as much as i like the fandom concept of commander cody being one of the main leaders of the clones, if not just straight up the one at the very top of the chain of command, it's interesting, and kinda funny, how it happened by misunderstanding
cody is a clone marshal commander, which is what people take to mean he's at the top of the "hierarchy" or whatever, but isn't that because he's the clone commander of a high general?
he's not just the commander of the 212th alongside obi-wan. obi-wan is the high general of the third systems army, which has almost 300,000 soldiers (according to legends wiki)
Tumblr media
it doesn't specifically point out that cody is involved at this level, but it would make sense if he did as obi-wan's second in command since he doesn't have a padawan
therefore, the clone commanders of all the high generals/council members should all be considered marshal commanders
this would include ponds, wolffe, monnk, etc. if they are the leaders of their respective generals' systems armies, which could fit as there are apparently around 3 million clones from 10 systems armies (leaving out 2 council members)
this could result in some sort of leading council like the jedi for the clones in AUs where the clones lead themselves or have their own planet and whatnot
but to make things even more interesting, we could also account for the ranking within the jedi council. while they are all high council members, yoda and mace are the leaders, with yoda being the grandmaster and mace being the master of the order. considering that yoda had apparently been retired or was going to retire from his role, he likely deferred to mace quite a bit right before the war and then just straight up worked together throughout the war
following this, their respective commanders could follow their high ranks in their own leadership and be considered the highest ranking individuals. however, although commander gree accompanied yoda in RotS, he's actually luminara's commander, and yoda and shaak ti could be the 2 without systems armies
in conclusion, ponds (in AUs where he survives the war/never died) is at the top of the hierarchy, being the marshal commander to mace, master of the order, and could be an understandable individual to lead the clones or vode unless the top commanders all share equal leadership

Last line challenge from @biscuityskies
Actually putting two snippets in here. As a treat! I'm not sure who to tag so you can consider this your invite to post anything you want!
From my Codywan fic (on my extended Clone Wars timeline AU—this is year 7):
The journey to Moraband saw the revival of the 212th hull-ball tournaments. Cody watched Wooley lead Team Bridge Command against Team Parjai, who were the undefeated champions, in the opening rounds. Five days in, Team MedSurg upset Team Bomb Squad in the day’s quarter-finals. Cody, as the highest authority on the rules by which the game is played, found himself adjudicating point disputes. He started using his HUD to give him an action-replay to analyze particularly close calls. Watchdog acted as a second pair of eyes when necessary.  Obi-Wan commed him every night. He filled Cody in on details of his Temple life. He had been mobbed by Jedi Initiates that morning in one of the meditation halls. He was spending more time teaching. He was thinking about taking another Padawan, after the war. They spoke in code about information not available in reports: Vos was alive. Fox had eaten a meal that day. The full journey took three weeks. By the end, Parjai were still undefeated, and most of the men had moved on to gambling at cards. Vos was still alive. Fox was going for a lot of long runs.  Cody had decided somewhere around year two of the war that ferruginous planets were his least favorite. The reddish, oxidized soil rubbed into armor or mixed with sweat on skin always looked like blood. It took days to polish the red scuffs out, and that was after the actual blood was all washed away. Obi-Wan had told him that Moraband used to be known as Korriban, that it was the homeworld of the ancient Sith race. Cody was not sure what else he could have expected, other than this blood-colored mess of mountain ranges and sandstorms that vomited hundreds of thousands of battle droids into the galaxy each week. Watchdog stood with him on the bridge, looking out at the rotation of the planet as the atmo transports were prepared.  “Ugly fucking thing, isn’t it?” he asked. Cody hummed in agreement, hands folded behind his back. “First wave leaves in fifteen. Figured you’d want to be on it.” “Thank you, Watchdog. Keep everything locked down up here,” Cody said, nodding to him. “You have the bridge.” Watchdog saluted.  In the lift, Cody sent a typed message to Obi-Wan’s comm. Landing soon. Will report tonight. The doors opened to a rush of astromechs and GNK droids. Mechanics, pilots, and troopers flowed along walkways and into larties, into Nu-Class shuttles, and smaller fighters.  Moraband did not get any prettier when they got closer to the surface. Breaking atmo revealed hideously jagged mountain ridges. The droid foundry was ten heavily-armed kilometers from the drop zone. Cody was not looking forward to the trek.  He never got that far.  He was glad that he was wearing his jetpack, because when the first round of anti-air artillery hit the LAAT, he had less than two seconds to react to the gaping hole in the hull, to the sudden absence of eight other troopers, to the breach alarms wailing, before the next blast hit. He grabbed two of the other men and leapt out the side of the ship. His jetpack was not designed for this heavy of a lift, and they were falling too fast. The propulsion was sputtering; the explosion of the ship above them hailed flaming debris and blasted them towards the surface of the planet. His comms were screeching in his ears as fighter pilots scrambled to support. The ground was coming too fast. One of the men, Quarter, was shouting to drop him so that he could save himself and the other man, Piecemeal. He started to beat on Cody’s wrist, but Cody held on. The ground was coming too fast. Cody’s jetpack sputtered out, and they fell the remaining one-hundred and sixty feet to the surface of the planet. Cody went out on impact.
From my QuinFox fic (same timeline, this is year 1):
Fox’s office was empty when he opened the door. It was empty when he tugged his helmet off and set it on the shelf by the door. It was empty when he keyed the door closed and locked. It was not empty when he turned around.  “So,” said the man leaning against Fox’s desk. “Pretty interested in Kenobi, hm?” He had a lightsaber clipped to his belt. The gold tattoo across his nose and cheeks flashed in the light.  Fox had a hand on his blaster. “Don’t move,” he warned.  The man raised his hands. “I come with peace in my heart and curiosity in my mind. You’re a great slicer, for what it’s worth. Took me forever to figure out that it was you.” “That what was me?” Fox was grinding his teeth. His right hand was itching. “You pulled Obi-Wan’s records. Don’t totally understand why you covered your tracks so thoroughly, though. That’s what I want to know.” He stepped forward, hands still raised. “It’s not like you were breaking any regs. What gives?” “Get out of my fucking office,” Fox snarled. “Ooh, you’re mean,” the man said, smiling at him. Fox stepped back and adjusted the grip on his blaster. “I like that in a guy.” Fox knew he was blushing. Idiot.  “And shy, how charming.” The man had crossed his arms. He had a matching gold tattoo on his bicep.  Fox called to mind the standard punishment for murdering a superior—firing squad—and weighed his options. “How did you get in here?” “Oh, it’s a fun trick. But if I explain it, it’ll ruin the fun.” “I’m not very interested in fun,” Fox retorted. “Somehow I don’t think that’s true,” the man said. “But if you insist…” He vanished. “Fuck,” Fox whispered, followed by a much louder, “Fuck!” when the man reappeared inches from his face.  “Part of the job,” the man said, smirking at him and not the least bit uncomfortable being within striking distance. Fox swallowed. “You’re a Shadow?” The man nodded, spreading his arms.“Quinlan Vos, at your service. No need for any formalities—I’m not technically a member of the GAR.” “Fox.” “So, back to my original question. Why so interested in my friend Obi-Wan?” “I think you probably already know. Why come if you know who I got them for?” “You caught me,” Vos said, smiling. He had a small gap between his front teeth. “I know you got those records for your batchmate, who they call Kote.” “Cody,” Fox snapped. “Cody, sorry. He wouldn’t have had access to those without going through Obi-Wan. You don’t have a Jedi overseeing you,” Vos said. “So you can get any records you want.” Fox raised his eyebrows. “I fail to see how any of this warrants sneaking into my office.” “Well, this was more for fun,” Vos admitted.  “You have a strange definition of ‘fun,’” Fox said, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms. “And you don’t?” Vos had one eyebrow raised. “Well, you’ve had your fun,” Fox said. “So, now you can get out.”

Bare beskar
On the eve of marching to war, Obi-Wan makes plans and digs out his old armour. Musings on Mandalorian armour and culture, the ethics of commanding slave soldiers and how that affects one’s self-image.
Could be the same AU as “Not Obi-Wan’s first slave uprising” and “What makes a military genius” (where Obi-Wan is presented with a battalion of slave soldiers, says please and thank you, and starts plotting how to take down the slavers).
Obi-Wan has Mandalorian armour, courtesy of the Kyr’tsad who failed to kill him when he was seventeen and running for his life on Mandalore. The Jedi frown on such soldierly things, so the armour has mostly gathered dust in his closet for the past decade and some. But Obi-Wan has fought in a war before and recognises that no matter how good one is, sometimes armour is all that stands between bleeding out in a ditch and living to fight another day.
So on the eve of marching to war, Obi-Wan digs out his armour to clean and repair and condition every piece. He looks at its light green for peace and green for duty, the order’s wings on one pauldron/over his heart. He strips it all off. He has no right to wear any of it now, and the bare beskar is a statement of its own.
Plus
- Feels about how bare unpainted beskar could be silver for seeking redemption, disavowing all ties (in that there’s no one and nothing to paint his armour for), for being an outcast (which in his heart, he has already decided to become), or all of them. Leading a slave army to war is really really not in the Jedi mission statement. Obi-Wan, having experienced his own stints as a slave, having brought up a padawan who was born a slave, and having already left the order once for an army of child soldiers—well, he has some feels about it.
- Obi-Wan’s closet doesn’t just have armour, it also has a veritable armoury of, ah, useful souvenirs from his various missions. Maybe it makes him a bad Jedi, but Obi-Wan has some difficulty with letting go of possessions that have saved his life. Such as the sniper rifle from Melidaan, a blaster from here, and a vibroblade from there…
- Cody’s/The 212th’s reactions to their Jedi whose luggage apparently includes a full set of arms and armour and little else.
- There’s a story that armour tells for anyone who can read it and I wonder if the clones could. There are only a few things that a completely unpainted beskar’gam could mean. Either it’s completely new and the owner hasn’t had time yet to paint it. But Kenobi’s beskar’gam isn’t new: the metal has scrapes all over it and some fittings are clearly newer than others. It could be second hand, but as the weeks pass, the metal stays bare. And even though some shinies joke about their shiny, very visible general, Kenobi won’t even put on a matte base coat, just thanks the men politely and keeps on shining. It has to be intentional.
- When Obi-Wan eventually repaints his armour, it’s in gold for the 212th and black for justice for the vode.
In the days between accepting his marching orders and shipping out to meet his battalion, Obi-Wan researches, plans, and packs. He sleeps fitfully and dreams of Melida-Daan, of Bandomeer, of Mandalore. He tears through the archives and with echoes of the Young in his ears, downloads anything that might help keep his men alive. With a growing cold like deep sea mines, he reads the clones spec sheets, reviews galactic law, and speed reads his way through the last few years of the senate’s bills.
