Im probably gonna go into more detail on this in the future but its been tisming in my mind and i cant draw rn cus im waiting for my new drawing tablet so imma just drop this know and maybe sketch some cute designs when i can

So ive been think of after nrc cus i saw abunch of cute fanart of azul and floyd (weirdly not much of jade) and i started thinking of what my interpretation of after nrc would be and here are my thoughts

This includes abunch if my own headcanons but i try to stay close to the actual game and my hcs are based off of ingame quotes and implications

Jade 100% is gonna be the twin to take over the family business. I think jade and floyd would have equal power but floyds not gonna help unless he feels like it leading jade to do most of the work. Im my version of the coral sea the leech family owns the largest territory in the deep sea area so most days would be doing daily care for it and bossing people. I do think he would work extremely close to azul but that will be talked apon in azuls bit

Floyd is floyd. He does what he wants and goes where he wants. He helps jade then he gets bored and annoys azul. He disappears for a week and hes traveled the world in that time span and learned how to do the cha cha slide. He is literally floyd he can do and be whatever he wants though usually thats around azul cus azul is azul

I love mafia aus with octivenelle they are so good so yummy i eat that shit up, but in trying to keep this more ingame logical based and not completely biased (its still heavily biased) i dont think after book 3 azul would make a mafia. There is a quiet but still present shift in how azul handles business before and after book 3. We literally see him tear his own contracts in glomas and while yes he is very stingy and smart and conniving, he is not like how he once was.

This might be silly but its my favorite idea and makes me giggle and kick me feet alot. I like the idea of azul just buying an island and making his own tourism town from the ground up. There is a mostro lounge x his moms restaurant collab there, a classic tourism dock, a club owned by the leech family, and those cool shop towns. I imagine there would be shady back deals (hed build it in the leech family’s territory) but i think the general idea of it is more genuine with a bonus of fish mafia black market if it should so be. Idk i like the idea of him making something that ties humanity (the thing he clings to since its probably still a bitch hard for him to truly be comfortable in his mer form) with his merside (something he loves but was ruined for him because of the bullying). Maybe its cheesy but i really like the idea of it

Like i said the island would be build in the leech territory. I dont think they are gonna split up, i dont think im being delusional because i hold them all close to heart no i think they are all oblivious liars, they can not fool me with the “well drop him so fast” shit if that was the case they would have dropped him when he overblotted or threw his tantrum or during his dream. The twins are not the type of people to give three chances to someone azul is just built different in their eyes and i think they would still stew and plan together cus you know azul cares for them and wants them to stay. You heard the “floyd jade! You came back to me” these are some of the only people to give him a chance and show him affection (even if they 100% made him worse) they are sticking together.

In my other post i mentioned how i think the leech family business would be about giving into your desires based on how the twins both act, i think they would run a casino and or club on the island. Its a way to siphon money in their pockets, pour unfortunate souls who just need a bit more money to azul (who would still do contracts obviously just not as crazily impossible to win against as before) and entertainment for them. I think a successful tourist island would kinda be like a flex on the other territories because not that many have proper human connections. Its a power boost and the start of potential more leech family properties in the future if it takes off well.

Bonus round is my oc veeyuu (im prob changing the name but it makes me laugh which is why i havent yet). They would continue to stay by azuls side. Even with the contract being destroyed back in book three and veeyuus debt to the ashengrottos being paid off, they wouldnt want to leave him. I think they would work on the island with the more brighter peaceful side of things, helping shop owners, bringing in tourists, maybe even making their own crafts and pastries to sell though they would be bad at the money aspect of owning a business. They give azul all of the information he needs from around the island and doesnt mind getting their hands dirty again but i think veeyuu enjoys finally being at peace

These are just my thoughts from today cus it’s become my obsession immediately. I need to rework it and rethink it and make sure its accurate but thats my take and i want to draw them how I think they would look in 10 years to cus it makes me happy and i think jade would go a bit more punk and vee would have a cute hat and floyd would have tattoos and azul would have a more peaceful face. No more tightened eyebrows (he has them when floyd comes back from his trips)

“Hey pretty mama! You finally gonna let me take you out for dinner tonight?” Dereks smooth tone gently called in front of you. It pulled your eyes up from the papers scattered about, starting from his firm waist and slowly climbing towards his magnetic eyes. He looked playful, and you knew he was joking. Some small part of you, one that you felt growing with every flirty joke or sweet gesture, wanted his request to be genuine.

You’d love nothing more than to experience a romantic night with Derek Morgan. You could imagine him sweeping you off your feet, pilling out all the stops. He’d treat you like a queen, and you longed to get to experience that, even if only for a night.

