My increasingly preferred interpretation of the SCP Foundation is the version invoked by SCP-173- the fluorescent-lit bureaucracy housing or monitoring a few hundred distinctly impossible objects, entities or locations; contained and corralled less out of some sweeping ideological mandate about the veil of secrecy and more for the practical reason that they have no goddamn idea what these things can do or how they'll react to any given stimuli. Largely (though not totally) divorced from extant folklore and conspiracy culture in favor of a unique pantheon of weirdos that don't fit an obvious schema. Terse, clinical documentation that nonetheless clearly implies a discovery process only a little to the left of a bunch of nervous nerds poking at something with a long stick to see what happens. Don't get me wrong, I love the modern foundation. I love Eigenweapons, I love Akiva Radiation and tactical theology, I love the sprawling supernatural subcultures and the nine different equally-extant eschatologies that are slugging it out. But after a certain number of articles predicated on entire secret fields of academia or postmodern articles about "what even is an anomaly, man," you become increasingly aware of the ways in which you're looking at least three really cool settings that don't necessarily play nice with each other thematically. SCP 049 headcanon

I hate 049 but mental illness happens to be my forte so heres an analysis

SCP 049 has no idea what the "pestilence" is, it's not that he's refusing to tell the researchers what it is, it's that he himself doesn't know what it is and refuses to accept it, thinking he must know it since he's a plague doctor and all

Something happened in his life which either made him forget some things or he never forgot anything but rather an event led him into being a plague doctor

Maybe he wasn't always a plague doctor but rather made himself into one, merging his flesh with his attire

or

someone else did it > he either forgot or didn't > and now he dedicates his life into curing something that isn't there

it doesn't matter what happened, he suffered something and the outcome was him dedicated his life to curing the "plague" as a coping mechanism, and when he says that he can "sense the plague" he actually doesn't! He's delusional and randomly "senses the plague", and when he does it triggers a fit of rage in 049, making him go crazy

doctor Ham acknowledged this, and delusional people don't like people disagreeing with things that they believe in so strongly, especially its something that helps them cope

when 049's coping mechanism was exposed he felt vulnarable which trigerred a fit, thus resulting in dr. Ham dying

You can recognize it in a parking lot, and you've probably decorated it how you like. So when you get into a crash, and the car is still able to be fixed, you go into the shop and you get it fixed. And that's because it would just feel strange to get into a different car, one without your fuzzy dice on the mirror and your funny stickers on the bumper, one you've never driven before and probably need to try it out a bit first before going on the road with it. Soo hi I haven't posted in a couple of months mainly because college eats my time and inspiration to actually draw anyway

Yesterday I watched the wild robot with my partner and all those animals and especially the fox from there really given me some inspiration.
