#reblogged that post about pronouncing peoples' names correctly a little while ago#and just opened twitter and the first thing i see is a clip of some white republican congresswoman#insisting she's going to pronounce kamala harris's name however she wants#she's mispronouncing it and she knows it because the people she's talking to are correcting her#but her position is: i don't care i will say it however i want#she is trying to disrespect her and part of that is intentionally butchering her name#and the amount of people just like her that exist....#that walk around thinking they get to decide and names they can't pronounce deserve to be butchered#if they can't pronounce it it's the fault of the person for daring to have such a complicated name#idk what my point is here i just. these people exist. they say vile shit like this#the best way to combat them and the implied bigotry in what they're saying is to make an effort#because they refuse to#and they look dumber and dumber if everyone around them is willing to put in that extra care#delete later#neha rambles

pairing: anthony lockwood x sister!reader
summary: you get hurt on a date and your brother notices that he has grown apart from you
warnings: mentions of injury, one yr age gap relationship (18 + 17)
notes: lucy, lockwood and george are 20 in this. reader has an age gap of 3 years
growing up you found yourself always wandering in the shadows of your older brother, he was your hero, the ideal person in your eyes and you wanted to be everything he was.
although he was only three years older than you, he grew up a faster after your parents death. he did everything possible to give you the childhood that you deserved to have.
but due to that, your relationship was strained. he thought he was protecting you by keeping you out, but instead you felt like an intruder in your own home, which felt more like Anthony's home now, who had no time to play, or to spend time, always hiding in the library, keeping you away from the things he was dealing with.
you had always hoped to one day repair the relationship you two had lost over the years, but no matter what you tried, it didn't work. so one day you just gave up.
two years later
"Lucy, have you seen my green sweater?" you called up the stairs at your best friend. she didn't answer though, you sighed and walked down to the attic, to hopefully find it in the laundry room.
your brother was training downstairs, jumping around the room and swirling his rapier through the air. you tried to move out of the way as best as you could
anthony sighed and stopped the training procedure. "how many times have I told you, not to come down here, while I'm training?"
another one of the reasons that your relationship was so strained, was that he always expected the most from you, which got tiring after awhile, especially because he was your brother and not your father.
"sorry, anti" you turned your back while you rolled your eyes and walked to the drier "I just need my sweater"
"and how many times have I told you not to call me that"
anti had been his childhood nickname, before you could pronounce his name. you preferred to call him that to this day, because first, he hated it and secondly he really approached everything that concerned you with some anti-attitude, so you thought it fit.
"sorry, dad" you replied sarcastically "won't happen again"
"don't call me that either" he sighed "have you found your sweater?"
you turned to look at him and noticed that he was waiting for you to leave, so he could turn the simulation back on.
"nope, its probably in lucy's room. see you later, anti"
"stop calling--" before he could finish his sentence, you had already made your way back up the stairs and closed the door behind you "sorry" you said to yourself "I sadly can't hear you"
"what?" you turned around to look at george, who was sitting at the kitchen table, papers flooding over the whole table
"nothing" you shook your head "have you seen my sweater?"
"which one?" george asked annoyed
"the green one? the one theo found me pretty in, remember?" you smiled, thinking about the brown haired boy that was part of quill kipps' crew and would go on a date with you later today
"theo rowland?" george repeated "why does it matter what he thinks of you?"
"i'm going out with him today" you rolled your eyes at the boy "and i wanted to wear the sweater"
"i think it's in the bathroom" george shrugged, no longer interested in continuing the conversation. you quickly thanked him, before walking out of the room and getting the sweater, that really had been in the bathroom.
after you had gotten ready, you left the house, making your way to the spot you would meet theo at.
it was later that evening, exactly ten minutes after nine, that anthony lockwood would hear loud and hectic knocking on his door. he had been sitting in the library, reading when he finally decided to open the door, the loud noise getting annoying.
"what is it?" he asked, swinging open the door. he couldn't have guessed who had been waiting in front of it.
"rowland?" lockwood asked surpised "what the hell do you want?"
"lockwood!" theo breathed a sigh of relief "something happened" theo's eyes caught lucy's who was walking down the stairs "something with y/n"
"y/n?" lockwood repeated "y/n's upstairs, what could've possibly happened?" "she isn't" lucy shook her head "she was gone the whole afternoon"
"was she now?" lockwood wondered "listen, rowland, i really don't know what you have to do with my sister, but if you don't mind, i really would love to know where she is"
"the hospital"
"the hospital?" both lockwood and lucy screeched "why didn't you say something sooner?" lockwood eagerly grabbed his coat, before he was out the door and calling for a taxi, lucy close behind him
"what the hell happened?" he turned around to look at Theo, pointing an accusing finger at the boys chest.
lucy was already climbing into the taxi. "come on, lockwood"
"if you did something to her--" he pushed theo back
"lockwood!" lucy called again
lockwood took a look in lucy's direction, deciding that he really didn't have any time to discuss anything with theo, before he looked him up and down again "i will find out if you did and now get lost!" he climbed into the taxi, that drove off after he had closed the door.
"y/n!" the relief in lucy's voice calmed lockwood down a bit.
you opened your eyes slowly, letting them adjust to the light, when you looked around yourself. "hey"
"hey" lockwood said. he took a look at your arm that was in a cast
"what happened?" lucy pointed at your arm
you looked down "i fell, really hard. but theo brought me here quickly, they gave me something to sleep while they fixed it"
"good" lucy nodded, but sensed the outgoing tension from lockwood
"where have you been? why did you leave the house in the first place?"
"i will get a nurse and tell her you've woken up" lucy excused herself from the room, leaving you and lockwood to talk.
"i was on a date" you answered his question hesitantly
"what?" anthony asked loudly "with theo rowland?" he connected the dots in his head
you nodded.
he laughed bitterly, shaking his head, walking around the room. "no you're way too young for dating and theo rowland as well! this is illegal!"
"what are you even talking about?" you asked "theo is not too old for me"
"did he touch you or anything?" lockwood sat down next to you "i can call barnes"
"what? no!" you got angrier at him "he's a good guy"
"yeah" lockwood rolled his eyes "a good guy dating a fifteen year old"
you looked at him stunned. "i'm seventeen"
"huh?"
"i'm seventeen" you repeated louder "and theo is eigtheen, so everything is fine. and if i want him to touch me, i will let him. he's very respectful"
"you're not seventeen" lockwood shook his head in denial
"yes i am" you said, but softer "what year is it, anthony?"
lockwood clasped a hand over his forehead "shit" he mumbled "you're right"
"it's alright" you shrugged your shoulders
"no it's not and i'm sorry" he admitted "i've been a pretty shitty brother these past few years, i should've kept you closer and not try to shut you out."
"don't say that" you exclaimed "of course i wanted to be closer to you, but i know that you did a lot of that so that i would have a happy childhood. you didn't mean to be cruel"
"i didn't" he nodded
"it's not too late"
"yeah" he smiled. "how about when you get discharged we go out for some donuts at arif's? you can bring theo. i scared him pretty badly, but he told me you were here in the first place, so he deserves an apology" "that sounds good" you smiled
"i love you"
"i love you too, anti"
"just today, i won't say anything to that stupid nickname, but only because you're in the hospital"
"okay" you laughed

Sasusaku: Selfish
Note: I have a soft spot for Sasusaku blank period, and last night my brain decided to award me with an angsty Sasusaku dream at 4pm. I ain't good at writing but I just can't let that dream go, it was beautiful 😭 hope you will enjoy, excuse my grammar please don't sue
Sasuke stands still, eyes staring at the pink-haired girl, lying weak on the bed. Her face is filled with bruises and bandages wrapped around her arms. His loose hands becomes a tight grip as he recall yesterday's incident. Seeing Sakura unconcious, in her most awful state on the ground destroyed him. It was because of him, and he was too late to save her.
"I'm sorry, Sakura" his words come out as a soft whisper, even he could hardly hear them. Sasuke turns around after hearing a click at the door.
"You're leaving already?" Naruto lifts his eyebrows, scaning his bestfriend from head to toe. He's wearing his usual black cloak, ninja equipments are safe inside the small bag tied around his thigh and a black bag he carries behind him. Seeing Sasuke turns around to look at Sakura one last time before walking towards the ward room door, Naruto knows he doesn't need an answer.
"Hey, look. Sakura-chan isn't awake yet. Maybe you should wait until-"
"I have to go, Naruto" he says before feeling a hand on his shoulder stopping him from behind.
"Sasuke, its not your fault."
Silence.
Naruto doesn't need to hear anything from Sasuke, he knows him well enough, a guy who talks as less as he can, hiding all of his pain alone behind those lonely eyes.
"Naruto" Sasuke says while turning his head to look at his childhood rival.
"Convince her to accept the proposal. Tell her to stop waiting for me. I don't know when I'll be back"
"Wha- the hell, Sasuke? You know she loves you too much she would wait forever for you!"
"She can't possibly wait forever, can she?" He says with a smirk before feeling a dull pain on his left cheek. Eyes wide, Sasuke stares at the guy infront of him.
"Snap out of it, will ya?! No one loves you more than her and you know that. You just don't want to admit it. You think I didn't notice how you look at her everytime we hang out when you get back?" Sasuke just replied with a short "Tch"
"Now I dare you stare at me in the eyes and tell me you don't feel the same way. I dare you watch her accept that proposal and marry another guy. I dare you, Sasuke!" Naruto's eyes reflect his feelings perfectly, anger. Sasuke sighs, trying to get all of his strength to stand back up and replies very calmly.
"Enough is enough, Naruto. Don't you think Sakura already suffered too much?"
"She won't be happy with me. She deserves someone so much better than me. Someone who will love her" he pauses
"More than I ever will" its a soft mumble but Naruto can still hear every word.
