Dead dashboard confessional parasocial hours: it’s been so nice to see Taylor kind of reclaim her place in the world and work out in real time what does or doesn’t feel good in terms of being out there, and she’s clearly flourishing on a personal level by taking in all these experiences! And idk if it’s just the late hour or the post-livestream hangover or what, but it just kinda feels like something shifted yet again last week — like she and Travis did their goofy little skit because Theatre Kids and it was fun and felt good and she’s like “YES more of that please!”

And I’m not saying that as in “omg she’s going to publish her entire life online now” at all, but more in like, it’s kind of endearing to see her try these new things and figure out her boundaries and be like “yes this sparks joy and I want more of it in my life” (or on the flip side, cutting out the things that don’t and protecting her peace). I know that ET article earlier today was just a fluff piece to keep stoking the fires until they can actually Say It, but there’s something about Tree’s the quote saying they had fun coming up with it and were glad they got to share that moment together and want to keep having fun like that was just really sweet. And again, I don’t think it means they’re going to publicize their lives regularly by any means, I really do feel like it was like, “hey you know what would be funny?” And they took it from there — almost like that skit was for them and we were lucky to be bystanders to the bit lol. They just have so much fun together and it shows. I don’t think they’re trying to capitalize off their relationship, I think it’s just the pop star on a global stage equivalent of that one couple you have in your friend group that always goes all out for Halloween with the elaborate couple costume and commits to the bit every year.

It just seems like they’re really settling into things and figuring out as they go along how they can do the things they want to do within the parameters of what feels safe and joyful and is less scary than it once was. Taylor got to take part in her own way in something meaningful to Travis (e.g. the Super Bowl) and he’s gotten to take part in something meaningful to her (the show) and it’s just really sweet how they embrace each other’s worlds. And maybe it was “new and defining” because Taylor’s never been that overt before on stage on a tour of this scale, and not only did the world not cave in, she had a blast and got to have a chuckle. For someone who said she always wished she had someone by her side to share her successes with and never did even in her longest relationship previously, it’s got to be wild to literally have her partner on stage with her on her record-breaking tour.

No wonder she’s probably gagged at all this. The universe really did shift and it was all for them etc.

I mentioned a few months ago how I was going to make original characters inspired by Dean and Cas simply because I wanted original characters to draw for my art portfolio and it can’t be fanart.

However, despite it being a haha thing with not much thought behind it, I have developed them into full fledged characters now!

Their full names are Maxwell Clarence Charleston (Born 1830) and Jude Smith (born 1980). I’ll be making more art with them and explaining their background and story and I can’t wait to continue developing them!

Jude is an avid movie buff and loves books. He’s a big fan of old classic horror movies and collects old Hollywood memorabilia and his favorite TV show is Gunsmoke. He loves Skittles and wants to be a movie director.

Max loves being outside and during his nature walks would often collect flowers and leaves to press into his book. He’s a big science guy and loves learning new things about the world and dreams of traveling. He also really likes coffee lol.

That’s obviously not all to them, but I figure this can be their official introduction! I wanted them side by side their inspiration which is Dean and Cas of course!

I imagine I’ll be drawing these four together more lol just for fun

Cait did not think much of her 7th grade science teacher. He was lanky and had odd mannerisms her class giggled and whispered about, sometimes referring to his ramblings as “Mad Scientist Monologues,” but her teacher wasn’t really someone she paid much attention to. If Cait was being more honest, she’d admit she wasn’t paying much attention to anyone, choosing to keep her observation surface level but only deep enough to cut when she felt moody.

And Cait hadn’t stopped feeling moody since 6th grade, so sucks to be everyone else in her way.

So, yeah, Cait didn’t pay much attention to care or invest herself in who her science teacher was. Sure, he was one of the rare people to not put up with her bullshit, and not give up on her easily like the others, but what does she care? He’ll only focus on her until her year with him is over, and then he can finally be rid of her just like everyone else.

That was until he crossed the line.

“So, I heard from your science teacher that you’ve been disruptive in class.”

Cait paused, fork hovering in front of her mouth. That fucking snitch, but Jayce would lecture her if Cait said that out loud. Quickly smoothing her face into the perfect piece of confusion she could muster, Cait went on the defense.

“I was hardly being as disruptive as Bryce or Patrick! They spend most of the class talking about nothing other than football. As if that means anything in middle school.”

“Maybe, but they didn’t set someone’s hair on fire.”

“THAT WAS TOTALLY NOT”— Cait breathed deeply. Keep it cool, Caitlyn. You’ve got this. Just hold out until Mrs. Talis returned from her book club. “That was an accident.”

“So you didn’t steal Mr. Herald’s matches and set Pepper Pinkerton’s hair on fire?”

In Cait’s defense: Pepper Pinkerton was a stuck-up, two-faced, ignorant ex friend, who decided that leaving Cait the second she was deemed too poor. And maybe Pepper Pinkerton had a habit of questioning the status of her new legal guardians, so maybe, Jayce should be grateful.

“I didn’t steal them… we needed them for today’s activity, and he was taking forever with the previous group.”

A sigh. “Cait”—

“I didn’t even get to touch her precious hair! She shrieked and whined to Mr. Herald about it, so it’s not like anyone got harmed.”

“But you did mean harm.”

“Oh, like she’s any better!”

No longer hungry, Cait harrumphed and threw her fork on her plate, making sure to be extra disruptive about it, too, stomping to her room and slamming the door. Outside, Cait could hear Jayce sigh before picking up his plate and Cait’s. Probably moving both to the sink or to dump their, now unappetizing food, away.

How dare he? How dare he? That stupid, meddling teacher! How dare he think he gets to to tell Jayce about her issues. That wasn’t his place. His job was to try and corral twenty something pre-teens on what plant cells were. Not disclose behavioral information!

Cait paced her room back and forth as she fumed. She never thought much of her science teacher besides filing away his oddities, but now… now, Cait knew better.

This means war.
