So I’m almost finished with the 08th MS team, and I. LOVE. The Gouf Custom. I love that it has voice commands, I love it’s giant black sword, and it’s cool finger shield. I hope it gets to do more than shoot guntanks! (No Spoilers Please!)

f1 🚩 Red flag in FP3 at Circuit Zandvoort as Logan Sargeant suffers a huge crash. Thankfully the Williams driver is out of the car and reports that he is doing okay, but the same cannot be said for his car.

logansargeant I am incredibly excited to announce that i'll be returning to formula one in the coming season to drive for Haas. I would like to thank Andretti for giving me three phenomenal seasons with IndyCar and two drivers championships. I wouldn't be here without your help and guidance. San Francisco Moves to Lead Fight Against Deepfake Nudes

City Attorney David Chiu has filed a lawsuit seeking to permanently shutter 16 popular websites that turn images of real girls and women into pornography.

Like many parents, Yvonne Meré was deeply disturbed when she read about a frightening new trend.

Boys were using “nudification” apps to turn photos of their female classmates into deepfake pornography, using images of the girls’ faces, from photos in which they were fully clothed, and superimposing them onto images of naked bodies generated by artificial intelligence.

But unlike many parents who worry about the threats posed to their children in a world of ever-changing technology, Ms. Meré, the mother of a 16-year-old girl, had the power to do something about it. As the chief deputy city attorney in San Francisco, Ms. Meré rallied her co-workers to craft a lawsuit, filed in state court on Wednesday night, that seeks to shut down the 16 most popular websites used to create these deepfakes.

The legal team said it appeared to be the first government lawsuit of its kind aimed at quashing the sites that promote the opportunity to digitally “undress” women and girls without their consent.

After reading a New York Times article about the tremendous damage done when such deepfake images are created and shared, Ms. Meré texted Sara Eisenberg, the mother of a 9-year-old girl and the head of the unit in the city attorney’s office that identifies major social problems and tries to solve them through legal action. The two of them then reached out to the office’s top lawyer, City Attorney David Chiu.

Kate is having preventative chemotherapy, also known as adjuvant chemotherapy. This is when drugs are given to “mop up” and destroy any cancer cells that are lurking in the body after surgery — to prevent cancer spreading or returning in future. Often patients undergoing preventative chemotherapy receive lower doses than those having it as a primary treatment, reducing the extremity of the side-effects. The length of chemotherapy varies from cancer to cancer. Professor Bob Phillips, professor of paediatric oncology at the University of York, said that the timeframe for chemotherapy treatment was “hugely variable”, adding that it was “traditionally between four and six ‘cycles’ of chemo, each cycle lasting 21 days and consisting of a day or few days of chemo”. All England Club Chair Debbie Jevans told Telegraph Sport in the build-up to the Championships they would give the Princess “as much flexibility as possible” in determining whether she is able to fulfil her ceremonial duties as Club Patron on finals weekend, including leaving a decision until the morning of the women’s final on Saturday.

Disappearance of Jay Slater

On the morning of 17 June 2024, 19-year-old Jay Slater from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire disappeared on the island of Tenerife, Spain after attempting to walk eleven hours back to his accommodation as a result of missing a bus. Slater had attended a music festival in south Tenerife with two friends the day before his disappearance.

Slater attended the three-day NRG Music Festival in south Tenerife on the afternoon of 16 June 2024. After the festival, Slater went to the mountain village of Masca with two men he met at the festival.

On 17 June, at around 08:00, Ofelia Medina Hernandez - the last known person in contact with Slater - told him that his bus was due at 10:00. Hernandez recalled driving past Slater as he "walked fast".

Fifty minutes later, at 08:50, Slater called his friend Lucy Mae Law to tell her that he was "lost", as he walked from Masca to where he was staying in Los Cristianos on the south coast of Tenerife. Slater said that his phone had 1% battery and that he needed water. His last known location is the Rural de Teno National Park. At 09:04, Slater was reported missing.

As concerns grow for his welfare, questions have begun to emerge as to how the apprentice bricklayer has seemingly vanished in an area inundated with tourists.

In his last Snapchat post at 7.30am, Mr Slater tagged Parque Rural de Teno Buenavista del Norte, an area to the north of the island, known for its rugged and sparse terrain.