“Not today, handsome, but who knows! Maybe you’ll get me next time!” You match his flirty tone, throwing a playful wink in for extra effect. He smiled back and chuckled softly, shaking his head, and something looked off about the scene. He looked almost disappointed, but you couldn’t quite figure out why. Instead of pressing him, you just let your smile soften for a moment before returning your eyes to your work, barely missed the way his tender gaze swept over your hunched figure.

Out of the corner of your eye, you saw him move away, grabbing a small stack of files from his desk and making his was to Hotch’s office. You tried your best to remain subtle, but you know the others saw the way your eyes lingered on the broad expanse of his back. The shirt he chose today did wonders.

The sound of the door closing rang through the bullpen like a signal, causing Penelope to pull Emily from where they were sharing muted whispers and secretive glances. Garcia grabbed Spencer as she moved, disregarding his confusion for the situation entirely.

When the trio reached your desk, you raised your head and let your eyes flicker between them, taking in their behavior and sighing softly. You knew immediately that they knew about your feelings, you just hoped they would go easy on you.

Garcia, however, had no such plans. She seemed to want to get to the bottom of whatever thought seemed to plague her mind as soon as possible, but when the words “Why won’t you go on a date with him?” fall from her bright coral lips, your eyes narrow slightly in confusion and turn to Spencer.

“Listen, it’s not that I don’t find you absolutely adorable, Reid, but you’re not really my type, you understand?” His face grew redder with every word you spoke.

“No I- I’m not asking you out! I mean, you’re very pretty but- I don’t-“ You giggle and gently pat his shoulder, giving him a reassuring smile. you let him know you understand what he’s saying, but the blush remains high on his cheeks all the same.

Garcia chooses that moment to take back over, not wanting to risk Morgan coming out and interrupting. “No y/n, I’m talking about our resident eye candy! Agent Derek Morgan!” Her words come out an interesting mix of exasperated and something akin to desperation. she continued before you could question her words. “He asks you out all the time, and you always say no even though you look at him like you want to ride away into the sunset together with him on a big horse! What gives?!”

A faint blush rises to your cheeks as she finishes speaking, and you glance down, fidgeting with your fingers in your lap.

“Come on, Pen, we all know he’s just messing around, he’s like that with everyone!” My words nearly cause her right eye to twitch and she noticeably nudges Emily to take over, hoping she can get you to see the truth.

Emily let out a quiet grunt at the contact, but she takes her cue regardless.

“Yeah, but not like he is with you, honey. When you aren’t looking, he looks at you like you’ve given him everything he’s ever wanted. He looks at you like you’re the first drop of water he’s had in decades and he’s dying to taste you.” Her choice of words causes a darker blush to spread to my ears, and my eyes flit between each person. They all look sincere, Penelope and Spencer nodding along with Emily’s words as she speaks.

You study their faces for a moment longer before bringing your pointer finger up to bite your nail. It’s a nervous habit you’d picked up decades ago, a young child with a need for control who took in out on their poor fingers. You’ve tried on your own to quit for years, but it never sticks.

“I just- I just don’t know, what if you’re wrong? what if you all misread things and I ruin our friendship somehow? I don’t want to lose him!” I bit a particularly painful spot on my nail bed and before I knew it, a strong hand was reaching down from behind me to gently pull my fingers from my face. Everyone around me, except the man behind me, stayed perfectly still, shocked by the silent arrival of the very man they’d been discussing so openly.

“Babydoll, you know you’re not supposed to chew those pretty nails. You don’t need to be nervous, lovely thing.” His words are soft behind you, a comforting timbre, despite the electricity that now crackled beneath my skin. “You won’t lose me if you say yes, I promise you that, sweetheart, You’d be making me the happiest man alive if you finally said yes.” As he speaks he turns my chair to face him, ending with his hands on both armrests, caging me in. I wasn’t uncomfortable with the feeling, rather flustered by how close it put us. His face was now mere inches from mine and I wanted nothing more than to kiss him now, not a single care for anyone around.

You couldn’t though, not yet.

“Well, Derek, will you ask me again? I promise you’ll like the answer this time.” I bit the inside of my cheek to hold back my large grin, but it threatened to break free anyways when I saw the bright smile he gave me in return. He wasn’t hiding his excitement and it made my chest warm with a feeling I’d been fighting off for months.

“Absolutely, Baby girl,” he takes one of your hands in his, bringing the soft skin up to his lips, “will you please, finally, actually, go on a date with me? I’ll take you to the best place I know!”

You respond with a kiss, finally giving in to the desire you’ve felt since the first time he called you ‘honey’.

