work insisted everyone come in at 8 am, an HOUR early, for a meeting today. i said “fuck that, i’m not working a 9-hour day” and opted to take a FMLA day. i get a text from husband at 8:15: “well this was a massive waste of time”.

#apparently the DEPUTY REGISTRAR and the district manager bailed at the last minute #bc of course they did!#no one wants to be at work a fucking hour early #no one wants to work a fucking 9 hour day for basically nothing #and everyone’s all ‘meh meh meh you still get paid’#oh boy an extra maybe?? 15 dollars?? after taxes #that’s just enough to buy myself a crappy McDonald’s lunch oh boy so generous #my time is worth a thousand of these shitty jobs #i’d rather have two extra hours than an extra whole fifteen dollars #pay me $150/hour and I’ll come in early #how bout dah
