can you plz hate rant about the deadpool & wolverine movie… saw it last week and i didn’t like it all… very refreshing to see that someone shares my opinion lmao

i got u man👍 most of this was in my drafts from after the movie came out, but i just never got around to posting it. i added some other opinions ive had since then, tho theres still a lot ive said over the past month that ive totally forgotten about lol

the intro sequence was fucking HYPE‼️ but then, part way thru the movie, u realize....it doesnt ever hit that same mark again. WHERE TF WAS THE HUGH JACKMAN SONG THEY PROMISED? the trailers showed 95% xmen origins clips. the movie didnt mention it once. no the brothers line doesnt count. false fucking advertising. deadpools sexuality has been confirmed since 2014. and now, 10 years later, its still being reduced to gay jokes. and people still eat it up like its genuine rep.

that guy at the tva who’s whole punchline was that he likes men. why. in 2024. why is that allowed. his whole character was a gay joke. i mean so was deadpool, but this guys whole thing was. That. can i say homophobia? can i say i felt that? is that reasonable? this movie felt like a fundraiser for the future avengers movies to make up for all the recent flops.

i watched this shit twice and yea. i was right. the plot was half assed. once u watch it once, thats it. thats the fun. its all just cameos. the jokes didnt even make me laugh again, since it was majority shock based humor. my second watch thru i was trying not to fall asleep in my chair. the way it lacks plot isnt in the Not Coherent kind of way, but rather 'this couldve been a 40 minute monster of the week episode'....or maybe even a 2 episodes if they wanted to get freaky with it it just felt so separate from the rest of the movies, like it wasnt even a sequel.

literally, the movie begins with them abandoning the previous timeline and wade moving to a new ‘better’ one.....almost like hes moving over to a more sacred timeline.........separate from fox.........which is dumb af cuz the movie couldve been him accepting that whatever happens in ur life u cant go back and change, and u have to make due with the good u already have. the previous movie ended with him having a family, he didnt need a new one. i mean, they did that for logans 'learning moment', why wouldnt that also apply to wade? paradox literally says ‘hey we brought u in cuz the mcu is dying, so u should come over to the sacred timeline’ and then after he changes into his costume THEY CHANGE THE PLOT. THEY THROW THAT OUT. WITHIN MINUTES. now paradox is like ‘actually just your timeline is dying, and i wont elaborate on how that works. and also u dont get to go to the sacred timeline. and i hate you.’ WHY BRING HIM THERE AT ALL THEN IF THATS THE PLOT U CHANGED IT TO? ITS DOESNT MAKE SENSE. even if the plot was that he had to go to the sacred timeline cuz his own was dying, WHY WOULDNT HE BE ABLE TO BRING HIS FRIENDS?

what was the vanessa plot? they never explain why she broke up with him? theres like a tiny flashback where she says hes been distracted ever since he got rejected, rejected from what? clearly not the avengers, since that happens after she leaves him. so wtf was the motive here????? the cameos felt like props. especially the deadpool corps, which i feel like they didnt even skim a wiki article for. they just went off google images. which hurt me. cuz i reallyyyyy like those guys....in the comics, theyre a group of deadpools(consisting of lady deadpool, kidpool, headpool, dogpool, and deadpool), who in their first series save the multiverse from being destroyed(sound familiar?). theyre the GOOD GUYS. why tf would they hear cassandra nova say ‘hey im gonna kill the entire multiverse’ and go ‘alright sure whatever’. why were they in the void to begin with? how’d they get there? isnt the void just for movie continuities anyway? why was cassandra also there? how does the void work? why does the void exist? will someone please explain literally anything in this movie? why not have them come in later to save the fucking day instead??

oh lady deadpool...how they massacred ur character... OH KIDPOOL.....HOW THEY MASSACRED UR CHARACTER...... god speaking of that. cassandra nova had literally so much potential and they watered her down to just Evil Villain. she hasnt done much in the comics, but one the things she did in one them was using her powers for therapy on the xmen(which deadpool also made a cameo in). she sort of does this briefly in that one scene, but it was just so.....basic. bland. why was there no b plot with the rest of the main cast. did they think the audience doesnt watch these movies for them? cuz i sure fucking do. i was waiting for the continuation of colossus and wades epic romance arc. side note, the gay jokes in the previous movies felt even less queerbaity then these ones. this movies queerbaiting was just....sad. marketing queerbaiting. this movie WISHES it couldve been deadpool 2 levels of queerbait(shoutout to the extended sex mimicking scene set to In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel)

i know wade is supposed to be the Funny Guy but man. thats literally all he was this movie. the other ones has ANGST they had him be HUMAN while this one was like 'logan was mean to me one time ):' bro. what happened. where'd the writers go.