Sebek and Yuu studied together in the library before the exams with Grim (Dia 3 was sitting in the lounge wondering where Sebek was for their study session)

Yeah thats it OKAY onto the part where they found out adeuce and grim got sea anemone'd

SEBEK IS SO BETRAYED. HE STUDIED WITH GRIM. HE THOUGHT HE WAS GETTING SOMEWHERE WITH THAT FUCKING CAT. HE GENUINELY TEARED UP (Yuu beat Grim's ass)

He shouted at Adeuce that theyre fucking idiots, they knew what they were getting into, theyre idiots again, take the L, you buried your own grave (Highly exaggerated)

Sebek told Deuce that he thought he was smarter than this. turns out he was just like Ace. "I'm not mad, I'm disappointed." Sebek says, clearly fucking MAD as hell

Deuce genuinely felt guilty because nah man why is sebek nagging him like a mom 💀💀💀

They decide to help them out 🙄🙄🙄 ONLY because Grim was with them though (Thats a lie)

They tried to meet with Azul but Jack AND Sebek got forced to work to help out Adeuce and Grim

Jade tried to make Sebek play waiter but he genuinely could NOT hold up a social interaction (He almost teared up talking to a customer) (The customer felt pity on him)

...he made Sebek work in the kitchen (HE IS IN HIS ELEMENT HE IS THRIVING) (Jade wonders if he can get Azul to employ him)

The finally meet with Azul!!! Blah blah blah contract blah blah blah. They give Sebek the same water-breathing potion. Sebek looked weird when he accepted it from them but no one paid too much attention

When theyre at the mirror everyone drinks the potion except Sebek. Yuu wanted to ask why but then the potion did its work 🔥🔥🔥 Everyone travelled to the Coral Sea

Everyones safe and sound before Yuu remembers that SEBEK DIDNT DRINK THE POTION. BUT HE STILL JUMPED IN AFTER THEM. They panic before realizing that Sebek is...okay in the water????

CROC FORM BABY 🔥🔥 Yuu finds out that Sebek is half crocodile (the fae part still being unknown to them)

He actually helps them hold out a bit longer against the tweels, but sebek acknowledges that theyre at a disadvantage here. He gets everyone to retreat

He tries to stop the others when they want to get into azul's office to get the contracts 🙏🙏🙏he just cant wrap his head around WHY he has the vault out in the open like that in his office. not even curtains??? what the hell

He stays behind when they still go inside

Yuu meets Hornton again 🔥🔥🔥 Calls him by the nickname. Malleus is amused, before shaking his head and asking whats got them troubled. At the end of their talk Malleus almost asks how Sebek is doing but cuts himself off.

They snap him out of it when Yuu and Sebek coincidentally find a picture from the yearbook that has Azul floating around the water while trying to swim to him. They hand it to the tweels and they show it to Azul, shouting shit about how whether he was the Azul from then and now, theyre yet to find him boring (Theyll never find him boring). "Pretty lame youre overblotting now though lol" "Floyd."

Azul's tragic backstory 🔥🔥🔥Yuu finally realizes Sebek is somehow with them when they see this. Sebek looks uncomfortable when Azul reveals he was bullied and WHY he was bullied

THEY DID IT WAHOO!!!! When Azul complains about the yearbook photo, Sebek mutters something about knowing how he feels. Yuu is the only one to hear this

Leona says if its normal that Grim is trying to eat a stone. Sebek immediately pounces on Grim to get the stone out

Sebek tries to go to Diasomnia again to see if the door's still locked, Hornton's here again!!! Thanks them for the advice, before they hear Silver trying to find Malleus. Malleus doesnt disappear right after though, so Silver walks off to try and find him somewhere else

They finish their conversation and Yuu hears the front door closing and opening. Yuu grumbles to themselves saying that Sebek probably got locked out again. "I swear if I meet his Wakasama I'm going to beat his ass" Hornton whistles

Malleus leaves and Sebek comes inside Ramshackle looking sad. "Locked again?" "...yeah" They stay up a bit to share stories with each other. (And to get Sebek's mind off of Diasomnia)

Estelle spends the night with Zoey

Thats all there is to it

Estelle was drenched by the time she reached Zoey’s apartment. Winter in Hatchetfield usually meant a lot of snow, but since it wasn’t quite cold enough yet, it was just a shit ton of rain. Estelle had only lost power a few times in recent years, and this was by far the worst one. It was nearly nine pm and here she was, knocking on the door of the girl she was kind of dating, kind of fucking, kind of pretending she didn’t know.

