Damn I love that the characters in The Heart Killers just talk unfiltered about sex, desire, jerking off, kinks, they even curse freely. Besides them also doing all that full scene.
Watching this series is like finally opening the button of your favorite, but bit too tight, pants you wore the whole day.
It's like breathing in some fresh mountain air on vacation.

thought I'd compile a list of some of the current dangling threads we have in link click. specifically, going to ignore the ones that others have gone into detail exploring and just bring up the ones that haven't gotten as much attention but will almost certainly be relevant.
the missing files on the seventh victim of the serial murders from season one. emma was noted as 'victim one' in the files and there were eight in total. if these killings were done by red eyes then all we know of the victim profiles is that they're not seen to be 'innocent' in the culprit's eyes (ofc, we can only speculate what that means, but I'm currently gunning on it being some form of bystander to crime just going by themes*/what we know of emma/the fact the police struggled to find a uniting motive) and there's no set age/gender being specifically targeted. the killer's methods are said to be 'meticulous' (big qian jin vibes there ngl even if the motive part of it doesn't seem to obviously align). anyway, missing files implies an inside job and timing-wise it's unclear if that means qian jin or if chen bin was somehow involved. chen bin apparently was the last to handle the files before passing them to xiao li, but at the same time he doesn't react in a particularly guilty manner when xiao li asks of the missing file. meanwhile, qian jin would have left the force before these killings started but I'm sure he still had plenty of connections left in the force. either way, the seventh victim has been hidden for a reason. knowing what was in that file should lead to a breakthrough of some sort.
liu min's younger brother mentioned in the first two episodes of season two. said to be the more favoured of the two siblings and hasn't yet officially entered the game, but just from law of conservation of detail I think he is going to be a player because why even bring him up when liu min is already dead.
li tianxi's mutism and subsequent abilities of speech as a teenager. the mutism and later explanation are both such deliberate details to include. I don't know for sure what the answer is, but I do think the idea of tianchen or someone else possessing tianxi is a possibility given we know that possession overrides certain physical traits. cxs even explicitly confirmed that this would include mutism when he spoke as tianxi in his dive. it could also be that tianchen is literally dressed as tianxi and is using the mask to help disguise this fact. or tianxi could be tianxi. but whatever the case, I do think the mutism is a relevant point to return to. (also, in s2e4 it looks like the sibling with the messy fringe (tianchen?) doesn't speak. unsure if this is to hide that there were multiples and we just didn't hear the speech but ig it does add to the option that tianchen and tianxi have swapped bodies entirely)
fountain boy. I know I said I'd avoid the stuff that's already been explored but this is such an obvious thing that *will* come back. my intuition says that the fact they picked such an adult sounding voice actor means the character hasn't yet been formally introduced and will appear later (and so opens up the possibilities of hat guy/liu min's brother etc) but that's purely on a meta level. within the story itself it could be almost any male character sans cheng xiaoshi.
Liu Min's phone, taken by Li Tianchen(? - going by the fringe but not confident of this) without Qian Jin's oversight. Does this mean Tianxi is working with Qian Jin whilst Tianchen is double-crossing? Either way, these three are not all in it together. They have some shared motives but ultimately their own agendas.
*themes here meaning qiao ling's big regret re: doudou was that she saw someone leave with him and said nothing. emma's only 'crime' was that she knew of the financial irregularities but didn't speak up. li tianchen saying about people pretending to be nice but secretly are jerks are the worst. my other idea is 'people the law won't punish' because qian jin's backstory (vigilante justice type deal also kinda fitting the themes) especially as the murderer who killed his wife later 'committed suicide' and it was mentioned that several of the meticulous killings were initially mistaken for suicides. anyway, I'll fully admit I'm running on vibes for this as speculation and am fully open to there being another theme tying together the victims.

I'm watching too much stuff. And things are not slowing down with all the things coming in September. So I'm gonna try and keep this short. As much as that's possible given the amount of shows.
QL - Currently Watching
🇹🇭 4 Minutes [6/8] - Finally some answers. I haven't read all the theories floating around about this last episode and what it means, but I'm firmly on the side of, there is another alternative timeline, probably from when Tyme is dying at the start of the show, and also very much in agreement with everything @lurkingshan wrote here that these are just imagined do-overs and nothing will actually change in the real world. Which would be my preferred way.
🇹🇭 Addicted Heroin [2/10] - Haven't watched this weeks episode yet. My review for the first two is here.
🇹🇼 First Note of Love [4/12] - I like them a lot. And I like the pacing of this. I love the intro song. But with a second couple being introduced I think I'm gonna get frustrated having to wait a week for a 20 minute episode. I felt that way a lot during Kiseki.
🇯🇵 I Hear the Sunspot [10/12] - I am annoyed.
🇹🇭 I Saw You In My Dream [7/12] - May the boyfriend era commence. I am enjoying this one. I'm guessing we still have a bit of angst coming and I'm hoping for a good explanation for the dreams.
🇯🇵 Mitsuya Sensei no Keikakutekina Ezuke [6/7] - Just such an incredible show. This week brought the pain and I'm still unwell. As if Frito getting sick wasn't heart breaking enough, that ending left me in tears. I cannot believe we only have one episode left. I am not ready to say goodbye to the three of them.
🇹🇭 Monster Next Door [6/12] - My favourite thing about this is definitely Big. His presence on screen is great. But I'm not fully connecting yet for some reason.
🇹🇭 Peaceful Property [1/10] - It's a lot of fun. Yeah, I know it's not a bl. But it's bl adjacent so it goes here. Also in my head it's gonna be a bl no matter what. Possibly even with a gl side couple. The mind is a powerful thing.
🇯🇵Sugar Dog Life [4/10] - I love Isumi. I really liked that they didn't drag the girl storyline and it served it's purpose. Isumi is now very much aware of it's feelings. I'm looking forward to the date episode.
🇯🇵 Takara No Vidro [9/11] - Takara, my love. This boy has my whole heart. I can't believe I'll have to say goodbye to then tomorrow. I'm bracing for part pain, part happy. Please Japan don't let me down.
🇹🇭 The Loyal Pin [1/16] - I'm waiting to binge.
🇹🇼 The On1y One [4/10] - This show will hurt and I will love every second of it. I really like the look of this show and how we get those little insights into Jiang at the end of the episode. The actors are doing great and I specially love Benjamin Tsang facial expressions. I'm curious to see these two together and how their dynamic will work considering their circumstances. Also, always happy to see the revolving door of cameos Taiwan always grace us with.
🇯🇵Twilight Out of Focus - It's so beautiful. I'm enjoying that we get different couples even if sometimes it feels like we could have more time with them. I like Rei/Shion a lot, but I do miss Mao and Hisashi. 🇹🇭 The Trainee [10/12] - Just to get it out if the way, the Bamhee/Judy storyline was definitely the right call and @lurkingshan was right all along. Also the way the office came together was delightful and it's great to see Pah getting everyone together and once again being the best friend ever. Now. THE OFFICE FLIRTING!!! I was losing my mind giggling like an idiot. I love them. It's pretty obvious at this point that it's mutual and of course Ryan will need to actually be told that, but I still think Jane will wait until the internship is over before confessing or starting anything official. I can't wait to watch all the interns reaction next week. I love it here.
QL - Finished
🇯🇵 Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko! - I'm disappointed in this one. It started off so strong but by the end it lost me. I love Hiroko but I feel like they betrayed the character. And that ending with the kiss in the office was ridiculous. Actually most of the end was weird in the way that it seemed to contradict what came before. I like that they finally got together but it didn't feel as good as it could've.