this wolverine was like. the wolverine 2014 wolverine. which is when fox wolverine started to lose character and just become grumpy and mean. hes also like that in Logan 2017, but the reason why this kinda attitude works in that one is bcuz hes old, hes fucked up, hes tired, and every fuck that comes outta his mouth he means it. and yet....still manages to experience other emotions. what a concept. ive read literal satire comics that understood his character more(shoutout to the What The--?! series). it just had me waiting for the 'gotcha! this wolverine is actually 3 dimensional!' but it never fucking got there. it was amusing in the beginning, but by like half way in, i did not give a single fuck about this guy. they tried to give him some emotional moment(like. the only emotional moment in the entire film) but it just...lacked the emotion. just 'heres my sad backstory. are u sad now?' and then they did the SAME THING AGAIN no we get it man u were at the bar instead of with ur friends and u went on a classic wolverine style berserker rage. why should we care tho?

i mean, sure, they could use the excuse of being in the type of depressive state where ur emotions numb out(speaking as a mfer with the came curse), and yea hes not the kinda guy to open up about his emotions unless he really trusts someone(which he would likely distance himself from forming connections with others after that kind of trauma), but with cassandra nova right there there was a missed opportunity for elaborating on that. for digging deep into his brain and telling why this fucked him up so bad. imo, if i were to write it, with everyone he gets close to he puts upon the expectation for himself that hes at fault for anything that happens to them. that he needs to be the savior, even in a friendship. to prove himself to be worth something. especially after a life of being convinced hes a burden by just existing as himself, he needs to have use in order to make up for the fact that hes Logan.

but whos going to save him? isnt he struggling too? whos gonna help you? looking at all the other logans across the multiverse, who is the wolverine? why do you keep falling for the same patterns no matter where you are and who you are? deadpool called sabretooth queen and she/her'd logan within like 5 seconds of eachother. that was pretty good ig

the other night i was rewatching the movie Hackers with my mom, saying that it was obvious the creators mustve known a lot about hacking in order to do such a good parody of it, out of love for the craft….but my knowledge of hacking is pretty minimal, so i have no actual fucking clue if that assumption is accurate or not. im just going off of a ton of references to hacking. for all i know, real hackers couldve hated this movie.

and thats how the average non comic fan saw this movie. they saw a buncha characters and references and thought ‘damn, they must really love the source material’ without knowing how much of a kick in the face it felt like to watch them get used and butchered like that.

more on the whole, thinking on my relationship with the ofmd fandom (got distracted by statistics) also i stopped makin this a proper coherent narrative halfway through youre just gonna have to deal w that if u read this

i mean, im not saying anything new its a lot of what i talked about on finale day, its a lot of what everyone i know has been talking about ever since.

things are different now. and maybe things always would have been different, even if i had absolutely loved everything about this show- maybe that change from a fandom that was stable, unchanging, would have always left me with this feeling of displacement, but the long and short of it is that i wasn't happy. i didn't like it. and i dont think theres a single thing that can be done to the show now to make it back into a show that i cared about in the way i cared about it before s2- and its not just that izzy died, its so much of how the show wrapped up plot lines that i can't see a future with this show for me. it would take so much backtracking to get to a point where i could get behind the story again, i dont think its possible.

everything is different now, and i feel lost.

getting into ofmd fundamentally changed my life in ways i can't even begin to say, and the community around it is a core part of that. ive met people through this silly little show, ive made friends through this silly little show, and that can never be changed by the way it ended, but it does feel tainted to me- and the way the end of the show ripples back into the bits i did like, the way the interviews keep taking things away that i held on a pedestal.

this fandom, this community, this family, means the world to me. i hadnt felt like a person in so long, and i hadnt realised until i met all of you. its cathartic to know im not alone in feeling upset about the way this series ended. but it also just makes me so fucking sad. for all of us.

i dont consume media. i dont watch things. its a narrative ive heard from a lot of my friends too. i never expected the way ofmd took a hold of me, but i kept holding on because i had faith in this piece of media. even though thats gone for me now, i cant leave this place, ill still hold my memories of this show dear to my heart.

