#as I expected I am not liking this book but here’s a moment of Mary looking nice before the focus of the series comes into play#anyway Billy’s portrayal is unideal in ways that weren’t apparent in the previous issue because his role there was so minimal#jokes about his incompetence and inexperience as a hero#‘looks like he’s more used to playing a hero than actually being one’#that was such a highlight of the 2019 ongoing and like he was on the Justice League before that book#this version of the character was introduced in 2012#he’s not new#it’s legitimately overstretching believability even if I liked this take on the character to keep playing him as inexperienced for so long#the Wizard’s characterization also sucks but I already knew that just from the premise#anyway I’m glad this book is biweekly so it’ll be over soon#dc#billy batson#mary batson#my posts#comic panels

hello, do you have any videos or youtube channels recs to learn more about being intersex (that touch on any topic)? if you do, tysm!
I do, thank you for asking! I apologize that many of these are not closed captioned in advance, but I've compiled a playlist of SOME videos that I've seen online. I would like to add some clarification, though. Many forms of media that are available will use the derogatory word, "hermaphrodite", to describe intersex people. Due to its extensive history in medical pathologization, it is considered a slur and should not be used by perisex (non-intersex) people. Reclaimed usage of the term (similar to slurs reclaimed by the queer community) is only reserved for intersex people due to said history. However, medical contexts continue to use it as a diagnostic label, so many intersex people must use it when trying to receive affirming healthcare.
As a result, it's important to be aware of this information when many forms of media, both old and new, contain the usage of this word.
While the word is genuinely relevant for discussions of animal and plant biology, it does not accurately describe the anatomy of intersex people. Unlike animals and plants, human beings--whether perisex or intersex--are generally not capable of having two different sets of fully functioning reproductive anatomy. Sex (for humans) is a bimodal spectrum, and is not a binary. As such, bodies can look many different ways due to innate variations of sex characteristics!
Now, I'll highlight a few specific videos in particular below:
A 2016 TedxTalk by an important intersex scholar, Dr. Georgiann Davis. She has written dozens of extremely important publications over the past decade! Here is a 2011 publication and a 2015 publication discussing the pathological medicalization of intersex people , and a 2016 publication that additionally describes the medicalization of trans experiences.
Emily Quinn's 2018 TedxTalk and her 2018 Ted WOMEN presentation (the second one is captioned). She also has a YouTube channel!
Pidgeon Pagonis has a YouTube channel, and they have been featured in several different interviews across the years during their ongoing advocacy work. They have a 2019 documentary about their experiences, and they have a website.
Here is an archived video from 1997 of intersex people discussing their experiences with other intersex people at a gathering held by Intersex Society of North America, whose work is currently continued by interACT.
In collaboration with Human Rights Watch, interACT worked on a 2017 report and video to raise awareness of the harms of medically unnecessary surgeries performed on intersex children without fully informed consent. The video is captioned.
Activist Sean Saifa Wall has spoken extensively about his experiences on media platforms, and he is a co-founder of the Intersex Justice Project, which focuses on empowering Black and Brown intersex people in advocacy work.
There is a 90 minute documentary that was released in 2023 called Every Body, and it details the life experiences of three intersex people.
While not a video, there is also the personal experiences of intersex youth as documented in a 2023 doctoral research dissertation done in collaboration with interACT: “'Support the shit out of them:” Intersex emerging adults’ socialization experiences and recommendations for caregivers of an intersex child".
Overall, I hope this is suitable resource, and thank you again for the question!

Why I switched from Choices to Romance Club 📖
I started playing Choices in 2019 and I was always so delighted when they veröffentlicht published a new story. I really loved playing that game, but last year I discovered a girl on YouTube who was posting some let's plays from Theodora and I immediately wanted to try this game.
~ The graphic is waaay better and more realistic.
No reused faces nor characters. I am always amazed about every new book and its characters. Even the so-called "unimportant" side characters have their own design and are not reused which cannot be said about Choices unfortunately. 😔
~ Better character development. Your choices really matter and have different outcome for the MC.
The way you interact with each of the characters has its consequences. The LI's also interact like real people and if you date someone and then decide to switch to an other LI, their romance path is closed. You really have to choose wisely for whom you decide to be with.
~ Quality over quantity
I don't really remember how many books are currently published (ended and ongoing) in RC, but it's definitely not as much as in the Choices app. I HATE the VIP books and that fact that you have to wait thousand years for it to get widely released! 😵 And when you open the first chapter you see that it's just another single love interest book with some three macho guys you are not attracted to (I respect everyone who's into the standard "sexy" type of men, of course, it's just not me 😇) and three girls from whom you choose the kleinste smallest evil.