He pulls out of his closet possessions unbecoming of Jedi—things he has kept because he has been unable to let go of the fear of . There’s his old XX sniper rifle from Melida-Daan. A blaster from here. A vibroblade from there.
And there’s the armour he got from Mandalore. It’s painted in green for duty and erin for peace, the order’s sigil on the pauldron. He can hardly stand to look at it. Standing here, at the eve of marching to war that is to be fought with slave soldiers, he has no right to wear any of it. Not the green of duty, for he has forsaken his duty to protect all sentient life in accepting command of an army of slaves. Not the erin of peace, for he is marching off to fight a war to force worlds to stay in a republic they don’t wish to be a part of. Not the sigil of the Jedi order, for he has already forsaken his vows in these actions—and has already decided to forsake his duty to the republic.
Obi-Wan strips the beskar bare. Before refitting the armour, going through the straps, buckles, replacing worn parts and reconditioning the rest. He spends sleepless nights in the salles relearning to fight in armour.
“Paint? I painted it when I was seventeen. I, ah, stripped it when I accepted the draft.” Kenobi grimaces, but sets his jaw and continues. “I couldn’t keep the paint I had after that.” There’s an odd, bitter clang to his words.

I'm curious about the AI Au 👀
gskfjdlsa
It's an AU that I started writing months ago, and was very excited about, but then suddenly I got very demotivated for various reasons. I still love the idea though, and I AM going to finish it one day.
The fic takes place in the GFFA, but Anakin is not a Jedi in it, or even human. In fact he's a very (very) realistic android. Obi-Wan is a jedi and gets stranded in space. It makes him find a planet in wild space nobody knew existed which is something out of Westworld (the HBO show), where realistic androids with feelings are made to be used however people like.
Since I've written around 5k of the fic already, I am able to share sth, which will be the very first bit of the fic:
---
So, this is how I die, Obi-Wan thought idly as he ate the last ration bar on his spaceship. He had one small canister of water left; if he really tried to conserve it, maybe he could last a week. Is there a point in prolonging this, though? He had been stranded in space for two weeks now, drifting in the black nothingness, completely alone save for R4, who was turned off, having run out of energy after failing to power up from the out-of-order ship. His comm devices weren’t working without power, and even before that, he had trouble getting any sort of signal in the middle of the nowhere he’d found himself in.
The possibility of anyone stumbling upon him in the wild space was so close to zero that he didn’t even dare to hope. Instead, he found himself meditating most of his time away, trying to accept the death that was likely to come sooner rather than later. Sitting cross-legged on the floor, covered head to toe in emergency thermal blankets, he looked like a golden cone with a tangle of unkempt ginger hair sticking out from the top. There was no one there to judge him. When they found his frozen corpse in two thousand years, he would be well past caring.
He kept having weird dreams, probably induced by the prolonged lack of sustenance, perpetual cold and overwhelming loneliness that he had no way of overcoming. He was a social creature, always had been, so it was no wonder that two weeks without anyone closer than lightyears away he was starting to lose his mind. The dreams were surreal, too abstract to make any sense of them.
Shadowy figures haunted him—black holes in the Force, alive yet dead at the same time. He could barely make sense of it. Every living thing had a presence in the Force, even plants, let alone sentient beings. But these figures, though humanoid in shape, had less presence in the Force than the grains of sand on Tatooine. Obi-Wan found them highly unsettling. How he wished he could go to the Archives and try to find some meaning in these visions. Were they just the deluded imaginings of a dying man, or was the Force trying to tell him something? For the first time in his life, he wished the Force would just leave him alone. He found no comfort in it anymore.
His one hope was that Ahsoka, his Padawan, wouldn’t be left to fend for herself. He wished that another Jedi Master would be assigned to her, allowing her to complete her apprenticeship and achieve the rank of Jedi Knight. His unfortunate demise should not stand in the way of her path to knighthood. She would make a magnificent Knight—he could only hope the Council would see that too.
He wondered if she was searching for him alongside the 212th Clone Battalion. It was possible, but they wouldn’t even have a starting point. His mission had been a top-secret foray into the Outer Rim, known only to Masters Windu and Yoda. That was before he’d made three separate hyperspace jumps, chasing his elusive target. In the end, his ship had been hit by some kind of weapon, leaving him powerless and stranded while his target escaped into the void, with no way for Obi-Wan to contact anyone.
The weight of his circumstances pressed down on him like a heavy shroud, sapping what little energy remained. Resigned to his fate, he drew the thermal blankets tighter around his body, seeking warmth that never quite arrived. The emptiness of the surrounding space felt almost alive, as if the stars themselves were watching, indifferent to his plight. He exhaled a long, weary sigh, his breath fogging in the cold, stale air. There was nothing more to be done, no strategies left to consider, only the endless stretch of silence. With one final glance at the inert form of R4, he closed his eyes, surrendering to the darkness that seemed eager to swallow him whole.

Merge the Timestream AU.
This came about because the amazing @bitter-chocolate-stars muse for the AU idea Merging the TimeStream flew out and bit me.  I would highly recommend reading it first, because it is awesome and I could not do it justice.
Now onto the madness.
It is a mission to a Force Temple, old enough that no one knows which side of the Force it was for (or if it was for a specific side).  There were rumors that there was an ancient artifact that could change the tides of the War, so The 212th and the 501st were dispatched to get it before the Separatists.
Five people went into the final chamber to search(There was a description of the artifact in the temple. Only four words had been able to be translated-Past, Present, Future, and Knowledge): Obi Wan Kenobi, Anaking Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Commander Cody, and Captain Rex.
It was these five people who were caught by the artifact.  Each of these five were split into three. The present version of themselves, a future version, and a past version.
I bet you all can see where this is going.
Obi Wan’s past version is from Melida/Daan, two days before Cerasi died. The future is Old Ben, coming directly from his own beheading on the Death Star.
Anakin’s past is nine year old Anakin, hours before he would meet Qui Gon Jinn and Padme Amidala for the first time.  The future is Vader (I hope none of you are surprised), a month after he cut off Luke’s hand, and just after he fully realized that it meant his and Padme’s child had always lived.
Ahsoka’s past is three years old, just Found by Plo Koon. Her future is Rebels Era Ahsoka, aka Fulcrum, before she found out that Vader was Anakin.
Rex’s past was a physically four year old cadet, the only survivor of his batch (who were decommissioned because of their blonde hair mutation-Rex’s scores were so high that he was kept). The future is Old Rex, post Empire (I always headcanon that Rex survives to see the end of the Empire because of spite).
Cody’s past is ARC Trainer Cody, after the war had started but before he was assigned to be Obi Wan’s commander. His future had just deserted the Empire and doesn’t even know about the chips yet.
Frankly it likely would have been better if one or more of those people had arrived unconscious. Alas this was not to be.
Upon arriving, Little Ahsoka immediately started crying to the visible concern of both Cadet Rex and Child Anakin (both were concerned about punishment at the noise). Before anyone could even think to do anything, Vader pointed a dramatic finger at Old Ben and went ‘You’ and followed up with ‘Why didn’t you tell me my son lived?’
Old Ben caulked his head, ‘Even leaving aside I thought I had left you for dead for a decade, Darth, why would I trust you with your children after the march on the temple?’
Now Darth Vader rocked back on his heels, “Children?” and then a moment later “Leia Organa”
Old Ben sighed deeply, ‘Surely we can both agree that the fact you tortured your daughter does prove me right to keep them from you.’
‘I cut off Luke’s hand too’ Vader said absently
Old Ben just buried his face in his hands.
Now all of this was with the background tune of little Ahsoka still crying.  Former padawan Obi Wan is the one who reaches her first, and picks her up, smoothly herding Cadet Rex and Child Anakin behind him, away from the adults in the room.  Former Padawan Obi Wan is radiating a vicious, desperate protectiveness.
The movement caused Old Ben to look away from Vader at the rest of the room. His brow furrows. He looks back at Vader, “Do you remember this?”
Vader’s black mask turns to take in the rest of the room, his breath rasps somehow louder than the crying Ahsoka. At last he says ‘I do not’.
Post Empire Rex snorts and says, with an unimpressed deadpan ‘It is probably Force Shit’.
It takes another half hour to get any kind of semblance of calm and start to piece together what is going on. In spite of the fact that neither Old Ben, nor Vader want to admit who they are (for different reasons), no one in the room is actually stupid.
There is a moment when Rex is obligated to give Old Ben shit for the fact that he told Luke that Vader killed Anakin Skywalker, to which Ben responds ‘I was just passing on what he’ points at Vader, ‘told me’.
At another moment Fulcrum throws up her hands and shoes at Old Ben ‘I thought you were dead, again. Why didn’t you tell me you survived.’ Old Ben blinks at her, ‘Leaving aside I also thought you were dead, my dear, for the last decade I have had the single highest bounty in the empire’ Old Ben looks to Vader, who nods solemnly after a moment, ‘I would have thought that would be telling.’ Fulcrum actually pouts and mutters, ‘I thought that was a plan by the Rebellion to draw Vader’s attention.’
There is just…so much trauma in this room. Like it is possible that this group has the highest concentration of trauma in the entire galaxy.
Deserter Cody appears to be having multiple concurrent panic attacks, his face swinging between Old Ben and General Obi Wan almost constantly. Between the residual guilt of having his general shot at, the horror of the long held belief that Cody had caused Obi Wan’s death, the combination of relief and horror at the news of the chip in his head, the combination of relief and confusion at Old Ben (who is proof that Obi Wan Kenobi did not die on Utapau), the confusion of being confronted with two other versions of himself all culminates in the fact that Deserter Cody is going through some things.
ARC Trainer Cody is going through less, mainly horror at the chips. He is also very much a shiny as far as his reactions to the Jedi are concerned.  He is confused at being transported from Kamino, and does not know if he was transported to the future or they were tanspote to the past.  Frankly by all measures ARC trainer Cody is one of the most stable people in the room.
Current Cody is sure that his younger self should not meet any members of Ghost Company on the basis that he would never live it down. He is also facing the horror of the chips, confusion at the triplicatation that is going on. His horror is that much deeper than his younger self because he knows and cares for Obi Wan (Light CodyWan for the win).  He is also quite worried for his older self.
Melida/Daan Obi Wan is still not sure if he is willing to let any of the adults in the room near the other children. He is also doing slightly better with the fact that he grows up to be a general then the fact that he went back to the Jedi. He is also very much a child soldier with all the trauma therein.
