go, one of my major ones that i always try to keep in mind is rowaelin's loyalty to each other. rowan is like loyal to aelin almost to a fault sometimes. he will do anything and everything for her. when it comes that's why their thing is "to whatever end." they will follow each other to whatever end and beyond.

aelin has a very low opinion of herself. she thinks that she's expendable compared to those around her. she is very depressed sometimes and i think it gets overlooked a lot. (when i get my books back from my sister, i plan on doing a meta about this.) but she's been through a lot in her life and i try to keep that in mind in a lot of au's. some au's that are heavier (like iihasts and fafs) i try to pull on that. her mental health is very important to a lot of the way she handles things. post KOA, i know this girl has PTSD. it's evident in the way she handles a lot and takes a long time to warm back up to rowan in kingdom of ash. but she was tortured and manipulated for months. she's not okay.

people (in the books) also call her selfish A LOT but most of what she does she does for other people. she even spared dorian the weight of killing his father and told him she did it. like, come on.

as celaena, she does lean on the more selfish side, but as aelin she's doing everything she does for the greater good of the entire world. she didn't forge that lock for herself. she forged that lock for a better tomorrow for everyone she loved. which is incredibly selfless. she would also completely throw down to keep her loved ones safe.

the arrogant behavior is such an act. she's not really like that, it's a cover to hide everything she's truly feeling inside, to protect herself, to keep people from truly getting to know her. she can flip her personality to better suit the situation and the people she's around. she's mostly only her true self around aedion, lysandra, and rowan. i don't even think she really reveals herself to the rest of the cadre for probably a very long time. she picks fights when she's hurting the most and rowan is really the first person to see and recognize that. (very evident in hof when she sees what a good person gallan appears to be and goes and picks a bar fight immediately. or when arobynn humiliates her and she wears her nicest jewels to try to intentionally get robbed so she can start a fight.)

the reality is that she's an insanely hard worker, she keeps going and going and going to meet to meet her goals. she's a master strategist and very quick on her feet in any situation she finds herself in. she feels isolated (which goes back to her depression and ptsd) and she feels misunderstood. but she has been known to literally give the cloak off her back (with kaltain) and the money in her pocket (with yrene) and doesn't expect anything in return. literally nothing in return. she just did it out of the goodness of her own heart, yet she's constantly filled with self doubt that she's a bad person because people tell her that she is (chaol literally calls her a monster and she holds onto that and ends up asking rowan if she is one.)

she gives a lot of forgiveness and second chances, except to abusers. she pulls no punches with them. yet even with arboynn, she made sure there were no redeeming qualities left before letting lysandra kill him. instead of seeing it as a victory, though, she just felt hollow. she doesn't take joy in killing these people. she is not a bad person.

she feels a lot of guilt when she feels she could have stopped things. i think she carries those moments with her. which is why she helped those people the king wanted dead to escape in com. she has no problem ending people that deserve the punishment, but when they don't, she does what she can to help them.

rowan is so respectful. he finally gets his mate and his wife and his love back and he's consistently giving her the space she requires when it's so hard for him to not just touch her. he puts his own needs aside consistently based on what aelin needs.

he's a complete and total hardass to other people but is so soft for her. but he's also territorial about her. he's protective of her. but never at the cost of what she needs and wants. however, he will put his foot down and make people swallow their own tongues if they're disrespectful toward her. but he's also respectful toward everyone, not just aelin. he can prove his points without physical violence even if he would want to.

in that same vein, if you're doing enemies to lovers, he doesn't understand her at first. he think's she's spoiled and doesn't have a single clue about the trauma she's been through and he's very hard on her. he treats her like another warrior in their training. he doesn't go easy on her just because she's a woman (which also still comes from a place of respect) but the second he finds out about her trauma the way he treats her shifts. he becomes protective because he doesn't put up with that kind of shit. he isn't torturing her in their training, in fact aelin in hof says that he's brilliant even if he beats the shit out of her every damn day. a lot of people try to twist that into a thing of abuse, but again, he's training her like a warrior. he doesn't coddle her and she doesn't want to be coddled. again, this comes from a place of respect.