~ More accessible diamonds and teas
I LOVE Diamond Rush, Tea Parties and so on 😍 It's sooo player-friendly and so worth it! Even the access to diamonds and teas is more suited for wide audience and honestly - when RC is so generous and want to give you so much for free, then you want to buy some diamond/tea pack from them even more, because you know they value their players. 🙏
~ No single love interest books!
Oh my gosh, I have been so annoyed that most of the books Choices release lately is meant for single romance. The problem is not with faithfulness, but with the fact that everyone has their own definition of attraction and beauty. And most of the main LIs in single love interest books are written stereotypically (Bad Boy, guy nextdoor, rebellious girl...) I miss the plasticity of their personalities, of their appearances. Not everyone who matches today's beauty standards is actually beautiful. There should be diversity in LIs. Some of them should be curvier, more slender, with glasses, with bigger nose, with disability, with albinism... Just go on the street and look at the classic human beauty seen every day in public transport! Stop giving us some plain definition of beauty which lacks its own charm.
The only thing I would improve in RC would be the option to choose if we want to play as a male, female, non-binary...etc. As far as I know, only Gladiator's Chronicles have a male MC.
Now I have some personal highlights about Choices I'd like to get rid of because it's been in me for so long 🙉
First thing's first, The Princess Swap was such a good book. I loved the idea. Still, I've got a certain love-hate relationship with this book. First of all, biology and genetics does not make sense in this standalone. Secondly, lord Cecil was not as bad as everyone thinks. He and the king were my most favourite characters, actually. 🤭 Third, I was so annoyed by the prince/ss of Ismar. We were forced to marry them, we could not even say no.🤦
I loved BOLAS N° 1. I replayed the story twice. I was in love with Tyril Starfury. Even though I loved Kaya Duskraven more. She was sooo gorgeous! When they introduced the sequel to us I was naively hoping that we might get Kaya back. That we would find some magical artefact, for example, and bring her back to life, so that she can join the party and be our new love interest. I would definitely switch to her. Instead, we got Valax... I am a little bit disappointed by the sequel, to be honest. They were promising us so many mesmerizing things and I was just expecting a little more from the three years waiting episode. Not only did I not understand why Cherta and Willow joined our party and then they left afterwards... I was like: okay, new love interests apparently. And then whoosh, they vanished. And we ended up trapped with the Valax-drama until the last chapters... I respect everyone who likes the sequel, it is just not me. Unfortunately. I will stick to the good old first book, which I love. 🩷

LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN
April 11, 2023 (Tuesday)
HEATHER COX RICHARDSON
APR 12, 2023
The dramatic events in Nashville last week, when Republican legislators expelled state representatives Justin Jones and Justin Pearson, two young Black men, for speaking out of turn when they joined protesters calling for gun safety, highlighted a demographic problem facing the Republican Party. Members of Gen Z, the generation born between 1997 and 2012, grew up doing active shooter drills in their schools, and they want gun safety legislation. And yet, Republicans are so wedded to the gun industry and guns as part of party members’ identity that today, one day after five people died in a mass shooting in Louisville, Kentucky—including a close friend of Kentucky governor Andrew Beshear—the Indiana Senate Republicans passed a resolution honoring the National Rifle Association (NRA). Later this week, Republican leaders will speak at the NRA’s annual convention in Indianapolis, where firearms, as well as backpacks, glass containers, signs, and umbrellas, are prohibited. Those speakers will include former president Trump and former vice president Mike Pence. The resolution and the speeches at the NRA convention seem an unfortunate juxtaposition to the recent mass shootings. Abortion rights are also a place where the Republican Party is out of step with the majority of Americans and especially with people of childbearing age. Last Tuesday, Janet Protasiewicz, who promised to protect reproductive rights, won the election for the Wisconsin Supreme Court by an astonishing 11 points in a state where elections are often decided by less than a point. Victor Shi of Voters of Tomorrow reported that the youth turnout of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, increased 240% since the last spring general election in 2019. Youth turnout at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, increased 232%. Almost 90% of those young people voted for Protasiewicz. And yet the party needs to grapple