Old Ben is not sure if this would be his heaven or his hell. On the one hand he could feel in the Force that he was before Order 66, all the lives he had felt snuff out were alive and well.  On the other hand, there were three Anakins in the room, at least one of which hated him. Also he thought getting beheaded would get him out of dealing with more Skywalker BS.
General Obi Wan Kenobi is more than a little horrified. His connection to the Unified Force means that he is perceiving echoes of Order 66 through the future counterparts AND the variety of trauma that exists in the younger counterparts simultaneously. In addition, both his younger self and Anakin’s younger self are each triggering unresolved trauma.
Padawan Commander Ahsoka Tano is staring at her older self in awe, when she was not staring at Vader in horror. She has also been herded to one corner of the room by Former Padawan Obi Wan, despite the fact that she is 16 to his 14.
Fulcrum makes the decision that she CANNOT deal with the Vader/Anakin revelation at this point and is blocking it out. Instead she is staring at Old Ben. And glancing at her younger self, wondering how much being Anakin’s padawan had damaged her view of the Order.
Little Ahsoka has calmed, now that she was securely held by a warmer than average Cadet Rex.
Post Empire Rex is so, so done. This was supposed to be retirement. Being dragged back to the clone wars is not retirement. It was nice to see Fulcrum again though.
Cadet Rex is the definition of stress. He is not sure what test is going on, nor who these new trainers were but he would not fail.
Captain Rex is not sure what to do with the proof that he would survive the war.  Nor the fate of his general as he stares at the tall black clad being.
Darth Vader, in addition to all the issues he always carries, is looking at his younger self covetously. Had he had a way he would have tried to possess his younger self, who has everything he wants. At the same time he wants to sit this younger version down and tell him exactly how to avoid everything that Vader is (It should be noted that Vader has no idea how to avoid all that Vader is). He is also boiling angry at every version of Obi Wan, though distantly looks at the little angry version and wonders if this was a way to get his brother back.  The knowledge of Luke’s survival is drawing him back toward the single selfless thing he has done in decades, but he is still very much a Sith.
Child Anakin is deeply confused and frankly ecstatic that he hasn’t blown up yet. It is very clear they are not on Tatooine and nowhere near Watto. He is also not impressed that he somehow escaped slavery only to become enslaved again (in his perception Vader is also chip controlled and thus enslaved).
General Anakin Skywalker is freaked out by Vader, who is radiating a weird greed at him, and also by the implications of everything the future people have said. He is also heartbroken over Palpatine being evil (even Vader agrees, in his own way, that Palpatine is evil). Everything strikes deep enough that Anakin actually decided he needed a therapist (There is something about the casual way that Vader talks about torturing Anakin and Padme’s children that cements that decision).
It turns out that the Artifact is the entire temple, so removing it is not feasible.
Like in the original idea, I am not sure if the past and future versions find themselves eventually returning to their own times, or if they are stuck in the present. Though there is something that is amusing about the Jedi now having to deal with three of each of these five people, one of which is a Sith. Particularly since Vader both wants to kill them all and wants to protect them all (to prevent Anakin’s Fall).
It does change so many things though.

IAT – GAR Structure Jedi & Clones (AU)
Worked out this guide for the military structure and number of clone troopers per unit for the GAR & Co.
Most of it is taken from canon, with some details and minor adjustments for the AU :)
General thoughts and overview for the setting are collected in this post (continually updated) – though I might end up making separate posts elaborating on the different points & characters.
Jedi Ranks (GAR)
Council Member -> High General
Master -> General
Knight -> Commander
Senior Padawan -> Major
Padawan -> Captain
Padawans may lead companies when necessary, though it's generally avoided. Exceptions can be made for senior Padawans to command battalions on their own.

Support Personnel
Includes Jedi Guardians, command clones, and trained ARC troopers.
▼ Year 1 estimate GAR count ▼
20,480 Companies = Captains / Majors
5,120 Battalions = Battalion Commanders
1,280 Regiments = Jedi Commanders / Regimental Commanders
320 Brigades = Jedi Generals/Commanders / Senior Commanders
80 Corps = Experienced Jedi Generals / Marshal Commanders
20 Sector Armies = 20 High Jedi Generals
10 Systems Armies = 10 of the 20 High Jedi Generals
Several corps and the personal battalions therein are under direct joint command of clones and Jedi generals overseeing larger units, such as experienced Masters or council members. -> Kenobi oversees the 3rd Systems Army and 3rd Sector Army therein, directly leading the 7th Sky Corps and the 212th Attack Battalion, with Cody as his second-in-command.
Clone commanders of higher rank have a personal battalion they lead on top of the unit they oversee. -> e.g. Cody is the marshal commander of the 7th Sky Corps, while personally commanding the 212th Attack Battalion.
There are always 20 active members on the Jedi High Council – 10 experienced council members are each assigned a systems army, while also responsible for one sector and personally overseeing a corps therein. The remaining members oversee one of the other 10 sectors and command a corps each, as well.
Special Forces
Special task forces comprised of elite clone commandos, trained by Mandalorians. They are capable of carrying out special operations, such as covert infiltration, sabotage, demolition and assassination.
Squad (4)
★ Sergeant -> 3 Troopers
Troop (20)
★ Lieutenant -> 5 Squads
Company (100)
★ Captain -> 5 Troops
Commando Group (500)
★ Commander -> 5 Companies
Special Operations Brigade (10,000)
★ Jedi General -> 20 Commando Groups
Five commando groups were utilized during the battle of Geonosis, of which only a tenth survived as the rest were subsequently killed in a trap laid by Geonosian forces.
Advanced Recon Commandos (600+)
ARC troopers are clones who received additional training by Alpha-class commandos post-Geonosis, turning them into elite soldiers capable of independent and creative thinking on the field. The original Alphas are especially independent and were personally trained by Jango Fett, which greatly influenced their capabilities.
-> 100 Alpha-class Commandos -> 500+ Clone Troopers (Year 1 estimate)
After the initial training of most command clones, only five Alphas would remain on Kamino to continue training a 100 troopers each over the course of three months before deployment. Among them were Alpha-17 and the four ARC commanders of Rancor Battalion.
Homeworld Security Command
Homeworld Security operates differently to the GAR – shock troopers, specialists and elite units are trained on Coruscant for an urban setting and regular contact with the general public. Units are assembled per situation and structured to be split into pairs, including command staff and medics.
Team (4)
★ Corporal -> 3 Troopers
Squad (8)
★ Sergeant -> 2 Teams
Patrol (32)
★ Lieutenant -> 4 Squads
1 Lieutenant + 7 Troopers
3 Sergeants + 21 Troopers

Coruscant Guard (46,670)
The Coruscant Guard ("Corries") are the Coruscant-based specialized branch of HSC – other major Core Worlds are given their own minor Guard and supplemental security. Guard duties are a lot more extensive compared to standard HSC deployed shock troopers, which primarily focus on security and patrols.
★ Marshal Commander Fox ★ Senior Commander Stone ★ Regimental Commander Thorn ★ Regimental Commander Thire (later promotion)
Control Division (16,440)
Security Division (14,990)
Diplomatic Division (15,240)
Commander Stone acts as the default second-in-command of the Coruscant Guard and handles most of the administrative work, while Commander Fox sees more use in operations throughout the city-levels due to his exceptional performance within the Control Division.
Republic Medic Corps (68,904)
Trained clone medics are deployed to all of the other units, typically under the supervision of a (Chief) Medical Officer provided by the Republic Navy or Jedi MedCorps.
-> 1 CMO + 1 MO per 64 Medics -> Medics = ca. 1 per Platoon/36 Troopers

Clone Wars Hospital AU Headcanons
Forgive me my shameless indulgence, but years of working in a hospital has given me Thoughts™ so just for some stupid fun: Welcome to the GHR: the Grand Hospital of the Republic! Where the Jedi are doctors, the clones are nurses, and the padawans are interns
501st battalion: Paediatrics
212th battalion: Maternity
104th battalion: Gen-Med
327th battalion: Orthopedics
Corrie Guard: Emergency Department
Headcanons below:
Paediatrics: Ward 501, Paediatrician Dr Anakin Skywalker
The ward is split on loving or hating Anakin, there's no in between
He's great with the kids though, the patients love him
Rex is the unit manager who has more experience than Anakin despite Anakin “outranking” him
Has to gently steer Anakin back on track and wearily remind him not to make orders just to spite other doctors
Constant happy music playing in the ward, everyone has fun accessories and brightly coloured scrubs
Fives and Echo are the most senior nurses and also the worst influences
Together they can cannulate a kid without them even noticing but also they're the ones shit-talking the annoying/unhelpful parents in the nurses' station five minutes later
If the kids are extra good, Jesse lets them colour in his tattoo
Dogma and Tup are the new grads - Tup is great with the kids, gentle and always gets them smiling, Dogma makes them cry no matter how hard he tries
Kix is NICU-trained and somehow still remembers every single piece of anatomy and physiology from training. Unparallelled medication knowledge. He’s the one all the student nurses want to be paired with
Ahsoka is on her paediatric rotation under Anakin's instruction
She's the intern the nurses give their feedback and requests to when they don't want to talk to Anakin, because they know Anakin will listen to Ahsoka over them
Maternity: Ward 212, Obstetrician Dr Obi-Wan Kenobi
Obi-Wan works closely with Anakin, refers most of his clients there for their child’s care
Anakin did rotations with him in training, Obi-Wan sometimes forgets that he's now a fully registered doctor and will still try to instruct/encourage him
Obi-Wan has borrowed Ahsoka for days in clinic or in the birthing unit, during which time the nurses will spend their entire shift trying to convince her to come to their unit instead
Obi-Wan is beloved by the nurses because he actually asks them for their input, unlike SOME doctors who just give orders (Anakin)
Did you catch him talking to the unit manager after handover this morning?? Hardcore flirting at 7:05am?? Cody was definitely into it
Cody is one of the most involved unit managers - he’s on the floor with the other nurses most days, always staying overtime and pulling double shifts to help keep things running smoothly
Waxer and Boil are considered bad luck charms - whenever they’re rostered on the same shift, things will always go to shit
God forbid either of them mentions it being “nice” or “quiet” on any given day - that just guarantees that three minutes later they’ll have five labouring people come in actively pushing
The two of them once delivered a baby in the parking lot outside because the mother didn’t make it in time - the parents still bring Numa in to visit sometimes
Their nurses have the best stories, sometimes even more gory than ED
General Medical: Ward 104, Physician Dr Plo Koon
Has Dr Plo been here forever?? Nobody at the hospital can remember a time he didn't work here
The best doctor, agreed by all nurses and patients
Keeps offering free check-ups to the nurses on the ward
Brings snacks for the nurses' station
Wolffe is the scariest unit manager there is - grads and students are terrified of him
The unit is the most efficient in the hospital because of it
God help the pathologist who loses a sample from them. He will not hesitate to riskman you
*Over the PA* “Visiting hours finish at 1900. It is now 1902. Get the fuck out.”
