TW: Dinosaurs, messing with genetics, black market deals, double crossing, near death experiences with dangerous predators, death, animal theme/reservation parks, fictional science, kidnapping
Welcome to the Librarian’s Suggestions!
The librarian is aware that there is an existing chatbot with themes for the Jurassic World series, @taeyongxowengrady. This suggestion post focuses on the original trilogy for Jurassic Park.
Today’s Theme: Jurassic Park (films)
Plot: Two doctors with paleontology and paleobotany backgrounds are recruited by an eccentric man who has created a theme park with dinosaurs to observe the cloned breeds prior to opening to the public. (To ensure the operations are safe for outside visitors.) They are amazed to discover that the man has worked with scientists to bring these creatures back to life, using DNA from West African frogs to fill in the missing parts of the DNA strands. While the pair, along with a chaos theorist and lawyer go on a tour of the park, an employee of the park cuts the power to the systems and park, while trying to steal dinosaur embryos for a rival company. This stops the vehicles the group are in, as well as powers off the electric fences, which allows some of the more dangerous breeds to escape.
In the sequel, the plans for the park on a remote island are scrapped and it is revealed the dinosaurs from the first film were created on a sister island not far from the other one. The eccentric man who planned the original Jurassic Park has lost control of his company to his nephew and reaches out to the chaos theorist to join a documentary crew to the sister island to show the creatures in their natural habitat. The theorist runs into his girlfriend on the island who was there to observe the dinosaurs. Eventually the pair, along with a documentary activist, discover that the nephew is capturing the dinosaurs and transporting them secretly to an unfinished Jurassic Park theme park in San Diego.
The third film focuses on the paleontologist from the first film researching the intelligence of velociraptors and trying to get funding for his research. He is recruited by a couple who pretends to offer to help fund his research, only to be kidnapped by them to help them find their missing son and his friend, who were last seen parasailing over one of the islands. The group lands on the island where the dinosaurs were created, and try to navigate their way around, while avoiding the more dangerous predators.
Characters
Dr. Alan Grant: A paleontologist who works alongside his partner Dr. Ellie Sattler. He specializes in velociraptors and believes that dinosaurs are closely related to birds. He is introverted and slightly adverse to kids, but eventually warms to them when he is forced to protect the grandchildren of John Hammond from a T-Rex. He is a bit skeptical of the concept of Jurassic Park, believing the creatures roaming Isla Nublar are genetically engineered theme park monsters, versus real dinosaurs.
Dr. Ellie Sattler: Dr. Grant’s partner who specializes in paleobotany. She is sharp, yet caring, as seen in how she treats Hammond’s grandchildren upon meeting them. She grows concerned for the dinosaurs when she notes poisonous and dangerous plant-life growing in areas of Isla Nublar that could harm them. (This is observed in a sluggish female triceratops found roaming freely in one of the areas of the park.) She was dating Dr. Grant during the first film, but ended the relationship by the third film and has married a US State Government employee.
Dr. Ian Malcolm: A mathematician who specializes in chaos theory, brought to Jurassic Park to assess if it is safe for outside visitors. It is implied that he is a bit of a ladies man, as he mentions having children with different women. The events of the first film leave him haunted by the near death situations and he loses credibility for saying that dinosaurs are back. He agrees to assist John Hammond with proving that the dinosaurs on Isla Sorna can live in harmony and should be left alone, with the hope that he can persuade his girlfriend to leave the island. He is able to help the team stop Hammond’s nephew from trying to open a Jurassic Park in San Diego and regains his credibility.
John Hammond: A kind, eccentric businessman who dreams of opening Jurassic Park to spark interest in families and people who wish to see and learn about something. He is not as well versed in science, which is why he relies on the experts to help. He means well, but fails to realize that the creatures created are not as easy to control and could pose a real threat to people. Eventually, he and the others are rescued from Isla Nublar and he ruefully concludes that his planned park is merely a dream and must not be finished.
These are a few of the characters. Please refer to the respective Jurassic Park Wiki for more.
Possible Plots
Your muse is invited to preview and assess the safety of a future theme park, centered around dinosaurs. Initially they believe they are seeing highly advanced animatronics, but are shocked to discover that they are living, breathing creatures.
