If we can believe Airplane on SQH, his upbringing wasn't too terrible nor all that great, probably some "disposable" son in a family, starting as outer disciple on An Ding. Presumably he runs into the inadvertent ambush by Mobei-Jun, and is similarly thrown to die by his fellow disciples. Assuming this happens as such in the OG timeline, it's easy to see why SQH would have no qualms betraying the sect. Overall tho, I imagine he was ambitious even before MBJ to fight his way up the ranks regardless of the cost. I don't imagine him to be afraid to climb over corpses, if only to secure himself a place as peak lord. I could see him having a bit of a two-sidedness to him kinda like NHS. Pretend to be demure and harmless/weak to get what he wants and not draw attention since everyone assumes him incompetent outside of his work as lord of paperwork, but a lot more ruthless and unfriendly on the inside. He doesn't particularly care for his fellow peak lords and thus is willing to sell the secrets to MBJ in exchange for his life Cold and calculating, ruthless, A grade actor, two faced, rude but repays debts (like mbj leaving him alive and therefore doing stuff for him; I think he'd be aware that he's hopelessly outmatched against mbj so is this technically coercion??)

I would like to express that just because she is last she isn't bad, ok? The worst Epic song is better than your fave's entire discography, let's not get it twisted. That being said, Polyphemus is by far the weakest for me. It's just too slow, and like, of course it is, it's the build up for the plot defining moment of the show. It has to be slow to contrast with the explosion that will come right after. But it's soooo much and so not the vibe for me. Still love her tho

19 - LUCK RUNS OUT

Not gonna lie, this song is only this low because they changed the "We could be caught of guard" verse. It was SOOOOOOO much better than the melodic version, like, that was a giga downgrade it really upset me and my homegirls ngl

Again, a queen, a trendsetter, a trailblazer, we love athena, but her songs in the beginning of the musical are kinda not my thing. Warrior of the mind sounds so weird to me in its saga, i struggle making it fit in my head.

I think i might get doxxed for this list, but it is my truth. TBH we reached a point in which i have no qualms with the songs. Survive is definitely not bad but like, it gets outshone by literally everyone else in the list so it goes here.

The "Monster" chants in The Underworld and in Monster, "after all you're just a man" in My Goodbye, the entire song of "Monster" is he becoming the Monster he is asking about in this song, like, DO YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS SONG? I saw the anti-Dick Grayson post you reblogged and was wondering what qualms about his character that weren’t mentioned in that post that you have about his character!

I think that most of my issues were covered by the post. But I'd also add the way some dick grayson fans treat female characters around him. Dick is never seen at any fault in his relationships, and all the female characters he has ever dated get put under scrutiny and their actions get over analyzed by fans trying to find any way they might have been toxic towards Dick, while him being an asshole is deemed automatically OOC.

For example, dickbabs antis LOVE to bring up Babs dumbing him after Tarantula forcefully kissed him in front of her and demonizing Barbara for it (even tho that wasn't even the only reason they broke up or 100% in character) but never bring up Dick saying that he regretted putting an elevator on his apartment so Babs, a wheelchair user, could have access to it. Same with Kory or Helena, people only bring up the issues they had with the way Dick was treated in those relationships and the women are an afterthought.

Also for Kory, pretty much 90% of the dickkory defense posts I've seen talk about what a good influence she was on him, never the other way around. Kory gets a pass despite being a woman, unlike his other female love interests, because people are still attached to the cartoon. And yet she still gets treated like a self insert by a good chunk of the fanbase.

Even women he has had platonic relationships with aren't safe. Almost all of Donna Troy posts are about her relationship to him. Meanwhile Kara gets dumbed down to "awestruck teenager" when it comes to her relationship with Dick, even tho that hasn't been canon is nearly 20 years + it was from two series that are known for their OOC writing (Loeb's SG run and TT03). Lastly Bea is only ever brought up as a love interest as an excuse to call the dickbabs relationship racist, even tho she's an interesting character in her own right and her break up with Dick has less to do with Barbara and more to do with the way the Ric arc was concluded.

I saw your stuff about proshipping and, I think your take is pretty interesting. Like yeah it makes you uncomfortable but people have the right to create what they want, and that's fair. But have you considered that you just care about it as much as you do because it encroaches on a fandom that you deeply care about, because like that's fine and fair but I think that people shouldn't have to make OCs to explore those subjects. Like you used dreammare as an example I think? And like yeah you can make OC's that are the gods of darkness and light that are also brothers to explore that concept in fiction, but like why make fandom things at all then? Anything that you could express with a pre-existing character you could also express with an original one, so I feel like you're only encouraging the usage of that so that your personal passion doesn't have a side of the community that you don't like. No hate tho dawg like I get where you're coming from, which is also seems like the OC thing is just an interesting sidestep to many people's qualms with proshipping.