he also learns from his mistakes and tries to right them, and takes action to better himself from it as soon as he can. this is important. he has the humility to apologize, whether it be by actions or words. he doesn't ask for credit in the things he does and ends up kind of making jokes about it. i think he has a lot of humility at the end of the day. he is quick to forgive others when it's deserved but has a lot of trouble forgiving himself. this is also important.

but rowan also has a playful side with aelin. they have witty banter that they exchange even when they're not totally on board with the other. he's funny in subtle ways, and toward the end of the series we see that he's so wholly comfortable with her that he even gets a little silly.

after his own trauma, he also falls into a very deep depression. for centuries. it took aelin coming along for him to come back out of his shell. everyone gave up on him, but aelin never did. just like he never gave up on her, and they were able to walk out of that darkness together. i also think he feels a lot of guilt when innocent lives get put in danger and risk or die at his hands when he felt he could have stop it, much like aelin.

A morally dubious choice Claude could have taken that more deeply delves into his underhanded and risky methods without outright breaking his character: *making it seem as though the Alliance is siding with the Empire only to use the "allegiance" to find the perfect chance to strike the Empire at its heart, providing supplies and routes to Edelgard while giving excuses as to why he can’t give troops - offering himself up as a troop in place of others as a “sign of trust” (The Empire thinks they have a hostage, Claude thinks he managed to successfully infiltrate the Empire and make them underestimate him.) The player goes a couple/few chapters without Claude there as a unit making Lorenz/Count Gloucester the de facto leader in Claude's absence. I lose my fuckin' marbles because I exclusively play as Claude in GW he's like 8 levels above everyone else lmaoooo.* *keep him siding with the Empire strictly to his route with the writing in mind and strip him doing that from SB*

His hands are dirty, but he’s keeping his people out of the war as much as possible while working under everyone’s nose to more quickly put an end to it. In subsequent diplomatic talks with the Kingdom and Church he can discover that much of what he thought about the Church was wrong (since lbr pretty much everything he levies against it is like. Not true lmao) and from there determine how he wants to deal with the Church and how the Alliance should be handled after he leaves.

Hell, you can have Shahid's invasion be a more looming force throughout GW, and have The Gard's defeat not be the end of this hypothetical route. It could be given to Shahid instead; another invasion, somehow bigger than the last and more motivated to fight. Except now Claude has the Kingdom and Church to help him, and he struggles with whether to kill Shahid or let him live...

What we got:

An outright evil act that completely snaps Claude’s character in half and is not justifiable: *making Faerghus and Sreng fight each other in GW*

I've heard that it's him taking a darker path, I've heard that it was him being desperate, I've even heard someone try and say he was anxious and anxiety does things to people ("I know I sparked a border war but did you consider that I have anxiety :(" lmao), but like. C'mon. Dimitri at his most mentally unstable, when he was calling people rats and murdering anything that wore red and literally talking to the air because he genuinely thought the ghosts of his loved ones were spurring him on to get vengeance at all costs, still never harmed innocent people and still cared for his friends. He still held onto his core beliefs, and that's with him having way more understandable reasons to discard them than 3Hopes!Claude could ever dream of having. There were ways to develop Claude's darker tendencies without resulting in the assassination that is GW (post That Point) that would have been infinitely more interesting than doing something as horrible as that with no repercussions (no his friends being mad at him for two seconds isn't a "consequence" they still stay with him and follow his lead afterwards)

Golden Deer's Plea 2.0 with Claude trading priceless information to one lion king, on the condition that when they get the hell out of dodge, Dimitri will support him in mediating peace with Almyra, whether Claude is on the Fódlani or Almyran side.

Fuck! I know what i said about not writing a GW alternative but the thought is tempting. Hm. Maybe a shorter piece instead of a full-blow, multi-chaptered monster.