Your muse has survived a near death experience with genetically engineered dinosaurs and has tried to put the events at the back of their minds. Unfortunately, they’re called back by someone who needs their help in proving that the dinosaurs left on the island are safe, provided no human ever enters that land.
Your muse is dragged into a situation to find someone else’s loved one, who went missing near one of the islands inhabited by dinosaurs. However, you’re not familiar with this area and have to wing it, all without becoming a dinosaur’s next meal.
Notes
While the series is set in the 1990s, this can be adjusted slightly.
Good variety of characters to choose from.
Genders can be swapped or changed, based on your face claim and character you wish to base your muse on.
Great for those who want a science-fiction theme with action/thriller elements.

Hiii! I'm sorry for the bother but would you please write a character love letter from young Erik Lehnsherr from the First Class movie? Would you please write it like he's writing it to a human and he feels conflicted because of it? I hope it makes sense, haha ^^ Oh, my name's Ellie, I almost sent this without it. Thank you so much in advance!
Tumblr media
Ellie,
I write this in the hopes that by putting pen to paper my mind might become clear. In all honesty I believe this letter might do the opposite, only making me more confused than I already am. I vowed as a child that human’s were the enemy, that their want to destroy or cure mutants was a harm to me and I thought my mind would never be swayed. A cure is a way of eradicating myself and all other mutants, they would rather risk our deaths than find a way to live in peace and as this has become their way of living I feel that I must adopt the same mindset. Mutants are not the enemy, humans are the enemy.
I want to continue to believe this, want to continue to believe in a world where mutants live in peace without humans. I want to believe that harmony is unachievable and extinction inevitable. I want to believe many things yet the only thing I seem to be able to believe at this moment is that I’m in love with you. A brief few meetings between us has changed everything for me, I don’t know what I should be believing anymore. I love you and you’re human, and if I love you and you are human then what does that say about me? What does it say about my beliefs?
There’s no rationality to love, no concrete way to decipher feelings. This of course is torment for me. If it was clear how I felt and what that meant for my entire being then the way forward would be easy, it would be known. Rather this is unknown territory I’m entering into, I’ve never cared for anyone in the way that I care about you and I’ve never cared for a human in really any capacity, it was something I always pushed to the side.
What comes from this letter I will not know, my fate lies in your hands. There should be some clarification in the fact that I don’t mean to be cruel with my words, honest but never cruel. I care too much for you to leave out the truth of my world viewpoints and I care too much for you to ignore the control these thoughts have over other aspects of my life. Perhaps there will be some clarity from you or from just writing this letter, the conflict within will keep raging until gifted a sense of calm.
In thought,
Erik

Hardison Goes to Broadchurch
Hardison meets Hardy (& Miller): a Broadchurch/Leverage story. Also on AO3.
aka: they! have! the! same! name! WE NEED TO DISCUSS THIS
****
Hardison was at the small police station for information gathering, nothing more. What he needed wasn’t available online--what kind of old weird British town kept paper files? he’d muttered while booking his flight--so there was no harm in following the job with a stop in London and some well-deserved vacation time.
Thirty minutes, posing as an IT contractor, in and out.
Easy.
Of course, the small town culture was harder to hack and override than their filing system. He wasn’t even ten feet inside the door before he almost collided with a weary man in a day-old suit.
“Sorry, sorry there,” Hardison rushed to smooth over the interaction, adding just a dash of European flavor to his voice. Something about the police station, or the man glowering at him now, told him that affecting an English accent would arise more suspicion than it saved.
“And you are?”
“Yes, of course, sir. How rude of me.” Hardison held out an overeager hand, the very model of an instantly-forgettable consultant, and began his introduction at the same moment that Hardy took to be his opening.
“Alec Hard--” they said in perfect harmony. Hardy lost his last syllable, torn between confusion and suspicion.
Hardison’s “--ison...” trailed off into a similar wariness, his mouth flattening as Hardy’s brow furrowed.
They regarded each other for a long moment before Hardison spoke.
“What is that, supposed to be a joke? A funny, funny joke--Eliot sent you, didn’t he?”
Hardy blinked, still too baffled to summon a response, but Hardison barely paused for air.