with last Friday’s ruling by Trump-appointed Texas federal judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk that the Food and Drug Administration improperly approved mifepristone, a drug used for more than 50% of medically induced abortions, and that it must be removed from the market. The party also must grapple with a new Idaho law that makes it illegal for minors to leave the state to get an abortion without the consent of their parents. In New York today, Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg pushed back against Republican overreach of a different sort when he filed a lawsuit in federal court against Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) in his official role as chair of the House Judiciary Committee, the committee itself, and Mark Pomerantz, whom the committee recently subpoenaed, in response to a “brazen and unconstitutional attack by members of Congress on an ongoing New York State criminal prosecution and investigation of former President Donald J. Trump.” The lawsuit accuses Jordan of engaging in “a transparent campaign to intimidate and attack District Attorney Bragg” and to use congressional powers to intervene improperly in a state criminal prosecution. Like any defendant, the lawsuit says, Trump had every right to challenge his indictment in court. But rather than let that process play out, Jordan and the Republican-dominated Judiciary Committee “are participating in a campaign of intimidation, retaliation, and obstruction” that has led to multiple death threats against Bragg. Bragg’s office "has received more than 1,000 calls and emails from Mr. Trump's supporters,“ the complaint reads, “many of which are threatening and racially charged." “Members of Congress are not free to invade New York’s sovereign authority for their or Mr. Trump’s political aims,” the document says. “Congress has no authority to ‘conduct oversight’ into District Attorney Bragg’s exercise of his duties under New York Law in a single case involving a single defendant.” While Jordan and the Republicans defend Trump, there is a mounting crisis in the West, where two decades of drought have brought water levels in the region’s rivers to dangerously low levels. According to Benji Jones of Vox, who interviewed the former director of the Water Resources Program at the University of New Mexico, John Fleck, last year about the crisis, the problem has deep roots. One hundred years ago, government officials significantly overestimated the water available in the Colorado River System when they divided it among Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming through the Colorado River Compact of 1922. The compact provided a formula for dividing up the water in the 1450 miles of the Colorado River. It was designed to stop the states from fighting over the resource, although an Arizona challenge to the system was not resolved until the 1960s. On the basis of the water promised by the compact, the region filled with people—40 million—and with farms that grow much of the country’s supply of winter vegetables. Now, after decades of drought exacerbated by the overuse permitted by the Colorado River Compact and by climate change, Lake Powell and Lake Mead have fallen to critical levels. Something must be done before the river water disappears not only from the U.S., but also from Mexico, which in 1944 was also guaranteed a cut of the water from the Colorado River. The seven states in the compact have been unable to reach an agreement about cutting water use. Today the Interior Department released an environmental review of the situation that offered three possible solutions. One is to continue to follow established water rights, which would prioritize the California farmland that produces food. This would largely shut off water to Phoenix and Los Angeles. Another option is to cut water distribution evenly across Arizona, California, and Nevada. The third option, doing nothing, risks destroying the water supply entirely, as well as cutting the hydropower produced by the Glen Canyon and Hoover dams. There is a 45-day period for public comment on the plans, and it appears that the threat of the federal government to impose a solution may light a fire under the states to come up with their own agreement, but it is unlikely they will worry much about Mexico’s share of the water. Historically, states have been unable to agree on how to divide a precious resource, and the federal government has had to step in to create a fair agreement. Meanwhile, back in Tennessee, the fallout from last week’s events continues. Judd Legum has reported in Popular Information that Tennessee House speaker Cameron Sexton, a Republican, doesn’t live in his district as state law requires. And Tennessee investigative reporter Phil Williams of News Channel 5 reports that state representative Paul Sherrell, “who recently suggested bringing back lynching as a form of capital punishment, has been removed from the House Criminal Justice Committee.”