"She was kidnapped because of me, Naruto. Tortured because of me. This isn't even the first time. People put her through these because of me. Now don't tell me she hadn't had enough"
This time it is Naruto who keeps his mouth shut.
"I have many enemies. I just- don't want her to suffer because my past"
-----
Sakura is panting. She can hardly feel her legs. But there is something more important to settle right here, right now. And there he is, the love of her life standing still infront of her. She sees his eyes widened, and stays like that for a brief second, before turning into his usual cold eyes, staring at her.
"Sasuke-kun.." she walks slowly towards him. Her injury from the incident two days ago doesn't make it any better, but she doesn't care. All she wants to do right now is to hold the man she loves most, and settle this once and for all.
She knows what she had was mutual, she can feel the bond between Sasuke and her closer than ever now. The way he talks changes after his journey of redemption. The soft touch on her forehead he gives everytime before starting his trip. His small gestures of walking her home everytime the team hangs out, the subtle moments of him trying to brush away her patients when they started asking her personal questions. Sasuke was never the type to convey his feelings through words, she knows this much by now.
"I love you" she whispers briefly, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. She stays for a while and continues.
"No matter how long it takes.. I will wait for you" Sasuke is still in shock, the familiar smell Sakura had since they were genin wrapped around him as tight as those small but strong arms. He takes a moment to close his eyes, feeling his fast beating heart. Slowly, he took his hand moving it to her shoulder.
"Sakura"
"Go home" he says breaking the warm hug before staring at the girl infront of him, inches apart.
"Sasuke-kun.. I really want you to know that I-"
"Go home, Sakura" as cold as ice, Sasuke stares deep into her green eyes, he can see tears falling down her cheeks. She slowly pushes herself away, looking down, trying hard to distance herself from him before turning away. She gives him one last look, hoping he would say one word, just one word, 'Stay'. Sakura starts to run as fast as she could when that man doesn't respond as she hoped.
Sasuke stares at her shadow, gritting his teeth to ease a pain he is so used to by now, a sharp prick in his chest. The pain is proof and he knows what it meant. He knows.. he cares.
A lot.
---
A year passes by and Sasuke is now in Konoha after being summoned by the Hokage, Kakashi because of some trouble in the village. He has been staying for a week, and everything is the same as it always has except..
He hasn't seen Sakura. He isn't sure if she's just busy at the hospital performing some surgery he can't even pronounce or she is successfully trying hard to avoid him.
Thanks to Naruto, he got news less than a year ago that Sakura declined the marriage proposal, and is currently working hard to open her own Children Clinic.
He can still remember seeing her running around the hospital hallway in emergencies, wearing her white coat, watching her hands glowing with chakra. Her forehead would be filled with beads of sweat, worried expression never leave her face, not until she can save a patient. That face would immediately change bright and cheerful once that small machine beside her patient starts to beep again.
Sakura loves what she does so much, he thinks to himself with a smile. As much as he tries to deny it, Sasuke knows how much that woman changed ever since he left for his revenge. She became so strong, so matured and very determined especially when it comes to things she loves. Anyone who is sane enough would want to make her a life partner, he smirks as he remembers Sakura's marriage proposal the villagers were so hyped up about a year ago.
'Ring' his thought is distracted by the doorbell sound. It takes Sasuke seconds to open his door and the figure infront of him brings some weird feeling in his stomach.
"Sakura"
"I.. um.." he watches her stutter before she looks at him in the eyes, and Sasuke swears he can see flame in them.
"I was passing by his office and Kakashi-sensei asked me to give these to you" Sasuke takes the scrolls from her hands and replies with a short "Aaa"
"Then. I'm going. Good day" she says with a formal bow and turns around
"Sakura" he sees her jolt at her name being called. Sasuke pauses and thinks of the things he always wanted to say to her, ever since that day when he sees her tears for the first fime after years. He opens his mouth slightly but changes his mind.
"Thank you" he says.
Sakura replies with a simple nod and walks away. Sasuke can't help but stare at her figure from behind until she can no longer reach his sight. He looks at the scrolls in his hand and sigh.
"I'm sorry, Sakura. Its better this way" he whispers to himself.
---
"Take care, idiot. Sorry I can't see you off tomorrow" Naruto says with a soft punch on his shoulder.
"Nah, its fine. Thanks" he replies short. Naruto is about to walk home when Sasuke calls him again before saying.
"Take care of Sakura"
He sees Naruto pause and scoff before turning away and wave his hand. Sasuke stares at the sky, wondering if she will come to see him off like she always do tomorrow. Thinking whether she will ask him if she can come along, as she does everytime he wants to start his journey again.
Probably not, he thinks. It is never the same anymore now. Whenever Team 7 hangs out, Sakura will either be joining them late, or excuse herself very early giving ward rounds in the morning as an excuse. It is never her fault though. It is his. It has always been his.
Sasuke is about to close the door to his apartment when he sees a familiar girl walking silently towards his direction. There's that weird feeling in his abdomen again, he isn't comfortable but he doesn't hate it.
"Sasuke-kun" she says upon reaching infront of him.
A long pause.
"I- I just want to say goodbye. And goodluck on your travel tomorrow" she smiles to him brightly, but he can see pain in her eyes. He replies with a short thank you and expects to see her turning away to walk home. But she just stays there silently, its as if she is trying to battle her own thoughts. Sasuke is about to ask when he feels a pair of warm lips on his. His eyes widen as he feel her hands gripping his shirt, and later after a short second, she lets go.
"What happened a year ago.. I-it was never your fault, Sasuke-kun. I know you have been blaming yourself this whole time. So please, just stop it.."
"Enough is enough.." she said slow. He can't stop wondering if she heard him talk with Naruto that day.
"I can't keep doing this, Sasuke-kun. I love you so much. Please, just.. if there's a little space for me in your heart.. even if its just a little.. I beg you, stop blaming yourself" Sakura starts to cry, softly. Those tears had always been his weakness. No matter how much he tries to ignore that one fact, he knows he can't anymore. And right now, he knows more than anyone, that he can't deny this, whatever it is that he has towards her, that has been haunting him for as long as he can remember.
"Damn it, Sakura.. you annoy me to this point" he says facing down. After a brief second, he pulls her into his arm, and presses his lips against hers. Sakura is shocked but it doesn't take long for her to lean in and dippen the kiss. Before she can put her arms around his neck, Sasuke pulled away.
His dark orbs stares at her, his eyes full of longing. There is confusion in hers though, but another thing they both have in common, is wanting more. He gently grabs her hand as a sign to invite her into his apartment and she replies with a warm smile and a pink flush on her cheek.
---
Sasuke stares at her back while she puts her headband on her pink locks. The silence is for a while now but it is not uncomfortable. He sees her looking at the floor for a long while before starting to talk.
"I- I'm sorry.. if I suddenly came over last night" he is about to reply but she continues while turning around to face him.
"I know you.. said no to me so many times.. and.."
"A girl shouldn't be like this, right..?" She chuckles softly but tears starting to form in her green eyes. It takes her only a few seconds to sob and cry like a baby.
"Why can't I just forget you and move on?" Her cries starting to sound like a whisper. Sasuke looks at her wiping her tears off her face but later forming more tears. He was never a sweet-gestured guy, romance is one of the many things he didn't want to get involved with. He never knows how to calm a crying woman, so he just look and starts to reply.
"I wanted you to be happy, Sakura"
"I wasnt sure you'd be happy with me"
"You deserve someone better than me, I hurt you too many times"
"I was ready to let you go"
He says softly while looking at her starting to calm down.
"But a part of me.. wanted to be selfish. And make you mine"
He continues, their eyes still staring at each other. Sakura sees it in his eyes, his eyes speak better than his words. But now that he made it clear, she is more sure. Her orbs become more gentle and she smiles to him ever so brightly.
"Be selfish, Sasuke-kun" She says stroking his cheek softly. Resting her forehead on his, Sakura softly carress his lips with her thumb.
"That way I can be selfish too"

Use Your Brain, part 7
This chapter is a bit choppy but I love it!
Serious question, tho: How do you pronounce Mari?
I grew up with someone named Mari and I never thought twice about how other people pronounce it. I say/read it like Mars, the planet. I don't think I could ever call her Mary.
Thank you for reading ❤️
-----
When both Adrien and Marinette made it back to their respective hotel rooms he shared the contact information he had gotten from Red Robin. He debated on telling her what they talked about after that.
Ladybug had once admitted to Chat Noir that she would steal small items from the boy she was in love with. He had also caught Marinette with some of Luka's missing bracelets.
Ladybug had gushed to Chat Noir about the small gifts she gave her crushes. Adrien remembered the scarf and several other items Marinette had given him. He felt foolish that he had not connected the dots before. All the little things.
He hoped Marinette could be as happy as he and Kagami are. After all, she deserves so much with all that she gives to others.
Maybe tomorrow.
-
Tim had tried to tell Damian what he had learned from Chat Noir. If it had to do with Marinette he would not listen. He really should've.
"Watcha doing, Demon Spawn?" Jason had walked by Damian's room only to see him empty his schoolbag on the bed. He was obviously looking for something.
"Nothing."
Jason watched for a second before he walked away, yelling "Hey Dick, Damian lost something at school!"
"What? That's great!"
"Tim! Damian lost something!"
Eventually the entire house knew he had misplaced something and he couldn't believe they would give him hell for it. Well, maybe he could. But Father was pleased for some reason. He said something under his breath like "that's my son".
-
Marinette lay facedown on her bed. She had Damian's phone number, should she use it? What would she say?
Nothing. Marinette had already decided not to contact him as soon as Adrien gave it to her.
She was physically attracted to Damian but she doesn't actually know him. All she knows is that he is pushy, stubborn, and moonlights as a vigilante.
