The cutest reminder ever that the way family works in TSAMS canon is that two parties have to be in mutual agreement that they are family. If one party doesn't agree then they aren't family. Parties can revoke familial ties whenever they want and that means they are no longer family.

"Code Relation" theory is stupid because you're then implying that Eclipse is Sun and Moon's child. Which he isn't. Or that Killcode is somehow Moon's child and his brother at the same time that he's Eclipse, Lunar and Bloodmoon's "father" at the same time that they're Sun and Moon's grand children. Like, we're seeing the issue here, right?

Don't make things more complicated than it has to be. Just accept the fact that family is literally determined by a verbal agreement between two animatronics and nothing else because none of them were born from wombs. That means respecting canon when characters in canon decide that they aren't comfortable being family (like Eclipse) or just straight-up disown everyone (like Bloodmoon). It's okay to have headcanons, but don't try to push them onto canon.

In my opinion Duke and Alfred should hate each other. Duke should not be so okay with Alfred manipulating him and his friends into We Are Robin, particularly after Troy dies (and Alfred's weird white saviour-y guilt that vanishes pretty quickly). If Alfred ever found out the role Duke played in Bruce getting over his amnesia, he should be all the way pissed. I also think Alfred never wanted Duke to actually be in the Batfam. Among the most bad-faith, genuinely bizarre responses that’s incredibly popular on here (frequently from insightful, thoughtful people!), is the thing where someone says “this behaviour, while not the end of the world, is kind of an annoying, thoughtless move. It would be nice if people did that less.”. And then the response is “so you think people should call the cops on people who do that thing???? You think they should be executed on the sidewalk in front of their families for doing this thing???”. Like I’m somewhat sure that’s not actually what is being said, actually! Sometimes people *do* call for criminalization of being an annoying asshole in shared spaces, and that is an unambiguously bad thing that should be pushed back against, but someone solely doing the equivalent of rolling their eyes about it is not necessarily doing that. People have the right to be irritating as hell, and the people around them are freely allowed to think “Christ, what an asshole” about it. Especially if that being annoyed at someone is entirely limited to complaining about it on a dying microblogging site, like please be serious here and stop making up people to get mad at

it bugs me when people treat lan wangji like a generic yaoi seme (i.e. filthy rich, selfish, arrogantly dismissive and unsatisfied, lords his position over those weaker or poorer, near-universal advantages over others, etc.

lan wangji IS way more privileged than wei wuxian, but lan xichen and the lan elders have FAR more power, control, and political advantage over him. lan wangji single-handedly physically fought 33 members of his own family to protect the man he loved, and they whipped him to near death for it. they forcibly imprisoned ("secluded") him and took advantage of his bedridden state to join the other clans in ambushing and assassinating wei wuxian.

my point is, he's not a stereotypical arrogant jerk with unending influence over others. if anything, being a dom top in bed isn't an expression of power for lan wangji, but an expression of freedom. he can be true to himself, his love, and his desires without being held back by his family and society's politics.