He is believed to have travelled to the area during the early hours of Monday morning with two new acquaintances, without realising the distance from his apartment in the tourist area of Los Cristianos. Around an hour later, he phoned his friend Lucy to tell her he had missed his bus, and was planning to make the 11-hour walk. He told her he had cut his leg on a cactus, was unsure of his location and had barely any phone battery to use a maps app to make his way back. Search teams are currently scouring the area, with police deploying helicopters, drones and sniffer dogs to help with the search.

Despite being pointed towards a bus stop, Mr Slater decided against waiting another two hours for a bus to take him into town. Given that there is a main road nearby, questions have been raised as to why Mr Slater appears to have wandered into the wilderness. His friend Ms Law said: “What I don’t understand is if he did walk down then why wasn’t he seen by anyone? “It’s a busy time of day, the place is full of hikers and holidaymakers, he could have asked them for help or stopped somewhere but no one has seen him at all.”

After meeting two men, who have been described as British, during the festival, Mr Slater decided to return to their AirBnb while his friends went home. Little is known about them, and they have since flown back to the UK after being questioned briefly by Spanish police.

Slater's friend Lucy started a GoFundMe page to support his friends and family who had travelled to Tenerife while the search continued. Slater's mother, Debbie Duncan, said that she did not want any fundraising pages to be made and has urged people not to donate to any.

He remains missing.

The latest wealthy Conservative donor to endorse Starmer’s Labour Party is billionaire John Caudwell.  Like many billionaires, Caudwell is no stranger to controversy. In 2002, he was accused of

“…bullying staff to back his plans to build lucrative executive homes on greenbelt land.”  (Guardian: 04/07/02)

Could this be a reason why Starmer has said he would give local councils more powers to build on green belt land? Is this another example of would be Labour cronyism at play?

More recently, Caudwell was involved in a High Court case where he was accused of:

“...orchestrating a campaign to oust her (business woman Nathalie Dauriac) from Signia, and to expropriate shares at a low value.” (Financial Times: 08/05/18)

Caudwell was ordered to pay Dauriac, his former business partner,  £471,000 for the value of her shares. Previous to their falling out, Caudwell, putting profit making before human decency, had asked Dauriac to promise not to have children until the business was “firmly established”. Ms Dauriac also accused Caudwell of “bullying" tactics during their partnership.

This new convert to the Starmer’s Labour Party admitted on Desert Island Discs that he had:

“…taken advantage of tax avoidance schemes in order to be able to invest more heavily in Phones4U when it was still a fledgling company. (The Standard: 23/01/23)

Many on the left-wing of the Labour Party have either been suspended or kicked out of the party altogether under Starmer.  When Starmer says he has changed the Labour Party it is true – he has, but will he live to regret it?

Like many political dictators, Starmer has purged the party of anyone who doesn’t agree with his worldview. This is how the BBC reported his actions:

“Sir Kier Starmer has been accused of freezing out left-wingers and promoting his supporters…At the same time the party has been accused of "parachuting" Starmerite candidates into seats over the wishes of local Labour members” (BBC News: 02/06/24)

No leader worthy of that title should surround themselves with "Yes” men and women. A strong leader can tolerate opposition within their own ranks. In fact they should welcome it. Good Cabinet government DEMANDS a variety of views be aired when discussing policy options.  Is Starmer so insecure he cannot abide opinions other than his own? No, I don’t think so.

Starmer knows exactly what he wants to do and how to get there. Unfortunately, his views are so far right of traditional Labour Party values he has found it necessary to expel or silence the left wing of the party. But in alienating the left he has had to turn increasingly to wealthy outsiders like Caudwell to bolster his position, as well as the right-wing Blairites within.

When Conservative Natalie Elphicke, a hard-line anti-immigration Conservative, decided Keir Starmer was the leader for her, eyes were raised, but should they have been? We have already noted elsewhere that Starmer (and shadow cabinet colleagues) have been accepting massive donations  from billionaires with private healthcare business connections.

This is just the tip of the iceberg;

“Much has been made of Labour’s increasingly close relationship with big business and the wealthy under Keir Starmer…Dark Arts has already reported on the access and influence enjoyed by corporate lobbying firms who employ Labour candidates to connect their clients with senior party figures.”  (open Democracy: 13/03/24)

And there we have it! Wealthy individual and big corporations are paying money to gain access to Starmer and his team. These huge sums of money are seen as an investment.

That investment is paying off. This why John Caudwell, and people like him have turned to Starmer:

"It's no good living in the past. Let's look where we are, the here and now and the future. What Keir has done - as far as I can see - has taken all the left out of the Labour Party and he has come out with a brilliant set of values and principles and way of growing Britain in complete alignment with my views as a commercial capitalist."