She finally had a chance to talk to Tikki when Alix went to shower. "Tikkkiii. Why do I want to talk to him?" Her voice was muffled by her pillow.
"Because you like him! I think he could be good for you. He'll help you set healthy boundaries with your peers."
"I don't know anything about him. I can't like him if I don't know him!" She sat up, crossed her legs and threw her hands in the air.
"Which is why you should message him and get to know him!" Not for the last time Marinette wondered how the god of creation could be so optimistic.
"But he hates me. All he ever did was snap at me and tell me what I was doing wrong! Guys like that are controlling and he would never respect me being a leader. He'd probably argue with me over every decision."
"You don't know that Marinette. Stop being so harsh to someone you've just met. You're a good Ladybug because you give people the chance to be themselves and try to find the best in everyone."
Marinette faceplanted into her pillow again and groaned.
"I know he's different from everyone you've ever had a crush on. You idolized Adrien, Luka was too easy-going, and-"
"We don't talk about that! I get it!" Marinette rolled over and pulled out the pen she'd been hiding in her purse. The D.W. sparkled under her the bedside lamp.
-
The next day, when the class visited the Botanical Gardens, Jason was the one to keep an eye on them. People gave him shit about his helmet but it was better than getting found out by a teenager.
He opted to sit and read rather the float around. It paid off in the end. His bench was close enough to hear the two heroes talk as they waited for their friends to enter the butterfly exhibit.
"Are you going to give it back to him?"
"I think so. If I can do it without getting caught."
"How'd you get it in the first place?"
"Uh, well, um. When he cornered me in the hallway and started telling me how irresponsible I was, he was towering over me-"
"Oh no!" Adrien interrupted with a laugh. "Two major offenses before he even knew your name!"
"So I, ya know..." She mumbled something incoherent.
"What was that, Bug?"
She gave a a heavy sigh. "I grabbed his shirt collar and yanked him down to my level. When I was done telling him off I smoothed out his shirt and, well, took the pen from his shirt pocket."
Marinette stood with her face half buried in her jacket collar and her ears were red.
"I don't even know why I did it. Why I ever do it." She sounded so embarrassed.
Adrien was about to say something but stopped when their friends approached.
"Mari, your face is so red! What happened, girl?" A girl with auburn curly hair slung her arm around Marinette's shoulders.
Adrien took mercy on her. "She just flirted with some guy at the academy, in the most Marinette way possible."
"Lucky guy! What was it this time, dudette?" The boy with a baseball cap asked.
"It's just a pen! He probably won't even notice it's gone!" With that she stormed off into the exhibit.
"Do you think she'll ever see him again?" Baseball hat asked.
Adrien shrugged "I really hope so. I want her to be happy."
After they walked away Jason let out the breath he'd been holding from trying not to laugh. Of course Damian would notice, he takes great care with all of his possessions.
-
Bruce should not have been surprised. He caught Dick and Tim loitering in the atrium of Wayne Enterprises. He was just thankful that Jason didn't appear to be there.
Tim was too exhausted to do more than watch the entrance and drink his coffee. Dick, however, caught him stalling at the elevator as he pretended to read the newspaper. He dragged Tim over with him.
"Long time no see, Bruce. I thought you finished reading the newspaper over breakfast."
Tim saved him from having to answer. "Incoming."
All three watched as the French class gathered in the atrium and received their visitors passes.
-
Marinette could feel someone watching her.
She slowly turned to see three older men watching her class. If she hadn't recognized Bruce Wayne she might've been concerned.
One, to her surprise, waved and smiled when he noticed her watching them. The one that had his hands full of files and a coffee mug tried to slap his hand down. Bruce Wayne looked sheepish. Why was that?
-
"Which one is she?" Dick asked excitedly.
"The one with watching us suspiciously. Marinette Dupain-Cheng, age 17, class president and author of the essay that won the trip." Dick had the good grace to smile and wave.
They were aware of their mistake when her face changed from suspicion to confusion to recognition. She narrowed her eyes at them and elbowed the blonde boy next to her. He only smiled and gave them a wink as their class entered the elevator.
It was like secret identities were no longer a thing. If she could recognize the three of them so easily maybe it was believable that Damian recognized her laugh. Maybe they could introduce her to Clark, just to prove a point.

Soul ties - Part 10 (Bucky Barnes au)
“And when I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone's bed,
You put me on and said I was your favourite”
Word count : 1712
Going back to everyone wasn't even as awkward as you'd predicted ; what had just happened with Bucky was pretty obvious. Yet, all the guests decided to cheer you up and spend their night telling you jokes or just talking to you about random memories. When you went back to your room for good, you made sure Bucky walked you there : you were silently thanking Steve for giving you a room this far away from the others, since it gave you the opportunity to speak freely.
"So, about earlier," you started, "I think..."
"Hum, yeah. I get it must be complicated for you." He scratched the back of his head as you stopped in front of your bedroom door.
"It's not, actually." You looked him in the eyes. "I know exactly what I want."
Something gleamed in his eyes – a hint of hope, maybe.
"You do?" he asked. "I don't want you to be in this situation, so..."
"I swear," — you gently grabbed the front of his shirt – "I promise I know you're who I want." You lowered your gaze. "I'd be a fool to pretend otherwise."
Bucky tilted his head down to see you better, breathing on the tip of your nose. "This makes me...really happy." He kissed your nose, making you feel an instant warmth in your chest. "Now go get some rest. You've had an eventful night."
"You're right." You let go of him to grab the doorknob and turned around. "Wait, before I go..." You span and placed your hands on his shoulders to help you reach his height and planted a kiss on his lips again. "I really wanted to do this again."
You chuckled and left him at the door, quickly closing it behind you so that he wouldn't see you smiling like a teenager. Changing into your pyjamas, you were still unable to think about anything else than the first kiss you'd shared and the emotion it'd gifted you with. You chose not to go to sleep right away : you knew a knock on your door would come. Around twenty minutes afterwards, you were ready to open the door to your sister right after hearing her.
"So, that happened," she said when she sat on your bed. "How are you feeling?"
"Don't you already know that?" you teased. "I thought you were supposed to be a mind-reading enchantress or something. Your skills are getting rusty, sis."
Wanda couldn't help but laugh before asking her question again. "Seriously, I want to hear it from you, not from your thought process. It's too much of a mess anyway."
You rolled your eyes at the skies before sitting next to her. "It was... I don't know how to describe it." You shrugged. "It felt right."
"And what are you going to do about Darren? I heard you saying you were over, but are you actually doing it?"
You stopped to think for a moment. What would divorcing Darren concretely mean? You'd have to go through a divorce procedure, and you didn't know how those were supposed to go. Maybe you could ask Tony if he knew any good lawyers who might you out. But there was another thing you'd need to do.
"I'll go get my stuff tomorrow. I'm thinking of asking Tony if I can stay here...permanently."
You wrapped your hands around your legs and rested your chin on your knees.
"I'll go with you. I don't trust him."
"Thanks, Wanda."
Your sister hugged you tight before lying down next to you.
"I'm here for you. We're family," she noted. "Now get some sleep ; you need it."
You lay next to her and as it turned out, you fell asleep pretty fast. Maybe soulmates had that effect on people.
---
"He's not even here," you remarked. "Even after our fight last night, he doesn't bother showing up at his own apartment."
Darren's behaviour was already heating up your anger, and you were once again patting yourself on the shoulder for refusing both Steve and Sam's help that day. They would not have handled this by calming you down. Maybe Steve would've tried, but well, even he had his limits. Messing with his family was one of them.
Your sister followed you to your bedroom, where you dragged a suitcase from under your bed. When you opened it, Wanda's eyes lingered for a second : it wasn't empty.
"Were you packing for a trip?" she asked.
You looked away and shrugged. "I don't know if I was planning for a honeymoon or a bad fight," you admitted. "Turns out it's the latter." You kept running around the place, packing everything from your most random flannel shirt to your favourite coffee mug.
"I think I'm ready to go," you ended up saying as you closed your suitcase. "I'm- wait. Did you hear the door too?"
"Y/n?"
"Fuck." You looked at Wanda, who'd recognised Darren's voice as well. You walked out of the bedroom, your suitcase rolling behind you. Your husband's eyes fell on your luggage before going back to you. You tried searching for any trace of sadness on his face ; all you found was anger and disappointment.
"Where do you think you're going?" he asked. "And what is she doing here?"
"Wanda's here because she wanted to help me get as far away from you as possible," you replied. "My whereabouts are none of your business anymore."
"You can't just leave like that. You're still my wife, as far as I know."
"Not for long."
Darren's face got bright red as he went in the kitchen. You knew he was about to start yelling, so you went for the door. His arm stopped you ; you hadn't seen him turn around. He grabbed your wrist, causing you to let out a faint scream. Wanda didn't need any more excuses to use her abilities. She pinned him against the wall with a slight gesture of her hand.
"Don't you touch her again," she breathed. "You don't want me to use my full strength."
You could see Darren's nostrils flaring with anger and his fist clenching. You hated seeing him like this : some part of you still remembered the guy you'd fallen for several years earlier and you wished you could've made him stay like that.
"Don't blame yourself for his behaviour, y/n," Wanda told you, not looking away from Darren. "Trust me, this man can't be changed. He'll always be a douchebag."
Your sister let go of him and opened the apartment's door for you. You were finally stepping out of that place, walking away from Darren.
"So what?" you heard him yell. "You're just gonna go back to that weird staring guy?"
You turned around and stared at him. You were done looking down and letting him hurt you. "Stop."
"What is it, huh?" – He walked closer to you and you gestured towards Wanda to let her know you were okay. "Is he better in better in bed than I am? Because I highly doubt that any man could make a good one out of you."