🇹🇭 Century of Love - Started of great and imo fell apart by the end. I don't think it was consistent all the way through and the mythology was all over the place. Daou did an amazing job though. Also Ju is one of the greatest female characters of the year.
🇯🇵 Cosmetic Playlover - Pretty show. Final thoughts here.
🇹🇭 Knock Knock, Boys! - Probably the biggest surprise of the year for me. It's great. I like the development of both couples. Even if near the end I got a tiny bit annoyed with Peak, I really liked the conclusion of it all. Latte is a great character and the very rare slut unjudged by the narrative.
🇹🇭🇨🇳 Meet You At the Blossom - Look it's great that we got a chinese bl, but this was not it for me. Let's hope this one helps get others made though.
🇹🇭Love Sea - It was fine. I enjoyed Mut but in general I just never connected to this show. And Muk annoyed me to no end. I was so happy to see Aya again and now I just wanna forget that she was ever in this and simply remember her as Yiwa.
🇹🇭 SunsetxVibes - I don't even have words. I don't know if it was my lack of attention or if it never actually made sense but I never really got what the mythology was all about apart from inspiring a truly horrendous looking necklace. I was slogging though this one and I guess the finale was fine.
🇹🇭 This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans - The sides were great, their chemistry was on point. I really wanna see them again. The mains were my favourite thing about Pit Babe but I just didn't like them here.
🇹🇭 The Rebound - I just have to accept that MeenPing will always have bad scripts. They are pretty together but this was a mess.
Dropped

Japanese QL Corner
One of my favorite shows of the year comes to an end, and we continue to be blessed with another great Japanese drama with queer themes. This first show is on Gaga and the second is available via fan sub, and I highly recommend watching both! And in case you haven't heard, a full series version of I Hear the Sunspot is taking over this timeslot, so we'll be kicking that off next week!
At 25:00 in Akasaka

We come to the end with Hayama and Shirasaki, and what a sweet ending it was. This is officially my favorite jbl of 2024, and I am so happy it stuck the landing. Also fascinated that counter trope and genre expectations, there was not actually a classic jbl run in this show! Hayama technically ran after Shirasaki when he tried to slink out in the morning, but it happened mostly offscreen and was not in the usual mode of the big realization followed by the frantic run. Hayama thought he had already made himself quite clear, but our Shirasaki needs to be told things several times and with no ambiguity before they will sink in, god bless him. I loved seeing the instant relief in every line of Hayama's body when he finally realized the misunderstanding that was getting in the way, and immediately cleared it up. I also love the way the show faked us out on the show within a show ending, and we saw today that it was definitely a happy one. I do have one real critique: we are missing a beat or two that would have more clearly landed the arc on Shirasaki's lack of confidence both in love and his career. But that is a minor complaint. This is a great drama and everyone should watch it!
Bonus: Ossan no pantsu ga nandatte ii janai ka
Tumblr media
Episodes 5 - 7 have been made available on @isaksbestpillow's blog, and I got to watch 5 and 6 before posting this. I still love this show to pieces. I continue to love that this show makes time for all its characters and their struggles. In episode 5, we got to spend more time with Daichi and Madoka and see the origin of their love story, as well as see Makoto learn that being an ally is a bit more complicated than he realized when he accidentally outed them at a family BBQ. I loved this conflict because it made perfect sense for Makoto to think he was doing the right thing by welcoming Madoka and explicitly acknowledging who he is to Daichi--he was trying to express his interest and make it clear they were safe with him. But Madoka is not out and this immediately put him into a state of fear and anxiety. Makoto has much more to learn!
In episode 6 we got to see him process and sincerely apologize for that, and I loved that he asked Daichi not to give up on him. He really is trying his best, but he is simply not equipped for some of the nuances around these issues yet. We also got to see more about Mika in this episode and explore the ways her family takes her for granted. All she wanted was a couple minutes of acknowledgment of her hard work, but they were all too wrapped up in their own stuff to notice. Her thoughts on how women are often expected to give up on their dreams to be caretakers were heartbreaking and resonant, and I really liked that Makoto figured out on his own how they had fucked up and came up with an idea for making her feel seen. The family banding together to get her those kpop tickets was just adorable.
Tagging @bengiyo for a manga update.

I just finished Triage and was pretty impressed with the plot. Altho I mostly love love-centered BLs/QLs, it made me realize I really like plot-heavy ones (especially action/thriller/mystery) if they're done well. Can you look through what I've seen and let me know if I'm missing any good ones?
Ones I thought succeeded to varying extents: Triage, Not Me, Manner of Death, 3 Will Be Free, The Eclipse, Pit Babe, The Sign
Ones I thought fell short plot-wise (but still kinda appreciated for trying): KinnPorsche, Playboyy, Laws of Attraction
(And I've seen others with actiony/mystery plots but I consider the romantic plot to be more dominant so I don't think of them the same way: Long Time No See, Candy Colored Paradox, Kiseki Dear to Me, Never Let Me Go etc...hope that makes my ask clearer....)
Thanks! Appreciate you!
I live for this shit!
Plot heavy (driven) BL/QL
(external motivation)
Tumblr media
Liked:
Triage *
Not Me *
Manner of Death *
3 Will Be Free *
The Eclipse
Pit Babe
The Sign
The ones I put an * by are ones that I barely consider BL because they are so very plot heavy.
It's Okay:
KinnPorsche
Playboyy
Laws of Attraction
Also seen, but more romance
Long Time No See
Candy Colored Paradox
Kiseki Dear to Me
Never Let Me Go
Hum, difficult, because I see very little difference between Pit Babe and KP and Kiseki. So I'm gonna spitball a bunch of BL that edges into gay romantic suspense (or in some cases horror / PNR) and see if any hit. These will mostly be Thailand, only Taiwan also dabbles in this sub-genre, and rarely (because of the expense).
He's Coming to Me
Dear Doctor, I'm Coming for Your Soul (similar team as Triage so def worth trying, it's PNR tho)
Great Men Academy (an odd pick but I think it might work for you)
HIStory 3: Trapped (the first one I thought of after reading your ask)
Golden Blood
To Sir, With Love (more of a soap opera)
Because of You
Ghost Host Ghost House (more horror than suspense)
Chinese stuff:
My Esports Genius Brother (it's WILD)
Word of Honor (censored)
The Untamed (censored)
Guardian (censored)
SCI Mysteries (censored)
Advance Bravely (censored)
Legend of Long Yang: Rebirth
This is one of the few times I'll rec this because this is kinda China's BL speciality and one of the many reasons the censorship is so annoying. Their product is quality... sigh. Bummer it also has to be evil.
Not as much suspense + action but stil external motivation + complex plot (earned romantic threads)
AKA Korea can play, too.
Color Rush
Until We Meet Again
Love For Love's Sake
I Feel You Linger in the Air
La Pluie
Unintentional Love Story
Tinted With You
Vice Versa
My Dear Gangster Oppa
DNA Says Love You
Be My Favorite
Stay By My Side
Two Worlds
The End Of The World, With You AKA Bokura no Micro na Shuumatsu
First Love Again
Twins
Oh! My Sunshine Night
Cupid's Last Wish
Absolute Zero
So Much In Love (PULP warning)
(These tend to be my personal favorite style of BL. Although some are much less successful than others, in order with best ones at the top.)

The Sign finale probably should have disappointed me, but... didn't?
Tumblr media
It's been a heck of a run lately with Thai BLs that haven't quite stuck the landing, and it's got me pondering why The Sign worked for me despite sometimes feeling like a storyboard for a longer, better show.
