1 Chronicles 16:1-18 (AMP). “So they brought the ark of God and set it inside the tent which David had pitched for it, and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God. When David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord. He distributed to everyone in Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, a portion of meat, and a raisin cake.
He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord and to profess [God’s name] and to thank and praise the Lord, the God of Israel: Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, then Jeiel (Jaaziel), Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel with musical instruments, harps and lyres; also Asaph played loud-sounding cymbals; and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests blew trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.
Then on that day David first entrusted to Asaph and his relatives to give thanks to the Lord [as their chief task].
Psalm of Thanksgiving O give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; Make His deeds known among the peoples. Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders. Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face continually [longing to be in His presence]. Remember [with gratitude] His marvelous deeds which He has done, His miracles and the judgments from His mouth, O seed of Israel His servant, Children of Jacob, His chosen ones!
He is the Lord our God; His judgments are in all the earth. Be mindful of His covenant forever, The promise which He commanded and established to a thousand generations, The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath (sworn promise) to Isaac. He confirmed it as a statute to Jacob, And to Israel as an everlasting covenant, [Gen 35:11, 12] Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan, As the portion of your possession and inheritance.”

Offerings for the Tabernacle (Exodus 40:1-33; Hebrews 9:1-10)
1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that gives it willingly with his heart you shall take my offering. 3 And this is the offering which you shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass, 4 And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair, 5 And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood, 6 Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense, 7 Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate. 8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. 9 According to all that I show you, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall you make it.
The Ark of the Covenant (Exodus 37:1-9)
10 And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof. 11 And you shall overlay it with pure gold, within and without shall you overlay it, and shall make on it a crown of gold round about. 12 And you shall cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four corners thereof; and two rings shall be in the one side of it, and two rings in the other side of it. 13 And you shall make staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold. 14 And you shall put the staves into the rings by the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them. 15 The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not be taken from it. 16 And you shall put into the ark the testimony which I shall give you.
The Mercy Seat
17 And you shall make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof. 18 And you shall make two cherubim of gold, of beaten work shall you make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat. 19 And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on the two ends thereof. 20 And the cherubim shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. 21 And you shall put the mercy seat above on the ark; and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. 22 And there I will meet with you, and I will commune with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.
The Table of Showbread (Exodus 37:10-16; Leviticus 24:5-9)
23 You shall also make a table of shittim wood: two cubits shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof. 24 And you shall overlay it with pure gold, and make thereto a crown of gold round about. 25 And you shall make to it a border of an hand breadth round about, and you shall make a golden crown to the border thereof round about. 26 And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are on the four feet thereof. 27 Over against the border shall the rings be for places of the staves to bear the table. 28 And you shall make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be borne with them. 29 And you shall make the dishes thereof, and spoons thereof, and covers thereof, and bowls thereof, to cover with: of pure gold shall you make them. 30 And you shall set on the table show bread before me always.
The Golden Lampstand (Numbers 8:1-4)
31 And you shall make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same. 32 And six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side: 33 Three bowls made like to almonds, with a bud and a flower in one branch; and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch, with a bud and a flower: so in the six branches that come out of the candlestick. 34 And in the candlesticks shall be four bowls made like to almonds, with their knops and their flowers. 35 And there shall be a bud under two branches of the same, and a bud under two branches of the same, and a bud under two branches of the same, according to the six branches that proceed out of the candlestick. 36 Their knops and their branches shall be of the same: all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold. 37 And you shall make the seven lamps thereof: and they shall light the lamps thereof, that they may give light over against it. 38 And the tongs thereof, and the firepans thereof, shall be of pure gold. 39 Of a talent of pure gold shall he make it, with all these vessels. 40 And look that you make them after their pattern, which was showed you in the mount. — Exodus 25 | American King James Version (KJVUS) The American King James Version is Produced by Stone Engelbrite. Apparently they found the ark of the covenant some time in last 7 years.
The box was locked when it was stolen by raiders and placed into a storage space underground.
It hadn't been opened since, and we found that the box was empty at the time it was taken.
Most interesting is a pair of blacklight stone lenses that are on top of the box held up by a couple of copper figurines.
They are constructed and placed in such a way that if one end of the box was pointing the sun a fine focused beam of ultraviolet light is projected from the other side.
This beam in the right conditions can set fire to hair, fur and fabric.
These conditions however are rather specific,
it must be in a desert,
it must be a hot day,
and it must be in the height of summer.
but if these conditions are met, you've functionally got a low-powered a long-range flame-thrower.
weird how something similar is mentioned within the records at the time.
unfortunately it's currently in the possession of the Islamic state atm.
so there might be an issue in getting it into the right hands.

Discipline Not Desire Determines Your Destiny
1 David again gathered all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand. 2 And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Baale-judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord of hosts who sits enthroned on the cherubim. 3 And they carried the ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. And…

All hail Mary! Lady full of grace, The child that you bear will save the human race!
Through you the great I Am Takes on the flesh of man And He comes to save us from our sin!
(Happy Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, and Happy New Year!)