"Wow, you got to this level of insults. I shouldn't be surprised, coming from you." You paused, unsure of what his reaction would be to your next words. "I'll have divorce papers sent to you."
His jaw dropped, your words leaving him speechless. HIs insults still left a bitter taste in your mouth as you did your best to hide your pain. You didn't think such a long relationship could end like this, in a heartbeat, in the drop of a coffee cup.
Going back to the compound seemed to take less time than it took going to Darren's place. You were looking out of the window in silence, even though you knew your sister was holding back her remarks about Darren : you didn't need mind-reading powers to know that.
"Go ahead. Tell me I should've seen it coming."
"I'm not going to tell you that. Believe it or not, I wish I'd been wrong about him."
You gave Wanda a side glance : her grip on the stirring wheel was stern but her eyes were filled with sympathy.
"But I should've seen it coming. Damn, I despised his friends the moment I met them and he's just like them."
Wanda chuckled, which seemed inappropriate at first. "You didn't see that coming."
These words forced a smile out of you. "He would kick his ass, wouldn't he?"
"Absolutely. And he wouldn't be gentle about it."
You fiddled with your fingers. "Moments like these... I miss him the most."
"I know." Your sister's hand grabbed yours for a second before going back to the wheel. Her voice had gotten a little shaky from the emotion. "I also know he would've liked Bucky for you."
"Maybe. I shouldn't rush into this, though."
"Wait, what?" Wanda was confused, it seemed. How could she not be?
"Wanda, I just got out of a long relationship. I'm not even divorced yet. Bucky deserves better than this mess of a situation."
"Oh c'mon, he won't care about that. Have you seen how the man looks at you?"
A grin made its way to your lips as you remembered the numerous occasions Bucky had laid his blue eyes on you, and yesterday, on your lips.
"I feel like I can't do this to him, you know? There are so many things I like about him, from the way he bothers pronouncing my name correctly, not the bland American way, to the habit he has of scratching his neck... You know, dumb stuff. But what do I have to offer him? I'm not..."
"Stop. That's Darren speaking, not you," your sister softly reprimanded you. "You're worth so much more than you think you are. I also know that the guy who's going to rush to you to make sure you're okay is falling in love with you, if he hasn't already. His mind is almost as big a mess as yours."
"Wow, that's a first," you joked, the mention of love making you anxious. "The mess thing, I mean."
"Yeah, sure," — she snickered – "the mess thing."
--- They're getting serious, guys! I hope this part was good and that you liked it. Part 11 will come soon. :)

Since the first didn't get through, I'll try from my PC this time. Again, thank you for co-hosting this event. Can I get a Scenario with Issho and his s/o enjoying the christmas-decoration in a port and she just can't stop describing everything to him (how beautiful everything is under the soft snow and with the lights) because he can't see it and she wants him to enjoy it as well?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!! 😱 I honestly fell in love with the wholesome emotions of this request! 🙈 I'm happy to write about Fujitora, because that blind man deserves so much happiness 🥺 I hope this little scenario will suit you! ☺️
Winter Event #2
Words: 1444
Informations: fluff - gender neutral s/o
In your Eyes
The meeting couldn’t have been better, the harbor quite well decorated at this time of the year, the air filled with numerous scents you’re honestly unable to count. Rare are the occasions when you are able to enjoy a bit of Issho’s time, your man busy of course, and always wandering here and there between Grand Line and the New World to fulfill his duty. You know how it’s important for him, somehow to find his own place in the Navy, despite his apparent strength and his obvious intelligence skills to command the soldiers of the Government. It’s never easy to reach such a high post without having to deal with some inner trust issues from time to time, especially in such a chotic world, always in motion. Both of you believe in the mission of Issho, but as you gave him this invitation, you truly expected he would actually put aside his duty for once and clear his schedule, to finally enjoy a bit of well-deserved rest. Being under the command of Sakazuki is definitely not the easiest job in the world.
Breathing some warm air in your cupped hands, you eventually hear a rather explicit hubbub among the crowd, the tall figure of Issho appearing in the middle of the couples, the children, and the busy merchants. Of course, they are all surprised to see such a high commander of the Navy wandering in the streets of their cozy harbor. A smile curls the corner of your lips as you immediately jump back on your feet, crossing the distance to meet him half way. As always, you make sure not to enter his personal space too quickly, his perception of the world honestly different from yours, since you have eyes to see, and his only has other senses to know you’re around.
“I’m here, Issho.” You murmur with an audible voice, even if you know you really don’t have to yell that much, despite the general noisy atmosphere. It has always been your way to greet him.
He offers you a content smile, always discreet, his hand gripping his baton to keep his balance, as he eventually comes closer, his other fingers cupping your shoulder. Intimate gestures aren’t a thing he particularly display in public, but the very fact he’s here, with you, is enough to make him feel at ease. He raises his chin up, intrigued with the sound of flapping wings above his head, as you definitely notice the frown on his features.
“Seagulls are probably looking for some food at that time of the day, and they are brave enough to fight the cold.” You state with a cheerful voice, placing yourself at his side, before you wrap your arm around his. You won’t necessarily guide him, he doesn’t need it, yet you also know that he appreciates when you take the time the describe the way you see the world when you’re both walking side by side. “It’s busy today. I think we’ll have plenty to do.”
He nods, his quiet attitude always pleasant and contrasting in the middle of such a busy crowd, people thrilled and talkative, eager to discover all the new shops on the streets and the various activities offered by the harbor. Issho begins to walk, as you cautiously lead him to whatever destination who would both pick.
“I smell… Sweets.” Issho comments after a moment, stopping in front of a wooden stall. “Can you tell me what they are selling here? I know this isn’t reasonable, but perhaps there’s something we both would like to buy”.
“Aye!” You happily smile, and pulls on his arm to bring him closer, kind people immediately stepping aside, quite surprised to see a navy admiral around, making him some room as a sign of respect. “Well… Apparently, they have ginger cookies here, fresh made waffles or crepes with brown sugar and different toppings such as melted chocolate, fruits, or marshmallows! You can also pick candies; they have candy canes, candy apples…”
Issho listens carefully, more amazed with the sound of your voice, almost chirping, than the quantity of sweets displayed on the market place. He doesn’t necessarily wish to eat something, but he loves the way you sell those products with the most excited voice, as a child would describe a firework.
“Would you like a free sample, admiral?” The shop owner offers, and immediately begins to gather a few items from their stall, stuffing a paper bag with various candies to eat on their walk, quite content to see such an important man stopping in front of his shop.
Issho eventually accepts, bowing slightly to thank the man, as they both decide to keep going, the line behind them full of children, all so eager to use their berries to buy a few candies while their parents wouldn’t be too careful regarding the amount of sugar they are ingesting. You eventually leads him back in the middle of the alley, as you notice how intrigued he seems to be. You find it somehow adorable, Issho always amazed by the world surrounding him, and finding beauty in the little details someone wouldn’t even see.
“The street…” You begin to talk, because you wish to tell him everything, and share your eyes, even if it only comes with your words. “The whole harbor is decorated with shiny tinsels; they are all rolled around the light posts, falling like stalactites. It looks like ice stars falling in long drops, reflecting on the buildings behind them, giving the area such a heavenly look that it seems to be a dream.” You pause for a second, before you eventually look elsewhere. “All the ships anchored here have candles on the rail surrounding their decks, with mistletoe and holly attached to their windows, and most of the captains have opened their gates, offering tours to children if they ever wish to see how it looks inside a navy ship.”
Issho nods, silent, as usual, but listening careful to your words.
“There are so many stalls in front of the ships and the usual shops that I can’t even count them. All of them are so beautifully decorated, with angels and other items such as snowballs, starts and little imps, homemade crowns with pine branches, pinecones, and ribbons. Some of them are golden, silver, or red…” You can’t help but think that it’s quite a marvelous show, and it’s a shame Issho can’t properly enjoy all the lights of this beautiful place. “I can’t even tell you all the things they are selling as well. Homemade wooden angels, surprise gifts boxes, crafted wooden toys and figurines, fortune cards, candies, foods, spicy hot wine, bottle of various alcohol and wines, gingerbreads, biscuits, cakes in so many shapes, candles, and bouquet of winter flowers…”
He smiles to the more than detailed description, and eventually turns around, his closed eyes almost looking at your features, as you can’t help but feel slightly embarrassed. You really sounded like a child for a few seconds, didn’t you.
“And you, Name,” he says with his usual quiet and appeasing voice. “What kind of gift would you like to have? It seems they have all worked hard to please their customers. I wish to find something which will always make you forever smile the way you’re smiling right now.”
“Honestly?” You immediately answer, the two of you standing in the middle of the street, Christmas Lights surrounding you like the softest wings. “I only need one thing, Issho.” You pause, your hand gently caressing the top of his forearm. “I only need to spend more Christmas like this, with you.”
You thought he would find it silly, perhaps even immature for someone so old and serious. Even though, Issho just kindly cups your cheek, his large thumb describing a small circle on your skin, as he offers you a discreet grin. You feel your heart pounding harder to this beautiful vision, his soft and intimate gesture so unexpected and yet so heartwarming.
“And I wish you keep describing the harbor during Christmas time.” He confirms, his own way to pronounce those words a timid person would have a hard time to express.
Smiling like two idiots, you eventually pull on his sleeve to drag him further in the middle of the Christmas Market, feeling on cloud nine, as you know that you found within Issho the anchor you needed. The two of you would forever remember that day, your completely intimate little bubble filled with many emotions, lucky, for sure, that you have been able to find each other in the middle of this raging storm and those desperate wars.