Okay, so I vividly remember when the news that a live-action Winx was coming, and everybody was soooooo stoked (including me), and there was the craziest surge of fancast tweets ever. Like, I literally fought with someone on Twitter who fancasted Madelaine Petsch as Bloom, and I was like...well, no! Either way, the role went to Abigail Cowen, who actually plays Dorcas in 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina', which is a part of the Riverdale universe that Madelaine Petsch is also in because, well, she's in Riverdale. And then K-pop stans were fighting over whether or not Twice's Momo or Blackpink's Lisa would be a better Musa; it was just a crazy day. Understandably so; it's always a big deal when beloved animated shows are adapted into something more real. I personally was jumping for joy.

And then the promo pics were released, and everybody very quickly went, "wtf?" (including me)

Good god, those outfits were so fucking awful. No, they weren't, actually, they were pretty normal, but when you take into account the source content, it was actually pretty fucking bad. That was only a part of the outrage, though; a lot of it came from the whitewashing of Flora's character, which actually wasn't whitewashing but a completely new character named "Terra." Which. Is so...! they ended up introducing Flora later, but I feel like that was due in part to the outrage because, similarly to Bratz, Winx was partially so popular due to its diverse range of characters and cutting out the Latina character to replace her with a white one with the EXACT SAME POWERS is absurd.

Also, they whitewashed Musa, a fully Chinese character. The actress that plays her is part Singaporean, which, yes, is Asian, but they're not interchangeable. Even crazier is she's mostly European and very white-passing, so it's like, uhhhhh.

I do love the dark-skin representation with Aisha, tho, like they ate that ONE thing.

Okay, so now for MY thoughts. I don't hate the show, not in the slightest. I only watched season 1, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the only reason I didn't watch s2 is because when it came out, I didn't have the steam to watch something entirely new, and I ended up just forgetting about it. I don't think the show is bad; I just think that when you remember the name it's attached to, it becomes very, very bleak in comparison to its source material.

There's been a very big trend within the past ten or so years where big media companies are "rebooting" childhood favorites but with darker and more mature plots, which was cool the first couple of times, like Riverdale s1, absolute gold (before it devolved into whatever tf it became) and the early seasons of chilling adventures of Sabrina. It was something new and fresh like Twin Peaks meets your beloved animated characters from when you were kids, but it very quickly started to feel like it was an easy way to gain an audience. Fate: The Winx Saga could've been something good had it not been attached to the Winx brand. But then it would've run the risk of failing (which it did anyway) instead of being an overnight smash hit solely because of the namesake. Even if people hate watched it, those are still views, and those company execs get their paychecks.

Like I said, I'd have no qualms about it if it was an original series, and oftentimes I forgot that it wasn't one. But that's the problem, it wasn't.

Making live-action versions of cartoons will always prove to be difficult because those cartoons aren't necessarily meant to translate into real life; that's the whole point. They're not real. They're different and original and have special powers, unrealistic proportions, and weird stances!! When those cartoons are made into life action shows, they try to make them as natural as possible bc, duh, a real person doing those things would look dumb as hell, but also, those shows were enjoyed because of all of those little things that don't translate well in real life. At least that's why I enjoyed them.

I feel like I'd be doing a disservice to even compare the shows because, in my head, they're not even remotely similar. Like it was beyond "making it darker," it really was just an entire show; there was even some continuity between the Archie comics and the bizarre acid trip that was Riverdale. I know I probably sound like a broken record saying how drastically different it was, but the laundry list of differences is so insanely long.

I've rewatched the original Winx many, many times. I know the pilot episode like the back of my hand and all of the major plot points of the first few seasons (bc I abandoned it once that 3d animation came into play). I supposed this is how people who watch movie adaptations of books feel, pointing out details that are "minor" but don't feel minor when you know the source material so well.

Here's a list of differences I can think of off the top of my head from the first season alone because I didn't watch the second in its entirety, so this is just from my understanding:

alfea is in Solaria, which...ughhh, don't piss me off. It's located in Magix in the OG series, along with the Cloud Tower (school for witches) and the Red Fountain (school for specialists), which, btw, were both axed as far as I know.