Estelle didn’t recognize the figure that came to the door. She was fairly short, maybe 5’2 or 5’3 at most, with messy brown hair that hung just above her shoulder blades. She was wearing a pair of green flannel pajamas and holding a cookie in one hand.

“Who are you?” She asked Estelle, yawning as she talked. “I didn’t think door-to-door salespeople even came around any more.”

“Oh, no, uh, I’m Zoey’s…friend. My power went out and my heater broke, she said I could spend the night. You must be one of her roommates?”

The girl nodded. “For better or worse, yeah. I’m Hailey.”

“Estelle.”

Hailey then broke into a light laugh. “You’re not just a friend, then, you’re the one she…ooooh, fun. She’s in her room. I was just on the way to the- you know, the bathroom.”

Hailey turned down the hallway, letting Estelle into the apartment. It was a fairly simple layout: a hallway with three doors, presumably a bathroom, bedroom, and closet, which opened into a living room with a small kitchen at its left. To the right was a staircase that probably led to the second floor of bedrooms.

Estelle peered into the one open door—a small and simple bedroom set, featuring a twin bed, desk, dresser, and a good scattering of clutter across the floor. The walls were minty green, one of them adorned with a painting; a letter ‘H’ in calligraphy. Probably Hailey’s. 

Estelle continued up the stairs, where she was greeted by three more doors: the open one to a half-bathroom, just a toilet and a sink with some nice coral-hued curtains, a tightly shut door, locked and everything, which Estelle assumed belonged to Zoey and Hailey’s other roommate, and a final one that boasted a placard in the shape of a star, like one might see on a celebrity’s dressing room. Undoubtedly Zoey’s.

It was open just a crack. Estelle turned the knob and slipped in. The room was more spacious than Hailey’s, and it also had a bigger bed, likely a queen, and more decor hung about. Fairy lights twinkled from the ceiling, illuminating the room in a soft glow. The bedsheets were soft and plush, with plenty of pillows sitting atop them. The rug was warm under Estelle’s bare feet.

Zoey herself was sitting at her vanity, running a brush through her chestnut brown hair. She smiled when she saw Estelle, which surprised the ginger, really.

“Didn’t know if you were actually gonna show.” Zoey laughed. “How’d you get in?”

“Hailey got the door for me.” She came a bit closer to Zoey, careful not to overstep. “She seems tired.”

“I don’t know why she would be, she’s been home all day.” Zoey frowned. “Whatever. You gonna wear that to bed?” She gestured to Estelle’s current ensemble; her usual thick red sweater and white maxi skirt. Estelle mentally slapped herself for not changing into something more cozy.

“Guess I have to now.” She joked. Zoey waved her off.

“Grab something out of my closet.”

Estelle wasn’t going to think twice: she flung open the closet doors and pulled out some gray sweats and what looked to be a t-shirt from one of Zoey’s past shows. 

“Bathroom’s right next door, or you can change here.” Zoey had since turned her attention back to the vanity mirror, wiping off all of that day’s makeup. “I don’t mind.”

Estelle didn’t want to miss that opportunity either. She grabbed the bottom hem of her sweater and pulled it off of her body, quickly unclipped her bra, and tossed the show shirt on before Zoey even had a chance to comment on how flat she was, whether said comment would be good or bad. Off came the skirt, soon replaced by the soft fabric of Zoey’s sweatpants. Estelle was content, enveloped in the warmth of her kinda-sorta-girlfriend’s scent, which held notes of coffee and honey.

“Looking good.” Zoey spun around in the chair. “You don’t mind if I change in here, do you?”

Estelle felt her face heat up. “No, no! Not at all, be my guest, Zoey.”

“Great.” Zoey smirked. She sauntered over to the closet, swinging her hips seductively. Estelle couldn’t take her eyes away. She didn’t want to seem like a perv, but god, the moment Zoey’s shirt came off, she was glued to the soft curvature of her situationship’s body.

Zoey tossed her bra onto the floor, turning away from Estelle, which made Estelle a little bit bitter. Everything was covered up with her pajama top. Estelle met her eyes, face as red as a tomato. Zoey rolled her eyes with a small smile, and walked over to the bed. 

Estelle plopped down on the floor. She grabbed her discarded sweater and skirt and tucked them both under her head as a makeshift pillow. Zoey raised an eyebrow at her. 

“Issss there a reason you’re on the floor?” The brunette questioned.

“I didn’t think you wanted me in bed with you.” The ginger replied honestly. Zoey beckoned her up.

Estelle instinctively curled into Zoey, nuzzling into the softness of her breasts, the two women’s bodies entwining, soaking in the warmth of each other’s presence. Zoey in particular was as snuggly and comfortable as a blanket. This was as cozy as Estelle had ever been. 