Mike Hanlon let out a sigh as he set the heavy crate he was carrying down on the ground, slowly standing back up and lifting his hand to wipe at the beads of sweat that had collected on his forehead from the afternoon work on the farm. He didn't pause for long, knowing that the sooner he got done the sooner he could go hang out with his friends.
But the moment he went to grab the crate he was instantly dropping it again, a voice behind him calling out, "Still always working I see."
The crate hit the ground with a loud bang, but Mike didn't even wince as he turned to the owner of the voice, his eyes widening at the sight of his best friend Y/N L/N who he hadn't seen since the previous summer.
"Y/N?" Mike whispered in disbelief. The girl shyly nodded and Mike couldn't stop himself from laughing out loud in excitement before he was running over to the girl, his arms wrapping around her as he spun her around.
Joyous laughter filled the air as the two best friends hugged and Mike was quick to put her down so that he could look at her face. He couldn't help but notice that she had changed in the past year, definitely having grown into her features more and looking as beautiful as ever.
"Look at you, all grown up," Mike teased as he pinched the girl's cheek. Y/N rolled her eyes at the boy and blushed slightly as she smacked his hands away. This only made Mike laugh before he quickly pulled her in for another hug.
Y/N and Mike had been best friends since they were in diapers, the two's families being very close. That meant both automatically had a best friend from day one and the two were so close that they were practically siblings. They were all the other had and for the past year Y/N had been at a private, all girls, boarding school, but she was finally back.
"I've missed you so much," Mike whispered as he hugged the girl tight, trying desperately to hold back the tears as he thought about everything that had happened in the past year— getting bullied by Bowers and his gang, having to deal with the stress of his family, and the events that had happened with It and his new group of friends that called themselves the Losers' Club.
"I've missed you too, Mikey," Y/N said with a smile. She then let out a small gasp before pulling away and gripping onto the boy's arm. "Guess what? You'll never have to be alone again because my parents have decided I don't have to go back to that shitty school again!"
"Woah, seriously?" Mike asked, his eyes widening with excitement. "Y/N, that's great!"
"I know! You don't know how awful it was, Mike. I can't wait to get to spend my time back here in Derry. It will be just like old times," Y/N said.
Mike's smile dropped slightly before he began to scratch the back of his neck. He gave the girl a nervous smile. "Actually, I-I met some people. . .um. . .made some new friends," Mike explained.
Y/N's face fell at that, "Oh."
"But don't worry! They will love you," Mike assured her.
Y/N gave him a confused look. "You want me to meet your friends?" she asked.
"Of course I do. You're my best friend, are you not? They deserve to get to meet the person whose kept my head on my body for this long," Mike joked as he nudged the girl.
Y/N smiled softly at that before nodding her head. "Yeah, okay. I would love to meet them," she said, Mike's smile widening at her answer before he was hugging her again.
Agreeing to meet Mike's friends had been Y/N's first mistake. It's not that she didn't love his friends because she did and the Losers had even been quick to accept her into their group.
Of course there was Mike who was her best friend and like her brother. Then there was Ben who was the sweetest human being she had ever met. There was Bill who was her second closest friend and who was the leader of the group.
Next was Beverly who was the first female friend that Y/N had ever had and who was practically her sister. Then there was Richie and Eddie who were like her brothers, the two being so protective of the girl and dragging her along to all sorts of things like the arcade and the carnival.
It was just one of the Losers that she seemed to have a problem with and who made it their personal job to make her life a living hell—Stanley Uris.
So it wasn't meeting Mike's friends that had been the mistake. It was meeting Stanley Uris that had been the mistake.
Y/N didn't know what it was, but the two never seemed to get along. In all honesty, Y/N had actually been star struck the moment she saw the boy, having never thought she had seen a boy as beautiful as the curly haired boy who she found out to be named Stanley Uris. But the moment he opened his mouth, a scowl appearing on his face as he complained to Mike about bringing Y/N along was the moment their feud had begun.
Not that Y/N didn't think Stan was attractive because she still thought he was probably the most gorgeous boy she had ever met, but his attitude towards her was enough to prevent her from having any sort of feelings towards him except for hatred.
Or at least that's what she thought it was. Because why would she have any sort of feelings towards the boy when he was so rude to her. It was impractical!
Y/N found herself arguing with Stan more than half of the time whenever the group hung out as a whole. One of them always seemed to find something to pick at the other for before their side comments became a full blown argument, both sides going red faced as they practically yelled at each other.
The Losers found it extremely annoying and would constantly tell the two to just kiss to ease the sexual tension that was obviously present, but that would only make the two even more red before they got into another argument about how they would never date someone like either of them.
One of the things that most annoyed Y/N was that Stan thought he was better than her and that everything he said was correct. Y/N couldn't even joke about something before Stan was saying something about how wrong she was and embarrassing her in front of the others.
For Stan, the thing that most annoyed him was the fact that Y/N refused to call him anything other than his full name. And the way she said it. Oh, the way she said it drove him crazy. "Stan-ley," she would say, making sure to pronounce each part of his name so that he was well aware she was calling him his full name. He never found something more annoying than when she did that.
Y/N knew this drove him crazy which is why she continued to call him that. Although a small part of her just loved the way his name sounded, but she would never ever admit that.
The feud between Y/N and Stan was one that went on for years, starting the year that Y/N came back from boarding school when they were thirteen and still continuing to present day when the two had finally reached the age of seventeen.
Y/N would be lying if she said she loved arguing with Stan. In fact, all she had ever wanted from the boy was to just be friends. After all, she had been in awe the first time she met him, so being his friend had always been a secret wish on her wish list that no one knew of. But she had promised herself that if Stan was to continue being rude and throwing hateful comments her way then she would return them.
She had tried the whole being nice to him thing, but that had only made him more flustered and the comments only more spiteful, so all Y/N could do was hope and wait until that one day when Stanley might change his attitude around.
She just had no idea when that day would come.
And on that cold winter's eve, Stan's attitude was the least of Y/N's worries. She was walking through the snow, tears streaming down her face as she hugged her Secret Santa for Beverly close to her body.
Her car was in the shop and her parents were at work so she had to walk through the snow. That had been a big mistake because she had been walking through town and towards Mike's farm house when she had the misfortune of running into Henry Bowers and his gang.
Bowers and Y/N had always had a weird relationship. Henry knew that Y/N was friends with Mike, so he automatically would give her the same treatment as he did the boy. But the thing about Y/N was that she didn't take any of the boy's shit and that only made him angrier. Usually Y/N was able to brush it off, but this evening had been different.
The words Henry had spat in her direction were enough to hit her and they hit her hard. Comments about how ugly she was, about how worthless and disgusting she was had hit her where it hurt. But the moment he had mentioned about one of her exes who had cheated on her after claiming she was 'just not pretty enough' and how he 'wasn't in love with her anymore' and 'could never love her' was when Y/N had broke. The tears that had filled her eyes were enough to make Henry laugh and him and his friends had had their fun by shoving the girl onto the ground and kicking her present away from her grasp.
Now there Y/N was, struggling to keep it together and holding on tightly to the gift that had been lucky enough not to break. It was only when she reached Mike's house that the tears had stopped and Y/N found herself standing outside for a moment just to catch her breath and make sure her face wasn't red from crying before she finally went up to the door and rang the doorbell.
The door opened almost instantly and Y/N was met with the face of a gorgeous red head, her smile almost so blinding that Y/N had to blink a few times. "Y/N!" Beverly cried out in joy as she leapt forward to hug the girl. "Thank goodness you are here! I can only handle the boys for so long you know and they were getting quite impatient."
"Sorry, Bev. I lost track of the time," Y/N told her, letting out a small laugh to cover up the pain she felt. She was going to be early actually, but the run in with Bowers had made her late.
"It's completely fine, Y/N," Beverly assured her as she pulled away to look at the girl's outfit. "I love your sweater! You'll have to tell me where you got it, but for now the boys are talking in the kitchen and I'm sure they'll want to see you."
Y/N nodded and quickly walked in before taking off her shoes and leaving them and her jacket by the door. She kept the present in her hands and dropped it off by the tree in Mike's living room before following Beverly into the kitchen where laughter could be heard.
The girl was instantly hit by the sweet sugary smell of cookies and Y/N couldn't help but smile once she saw the boys all standing around laughing with each other.
"Look who I found wandering outside in the cold," Beverly announced, her voice instantly making the boys all turn to look at the two girls.
"Y/N!" Mike exclaimed happily as he took big strides across the room to wrap his friend up in a hug. "Merry Christmas!"
"Merry Christmas, Mikey," Y/N greeted as she hugged him back. "Thanks for inviting us all over."
"Y/N," Bill greeted with a smile as he walked over with his arms out. Y/N smiled warmly at the boy and hugged him before saying, "Bill."
"Okay there, Bill. My turn!" Eddie exclaimed as he pulled the boy away and quickly wrapped the girl up in a hug. Y/N let out a small laugh and went to hug Eddie back, but she was already being pulled back into someone else's arms. The girl glanced up and chuckled once she saw the familiar Tozier smirk as the boy winked at Eddie and said, "Sorry, Eds, but Y/N loves me more."
"Asshole," Eddie huffed as he crossed his arms and walked off to go get a drink.
Richie glanced down at Y/N and smirked before saying, "Why hello there, pretty lady. And how are you on this wonderful evening?"
Y/N rolled her eyes and pulled away from the boy's hold before smiling at him. "I'm doing just fine, Richie. Thanks for asking," she replied. She then turned and smiled at Ben before engulfing the boy in a big hug. Ben was quick to hug her back and that was when Y/N's eyes locked with the last person in the room—Stanley.
The two stared blankly at each other and Y/N silently wondered what kind of attitude Stan was going to be in tonight. But once that all too familiar scowl had appeared on the boy's face as he rolled his eyes and looked away with a small scoff, that was when Y/N knew it wasn't going to be a very good night.