“This is because of that thing back in January, isn’t it? He swore he was over that, the man swore up and down that there would not be payback, so of course he waited until this very moment to--”
“Elliot who?” Hardy ventured, halting Hardison’s rant before it really got going. “I don’t know any Elliot.”
The thick Scottish accent was unexpected. Did Eliot even have contacts in Scotland? Hardison had to consider it, long enough that Hardy was able to continue.
“I mean, there’s Miller,” he thought aloud. Maybe an American, unfamiliar with the accent, could mistake ‘Ellie’ for ‘Elliot?’ A daft American.
“Miller.” Hardison had made that alias himself, so of course he remembered it. Eliot Miller was from Phoenix, a pharma rep, divorced father of two. Cute kids. Looked like their mom. “What was Miller doing in your neck of the woods?”
“My neck of the woods?” Hardy’s mouth twisted around the phrase as though it tasted sour.
“Here in Broadchurch.”
“Miller lives here,” Hardy said, glowering harder now. “Unlike you, whoever you are.” He wasn’t sure what this stranger was doing, imitating him in his place of work, trying to mock his authority...but he had half a mind to sic Miller on the intruder. See how the impostor liked that.
“I...highly doubt that,” Hardison countered, trying to figure out how Eliot could have possibly relocated his Arizona alias to a town off the English coast in between stealing a hospital and a school.
“Oh, for heaven’s sake.” Hardy sighed, and took one step back so he could bellow “Miller!” at top volume.
Both men waited, Hardison with more patience than Hardy but also more anxiety. The longer he stayed to sort this out, the harder it would be to get out without causing a stir. And getting what he came for was out of the question.
“What is it now,” a trim brunette snapped as she approached them, her ire aimed squarely at the Scotsman. “I don’t have time for any more--”
“This is Miller? Eliot Miller?” Now Hardison was even more confused. Eliot was capable of some impressive things--many, many things--but turning himself into a British woman was not on that list.
“Ellie Miller,” she corrected him, holding out a hand. “How do you know Hardy?”
Her partner was rolling his eyes at the politeness she offered Hardison, but he stopped long enough to point at his own chest and give Hardison the best ‘aren’t you an idiot’ look he had seen since leaving home.
“Hardy.”
“Alec Hardy,” Miller supplied helpfully. “And yourself?”
“Alec Hardison,” he said. Sometimes the simplest explanation really was the truth, Hardison thought, amused at himself and Hardy. Some things were just coincidences. “I came to take a look at your virus protection and got a bit off-track.”
“Alec Hardison.” Hardy tested the name. He didn’t like it.
“We don’t have anyone scheduled to look at our computers,” Miller pointed out. She seemed much less hung up on the surprise name mix-up than Hardison would have expected.
But hey, if there was one thing he was great it, it was getting himself out of situations he never should have gotten himself into.
“All I know is, I was requested specifically by name. Your department hired my employer, and they sent me. As requested. If you want to talk to the staffer who put in the request, I’m sure I have his name here somewhere.”
Hardison began shuffling methodically through his paperwork, searching for a name that didn’t exist.
“Right, right, here it is. The last name’s smudged--quite a lot of rain you folks have--but the first name looks like Bob. Or, or maybe Don. I don’t know, I’ve been meaning to buy an umbrella. Where do you find a good umbrella around here?”
Hardison couldn’t tell if Ellie Miller was deciding which umbrella shop to recommend or if she was considering smacking him upside the head, but the two impulses were definitely at war with each other. The woman had visible radar for bullshit. Must be a mom.
Hardy, though, had taken the bait and was starting to simmer. “Bob, is it? Oh, I have been wanting a word with Bob all week. This is not the place for pranks, especially not pranks that could put our entire computer system at risk of a security breach!”
He stormed off as that sentence crescendoed, presumably in search of Bob. Hardison made a mental note to send every Bob in the office some kind of gift basket or something, after he got home. Sorry, Bob.
“Right then.” Miller offered him a firm nod, paired with a smile. Here’s your hat, on your way. “Just a mix-up. Let your boss know that you’re not meant to be here today. They can call us to follow up.”
“Yes. Thank you. Thank you very much.” Hardison smiled back and took the hint. He was at the exit when her voice stopped him.
“Mr. Hardison?”
“Yes, ma’am.” He turned with his smile still in place.