[ad_1] Paromita Das GG News Bureau New Delhi, 12th Dec. A Case of Citizenship Misrepresentation The Telangana High Court’s decision to declare Chennamaneni Ramesh, a four-time MLA from the Vemulawada constituency, as a German national reveals a deliberate act of citizenship misrepresentation. Justice B Vijaysen Reddy emphasized that Ramesh had provided false information while applying for Bharatiya citizenship in 2008. Despite holding a valid German passport and visiting Germany multiple times in 2023, Ramesh concealed these details to contest elections in Bharat, violating Bharatiya law. The Role of the Union Home Ministry This case had been brewing since 2019 when the Union Home Ministry annulled Ramesh’s Bharatiya citizenship. The ministry’s decision was based on substantial evidence that Ramesh had retained his German nationality while applying for Bharatiya citizenship. The Telangana High Court upheld the ministry’s findings, confirming that Ramesh was not stateless as he claimed, given his possession of a valid German passport until 2033. Impact on Electoral Integrity The court’s judgment underscores the critical importance of transparency in electoral declarations. Ramesh’s actions undermined the electoral rights of legitimate Bharatiya citizens by misleading voters and the judiciary. Dual citizenship, prohibited under Bharatiya law, not only contravenes the Representation of the People Act but also jeopardizes the credibility of the electoral process. The Financial Penalty: A Strong Deterrent As part of the judgment, the Telangana High Court imposed a fine of Rs 30 lakh on Ramesh. This includes Rs 25 lakh to be paid to Congress MLA Adi Srinivas for legal expenses and Rs 5 lakh to the Telangana High Court Legal Services Authority. Such penalties reinforce the financial and legal consequences of deceiving the judiciary and breaching electoral laws. The Representation of the People Act: A Crucial Safeguard The Representation of the People Act governs the conduct of elections in Bharat and explicitly disqualifies individuals who are not Bharatiya citizens or hold dual citizenship. The Act ensures that the electoral process remains transparent and that only bona fide Bharatiya citizens can contest elections. The court’s ruling in this case demonstrates the Act’s effectiveness in upholding electoral integrity. The Legal Precedent Set by the Verdict The Telangana High Court’s judgment sets a strong legal precedent. By emphasizing the non-negotiable nature of Bharatiya citizenship requirements, the ruling sends a clear message to public officeholders: any misrepresentation, particularly about citizenship, will result in severe consequences. Broader Implications of the Judgment This case brings to light the broader issue of citizenship controversies involving political leaders. Similar questions have been raised in the past about prominent figures like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Ongoing legal scrutiny of Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship status highlights the need for rigorous mechanisms to verify the eligibility of public representatives. A Call to Action for Electoral Accountability The judgment serves as a reminder to all political aspirants and public officeholders about the need for absolute adherence to the law. It underscores the fact that public office is a privilege that requires individuals to meet the highest standards of honesty and accountability. Reinforcing Trust in Democracy The ruling reinforces the foundational principles of Bharat’s democratic system by ensuring that laws governing citizenship and electoral eligibility are upheld. The judiciary’s vigilance in such cases strengthens public trust in democratic institutions and processes. Conclusion The Telangana High Court’s ruling against Chennamaneni Ramesh marks a pivotal moment for Bharat’s democracy. By prioritizing transparency and accountability, the court has set an example for maintaining the integrity of the electoral process. This verdict not only delivers
justice but also serves as a deterrent against future violations, reaffirming the judiciary’s role as the guardian of democratic values. Former Wisconsin Congressman and Fox Business host Sean Duffy has been nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as Secretary of Transportation. On Monday, Trump made the announcement, praising Duffy as a "tremendous and well-liked public servant" who would usher in what he called "The Golden Age of Travel." If the Senate confirms his nomination, Duffy will take charge of a large department with approximately 55,000 employees and an annual budget of $110 billion. He will be stepping into this role after current Secretary Pete Buttigieg.According to Al Jazeera, Duffy has been nominated at a time when the transportation sector is encountering serious challenges. These challenges include ongoing safety issues at Boeing, and a noticeable increase in road deaths since 2020. The Department of Transportation oversees a wide range of responsibilities that include policies for aviation, automotive, rail, and transit. Fact Check: Harris Says Violent Crime Is Down, Trump Says It's Up
Fact Check: Harris Says Violent Crime Is Down, Trump Says It's Up On the campaign trail, former President Donald Trump has claimed that violent crime has "skyrocketed" since 2020, while Vice President Kamala Harris asserts that violent crime has dropped to a "near 50-year low." Both candidates reference different federal statistics, leading to confusion among the public regarding the current state of crime in the U.S. Trump's Claim: Crime Has "Skyrocketed" Trump's assertion is based on the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), conducted by the Justice Department. This survey estimates national crime rates by asking individuals if they have experienced a crime in the past six months. According to the NCVS, violent crime offenses—including rape, robbery, and aggravated assault—were approximately 37% higher in 2023 compared to 2020. Trump specifically stated on social media that violent crime is up nearly 40% from 2020. While the NCVS provides valuable insights by capturing crimes that often go unreported, it does not include murder rates and has a margin of error. Jeff Asher, a crime data