“Jesus, you’re a cuddler.” Zoey noted. Estelle giggled. “You got that right.”

I FINALLY FUCKING DID ITTTTTTT!!!!!!!! I FINISHED BOOK 3!!!!!

Oh man, that was fun but annoying, especially Azul's boss battle he took forever! I really like Azul, Jade, and Floyd. I'm not quite sure who my favorite of the three is! I love them all so much! I couldn't stop giggling like an idiot when everyone was looking at the picture after the boss battle. The overblot voices are so cool, and Azul was no exception. I kinda feel bad for the poor guy. No one deserves to be bullied. (He's still a lovable little shit though lol)

I really like their suits when they are working in the lounge! I also really like their underwater forms! Not to mention just how cool Azul looks in overblot form!

But why was Micky Mouse in my mirror lmao (rhetorical question)?

Now, for the real question since I always ask something: you obviously really like Azul, so who is your second favorite?

overblot azul took me so long to beat too but isn't he just GORGEOUS??? i wish we got to see his merform without the near death experience :((( i would really like a coral sea event but even though i know azul wouldn't be inclined to show that side of him regardless. but yes, the leech twins are beautiful in their merforms. i'm so curious about how their fins and skin feels, with the mucus. it might not be a good idea to touch though since moray eels can be toxic.

azul's been through some tough shit but he came out the other end stronger and smarter, for better or for worse. on one hand, he's a powerful & influential person, which is everything he wanted to be when he was younger. he proved his bullies wrong. he stomped on them with foot and said "HAHA BITCHES WHO'S LAUGHING NOW!!!!" but that's also really bad sometimes because all of that drove him to overblot. he spends all of his time working and working and working because thats all he is. if he doesn't have power he's nobody. of course this isn't true by a long shot. azul is the dork that likes collecting coins. he's the boy that's so close with his family and greatly treasures them. he's the boy that played piano in the band he had with his childhood friends. he's the boy that can sing really well and has an amazing eye for business opportunities. azul ashengrotto is a person without his power, but he feels that's all he has to lean on.

ANYWAYS.....MICKEY MOUSE. i may be stupid but i have no idea why he's showing up. i just kinda rolled with it.

jade single handedly dragged me into researching edible plants (for the harveston event) and got me into watching mushroom documentaries, which eventually got me into the science of mycorrhiza (a symbiotic relationship between orchids, one of my favorite flowers, and mushrooms) so he's taught me like half a bio degree i think /J

also jade's one of those characters that is just gorgeous. there's no explanation for it, he's so just so ethereal. its unhinged. hes so weird. he also played the contrabass when in that band w azul and in the harveston event he talks about having a knack for woodwinds which i FREAKED OUT upon hearing because i play the FLUTE and i was SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!

i believe ive talked about how i think there could be a metaphor/straight up depiction of healing from traumatic situations and/or learning how to cope with mental health struggles in the game in the past? anyway im gonna do it Again

this kind of hinges off the belief that the octoling shown in the trailer is octarian/not from the splatlands (whatever the correct term is i forgot). if the octoling is from splatsville then uh whoopsie. this is Not Relevant and will age like milk. anyway

octarian society definitely has a lot of strife. especially when in the military. suddenly trying to enter inkopolis and being met with turf wars suddenly being for fun and almost a complete lack of strife has to be wayyyy too much for some octolings. ive mentioned this in a prior post though thats from the perspective that the sr octoling is agent 8 (which im hesitant to believe but this is not the main point for this post specifically) id just like this to be true to contrast with what i think will be a revolving point around marina

and yeah, thats my main point, i think marina will have stuff to work through, too. i dont think she'll be an antagonist, but rather someone who's doing the wrong things for the right reasons or someone who caused a bad situation (which ill just call the death of coral here) on accident while trying to help. she was in the military at a very young age and escaped to inkling society, but the stuff after final fest is what im thinking about.

i can really only bring up NOA dialogue (aside from one thing, if i can find the source for it), so this may be off, but i dont have the resources to look up a 100% authentic translation

though of course pearl comforts her that this isnt the case, i wonder if that fear still lingers in her mind. im not too knowledgeable on marina's characterization (i heard NOA isnt either so, lol) but it seems in character. she definitely hasnt unpacked(? i believe that is the right word) the fear on screen as far as i can tell, though, and i think side order might be about that, a little.