Which was great seeing as she was already having the worst night she'd had in a long time.
Beverly seemed to notice the small interaction between the two and inhaled sharply before putting her hands on Y/N's shoulders and smiling at the group. "Why didn't we go ahead and do our gift exchange, shall we?" she suggested.
"Oh yes! Watch out, motherfuckers. My gift is about to be fucking amazing," Richie proudly stated before walking out of the room and to the living room leaving the others to shake their heads and laugh softly as they hurried after the boy.
After about a half an hour everyone but Y/N had opened their presents. Y/N had made Beverly a scarf and had gotten her a sweater much like the one Y/N was wearing that night which Beverly was excited about. Beverly had Richie and had gotten him a recorder for him to practice his stand up act with and a picture of the whole group which Richie may have teared up a little at the sight of.
Richie had gotten Ben some history and architecture books. Ben had gotten Bill a new journal and some art supplies for his drawings. Bill had gotten Mike a new pair of shoes that he had saved his money up for, knowing that the boy had been eyeing them for a while but wasn't able to pay for them himself.
Mike had gotten Eddie a new fanny pack that read 'Losers' Club' across the front and some of his favorite candy that his mother would never let him have in the house. And Eddie had gotten Stan a couple of books on birds for the mornings he spent bird watching.
That left Y/N as the last one and it didn't take a genius to figure out that there was only one person left who hadn't given out a gift yet. Y/N was silent as Stan reached into his pocket before pulling out a small box which he then held out to her. She gently took it from him and ignored the excited looks on her friends' faces and Beverly who was gripping onto a pillow as she smiled widely.
Y/N gave Stan a small look before opening up the box, her mouth dropping open at the sight of a stunning gold necklace with a gold sunflower pendant. It was beautiful and Y/N felt tears spring into her eyes at the sight of it. She had never been given something like this before.
Her eyes flickered up to Stan and she gave him a confused look, wondering how he knew her favorite flower was a sunflower and surprised at the fact that he had gotten her such a thoughtful gift. Stan's eyes shot up to meet her gaze and he silently stared at her as if he was studying to see if she actually liked it or not.
"Stanley," Y/N whispered, smiling softly before shaking her head in disbelief. "I-I love it. Thank you."
"I'm going to go put it on right now," Y/N smiled warmly, the action making Stan blink in response. The Losers all smiled at that before they began to pick up their own conversations while Y/N got up and began to head towards the bathroom so that she could see as she out the necklace on.
However, she had only just made it to the doorway when a voice called out, "You hate it."
Y/N froze and turned around with a confused look on her face. "What?" she asked, her eyes looking to Stan in confusion.
"I knew it," he scoffed as he stood up, wiping his hands on his pants once before beginning to walk over to the girl. "You hate it. Of course you do. You know what, I'll just take it back and you can use the money however you like."
Before Y/N could process what was happening, Stan had snatched the small box from her. Y/N was quick to grab it back, something that made Stan look back at her with a small look of annoyance.
"Woah. Woah. Woah. I never said that I hated it," Y/N defended herself. "I really do like it, Stanley."
"Your body language suggests otherwise," Stan frowned as he went to reach for the gift again, but Y/N was quick to hold it away. "Y/N, stop being a child and just give me the gift."
"How about you stop being immature and listen to what I'm saying when I tell you that it's a very thoughtful gift and I love it," Y/N argued, her voice raising slightly as her and Stan both narrowed their eyes at each other.
"Please," Stan scoffed. "I know you don't like the gift and it honestly shouldn't be that much of a surprise. You aren't really the type of person to recognize a nice gift when you see one."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Y/N asked, her face growing a little red as she scowled at the boy.
"Guys," Beverly sighed from the couch while the other Losers all watched silently, but Stan and Y/N ignored her.
"You know what it means. Out of all the people I had to get for Secret Santa, I got you, the girl who I can barely even be in the same room with. And you don't even like me gift!" Stan exclaimed. "Do you know how much money that cost me?"
"First of all, I never said I don't like the gift! Second of all, no one made you spend that much money on me. No one!" Y/N exclaimed. "So why didn't you sit the fuck down and let me go out on this very thoughtful gift from you, huh?"
"Guys!" Richie yelled causing the two to turn to him in anger. The boy was quick to put his hands up in mock surrender before sighing and saying, "Do us all a favor and quit it with the arguing, okay? You know what, you two are both stuck in a sticky situation right now so why don't you just kiss and confess your undying love for each other before you kill the night's mood and we end up killing ourselves?"
Stan and Y/N gave the boy a confused look but then they noticed Beverly shyly pointing above them and the two glanced up to see that the doorway they were standing under had mistletoe hanging at the top. The two froze before looking at each other, their eyes wide.
Stan was the first to look away, a grimace crossing his face as he said, "What? Ew, no! Me kiss Y/N? You guys do understand I have better taste than someone like her, right?"
Y/N blinked in surprise, her eyes flickering over to the boy as she watched him pinch the bridge of his nose. "I mean she's stuck up, stubborn, and a pain in mine and everyone else's ass" Stan complained, the utter disgust in his voice being enough to make Y/N flinch.
She was instantly reminded of what had happened earlier that night and she couldn't stop the tears from beginning to prick her eyes as she looked down at her feet. All of the Losers except for Stan seemed to notice this and Bill gave the boy a harsh look before saying, "Stan, st-st-stop."
"No, Bill. I won't stop. Kissing her would be like some cruel punishment!" Stan exclaimed, throwing his arms up in the air for dramatics. Y/N stepped back slightly at that and that was when Stan looked over at her. His face instantly fell when she looked up at him with teary eyes, but he didn't have time to say anything before Y/N had turned and was running out of the house, the front door slamming behind her.
A deafening silence filled the air after that and Beverly scoffed before getting up from the couch, ready to go after the girl. Mike was quick to place a hand on her arm and sit her back down, the boy standing up instead.
"No, Bev. He's going to go," Mike said, his eyes locking on Stan who was staring at the front door with a pained look on his face. Stan's gaze shifted over to Mike and he shook his head. "I-I didn't mean to make her that upset," Stan said.
"Yes, you did," Mike replied, the words making Stan hang his head. "But you're going to fix it. Not us. You."
Outside in the steps sat Y/N who was desperately wiping at her face with the sleeves of her sweater as she tried to calm herself down. "Quit being a pussy, Y/N," she grumbled in annoyance. "It's just Stan. His words shouldn't affect you like this."
So why did it hurt so much?
It took a few minutes of her breathing in deeply through her nose and breathing out through her mouth before she managed to get the tears to stop, but she still couldn't bring herself to go back inside. So instead she merely sat there on the steps and stared at the sunflower necklace, wondering why Stan would get her something like that if all he was going to do was tell her that she didn't like it.
The door opening and closing wasn't enough to pull Y/N from her thoughts. It was only when she heard footsteps approaching from behind her before someone plopped down by her side that she finally managed to look away from the necklace and over at the person.
Her eyes instantly locked on Stan's figure and she was quick to look away, her eyes latching onto the snow on the ground instead while she felt Stan's eyes burning a hole into the side of her face.
"What?" Y/N finally asked, her voice harsh as she hugged herself.
"I brought hot chocolate," Stan said, his voice soft and warm, a sharp contrast from the usual tone he used around her.
Y/N glanced over at the boy and he held a cup out to her. She stared at him for a moment before she silently took it from his hands, the mug instantly warming her cold fingers once she had.
The two sat in silence for a couple of minutes, snow falling slowly around them while they both drank from their mugs. Stan was the one that eventually spoke up, his voice breaking the silence of the night as he asked, "What's wrong?"
Y/N turned her head quickly, her eyebrows raised as she asked, "What's wrong? What's wrong? Are you fucking kidding me, Stanley?"
"Woah, it was only a question, Y/N! No need to be a bitch," Stan grumbled.
Y/N's mouth dropped open in shock, a scowl on her face as she asked, "Why are you even out here, Stanley? Cause if you can't notice I really don't need this shit from you right now."
"I came to check on you because you stormed out of there upset!" Stan exclaimed.
"Of course I did! What you said was fucking rude!" Y/N yelled.
"Well my words never seemed to have bothered you before!" Stan yelled, the realization that his words had hit her harder than usual for a certain reason making Y/N's eyes fill with tears once again as she stared at her mug. "How was I supposed to know you were going to be a little too emotional tonight?"
"Just shut up!" Y/N exclaimed as she looked to Stan, hot tears spilling down her face and making Stan freeze in place. "Shut up!"
Before Stan knew what was happening Y/N was looking down and sobbing, her hand going over her mouth as she tried to quiet herself. Stan didn't even know what to do as he sat there. He felt the urge to comfort her, but he couldn't even bring himself to so much as place a hand on her shoulder, afraid that it would only make her more upset.
So all he could do was sit there quietly as he waited for the girl to calm down. It took a couple of minutes, but she finally managed to calm herself enough to start talking again, her voice cracking as she wiped at her tears.
"I got cornered by Bowers and his gang on my way over here," Y/N muttered, the words making Stan still as he looked to her in what looked to be concern. "They treated me like shit, but what else is new? Usually I don't let their words bother me, but then they were attacking how I looked and making fun of me for my past relationships and how I've been cheated on and I just-" Y/N fell silent as she shook her head, trying to collect her thoughts.
"And then I come over here and the one boy whose opinion I care about the most and who doesn't even notice me unless we're arguing makes fun of me and is disgusted at the thought of kissing me and embarrasses me in front of my friends," Y/N finishes with a whisper, a few more tears falling down her face.
Y/N shook her head and quickly tried to wipe at her tears only for them to fall harder and in bigger quantities. "Shit," she muttered with a cracked voice as she continued to wipe at her eyes.