I don't think they pulled off the emotional payoff they needed, despite that last reunion scene being so pretty and well-acted, simply because too much happened offscreen, from Khem's recovery from a gunshot wound to the entire multlifetime Tharn/Chalothon dynamic getting resolved without us seeing any of it. But somehow I wasn't that mad about it? And ultimately I think it's because this show did so many things well and so many things I'd love to see more of that I'm just like, yep, I enjoyed that ride sirs, please show me something this gorgeous again. In that sense it's joining something like Manner of Death or Kinnporsche where it's like, plot holes? Yes. Bizarre tonal shifts? Absolutely. Occasionally insane writing choices? Uh-huh. Love it anyway? You betcha. So here's what really, really worked for me:
Premise
I am always going to be onboard with QL that isn't solely coming-of-age or coming out. I'm not against those stories, of course, but give me gay romance with adult characters who know themselves and are doing adult things. I'm also a partisan for romances with high external stakes, so the mixture of crime and reincarnation was catnip to me.
Tumblr media
Do I care that none of this training makes any sense? No.
2. Setting
Listen. Is The Sign the reason I have a document on my laptop titled "Imaginary trip to Thailand without ever seeing a beach?" Not exactly. But it's also not not the reason.
Tumblr media
I am being willingly manipulated by the Thai Tourism Authority.
Kidding, kidding, but I do love when my Thai shows feel Thai or my Korean shows feel Korean, etc etc. I want to be driven to Wikipedia to learn more! Half the fun of watching stuff from not your own country.
3. Chemistry
I think @biochemjess covered what was underwritten about the romance in The Sign. Billy and Babe carried it on their backs and it was hard to dislike their romance, even when the series skipped over key beats.
Tumblr media
Any time the pink lighting came out, you were gonna be in for a good time.
4. The camerawork
I don't know enough about film to speak intelligently about this, but the camerawork and aesthetics of this show were just so lovely to watch. It was really doing a lot. @chaos0pikachu wrote about it better than I ever could.
Tumblr media
LOVED THIS. LOVED IT. So good.
We had some really lovely storytelling and visual parallels, too, like the first episode and finale both having a big action warehouse scene, or the multiple times that Phaya and Tharn ended up overlooking the Mekong river.
5. It was always kinda off the rails
I know some people felt this show started out with a strong premise and didn't live up to it, but I gotta say, I didn't have that experience. It was always kinda a bonkers watch for me. There were long training montages, random bodies in the shallows, missing genitals, extended performance art, that comedy flashback to Khem and Thongthai's college years... I never knew what I was going to get each Saturday. And I kind of loved that? I'm into unhinged. I was comparing this in my head to Last Twilight, which did disappoint me in the end, and I think it's because Last Twilight was NOT always bonkers and DID set itself up to tell a straighforward story, then dropped the ideas it had been juggling in the last episode. The Sign always felt chaotic to me, so a chaotic ending was par for the course. This is where I'd compare it to KinnPorsche, which had the weirdest fucking ending, but like, okay??? Why not!
Tumblr media
End result? I see the flaws, but I'm giving this show tender forehead kisses anyway. Here's hoping for more like it.

Hi, Queen! I'm on bedrest after a surgery I had last week and is currently watching QLs all day. I'm flying through some high heat ones atm and loving every minute although I'm physically uncomfortable. To some it may be controversial to say this, but I connect more with the high heat stuff than the romance because that's who I am irl too.
Anygay, I think I've seen you write about high heat shows before and was wondering what your favorite sex scenes in QLs are?
I'm only about 100 QLs into my journey after almost a year of watching. Most of them are Korean before I found Thai QLs and then Japanese, Taiwanese, and some Vietnamese. You have watched many more than me so could you give me your best tips? My favorites so far are everything in Bed Friend and the one at the hotel/motel in the Pornographer movie. What are yours?
I hope you have an amazing day!
Hi, @whatevenisthishellhole (and the three Anons who sent me similar asks when 4 Minutes was airing)!
Excuse my late reply. I've been super busy throwing paint at canvases a la the boys in I Saw You in My Dream (not quite, but similar). I've also been battling with this post for a day or two since I had to remove a lot of the gifs and videos I originally added to this post to get it unflagged. But, here we are!
First, I hope your surgery went well and I'm happy that you're having a great time even though you're uncomfortable.
Second, it's not controversial to say you like the high heat stuff! Unless you're a child. But neither you nor I am.
I absolutely get where you're coming from. As someone who prefers sexual relationships over romantic ones, I also prefer the high heat shows/films (even though I also watch shows/films that don't include sex). We're all different, just like it's supposed to be. And since you and I both seem to like the high heat stuff, let's talk about it, shall we?
Also, even though we often talk about heat levels regarding QLs, what we consider high or low heat is very individual for all of us. So, I've chosen to include scenes that I personally rank mid to higher heat levels to give some range. And I've chosen scenes that show different ways of having sex because I like variety.
And, btw, thank you for writing "sex scenes" and not "NC scenes" because I have beef with the latter term (which is super weird considering I'm a vegetarian. But, anyway...).
Third, I don't get triggered. So I suggest that you (and anyone else reading this) look up possible trigger warnings before you dive into most shows in this post if you're sensitive to anything in particular.
Fourth (and the last one before we get into the good stuff, I promise), I've watched 350+ QL shows/films in about 14 months (it was my escape last year as I tried to survive some grief, which is why the number is so high) and I have a terrible memory. There's a chance I've forgotten most of the ones I liked. But I will try to remember (lol).
With all that said, let's finally dive into my list (which I've gathered in no particular order)!
My Favorite Sex Scenes in QLs
Mike and Jack in Twins (Thailand)
To be honest, the heat level can be discussed here. But! I wanted to include this scene because Mike and Jack were everything to me when Twins was airing (and had I been on tumblr at the time, I would've screamed about these two) because they were friends with benefits who stayed that way without getting into a romantic relationship (which I want to see more of since romantic relationship aren't the be-all and end-all for everyone).
Tumblr media
Ryou and Anda + Thee and Jet in Love Stage!! (Thailand)
I couldn't find a gif of the scene I like, but it was in the 6th or 7th episode or something. It's the sequence where Ryou and Anda's sex scene is interwoven with Thee (Anda's brother) and Jet (his secret boyfriend) also having sex.
Tumblr media
Phat and Saengtai in La Pluie (Thailand)
I missed this when it was airing in 2023 but watched it earlier this year instead. And I loved it so much (one of my absolute favorite shows I've watched this year). One of the reasons is the chemistry and sexual tension between Phat and Saengtai, which is on fire when they almost have sex at Saengtai's apartment, when Saengtai sucks Phat's dick, and when they have sex at Phat's apartment.
All three of those scenes are great. But I particularly love the scene at Phat's apartment because, now that Saengtai feels ready, Phat gets to give Saengtai pleasure too.
Tumblr media
Rak and Mahasamut in Love Sea (Thailand)
Of course I'm listing Mut fucking Rak's face on my list because that scene was iconic! (I couldn't find a gif of that particular moment, but this one is from the same scene that leads up to Mut fucking Rak's face:)
Tumblr media
Charlie and Babe in Pit Babe (Thailand)
Honestly, this scene was almost omitted from my list because the racing cutting into the important shit every fucking second is driving me nuts (lmao!). But Charlie's gaze and Babe's facial expressions convinced me to add it anyway. So, here we are.
Tumblr media
Alan and Jeff in Pit Babe (Thailand)
Their first time was good, but their sex scene in the last episode was great. The way they were looking at each other, the way they were kissing and touching each other... I loved it.
Tumblr media
Thantatch and Lomnaw in 2 Moons: The Ambassador (Thailand)
If I remember correctly, I thought most of this show was meh, especially in the beginning. But! I remember I was surprised to see sex scenes in the 2 Moons series because there hadn't been anything beyond kissing and removing shirts in the previous ones.