Emergency Department: Corrie Guard, lawless wasteland
Boost, Comet and Sinker knew him in training and are immune to his glare, they use this power to constantly fuck with him
Caffeinated to the point of medical concern
Lectures drunk uni students about the dangers of alcohol before finishing night shift at 0730 and going home to drink wine straight from the bottle
If Fox has to triage one more belligerent idiot demanding immediate attention for a stubbed toe he's going to come through the plastic window and throw hands
Take the turkey sandwich and shut the fuck up
Constant arguments with the ward over whether or not the patients are stable enough for ward transfer
Just take the fucking patient Wolffe, they've got enough to deal with down here, they're bed blocked and there's a line out the door
Orthopedics: Ward 327, Orthopedic surgeon Dr Aayla Secura
They all started in sports science
The most jacked nurses
Group gym sessions before or after shifts
I don't care if you're tired. You're getting out of that bed whether you want to or not. Use it or lose it. Mobilise, bitch.
They’re the ones who keep stealing the bladder scanner from gen med but won’t admit to it
If you witnessed the incident between Dr Secura and the unit manager Bly at the last Christmas party, no you didn't
Bonus:
The Bad Batch are agency nurses, they go where they're needed and everyone hates them because they make more on the hour for it
Weird mish-mash of different skills and background knowledge
Will go eat dinner in their car instead of in the break room with the other nurses
Tech will not stop correcting people on the wards he’s put on, he is not popular for this despite mostly being right
“You can’t nurse-initiate that drug.”
“That phone order is invalid. We need to call the doctor for another.”
“The patient’s blood pressure is 135/82. This is technically outside normal parameters.”
Crosshair openly shit talks the other nurses with his patients because he knows he won’t be there tomorrow to catch the fallout

CodyWan week 2024 Day 3
Soulmate au (Sharing Injuries)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Obi-Wan was 1 he was given to the Jedi Order, the concept of a soulmate wasn’t necessarily forbidden but was frowned upon, but Obi-Wan was too young to even know the concept or even why they would be frowned upon
When Obi-Wan was 5 he learned what a soulmate was, they weren’t always romantic, half the time they were platonic, it was extremely unlikely to even meet as the entire galaxy was a potential option, some people had known their soulmate for years before even realising. As quickly as he learned of the concept he learned why it was frowned upon, as the undivided loyalty one feels towards the soulmate falls in contrast to one of the main testaments of the order, the one that forbade attachments, as the order had to come first in a Jedi’s life, nothing more.
When Obi-Wan was 16 he became Qui-Gon’s padawan, and his slow change from rebellious youngling to a rebellious to his master, who himself was rebellious of the order, began. Obi-Wan had resigned himself to the face that he was a outlier and would never have a soulmate, it was easier to admit that than having the live with the knowledge of having to turn away his soulmate eventually
When Obi-Wan was 25 his master died and he was suddenly thrust into being a Jedi Master to Anakin, a child, his grief over Qui-Gon changed Obi-Wan, he was willing to trust but to put his love into another person, let alone a soulmate, which he didn’t have.
When Obi-Wan was 34 he started noticing injuries that weren’t from him, it was a strange feeling, the injured part would feel tingly before falling numb until the wound healed, Obi-Wan could only guess they were in a dangerous profession as the range of injuries were far too disconnected for a normal person, one day when he was walking through the gardens of the Jedi Temple with Anakin, they were late to some meeting or whatever, but in a short span of time Obi-Wan felt the hit of a stun blaster and fainted onto the soft dirt.
When Obi-Wan was 35 The Clone Wars started, after the battle of Geonosis he was told that the Jedi would be joining the war effort and commanding armies to fight the droid armies and keep the peace, this is when he met the 212th. When he met Cody
They became friends fast, they could move around the battlefield with ease, knowing where the other was instinctively. It was part of the reason why Obi-Wan’s lightsaber ended up attached to Cody’s belt by the end of battle. They shared similar injuries by the end of battle but Obi-Wan never fully thought about it.
One day the 212th was stationed on Trandosha, there were reports of bandit and bounty hunters harassing the locals, the battalion was simply a deterrent, to prevent fighting. But then the faint feeling of numbness trickled from his forehead to around his left eye, he moved his hand up to his face, it was wet, looking back at his hand he saw the familiar red shine of blood, the injury quickly was cauterised. Obi-Wan’s soulmate was clearly not in a safe environment.
When Obi-Wan was 35 he saw Cody, with a fresh scar, the same one that appeared randomly on his face, a little while earlier, when the Squad of troopers came back to the base, they looked at Obi-Wan and promptly looked away, walking at a brisk pace to the barracks, leaving Cody, his hemet was off, resting on his hip, broken and busted, his face had a cauterised wound around his eye.
When Obi-Wan was 48 he was still getting the occasional bruises and injuries, it was one of the only comforts in his monotonous life, that Cody was alive, probably with the empire, one of the many stormtroopers, but alive.
When Cody was 32, well he looked like he was in his 60s, he was on Yavin 4, joining the rebellion against the empire after the failed clone rebellion. There weren’t many clones left, most went into hiding, wanting to escape the war and stop fighting. A small group of them joined the rebellion to end the empire and bring back democracy, it was a part of the coding in their brains to be loyal to the long dead Republic and democracy. Cody was sitting in the dining hall with his brothers when he felt the burn of a lightsaber in his side before his body went numb, but he knew what that meant.

It’s Not Your fault
Anakin (x Padme) + Daughter! Reader
So, this is something different from what I normally write because I am usually an x Reader type of writer only but this idea popped into my head and I couldn’t let it slip away.
This is another AU where the war has gone on a lot longer than the clone wars canonically is. Anakin and Padme have another daughter before Luke and Leia and she is the same age as Ahsoka. She is Obi-wan’s padawan (like father, like daughter) and the council knows about Anakin and Padme. (Don’t try and work out the time line, for the sake of the story don’t question it🤣)
Metric is my, I guess, OC! Medic for the 212th. This is also a story where Echo didn’t die at the citadel. Yes Obi-wan and Cody are a couple in this story, ANY HATE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! You will be blocked and bared from my account.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy!
Warning: 18+ ANGSTY AF, near death experience, wounds, blood, gunshots, General grevious is a coward, tears, self doubt, insecurity, feelings of failure, hurt/comfort, canon-typical violence, happy ending, the force works how I need it, Anakin and Padme have a healthy relationship.
Words: 6.3k
Tumblr media Tumblr media
—————
Frail, fragile, pale and lifeless
The only words to describe how she looked laying on the bed in the med bay. A ventilator and a heart monitor, hooked up to the wall as well as her. Her once vibrant blue and brown eyes, the ones she got from her parents, were now hidden beneath her eye lids. Her once long, tame, soft brown hair was now tousled and hidden under a bandage.
Her injuries were bad. Even after three rounds in a bacta tank, she still had not woken up and it’s been almost a week. Anakin sat beside her in a chair, his hands folded and eyes closed, meditating and trying to figure out what to do.
Padme had not been able to visit yet, with everything happening in the senate until this point. Anakin had been here for more time then he should have been but it was his daughter laying in that bed.
The council knew of the relationship between the three but had let it slide on grounds that no one had done anything to harm the order or the republic. After the news broke, the council had taken a deeper look into the order. They found that half the Jedi of the order including certain members of the high council had broken the code. It was a scandal really, but because they could not just expel half the order, the code was amended and changed to allow for attachments.
The only condition to that new rule was that the attachments will not interfere with the Jedi’s business. Thus far, not many Jedi had taken advantage of this new found freedom. Some had, and it had not affected their work at all. Even Master Windu had begun to see someone and he seemed a lot happier and more relaxed.
The accident had happened on a mission with the 212th and 501st together.
~Flashback~
Obi-wan and (Y/N) had been fighting Grevious while Anakin and Ahsoka had been gather intel. There was a scream from behind (Y/N), Cody being hit by a stray shot from a clanker.
“Cody!” (Y/N) screamed and that split second distraction allowed Grevious the upper hand.
He separated him left arm, pulling one more lightsaber from his back and turning it on. Obi-wan noticed a little too late and couldn’t warn his padawan before the blade found its way through her midsection.
Everything seemed to slow down as (Y/N) looked down at where she had been impaled. There was pain, but it felt so dull. The lightsaber retracted before (Y/N) was thrown by Grevious, hitting a near by rock and falling face first into the grass.
“(Y/N)!!” Obi-wan screamed. His padawan lying there lifeless. There was a collective roar from the 212th and 501st as they watched their commander be tossed around like a rag doll, the clones all pushing themselves more. The droids began falling faster then flys in mist, being driven back by the ferocity of the clones battalions.
Grevious watched as his army was decimated, the clones advancing as the remaining droids retreated. Now it was Grevious turn to get distracted, Obi-wan taking advantage of this fact and moving faster than lightning, chopping off one of Grevious arms from the joint.
Grevious yelled and stepped back, using his unharmed arm to try and block Obi-wan’s strikes. As Grevious looked at Obi-wan, he noted that there was no emotion in the Jedi’s eyes. His eyes were dull and he moved with a determination that Grevious had only seen from Dooku. That frightened the droid army’s leader, causing him to withdraw from the frey and run, his evacuation shuttle landing a few feet away.
“Until we meet again Kenobi!” Grevious laughed as the shuttle flew away, the droid army withdrawing its forces. Obi-wan watched for a moment longer before he retracted his saber and ran to where his padawan had landed. Kix and Metric, the 212th medic were already there, tending to (Y/N) as fast as they could.
Obi-wan came to a sliding stop, dropping to his knees next to his padawan. There were no words exchanged as more of the 212th and 501st gathered around, knowing that their friend was fighting for her life.
“Come on vod’ika. You’re not dying on us now,” Kix muttered, doing everything he could to save the generals daughter. Her eyes were open and trained on Obi-wan, her hand slowly inching toward his. Obi-wan immediately took her hand, gently cradling it in his own. His eyes were tearing up as he looked at his padawan, her eyes conveying acceptance.
Obi-wan shook his head, silently pleading with (Y/N) to stay awake as his com went off, Anakin’s hologram popping up.
“Hey master! We got the intel and are on our way back… what’s wrong?” Anakin started, his positive attitude turning sour as soon as he saw his masters tears.
“Anakin…” Obi-wan whispered and his former appearance knew almost immediately.