what interests me most is this unused dialogue from if team order won, though:

of course its unused so it doesnt hold as much weight as canon dialogue, but i wonder if she'll hold a similar mentality. she has control, and she sees that she can shape the world. i dont fully agree with her changing everyone to be the same, since she later says this:

if she were to do anything, i think she'd change the world that may try to be like this, but something in it would be functionally unsound and cause the whole thing to break. im not sure if she even would in the first place but i can acknowledge the possibility. itd be ironic, shes good at building machinery but not building a utopia.

i dont think she needs to be saved in this scenario, i think its best if she were to save herself. but this is verrryyy speculative so i cant say much.

tangent aside. marina understanding and moving on/healing from her fears being compared to the protagonist octoling's own journey on recovering would be great. itd be even better with agent 8 in my opinion, since theyve clearly gone through Some Shit and definitely need therapy for it, but i dont want to speculate too much. im expecting all of this to be Wrong but i cant ignore that ive been thinking about it like this lol

Alright, wake up Honey. Time for my 10pm Rant about Splatoon Side Order Theory

Thank you for coming to my Impromptu TED Talk.

I want to see Side Order live up to Octo Expansion. O.E did some amazing things with the story and lore of Pearl & Marina and it would be a crying shame for them to shoot themselves in their foot by making Marina the main villain or god forbid force her into the role with Mind Control or bringing back an older already used vilian like Tartar or something. Marina is shown to be incredibly smart, especially with technology, so it would be hard to believe that she was used by someone else. And I'd hate to see any form of Hypnosis being used.. Since it just robs her character of importance and just makes her a 'reward' sort of like Callie from splatoon 2s story mode.

Side Note: For Splat2s base storymode, It would have been interesting to hear the two parts of the squid sisters have some sort of dialogue in that story. It's obvious that Marie cares about Callie to go to these lengths, but outside of some sparse moments in a handful of levels, we never see it in game outside of the final fight. It would have been interesting to have Callie be a much more present threat to the player in maybe the boss battles or something. It would've been really cool to maybe have her talking to Agent 4 throughout the final few levels to intimidate them and Marie would have some sort of reaction to it.

Honestly would hurt to see Marina be relegated to a 'damsel in distress' when it comes to Side Order. She deserves the agency and there's CLEARLY some theme going on with Marina in the tower itself. With the various imagery of Memcakes (the collectable from OE) being either made or packaged to go somewhere, and the fact that there's various bits of memories from Marina like the baby mobile, Children's toys like Wooden blocks, and specifically pink pianos being held in stasis or again, being transported somewhere.

Personally, I don't want there to be any big villain or world ending threat.

Here comes the big theory:I think it would be more interesting for the plot-point of her(Marina) choosing to stay in the Spire due to Sunk Coat Fallacy.

To me, it fits character more to be wrapped up in her managing and repairing the Spire to where she might as well be trapped in an endless flow of Micromanaging the well oiled machine she made. Rather than her being Trapped at the top of the place she might as well have built with her own two hands. Genuinely I think it would be an amazing idea for the main conflict being Pearl, Agent 8 and Acht be the ones to physically go over to Marina sort of like an Intervention. At least Pearl would understand that Marina didn't mean to hurt anybody, but their main concern would be her own physical and mental health since she's.. More or less walled off everything that isn't her work for the sake of keeping things running smoothly if at all. It would be hard to justify abandoning a project that you either put years of planning into(like the few years between splat 2 ending and… We'll, now) or something that Just ballooned so much in scope that it literally needs the constant maintenance and checkups for it to not collapse on itself.

She's probably spent a shit load of time and resources on something she clearly cares about for one reason or another (hopefully to help others). To actually guess as to what exactly the Spire does would be foolish since its less than a week away.

We even see the spire itself show signs of damage in that new trailer so there's probable chance that something unintended is happening if that wasn't obvious from how… Literally everything around it is dead and bleached sand and coral.

My reasoning is that Marina had some… Genuine concerns about the world falling into chaos in splat 2. She felt rightfully scared that she'd never see Pearl again if there wasn't some sort of order with the world. So thats my best guess.

But I know this.. Well, won't happen due to how the main Side Order Trailer starts with the player character of Splat 3 falling asleep On a train. And the fact that the description of the DLC describes it as a 'What If' scenario if Order one the Final Fest. So I'm fully expecting things to be as non-cannon as can be if I'm lucky.