Witches are kinda sorta a thing? Instead of witches going to a whole different school and having their own unique powers, they live in hiding and are called blood witches because they blood bend.

There are no Trix, just Beatrix. Who is a fairy and an annoying evil one at that?

They are all British. Everyone is British. I don't understand why Bloom is the token American. I don't understand why she is the sole American to go to that school; it doesn't make sense to me in the slightest. Like, if it's a school for all fairies, then...why? And if it was only for British fairies, then...why?

Sky and Stella date, there is so Brandon; in fact, most of the specialists have been axed. (Helia plz come back to me, bae. I took you for granted last time)

Obviously, there's no flora until season 2...which. Don't pmo.

I can't think of any more off the top of my head, but those are the ones that really stuck with me well over a year after I've seen it.

so what does this mean? This means...well, idk what this means. Like I said previously, the show, if it was standalone, would be absolutely fire i think, but the moment they attached the Winx name to it, it suddenly had really big shoes to fill, and it just couldn't do it, not with those major changes. So many beloved aspects of the original show were taken out for a bunch of new things to be added in, making it feel like something completely new.

If the show wasn't advertised as a Winx show and someone approached me saying, "Hey, ro, if you like Winx, you'll like this show because it's like a darker, more mature version of it." I'd be interested. But the moment it became "Hey, ro, have you seen the new winx show?" it became something else, something with expectations, which often doesn't fare well for live adaptations.

You know... when you look at all those Jeagers who left there past behind for one reason or another... I am not sure I do understand Kasims yet. I have to play closer attention to it this time...

I have 3 points and should get an additional one after doing all the sidequests. So... who do we not do? Ashen? Seems to be the most logical choice. I do like her, don't get me wrong! But I feel like between Risette, Elaine, Judith and Renne she is kind of the odd one ^^'

I should really go back to Riveri and read that Renne-Story to finally know fully whats up with these two (I just read a summary but I obviously miss bits and pieces...) but I can just not find the time for all the rest of that stories to watch and to Read completely instead of just doing away with a quick summary. I really need to finally read sunshine Agnes for obvious reasons but I do not have time for that either! Ah! I need more free time!

You know Elaine and I have some qualms with each other, but I think its absolutely adorable that such an otherwise disgustingly mature woman kept her love for Mishy.

But I think its a bit a theme for some of these characters. Van is supposed to be a much darker shade of white (which is Grey XD) thank Estelle, Lloyd and Rean were, but instead of constantly drinking bear, smoking and looking at dirty magazines while planning his next trip to the brothel (not saying he was never there before...) he is eating cake and just loving to play with his car. Elaine, otherwise absolutely mature and above many things, is still a big fan of Misty. Judith, being a well known actress that comes across as calm and mature when she is doing her job as an actress is actually really... well... calm and mature, if you get me XD Like in the end, they all keep their inner child somehow. Which is really cute, thinking about the fact that these characters are older than the average Trails-Characters were, when they started out on their journey.

(Makes you wonder tho... if we do get another protagonist in the next arc, if he will be closer to his thirties or if they go back to the barely legal-characters... Honesty I would say I do not have a preference. Unlike some Persona-Fans, I never minded playing the 16 year old high-schooler that has some real love-live-issues many kids their age have and struggle with finding out who they are and what they want in life and whatnot. But as someone who is hitting 36 in a few days I don't mind playing characters closer to my age either...)

You know I do not wish for Elaine to be Vans endgame. But I still wish he would fulfill that promise and take her to Mishelam. Just as a friend if it were up to me of course, but I feel like this is one of those many things between them that they couldn't really get closure for and thus it would only be right, to get their overall closure after having a wonderful day at a place were you can make a wishy with Mishy.

Shippings or not... Elaine visiting Mishelam really is a thing that should be in the Epilogue after we have finally finished Vans arc... tho I still secretly hope for a Wedding and another golden ending á la CS4 just not with Van and Elaine as bride and groom XD Not to mention, IF we get another wedding, Van and everyone else should get in line because Joshua and Estelle should come first. We've been waiting for this for YEARS, after all...

This is one of the side-missions that I kind of want to stay on top of in the other Calvard-Games, because that whole thing is right up my ally XD

Wasn't that Monster-Summoning flute supposed to be an artifact? Home come everyone and their mother has one these days? Then again... knowing what Artafacts are these days it might make more sense than onbe would think at first glance that things like the flute can be produced at this point in time.