The two scenes I liked most in this one were the ones where Thantatch and Lomnaw suck each other's dicks.
This is the lead-up to the first one where Lomnaw sucks Thantatch's dick:
Tumblr media
And this is during the second one where Thantatch is doing wicked shit to Lomnaw under the blanket:
Tumblr media
To be honest, these scenes are a bit sweeter than savory for me, but they still make the cut because the acting felt very natural, and, again, I was pleasantly surprised with these scenes (and the other sex scenes in this show).
King and Uea in Bed Friend (Thailand)
Just like you, I loved Bed Friend. Mainly for the chemistry between Net and James.
Honestly, you can't make me choose which sex scene I liked most because I loved them all. Even King's jump up on the bed.
But I just want to say that the lighting was immaculate in this particular scene:
Tumblr media
(It took me ages to try and find a gif of this before I gave up and went with a static screenshot instead, lol.)
Mangkorn and Yai in Big Dragon (Thailand)
I don't necessarily vibe with Mos and Bank's cutesy stuff, but I love them when they throw high heat at me like they did at Mangkorn's place in Big Dragon.
Sailom and Namnuea in Wedding Plan (Thailand)
The moment when Sailom could finally be himself around Namnuea, after all those years of hiding himself because of his family and to protect his best friend (Yiwa), was everything to me. Sailom was starving, and Namnuea was more than willing to let himself be devoured.
Tumblr media
Nueng and Anueng in Blank (season 2) (Thailand)
As someone with a biting kink, this scene was made especially for me. And I appreciated every fucking millisecond of it.
Tumblr media
(Sidenote: I would let Faye do whatever she wants with me.)
Ji and Achi in To Be Continued (Thailand)
Their first time (in the past) was great (up until the point where misunderstandings and miscommunication happened, but let's forget that for a moment, lol). They both wanted it so bad that it was palpable. And I loved this scene just as much as I loved these two miscommunicating idiots.
Tumblr media
Kawin and Pluem in Ghost Host Ghost House (Thailand)
If I remember correctly (which I might not), I think we only got two sex scenes in this show, and I loved them both. So I'm obviously including both.
First, we have their first sex scene, which has a build-up that's amazing (this video is longer than the scene in the actual show, btw).
Then we have the scene after they reunite in the last episode (I also think this one is longer than the scene in the show).
Jom and Yai in I Feel You Linger in the Air (Thailand)
Since I'm an ice queen who has a hard time crying, I tend to get obsessed with things that melt my ice and open up my floodgates. This is the first and only time that I can remember having cried while watching a sex scene. That's partly why I love it so much.
It is beautiful and emotional because Yai knows that he will eventually lose Jom. That grief hit me so hard (which is why I cry every time I rewatch this show) even though Yai hasn't lost Jom yet. It's just so beautiful and one of my absolute favorite sex scenes.
Gao Shi De and Zhou Shu Yi in We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd (Taiwan)
Heat level can be discussed, but this scene is filled with so much emotion, angst, and desperation that I can't help but love it.
Chen Yi and Ai Di in Kiseki: Dear to Me (Taiwan)
Heat level can be discussed, I'm just here for the chemistry and the neon lights, because both are amazing (and I'm such a slut for neon lights).
Tumblr media
Tharn and Phaya in The Sign (Thailand)
I loved their chemistry and I loved all the neon lights in this scene (have I mentioned that I'm a slut for neon lights?).
Tumblr media
Aob and Puen in Playboyy (Thailand)
This tattooed daddy and his baby were everything to me in Playboyy. Aob had some solid walls around his heart, but when it came to taking care of his baby, he delivered with a solid handjob.
Tumblr media
Sky and Prapai in Love in the Air (Thailand)
Their first time is great (the neon lights in that scene are gorgeous). But the sex scene I like the most with these two characters is the one in the special episode where Prapai fucks Sky on the conference table at his office. I mean, Prapai unbuttoned Sky's pants with his fucking teeth. That boy was hungry.
Tumblr media
Sun Bo Xiang and Lu Zhi Gang in History 3: Make Our Days Count (Taiwan)
Let's forget the ending of this show and just focus on these two for a moment because their first time was such a spur-of-the-moment thing (in the gym after lockdown, btw) fueled by a desire that went from 0-100kph in less time than a Ferrari would. I loved it!
Tumblr media
Tan and Bun in Manner of Death (Thailand)
I can't make a list of my favorite sex scenes without including Max and Tul in MOD. I mean... Max is fucking fisting his hands in Tul's hair. And sucking lips.
Tumblr media
And they're plant dads! What more could I want? (Transplant. That's the more I want.)
Mingmueang and Namning in Be Mine Superstar (Thailand)
I can barely remember anything about this series except Mingmueang and Namning. Their chemistry was on fire. And there's just something about Jo (who plays Namning) that pulls my attention to him. I can't take my eyes away. Pairing him with Bosston (Mingmueang)... I'm still hoping their spin-off will see the light of day. Pretty fucking please!
Tumblr media
The Novelist/Pornographer + Mood Indigo (Japan)
I'll be honest and say that I love every scene in this whole series from the first show to the last short (I have a sweet spot for the darker and more complex Japanese stuff). And that includes the sex scenes.
If I were to pick my favorite one, though, I would agree with you, @whatevenisthishellhole and say the hotel scene is fire.
Tumblr media
(Also, as an advocate of safe and comfortable sex, I especially love the scene in Mood Indigo where Rio is stretching his anus to prepare himself for penetrative sex.)
Kim Sung Min and Yoo Joo Hyuk in Love Class Season 2 (Korea)
This scene is iconic to me when it comes to Korean BLs. I can't remember if I've ever seen anything like this in a Korean BL before (but, again, my memory is fucked, so feel free to remind me of how wrong I am). I've seen this and more explicit scenes in one or two gay films, but not that I can remember in any Korean BLs.
Anyway...
I love the buildup of the scene, which starts on their date, and all the way throughout this scene. It feels real, the chemistry is amazing, and it has a more mature vibe (as in, two adults who are confident, comfortable with each other, and know what they want). I love it so much.
Tumblr media
Jao and Wayu Two Worlds (Thailand)
I'm sorry Max and Nat, but these two stole this show for me.
Let's forget for a moment that Jao has been badly wounded, had a fever, and that, apparently, sex can heal everything (especially if it's sex on the floor of an abandoned cabin in the middle of the woods). Because let's be honest, this scene was great in every sense of the word.
Tumblr media
It was beautiful, it was raw, the lighting was gorgeous (I have to include the visuals as the artist I am), the way they were looking at each other, the way they moved. I mean, fuck me, this was a great scene.
Kinn and Porsche in KinnPorsche (Thailand)
I can't make a list like this and not include KP. And, for me personally, the pool scene is the best Kinn and Porsche sex scene.
Tumblr media
Vegas and Pete in KinnPorsche (Thailand)
And since I love toxic little shits (Vegas being one of my favorites) as well as KP, I obviously had to add Vegas and Pete's sex scene as well.
Tumblr media
Also, I'm such a slut for the neon colors in this one!
Korn and Tonkla in 4 Minutes (Thailand)
Say what you will about Korn's performance (or lack thereof) but Bas and Fuaiz acted the fucking shit out of their scenes. My favorite sex scene with Korn and Tonkla was the one in the first episode because it said so much about their dynamic (sugar daddy/sugar baby, Korn's needs taking priority, Tonkla wanting more, etc.). It was everything I wanted and more (the more being Bas's ass).