analyst, notes that the 2023 NCVS suggests violent crime likely fell slightly from 2022 levels and was statistically similar to 2019. He cautions against cherry-picking data from a single favorable year without considering broader trends. Harris's Claim: Crime at a "Near 50-Year Low" Conversely, Harris's claim is supported by the FBI's Uniform Crime Report, which tracks crimes reported by police departments. This report indicates that the rate of violent crimes—defined as rape, robbery, aggravated assault, and homicide—was about 6% lower in 2023 than in 2020. Asher confirms that Harris's assertion about violent crime being at a near 50-year low is accurate, as the 2023 rates are comparable to the lowest levels recorded since 1970. Although the FBI's data is based on voluntary participation from law enforcement agencies, over 16,000 agencies provided data in 2023, which enhances the credibility of the findings. Additionally, the Major Cities Chiefs Association has reported a 9.1% decrease in murders from 2020 to 2023 in 70 major U.S. cities. Context of Violent Crime Under Biden-Harris and Trump Experts highlight that violent crime rates have generally declined since the 1990s, with both NCVS and FBI data indicating that the current violent crime rate is substantially lower than in previous decades. Jillian Turanovic, an associate professor of sociology, emphasizes the importance of considering long-term trends and cautions against using 2020 as a baseline due to the unique societal disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. During Trump's administration, violent crime rates fell annually during his first three years in office but experienced a spike in 2020. Researchers attribute this increase to various factors, including the economic strain of the pandemic, a rise in gun sales, and protests following the murder of George Floyd. However, there is ongoing debate about the extent to which these protests contributed to the rise in crime. Conclusion The conflicting claims from Trump and Harris underscore the complexities involved in interpreting crime statistics. While both utilize valid data sources, it is essential to consider the context of their claims and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic when evaluating the current crime landscape. Both the NCVS and FBI data indicate that violent crime rates are not soaring but reflect broader trends that suggest a long-term decline. Green Bay Packers Work Out 6 Offensive Linemen
The Green Bay Packers are actively reshaping their team dynamics with strategic decisions. With an opening on their practice squad, the Packers are considering adding cornerback Robert Rochell, following the release that cleared room for wide receiver Romeo Doubs’ return.
Despite these roster adjustments, the primary focus during mid-week training was on evaluating the capabilities of free-agent offensive linemen.
The team assessed six prospects, including Keaton Bills, Zach Bailey, Andrew Coker, Mason Brooks, Matt Farniok, and Jack Wilson.
The spotlight among them is on Jack Wilson, who brings a unique athletic background as a former college basketball player.
These tryouts highlight the Packers’ ongoing efforts to strengthen their offensive line and enhance the overall roster.
The Journey of Jack Wilson and Zach Bailey in Professional Football
Jack Wilson is an intriguing prospect for the Packers because of his towering height of over 6’10”, which he showcased during the pre-draft process. Despite not having been signed by an NFL team before, his potential has certainly caught the attention of scouts.
Wilson’s athletic journey is diverse; he kicked off his college career at Oregon State, later moving to Idaho and Washington State, where he juggled playing both football and basketball. In 2022, Wilson made two starts at tackle for Washington State. By 2023, he was with Minnesota, focusing solely on basketball.
Meanwhile, Zach Bailey has yet to see regular-season action on offense in the NFL. However, his journey isn’t short of experience, as he’s been connected with six different teams since entering the league in 2019 as an undrafted player.
Recently released by the Atlanta Falcons, Bailey remains a player of interest for teams like the Packers, who are continually assessing their roster to better their Green Bay Packers odds as they aim for a successful season.
Profiles of Emerging Talents: Bills, Brooks, Coker, and Farniok
Keaton Bills, a 26-year-old offensive guard, might seem a bit older for a rookie, but that’s due to his LDS mission, which gives him a unique life experience. He had another year to play at Utah but chose to try his luck in the NFL. Bills was waived by the Buffalo Bills at the cutdown deadline in August. Despite being undrafted, his determination stands out as he vies for a spot in the professional league.
Mason Brooks took a slightly different path, making a name for himself at Western Kentucky, where he earned All-Conference USA honors. He later moved to Ole Miss for his final year. After going undrafted in 2023, Brooks spent some time with the Washington Commanders’ practice squad but got released during cuts. Although he briefly joined the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad in 2024, he’s still looking for a more permanent opportunity.
Andrew Coker, another undrafted rookie, was waived by the Las Vegas Raiders at the cutdown deadline. His talents, however, were recognized by the UFL’s Birmingham Stallions, who drafted him. Coker is keeping his options open, possibly heading to the spring league next year if the NFL doors remain closed for now.
Matt Farniok carries the most experience among these prospects. The center emerged from Nebraska and was picked in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He’s had the chance to start two NFL games in 2022, having been part of teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, and Detroit Lions. Farniok’s established skills make him a valuable contender for teams seeking reliable offensive line depth.
The Takeaway
The Green Bay Packers are carefully considering their roster decisions. With 10 offensive linemen already on their main roster and Donovan Jennings and Lecitus Smith on the practice squad, any new addition would mean replacing one of these players.