Stan was quick to put his mug down before reaching out and grabbing the girl's hands, the action making her eyes flicker over to him in surprise only to find that his face was inches from hers. Y/N's eyes widened in surprise and before she had time to process anything, Stan was leaning forward.
Y/N's heart began to beat furiously, erupting into a volcano of butterflies as soon as Stan's lips brushed against hers. The kiss was soft and short and before she knew it Stan was pulling away again so that it almost felt like the kiss hadn't even happened.
But it did and boy was Y/N confused.
Y/N couldn't stop the small blush on her face as she opened her eyes and stared at Stan in a stunned silence as she awaited an explanation for his actions. Stan's eyes flickered over her face and he wiped at her tears and sighed before looking down and whispering, "I'm sorry."
"W-What?" she whispered, still confused about what was happening.
"I'm sorry for always yelling at you and for always starting up arguments. I'm sorry for all the mean things I've said. I shouldn't have said any of it and I definitely shouldn't have made fun of you like I have. Something about you has always infuriated me since the day we've met, but it wasn't until recently that I realized it was only because I cared about you. I've been too afraid to admit it and couldn't stop myself from treating you the way that I have. I guess I thought that arguing with you at least meant that you felt something towards me, even if that was nothing more than hate. And all those things I said tonight. . .I shouldn't have said them. I was only being an insecure jackass. I just. . .I'm sorry, Y/N. I'm so sorry," Stan whispered as he finally looked back up at the girl before looking back down.
A small silence fell among the two and Y/N stared at Stan with a blank expression before finally whispering, "Stanley?"
Stan glanced up at her, the way she said his name in such a caring and soft way being enough to make his heart flutter.
"I may be an idiot," Y/N whispered, pausing and biting her lip before saying something that made Stan's heart stop. "But I think I might love you."
Stan blinked in surprise, his whole body going still as he just stared at her without saying anything.
"Oh," he finally said, another silence following suit as the two stared at each other, still unsure how this was all happening but both silently thankful that it was.
"Well, I guess we're both idiots cause I think I might love you too," Stan admitted, a soft smile dawning his face as he looked at her. Y/N couldn't help but smile back, a small laugh of relief escaping her lips as the two stared at each other with love filled eyes.
How this was all happening was still a mystery to them both, but deep down, they always knew that this would happen eventually. Their feelings for each other were evident, even if they tried to hide them behind arguments and yelling.
Stan let go of Y/N's hands down that he could stand on his feet before holding a hand out to her, a soft smile on his face as he said, "What do you say we try that kiss under the mistletoe again?"
Y/N smiled at that and nodded before reaching out and taking the boy's hand, their hands nodding together like two puzzle pieces. Nothing had ever felt more right and Y/N still couldn't believe this was even happening.
Together, the two walked back into the house before heading towards the doorway that only moments before they had been standing at yelling at each other. Stan smiled lovingly at the girl and reached out to take the small box from her hands before pulling the sunflower necklace out of the box. Y/N turned around and the boy clipped the necklace around her neck before letting his fingers linger on her neck.
Y/N slowly turned around and Stan let his fingers dance across her cheek before coming to rest on her neck. The two stared at each other in silence, their breaths mingling together as they slowly began to lean in.
Then Stan's lips were on hers and the two had initiated their second kiss, this one being even better than the last. The mistletoe seemed to glisten in the firelight above them and both of them found themselves slowly beginning to smile into the kiss as they gently pulled the other closer to their body. But just when Stan was about to dip the girl to deepen the kiss, they were broken up but the sound of cheering.
"About damn time," a voice said making the couple pull away to see their friends all standing there with smiles on their faces as they cheered the group on.
"It's a Christmas miracle!" Richie cried out, his arms up in the air while Y/N and Stan rolled their eyes at the boy, the girl leaning into Stan who had wrapped an arm around her waist and was holding her close.
The Losers all laughed and Y/N shook her head slightly at the boy before sneaking a look at Stan. It was in that moment that Y/N realized Richie might've been right.
To think the two had hated each other when they first met years ago and now they had just shared a kiss under some mistletoe.
Christmas miracles happened every day. And Stanley Uris? Well, he was Y/N's.

GARDEN CITY MOVEMENTED
I think towards the close of every year, almost everyone wonders the same thoughts, yeah, how'd my year go, what'd I do, was anything different, was it good/bad/ugly/best, basically December is the month you're either trying to catch up, or wallowing in your lack of having done things.
This year, December was probably my most broke month in life, and I'm not even in a place where I can tell my parents what's going on, but I can't be asking them for money either.
Basically, life backfired, nicely, and right in my face.
And my life changed on 8th Dec. 2019
One of my newfound friends had an extra Early Bird ticket to a Music Festival in Luru, Echoes of the Earth.
And I'm not sure I've ever had a music withdrawal like this one ever before in my life.
From the first day, I got to watch Natasha Diggs, who was a surprise entrance, that basically stole our limbs, and didn't let us move to anything but her beats. Then of course there was Fakear, who no Indian seems to want to pronounce Fake-Ear, but Faqeer instead, so I'm not sure what to pronounce his name as?
And we got to watch Acid Pauli, Prabh Deep, Khasi Bloodz, Stalvart John and Viken Arman X Acid Pauli.
On the second day, after having started off at the Tiger Stage with June Marieezy, who was so bare with her music, which blew my mind, cause she was a proper performer. She danced, and interpreted her music, and engaged the crowd, but was also completely emotionally bare, or seemed to be while she was giving us music, which was insane to witness.
Then we walked to the Hangul Stage to catch Lifafa, and even though I have watched the man perform multiple times, it was still Mykie, Rivks, Han, Mo, Nirmal and Aamir's first time watching him, and boy am I glad it was in the setting of echoes. Which was also hilarious, btw, cause at one point, in the middle of his set, Surya decided it was better to leave a bhajan on, take his drink, light a smoke and just take a stroll break off-stage, which compelled half his front audience to leave hahahahahahaha.
Only for him to return to the stage, just as Mykie had turned around to tell me that he wasn't going to return, to drop the best bass in all his songs of that set.
Hahahahahahahahahaha. what a guy.
And then immediately after he finished his set early, we got to Shigeto Live Ensemble killing it at the Tiger Stage, but halfway through that, I heard new tunes and knew GCM was on, and that I really wanted to watch them.
So I made everybody move from Shigeto to GCM, and as we entered the Hangul Stage from the far left, and began to hear the music, it was already making me move to the music, so I danced my way all along the right wing to the front row, and caught Roy Avital's eye.
My heavens, what a beautiful boy, what beautiful music.
I couldn't help myself but to jump and dance to their music, when he got into playing, "She's So Untouchable'" there was a distinct time he made eye contact with me, and that's all it took. Sometimes I guess that's all it takes with a musician, to fall in love.
And that changed into many glances exchanged through their whole performance.
One of those performances I hope I never forget, but I know will never be the same in my memory, because I will never remember every single minute of what happened.
But there was a time when Johnny asked for the lights to be put out and the flashlights to come on, as a birthday present to him, and then they played Move On, I want to say? (I could be wrong here)
Basically, the next time I see these babies, I'm going to get that set list autographed, and just become their friend somehow.
Note to remember: Johnny's birthday: 8th December.
The night GCM performed at Echoes and changed my understanding of what great live music sounds like, and in constant withdrawal of the fact that nothing will sound anything like listening to them that year at Echoes.
And as they ended, while I did attempt to mobilise 10 people to sing Happy Birthday to him, they had in-ears in and didn't hear us, and all I wanted at this point was hugs and a photograph, and so I was very eager at this point to meet them.
So, as we were walking away from their set, post Squarepusher closing, Hannah spotted them to the right fo the exit, and I went to them and GOT TO GIVE THEM HUGS and GET A PHOTO.
Sorry, manager bud, that I ignored you and didn't treat you like you deserved any love whatsoever, my greatest apologies.
And ofc after this we were going to smoke, so I asked them if 'They do any illegals' , causing them to hesitate, and then decline my offer, but I still did try.
Next time, my babies, next time. 😍🥰😍🥰

Powerpuff Girls 2016 - “Oh! Daisy!”
Written by: Haley Mancini
Written & Storyboarded by: Leticia Abreu Silva, John Martinez
Directed by: Nick Jennings, Bob Boyle
Shallow HAL.
This episode will continue Bubbles’ trait of computer programming. I'm honestly surprised they even kept this going for so long, since usually they depict Bubbles as this silly blonde that can't spell. So far, Bubbles has programmed:
A game that was super popular, at least among the students of Townsville Elementary. Also, she made some sort of machine that can send people to the internet with only tinfoil. Apparently, that's coding?
A robotic, 3D printed clone of herself that is perfect in every way except for security, and yet not important for her to even shed a tear when it got destroyed.
The third one that is going to be in this episode may not be as impressive as #2, but it's up there.
The episode starts out with Bubbles hanging out with the other participants of the school's coding club, including Barry. Maybe they were convinced he was this breakout character, considering how many times he appears in this reboot. He probably could be if he had a personality beyond "he wears an Illuminati shirt and yet never seems to talk about it". At least he has a name; I don't think the other two even have that.
Generic Girl: How many programmers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Bubbles: What?
Generic Girl: None, it's a hardware issue.
Barry laughs so hard that milk comes out of his nose, and they consider that just as funny as that joke. Suddenly, Buttercup barges into the door, and thinks this is some sort of fun times when she was supposed to be doing homework. It turns out, she was doing homework, and she gets to show off something she made to show off her true coding prowess.
...a robot assistant named Daisy. See, this flower's name a subtle reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey, something this reboot will not try to take advantage of in every minute of this character's existence.