Tumblr media
Great and Tyme in 4 Minutes (Thailand)
I mean... Great got his ass eaten...
Tumblr media
Shin, Neo, and Miw in 3 Will Be Free (Thailand)
I'm a sucker for poly and would love to see more of that in our beloved QLs. So I ate up every single crumb of the little I got from this group in 3 Will Be Free (but I'm still starving, lol).
Tumblr media
That's the end of the primary list of my favorites.
Looking back on it now, I wish I had more GLs on my list. Unfortunately, the ones I've watched are either too cute (which I don't vibe well with), too tame (for me at least) or don't include sex at all, or I probably haven't watched it yet (I've watched less than 20 so far). If you have any recommendations of great GLs, then, for the love of everything holy, send them my way! I'm starving over here, lol.
Others
I have a few more sex scenes that aren't my personal favorites (which is what you specifically asked for) but they're still good:
Ritsu and Masumi in The End of the World With You (Japan), all their sex scenes were very close to being on my favorites list (especially with Ritsu's laser focus on Masumi) but they don't feel as real to me as most of the others on my list above.
Rain and Payu in Love in the Air (Thailand), specifically the sex scene after Payu raced against the asshole (can't remember his name, lol).
Kita and Nathee in Beyond the Star (Thailand), their chemistry is amazing but I think I was too bored by the whole show to care, lol. These characters are played by Willi and Focus who are also in Battle of the Writers (which is currently airing) and they have even more amazing chemistry now.
There were some great sex scenes in For Him (Thailand) as well, but the production lost the story (and me) somewhere in the middle/end.
DIY
Sex doesn't need to be had with a partner (or several) either, so I want to highlight some solo parties too:
Yai in Big Dragon (Thailand) has a good time while looking at a photo of Mangkorn's hands.
Atom in The Rebound (Thailand) is thinking about Zen as he's masturbating and gets emotional.
Almond tries out a dildo in Knock Knock, Boys! (Thailand).
Miyata in Love is Better the Second Time Around (Japan) jerks off in the shower while thinking about Iwanaga.
Army in The Warp Effect (Thailand) also jerks off in the shower while thinking about his past love interest Joe.
Mut in Love Sea (Thailand) is also jerking off in the shower, but Rak decides to help him.
I'm pretty sure I've seen more masturbation scenes, but I can't seem to remember any more right now so these will have to do.
Other QLs that Highlight Sex in Different Ways
Before I hit publish on this post, I also want to share some QLs that highlight/talk about sex in different ways (besides the ones I've already mentioned throughout this post).
Knock Knock, Boys! (Thailand)
I know that you already know about this one, @whatevenisthishellhole. But, for anyone else wanting to watch a show that openly talks about sex and pansexuality in particular, this is a great one.
Tumblr media
Let's Talk About CHU (Taiwan)
To be fair, this is primarily a straight show but it does have a gay pair that I absolutely love!
It also highlights sex from different perspectives and angles. For example, there are different age groups (from the youngest daughter in the central family to the parents in the same family), different types of relationships (fwb, creditor/debtor or gangster/gambler, two marriages whereby one has lasted 30+ years), and, as I mentioned, both straight and gay relationships.
Tumblr media
(Fun fact: Helena Hsu, who plays Gao Shi De's mom in We Best Love, is also in this series.)
The Warp Effect (Thailand)
This queer show has a diverse set of characters (queer and straight) and a diverse range of relationships. It also highlights sex from different perspectives and the effects and consequences sex can have. It also includes some of the best female characters I've seen in queer shows from Thailand, and I love them so fucking much.
Tumblr media
Final Words
Those are all the scenes I can remember at this point. I'm sure there are several that I've missed and some that I will remember as soon as I hit publish on this. But this will have to do for now.
I hope you find something you like.
And, thanks for your ask!

Another QL Poll
I was tagged by @lurkingshan to continue the poll trend.
Tumblr media
Hiroko reminds me of an old friend that I miss often. She also fucked, and also felt strongly about not getting emotionally caught up in a straight girl. I love that she's super competent at work in a way that inspires her juniors to rely upon her. She's also willing to get her hands dirty and help with stuff.
Tumblr media
Latte also fucks, and everyone who's been with him that we've met seems to have enjoyed their time with him, and is happy to encounter him again. This is really restorative for all the slut-shaming we find in this genre and media in general. Latte is a good friend, and he's emotionally present in almost every conversation he's having. I love him so much, and I love the way he takes care of Almond.
Tumblr media
Taichi fights! He went to the school of Talk Shit, Get Hit and I fucks with that! He's a friendly and sociable boy hiding a lot of loneliness and abandonment underneath that veneer. I totally see how he recognized that in Kohei and connected to him right away. He's not perfect, but he is earnest and honest.
Tumblr media
Jane is not paid enough for the amount of disrespect he receives for trying to hold this entire operation together. This man is always working, but he's not egotistical about winning the glory. He is as quick to praise people's work as he is to tell them they screwed up. I have been him, and I have worked alongside him. He is going to burn out within two years and not be able to work for six months.
Tumblr media
I love a tsundere that will tell you to your face you're being a bit creepy even as he helps you and offers useful advice. I can't wait to learn what angst he's been carrying, and what he seeks in hiking the way he does. What I do know is that he is observant and kind, and I love him for that.
I'll go ahead and tag @shortpplfedup, @negrowhat, @so-much-yet-to-learn, @gaylittlepieceofsh1t, and @littleragondin

BL Wrapped 2023
A little bit late, but I wanted to make sure to do this for my own records! I've watched so many shows now, it helps to have something down more formally to remember stuff.
A few notes:
This includes shows that started in 2022 and finished in 2023.
No shows that are currently still airing - how the ending lands is too critical for me.
There's some shows I know I'm going to love that I just haven't had time to see yet, so if there are any shocking absences, that's probably why.
Total # of QL watched: 37 (35 BLs, 2 GLs) (really looking forward to more GL offerings next year)
Favorite Thai shows:
Bed Friends
Tumblr media
I was not the biggest fan of Cutie Pie, so entered this one with a fair amount of skepticism. But what a lovely surprise. Uea was such an incredible lead and so well-characterized, his trauma was handled seriously, and though there were occasional hiccups due to drama, overall King was such a respectful and supportive partner. And let's not forget the cat ears.
Laws of Attraction
Tumblr media
What a ride this show was! I had not watched To Sir with Love, so had no familiarity with Jam or Film, but they were amazing here. The side couple of disaster muffin + loving bodyguard were pitch perfect, there were fantastic women characters who actually had significant roles in the story, and who can forget our wonderful chaotic Nawin? The story was compelling, the emotional points hit, and even when it leaned towards the ridiculous, it always remained aware of what it was.
My School President
Tumblr media
I still remember watching the trailer for Our Skyy 2 and noticing two random dudes I had never seen before. Little did I know!
I don't have much to say except that this was pure charm from start to finish, and Fourth & Gemini were a delight. Pure comfort watch.
Unforgotten Night
Tumblr media
I SAID WHAT I SAID! (and yes this aired in 2022, I was late)
Look, I know a lot of people thought of this purely as a trash watch, but it's so much more than that. I wrote a whole post on it. It was fantastic. I apologize for nothing.
Favorite Korean shows:
Our Dating Sim
Tumblr media
I adored this show from start to finish. I could understand the motivations of both characters, I was deeply invested in their relationship, and they felt so utterly natural once they got together. 10/10, no notes.
Jun & Jun
Tumblr media
This was a little messy at times, and missed an opportunity to lean more into D/s dynamics, but I really liked all the characters, the leads had great chemistry, and it was refreshing to see a Korean BL be more open about sexual desire in a relationship.