Side Topic Act II:I don't want the reward to be another playable species.. Since the main draw of Octo expansion Was the octolings, a feature people wanted since the beginning.. It would Really suck for there to be something like 'Salmon-lings' since the Salmon in game have a… Shit ton of lore dedicated to then as an entirely different society with unique well, everything. So to go back on that design for a basic looking humanoid salmon.. Thing, would again.. Be shooting themselves in the foot. I think the big reward other than Inkopolis Square, would be the various weapon skins. It looks like every main weapon in the game, or at least slot of them, have some sort of Prototype version that's used in the Spire simulations. And I'd imagine that beating the Spire with that weapon, unlocks that skin for multi-player use. Not as a separate weapon, but as a literal togglable thing for the weapon you already have. It would be that extra bit of motivation to play with the weapon you enjoy to get a unique variant of it or something. That, and the option to tint your fingers and tentacles. Since Color is another big theme with Side Order. And it's another thing people have been wanting since the 2nd game.

for floyd i go off some HCs i have for her, like him having the adhd + autism + bpd combo, which makes him a very unstable fella. i also HC that the coral sea was Rough, principally where he comes from, so the circumstances werent at her favour and Boom, did system

some of his alters are sea-life based, but brainmade, with a ton of diff species! the others are based off songs she likes & characters she sees herself in/relates to! sometimes the characters resemble jade, too. theres only a few trauma holders, most are protectors or soothers, and some persecutors!

theyre like. that weird, big family down the street. they all like each other a lot but they looove to bicker and brawl and all of that. ALSO all of them Love jade too! they see him the same way they see floyd :D shes included in their weird family, floyd says shes an honorary member of his system!!

iii think his inner world would be like. a beach house! close to the sea and such, cause hes a mermaid but he also likes having legs. so beach house it is! its veey big and lively! i also think hed learn it after he comes to land, maybe in the middle of his freshman year, but he wasnt very affected by it. hes also very open about it he does not give two shits lol

for riddle... its canon that her childhood was shitty, ever since she was old enough to talk & walk, so its no wonder hes a system too lol. i hc her as autistic + bpd and that heavily influenciated the whole splitting too

after her overblot he like. split three or five more in a week 😭😭 it sucked ass and he had an awful headache for days. + he was only made aware of her system After the overblot, during the recuperation week, bc the other alters went to check on her, and it was. Something. she told cater & trey right away and they helped her navigate it all, then she told adeuce duo too and some other few close friends!

addition thoughts for jay: i know she removes the pin when under cover because shes going in disguise but like. i have to talk about that. she wears it while sailing on the open seas. and she also carries her sisters badge. like shes so connected to the navy, yet she chose to be a pirate. at first it felt like the pin wasnt holding any hair out the way, but like in the more recent design she has, it holds back her bangs (which must be better for her vision and aim j bet), like she can put those ties behind her. shes still connected to them, but not as much as before. i also wanna bring up jays connections to failure! she probably is seen somewhat as a failure, by her family and by herself (also friends idfk). she failed to help ava. she failed to be a true pirate at first. she failed to stick to plan and keep being a spy. shes failed several times before, and im not even talking just in battle or to save or whatever! shes failed in inventions, talking to people, lying, you name it! yet, her hair is messy and down and long, and thats because she survived it. she survived the failures and its her way of winning. her wins outnumber her failures and she knows it, so she lets it down fully because shes more proud, and more free to fuck up things that arent shit.

thoughts with chip: chips new hair has a lot of similarites to people hes met. its wild and free like jays, he has a little braid like lizzie and/or ollie, its like how he changes with eceone he meets. this is also how hes choosing his hair to look, what with the undead thing now. SPEAKING OF THAT, THE BANDANA MUST BE SO INTERESTING FOR THIS! like, chip can make his hair any length with this, so its not off the list that he wouldnt make it longer or shorter. he can change how it looks, and with this it must mean it changes around meanings. if he chooses to have it shorter, its more meaningful because hes acknowledging that he fucked the hell up. theres also how like the hat is kinda big enough to hide some of his hair so its like hiding his failures and victories, hoorayyy!!!

Erwin steps in and takes responsibility for the confused trio as they could be useful in expeditions beyond the wall

Hange is absolutely ENAMORED with these children and want to run ALL the tests and study all their gear!!

Eren is totally jealous unimpressed by the 3 newcomers of their world but secretly he thinks all their powers are so cool, Todo’s especially.

Shy boi Armin is scared to interact but the lil sweetheart happily welcomes him to the corps

Connie definitely let’s his intrusive thoughts win and asks Todo if “the carpet matches the drapes”, to which Todo responds “…. My bedroom has no carpets or drapes.”