The team is focused on strengthening their lineup for better performance, and every move is aimed at ensuring they have the strongest possible roster for the upcoming games.

Prashant Kishor and Yogendra Yadav’s Contrasting Predictions for Lok Sabha Elections 2024
Renowned political analysts Prashant Kishor and Yogendra Yadav have recently offered their predictions for the outcome of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in 2024. While both analysts have provided their insights, their forecasts diverge on crucial points, adding intrigue to the electoral landscape. Here’s an in-depth look at their predictions and the implications for the political scenario:
1. Prashant Kishor’s Projections:
Kishor foresees a scenario where the BJP replicates its performance from the 2019 Lok Sabha elections but falls short of crossing the 370-seat mark.
He suggests that while the BJP may not exceed 400 seats, it is unlikely to drop below the 270-seat threshold necessary to form a government independently.
Kishor’s analysis underscores the significance of alliances and coalition politics in securing a majority in the Lok Sabha.
2. Yogendra Yadav’s Forecasts:
In contrast, Yadav presents a more conservative outlook for the BJP, predicting that the party will struggle to surpass the 300-seat mark.
He emphasizes the challenges faced by the BJP in achieving its ambitious ‘400 paar’ claim, suggesting that the party’s seat tally may fall short of expectations.
Yadav’s projections highlight the potential for shifts in the political landscape, particularly in key states, which could influence the final outcome of the elections.
3. Alignment with Alliance Dynamics:
Both analysts acknowledge the importance of alliances in shaping the electoral arithmetic.
Kishor’s assessment recognizes the role of NDA allies in bolstering the BJP’s prospects, albeit within a defined seat range.
Yadav’s analysis raises the possibility of the INDIA bloc, led by the opposition, emerging as a formidable challenger to the NDA, contingent on developments in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
4. Regional Insights and Seat Projections:
Yadav provides a detailed breakdown of seat projections across various regions, offering insights into potential gains and losses for the BJP.
His projections suggest nuanced dynamics in states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Odisha, with implications for the BJP’s overall performance.
Additionally, Yadav anticipates significant shifts in heartland states like Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and others, which could shape the final outcome of the elections.
5. Impact of Regional Factors:
Yadav’s analysis underscores the influence of local dynamics, including state-specific issues and political narratives, on electoral outcomes.
He highlights the potential for surprises in states like Karnataka, West Bengal, Northeastern states, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir, which may defy conventional expectations.
6. Implications for the NDA and Opposition:
Kishor and Yadav’s divergent forecasts offer contrasting narratives for the BJP-led NDA and the opposition alliances.
While Kishor’s projections suggest continuity in the BJP’s dominance, albeit within defined parameters, Yadav’s analysis hints at potential vulnerabilities and opportunities for the opposition to capitalize on.
In conclusion, Prashant Kishor and Yogendra Yadav’s predictions provide valuable insights into the evolving dynamics of Indian politics, highlighting the complexities and uncertainties inherent in electoral forecasting. As the elections unfold, the accuracy of these projections will be closely scrutinized, shaping the narrative of India’s democratic journey.

Poonawalla Fincorp’s Strategic Shift: What’s Next After Abhay Bhutada's Transition to Non-Executive Director
Poonawalla Fincorp, a key player in India's NBFC sector, has recently seen a significant leadership change. Abhay Bhutada, who played a crucial role as Managing Director, is moving to the role of Non-Executive Director. This shift marks a strategic evolution for Poonawalla Fincorp, aligning with its long-term vision and growth plans.
A Visionary Leadership Journey
Abhay Bhutada’s tenure with Poonawalla Fincorp highlights visionary leadership and strategic insight. With a strong background as a serial entrepreneur, Bhutada initially created and sold his own digital lending-focused NBFC to Adar Poonawalla in 2019. This acquisition laid the groundwork for Poonawalla Finance, which quickly expanded under their combined leadership. Within two years, the loan portfolio of Poonawalla Finance grew to over Rs 2,000 crore, showcasing the effective integration of innovative technology and strategic market acumen.

The acquisition of Magma Fincorp in 2021, followed by its rebranding to Poonawalla Fincorp, was a significant milestone. Under Bhutada’s leadership, Magma Fincorp transformed from a struggling entity into a dynamic and strong financial institution. The integration of teams, technology, and a clear strategic vision was critical to this transformation, paving the way for Poonawalla Fincorp’s next chapter.
Strategic Rationale Behind the Leadership Change
Bhutada’s move to a non-executive role was a well-thought-out decision aimed at sustaining the company’s growth and innovation. Bhutada expressed his intention to step back from daily operations after solidifying the company’s foundation over the past few years. His focus has always been on creating scalable digital lending platforms and experimenting with various products and strategies to perfect the business model.