the only reason i can keep going on liking it is because of every single one of you, because of the world we built based on this show, because of this show, in spite of this show. i hold the parts i love like a treasure and throw the rest away. its different and ill learn to accept that, maybe. maybe i wont, but im not alone in these feelings. youre not alone.

speaking of complex siblings dynamics, have you see succession? its a show on hbo. its about an ultra rich and powerful family that is ultimately, dysfunctional. theres four siblings and their relationship mean sooo much to me. i wont drop any spoilers just in case you dont know anything, but when i say dysfunctional i meant it!! one of the things i like about this show is that it doesnt have any flashbacks or show the backstories for most of the characters, rather they kinda drop pieces of information randomly and you just go ??? that happened ??? youd think it wouldnt be a good storytelling strategy bc how are you going to emotionally connect the story to your audience? but somehow, the show does it really well. for example, one of the brothers, roman, was heavily abused. and sometimes one of his siblings would go, "yeah i remember when dad used to heavily beat the fuck out of you" offhandedly, like its a cute little fun fact. and youre sitting there like....when did THAT happen??? ofc they wouldnt show it, but if you watch how roman and his father interact on show (roman is so submissive and scared next to his father) it starts to make sense. its like the "show dont tell" but they switch around to "tell and show." subtle interactions like that fully exposes a characters psychology. subtle body language goes a long way. theres also the eldest brother connor, whos seen as the father figure bc their real dad is so neglectful. but tbh connot gets shit on a lot and uuyfuefehfe theres more. i would talk about this all day. sibling angst got me on a chokehold.

Oh man, so I did a search for sibling webweaving and I was like woah what is all this lol. I had no idea there was a term for stuff like this, but I'm fascinated! I must not be getting the TikTok videos... admittedly my use of that platform is limited lol.

The thing about the otome game not delving into things means that we all get to speculate and come up with whatever we want. It's a blessing and a curse lol. On the one hand, I like being able to come up with my own interpretations. But on the other hand, it'd be nice to have just a little more depth that what we have.

I have thoughts about Belphie and specifically what happened in the OG with him. That was definitely a situation of, there is so much more going on here than they're bothering to get into. I also get that they can't really do a ton of that, partly due to the medium and partly due to the amount of characters they have to deal with. Like I think they can only choose to flesh out certain characters and the rest kind of end up on the back burner. Which is annoying because there's so much potential for so many amazing stories!

I also have a lot of thoughts about Satan and his relationship to Lucifer and everybody. It's like they give us just enough to make the story dramatic, but in the end everybody loves each other and so on and so forth. I'm not saying both Satan and Belphie shouldn't be able to reconcile what happened to them and move on, but it just happens so fast. It seems too easy. So I kind of headcanon it as, they hide everything. Not just those two, but all the brothers have a certain level of trauma that they just bury deep or at the very least don't display in front of MC. I know they make MC out to be the demon therapist, but nobody resolves their issues in one session and that's all they're normally limited to. But of course they don't have time to get into things that deeply in a mobile otome game lol.

I have not seen Succession! It sounds pretty intense. I think it's always interesting when media use different techniques to tell their story. Of course I have very little knowledge of how TV scripts are written, but for story writing, the way a character reacts can imply all kinds of past history, even if you don't know exactly what happened. Flashbacks are helpful, but I think it's interesting to have a bit of a mix. A character is always going to tell the story of their past a little differently than how it actually happened. And I find that it can reveal a lot about character just to see what they change or leave out when telling it. Of course, who they're speaking to can affect that as well. But it's definitely an interesting concept!

hi oomf. i come to talk abt The Music. usually i would have sent something the moment i got done listening to it but i was fighting for my life (migraine 😔) but its another day and i've had more time to rlly digest the songs so at least my thoughts can be more coherent.