Favorite Japanese Shows:
The End of the World With You
Tumblr media
This one could have easily gone off the rails. End of the world stories can be very tricky to pull off. But there was such a solid emotional core to the storytelling, and it kept such a hold of my heart.
My Personal Weatherman
Tumblr media
One thing I think Japan does extremely well is stories about people who have extremely deep internal lives, but don't show much on the surface. As someone quite introverted, who keeps a lot of things on the inside, I relate a lot to this. This show did such a good job of showing how challenging it can be to communicate with those we love, and the rewards once you are able to break through and really understand each other.
Favorite Taiwanese Shows:
Kiseki: Dear to Me
Tumblr media
Of course it's Kiseki. This series was amazing. I don't care we never really understood any of the mafia stuff, that was all set dressing for some of the best couple work ever.
Honorable Mention:
Midnight Museum
Tumblr media
I will never stop calling this a BL. Some day GMMTV will realize that Gun has too much chemistry with other people to keep him only with Off. Also, we got Nanon playing evil, which was so sexy.

Hey, I hope you had a nice new years! I really hope I'm not offending you with this ask, I really mean no offense at all. I've noticed that you post about 50% ql drama content and 50% kpop content on here and I followed you for one of those. Would it maybe be possible to tag all ql drama related content with something like "#ql drama" and all kpop content with "#kpop" or something? that way people who are only interested in one of those can avoid the other. I'm just asking because you post/reblog many posts every day (not a bad thing!) and since I'm not really interested in 50% of it it's a lot of scrolling, because I love the other 50% and I like your personality so much that I don't want to unfollow you. Again, I hope this doesn't come off as an attack and it's just a suggestion, if you don't want to do it, I'm not going to unfollow you or anything. I hope you're having a lovely day!
hi!! it doesn't come off as rude don't worry i get what you mean bun. relentless posting like this is a lot. you can filter 2 tags #ateez and #atzblogging and you won't see any of the kpop stuff! i rarely reblog different kpop artists these days. i actually made a post offering ql people to mute those when i realised the hyperfixation was about to be a hard one but you might have understandably missed it between hundreds of other posts. can you please send a follow up ask if you meant that you don't want to see the ql stuff? because i don't really want to start adding a general tag on qls but will make something up if needed

thinking about the qiao ling-lu guang section of the time trio.
the way I see it, qiao ling sees lu guang as cheng xiaoshi's first ever genuine friend. she has her own friends and is pretty sociable as a person, but cheng xiaoshi doesn't have that. sure, he acts pretty friendly, but we know he's had to work for that. that his situation with his parents was incredibly isolating and created a disconnect between him and others.
this is probably part of why qiao ling lowkey tried to vet lg early on in their relationship with the whole "why do you like cxs?" deal. but by the time the series kicks off, she's pretty sure lg is trustworthy.
I do think qiao ling considers lu guang a friend herself, but importantly, I think she considers him cheng xiaoshi's friend *first*. cheng xiaoshi hasn't had this before and she doesn't want to risk taking it from him. which is how you end up with cxs basically acting as the hinge between lg and ql.
and from a meta perspective, qiao ling somewhat keeping her distance and letting shiguang get on with things means that she probably has a somewhat different view of their relationship and lu guang's personality than the audience at this stage. she's seen them in general day-to-day situations and definitely has an idea of the whole cheng xiaoshi pestering-lu guang scolding dynamic, but stuff like diving? how they act together in high-stakes situations? we know she was largely kept out of that prior to s2. and in s2, lu guang was largely kept apart from her and cxs until the very last episode.
does she have any idea how far cheng xiaoshi's trust for lu guang extends? does she realise how much lu guang is fighting to control? I know I keep coming back to this, but it's fascinating what throwing her the fragment about lu guang's backstory achieves. she's disconnected enough to have a perspective outside of the shiguang dynamic. the pieces she's missing about lu guang might actually make her more able to accept what he's capable of than cheng xiaoshi in the end. and more able to get through to lu guang too, because they're not close enough for it to wreck their relationship in the same way. but at the same time, she's still emotionally tied into this situation and she especially doesn't want cheng xiaoshi hurt or dead.
I do think she'll push through her denial eventually and make progress with lu guang, but there is a reason why she's in denial in the first place at the end of s2. the idea that there's been something so horrifying hiding beneath the surface all along.
her brother died and yet he still sits there in front of her, smiling. his friend, whom she thought she could trust, was there and hasn't said a word.
where was she?

GMMTV 2025 initial reactions 🏳️‍🌈
Dare To Death - Initial rating: 5/10 - Likelihood of watching it: mid - I was surprised by the blatant murder from GMMTV, normally they play it a little more safe. Looking forward to this one playing out, I’ll enjoy a bunch of idiot kids getting killed off. It admittedly didn’t come out the gate looking very strong, JoongDunk are decent but the push and pull is a tried trope and I don’t know if I believe either of them as a cop, but ya know, what can you do?
Head 2 Head - Initial rating: 3/10 - Likelihood of watching it: low - I feel like this is three series that I’ve already seen slapped together into one mess. It doesn’t know if it wants to repeat Bad Buddy’s childhood neighbours with a pointless grudge, the prophetic dreams of I Saw You In My Dreams as well as every rival uni student QL ever made. It looks like it’s going to be a mess in a less than fun way, also I’m not that interested in SeaKeen as a pairing.
Burnout Syndrome - Initial rating: 9/10 - Likelihood of watching it: very high - I am intrigued af, it’s been so long since we’ve seen Gun kiss another guy (on screen, he kisses dudes besides Off all the time). Last time that happened was in 2022 I think, in Club Sapan Fine season 2. This looks very messy and dark, plus there was so much naked Off in this pilot trailer! Artistic drawing of his dick even, I’m shooketh. It looks really mature and broody, which is exactly what I want for an OffGun piece, let them grow up please and thank you!
I Love “A Lot Of” You - Initial rating: 5/10 - Likelihood of watching it: mid - I’d ask if this was the only straight up (heh) hetero romance on the docket, but when I saw Junior show up I had a feeling that he might play a queer coworker so we shall see. Nanon looks amazing in this, he always looks amazing but that’s beside the point. This is a really interesting concept, although the idea of ‘curing’ DID that was mentioned a couple times didn’t sit well with me. That’s not exactly something you can fix, just control. I do love the visual of the alters talking to one another, having their own spaces. It kind of feels like how When Rabbit Howls was written, there’s a very clear and easy to understand spot for each alter and their unique personality. I’m tentatively looking forward to this one. Also Louis!! I will always watch something for him.
Whale Store xoxo - Initial rating: 4/10 - Likelihood of watching it: low-mid - I had a feeling MilkLove would get another headlining gig, it looks like a typical cute by the numbers basic QL that’s hitting a bunch of classic tropes. I could take it or leave it and not feel like I missed out on much, although I am disappointed that it seems like ViewJune is not going to become an official pairing.
Only Friends: Dream On - Initial rating: 7/10 - Likelihood of watching it: high - This one came completely out of left field for me, I was not expecting it whatsoever. Jojo is a hecka messy queer that I adore with all my heart, his stuff is always so much fun. I feel like I’ll probably like this one better than season one, because I seriously disliked so many of those characters and it just was kind of disappointing in a lot of ways, I mostly stuck around for FirstKhao. It’s nice to see EarthMix being messy and adult, OhmLeng are setting the groundwork to be a popular high heat couple and I have to admit, I was surprised JossGawin are sticking around for another series. I wasn’t sure if GMMTV was gonna keep them together, considering Gawin is kind of like Neo, in the fact that he has no issues being without a branded pairing. Speaking of Neo, having Boston show up to make things even more messy is fantastic. Jojo is chronically online, so I have no doubt he’s aware of the boy kissing spreadsheet that we have going, seems like he’s gonna get Neo into that number one spot for sure!