With Poonawalla Fincorp’s transformation complete and post-acquisition challenges resolved, Bhutada felt it was the right time to hand over operational responsibilities to a new managing director. This decision faced initial resistance from both the board and Adar Poonawalla, highlighting Bhutada’s vital role in the company’s success. However, Bhutada’s confidence in the current management team and the strong foundation he established convinced them of the merits of this transition.
Continuing Influence and Strategic Guidance
As a Non-Executive Director, Abhay Bhutada will continue to offer strategic insights and guidance, ensuring Poonawalla Fincorp stays on its growth path. His role will involve supporting strategic, financial, and investment decisions at the group level, utilizing his extensive experience and vision. This transition allows Bhutada to focus on broader strategic initiatives while the new managing director handles daily operations.

The Road Ahead for Poonawalla Fincorp
The transition comes at a time when Poonawalla Fincorp is well-prepared for its next phase of growth. The company’s strategic focus will likely remain on expanding its digital lending portfolio, leveraging technology to enhance customer experience, and exploring new market segments. The strong foundation laid by Abhay Bhutada, MD of the company, provides a springboard for the company to innovate and expand its offerings.
Expansion of Digital Lending
Digital transformation, a cornerstone of Bhutada’s strategy, is expected to continue. Poonawalla Fincorp will likely invest in cutting-edge technology to streamline operations and improve customer experience. This focus on digital lending can help the company tap into underserved markets, offering personalized financial solutions at scale.
Product Diversification
Part of Poonawalla Fincorp’s success lies in its diverse range of financial products. Moving forward, the company may explore new financial products tailored to emerging market needs, further solidifying its position in the NBFC sector.

Strengthening Partnerships
Strategic partnerships with technology providers, fintech startups, and other financial institutions can enhance Poonawalla Fincorp’s capabilities and market reach. Collaborative efforts can lead to innovative solutions and expanded service offerings.
Sustainable Growth
In line with global trends, Poonawalla Fincorp might focus on sustainable and responsible lending practices. Incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria into their operations could attract a new segment of conscious investors and customers.
Conclusion
Abhay Bhutada’s transition to a non-executive role at Poonawalla Fincorp marks a new chapter in the company’s journey. His visionary leadership has transformed the company into a robust financial powerhouse. By stepping back from day-to-day operations and focusing on strategic guidance, Abhay Bhutada ensures that Poonawalla Fincorp is well-equipped to navigate future challenges and seize emerging opportunities.
The company’s strong foundation, coupled with a clear strategic direction, positions it for continued success in the dynamic NBFC sector. Some very real features of fake news
In a time where the internet is so prevalent, this gives rise to the creation and spread of fake news. Fortunately, there are some key features often marking news items as fake! In this blog, I consider key features of fake news relating to this article, claiming Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy purchased a royal English property from King Charles.
Fake news has two dimensions distinguishing it from misinformation: the factual accuracy of the information and the intent of the author to mislead. Here, according to fact-checker Snopes, the publication (“The London Crier”) was created just a week before this article went viral, the “Terms” page is filled with lorem ipsum text, some of its other articles are in Russian, and the social media account who shared the story was a Kremlin associate. So it seems reasonable to conclude that the entire publication is bogus and created with the aim of deceiving and misleading readers. It makes sense, then, to assume articles on known fake news websites, like this one, are probably fake too.
The Terms of Service page, which is filled with lorem ipsum (filler) text and no actual content
The intent of the publisher and distribution channel, though, are just two ways of identifying fake news – we must also consider content and linguistic practices common in fake news, as identified by Vamanu (2019):
The first example is using images to capture attention, which are often fake or lacking context. In this article, we see a photo of King Charles and Zelenskyy shaking hands:
The photos at the top of the article, showing Zelenskyy shaking King Charles' hand, above a photo of Highgrove House with a "SOLD" label photoshopped on it
Coupled with the photo of Highgrove House with a “SOLD” sign photoshopped over it, it looks like they are shaking on the sale, hence adding credence to the article claiming Zelenskyy did buy the property. However, a basic google search reveals the photo is from Zelenskyy’s visit to Buckingham Palace back in February 2023:
A screenshot of Zelenskyy and Charles meeting at Buckingham Palace back in February 2023
Another feature of fake news visible here is grammatical inaccuracies and errors. For example, Zelenskyy’s name is sometimes spelled “Zelenskyy” but sometimes “Zelensky” and “Highgrove House” is inconsistently capitalised. Also, the third paragraph has oddly-placed underscores present – “What is _at first glance surprising_ is that…” Whilst human error occurs, legitimate publications tend to be edited and proofread to a higher standard, eliminating most typos.