JOKE-OGRAPHY: 1. The internet has a long and storied history of random, unsolicited Christian Sonic fanart. I’m not sure why this is, but as a random, unsolicited Christian myself, I figured it was time I added to that legacy. This cartoon features Shadow the Hedgehog (Sonic’s edgy rival) praying the rosary before a shrine to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He says “Ave Maria” because that’s the first line of the “Hail Mary” (a popular Catholic prayer) in Latin, but is also a reference to Shadow’s best friend from his tragic backstory: Maria. 2. Sonic Adventure was one of the first games I remember playing. My brothers, cousins, and I would spend all our limited gaming time playing it on my uncle’s Sega Dreamcast. When the sequel, Sonic Adventure 2, came out, my grandparents got it for me as an early birthday gift. Even my sisters enjoyed the games because of the adorable Chao Garden (bring it back, Sega, you cowards). Anyway, the series has had its ups and downs since then, but it’ll always hold a special place in my heart. Sonic Adventure 2 also introduced Shadow the Hedgehog and his tragic backstory with Maria, which the new movie, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, finally adapted for the big screen. I never thought I’d see the day. 3. The description under the cartoon is a parody of “All Hail Shadow”, a theme song from the notorious Shadow the Hedgehog spin-off game from 2005. Instead of the original lyrics, I've turned it into a revamped “Hail Mary” prayer, because all things will submit to God.

I'm insane about Viktor Arcane. What if you were both Dr. Frankenstein and his reviled creation. What if you refused to die when you should have died, because you still had so much work to do. What if you survived, but couldn't live with yourself afterwards. What if you stubbornly lived anyways. What if you stubbornly-- impiously--impudently-- monstrously-- wanted the world to be better than it was. What if all you wanted was for people to suffer less than they do. What if G-d was an infinite fractal fungal infection that colonized your dying body, made you it's prophet, and gave you the power to make the world better than it was. What if you could help people suffer less than they do. What if it wasn't enough.
What if you spent years of your life studying G-d under a microscope and then it got inside you and changed you!!! What if you loved everyone!!! What if you spent your entire life trying to understand, and then finally you did, and it was horrific! What if G-d was horrific! What if you loved it anyways! What if G-d was a tool in your hands! What if you believed in mercy! What if you were angry and bitter and jaded and understood the way that the world was and you STILL believed in mercy! What if you believed in a better way! What if people believed in you! What if it still wasn't enough!!!!!!!! What if you and everyone you saved died anyway. What if there was a pile of corpses with your fingerprints etched on every one of their faces.

Joshua 3:11-16 (NLT). [11] Look, the Ark of the Covenant, which belongs to the Lord of the whole earth, will lead you across the Jordan River! [12] Now choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe. [13] The priests will carry the Ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth. As soon as their feet touch the water, the flow of water will be cut off upstream, and the river will stand up like a wall.” [14] So the people left their camp to cross the Jordan, and the priests who were carrying the Ark of the Covenant went ahead of them. [15] It was the harvest season, and the Jordan was overflowing its banks. But as soon as the feet of the priests who were carrying the Ark touched the water at the river’s edge, [16] the water above that point began backing up a great distance away at a town called Adam, which is near Zarethan. And the water below that point flowed on to the Dead Sea until the riverbed was dry. Then all the people crossed over near the town of Jericho.”
Joshua 4:1-8 (NLT). [1] “When all the people had crossed the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua, [2] “Now choose twelve men, one from each tribe. [3] Tell them, ‘Take twelve stones from the very place where the priests are standing in the middle of the Jordan. Carry them out and pile them up at the place where you will camp tonight.’” [4] So Joshua called together the twelve men he had chosen—one from each of the tribes of Israel. [5] He told them, “Go into the middle of the Jordan, in front of the Ark of the Lord your God. Each of you must pick up one stone and carry it out on your shoulder—twelve stones in all, one for each of the twelve tribes of Israel. [6] We will use these stones to build a memorial. In the future your children will ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ [7] Then you can tell them, ‘They remind us that the Jordan River stopped flowing when the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant went across.’ These stones will stand as a memorial among the people of Israel forever.” [8] So the men did as Joshua had commanded them. They took twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan River, one for each tribe, just as the Lord had told Joshua. They carried them to the place where they camped for the night and constructed the memorial there.”
“Remembering God’s Goodness” By In Touch Ministries:
“How can you create reminders of the Lord's faithfulness?”
“Some information—like a birthday or phone number—is easy to remember. Yet we tend to forget examples of the Lord’s goodness to us. Today’s verses suggest a way to counteract this.
After bringing His people safely out of Egypt and through the Red Sea, God miraculously provided another dry path by piling up the Jordan’s waters in a heap upstream. He knew the Israelites were about to enter Jericho and would, by His power, overcome that city. It was certainly compassionate of God to give that tangible illustration of His strength and presence before the battle. But He also knew how quickly they had forgotten Him before.
The Lord had a plan to help His people recall the miracle at the river. He told them to create a memorial with 12 stones, each representing a tribe of Israel that had passed safely through the waters (Josh. 4:7-8). Then they would have a lasting visible reminder of divine rescue.
We’re much like the Israelites: When God works in big, obvious ways, it’s easy to trust Him. But in time, we drift toward self-reliance until we’re reminded of our need for Him and repent.
How can you create reminders of God’s faithfulness? Whether it’s by journaling or creating a “thankfulness list,” make sure you have a way to remember the Lord’s involvement in your life.”