That Summer - Initial rating: 5/10 - Likelihood of watching it: mid-high - WinnySatang finally getting the headline chance the deserve, also seems like Mond is entering his era of boy kissing as well, after Only Friends it’s nice to see him still working in the QL sphere. Also more Neo, always a pleasure. The story admittedly seems very weak, but also extremely trope-y, which could be a good thing or a bad thing. But I will most likely end up enjoying it simply for the reasons stated above.
My Romance Scammer - Initial rating: 3/10 - Likelihood of watching it: low - I love seeing Ohm on my screen again, although him being partnered with a new Fluke just seems extremely on the nose lol. We see what you did there GMMTV. It’s nice to see not only a QL about marriage but also about divorce, especially now that it’s all legal in Thailand. That being said, this ain’t it for me. I don’t think this OhmFluke (😭) is gonna be very interesting, and I’ll just say it, I am so tired of JuniorMark. There, I said it! They were cute in Cherry Magic, but didn’t have enough of on screen chemistry to become a branded pairing, or at least I thought so. But what do I know? Either way, that’ll be a no from me dawg.
Melody Of Secrets - Initial rating: 5/10 - Likelihood of watching it: mid-high - I’m so over ForceBook! Yes, I said what I said. Get your pitchforks and come get me, it’s fine, I don’t mind. Not all pairings work for every viewer, and they’re one that just doesn’t work for me. I know they’ve known each other for like 25 years or something, which is why I’m always surprised at how dull they seem together. They’re clearly great friends, but their on screen romance is weak tit. That being said, this plot grabbed me right away. It’s again surprisingly gory looking for a GMMTV series, the story seems really interesting and dark. I am intrigued and will most likely watch it, ForceBook be damned, because I wanna know what’s happening.
Love You Teacher - Initial rating: 1/10 - Likelihood of watching it: nonexistent - Stop, no, just stop it right now. It went from what I thought was going to be a very cute concept, a couple that will be at odds because one wants kids and the other doesn’t, so he tries to figure out why his partner is so great with kids by becoming a preschool teacher at the say school at his partner. So cute, right!? But then the weird creepy swerve!? You cannot cut from them about to have teacher/student role play sex to one of them having a TBI that causes severe age regression! That is weird! Stop it right now GMMTV! Do not make a show about a couple where one has the mental capacity of a seven year old and tell me that’s romantic, what is wrong with you!? I get it, okay, taking care of his partner will teach him how he is capable of being not only a good teacher but also a good parent, and his partner will no doubt get an eleventh hour miracle cure that makes him no longer have the mind of a child. But everything up until that (hopefully inevitable ending) is just creepy and weird and PerthSanta deserve better than that!
MU-TE-LUV - Initial rating: 5/10 - Likelihood of watching it: mid - Anthology type series never really grab me, typically I only end up watching the episode about characters or actors I’m interested in and skipping the rest. Looks like a hot mess, which I may or may not enjoy. But I nearly died when Neo showed up as part of a the fabulous four queers, I am all here for that. Yatch is so pretty, he needs winged eyeliner all the time. Fluke has always been gorgeous, and I legit had no idea that was Lego at first, he’s prettier than half of the girls on the series. Neo is the only one who looks like a party city drag queen and for that I love him, tbh, they’re probably the only ones I give a damn about. Also if the man Fluke’s character gets isn’t played by Thor I am going to be very disappointed.
Cat For Cash - Initial rating: 7/10 - Likelihood of watching it: very high - Considering FirstKhao are the literal kitties of GMMTV 🐈‍⬛🐈 I think this was a stroke of marketing genius, adorably cute guys with equally cute cats? Sign me up! It seems like a very cut and dry romantic comedy, with a bit of family drama and some magic sprinkled in for fun. First being able to speak to cats is really cute, and making Khao cry in the pilot is unfair, they know we cannot withstand his tears! Also, side note, Cat For Cash would be a great name for a lesbian OnlyFans, just saying 😉
Girl Rules - Initial rating: 8/10 - Likelihood of watching it: very high - I did not have a messy lesbian ensemble QL on my bingo card and I have to say, I feel very stupid for not having it because damn if this looks like everything I want and more. MilkLove and NamtanFilm playing messy adult lesbians instead of cutesy lil school girls? Yes, sign me up! Again, disappointed the View is not working with June anymore, but her new acting partner looks like they’ll have some decent chemistry together. I also love that they blatantly said ‘lesbian’ and ‘I’m not straight’ in the pilot, like there’s no mistaking here, these gals are in it for the girls and the girls only. Bring on the bitchy cat fighting! Let’s got lesbians!!
Boys In Love - Initial rating: 6/10 - Likelihood of watching it: high mid - No idea who any of these boys are, they’re all adorable though and I wanna keep them all in my pocket! Even if they weren’t cute and the plot didn’t seem like a fun fluffy trope fest, I would still tune in for Papang and Podd. Please, for the love of God, let this be the thing that gets Papang out of second lead purgatory!! That man is too fine and too talented to constantly be riding the sidelines… so make him ride Podd instead. I know, I know, I’m terrible! But the joke was right there, I couldn’t not take it!
My Magic Prophecy - Initial rating: 7/10 - Likelihood of watching it: high - So much magic in 2025! So many fortune tellers and tarot card readers. As someone who studied tarot for over a decade and can read tarot cards, I am going to be an absolute annoyance about the layouts and readings in all of these shows, just an FYI. JimmySea is always a pleasure to have on screen, even though Jimmy is so fucking overworked, the dude wants to spend time overseas getting some specialization training for his MD but I doubt that’s gonna happen in the new year with this series in the works. It’s nice to see the doctor playing an actual doctor, like he had the knowledge, use it. It’s like when they had Mix play a vet in Vice Versa, it’s a little bit of fourth wall breaking and I appreciate it.
A Dog and A Plane - Initial rating: 4/10 - Likelihood of watching: mid - Uh, wow, what can I say about this? I love TayNew and I love MarcPoon, so I’ll probably watch it. Although I’ve never been a huge fan of the series with exaggerated comedic reactions that is so popular in Thai and Japanese series, it’s just something I’ve come to accept over the years lol. Also tend to hate infidelity storylines, not my cup of tea. But that being said, I will probably at least skim it or binge it once it’s all aired, just for TayNew and MarcPoon.
Me and Thee - Initial rating: 3/10 - Likelihood of watching it: low - I love PondPhuwin together, they’re funny and adorable and Pond is the only person that Phuwin seems to be able to kiss without being super awkward about it. Also more PerthSanta, GMMTV is really pushing for them huh? They haven’t even had a complete series together yet, Perfect 10 Liners is still focusing on ForceBook and MarcPoon. Yet the company seems to be putting all their eggs in the PerthSanta basket, which, aright I guess. I want Perth to flourish, he deserves success. Anyway, that being said, this just seems… cringe. Like it gave me the ick and I can’t even explain why, the acting wasn’t bad, the comedy wasn’t too over the top, it even made me laugh a couple times. There’s just something off and I can’t quite put my finger on it, hopefully it’ll be better than I feel like it will be.
WU - Initial rating: 8/10 - Likelihood of watching it: very high - So are SkyNani finally gonna kiss? Cause it feels like they’ve really should’ve kissed by now, I mean in HSF it seems like they did and we all somehow missed it? Anyway, this one drew me in right away. Colour me intrigued as hell! More tarot, more magic, a red string of fate, seeing the future. Kicking ass a taking names? Fuck yeah, this looks really really interesting! Now kiss please!