Examples of typos and inconsistencies in the article
We also see indifference to logical reasoning – the claim “Zelenskyy is the New Owner of Highgrove House” is despite the fact “…there is no official statement from Buckingham Palace on the Highgrove house sale…” Everything is alleged or put together without official facts/statements and the article is written in a way that essentially highlights how absurd it is, but places culpability on Ukraine. Consider: “It remains unclear why the President of Ukraine decided to purchase the royal residence and how he managed to persuade the King to sell it…The source of funds for this purchase also remains unknown.” Posing as impartial and without directly slandering Zelenskyy, the article puts doubt into readers’ minds about his behaviour, especially when the next line quotes the “almost £12 billion” Britain has pledged to Ukraine – indirectly suggesting some improper use of funds for Zelenskyy’s own gain somehow. Indeed, one-sided polarising argumentation is another key feature of fake news and, if this publication is Russian-created, the desire to portray the Ukrainian president this way is unsurprising, given the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Thus we can conclude that, given the lack of evidence, the dubious grammar and the shock factor of the Ukrainian president making such a lavish purchase (making readers pay attention), this is a false narrative designed to demonise Zelenskyy and promote the Kremlin agenda via fake news.

This has been kicking around in my drafts for awhile. I didn't really know what to make of it then, and I don't now, but I want to start cleaning some stuff up, so here it is:
Remember a snippet of a weird dream, which is already odd, because I usually forget my dreams immediately upon waking up.
The setup doesn't matter too much, but I know my brother (younger than he is now, for some reason) was being an asshole to a Gligar he caught in one of his games, and I decided I was stealing it. Proceeded to steal it and then... I guess trade it to myself, but it was framed as being an outdated Pokemon Transfer thing, albeit in its own building, kind of like the old GTS buildings. I traded it to myself and was poking around for some reason, going in doors that were there, until muttering out loud that I should stop and "go home".
At that point, a scene triggered as I tried to go through a different door that, for some reason, caused 3 characters to run out of the door-- clearly in conflict with each other-- and then hurry back through the door, which couldn't be opened after the fact. Each of these characters had Ingo's sprite, but in dream, I could tell that at least 2 were more worn than his actual BW sprite. I can't remember a lick of what was said, and I actually remember that in the 'moment' in my dream, I wasn't able to understand/remember what was being said, only that there was some kind of conflict ongoing. That was weird, because there were definitely text boxes involved, since I distinctly remember seeing a character tag to denote that someone was talking: the mispelled "Ingou".
For some reason, the dream switched to a more first person perspective in that universe, in the supposed PokeTransfer building. There was someone else with me then, trying to recreate what happened, and I kept opening doors and muttering that I had to go home, then. There were phones next to each of the doors, which I don't think was relevant, but I noticed at the time. Eventually, I got something to happen again, but it was just someone talking, and I knew it was the same character. It was some kind of warning/recounting of something that happened before, implied to be an attack from Pokemon against humans, at least some of them children, which was fatal. This wasn't directed at me, by the way-- it was like it was being said to someone else nearby. The person specifically highlighted Alakazam, Magnemite and Magneton, but in plural, implying that multiple members of each species had something to do with it. The only other thing I could make out for sure (because this was a lot clearer, but still hard to understand) was something about a Holiday Island, and then somehow my brain emphasizing that the spelling on "Ingou" was wrong for a second time, even though there was no text box that time.
The person I was with saw that, and after we were done there, we went to look for any clue on what was clearly Bulbapedia, but was never identified as such. I don't know what article we landed on, but we found a reference to "Ingou" leading to an article on Holiday Island. I should note that, as I mentioned, the game Gligar was in, and the version of Poke Transfer were both outdated. They should have been even older based on this being a physical location and the sprite art, but my dream told me they were about Ultra Moon era, and the unknown article cited that this event had been accessible since about 2018/2019. In the "real world" after all of that, I was holding a case that was like... it had the vibes of Ultra Moon but was more blue, if that makes any sense? I was sitting with a bunch of people, implying that I had been playing my game while hanging out there, and found a leaflet in the game case-- as used to be standard-- for a downloadable legendary Pokemon. My brother started walking in right after that, and I stopped reading so I could hide the game/the fact that I committed Bat Theft.
I don't have anything to add from there on; my dream changed right after that, and I can't remember what it turned into.