as a whole, i enjoyed myself a lot! it was very fun to listen to. there's something INSANE about hearing sh*wnu again. like wowwww i forgot how much i liked his voice??? it was such a joy, i think i ended up rlly latching to his lines. but hy*ngwon did rlly good too, i actually think his breathy tone (dunno how to describe it) was a rlly great fit for some of these songs, it was very neat. i feel like the entire ep sounded exactly like what i would expect from a unit with these two... idk but something about it just felt so natural. so i had a lot of fun! if i have any complaints, is that i wish it was a little longer... i RLLY could use a couple more songs, especially from hy*ngwon. as for more specific thoughts love me a little was reaaaally good, and i think it was the objective best choice as a title track so i'm glad they went with it. the chorus was SOOO good, its been stuck in my head all day. and the last part of the song was also sooo great, it had a rlly strong conclusion i feel. its rlly rlly cool to see hy*ngwon making title tracks, i reaaally hope he gets a chance to do it again. love therapy was not a fave but it had some rlly strong parts... i love love love the part where it's just hy*ngwon talk singing, it scratches such an itch for me. and that one high note by sh*wnu.... shaking throwing up /pos. roll with me was SO.... i think its my favorite. listen.... its the fucking piano... PAUL IS MY FAVORITE . probably. ok its complicated but he's probably my favorite. he's a really earnest portrayl of denial in trauma to me...he's a very uncomfortable truth and resonates a lot with my own experineces in sooo many ways. i love everyhting about how he's written. he functions so well as a subversion of a typical "creepypasta protagonist", he means so much to me as a commentary on identity and childhood trauma in terms of his actual existence in the story, and he's also just kind of a hugeeeee goober. i like how he's bitchy sometimes. i like how he kind of cluelessly stumbles into an unfathomable unstoppable machine and hes just like... (sipping baja blast) Lol? i like how he comes up with excuses about how he can't have anything to do with it until the very end. he's clawing at any kind of sense of normalcy until he's literally physically locked inside a room and has to stare the truth in his face. it means a lot to me..... hes a real importtant character. i cant really come up with anything coherent to say besides that but he is really important to me. i made a picture about some words i feel about him so you can look at that instead. i have a truly demonic and evil playlist sitting around with just songs that remind me of him and this picture is mostly words from thoes song

hi hi hello! omg, don't apologize, this is such a cool ask!! i'm going to throw this answer under a cut, spoilers for my fic the other cottage

so... i actually wrote this a little ambiguous intentionally, and i didn't want to make it clear if draco necessarily killed his double, or just knocked him out. the fact is, it doesn't really matter. the way i conceptualized it, the minute the comet finishes passing overhead, everything that isn't within a certain vicinity of each individual cottage collapses into nonexistence, and every cottage moves forward as its own distinct alternate timeline that no longer overlap.

this does mean that the draco the fic follows would disappear from his original world! i imagine a lot of the timelines would end up short a few people, or even with too MANY people, which is all part of the evil, evil fun.

i agree that the ending is pretty sad in some ways, but i wonder if draco would see it like that. the way i imagine it, draco doesn't see his double as any more or less worthy than himself, and probably sees this as a 1:1 exchange - he'd wonder, why does that version of me get to have harry if i don't? and i think this kind of logic paired with draco's inherent selfishness would make it pretty easy for him to see this as a sort of cosmic trade-off instead of, like, murder.

the new harry wouldn't know that his draco was traded out, which really begs the question - would this harry be able to tell this was a new draco? what happens when he asks about shared memories that this draco doesn't know, because he wasn't really there for them? is this draco even compatible with this harry? their relationship could really be doomed before it begins, depending on how different these timelines are. i don't have answers to any of this, but it's really fascinating to think about, which is why this fic was so interesting for me to write.

anyway, i hope this cleared some things up, even if the answers were a little unsatisfying. i'm more than happy to answer any other questions you might have, but this fic really has way more questions than answers, which is what makes it fun in my opinion!

also, if you're interested, you should really check out the film the fic is based on - coherence (2013). i think the themes and complexity of the multiverse elements are a lot clearer in it, and it's a remarkable film with an equally challenging ending.

wait i know you said you wouldnt elaborate on buffy and faith being ooc on the ats Sanctuary post but i need to know your thoughts 😳 if youre open to it ofc.

well… since u asked. i remember reading a post where someone explained this much more coherently than i will but i cant find it so. i’ll do my best.