Memoir of Rati - Initial rating: 7/10 - Likelihood of watching: mid - This one looks sad, GreatInn are fantastic on screen together so that has it going for it. Also AouBoom, although please GMMTV how much do I have to pay for you to take those two out of side couple hell!?!? I’m fucking begging you! Give them their own series, they can carry it, I know they can. It’s worth noting that Rati is the name of the Hindu goddess of sexual pleasure, lust and carnal desires. So I mean, take from that what you will 😉 Also, Inn speaking French just does something for me, damn. But again, I feel like this is gonna be sad and I don’t wanna be sad, so I’m unsure about if I’ll watch it or just skim it.
Ticket To Heaven - Initial rating: 10/10 - Likelihood of watching it: extremely high - I do not think I can even put into words how much this shook me to the core, 1996 in Thailand was not a safe place for queers, especially queer kids. Toss on top of that a colonizer religion known to spew hateful rhetoric, and you’ve got a boiling pot of drama. Whilst GeminiFourth are still stuck in the High School bubble, this is very much not what I was expecting for them. It looks amazing, they look fantastic and that short three minute trailer gave both of them so much space to shine that it was breathtaking. These two are so talented and I’m looking forward to them breaking my heart and hopefully mending it by the end.
And that’s it! Looking forward to what the other companies have to show up with their upcoming 2025 lineups, Idol Factory’s is coming up in January. Anyone know when DMD is showing their lineup?
Also, important side note: Fuck Foei! As much as I love Mark and Tay, I will not be tuning into The Feed, which is unfortunate because it looks like it might be interesting to hear the gossip around GMMTV’s talent. I would not trust a single queer person on that show with Foei, even with Tay and Mark there as buffers.

i don't think that they'll dive into naked ass territory so while it is going to be spicier than your regular gmmtv show, i also don't think that it'll be anything that can't be shown on youtube
hmmm you're right about cc, but cooking crush has been the only show (since i've gotten into qls) where the cut version was on yt and the uncut version was exclusive to wetv thailand and indonesia. and can i just say the way they cut the episodes was wild because there was so much vital information missing from the cut episodes
i wish gmmtv would clarify which countries will be affected since the trailer only explains the situation for thailand. all i'm hoping for is that it won't be exclusive to thailand because that would suck
oh yes, absolutely! despite fake puritans saying "omg is gmm becoming boc/mmy now?" just bc they went a little over their usual for bl, i don't think they'll go to that extent (bc let's not forget jojo also directed the masterpiece that was the warp effect and ciize's (?) and sing's characters were also into more kinky stuff (now that i mention this, twe is available in it's entirety on yt, so you know what, i just changed my mind)).
don't even get me started on cooking crush, anon, bc i was so beyond pissed by how poorly they edited that show. reason why i started doing gifsets of the cut scenes but at some point there were too many and i just gave up (also it was a lot of work putting the two side by side and screencaping the scenes we didn't have in the cut version).
as we already know, gmm is not the best in communication which is hilarious (no) since they are one of the biggest broadcasting channels. i also wish they gave more information, and maybe they will. there's still time. 16 more days until we get this sexy mess.

1, 14, and 21 for the ask game. Also special question just for you: best siblings this year?
Ohoho thank you for asking! (´。• ᵕ •。`) ♡ I caught up on quite a few shows from 2022 this year but I will only pick from shows that came out in 2023 for those questions, and ones I have finished as of today.
1. What are your top 10 QL this year?
Starting with a hard one aren't we? Okay let's try it, top 10 based not always on quality but definitely on the love I have for them! (except maybe for the top 2, ranking has changed 5 times before I posted so take it as fluid lol)
10- Love in Translation. This one was a surprise because I did not expect much, but it was very good comedy, had emotionally intelligent characters, a great female love rival, and while the plot might have been a little weak (especially over the last 2 episodes) it was still a lovely romance.
9- Kimi to nara koi wo shite mite mo. Five excellent episodes, that gave us Amane the loveliest, saddest boy and Ryuuji as the kindest one. Bonus point for Enoshima's gorgeous background.
8- A breeze of Love. I do love non linear storytelling, and the miscommunications in this one really worked for me. Loved it a lot.
7- My School President. I am a sucker for a musical show, and those teens were simply the cutest. They started the year with a bang for me.
6- I Feel You Linger in the Air. Yes, the last two episodes had big pacing problems, and the ending was kind of sloppy and under explained but my god. What a ride. The emotions hit it every single time for me, and for all the crying I did, I still came out of it with my heart full.
5- Our Dating Sim. I think my favorite second chance romance in a good long while. It used its allotted time perfectly to tell the story it had to tell, the way it unfolded felt believable, and the shift in perspective regarding the conflict was really well done. Also, like everyone, still haven't recovered from "Have you been well? Without me?"
4- Bokura no Shokutaku. Food related jdrama rarely miss the mark for me (looking at you Zenra Meshi (눈_눈)) and this one was so gentle, with great siblings, and so so so much love it had to be on the list.
3- Laws of Attraction. Look. I was bound to put this one in the list if only for JamFilm, but it also gave me unhinged men (Charn and of course Nawin oh boy), absolutely badass ladies - from Maya and Rose to our grandmother extraordinaire, and a side dish with a broken rich boy and a devoted bodyguard. Delicious.
2- Unintentional Love Story. Despite the abysmal kisses, I loved the romance, they had wonderful hugs and tons of hand holding, and the second couple was a delight.
1- Kimi ni wa todokanai. Probably my all time favorite trope made so, so perfectly well, with the cutest characters, the best pink boy in the world, and a banger opening. No notes.
...missing some high quality stuffs (Moonlight Chicken, sorry dear) but well. Ten is ten 🙈
14. What are your top 5 favorite tropes used this year?
5- Catching the clumsy one before they fall down the stairs. Both Kimi to nara koi ... and Kimi ni wa todokanai did it and I loved it both times. 4- Age Gap. While not always a fave of mine, I have really enjoyed it every time I encountered it this year! (be it in The New Employee or Love in Translation, or I Feel You Linger in the Air and Moonlight Chicken) 3- Dancing/waltzing together. I can't keep track of all the iterations we had of this, but you can be sure I loved it each time. 2- Second chance love. I love people getting to try again when the sentiments are still there, and we had some really nice one too (Our Dating Sim obv, but also Shigatsu no Tokyo wa...!) 1- Obligatory ☆*:.。.o Childhood Friends to Lovers o.。.:*☆ for this one. It's a favorite of mine period, but we had some really good iterations of it this year (yes yes yes kimi ni wa todokanai, but also Shigatsu no Tokyo wa... and technically Tan/Methee in LoA)
21. Who was the softest character/pairing in QL this year? Which pairing had the best communication?
Oh, I feel like we had quite a few very soft pairings this year... But! I think I will pick a show that had all of it: softest character, couple, AND good communication > The New Employee.
Seung Yun was just the sweetest, his relationship with Jong Chan was absolutely adorable, and (from what I remember) their communication was top notch.
Honorable mention for sweetest couple to Napdao and Wela from Lucky My Love, my girls were the cutest.
Bonus. Best siblings this year?
Siblings?? My favorite thing in the world?? (°◡°♡) (technically I have watched To Sir, With Love this year so I could nominate Best Brothers Yang and Tian right?)
My favorite siblings this year came from Japan! I have to hand it to Minoru and Tane from Bokura no Shokutaku. They were so adorable I'd be remiss not to pick them.
Close behind are the Ohara siblings, Yamato and Mikoto from Kimi ni wa todokanai - they clearly took great care of each other and their dynamic was the cutest.
