ok so. i looked up the mariowiki and there's?? two colored designs for the superball flower + its in-game sprite and im like. bro. bro. what if theyre variants? like, the same way we have the official design for the fire flower but the smw fire flower looks very different from that one, which never returned outside of smw-related stuff. it makes me think of regional variants and THAT MAKES ME FERAL THAT'S MY KINDA STUFF

and then i think that luigi wouldnt know which would be better, which variant does daisy like the most so he just grows all of them just to be sure. the mental image of him searching around for books about this species and how to grow them in a climate outside of sarasaland. idk, maybe he even builds a greenhouse (mario doesn't even question why, he just goes along with it. all he knows is that luigi wants to grow some flowers and they need a specific climate and all that and he's like "oh okay then") (luigi cant tell him his plans bc mario is terrible at keeping secrets when it comes to luigi's love life, he's too enthusiastic about helping him which can be bothersome if there's a surprise involved) and grows them carefully.

and considering that superball flowers arent popular at all + the difficulty of growing them, it's hard to find them in flower shops outside of sarasaland. so when luigi presents a bouquet of homegrown superball flowers, she's like "where did you get them??? oh my stars???" because she would know if luigi was at sarasaland (SHE WOULD DROP EVERYTHING TO MEET UP WITH HIM THE NANOSECOND SHE HEARD THAT HE WAS THERE, even if she would play it cool and "no no i was walking around and saw you, so i thought i'd say hi :D") so...... yeah Where? How? Hello???

This is part of a series of illustrations I've done which is reimagining old oil paintings ("renaissance paintings", though not all of them are from the time of the renaissance so I will use that term sparingly haha)

Rembrandt depicted the young man in the original painting as weighed down by his armor and weapons (as they do appear sightly too big for him)-- and yet having determined thoughts about the possible battle ahead. I thought this extra fitting to portray this as a hobbit, and since I already did one with Merry, I chose Pippin!

I do wonder how the money gets where it's going. Especially when one of the primary vetting blogs is locked out of their PayPal for donations (PayPal refuses services for Gaza & the West Bank as written in their official policies) on top of GFM also not operating in that area.

So if someone is raising money on behalf of the families in need, why can't they offer a bank statement to prove it? Gfm doesn't payout through PayPal, venmo, cashapp, etc. They only payout to a bank account.

I just heard another writer trying to figure out which self-publishing route to take, and all I'll say is that I'm glad I found Draft2Digital. (More accurately, I'm grateful to my more knowledgeable writer friends who told me about it a couple years ago.) I don't even use the free services as much now that I've learned to do fancy formatting etc on my own, but it sure is nice that the option is there.

TL;DR: you upload a manuscript, they make it presentable and available everywhere from Amazon to your local bookstore, and they charge you zero dollars, only taking a cut of the profits they helped you make. A small cut.

They are run by Writer People who want to help other Writer People succeed, and it shows.