“No!! No no no,” Anakin yelled as he began running, the muffled voices of Ahsoka, Rex, Fives and Echo following him.
“D-dad…” the strained voice of his daughter coming through the com.
“(Y/N) stay awake! That’s an order! You’re not allowed to die on me you hear. Your mother would never let me live it down. I’d never let myself live it down,” Anakin said frantically as he ran like he never had before, pushing himself harder than ever. “I’m almost there honey. Don’t you go anywhere,” He continued as his hologram disappeared.
(Y/N) smiled at Obi-wan, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. She managed to mouth the words, ‘it’s not your fault,’ as Kix placed a breathing mask over her face, Metric doing what he could to stitch up the wound as the medvac finally arriving. (Y/N)’s hand went limp and her eyes closed as she was lifted onto the stretcher, the medical staff quickly taking her the gunship. Anakin came to a stop outside of the gunship as the doors closed, taking off immediately.
Obi-wan sat there on his knees, his thoughts running wild as tears streamed down his face. Cody came up next to him, his shoulder having been patched up. Waxer and Cody tried to help Obi-wan to his feet as Anakin came over, but their general made no effort to stand.
“What happened?” Anakin asked as calmly as he could, Rex and Ahsoka coming over as well. They had been filled in on the situation by Boil, both of them terrified for their friend.
“She got distracted,” Obi-wan whispered and tilted his head back, blinking rapidly to try and get the tears out of his eyes. “Grevious took advantage of her distracted state and…he..” Obi-wan couldn’t finish his sentence, the grief overwhelming him.
Anakin looked down at his feet, his fists clenched and eyes burning with tears. Before he did anything too rash he turned away from Obi-wan and began walking towards the gunships.
Anakin wasn’t angry at Obi-wan, the tensions of the battle were high and there were so many variables. Anakin wasn’t even angry at any of the clones, he was angry at himself. For not being there to protect his daughter, for not being there to keep her safe. With his head bowed and tears running down his cheeks as he walked, all he could think about was how he failed.
He needed to be with his daughter.
“MOVE OUT!” Anakin’s voice boomed over the field, the remaining 501st troopers standing at attention and walking towards the gunships coming to get them. Obi-wan stayed still for a little while longer before Waxer and Boil each took hold of one of his arms, helping him towards the gunships. Cody ordered the rest of the battalion to follow, making their way over to the gunships.
Cody entered the gunship that Obi-wan, Waxer and Boil entered, the four men being the only ones in this particular gunship. Waxer and Boil sat Obi-wan down on a crate, moving away to let him have some space. Cody came over to Obi-wan, kneeling down in front of him and taking his hands in his own
“I failed her, Cody,” Obi-wan whispered, resting his forehead on Cody’s shoulder. Tears continued to stream down his face, his mind racing and heart pounding. Cody nodded in understanding, his helmet long forgotten in the other corner of the gunship. He placed one of his hands on Obi-wan’s head, the other remaining by his side still in a little pain from being shot.
“There was nothing you could’ve done, Ben,” Cody said softly and Obi-wan’s eyes closed at the sound of the name. “(Y/N) knew the risks. And I’m sorry I got shot and distracted her. It was my fault,” Cody said, tears gathering in his eyes. Obi-wan shook his head and lifted it, looking into Cody’s eyes.
“It was not your fault Cody. Do not dare place this burden on your shoulders,” Obi-wan said and Cody looked away, catching Waxer and Boil’s eyes as they nodded along to their generals words.
“I will try my best not to general but I can’t help but feel partially responsible,” Cody said and Obi-wan pulled his face closer, laying their foreheads together.
“Please do not blame yourself my love. Please I can not bare it,” Obi-wan replied, hearing Cody sigh and close his eyes. They took in this rare moment of affection, even if there were others around. The moment was unfortunately interrupted by Waxer who cleared his throat.
“I’m sorry to you both for interrupting but we’re coming up on the cruiser now. Kix has already moved (Y/N) to a bacta tank and for now she’s stable,” Waxer said, a sigh of relief falling from Obi-wan and Cody’s lips.
“Thank you Waxer,” Cody said and stood up to retrieve his helmet, stopping short when he felt a hand grip his wrist. Cody turned back to Obi-wan, a pleading looking in the Jedi’s eyes for him to stay. Cody smiled softly and came back over to Obi-wan, cradling the generals head against his stomach.
“I’m not going anywhere Ben. And neither is (Y/N). She’s a fighter and she will make it through this,” Cody said and scratched at Obi-wan’s scalp. Giving him a massage to ease some of the tension from the battle. Obi-wan could only nod as all four of them felt the gunship slowly descend into the cruiser. Cody bent down and gave Obi-wan a gentle kiss to the top of his head before reluctantly pulling away. The latter made a soft noise of protest but didn’t push any further as the doors opened.
~ With Anakin~
The ride to the cruiser was quiet, no one wanted to speak and disrupt the already tense atmosphere of the gunship. Rex and Ahsoka stood with Fives and Echo on one side as Anakin sat on the other side with his head and his hands. Even with the small space of the ship, the Arc troopers and captain wanted to give their general as much space as possible. It was his daughter who got hurt after all.
Ahsoka was more reluctant to stay away, not wanting to see her master fall down a path of grief and distress. She had an idea of what he was going through, her best friend had almost been killed but she was not a parent. She didn’t understand what that was like. Seeing her master sit there with his head down and silent, she looked towards Rex for any hint of what she should do. However, Rex’s eyes were downcast as well, trying his best to hold himself strong.
Ahsoka turned back to Anakin and walked over to him, sitting next to him and gently taking his hand. No words were exchanged but Anakin responded in his own way, resting his head against Ahsoka’s. He gave her hand a squeeze, showing his appreciation for her presence.
“I have to tell Padme,” Anakin said, his voice so quiet she almost missed it. Ahsoka sighed softly and nodded, understanding that the senator needed to know about what happened.
“That can wait, for now, just breathe. Please,” Ahsoka said, no demand or malice in her voice. All she wanted was for her master to stop and process, even if it was difficult because of the situation.
“I-I failed her Snips. She’s my daughter and I failed to protect her,” Anakin whispered, no matter how much rage he was feeling, grief and sadness overwhelmed him even more.
“She’ll pull through Skyguy, I know she will,” Ahsoka reassure her master, positive that (Y/N) would be okay. “She’s too stubborn to stop fighting,” Ahsoka continued, giving Anakin’s hand another squeeze. That got a small forced chuckle out of Anakin, his hand falling limp now.
“She gets it from her mother,” Anakin said and Ahsoka laughed. She nodded and looked to Rex, Fives and Echo, whose eyes were trained on the duo. There were smiles on their faces as they watched Ahsoka bring Anakin’s mood up just a little, but it was something.
“I think she also gets it from her father,” Fives added and Anakin chuckled again, lifting his head a little and giving Fives a look.
“Stow it trooper,” Anakin said, though his word were playful because he knew the Arc trooper was right. (Y/N) had two very stubborn parents so she wouldn’t go down that easily. “Thank you guys,” he finished and squeezed Ahsoka’s hand one finally time before slowly letting it go, trying to stand up. Echo and Fives came over to help, Rex pulling Ahsoka to her feet.
“I’m sure she’ll pull through general. Our vod’ika is a tough one to crack,” Rex said and Anakin gave his captain a small smile, knowing that the captain’s words were true.
(Y/N) was a sister to all the clones. They all treated her with such respect not just because she was a generals daughter, but because she treated them like human beings. She treated them like people and not objects. She had a special bond with the 501st and the 212th, both being units she worked along side so well. She was an extremely bubbly, beautiful and kindhearted Jedi, her heart big and determination unmatched. They were all sure she would be okay.
“I need to tell Padme,” Anakin said again, his mood quickly falling once again at the idea of telling his wife about what happened to their daughter. The tears came back again and began running down his cheeks, his anger and sadness off the situation overwhelming.
“Do you want me to be with you,” ahsoka offered and Rex, Fives and Echo stepped up as well, wanting to support their general in any way possible. Anakin only nodded as he took out his personal commlink, pressing the centre button and placing it on the floor. It beeped for a moment before Padme’s hologram came to life, a smile on her face before she noticed the tears running down Anakin’s cheeks.
“What wrong Ani?” She asked immediately and before Anakin could even get the words out, the tears began to run faster down his cheeks. His fell immediately and Padme’s worry ramped up to a new level.
“Anakin what’s wrong?” She asked again and Ahsoka took her master’s hand as Rex came to stand next to his general on the other side.
“It’s (Y/N), senator. She was injured during our battle,” Rex said, ripping the bandaid off no matter how painful it was to watch Padme’s face turn panicked. Her eyes darted to Anakin who looked at her with so much regret and sadness. Padme turned away from the hologram for a moment and nodded to someone behind her. There was another moment of silence before she turned back, tears now gathered in her eyes.
“H-How bad?” Padme asked, voice cracking as she watched her husband break down.
“We’re not sure ma’am,” Echo spoke up, pulling Padme’s attention away from Anakin for the moment. She turned to face the two Arc troopers who had stayed quiet until now.
“Our medic Kix and Metric, the 212th medic went with her when the medvac came. As of right now she’s in a bacta tank and stable but that’s all we know right now,” Echo finished, bowing his head in apology to the senator.
“Thank you, Echo,” Padme said and turned back to Anakin. He was leaning against Rex, Ahsoka trying her best to be there for support as well. Padme found Anakin’s eyes and called his name softly. His eyes met hers and behind them there was no negativity or anger, only understanding and compassion.
“It’s not your fault Ani. I promise you that,” she said and that caused Anakin to break down a little more, shaking his head and trying to disagree. “Don’t fight me on this,” she continued and Anakin’s eyes met hers again, hoping that he would find some comfort in them. “She knew the risk. We all did. And I know she’ll pull through. She your daughter after all, stubborn man,” Padme finished and that got a laugh out of all of them present on the gunship.
“That’s what we all told him ma’am,” Fives piped up and Padme giggled, knowing that her husband was in good hands. Anakin managed to compose himself long enough to stand on his own. He turned to face his wife again, wiping his eyes with his robe sleeve.
“I failed her Padme. I didn’t protect like I promised I would,” he said, self doubt and insecurity seeping into his mind. Padme shook her head and raised her right hand, looking at Anakin expectantly. Anakin sighed and raised his left, placing it against Padme’s as if she was there.
“Anakin Skywalker,” she started and everyone knew she was serious. Anakin met her eyes once more and the love in them overwhelmed his senses for a moment, calming him down and allowing him to breathe.
“I want you to repeat after me okay?” She said and Anakin nodded.
“It is not your fault.”