Oh... so this is an actual actifact just with limited powers? Even that would make some sort of sense. Because somewhere... someone must have produced these things somehow and the one G had was the real deal, while this one might just be a prototype or an early version of it. Basically like the Battle-Orbments change and get better over the years so did the development of that flute. God knows what it was used for tho...

You know... the reason why I could never finish undertale was (among other things I have to admit) because I just couldn't do the pacifist route. Because I am so used to doing bad things in games to win I just... can not be a pacifist in one XD Which is why I only warned that fake priest or whatever guy of things going to go down. I wanted his monster to eat him alive, because this is what he did to the poor fools who believed his lies. He is playing with Karma, so its time for his own Karma to do its job. Cruel? Yes! But still well deserved.

So the leader of ASO runs around with an A-Rank-Bracer up for S-Rank-Promotion in a district that is law-less. And we meet here, an Enforcer, some high ranking member from Heiyuee and a Church-Guy! WTF?! This game mixes together the weirdest kind of people...

My (Not So Fun) experience with Baldur's Gate 3, so far.

So the whole idea of me getting Baldur's Gate 3 was playing it with friends. I have so far enjoyed playing DnD again after the DnD discord I was in got dissolved. I believed it would be fun.

Up until they wanted to play with mods. It became an infuriating experience re-download, reloading, failing to get these mods to work, specifically a No Party Limit mod.

So we finally got the mods to work.

In my own save, I have just met a guy named Withers, cool chill undead looking dude, did not have qualms with me taking his stuff.

I did not know how individualised the experience was. Sure, particular individuals could choose to rescue Shadowheart or the brain thing, that makes sense for it to be on a person by person case. But I thought, as with DnD, that major story beats would require us all to be present to act. But apparently it's not the case.

I have missed pretty much all story stuff past meeting Withers in the ruined monastery. Going to a gate and meeting Wyll, rescuing Karlach, reuniting with La'zael.

I could not catch up, because I was unaware that you had to warp out of camp and it didn't plop you back in the world after the long rest, no one told me about the listen in function and some decided to split to rescue Karlach by themself and almost die while the rest of us were dealing with, goblins, I think.

The next actual thing where all of us were present for was going down the well and fighting the warp spiders. Up until people were "having fun punting people down the hole" further up.

No one informed me that Feather Falling had already been cast, so I cast it myself and I think it cancelled out, so a few of us got downed jumping into the hole and I had to use my Revivify scroll to get Asterion back. Only to die myself so the others could get away from the minotaurs that were here apparently. It was not a fun first session.

The second session, just put us at some underground place with gnomes? Who killed a bunch of Dark elves and were trying to clear a cave in. No one caught me up to speed on how we got there, only that the boat ride only let like, one person on, despite also seeing the Cutscene for it.

Suffice to say, I have not had fun playing BG3 and I feel left out. I have made this clear to the two still playing at this session since the others weren't available.

A few other gripes

One of the two in that session is a whore for customisations, some of the mods we downloaded were hair options and a NSFW version of costume pack. She was not the best at explaining the story since she preferred creating Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, and Team Aang over getting past Act 2 (I never even fucking knew there were acts Until she said she hadn't gotten past the act)

The other person, obsessed with Asterion, wants to get perfect scores with him, so he can be a dhampir as well. Just as bad at explaining, but we have fun playing Pokemon TCG in person and online.

I don't think I'll be playing BG3 much after this, unless I feel like joining a session with enough people.

Karlach do be indeed hot tho, glad the others let me party with the girls (Again, one person obsessed with Asterion, Customiser Girl was playing solo BC her IRL boyfriend wasn't on to play).

I've started a Takahashi Fumiya and Shison Jun drama hunt cus of gifs I seen from fermat cuisine by you and the couple other people making gifs ehehehe. That show was sooo good and now I need to find more good movies/shows w them in it! Other than fermat I only ever saw the yu yu hakusho live action (which I loved even if they were forced to condense too much into 5 eps, the actors and fight choreo was niiiice) haha. Do you know other shows or films w either of them you rec??

Actually nonnie I'm only new to Jdramas so I haven't really been able to check out their ENTIRE filmography (T . T) But I'll list out the ones I've watched (quite a lot more fumiya than jun stuff unfortunately) and maybe you can try checking them out if you'd like.