it’s pretty much only buffy and angel’s portrayal that i Do Not think was done well. Faith is fine really, she’s come off that “nothing i do matters bc i dont matter bc im already dead so why not fuck everything up” mindset and she now has to deal w Everything. angel is at his best this ep and also at some of his worst, particularly w his interactions w buffy. he’s the forgiving figure, the guiding hand that faith needs, and he extends unending kindness that he LEARNED from buffy, he learned how to be a hero from her, how to forgive when it seems impossible. (see: That Hug in “Beauty and the Beasts”) and then buffy gets there and shes very vindictive, and its framed as buffy being jealous of faith&angel (her looking in on their hug parallels that scene in “Enemies”). she’s very much supposed to be the “antagonist” of the ep as much as the council or as kate. but in Buffy her distrust of faith was understood as very complicated identity issues in s3 and then bc of guilt abt the whole stabbing situation in s4 (and still complicated identity issues too). buffy DID try to forget abt faith, and she’s then faced w faith’s understandable stance of “u stabbed me and also killed my dad and also put me in a coma and also forgot abt me square tf up???” and she spends the entirety of “Who Are You?” literally walking a mile in faith’s shoes, and at the end of it she doesn’t look Vindictive or Angry she looks conflicted, and even sad.

And then we get to Angel and none of it tracks. now i love Mean buffy, bc she can be mean, but her meanness is almost always a tool to push ppl away (see: “When She Was Bad”) not as a reactionary thing. that scene on the rooftop between buffy and faith is The Scene of “Sanctuary”, but everything around it makes it less poignant than it could’ve been. buffy HAS offered forgiveness many times to faith, and she HAS been spat on and made a victim, but it Feels like the writers want you to see buffy as unreasonable coupled w the rest of her characterization which consists of her bragging abt riley to angel and then hitting him (she has tried to hurt him w her words b4 when she feels hurt, see: “you have a heart? it isn’t even beating.” but she Never got physical w souled angel) and it feels… icky. bc buffy is portrayed as a “bitch” and angel’s the Good guy who just wants to help in comparison. also that fkn line “i’m sorry but i’ve never killed anyone.” like… bro she just wouldn’t say that. SHE was the one who originally wanted angel to get thru to faith in “Consequences” bc she understood that angel knows what it’s like. and to be clear, buffy Should be trying to hold faith accountable, i just don’t think she would’ve gone abt it like That. yes, she would’ve been irritated and upset, faith rejected her help and her forgiveness and that scares her, i think buffy would’ve even been bitter that angel got thru to faith when buffy’s the one who’s been trying to do so since “Revelations”, sometimes halfheartedly but still. i just can’t see buffy acting like that when its so clearly just a device in order to bring more conflict for faith to make the decision to turn herself in and maybe even to make angel look like the Rational one, it is his show after all. hope i explained that well, never done this sort of post b4.

TL;DR this ep provided Way too much food for buffy antis by presenting her as an antagonistic character on the same sort of level as kate and the Council, despite what happened at the end of “Who Are You?” just to present angel as the good guy savior in comparison. and she says and does things she wouldn’t say or do (brags abt riley, calls angel a murderer, hits angel) to make her seem unreasonable. basically, they kinda treat her like a tool for the plot (faith turning herself in), and it rubs me the wrong way.

wow wow wow ok, after reading chapter 12 i got to the conclusion that Jae is either the MIRACLE or the RACCOON and i really really hope it's the first one bc i don't want him to be a bad person, i would cry, honestly 🥲

And that scene with reader's mother?? GIRLLLL, that hurt, i even teared up a little. At first i thought that she was having some sort of vision of her young self, maybe she was hallucinating, but when the mother appeared and hugged the little girl UFF it was a punch right at my heart 💔 AND THE TEDDY BEAR??? NOOOO i felt so bad for reader u know? i wanted to give her a big hug and protect her of everything and everyone 😭

But i'm curious about her mother and what made her be a horrible person to her own daughter, i mean i don't judge, but neglecting your child is someone unforgivable, it leaves scars that can take so long to heal and honestly reader has the right no forgive her and start healing herself 😤

And also... what happened to her other fiends? What happened to Erik....what's going on???? 🤨🤨🤨 I AM A BIG FAN OF YOUR WRITING AND THIS HISTORY 👏🏽 The suspense, the angst, the pining, everything is *chef kiss* 🤌🏽🤌🏽 I cant wait to read more and see all 9 of them (i'm sorry at this point jae is a part of her right now and i don't want them to be separated pls :') ) to be happy, because that would make all the suffering worth it at the end... right? :))

First off, thank you, thank you so much! 💜 And now by the points:

1. I'm very happy with the positive welcome of Jae. I'll repeat it thousand times if anyone sees me mistreating him, you're legally allowed to remove him from my hands. As for whether he's a miracle or the racoon you never know 👀 but he's not a bad person

2. The Recovery arc for MC if I stick to the plot map that I have rn will, from this moment on, be as central as her relationship with the boys. You know when you have trauma, it's hard to be in a relationship with someone or trust anyone so they're not mutually exclusive. Idk how we got from crack to talking about acceptance, acknowledgement, moving on and abandonment but we're here now. With a little ✨crack✨sprinkled on top

3. Other friends... one of them will appear in the following chapters but it's not such a big point, it's more so one more kick to the reader's well being (cause I'm evil) Long, unspoilered story, short:

MC applied for Political sciences degree at a local university and met most of her friends there, hence, how she knew about Universities' night fair mentioned in Surreal Sunday (bike gifting scene with Namjoon) but she ended up leaving it to study interior designing in Italy, where Jae went some years later. After finishing university, she met up with friends back at home, who by now finished their degrees in Political sciences and since they were all reasonably broke, fresh out of education, they decided to move in together, hence why MC had an eye out for apartment 27. However, there was a Covid outbreak that paused the plans of moving in and during this quarantine period, they kind of just pushed her out of the friend group. The reader tried to contact them but they ghosted her. So for her, moving in with the guys was the only way to get her dream home. The split from her friend group is the "long list of people who made mistakes" mentioned in Sh*t Again and why she keeps thinking of "stop trying". In this context it means "stop trying to bond with people, it blows up in your face every time". Also, Erik isn't a friend of hers, he's just a colleague at ID Solutions who had a little too much tequila before flying out so he couldn't make it :D

All of this has been sprinkled throughout the story but I guess it's not as coherent as I thought. Nevertheless, there's a specific chapter in store a.k.a. the one that will deal with the time skip in Furious Friday and will talk about events of MC's past shortly before leaving home and before studying in Italy. And some of her past will be included in individual members .5 chapters 👀

4. Also ot9! Love it! The guys probably don't but I'm sure Jae will be able to handle himself, he's no doormat 😤

these guys..... literally the fastest and most fic i've produced has been for them. they haunt me sometimes i think about joe's van speech and i am struck dumb once again by just the depth of their love. i've grown up in a weird time where for like the first 2/3rds of my life queer rep has been a thing of wishful thinking and hard projection but joenicky as not only canon, but well done and thoughtful and not just two white guys and not just blink and you'll miss it.... they mean the world to me i can't express that enough

this ship.... you know when ppl say u cant speak on smth bcos u love it too much. this ship is it like genuinely it is one of the most personal ships to me to date and yet i still havent been able to write fic because all the thoughts in my head are genuinely too difficult to think about in a coherent way. its one thing to see an asian person on screen its another for that person to be of your own ethnicity, in a loving queer relationship that lasts thousands of years. and then it gets severed. literally i've written quynh "meta" (mostly me projecting again) but i havent been able to write for them both because its too much for my brain to comprehend. im still convincing myself im deserving of watching it play out even though it might end in the worst way.

book of nile - i'm open to it

i'm waiting on canon to catch up to fanon with this one because i think while there is potential, i'm really more of a canon-compliant person (often much to my own loss but its a hard mindset to shake) and the way the movie left nile and book makes it kind of hard for me to imagine in a solid way. do both these characters deserve love? absolutely because i care about them both a great deal (even though i rag on booker a lot its mostly in jest i sympathize with him pretty hard) and i think nile should get that love story for the ages like joey and nicky and andy and quynh have. but i think both of them need to come into their own for something concrete to happen. not opposed just patient i guess

Season 3 notes popping off

due to my desire to not completely fail all my classes this year i made myself slow down significantly while listening to this season, and the fact that the other person i'm listening along with had to catch up. We've managed to convert several other people to start listening and its pretty great.

ep 81: what does it even mean to be chosen by one of them? And if he was chosen by the eye. we know Gertrude wasnt? Because she cut the eyes out of the magazines?

ep 82: elias lmao. I understand why people like him so much bahshdhdk i thought he was gonna snitch on Jon but he didnt so he's fine. Ok but how do we think he knew all that stuff. Idk probably just institute connections. I love the fact that the recorder just wants to record stuff randomly bjahsjdhd. Elias feels a lot like Michael in the sense that he knows more than he should and talks in a way that implies he just wants to wait and see how things play out for his own benefit. I understand him knowing the things that happened but his description of her emotions implies something paranormal. Maybe he's connected to one of the entities. Which one I cannot guess.