“It is not my fault.”
“Again.”
“It’s not my fault.”
“Good, now I want you to be with her and keep telling her that you’re there for her. Rest and be with her and I will try my best to come visit once you return to Coruscant okay?” Padme said and Anakin nodded before turning to look at the others in the gunship.
“Thank you all for looking out for him. Keep doing it,” she said and everyone nodded before Padme smiled at Anakin.
“I love you Ani,” she said and lifted her hand again, Anakin instinctively raising his again and connecting them.
“I love you too,” he replied before her hologram disappeared. Just as the hologram disappeared, The gunship came to a slow descent into the hanger, Anakin took a deep breath as the gunship doors opened.
Anakin quickly took off toward the medbay, knowing the way there off the top of his head. He passed by Obi-wan’s gunship as it touched down, not having time to spare a glance at him master. He needed to get to (Y/N). He ran down the winding halls, caming to a stop outside the door as two 501st stood at attention. Anakin nodded to them before the doors opened to reveal the medbay, the white walls were unsettling. He scanned the room before his eyes landed on the other door that lead to the Bacta tanks. He made his way over just as Kix and Metric came out.
“How is she?” Anakin asked, taking a moment to catch his breath, Kix and Metric gave each other a nod before Metric left, Kix beckoning Anakin to follow him.
“She stable for now general,” Kix said as they made their way into the room. There in one of the four bacta tanks was (Y/N), having been stripped down to her underwear tunic and leggings. There was a clear hole in her stomach, one that Anakin could almost see right through. The sight almost brought him to his knees, but Kix kept him upright.
“Oh my god,” Anakin whisper, not being able to his eyes off his daughter. She looked so fragile and pale. Kix held onto Anakin and they neared the tank, helping his general as much as he could. Anakin slowly lifted his hand to the glass of the tanks, placing it there and trying to convey through the force that he was there. Once Kix was sure Anakin would fall over, he took a step back.
“I’ll leave you be General. If you need anything just give me a call,” Kix said and Anakin nodded, thanking his Medic before he walked out. Anakin was now left alone with (Y/N) and his thoughts. The self doubt began to creep in again, his mind swirling and his insecurities coming back.
“I’m so sorry (Y/N). I failed you, and now you’re hurt because of me. It’s my fault,” Anakin whispered as he rested his forehead on the glass next to his hand. The only response he got was the steady beeping of the monitor, telling him that you were alive. That was the only comfort he found at the moment, knowing you were alive by the beeping of the monitor. It wasn’t much, but it was something.
Just then the doors opened and Obi-wan walked in slowly, not wanting to disturb the atmosphere of the room. Anakin turned his head slightly to acknowledge his master before he went back to looking at (Y/N), praying that she would open her eyes.
Obi-wan walked up to Anakin and stood beside him, his eyes landing on his Padawan.
“She looks so peaceful,” Obi-wan whispered, his voice filled with worry.
“Too peaceful almost,” Anakin responded, his voice just as quiet.
“I’m so sorry Anakin.”
“I know. But it’s not your fault master.”
“It’s not yours either, my friend.”
“Everyone keeps saying that. But I don’t feel like it’s true,” Anakin said with a sigh. He couldn’t bring himself out of his turmoil, his mind racing. His anger was rising, but so was the defeat. He felt like a failure.
“Anakin,” Obi-wan began, taking his former apprentices hands in his own. Anakin looked conflicted, like he wanted to put away but refrained, knowing that he needed his master now. “This burden is not on you. It is squarely on that coward Grevious. He is who did this and he is the one who will die in the end,” Obi-Wan’s words held so much venom that Anakin was taken aback, only ever hearing such Venomous words spoke by himself.
“Master,” Anakin started but Obi-wan held up his hand, indicating that he was not yet finished.
“I know she is your daughter and that you blame yourself for this tragedy but it is not your fault. Grevious is to blame and I will make him pay. He will suffer far worse than we are suffering right now, and I will make sure of it,” Obi-wan finally finished, his eyes dark and the aura around him clouded. Anakin, for once in his life, was scared of what Obi-wan would do. This was not like his master at all.
“Obi-wan please,” Anakin pleaded and pulled his former master into a hug, holding him as if he was a lifeline. Obi-wan’s heart beat was erratic and his breath came out in short bursts, his forehead burning up and his eyes dark with rage. This was different side of him. Before Anakin could comfort his master more, there was a rapid beeping that brought both men out of their conversation. Their eyes snapped up to the bacta tank that (Y/N) was in and could see she was convulsing. Kix and Metric quickly ran in along with a few other Medics as they rushed to get (Y/N) out of the tank.
“What’s happening?” Obi-wan questioned, panic clear on his face as Anakin stood frozen.
“General, you need to leave,” one of the medics said and stood in front of Anakin and Obi-wan as Kix and Metric got (Y/N) out of the tank.
“What’s going on?” Obi-wan asked again, this time his voice was demanding, scaring the medic in front of them a little but he stood his ground.
“I’m going to have to ask you both to leave,” he said again, his voice more firm.
“That’s my daughter, I can’t,” Anakin said, his voice pleading. Cody and Rex came rushing in as well, each standing next to their generals.
“Captain, commander, you need to take your generals now,” the medic said, turning to look at Kix and Metric who were now performing CPR.
“I’m not leaving my daughter!” Anakin yelled, his anger palpable and his worry clear. Rex gently grabbed hold of his arms, Ahsoka rushing is as she heard the yelling.
“Ben, we have to leave,” Cody said quietly and Obi-wan shook his head, shaking off Cody’s hands as her took hold his arms the same way Rex did with Anakin.
“Leave now! Let us do our job to save the commander!” Another one of the medics yelled. It took more struggling than anticipated but Cody, Rex and Ahsoka eventually managed to get the two Jedi out of the room and to the resting area.
~End Flashback~
It had been a scary feeling not knowing what was going on but Kix and Metric had been able to get (Y/N) back. Anakin had been on the verge of a panic attack as he could feel his daughter’s life force slipping away but he reached her through the force and begged her not to accept it.
He could feel her life force returning slowly, fighting as much as she could. It was another hour or so before Kix and Metric came out to give the news. Having let the other medics take over. Anakin and Obi-wan had both breathed a sigh of relief when they were informed, Obi-wan collapsing into Cody’s arms and Anakin falling to his knees. There was more waiting but eventually (Y/N) was brought to the resting area with a heart monitor, IV, breathing mask and many more wires and machines.
Obi-wan had left after the second day in the medbay, not being able to bare the sigh of his padawans struggling. Anakin had stayed put. Only leaving to shower but even then he used the medbay showers only while Rex or Ahsoka were there to take over watch.
They had arrived back on Coruscant on the third day, (Y/N) being rushed to the halls of healing at the temple and placed back into a bacta tank. She was taken out again on the fourth day and ever since, she had been laying in the bed to rest ever since. The monitors and machines as well as the IV had been reconnected but now it was up to (Y/N) to pull through.
Anakin had stayed here for almost a week straight, not wanting to be away from his daughter. Master Yoda had allowed it even with the protest of Master Windu and Master Mundi. Anakin was greatful for the grandmasters kindness and lenience, making sure to thank him as much as he could. Master Yoda only smiled and nodded before he turned to walk away, Anakin being left alone with (Y/N).
Obi-wan had come to visit not long ago but he was called to a council meeting and then shipped off to find Grevious. The council had no idea how angry Obi-wan was in this moment, even for a Jedi who never let his emotions cloud his judgement, he was seething. He was ready to kill Grevious and Anakin knew it.
His thoughts were interrupted when the doors to (Y/N)’s room slid open and Padme came rushing in, coming to Anakin first and hugging him from behind. Anakin immediately melted into his wife’s arms, his tears coming back as he looked to (Y/N) lying lifeless on her bed.
“I failed her Padme,” he whispered, feeling Padme’s arms tighten their hold.
“You didn’t fail her Ani. This is not your fault at all and she knows it. She knows that this is no one’s faulted but the separatists,” Padme said but her words fell on mostly deaf ears.
“She been in and out of the force three times since the accident and I haven’t been able to do anything but beg her not to give in,” Anakin said and Padme gasped, not knowing what to say. The thought of Anakin fighting with their daughter to keep fighting was heart breaking. Padme came to kneel in front of Anakin, taking his face in her hand and forcing him to look at her.
“Ani,” Padme pleaded and Anakin looked into her eyes, finding only love and adoration. “She’s your daughter. I know she won’t give up. She’s strong and capable and she will pull through. I know she will,” she encouraged and Anakin’s eyes drifter to (Y/N). He took hold of Padme’s wrist gently and stood from the chair he had been sitting in, pulling Padme up with him. He brought her closer to the bed and Padme was horrified at how pale (Y/N)’s usually surmised face was. Tears pricked her eyes as she looked at her daughter, her hands cold and chest moving slowly.
“She looks so peaceful,” Anakin said and Padme nodded, taking (Y/N)’s hand in her own. She held it between her hand and Anakin’s hand, hoping to convey the warmth of a parents love.
“(Y/N),” Padme spoke quietly, using her other hand to brush some of the hair out of (Y/N)’s face. “It’s mom and dad… we’re here for you. We’ll always be here for you, no matter what you choose to do,” Padme’s words hit Anakin like a speeder, his eyes closing as he listened to his wife speak softly to their unconscious daughter.
“You’ve always been a strong, smart, amazing kid with a heart of gold and a soul so warm it can turn even the hearts of the coldest people soft. Even if you’re stubborn sometimes, you’re so sweet and fun to be around. Everyone you meet is drawn in and they all want to be around you because of the friendly Aura you give off. We all love you (Y/N) and we want you here (Y/N),” Padme finished speaking and Anakin wrapped his other arm around her, Holding her as they continued to just be present with (Y/N).
~Time Skip~
It was a few hours later when Anakin felt a tugging in his mind, a signature pulling at his own. He had returned to the chair he had sat in while Padme had pulled up another one to sit next to him. They had stayed like that for a little before Padme left to get them some food. She had been gone for about twenty minutes now but all Anakin could focus on was the pull of the force.
He could feel warmth and love curling around his force signature, like a hug on a cold day. He looked over to (Y/N)’s bed and saw that her head had tilted slightly towards him, eyes still closed. However, her breathing had began to speed up to a more normal pace, her heart rate on the monitor beginning to level out as well. Anakin sat up straighter, moving his chair closer to (Y/N)’s bed so that he could hold her hand.
“Sweetheart?” Anakin asked quietly and he felt another small tug against his mind. His eyes went wide and he brought (Y/N)’s hand closer, clasping it in both of his own and closing his eyes. He focused all of his energy on her signature in the force. What was once a fading consciousness was now visible connection, strong and unwavering.