The problem with comparing Hopes!Claude to pre-Gronder!Dimitri is the narrative framing, from what I can tell. Obviously I would like to play the route with my own two hands and my own two eyes, but Claude, from what I can tell, is never made out to be wrong the way Dimitri is, nor does he condemn himself for committing acts he would have condemned were he in the right frame of mind. I love an overthinker as much as the next gal, but Claude's whole psyche wouldn't snap under it, and if Dimitri can't bring himself to kill innocents at his darkest, lowest moments because it's the foundation of his person, I have a really hard time believing a little hardship is enough to make Claude resort to the thing that made his childhood an actual living hell.

alex had told you that olivier took a precarious position to keep you safe, as you were secretly being stalked by enemy forces. she tried to bargain for your release, but inevitably met her demise in a fearsome battle in which she fought tirelessly. it must’ve been humiliating for her to lose in such a manner.

but looking down upon her beautiful face once more, you know that isn’t true. the northern wall of briggs with her famed icy blood had secretly harbored a heart of gold, one that she would only give to those she felt truly deserved it. and by some miracle, that was you.

so giving her one last kiss on the forehead, you left your lover chewing cotton wool.

(rp): Drista!! I love this chaotic child and am looking forward to seeing the children bully each other lmao. I especially love the mythos around Creative mode, and that the most benevolent god on the Dream SMP is just as likely to ban you as hand you a shulker box lol.

I do wonder how in character cc!Tommy is going to be able to stay during this stream: on one hand he’s a master at staying in character even during lh moments, and on the other Exile arc is some Dark Shit and Dristas like what, 14?? Overall I expect this to be one of the lighter streams, with a smattering of moments where we remember that, oh right, Tommy’s pretty actively suicidal at this point and he sees this as one of his last hurrahs.

Speaking of our boy Tommy: it's very clear we are getting closer and closer to the infamous pillar. He switches rapidly between Fight and Fawn reflexes and has mostly internalized Dream’s treatment and conditions at this point. The one stand out moment being him calling out Dream killing Mexican Dream last stream, and pointing out he was changing his story even when Dream tried to lie and say he died of “a drug overdose [...] or natural causes”. I’m curious if Tommy is going to bring it up again, and even more curious if he eventually believes Dream about it; something to watch out for, for sure. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this moment of rebellion happened right after he had someone both stand up for him and spend time with him that wasn’t actively hostile or going to end (supposedly, at least by intention)

u know i really haven't written any crossovers? it's normally not my thing cause my brain typically focuses on a single thing and doesn't really have the capacity to think about more than that, so i end up writing just au-style or fusion-style (shoutout to that one bnha but it was scooby doo fic i wrote - x)

aha yes, i have. the only straight up hate i've received was on a kaeluc fic (surprisingly not because it was kaeluc, but bc i was 'mistreating' kaeya in the fic) - to be entirely fair, the commenter pointed out something that i hadn't realized myself, and it led to a second piece of the story that helped me tie up some loose ends, but...let's just say they weren't very kind about their feelings lmao

other than that, i had someone very upset because i didn't tag which character was bottoming in a fic (valid if that bugs u!) and they read through most of it before getting to the smut (and said that they enjoyed everything up to that point) then said they were 'disgusted' by it. i have opinions on that and a few other comments they made, but i will keep them to myself lmao

and beyond that, just a few ppl on my xiaoven fic saying that they were unhappy about the background kaeluc (which is tagged lmao) - really no hate whatsoever til genshin, honestly, which is...very hmmmm :) lmao

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

well first and foremost, with only 2 exceptions, i never post a fic unless it's done. i tend to follow wherever my passion leads my brain, so i'm notorious for jumping around between stories and taking breaks from long fic and returning later on to finish them, and i know that i would not do well under the pressure of posting something unfinished and trying to finish it in a timely manner

that said, many wips sit in my google doc folder, but one is Well Known as the one that has followed me through both the phandom and bnha (rose keeps asking who i'm gonna switch the chars to in genshin, but i think it suits bakudeku too well to do that) - only the lonely survive. it sits at like 36k in my wip folder, and i adore the story dearly and i want very much to finish it, but it never makes it quite to the forefront of my motivation, and so it rarely if ever gets worked on...i hate the idea of 'never' finishing it, but it's unfortunately quite likely that i won't 😭😭😭