Takahashi Fumiya films/series

our secret diary (2023) - film, super cute sweet basic high school romance. not groundbreaking or anything but like a delicious dish of dessert you know you're going to enjoy. i think it's a total must watch if you're looking for a lighthearted romcom.

kimi no hana ni naru (2022) - series, fumiya plays ML and leader of a flopping boygroup. i'm not a huge fan of noona romance (FL is ML's former high school teacher) but that wasn't really the problem for me here. i just had qualms with FL's acting and fumiya was hard carrying for the entire series tbh. the music is VERY good (really feel good generic bg music *\(^o^)/*. fumiya looks extremely good in this series tho (understandable since he's playing an idol) |(￣3￣)| available on netflix.

themis no kyoshitsu: legal seishun hakusho (2023) - series, it's a law school drama and fumiya plays supporting role as one of the students. maybe it's because i watched other law tbs dramas so this one was underwhelming for me but i watched it just for fumiya and thought it was alright.

waru: hataraku no ga kakko warui nante dare ga itta (2022) - series, fumiya plays a lovable intern who has a crush on quirky FL (plays by the fabulous imada mio whom i adore). i had the worst 2ml syndrome and although i'm kinda glad FL technically doesn't end up with anyone i was stilllll rooting for fumiya's character so much. fumiya has more screentime than i initially thought and i loveeeee his character in this one (an adorable cutie).

saiai (2021) - series, fumiya plays a supporting role in this thriller mystery drama. i really liked this one but it wasn't because of fumiya, his screentime was minimal but the suspense was good. he's got that soft babie fumiya look for this one. it felt like a makjang kdrama. i recommend if you're in the mood for something thrilling (i think it's available on netflix as my dearest?).

bokura ga koroshita, saiai no kimi (2021) - series, fumiya plays the lead role in this thriller romance. i don't like series that leave me with way too many questions at the end so it was frustrating but fumiya's acting was insane so it was worth it. but very bloody and mild gore so trigger warning for that.

muchuu-sa, kimi ni (2021) - series, i think this was my first ever fumiya series but at the time i watched it i just thought it's a cute bromance series. kinda a strange dorama but it's healing and soft in a way.

divoc-12 (2022) - film, it's an anthology film so like a collection of short films so it's just 10 min really. i just watched it because CURLY HAIR FUMIYA.

Shison Jun films/series

joshiteki seikatsu (2018) - series, wonderfully heartwarming short series where jun plays a fabulous transgirl. i love it so much you can see i have started giffing for this series even though the raw quality is god awful (T . T)

gokushufudo (2020) - series, i ADORE this series. the premise is so wacky like it's about an ex yakuza/mafia dude adjusting to his new life as a house husband. jun plays an underling of ex-yakuza who assists him with various tasks. it's so funny i almost died laughing watching this one ✌︎('ω')✌︎.

high & low the worst and the worst x (2019 and 2022) - films, jun plays the lead role in this action comedy. i had fun watching but i wasn't really invested in this story. but like the acting and the music is excellent. if you like yu yu hakusho, i think you'll enjoy these films. both are available on netflix last time i checked.

i know that this answer probably wasn't that helpful but i hope once you start going down that takahashi fumiya or shison jun rabbit role, you'll find some series that you'll enjoy ٩( ᐛ )و

I will gladly talk to anyone about Kayla and Austin, or basically anyone in the Apollo Cabin.

My hc about Kayla starting camp was that her satyr was Coach Hedge, since, in The Last Olympian, Percy reads a letter from Coach Hedge saying he's in Toronto and the power of pan wasn't working. And who do we know was from Toronto, Canada? KAYLA! So, if this is true, she would've literally just came to camp.

As for Kayla's age, unlike Austin, it isn't specific. The first time I read it, I took "younger" to mean "younger than Will" though I'm not sure why. I think part of younger me's reasoning is that Apollo doesn't compare her age to Meg's, as you said. Rereading it does point me to say she could be younger than Austin, as his age was stated between Will and Kayla's, but I'm stubborn and since I decided when I was like 12 that Kayla was like 13, 14ish in THO, I have thus used that age ever since in my own fics.

But that being said, I also love bringing up that Kayla and Austin were there at the battle, and survived! That doesn't negate the fact that like ¾ of the cabin kicked the bucket in that battle.