“Hughes, just down the street from the grocer’s.”
“Sorry?”
“For an umbrella.”
Her smile widened, but not in a friendly way. Oh, she was a smart one, Hardison thought. Well, shit.
That smile had his number. That smile said ‘From now until the day I die I will recognize you if I see you again, and I will be ready for anything you try to pull.’
“How was I supposed to know the place has a man with almost my exact same name?” Hardison muttered on the way to his rental car.
“How was I supposed to be prepared for that exact situation? I’m a genius, I am not a wizard. Some guy with my name walks into me when he should be in Scotland...”
He was going to have to put Broadchurch on the Big List of Places We Avoid, and he was going to have to hope that none of the team would notice, and nobody would ask why.
Because he really did not want to explain this day to any of them.
Especially not Eliot.

magaprima:
Lilith walked forward and made a show of paying attention to all the little red and green marks Tyler had taken the time to make. As she expected, it was chaotic and without any real design or purpose; parasitic demons weren’t exactly known for their skills in planning or in geography. They weren’t, generally speaking, intelligent either.
“Teenagers are usually the easiest hosts to jump into. Any person who’s mind is…ill-defined, fluid and even nonsensical will do, but teenagers as a general rule usually tick all those boxes; they’re trying to find their identity and so the demon slips in to…fill in the gaps”
But it wasn’t a surprise that the mortal authorities had failed to see the truth; even when it was put directly in front of them, mortals always decided to…mundanely logic their way around it. And Lilith tended to find that the authorities were particularly idiotic.
“Well they’re always noticed in the end either way, but doing this makes them more difficult to catch. It makes it much more difficult to find them, to know just who it is they possess now, what they look like” And leaving each body before their energy was used up, allowing them all to survive, meant they drew less attention; if no one was really being harmed then they were more able to…slip under the radar.
“Tell me; which teenagers are missing in this area now?” Lilith asked, moving closer to point to the green and red dots on the furthest outstretch of the map.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her nervousness had eased a great deal, but even the relief of having Lilith there to help shed some light on the situation wasn’t enough to help her relax completely. Tyler was a fidgety person even at the best of times, but when something was worrying her she seemed to be in constant motion. At that moment the fidgeting was directed mainly at her sleeves, twirling a loose thread on her cuff around her fingers while she rocked back and forth a little on her feet and nodded her understanding of Lilith’s explanation.
“It’s startin’ to weird people out, but I don’t think it’s caught all that much attention from anyone who isn’t local. No one I’m worried about anyways. Got a couple of uh… non-human pals who give me the heads up when new hunters show up too close to home, but things have been pretty quiet so far.” And she’d very much like to keep it that way. Beyond the obvious concerns for her loved ones, anything likely to disturb the precarious harmony of the local supernatural community was extremely unwelcome.
“Most recent one I’ve seen is a kid named Ellie.” She abandoned the thread in order to click over to another document, one displaying the girls photo and a description of the last time her family had seen her. “She’s been gone for two days and she’s the youngest one so far. Only just turned fourteen.” She could only hope that the kid wasn’t awake and aware of what was happening. She didn’t want to imagine how terrified the girl would be otherwise. Tyler had been an adult during her own possession experience and that had been bad enough. Going through that shit as a teenager? Fuck no.

