Can I ask how you learned to draw in the lmk artstyle? It's very impressive to see how accurate yet unique ur lmk art is compared to the show!

At first I simply did just trace out the shapes of screenshots to get an understanding of the proportions of the lmk style. as well as just stare and study for as long as I can to dumb down the style for myself-

Alot of my old LMK, Mainly OC art were just redraws from screenshots that I heavily edited and changed, like outfits were drawn all on my own and hairstyles ect. It was mainly just the body breakdown I used. like these-

I also have a little more knowledge on the style in general as a few buddies of mine, who can draw in the style Much more accurately then I can, Gave some tips and tricks! Like keeping in mind that drawing in the LMK style, the characters ARE lego characters and are meant to represent being made of molded plastic, and you don't want to draw somthing that feels like that plastic is snapping or breaking! as well as some style anatomy things! Before I used to freehand the eyes- Now I just use the circle tool and fill in. for coloring and rendering I just freehand it, but sometimes depending on things like shading (not always) I look at how LMK Shades things. I just do my usual method of flatcolor, shade sporadically but let it make sense, Throw some texture on there. Color the lineart, Blur the lineart a smidge and bam... Art. I'm still learning and studying. sometimes i cheat by drawing the pants baggy or the sleeves baggy so i don't have to keep up with drawing the "LMK Geometry" theres only so many cubes i want to draw hahah. In terms of my own "unique ness" I never stress over how "SHOW ACCURATE" I want my LMK style to emmulate, I just do enough to the poitn of "yeah thats the LMK style" and add my own flare like again texture or design in general.

Just to clarify, I'm not accusing anyone of doing anything disrespectful; this fandom has been nothing but lovely and I haven't had a single bad interaction in this fandom as an RPF writer. However, I have seen people in other RPF fandoms be rude and generally unpleasant, so I feel like this is something that needs to be said (especially as the fandom is starting to grow). I have also seen real people be put off by RPF fics that were sent to them, so just to repeat myself: do not send any RPF works to the boys. It doesn't matter if it's smut or not, just don't do it.

You can have your opinion about RPF, however positive or negative as it may be, but I beg of you to please not be hostile towards people with an opposing opinion. This goes for both RPF lovers and haters.

spring was scared when they found her. weak. but, she was also determined, at first, when she inherited her powers. the former, if we are to take the 'we' as the inner circle and not the tribe, sounds like she inherited her powers randomly, without the inner circle's influence whatsoever. the latter, however, makes it sound like the transfer was planned and she was prepared to inherit the powers, similar to pyrrha or winter. of course, it's plausible that she inherited the powers randomly, was scared bc holy shit, what is happening, but once she was found and explained what's going on, became determined... until she wasn't.

and no matter what training raven put her through, she wouldn't learn. wasn't "cut out for this world." it was "mercy."

she was weak. the weak die, the strong live, those are the rules. raven (and qrow) were sent to beacon to learn how to kill huntsmen; some people are just in it for the money and the fame, but there's even more that are just looking to grow stronger ("you turned yourself into a monster just for power." "look who's talking.") raven trained spring, the one who wasn't cut out for this world. weak. gretchen wasn't ready, according to hazel, and she died during a training mission.

scared vs determined. spring inherited the powers, but the responsibilities were too much, and she ran, abandoning her training, her responsibilities, and everyone else; the branwens chose to accept their powers and the responsibilities that came with them. raven chose to abandon her duties, the responsibilities, and everyone else.

shapeshifting is a secret ozpin didn't think raven would give up so easily, but is it really shapeshifting he's thinking about, or something else? the spring maiden must trust you a great deal. who knows what ozpin is still hiding, what secrets he's keeping... oh, btw, he's the only one to say gretchen died during a training mission, but he never says how.

bc at the moment, i'm fairly certain gretchen used to be the spring maiden... it's just the matter of when and how she died that's up in the air for me.

ppl on twitter are VERY pressed about graves coming back and someone "excusing his actions" (although i've yet to see at least one person actually seriously doing that in this discourse (i have seen exactly one before and just. blocked them and forgot about it because i have other things to worry about)) and like my only sincere advice for them is to go touch grass. like fr. breath some fresh air. enjoy the nature. he's a bunch of pixels on a screen. i refuse to believe that these people are deadass adults with lives.

same goes to people that are for real excusing him and defending him, if there's any. he's not a good person and shouldn't be excused.

honestly feels like those situations where someone made a stupid comment and the rest is 1000 people responding to it and at this point people can't find the original comment so they start blowing the situation out of proportion and reacting to each other based on hearsay

Before I say anything, I want to preface that this post isn't meant to throw shade at the character this is about, more so about the direction the company takes with her and a suspicion of mine as for what that reason may be that will be addressed soon.

As I mentioned before, I was looking through content related to Jinhsi in order to make more posts about her —headcanons or otherwise— until I've come across the lines dedicated to Jinhsi through Sanhua's stories / voicelines. This in combination with my reflections on the story (the first part to be precise, when Jinhsi announces her official absence) made me realize that there are a few irregularities when it comes to the direction Kuro made her have.

Starting from the fact that she's Jinhsi's bodyguard, her personal one most accurately said. It's no surprise that anyone of high standing that has a personal bodyguard will have a deeper bond with them than just that and so is Jinhsi's case with her (it's crystal clear to me that Jinhsi cares a lot about Sanhua, to the point where she's an agreed topic of conversation with Changli in which both think she should take it easier, or that instance in one of her stories where Jinhsi introduces herself in one of her nightmares in order to bring her some peace of mind), but there are a few things that are off to me.

Like the fact that she's trusted with paperwork. By this I don't mean to say that Sanhua isn't capable of dealing with it, I'm sure she is. But that would be work out of her scope as a bodyguard. Given that Changli was also setting off Jinzhou at the same time as Jinhsi did, it would be, perhaps, the most adequate to do to entrust one of the people who she has to ask for permission when she wants to implement certain decisions— as it is known that in Jinzhou at least they count with a political system hard for corruption to spring due to the implication of more figures than just the leader. Even more so assuming that said figures might be older and with more years of experience on their backs.

Moreover, there is also this line in particular that makes it inappropriate to me, once again, because Sanhua is her bodyguard. If she were Jinhsi's retainer that might make more sense for her to be concerned about matters like this one, but not in this particular case. One could argue that Jinhsi and Sanhua are friends or their relationship borders a genuine friendship and I would agree with this, but this in particular would be even more awkward if we consider that Sanhua would act this way in a political building. Perhaps it'd make more sense for Changli given that she's Jinhsi's mentor and mentorships tend to be more personal, but not this. An easy example I can think of is of Noctis, Ignis and Gladiolus from FFXV, where Gladiolus is the bodyguard (who also taught Noctis to fight) and Ignis the retainer. There is a crystal clear separation of duties there that, if applied to WuWa, is oddly mixed into Sanhua.

Where I want to get with all of this is to say that in my portrayal of Jinhsi, she will entrust Sanhua with the duties she has a bodyguard but not other things like paperwork or anything that concerns political matters. It's saddening how strange all of this was to me when I began to think about it in more detail because I like their relationship, but I can't help but think that some of these decisions are for plain fanservice purposes that won't be taken in consideration in this blog.

He's mentioning her because it's relevant to that time period in his life, the stories written and the impact of the attention & distrust. He has said she has a family now and finds this distressing as does he, so let's not add to it. It's his case, and maybe a general encouragement to read the court transcripts yourself rather than the media select quotes or spin pieces about it...
