THE "SINGLE-DAD FIT" PENGUIN IS BACK AGAIN!!
I had this lil' skit in my head for a while now. As you could see, Penguin was still in the East (specifically Japan) during this since he found Mavis' egg while he was touring. So this is among many of his days struggling to care for this creature. You can ALSO see that he is, yet again, starting to question his life 😂.
They may not look it, but the twins are at least there when needed.

I love Tom Kenny's Penguin. A slob and a glutton who's trying to pretend he's a rich aristocrat. But all he has is a dilapidated mansion. His parents or grandparents were forced to leave england in exile, so The Penguin just wants to steal back his family's riches. He's not really Batman's enemy; his personal vendetta lies with Alfred Pennyworth (the Pennyworths used to be the Cobblepot family Butlers in England) and also with Bruce Wayne (who has the butler and all the money his family lost years ago). Batman is more or less a minor problem for him, I would say. If Joker is Batman's villian, Penguin is the enemy of Bruce Wayne.
Also, Penguin having a weird oriental thing is kind of funny. He must've blown the last of his money on a tour of asia. Because he has two mute kabuki girls as his constant companions. We never see their faces, but they're master attackers. Also, Penguin uses trained birds to commit robberies. And our first clue he's the crook? His first bird was an owl from china. He's such a fun character. Tom Kenny makes him funny but also menacing, which I love. Tom Kenny was a voice actor I saw everywhere as a kid. The Penguin, Plastic Man, Ice King, etc. He gets all the comic relief characters (with a dash of seriousness), but that's because he does comedy so well. And he blends his serious work in with the silly stuff super well.

I started rewatching The Batman animated series recently and was reminded by how much I like the look of Penguin's henchwomen; The Kabuki Twins. Before I knew it I started drawing a few designs and this is end result. I'm quite pleased with how this turned out.

The Kabuki Twins are back ! With a new tale of a valiant and bloodthirsty warrior, aided by a sneaky old man with crooked fingers.. My take on those Penguin henchwomen in the animated show "the Batman". They always had a cool "weird silent assassin" vibe going on.
Made for the Character Design Challenge, themed "Gotham city crime" : P

Mahou AU Kabuki Twins
The twins met Oswald in Japan where he offers to take them to Gotham to live with him because they were living on the streets before meeting. They now live together helping Oswald save the city from kaijus and the odd magical warrior and run a blog so he can maybe get some notoriety. (This Batman guy can’t take ALL the credit ya know)
Peri
-She can speak English well but can’t read it at all
-She wants to be a filmmaker in the future but can’t afford to go to college for it
-She’s hoping her vlogs with Oswald will be monetized.
-The cheeriest twin sister of the two usually getting too excited in the middle of fights
-Has studied magic girl anime like it’s her job and now she gives Oswald pointers
-works at a bookstore part time
-When coming to America she chose the name Peri because it’s easier for Gail to pronounce (her Japanese name is Ibuki)
Gail
-She can read English but can’t speak it well
-the quieter twin and is usually the voice of reason
-packs a bunch of umbrellas when going out just in case
-works part time at a museum gift shop
- made the masks for her and her sister to stay anonymous
-works on the writing portion of the blog
-Chose the name Gail because it’s short. (Her Japanese name is Kagami)

What does Mavis(Batman 2004) feel about The Kabuki Twins? Do they get along with you?
((2004 Mavis' egg would've been found by Penguin while he was still traveling around the East, but the Kabuki twins were already hired bodyguards to him. They had the task of sometimes keeping an eye on her while he was off doing who knows what. They never exactly interacted much with Mavis beyond that, but along with Penguin, they were also there in teaching her martial arts early in her life.))

The Batman (2004) was way better than Batman: The Animated Series. It was missing some villians, sure. But on the whole, it made up for it by having some absolutely great antagonists. I mostly just watched seasons 1-2, but that was enough for me. Tom Kenny as Penguin, Kevin Michael Richardson as Joker, Robert Englund as The Riddler, Clancy Brown as Mister Freeze, Dan Castellaneta as The Ventriloquist, the voice cast was honestly pretty good. I remember most of the villians, because they were creative and weird. The show was a little dark, but it was weird dark, not boring dark. There is a slight difference between those two things, after all.
And sure, the show could have benefited from Two-Face, The Mad Hatter, maybe even some Scarecrow moments. But we had Clayface as a substitute for Two-Face. And that substitution actually worked pretty well. Ethan Bennett, the good cop corrupted by Joker and turned into Clayface...it actually works pretty well. And I mean... it's no Richard Moll Two-Face, but it's still probably the most impactful Clayface for me. It's the Clayface I probably saw first as a kid.
And while the show missed some of the Btas villians, they managed to add some fun villains of their own. Ragdoll is a real standout. I saw him in just one episode, but Jeff Bennett did such a good job! I was transfixed. So the show had some real highlights. I still think The Brave and The Bold tops everything else, but The Batman (2004) was probably my second favourite. Beyond a small handful of episodes, I seem to strongly dislike Batman the animated series. So these other two really stick out in my memory.

The full set!!
whilst Kei was a chubby kid and the girls were quite lean, it got flipped after they went through puberty, so the twins ended up inheriting their curviness from Azul's side and Kei became quite lean due to rigorous kabuki training! Kei is also the only one of the kids who keeps using glasses instead of contacts, since he's used to wearing them for longer while the girls only started needing glasses later in life