What are your writing strengths?

emotion!!! and immersion!!! it's my goal in a fic to make it as immersive as possible and saturated with emotion to help convey that feeling of being in the place of the pov character, and i think i do it pretty well. also just bc i feel a little obligated to say it - another strength is actually sitting down and putting words down. i know that's a struggle for a lot of writers and i often get,,,,lovingly bullied? i guess? lmao for being able to bash out a few k in a day most days

What are your writing weaknesses?

this isn't so much a weakness i guess but i am basically incapable of treating crack fic as crack. if i have a cracky idea, it will, without a doubt, end up turning into a Perfectly Serious fic somehow (notable 'crack treated so seriously that it's no longer crack' fics include: todoroki doing the freeze-the-ocean thing from frozen 2, 'shmigaraki', todo and denki get together bc of vine references, the league sells feet pics, shiggy and natsu own a nightclub/bakery, scooby doo but make it bnha, and dabi getting his ears pierced at claire's)

but in all seriousness, i think my main weakness is that i often get comfortable? and i'm not one to typically push myself forcefully out of my comfort zone when it comes to stories that i come up with on my own, which often means that ideas inspired by discussions with others are what prompt me to branch out and try new things?

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

i think, like anything, it has its place? there are certainly stories where it makes sense to do that and even adds depth to a story, although i personally am not exceptionally comfortable enough with other languages (except maybe asl) to do that in fic myself without the assistance of someone very comfortable with that language lmao

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

the phandom! not really my jam to write rpf anymore but it definitely got me started and i'm really grateful for my time writing there, as everyone was super supportive and kind, and it was really a perfect place for a beginner to get comfortable and practice

again, forcing me to choose between my children...i really don't know that i can pick one fic bc they all exist in such wildly different spaces? i poured my worldbuilding soul into the king of disaster series (mainly dabihawks - x), exile (dan and phil - x) was my first massively long fic, our hearts are heavy burdens we shouldn't have to bear alone (chayea - x) is probably my favorite character/character dynamic study, i'm exceptionally proud of the smut in chosen (zhongchi - x), the list goes on and on and on lmao like. i could probably list half my fics as favorites in some regard dsflkjdfsjkl

Also love how bluntly Aloy just explains her being a clone of a woman dead 1000 years. And admits to a machine creating her. But you can also see how painful it is for her, too. She just isn't gonna dance around it and drag it out.

But she's really just. Bluntly shattering Varl's religious worldview with the truth. (Still interesting that the Nora have a religion and legends that... Aren't actually entirely off-base, that hold a core of truth distorted by a thousand years of time)

But also... Is the Nora idea truly wrong? GAIA may be an AI, but what is a god or goddess truly? Can an AI, a true fully aware AI, not be such from the limited perspective of mankind?

Also loved the Slitherfang, that is SUCH a cool design!

The pieces I mentioned above (nightmare pieces and fighting pieces and angsty home life ha.. ha.ha.ha.). That Oikawa one where the reader wakes up in bed without him and thinks he left. You write these gorgeous atmospheres and descriptive, visceral feelings, and if you chose to use it for evil…. You could get evil shit done. You’re SO powerful. So I want to read it… but also…. I don’t. I’d love to see you write ABO like you mentioned a while back or just see you explore a cutesy soulmate AU or something. I think you’d be really good at writing an AU where you hear what the other person’s listening too. I feel like you’d be so good at making me feel something for someone who was in another city. (think this would be cute with Tsukki cos he’s headphones boy, OR terushima because I like the dynamic of someone flirty, who clearly cares about looks, falling for someone he can’t see) ANYWAY….

Have any of your stories helped me through a hard time? Of course. Your self-harm piece came at a time I needed it. Iwaizumi’s in particular saved my life. But also your Tendou dealing with S/O parents who fight… came right when I needed it. Also starting college… was hard.. And reading and rereading your fluff really pulled me through it.

Do I genuinely like your blog, it’s aesthetic or posts? It’s overall feel? It’s content? Yes. The aesthetic is, ngl, a wee bit basic. But I kinda love that. And the feel? It feels like home.
