Nålbinding Bottle Cozy

I finished a thing!

Yarn: Lettlopi, colourways 1705 (lambagras) and 0005 (hærusvartur) and Catania leftovers (probably 105, 208, 398) and Catania Color (233).

The body is nålbinding, no pattern.

The flowers are crochet, following patterns from RaffaMusaDesigns (they're super easy, just 2 rounds basically!).

The drawstrings I made with a lucet.

So like, a cross crafts project! ^_^

I love it and most importantly, kid 1 for whom this was made, loves it too ^_^

Okay soooooo very tired from Woolstock so I'll post pictures tomorrow but quick question for those of you have use a lucet knitting fork:

Can I use unfinished handspun or should I steam set the twist before hand?

Please excuse my shitty camera quality, but here's my lucetting!

Pictures of my longest lucet cord, a tiny bit, and my current one! Plus the actually lucet. The squiggly bit is called frogging, and it's done by weaving a smaller bit of string through it and then scrunching it up along that string

I go through periods where I don't touch the lucet fork for months and then out of nowhere I am possessed with the urge to make a million cords.

The green cord still on the fork + the one right below will be shirt laces for my boss and coworker.

Also experimented with braiding leather cord...it was hard. I'll need a larger fork for that and also probably should oil and work the leather before braiding it to get more consistent loops. That plus the grey and the variegated cord will go to my leatherworker friend, so he can experiment with putting them to use, and maybe we can collaborate on some pieces in the future.

The two white cords are the last remnants of some very high quality Irish wool skeins I got as a gift. I can't believe I haven't tried wool before! I thought it would not turn out well bc it's so stretchy but it turns out stretch is beneficial on a tension-based tool, who woulda thought. I was so excited about how nice these cords turned out that I accosted my bf and his brother when they came home last night and both of them were tipsy and got me giving an impromptu lecture on staple length

A lucet bracelet I recently made! The button is dark mother of pearl and the yarn is a silk blend that we spun ourselves!

I picked up a new skill today! I made beaded flat lucet cord! The tension is trickier, I stopped when my yarn snapped after about two feet. Maybe I'm just too used to the crochet cotton and I have to be gentler.

Anyway, maybe I'll make some of this up as largesse! I don't have a plan for using it currently.

I’m gonna make a list of Ghost and Pals songs that remind me of Bioshock 1 and 2 character (maybe with the Lucete too) because they both infect my brain right now.

I’ll probably put the lyrics that remind me of them, I’m not gonna go by the lore of the song just of what reminds me of them :)