ep 83: did a file get delivered randomly to the place he's staying at? Probably elias lmao. He thinks the mannequin is related to the stranger. Idk I would believe it.

ep 84: worms? I know he says earth worms but idk. Again? Is she making gordon golems out of trash? Martin popping off. You can tell the statements get to him more that they get to Jon. How come martin is so mad about it? I want to assume he just doesnt want her to get stuck there but idk. Jude Perry. The calliope organ. Jon heard a circus in one of the last episodes

Cuz if he has the heat powers and shit then we know he's an avatar of the desolation. but then why does he have so much eye imagery. also he got burned intentionally? like jude did when she went on her monologue about the feeling of burning? but then why did he wear the eye pendant. it stops him from being burned all the way which seems like he's not fully accepting the fire or whatever.

1. what themes would you like to write about that you feel don’t get explored very often?

i love writing coming out storylines. it’s not really that they’re uncommon, i just find a lot of catharsis in them. 

2. what are some common elements of stories you are tired of seeing? what would you avoid writing about?

i tend to avoid writing sibling dynamics bc i’m an only child and therefore not really. qualified. i love reading it though!! 

7. favourite description in your WIP?

it was really hard to pick one so i have a few answers for this bc i love to talk about myself so. (under the cut bc JESUS this got long but spoilers for and i’ll do anything you say (read it here!) ahead!!!)

- from chapter 2:

Sokka looks at him, a fantasy come to life, and takes off his stupid sweatpants.

He throws them at Zuko’s head, and earns himself a short burst of that real laugh, shocked and unguarded.

“You asshole,” Zuko says. He sits up and grabs Sokka’s hand, pulling him down on top of him. Something comes alive under Sokka’s skin where Zuko’s fingers graze his wrist. He calls it lust and ignores the fact that it feels nothing like it.

Zuko kisses him, his mouth still in the shape of laughter, and the alive thing screams for his attention. Sokka buries it and hopes it won’t deafen him before they’re done.

im very fond of this whole chapter (i think it’s probably my favourite? it was definitely the easiest to write) but i really love looking back on this part particularly now that we’re in the angsty part of the story bc this is where it all started. yes technically it started in chapter 1 but this is when sokka starts to fall for zuko. this is the beginning of all those pesky non-casual feelings that he’s going to pretend don’t exist until someone else calls him out on them.

- also from chapter 2:

He’s forty-five minutes late already, and when he knocks, a woman made of pursed lips and sharp angles answers the door. She looks elegant and expensive the same way a skyscraper does. Or a cache of medieval weaponry.

“Oh,” Sokka says, digging into his pocket to find the map on his phone. “I must have the wrong place, sorry -”

She looks him up and down, her eyes narrowed in a way that feels violent and practiced, and her smirk turns distasteful. Sokka risks a glance down at himself, at his torn up jeans - not distressed, just torn - and the Madonna t-shirt he’s pretty sure actually belongs to Katara, and thinks she might have a point. The bag in his hand feels heavier when her eyes land on it.

“Zuzu,” the woman calls into the apartment, “your dinner’s here.”

“I didn’t order -” Zuko appears in the doorway, bitter frustration in his expression as he looks at the woman.

His eyes fall on Sokka, though, and his face clears into a light-pollution smile.

this is technically two so i will start with: i love azula. i haven’t found any room to bring her back yet but believe me i am LOOKING. she’s hot and mean and gay and i LOVE HER. oh also insider scoop but suki’s date from earlier in this chapter.......WAS azula. they probably won’t see each other again because once azula met sokka and connected his face to the Best Friends Forever picture frame on suki’s desk she stopped answering the phone.

pt 2: i’ve had a couple of comments mention the “light-pollution smile” line specifically and i am always so happy to read them bc yeah. YEAH. i’ll admit it. that line HITS. 

- from chapter 4:

He sets his phone down - only, he doesn’t. He misses the table by a mile, and in his scramble to catch his phone before it breaks on the hardwood floor and wakes Momo on the cushion beside him, his hand finds the lip of his cereal bowl, and then that’s falling, too. He manages to catch the phone, but something in his head gets lost in translation on its way down his arms, and he ends up with a boxers-only lap full of soggy Cheerios.