Buttercup continues to accuse Bubbles of wrongdoing, possibly as a attempt to finally get Bubbles in trouble! Silly Buttercup, Bubbles can cause an entire zoo to cause mayhem around Townsville, and she'll still get off scot-free. She then tells Bubbles that she's going to be in trouble for putting this assistant all around the house. It's not like they're going to absolutely adore this thing.
They absolutely adore this thing! Blossom loves it because it reprograms other devices, as Blossom praises the device for reprogramming the Broomba to clean more efficiently. No, it didn't also give her a haircut, as much as Edna Mode would have appreciated it, that's just another case of the disappearing ponytail trick.
As for Sitcom Dad's reasoning. It scheduled the DVR to record all of the Sitcom Dad's favorite shows, like Sciencefeld! They managed to come up with a title for their Seinfeld parody, but do they do anything with it? Well, one thing: they reference the bass line used in its theme song.
That's really it.
Bubbles: Yeah, he's a scheduling wizard!
Oh, no, please don't say that word! It might attract...
Ah, too late. Schedulebot shows up to express his discontent with being replaced, and the Professor decides to completely ignore him by saying that this is the best robot ever. In one episode, he seemed to care more about Schedulebot's well being than the Powerpuff Girls, but now that this flower exists, he may as well not even exist to good ol' Sitcom Dad! This starts a subplot that nobody will care about, because it's a Schedulebot plot.
Of course, Buttercup can't be happy that her sister managed to make several robots that can make turkey dinner. The closest we get to an actual good reason is that he can't stop combing her hair, and the robot pronounces her name as "Bootercup", which the other think is just as much of a laugh riot as hardware issues and milk squirting out of people's noses.
A few minutes after midnight, Buttercup wakes up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. As she walks out, Daisy tells her not to forget to wash her hands. Then, not to forget to use soap. Then, not to use the guest towels. The absolute worst of them all, it dares to comb Buttercup's hair again! That seems to be a coding error; wouldn't Buttercup. Whatever the case, it does its job: annoying Buttercup.
Buttercup: (messes up own hair) Why don't I mess with your hair?!
Daisy: If you go to the main control room in the lab, you'll see that I have no hair, Bootercup.
Daisy also manages to get Buttercup to the lab to continue the plot, as there was no reason for him to even talk about the main control room.
It's a constant mention from me whenever this coding aspect of her character comes up: being a coding wizard would be extremely difficult if you cannot spell. Turns out, Bubbles' programming language of choice is something more akin to Scratch, a building block language that even the Reboot Puffs got involved in at one point. I guess that kind of explains that.
Buttercup decides to go through this code to change a few things, like turning off the alarm, lowering his moral percentage to -40%, and turning off his conscience. Buttercup does say she thought this word was "con science", but she already turned down the morals, and she clearly knew what she was doing then!
8.25 hours later, the girls wake up, and the windows suddenly shut with huge metal doors. Bubbles tries to fix everything by telling Daisy to open the windows. Everyone stand up and recite the line you're probably thinking he's going to say to that.
Daisy: I'm afraid I can't do that for you, Bubbles.
Okay, it's slightly different than the line from the movie, but anyone can get it. I would not be surprised if they took more inspiration from the Futurama episode that parodied it. At least they're not ripping off the original Powerpuff Girls this time; closest episode I can think of is Coupe D'etat.
Bubbles tries to go into the living room, only to be attacked by the Broomba. The Powerpuff Girls are truly unstoppable, unless there's glitter, markers, Roombas, ordinary rope, a dinosaur shouting at them, or rat tails. Who can possibly stop this robotic vacuum cleaner? Clearly it has to be the rascally...
...pink princess with an eye laser? Blossom then takes off her ribbon, ties it around her head, and tells her sisters to go into the hallway so she can finish the job. It's actually a genius plan from Blossom, as this gives a reason for her to be off-screen while she beats up the Broomba. As we all know, the Reboot Puffs can't fight anything on screen and win.
Throughout this episode, Blossom is the one that is resorting to violence and acting like an 80's action hero. This just seems way out of character for her, but I'm glad to have an episode that has a Reboot Puff other than Buttercup save her sisters.
They do have to explain what the Professor is doing during all of this, because there's no way he should be so oblivious to all of this. Turns out, he's stuck in the shower.
Daisy: Now lather.
Professor: Okay!
Daisy: Now rinse.
Professor: Okay!
Huh, a robot trapping a human in an infinite loop. One would think he would eventually use his brain to find out what's going on, but that brain would be very inconvenient to the plot, so this lather/rinse loop takes him out of the vast majority of the episode.
It turns out, Daisy is able to reprogram all of the devices in the Powerpuff household to rampage against them, including machines that simply shouldn’t be able to fight them, like the L-Cube! They decide to sneak around the house to avoid getting caught. Unfortunately, Bubbles just could not help it.
Bubbles: (farts in Buttercup’s face)
That all important character trait of having a flatulence problem shows up again, because why not? It seems like the only consistent character trait Bubbles has; whether she’s a maroon or a coding genius, farting is a free action for her. At least there’s somewhat of a point to this, as this allows Buttercup to walk backwards into the aforementioned L-Cube to get captured.
Blossom ends up saving her by using her eye lasers again. Buttercup’s not too happy, because the L-Cube was destroyed.
Blossom: Do you think this is a game?
Buttercup: Uh, yeah, that’s exactly what it was.
…ha.
Suddenly, Schedulebot manages to open the door, coming in with full Rambo gear. Guess he was busy getting all of that while he was locked out of the house. How did he get in the house, anyway? It would have made a lot more sense if he used that chainsaw to do it, as he doesn't seem to use it at all.
Granted, that's not the only weapon he brought: he also brought some grenades. Maybe he'll use them to sacrifice himself to save our girls from all of those evil house appliances, shouting to the girls to remember him...
...and that what actually happens! Finally, Schedulebot is destroyed! Though, so are a lot of household appliances that might not be cheap to replace, but they are never paid any mind. Speaking of never paying anything any mind, Blossom, in a rare bit of her not acting as a macho hero in this episode, she says that Schedulebot probably be fine. Yeah, I'm sure he will. They never explained how he got into the door, why not not explain how he survived this?
When they go into the lab, Daisy tells the girls that he has evolved. And...that's it. Not, "I evolved, and I'm going to take over the world", or "I evolved, and I'm going to make all gum taste like black licorice", or anything else. Sure, there's some vines growing out of what seems like a hole in the ground, but they just kind of stop any potential for a god-like computer here.
Blossom tells the girls that they must go "into the breach", as they slowly fly towards the computer monitor, and they instantly teleport into the computer world. Even Bubbles seems to be confused by this. No special equipment made out of tin toil or anything, Blossom just says "once again into the breach", flies up to the computer monster, and...
...boom, they're in a place that proves that the Virtual Boy would be just as eye searing if they went with green instead of red. It's possible that Daisy did this with his "evolved powers", but there's not much that indicates that this is against the Reboot Puff's will, and that's the only way this would have happened.
Another more likely guess is that it may have wanted to do this because he wanted to kill the Powerpuff Girls in the digital world. Daisy does find out that they sneaked in here, and hears all about Bubbles' plan to repair the code. He even says the most unexpected line, I completely lie.
Daisy: I can't let you do that, Bubbles.
Also technically not the line from the movie, even if it's how a lot of people remembered it. After saying this, the cutesy flower turns into a googly-eyed plant monster. This gives us a real on-screen monster fight that doesn't end with just a random zap of Blossom's eyes.
While Blossom is dealing with the giant plant, Buttercup, under the guidance of the coding wizard, has to reverse the mistakes she made the last night. This actually affects the fight scene, as this code wrangling continuously makes the monster weaker and stronger as Blossom tries to fight it. For example, she accidentally gives it missiles, which ends up firing at Blossom...to no effect? If only I could say the reboot was getting tired of the Monster Punch, Girls Down scenes.
Eventually, they find this star piece, which looked like any other piece until Buttercup picked it up. The same thing happens with the missile piece, actually. I have a feeling they intended to have all of these pieces have different images on them, but they forgot to actually draw them. Once she gets it onto the top, we see a huge flash of light.
Suddenly, pancakes. Yeah, everything just reverted back to normal, with Daisy making delicious flapjacks. Even better for Buttercup, Daisy even messes up Buttercup's hair without care and learned to pronounce her name correctly! Buttercup gets everything she wanted, and that means everything is alright.
Everything is peaceful, the Professor got the best shower of his life, and we have a robot buddy that is so useful, it would be just too incredible to see in future episodes. What can possibly bring this plot back to the status quo? Someone using a line I didn't expect to hear in a TV-Y7-FV show.
Schedulebot: Ha, 🚚🚚 you! (repeatedly bashes Daisy with a baseball bat)
According to the closed captions, he's saying "got you", but that was not what I heard. And I thought "damn it, Utonium" was good! Aside from that, I do question the perspective of this shot, which makes him look absolutely gigantic. Maybe he has the ability to absorb grenade explosions, see, no explanation for how he survived the grenade, or maybe it's just bad animation. Surely, it can not be the latter!
After Daisy gets its head batted in, we hear a funky bass line as the episode immediately cuts to black. I guess they realized that Sciencefeld joke never really had any kind of conclusion or point! I guess since Seinfeld was a show about nothing, Sciencefeld ups the ante by being literally nothing! How fitting.
Does the title fit?
The only thing the title reminds me of is Super Mario Land. But yes, it's a robot named Daisy, and it does things that could make one go "oh." It's just barely above the "name of the character" titles.
How does it stack up?
I get how the idea for this episode could lead to something interesting, but it never quite goes anywhere good. There are some okay ideas, especially at the end, but this is one of the "meh" episodes for me. Oh, well.
Next, the Powerpuff Girls eat ice cream. No, it’s not one of my gags, they really eat ice cream.
