The absolute funniest H. P. Lovecraft story is The Nameless City.  Where the narrator is like ‘Its weird how this entire ancient city is built with low ceilings that can only be navigated by crawling.  Strange how all the murals on the walls in these cities depict the inhabitants as these weird crocodile creatures.  Oh and theres an entire hallway of coffins containing the remains of these same crocodile creatures.’ 

‘obviously the people who built this city worshiped the crocodiles and built the ceilings low for religious/ritual reasons.’

Fun fact:she a scarecrow like her father.she is made of hay and lock of Ryo and embry hair by her grandfather.Her hair look like vanne.but she a scarecrow.she was a baby after she was made by her grandfather and then later age like normal human been.

henlo! I saw This Post™ from you, and was wanting to know if you could share said list? I got very curious about it!

That is kind of vague, isn't it?

The event's organizer scanned and uploaded the zine here, so anybody who wanted to could print it out and distribute it.

But in case you don't feel like swiveling your head a bunch, my list (in no particular order) was:

Muriel's Wedding (1994, dir. P.J. Hogan)

Castle Waiting Vols. 1 & 2 (2006 and 2010, by Linda Medley)

The Nameless City Trilogy (2016-2018, by Faith Erin Hicks)

Nation (2008, by Terry Pratchett)

Parable of the Sower (1993, by Octavia Butler)

This, of course, was just what I had room for, bounded by the definition mentioned above and the informal rule that I didn't want to include any children's media. As I said before, media aimed at or about children tends to fulfill this definition. But I tried to steer clear of it because there's not much subversive about writing children's media without romance. My aim was to highlight media where a conventional story would take the opportunity to shoehorn in a romance at some point, but these stories did not.

And in case anyone is curious, the story on the list that most explicitly rejects amatonormativity is Muriel's Wedding (although I doubt anyone involved in the movie would describe it that way), and my favourite story on the list is Castle Waiting.

The novel Nation by Terry Pratchett and the comic book trilogy The Nameless City by Faith Erin Hicks are probably my favourite examples of works of fiction that do this. I strongly recommend them both.

NOT ONLY do i want more m/f friendships in media where there's nothing romantic between them, but i want m/f friendships where both characters are SINGLE so that there's no reason there to "justify" why those two can't date. i want the platonicness of their relationship to be something that stands on its own merit.

some years back, I was way into this era of doctor who, and there was a post going around at the time like “hey, in 2022 the 22nd of february is gonna be on a tuesday. it’s twosday” and I was like haha, like the guy. it’s his day. so now the actual date’s finally here, I have to draw something!

there’s an audio story that starts off with jamie arguing how all aliens are inherently evil, based on information gathered from his many adventures through space on the alien spacecraft piloted by his friend the space alien, in which he has definitely never encountered an alien who wasn’t evil.