Momo gets a splash of milk on his back and hisses at Zuko for his crimes, and somehow that’s the worst part of it.

haley @fruitysokka said that this passage reads like an action movie and i think about it all the time. (thank u haley i love u)

- lastly this extended metaphor from chapter 6:

The soup is good, once the heat of it clears him up enough to taste it. It’s thick and warm and there’s enough pepper that Sokka gets a kick from it even in his condition. He feels it all the way down his throat and into his stomach, where it mixes with the prickly nervousness he’s feeling from Zuko’s attention.

He sets the bowl down on the table and asks, eyes stuck on his hands in Momo’s fur where he’s climbed into his lap, “How was the date?”

“It was good, actually,” Zuko says. “Jet seems like a nice guy. He’s very - uh - passionate, I guess you could call it? He’s a climate and human rights activist.”

The spines of Sokka’s nervousness turn to daggers.

...

“I said yes. We’re getting lunch on Sunday.”

The daggers are swords now, and Sokka’s heart sinks down, down, down, right to the hilt.

...

“I’ll text you when I’m home,” Zuko promises, and Sokka’s heart skewers itself on a second sword.

Zuko’s smile when Sokka says, “Thank you for the soup,” is a third.

The door closing behind him is a fourth.

The silence as Sokka shuffles back to bed is every single one that remains.

8. favourite dialogue in your WIP?

ok so i cant share my actual favourite dialogue bc it's a spoiler for chapter 8 and i technically haven't written it yet (it's in my brain just.....plaguing me) but it's GOOD i SWEAR so. once again i have more than one answer bc actually? i love this fic and im proud of it. deal with it.

- from chapter 1:

“Hey, stranger,” Sokka says, still watching him in the mirror. The corner of Zuko’s mouth ticks up.

“You’re not following me, are you?” Zuko’s tone is seductive, endlessly so, and Sokka wonders while he dries his hands if he has to put it on or if he just sounds like that.

“You give a guy one compliment and he thinks you’re stalking him,” Sokka mutters, and Zuko laughs, low and enticing. Not the genuine, endearing laugh of this morning, but one with an agenda.

Well. Sokka always likes a plan.

“Are you following me? ” Sokka asks. He spies a miraculous dry patch on the sink bank and tries to be casual about the way he hops up to sit on it.

“I might be,” Zuko says, and at Sokka’s raised eyebrow, he continues, “I saw you at the bar and I wanted to talk to you. Sue me.”

“You wanted to talk.”

“Amongst other things.”

as a chronically awkward person i am INSANELY proud of the flirting in this fic. no idea if it would work in a real life situation. excited to never find out bc im not about to use lines from my fanfiction on real women. 

- from chapter 2

“You must be Suki,” Zuko says. He meets her gaze, and his fingers go still under Momo’s chin.

“And you’re Zuko,” Suki replies, her smile all different shades of intimidating. “I’d shake your hand, but I know where it’s just been.”

i wrote this entire scene just so i could have suki say this. im not even joking. suki is my favourite part of this entire fic and its not even ABOUT her.

- from chapter 3:

When Sokka crosses the room and slips under the covers beside him, Zuko says, “I can leave, if you want. I can go home.”

...

He asks, still barely hovering over Zuko, “What if I don’t want that?”

Zuko swallows. “I can stay.”

“So stay,” Sokka says, and lays his head down on Zuko’s chest.

i just think it’s sweet. i like it a lot. makes my heart hurt a little when i think about it.

- ok last one bc i just realised this is turning into a novel. from chapter 4:

“How’s my baby?”

Zuko glances down at Momo, batting at the untied laces of his shoes with one determined paw. “He’s doing just fine.”

“And how’s Momo?”

“He’s - what?”

are there better written, more narratively important and emotive lines in this fic? yes. is this the best part of the entire thing? also yes. i invented the jin/yue wedding because i needed a reason for zuko to have a key in what became chapter 6, but sometimes i think the entire fic exists just for this exchange. best dialogue i have ever written.

9. what scene was the hardest for you to write and why?

the start of chapter 6 of aidays was difficult. i kept wanting to skip ahead to the meaty parts - i.e, zuko and his soup - but i didn’t want to do sokka a disservice like that. it was also really hard to maintain the balance of accurately describing the delirium of illness while still being coherent for the reader? so that took me a couple of days to get right.