Another film Where I Am Far from the Target Audience Yet            I admit that I have to credit an online article titled 10 Must See Movies For Screenwriters by Dave Trottier for giving me an idea to watch this The Player film (after I entered a google search of movies about screenwriters). The film has a multitude of celebrities in it; Whoopi Goldberg,  Gina Gershon,Anjelica Houston, Julia Roberts, Lyle Lovett, Cher, Fred Ward, Peter Gallagher,Dina Merrill, Andie Macdowell, Jeff Goldblum Bruce Willis, Jeremy Priven, Nick Nolte, Gary Busey, Teri Garr,Lily Tomlin, Burt Reynolds, Susan Sarandon, John Cusack, Richard Grant, Robert Dean Stockwell, and many more celebrity appearances. However, significant plot points of the film center around the character of Griffin Mill (Tim Robbins), a hotshot Hollywood Executive whose world is unintentionally turned upside down after he loses his temper with writer/author David Kahane (Vincent D’Onofrio). Griffin Mill is shown being pretty distant with a multiple number of even his professional colleagues. Even his girlfriend from work Bonnie Sherow (Cynthia Stevenson) is not treated much differently from Griffin’s coworkers. However, part of Griffin Mill’s humanity is exposed when he is seen communicating with June Gudmundsdottir (Greta Scachi). That sounds innocent enough until the viewer realizes that she was romantically connected to writer/author David Kahane. 100 Greatest '90s Alternative Songs Price: $0.00 A Worthwhile Collection To Listen To if You Like 90’s Rock Music, April 20, 2017 This review is from: 100 Greatest '90s Alternative Songs (MP3 Music)I unintentionally came across this music collection from Amazon’s playlist of 100 Greatest '90s Alternative Songs and I am very glad to have done so. This kindlebook of Writing with the Muse: A Guidebook to Conscious Creativity (Intuition University) by Sara Wiseman accidently came to me by lucky chance. I had seen the kindlebook for Demons of Confusion: Rituals To Hide the Truth, Create Confusion, and Conceal Your Actions by Corwin Hargrove. Even with my intuitive and logical awareness that it helps to integrate both knowledge from spiritual white light and darkness to strengthen my spiritual core, I did not yet feel ready to purchase that book. However, as my soul/spirit craves truth from non-biased  and non-judgmental sources, I fortunately came across this kindlebook of Writing With the Muse by Sara Wiseman as a way to help me gain clarity on my creativity as it pertains to my writing goals. Some of the one of a kind tidbits in this kindlebook; the three trances that she writes are the flow states for creative writing, ideally working by hand to keep a journal in relation to ideas for whatever medium of artistic creation that a person is undertaking as she also addresses artists and musicians, asking yourself if you are willing to press forward in your writing passion regardless of publishing outcome (an easy question for me to answer as I do feel called to writing regardless of the outcome even though I understand it may sound arrogant to others, yet I understand that others may only want to write with regards to a guarantee of profitable andor lucrative outcomes). I admit that I liked that Wiseman encouraged a person to give themselves permission to press on with a project deadline date in relation to one of the ideas in her container suggestion. This encouraging guidance was important for me to come across as I work to improve my writing for creative writing therapy as well while also simultaneously working on my employment goals. Wiseman also gives ideas for having containers open for smaller projects such as articles from magazines, doing art for fun, lyrics from songs etc.
Comment | Permalink Long Story Short: The Only Storytelling Guide You'll Ever Need Offered by Penguin Random House Publisher Services Price: $9.99 Candid and Helpful, April 21, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Long Story Short: The Only Storytelling Guide You'll Ever Need (Kindle Edition)This kindlebook of Long Story Short: The Only Storytelling Guide You'll Ever Need by Margot Leitman captures some of the author’s experiences as it relates to her ideas for storytelling. Leitman also bluntly admits that some people wishing to spice up their writing may want to live a life in a way that is a little riskier without venturing too much in the danger zone. I admit that this advice was a splash of cold water to my face (metaphorically speaking) because I am blessed with an abundance of free time and a loving husband who is supportive of my writing goals. However, I am in the process of learning and implementing in taking risks in various areas of my life in a harm-free manner. Reitman also bluntly shares that some of the best writing comes from writers who have successfully found a way to put imperfections in their writings with just the right amount of happy scenarios/endings. Reitman politely gives examples of working with very religious people who wanted to create stories with very few imperfections in them. She tactfully explains that this in on the similar extreme of gifted writers who may want to only focus on the dark sides/challenging outcomes with benefiting from more positive outcome additions to their stories and more tidbits. I admit that I am still in the process of working on that angle due to my intuitive and logical awareness that the outcome to a person’s imperfections/flaws is sometimes indirectly influenced