Anakin grasped onto (Y/N) in the force, holding onto her like he was her life line and in this case, he had been.
“It’s not your fault dad,” he could hear (Y/N) say to him through the force and that brought Anakin to tears again. He sobbed as he felt her signature hug his own, a light illuminating them in the force together.
Anakin’s hand tightened their grip on (Y/N)’s, remaining firm yet gentle as his eyes opened. The sight that greeted him made him cry out in joy. (Y/N)’s eyes slowly opened and found her fathers own vibrant blue eyes, the tears continuing to fall.
(Y/N) smiled from under the breathing mask, taking a deep inhale and exhale as she looked at her father. With as much strength as she could muster, she squeezed his hand in, indicating to him that she was alright. Anakin laughed and brought her hand to his lips, giving it a kiss before he brought out his comm. Padme responded almost immediately, he voice coming through a little panicked.
“Is everything okay Ani? What’s wrong,” She asked and could only register a sob from Anakin before he spoke the words that made her almost drop the food she had gotten for them.
“She’s awake,” Anakin whispered, keeping his eyes on (Y/N) who smiled and nodded. There was no verbal response from the other end, only the sound of rapid footsteps as Padme ran through the halls of the temple back to the halls of healing.
“I’m almost there,” she said and Anakin spoke a gentle ‘okay’ before he ended the transmission. A minute later the doors slid open and Padme rushed, making her way to (Y/N)’s other side.
“Honey?” Padme asked and (Y/N) slowly angled her head in Padme’s direction, reaching her hand out for her mother to take. She quickly got the hint and took hold of her daughter’s hand, giving it a squeeze as tears of joy pricked her eyes.
“You’re okay!” Padme exclaimed happily and (Y/N) nodded as best she could, returning the squeeze that Padme had given her. Anakin and Padme made eyes contact with one another, their faces lit up with happiness at finally having their daughter back with them. Anakin pushed one of the buttons on the wall by (Y/N)’s bed to request a medic to their room, wanting to make sure (Y/N) was really okay.
The Jedi medic walked in a few minutes later, followed by Master Yoda. Anakin and Padme stepped away from (Y/N) bed as the medic got to work, closing the curtains around the bed to give them privacy. The couple turned to the grandmaster and bowed in respect, Yoda smiling at them.
“Happy I am, to see young (Y/N) is alright,” He said, smiling as Anakin brought Padme closer to him.
“So are we, Master Yoda,” Padme said. Anakin remained quiet, thinking over everything that had happened in the last week and a bit. Master Yoda could sense that Anakin was still spiralling, grappling with his emotions and the fact that he almost lost his daughter.
“Young Skywalker, loud your thoughts are. Sense your turmoil I can. Nothing to fear have you, safe (Y/N) is,” the grandmaster said and Anakin sighed, knowing that he couldn’t hide much from the wise elder.
“I know master. It’s just been a very stressful week,” Anakin said, feeling anxious before Padme took hold of one of his hands and gave it a reassuring squeeze.
“Stressful yes. Blame yourself, you do, yet you should not,” Master Yoda continued and Anakin hung his head.
“You’re the tenth? Or so person to tell me that but I still feel responsible,” Anakin quipped. Master Yoda just looked at him before shaking his head slightly.
“Say something that should, that no one, not even (Y/N), blame you for this,” Master Yoda reiterated to Anakin. The Jedi knight took a deep breathe before he met the gaze of the grand master, then Padme who looked at him with love and adoration. His eyes fell to the curtains around (Y/N)’s bed, knowing that his daughter was in there receiving what help she needed. Before Anakin could respond to master Yoda, the curtains were pulled back by the Jedi medic.
There, sat up slightly with the help of the bed was (Y/N), a smile on her face. Her skin looked to have more colour in it, her eyes shining once again and her hair having been placed into a high ponytail. Her eyes met Anakin’s and she gave a him an even bigger smile.
“Dad..” (Y/N) said and Anakin rushed over to her, pulling her into a very gentle hug, being mindful of her still fragile and injured body.
“Sweetheart, are you okay?” Anakin asked. (Y/N) nodded and gave Anakin a squeeze and a kiss on the cheek.
“I’m okay dad. I promise,” she said. Anakin gave a big sigh of relief and sat down in the chair that had remained next to her bed. Padme came over as well and sat on the other side, taking one of (Y/N)’s hands. (Y/N) turned to her mom and gave her hand a squeeze.
“Hi mom.”
“Hi honey. I’m glad you’re okay,” Padme said.
“I know mom. Have you told dad it’s not his fault?” she asked making Padme giggle, as she looked pointedly at her husband.
“I have and so has everyone else but he still doesn’t believe it,” Padme said.
“Hey, he’s right here!” Anakin said exasperatedly and the women giggled.
Master Yoda smiled at the family of three and made his way out of the room, knowing that Anakin would eventually come to terms with how this situation was not his fault.
—————
There we go! I hope this was enjoyable for you readers out there! This is something different from my normal and I’m actually very happy with how it turned out!
With this story I wanted to make Anakin less angry and a little more sad and doubtful of himself. Chop it up to him having a daughter he loves and cares for.
See you guys soon!

Meeting the 501st
Carrying on from my Force of Nature AU post where I mash the TV show Primal (Genndy Tartakovsky) with the Star Wars prequels, Anakin has crash landed on a hostile planet and is now a feral amnesiac. He’s half-force and he’s going to use that to his benefit to survive this place.
So, years after Anakin has forgotten everything about himself, the Clone Wars are in full swing, the Galaxy is ready to tear itself apart, and both Dooku and the Jedi Council have taken notice of a very biologically active planet that has a bright star of a force signature on it. A force signature that could sway the tide of battle. Is there a nexus point on that planet or is it a person?
Both sides obviously don’t want the other to get it and use it against them so Obi-Wan, his padawan Ahsoka, and the 212th/501st go to the planet to check it out. (The 501st are kind of a satellite Legion that attach onto other Jedi led Battalions as and when needed… they are claiming Ahsoka as their Jedi if the war is still going when she's Knighted.) Expecting resistance from the Separatists, they don’t really anticipate the planet itself to resist them.
They soon realise this planet is hellish and the less men they have on the ground the better. Miasma fog that disorientate you and alter your memories, entire forests that move to grab ships flying overhead and bring them down to the forest floor for carnivorous fungi to feed upon, a crimson moon that crests over the horizon inciting predators to swarm and hunt on mass.
Rex says he can handle this with just Torrent and he’ll keep in regular comms with General Kenobi who is probably needed elsewhere more. Obi-Wan wants to stay, because hot damn does that force signature feel familiar but it can’t be, Anakin has been missing/dead for 4 years, and he can’t keep his priorities in order. So he leaves Ahsoka with them to keep an eye on the Force signature (that's been moving) but so far it’s keeping to the dense jungle that seems to take up half the planet. They set up camp and wait, feeling very creeped out by all the life on this planet that wants to eat and kill everything else and not seeing any clankers. Ahsoka's hackles are raised near constantly.
Fives: This is like Umbara all over again Echo: Don’t.
I’m gonna say all the boys are here because I want them to be and having only Obi-Wan lead them would have changed which battles they went to and how they fought them etc. (Also no Krell, because that guy can choke). The legions would have been shuffled around as there is one less Jedi General (who could pull a win out of his ass) to send off to different campaigns. Whenever Obi-Wan isn’t actively giving orders, he just lets Rex and Cody team up to do what they do best tbh. Rex wasn’t made a Captain of the most elite trooper calibre for no reason and there are three additional ARCs in Torrent.
They are shocked to discover that there are actually people living here but they are kept neat and secure behind their fortified walls. Tiny civilisations that strive to keep the nightmares out, by any means possible with vastly different lifestyles. You’ve got the witches who steal the life force of others to create more of their own, the humanoids who live exclusively underground to keep out of sight from aerial predators, and the more advanced communities who Do Not Leave their borders that they’ve made safe.
So the boys do similarly, making camp in a sort of fort - electrified fences, flood lights, constant fires, etc - and they are keeping watch when suddenly someone is sitting on top of a stack of crates handling their weaponry. They have no idea how he got past them but he looks human and doesn’t seem to want to eat them so they’re startled rather than threatened after a few minutes of watching him (they think it’s a him) not do much of anything. He’s clearly curious more than anything and he’s nowhere near as built as any of the clones. They could take him, right? The person looks kind of amused by their reaction anyway and darts off to a higher vantage point when one of the troops makes a grab for him. He’s a dark blonde, with hair that has grown into a curly mop, and the kind of lanky frame that's all limbs but with obvious deceptive muscle and strength to haul himself around that gracefully and that quickly. There’s also some nasty looking exaggerated canines and the clones are pretty sure humans don’t normally have reflective lenses in their eyes.
Hardcase: Uhhh, Rex, you copy? Rex: Yeah? Hardcase: There’s someone in the camp Rex: Repeat that?? Hardcase: He’s not wearing boots either. We think he came out of the jungle. Rex: On my way
Ahsoka, taking one look at Anakin, perched on top of their ship and looking down at all the gathered troopers like a cat in a tree, points and goes ‘that’s him. He’s the one we’re looking for’.
Still doesn’t really change the fact that he seems quite content to just bother them by being a nosy bastard about their camp but other than that he’s not really causing a problem. Or running away. He also has some amazing adaptation abilities - if he’s half-force, does that mean the Force is responsible for half of his genetic code? How much weird shit could come of that if the Force can handle slight morphological changes - He can grow gills if he’s kept underwater so he doesn’t drown. The reflective pupils aid him to see in the dark but during the day they are absent. Some of the men swear they’ve even seen him sporting a long flexible tail to hold things from time to time. The men all start bonding with this bizarre cryptid while Ahsoka and Anakin compare how big their fangs are and how sharp their claws are. Ahsoka is ecstatic that she now has a hunting partner because finally, someone gets it.
Rex: Didn’t think humans could get fangs like that, or claws Ahsoka: I’m not sure he’s entirely human. Seems too wild for that Anakin: Thank you Rex/Ahsoka: What
Up to this point he’s been entirely non-verbal and the troops assumed he couldn’t understand Basic. He absolutely can (retrograde amnesia doesn’t make you forget language) so he’s just been fucking with them. That’s ingrained, amnesia will not make him any less of a little shit. Thus begins the million and one questions they have for him once they realise he can speak and does understand them. He can also understand their droids.
They all start to let their guard down because huh he’s just a dude after all, trapped on a horrible planet and had to make do. It’s all fun and games until they see Anakin go from stationary to launching himself at a T-rex's throat that just charged out of the jungle in under a second.