I also like pointing out that in The Lost Hero, there is said to be six Apollo campers leading the sing along. We can assume that 3 of the 6 are Will, Austin, and Kayla (while Will is not musically talented, he is counselor and would have to help lead sing alongs). What happened to the other three? Since we can assume Will is the oldest (since camp counselor goes to a) oldest or b) seniority, and if we take Will's backstory from TSATS he came to camp at around 9, meaning that he'd've only been at camp 3-4 years by The Battle of Manhattan, which I don't think could give enough time for seniority unless the other three came to camp older). (If anyone wants a side tangent about Annabeth's counselor status at 12, please ask, I don't wanna go too far off topic here), that means they couldn't have gone off to college, or to the work force, and while we see more people at camp in TLH than in THO (since TLH overlaps with the beginning of Winter Break in the northern hemosphere and Summer break in the southern hemosphere) it is possibly they could've gone to school or to live with their mortal parents, but we know there's been no contact with Apollo since the battle against Gaea, and communication shut down a few months after, so is it too harsh to claim that I doubt an Apollo camper would be in the mortal world when their father (who we know from Will and Michael is one of the most active mortal parents, as for evidence if wanted, because I have it in my head, I just don't feel like flipping through the books to find it unless someone needs it) is not answering and then IMs stop working?

Based on this, I've concluded that the other three must've died in the Battle against Gaea, because we know there are casualties (because Nico's been doing funeral rights between when the battle ended and Will seeks him out to get checked up on, which has been about 3 days) but the only named one is Octavian.

In my own 3 days fic, I worked with this idea that three Apollo kids died during the battle—by having Will have to a) call the parents of the dead kids as their counselor, and b) when one of the mortal parents asks if they could bury her instead of doing a traditional Greek funeral, go help the satyrs bring the casket to the rented hearse—again, it is not too out there to believe Chiron would have the counselors call the dead kid's mortal families, despite being young themselves, because he had no qualms about Percy telling Nico about Bianca, and Mr. D (if he were here, which he isn't) honestly wouldn't care except with Castor.

Wayne had always liked the quiet. He had always enjoyed spending time on his own, in his trailer, with the door closed, keeping the world outside. He had liked the quiet - until Eddie moved in with him and the quiet abruptly became something of the past. It was not just the noisy music or even Eddie's big voice, no, everything about Eddie was loud: black clothes scattered everywhere, dirty dishes piling up on every flat surface available, all kinds of boxes and containers filled with questionable goods in the most random places... And when that loud presence disappeared from the trailer for good, Wayne suddenly found out that he wasn't so fond of the quiet anymore.

He knew that it was simply the way things were supposed to go, that it was only healthy for children to move out and start a life of their own. Steve and Eddie were over the moon with their tiny apartment in the city, and Eddie still called him almost daily - but the empty, quiet space he left was so very tangible. Wayne couldn't even bring himself to take back his place in the bedroom that had become Eddie's. He wanted that room to stay available for Eddie and Steve when they'd come to visit, or for the other kids who had wriggled their way into Wayne's life and would randomly show up at the trailer at the most inconvenient times. Even though the quiet of that room was taunting him, he needed it to keep being Eddie's room.

He was balancing on a ladder, scrubbing at a big piece of mold on the ceiling that he'd never even noticed when Eddie was still occupying the room, when he heard the front door open.

'Over here!' he called out upon the sound of Scott's voice singsonging his name.

A few seconds later, the man appeared in the doorway with that signatory bright smile of his on his face.

'Are you cleaning up the room?' He sounded surprised.

'Just makin' it habitable,' Wayne muttered, vaguely gesturing to the big black spot above his head. 'For when someone stays over, I mean.'

He carefully climbed down and discarded the gloves he was wearing to greet Scott properly.

'Hey,' Scott said, quietly. 'I always thought that this would go without saying, but just to be clear, you always have a place with me. You know that, right?'

Wayne frowned. Usually he was the one struggling to say exactly what he meant and Scott the one to read between the lines without any trouble. He didn't quite know how good he was at this thing now that the roles were reversed, so he decided to play it safe and not try to fill in the blanks by himself.

'What do ya mean?' he asked instead, simple and to the point.

A somewhat sheepish look crept over Scott's face. He took his time to reply, opting to press a kiss to Wayne's temple first, and then another one to his cheek, before softly brushing his lips over the tip of Wayne's ear and whispering, 'You can move in with me.'

Wayne tightened his grip around Scott's waist and rested his head in the crook of Scott's neck, letting himself be gently rocked back and forth while he thought about the right answer.

It was a big question. A loaded question even, for Wayne. Even though they had been together for almost five years, they had never actually talked about living together. Scott had always tacitly respected that Eddie and Wayne were an inseparable unit - until they weren't anymore. Until now.

It wasn't like Wayne had never thought about it. But he had a hard time actually imagining himself living in Scott's house. The trailer was his home, no matter how crappy it was - but it was even more than that. It was about who he was as a person. He was a trailer park guy, through and through. Had never known anything else. It was part of his DNA. And even though he had no qualms staying the night at Scott's place multiple times a week, something inside of him still squirmed at the thought of actually living in some neat three-bedroom house in the suburbs. Truth be told, it felt goddamn suffocating to him.