by how much outside the mainstream a writer/author is. In other words, even I know that two authors can expose similar imperfections in their writings, but the harsh truth is that I have picked up on and seen is that sometimes the person who is most celebrated for being true to themselves fits into the mainstream ideal in some way when it comes to their attractiveness, personality, intelligence, the family background that they came from etc. In contrast, I have seen examples of people who exposed their flaws in a harm-free manner and were not met with the same support from others in their circle (family, friends)and/orevenmisunderstood/demonized. Comment | Permalink Aftersight Price: $4.99 A Moving and Spiritual Story, April 21, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Aftersight (Kindle Edition)I admit that it is too personal for me to share how I came across this Aftersight kindlebook by Brian Mercer. The Aftersight story shares how one young woman’s life was dramatically changed after a life changing car accident. Her sensitivity to the spiritual/afterlife realms are heightened yet her relationship with her parents is not the same after the incident. Her parents still love her, yet for example her dad admits to her that he would like his old daughter back that existed prior to the car accident. Comment | Permalink The Intern DVD Price: $9.99 I’m Far From the Target Audience For This Film Yet, April 21, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: The Intern (Amazon Video)I admit that I remember being intrigued to eventually watch the Intern film after seeing an article online related to some public relations managers being inspired by the Intern film to hire some older women in real-life as interns (women in their 40’s, 50’s etc.). I admit that this film metaphorically jumped out at me to eventually purchase and watch, which was well worth is for some of the multiple reasons; Anne Hathaway as the character Jules Ostin is shown in an empowering light doing her best to juggle her career and personal life with her husband Matt (Anders Holm) and daughter Paige (Jo Jo Kushner). Ostin is in charge of a successful/thriving business that adds on more people such as Ben Whitaker (Robert Deniro), Davis ( Zack Pearlman), Doris (Celia Weston) etc. Ben becomes popular at the workplace and is seen interacting a lot with Jules Ostin, Jason (Adam Devine), Becky (Christina Scherer) etc. Ben meets and is instantly smitten with the in house massage therapist Fiona (Rene Russo). One of Ben’s lady friends Patty (Linda Lavin) figures this out and expresses her reaction when Ben is shown taking Fiona to a funeral for the first date. Some of the multiple pop culture references in the film which I admit I noticed in the film due to my interest in advertising/marketing trends; JayZ and Beyonce referenced in the film, Stella Artois beer, Sammy Davis, Billy Holiday, Clancy, Harry Potter, Ocean’s film series starring Brad Pitt as Rusty Yates, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, snippets of a song featured in the film by KC and the Sunshine Band, snippets of a song being played by Busta Rhymes, Teddy’s Bar & Grill, a brief clip of the Singing in the Rain film etc. Comment | Permalink Buying the View Season 1 Price: $16.99 Fun To Watch, April 21, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Buying the View Season 1 (Amazon Video)I admit that this series of Buying The View Season 1 caught my attention because it seemed similar to another show that I find to be fun to watch from the episodes that I have watched (Lottery Dream Home). The first episode opens with a couple being shown different properties in Miami Florida. The second features a couple being shown different properties around Whistler BC (which appears to be in a similar location featured in Timber Creek Lodge Season 1). I admit that these songs are some tunes that I enjoy a lot from this collection; Genie In A Bottle by Christina Aguilera, The Boy is Mine by Monica & Brandy, Whatta Man by Salt N Pepa feat. Vogue, Step by Step by New Kids On The Block. However, there are multiple songs from different timeframes of the 90’s and music genres that will appeal to many people who listen to various types of music. Comment | Permalink Lust For Life [feat. The Weeknd] Price: $1.29 A One of A Kind Avant-Garde Love Song, April 20, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Lust For Life [feat. The Weeknd] (MP3 Music)I admit that I was first exposed to this unique Lust For Life song by Lana Del Rey feat. the Weeknd less than 18 hours ago (via youtube). The music collaboration is very well coordinated (when it comes to the lyrics of Lana Del Rey and the Weeknd) and the futuristic lounge/electronic music makes it a very novel type of love song. I also like that the Lust For Life song has both a hopeful and happy-go-lucky vibe. Comment | Permalink That's What I Like Price: $1.29 An Exquisite Dance/R&B type of song, April 20, 2017 Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: That's What I Like (MP3 Music)I admit that this entertaining song That’s What I Like by Bruno Mars grew on me after multiple times of listening to it. It is a come hither/romantic type of song yet one of the positive features of the song is that it comes out in a imaginative love story type of tune. That’s What I Like by Bruno Mars is also perfect to listen to if you have liked andor enjoyed his Treasure song-it reminds me in an outstanding way of that song.