They respect the fact that he is also an apex predator on this planet from that point onward.

Scales, Claws, And Other Signs Of Fatherhood
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a little while back, i said that i'd like to write a crossover between my SW Dragon Batch AU and Canon, so this is a little test for that! If you like this, and would like to see more, please let me know! I'd love an excuse to write baby 'mega again.
The last soft, orange-tinted rays of dying light were just beginning to dip behind Corruscant's horizon as the members of Clone Force 99 sauntered out of their beloved ship, the Havoc Marauder. The enhanced clones had been invited out to 79's by one of their reg brothers, Commander Cody, a rare treat and one that they were eager to take their ori'vod up on. Tech, especially, was thrilled that he was going to have the opportunity to meet General Anakin Skywalker face to face. According to Cody, the 212th's general had heard about their exploits, and had mentioned them to his former Padawan. Apparently, the man had been very impressed, and had specifically asked to go be introduced the next time they were both planetside.
As they exited the ship hanger, the batch was greeted by the familiar faces of their brothers, Rex and Cody, as well as someone they'd only seen on holos or from a distance.
"General Skywalker," Hunter greeted, extending a hand, "It's nice to finally meet you."
"You must be Hunter. It's nice to meet you too." the Jedi replied with a smile, "Please, just call me Anakin. We're all equals here!"
The two men shook hands, and something in the air shifted.
A full-body shiver wracked Anakin's body, and his face scrunched in confusion as the Force surged with some unknown feeling. Even the clones, who were not in tune with the Force, felt a prickle of unnatural energy rush through them, the hairs on the back of their necks standing on end.
"General, what's-!" Rex started, but was cut off by a blinding explosion of light. The air crackled with energy, and all of the men flinched as their ears popped unexpectedly, their bodies becoming overwhelmed by a feeling of pins and needles that infected every muscle, leaving them unable to hold themselves upright.
Then, as quickly as it had come, the feeling dissipated.
Hunter managed to right himself first, groaning as he pushed himself up onto his knees. To his left, he heard something shift, a new heartbeat joining the six he already heard, not counting his own. It was slower than their racing pulses, yet it was slowly getting faster, like someone rousing from a deep sleep. Forcing his eyes open, the clone Sergeant turned his head.
Tech lay on the ground before him, his signature goggles missing from his face. He was dressed in a casual black shirt and dark gray pants, and he had a small, cream-coloured blanket strewn across his shoulder.
Hunter blinked, shook his head slightly, then glanced over his shoulder at the spot where his brother should be.
Tech was stirring from his place on the ground, still clad in his armor with his goggles firmly in place over his eyes.
"Ooough... I think I hit my head. 'm seein' double" Wrecker croaked, running a hand across his face. Hunter stiffened at the realisation that it was not just him that could see the Other Tech. General Skywalker, Cody and Rex were also up now, all three staring at the newcomer with saucer-wide eyes.
"You're not the only one." Crosshair hissed, reaching for his spare blaster.
The Other Tech shifted again, his nose wrinkling in irritation. It was an expression Hunter knew exceedingly well, having seen it time and time again on his batchmate's face.
"Wrecker, Crosshair, if you two wake Omega, I'll skin you both." the Other Tech grumbled sleepily, no real malice to his tired voice.
The sniper and demolition expert gave each other wide-eyed stares, before looking to their leader for some kind of advice or plan. Hunter, for his part, gave them an equally confused face.
"Tech?" he tried carefully.
"Yes?" twin voices replied to his gruff voice, something that caused both clones to become alert at last.
Tech and Other Tech nearly mirrored each other in the way they sat up, eyes wide and filled with equal parts curiosity and caution. Their heads tilted in sync.
"Fascinating." they spoke in perfect harmony, something that made both of them start in surprise.
Other Tech broke the parroting first, squinting at his counterpart first, before letting his gaze flick to the rest of the group, his mouth setting in a tight line. "Hmm, I don't suppose I'm lucky enough that this is all some kind of elaborate dream or hallucination?"
"Uh, no?" Anakin managed out, still recovering from the effect of feeling reality rip itself apart and stitch itself back together all around him.
Other Tech sighed. "I thought not. You're all too young for that to make much sense."
Once those words had been spoken, Hunter realised that Other Tech did look older than his vod'ika. He had the beginnings of a few laugh lines, and there was a look in his eye that spoke of wisdom his counterpart had yet to gain. Questions swirled in his mind, but one stood out among all the rest.
"Who's Omega?"
Other Tech stared at him for a moment, before shaking himself.
"Ah, yes, I had almost forgotten that there had been a time before we had a daughter. I suppose you wouldn't recognise her-"
Hunter's brain had nearly short-circuited at the word daughter, but he quickly pulled himself together as he watched his older-younger brother's face go from sleepy and fond to panic-stricken as he touched the blanket on his shoulder. Instantly, Other Tech was on his feet, whirling around as he searched for something, or, rather, someone that he clearly believed should be there.
"Oh Gods, not again." his voice cracked dangerously, his breath hitching in panic.
Hunter forced his legs to work, his elder batchmate instincts kicking in. He knew the signs that Tech was about to have a panic attack, and it seemed as though time had not changed them. Around him, his vode pulled themselves out of their shock and stood as well, not knowing exactly what they should do in this situation. Tech, especially, seemed lost, mouthing the word 'daughter' to himself in disbelief.
"Hey, vod, breathe. It's okay, we're okay, and you're okay." Hunter soothed, "I'm going to put my hand on your shoulder, is that okay?"
Instead of the jerky nod or head shake he was used to, Other Tech whipped around and snarled at him, his teeth fang-like and wicked sharp as he bared them. His pupils had narrowed into slits, and Hunter could see glittering grey scales beginning to dot his brother's face.
"It is not okay!" he snapped, and Hunter stumbled back a few steps as a pair of wings suddenly formed on the other clone's back, leathery and tipped with ivory claws.
There was real anger in Other Tech's voice, but what Hunter really heard was fear, raw and almost palpable. The sudden turn that this already bizarre situation had taken made Hunter feel afraid too, not that he'd ever admit it.
It must have shown on his face, however, because Other Tech stepped back, his pupils rounding out again as he drew his wings in close to his body.
"I- I apologise. You have no way of understanding the situation I have just come from, but that does not give me the right to bare my teeth at you." he said, sounding genuinely sorry.
"WHAT THE KRIFF ARE THOSE?!" Wrecker shouted, having put himself between Crosshair and Tech, who were, like everyone else, staring at the two new appendages that had just sprouted from the other man's back.
Other Tech blinked at the question, before slowly extending a wing towards the group, one eyebrow raised. "My... wing? Wrecker, are you feeling alright?"
"Why do you have wings?" Cody barked, causing the other to shrink back at his 'I'm so done with this banthashit' tone of voice.
"Why do I- is that meant to be some kind of joke? I'm afraid I'm not the best with humour." Other Tech frowned. "We all have wings, I am not the exception here."
Hunter swallowed hard, stepping towards this strange, otherworldly version of his little brother. "Actually, vod, you are."
Other Tech stared at him, eyes wide.
"You- you're just human? All of you?!"
"Yes?" Hunter replied, becoming more and more convinced he was the one hallucinating by the second.
"What else would we be?" Anakin asked.
Other Tech looked at everyone, eyes searching for some kind of lie, some hint that they were all joking. When he found one, he exhaled hard, pinching the space between his eyes before speaking.
"Dragon shifters. Where I'm from, we're all dragon shifters."

Note
Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love ❤️
Thank you for the ask💜
5. The Dreams of Men - The Sandman
This fic is the classic Hob rescues Dream.
Even tho it's not finished I really liked writing it
4. It takes a Lot... - Lotr
Bard and Thranduil's meeting over the course of a year, with a sentient Mirkwood thrown into the mix.
I loved writing sentient Mirkwood and it's relationship with Thranduil
I swear the second chapter is done I'm just too busy with trsb to type it up rip
3. The Importance of Wing-Care - Star Wars
Tired Obi-Wan, wingfic and h/c what else can I say lol
I absolutely love wingfics and I had to write one when I saw this prompt for Codywan Week
2. To Love You Without a Name - Lotr
A sapphic Cinderella au featuring Barduil
There's not enough sapphic content in the Lotr fandom so I had to
1. Sol'ca'nara bal Vencuyot Mand'alor - Star Wars
An epic timetravel fic as Din travels back into the Clone Wars and his younger self. He's force sensitive and has really strong visions so he becomes Obi-Wan's padawan. He also gets adopted by the 212th and he adopts a squad in return. And the timeline may not seem as linear as first thought.
To this day this is my longest fic and I'm so proud of it. It features my favourite tropes and it has a convoluted plot lol. I love the interactions between Din and the 212th especially Cody and his squad
And I am planning to return to it as soon as I get back into Star Wars

2024 Fanfic goals
Or an unrealistic and overly ambitious list of fanfics a busy and far to optimistic undergrad will be attempting to write this year on top of homework and life.
(In no particular order after 1, which is top writing priority)
Finish When the star don't look quite right
Complete more stories in the little light are you listening verse
A sad-ish Caduceus Clay fic. The ramifications of being Melora's favorite child. Also the occasional trials in protecting a temple worshiping a goddess banned in the kingdom next door.
A sapphic genderbent/rule 63 modern codywan mafia au. Where Cody is the heir apparent to Jango's enterprise and Obi-Wan's a bartender working at one of his clubs with her own problems. (And bodies in the closet. Metaphorically of course). Love, murder, and chaos ensue.
A fic that's kinda tied to the You're not flawed darling verse, or what else jedi padawan's in the facial analysis and dialogue inspection classes get up to. Really just an excuse to imagine all the cool classes Jedi might offer cause I'm a nerd. (Also they bring down a crime syndicate. For fun, extra credit, and as a birthday present.)
I made a 212th chief medical officer for a fic I haven't posted yet & now I'm attached to him & the whole medbay.
A stewjoni are succubus au that came from me rewatching the first few eps of Lost Girl with my mom. Way less about sex & more about logistics, medical problems, and cuddling. Featuring Qui-Gon being an excellent master, codywan, aromantic Quinlan Vos, Obi-Wan using he/they/she pronouns, and plenty of costume changes.
A star wars/magnus archives fusion where the Jedi Code is especially important to follow when you are tied to fear entities. Web!Obi-Wan, Slaughter!Anakin, Hunt!Ahsoka, Corruption!Qui-Gon, & so on.
That is all to say happy new years!! I hope everyone is safe & doing well.
And if you want come talk to me about fanfic. I have lots of ideas and no one IRL to talk to. Ask me a question about any of the above & I will adore you.