Their first expedition outside the wall starts out a total shit show bc, per usual, Bakugo listens to no one and Todo and Deku have to reign him in

But when he gets his first kill he is just so proud of himself

Todo becomes the most useful as his ice wall is able to corale all the titans into one spot, thus allowing Hange to capture a few for her own experiments AND avoid mass casualties

Todo becomes the new fave and Baku is BITTER

For dinner, Bakugo whips up a small feast (bc ain’t no way he’s living off of bread and potatoes) including some mapo tofu, and he gets so mad when Sasha tries to eat everything sjsjsksjs

Idk if you’ve talked about it before but is it ok to ask about your left eye?

yeah! So like, I was born with some fucked up unknown genetic abnormality that essentially resulted in glaucoma developing in the womb, so by the time I was born, I had late glaucoma in both eyes, the doctors were so bewildered that they sampled my blood and studied my genome for the human genome project or some shit to see if this was some new mutation or genetically inherited, but the results were inconclusive

I had to go through multiple surgical operations to save my eyes, but ultimately they were able to only save my right eye, and when I was 5 months old they had to completely enucleate my left eye down to the optic nerve since it became infected and died

I had an orbital implant installed when I was 2, which is a porous coral material shaped to a ball about the size of a dime inserted into the ocular cavity, with the eye muscles and vascular tissue grafted on, and then had scleral tissue sewn over to cover it, so that way I could wear prosthetic eyes which are semispherical and would track along with my healthy right eye, allowing the prosthetic to look realistic. I actually experience phantom pain syndromes even after all these years

3 years ago in college, I was having problems with my old orbital implant, my skull and ocular cavity had grown but the implant couldn't, so it was really small and didn't allow the prosthetic to move that well. I was given the option to either just let it stay as-is, completely remove the implant and just have a full spherical prosthetic fitted, or be given a new larger-sized implant

My dad pressured me into getting a new implant, so we had the surgery done by the only surgeon who really does this stuff in NE Ohio. The surgery went well, they also took some fat from my hip leaving me with a large surgical scar on my right side, and after the healing period was over I was allowed to wear my new prosthetic. The surgeon's handiwork wasn't nearly as good as he said, because immediately after inserting the prosthetic, the scleral tissue tore, exposing the suborbital implant, which caused LOTS of pain and bleeding, and I wasnt able to wear my prosthetic

The surgeon blamed me and got really beligerent with me, and refused to see me for further followups or corrective surgery. My eye lids began to atrophy so I couldn't even put the prosthetic in if I wanted too, and the tissue has just kinda become inflamed and I have to take steroids to keep the pain and bleeding down. We were prepared to file a malpractice suit but we arranged a deal where if I dropped it and agreed to have my name removed as a patient, the total medical cost of the surgery and the prosthetic and the appointments would all be wiped, which was a hell of a lot of money and we really couldn't afford a legal battle at the time anyway

So thats about it! I wear eye patches now and probably won't be able to wear prosthetics again unless I get extensive corrective surgery which I honestly dont want to go through again

i dont have a ton of details about specifics, nor do i know the full extent of whats been going on in the books since arc 2, but i can mention a few things that are yucky

- portrayal of child abuse: especially with coral, the narrative of an abusive mother who neglects their children is not handled well at all. despite anemone having been strapped to her mother her entire life, forced to go to animus school with whirlpool [ie child predator who at the very least makes her uncomfortable], and even threatened to be muzzled when she argues with her mother, all of that is overlooked and essentially completely forgiven at the end of book 2 where coral does a pissy little “im sorry i just love you so much :((((” and even tsunami is like “oh well thats fine then :D”. portraying child abuse as something that is out of love and the harm should be forgiven is EXTREMELY HARMFUL TO AN AUDIENCE OF CHILDREN?????

- racism: god where do i even start. why did sutherland use the word “tribe” and “tribal” to describe the dragon races. glory literally gets abused extra bad because everyone is racist towards rainwings, this happens in like literally every scene glory is in with a new character. im not even going to TOUCH on the slavery arc because i think that is pretty. self explanatory. 

- genocide: darkstalker, because he is bitter about his dad, decides to send a magical plague to kill a shitload of icewings. but the jade winglet thinks that he deserves a second chance uwu.....

- trauma/abuse/etc: very yucky moment when darkstalker enchanted fierceteeth to literally become his ex against her will. i dont even know what to say about this. what the fuck. why is this okay

- lgbt rep: 0 trans character, 1 mlm character who is only mentioned as being gay because he has a crush on a dragon who is half his age [perhaps progressing the stereotype that gay men are child predators is a terrible idea?????????]. plenty of lesbians now because they are presumably more marketable. im glad theres lesbian rep but i cant even say theres lgbt rep in the books because its like literally Only Lesbians. 

i dont know what else there is but writing this up made me want to beat the author with a stick. casual reminder this is a kids series and perhaps we should handle this topics with care instead of [checks notes] teaching children that genocide is forgivable.