'I don't think I can,' he finally admitted. 'I'd feel like a guest in my own house.'

'You still feel like a guest in my house?' Scott asked. He didn't sound hurt or rejected at all, only mildly amused. God, Wayne loved this man so much.

'Not when you're there,' Wayne quietly admitted. 'But I wouldn't feel at home in the suburbs.'

His counter proposal died on his tongue before he could even think of saying it out loud. It was far too ridiculous, asking Scott to come and live in this goddamn trailer with him, to sell his house and instead come live among the trailer trash, where the water ran cold half the time and mold was spreading over the ceilings, not to speak of that leak in the kitchen or the fact that they wouldn't even have a real bedroom to sleep in. He knew that Scott would never laugh at him, but there was no doubt that Scott would feel just as much out of place in a trailer park as Wayne would in suburban Hawkins.

'Okay,' Scott simply said, placing another gentle kiss against Wayne's lips. 'Want me to help you combat that mold, then?'

And who would've ever thought that loving could be so easy?

Scott didn't bring it up anymore, after that. He seemed perfectly content having Wayne stay over two or three nights a week and visiting him in the trailer park after work. It was what they were used to, after all, a routine they had built over the past five years, and it was enough, even though the quiet left by Eddie became even thicker on the nights Wayne didn't spend with Scott.

One Saturday, when they were having their morning coffee together at Scott's place, both with a part of the newspaper in their hands and wrapped in comfortable silence save for the occasional remark about what they were reading, Scott pointed at something in his part of the paper.

'Have you seen this?'

Wayne leaned into him to see the article he was pointing at: it was an advertisement on the real estate page. A grainy black-and-white picture of -

'That the cabin at the other side of Lover's Lake?' Wayne asked.

Scott nodded enthusiastically, an eager sparkle lighting up his eyes.

Wayne thought about it, tried to imagine it: neither trailer park nor suburbs, but their very own secluded place in the woods they loved to hike through, where no one would watch them or judge them or gossip about them, where they could make a new home together.

'How many bedrooms?' he asked, and like always, Scott understood what was behind his words without even having to think about it.

'Just one, but it has an attic we could use as a guest room,' he answered. 'It's a fixer-upper, apparently, but I happen to know this guy with magical hands who loves to fix things.' His fingers brushed over Wayne's rough hands as he said it, and Wayne lifted an arm to brush through Scott's neatly combed hair.

He imagined sitting side by side with Scott in the morning sunlight every day, sharing newspapers while drinking their coffee together. Yeah, a cabin might just be the perfect place for both of them.

Theory : anti-spoiler culture ruined the soundtrack of the kenobi series

I relistened to the series' soundtrack last week and the thing most noticeable about it is.... how unremarkable it is. Aside from the main theme john Williams composed, can you remember or sing anything from it? Aside from few good parts here and there, the impression I have is very generic, bland, and definitely void of the trademarks that make a good, memorable star wars soundtrack in my opinion.

Now I'm not one to hang on established themes if new, equally good ones are introduced; the mandalorian is my favourite star wars music, it proved it was possible. That wasn't the case here. And the kenobi series is, let's be real, mainly an appeal to nostalgia of the prequel movies. The mandalorian made new themes for new characters; and used the force theme for Luke's appearance, because it would feel like it's missing if it didn't. kenobi was almost exclusively legacy characters, some of them with firmly established musical themes. Leia has a theme since A new hope. The series also repeated instances from the prequels that had distinct musical associations: order 66 had the march on the jedi temple, anakin's betrayal, and the obiwan - anakin duel was characterized by battle of the heroes and duel of the fates (whose absence is made more frustrating by its use for the trailer. I don't think it was unreasonable for us to expect in to be used in the series when the promo was done with it).

Leia's theme is not used at all, despite the fact it had come to represent even alderaan itself in tcw's soundtrack. It makes no sense not to use it. They used it for baby leia meeting breha, it was created for her 19yo self, why wouldn't it be relevant to her 10yo self ? Besides, the emperor's theme is also left unused despite being long established in both trilogies. The imperial march is used once, and while I don't mean to swing back and argue they should have used it as much as rebels did, I do think it was too little and felt missing in the village scene on mapuzo

Again I would not be complaining if the music we got was so great that it made me forget what it didn't include. I don't want star wars to become a repetitive loop of rehashing and never any new theme, only callbacks. I do feel those themes should be used, sparsely, when relevant, when telling the story of the characters they represent. And especially in flashbacks. And the "replacement" we were given instead is, frankly, mediocre. I can't help but feel a void listening to it, because if you are reusing so much of the prequels both narratively and emotionally... why leave out such a huge part of what made us feel this way? Why cut the wings off your most emotional scenes by not reminding us musically what it's connected to ?

If you have to make me watch order 66 one hundred times, make it good. I have qualms with tcw s7, but I can't say Victory and death wasn't efficient, fitting, and as good a track as revenge of the sith's order 66 music. And it's just my opinion, but kenobi's take didn't live up to the challenge.

Ok, rant over. Why did this happen tho ? Why wouldn't they use the established themes? This is just my theory, obviously I don't work at Lucasfilm, but my guess is : the composer didn't know who she was writing for, she couldn't know what to use when. They wanted to keep the importance of leia's role a secret at all costs and make it a big reveal, as was when the vader - obiwan confrontations would take place, and the emperor cameo. I wouldn't be surprised if it was kept from even the composer. Favloni kept Luke's cameo secret from as many people as possible, telling basically anyone but mark that it'd be plo koon, and the only reason we did get the force theme in my opinion was that it did not give away it was specifically luke but any jedi. That specific brand of bland soundtrack mediocrity reminds me of what happens with the mcu when composers don't know neither what characters nor the details of the scenes they're writing for, in opposition with the Black Panther soundtrack where ludwig Goransson was informed.

It betrays such a disdain for composers that Disney is fully choosing to sacrifice quality, retaining relevant and vital information, to exclude artists from key aspects of the projects they hired them to be a part of, stifling their abilities to give us good music, and all out of fear of leaks that they cannot stop from happening anyways. Word got out of Luke's cameo, word got out of leia's involvement. Total lack of spoilers is impossible to achieve, and striving for it is hindering the very art it claims to protect the enjoyment of. Besides, a good plot should be able to withstand spoilers, and the whole spoiler circus seems very much a way to manufacture hype by signaling to people that they should want to find out before anyone else. But I digress. My point is that the lack of involvement of the composers make for some very forgettable scores and it's a damn shame

Dariraeda, or maybe camdariraeda. But I also like not shipping Darius with anyone, depends on the mood

Darius & Eber mean so much to me, it's one of my absolute favorite Darius relationships and it gets ignored so often (I understand why but I'm still salty). Rebel trio too, bah I wish we got an episode about those three

4. Notp:

The worst theory for why Alador and Darius grew apart is that they were both into Odalia. Darius was never into Odalia, come on people

Darius x the prev GG kinda squicks me out too, I know the Grimwalkers tended to not live a long time so there's a chance he wasn't much older than Darius but the mentor-student ship dynamic has never been a favorite of mine

The foreshadowing that he was a rebel lies in him caring more about his fit than treason. I loved him immediately

Him yelling at Raine about the CATTs name, omg he's so whiny in the name of his ego sometimes haha

Vanlock, I just. Love how stupid they are. Loser wet cat addicts that have to interact because his daughter is his niece and vice versa, giant bitter exes energy, their dlc case & escapade were soooo funny

3. Brotp:

I can definitely see the appeal for hmmk and I sometimes vibe with fanart for it, but I significantly prefer them in a platonic/familiar sense than a romantic/sexual sense. A very unpopular opinion but idc haha

4. Notp:

Honestly the only ship I like for Herlock is vanlock, I really don't care for any of the others.

I know it's canonically disproven and doesn't really track for his character, but I like to sometimes think about a Herlock that gave up smoking & hard drugs when he became Iris' guardian

6. Favorite line from this character:

Though this was from the fan translation of the game years before the localization came out, the classic Herlock line "That deduction was so hot you'd hardly believe this detective is single." (I can't find it rn but I'm pretty sure that was the line. I also love his offer of jumping into a caldron of boiling wax for what equals ~16.4mil£ in today's money lmao)

Ooooh I'm so weak to second-hand embarrassment and this bitch caused it so frequently he's SO unhinged and cringe. Absolute loser of a man, should've been punched in the face by Ryuu after a big plot twist reveal

He's absolutely 100% a problematic fave. He steals, he lies constantly, he does hard drugs, he raised his daughter to think some random guy was her dad and let her believe said guy abandoned her, he's immensely flawed as an individual but he's really funny and has good intentions so. Problematic fave material
