I know it's a nuanced topic and any breed of dog can be dangerous but every time I see people scare mongering about german shepards I think about the first time I took mine to a dog park and how she was having a blast UNTIL she saw that there was a like, barely 1 y/o mastiff in there, and despite how badly that poor guy wanted to be her friend she had absolutely no idea how to process the very new information that there exist dogs who are bigger than her, and spent the entire time we were there standing on a picnic table looking desperately confused and occasionally whining at me to help her.

Hassan + Yves:🍇🍑🍰🍹🍔🍟
Sitting in front of you so normally with a vice grip on your shoulders.....Hi!!!!!
For purpose of this ask, gonna be referring to DND Hassan :)
🍇: What sort of friend are they? Where are they in the group dynamic?
Hassan: unsure... hard to say. hassan really aint one to have long-lasting friendships, not outta choice but the fact that his friends usually dont stick around. but in a group he's usually the voice of reason but if that voice of reason could be easily swayed into being an accomplice. like yk the kid from the magical school bus thats like can we PLEASE have a normal field trip..... thats him. thats hassan de ruyter. he's so unsure about everything but he'll tag along cuz he dont got no one else. despite this and his fear of everybody he can honestly be a genuine and kind guy 2 hang with..... just a little bit tired 24/7 and easily exasperated but for the most part it really dont change the fact that he cares about people a LOT. he will sit with you after a very long day and reminisce the past and hope for the future. even if he cant assure himself, he'll sure as hell assure you.
Yves: PETTY ASSHOLE... you wouldnt be even sure if you WERE friends cuz its hard to tell if he likes you or not. cuz he can act like he tolerates you and then talk about you behind your back like its nothing. dreamy sigh... he starts problems with people on purpose... hes THAT guy yk. very petty, very judgemental, but not very secretive about it. he's abrasive and a drama queen but its ok hes silly about it..
🍑: What sort of traits does your OC look for in a Significant Other?
Hassan: same sorta approach he has for friendships: He doesn't. he's never dated, more or less because he doesn't feel like he COULD be dated. however... think his brain flares up for dominant women. women who can carry him bridal style... heeeeeeeeey... not exclusive to women though. but besides that, honestly someone who he can chill with and do fuckall. and probably as introverted out as he is.
Yves: someone who can loosen up and be silaaaay and have fun!!!! he goes out a lot, so having someone who can keep up with him is a good thing!! ofc thats less important. frankly someone who's willing to scratch his back and he'll do the same, mutually beneficial relationship.
🍰: What's something your OC counts as unforgivable?
Hassan: you can do whatever you want, but instigating shit with betsy, you are LITERALLY on his shitlist. thats the only thing in this world he cares about, that and his goat. you cant hurt his animals and get away with it, you are forever hated.
Yves: ripping him away from control, or making him feel like he's not in control. that's probably the biggest part of him. a need to be in control of everything and everyone - including himself. so taking away that choice, no matter how harmful or questionable his choice is, youre basically threatening his entire self worth since his entire persona is built on control and power.
🍹: Does your OC have any funny anecdotes told about them?
Hassan: saedboy... nawt really.. he can be a really HONESTLY funny fucking guy, even if on accident cuz of how he interacts with people, and being a scaredy cat, but no one really knows him long enough for any anecdotes to be made.
Yves: him and elias went out for a night in the city, originally intending to get parts for his mech, but something happened and i dont even know what happened, but they woke up in elias's apartment with half of their face temporarily paralyzed and also ppl on the omninet were calling yves and elias Mistresses. i dont know what happened. i dont know what happened.
🍔: Are there any recent trends you think your OC would hate? Or love?
Hassan: 😭 i dont know any IN trends rn... but i know he'd love the barbie movie i just know he'd gather all of his friends and beg them to watch barbie with him..... he's very fucking passionate about the shit he likes and hes not a pushy guy but he WILL beg on his knees.
Yves: i hate 2 say it... but this is just yves, thats just who he is. he'd HATE the re-emergence of unions.... he's those dudes on twitter who complain abt how no one wants to work these days and like. if youre living on minimum wage then save money and get another job. and then he goes offline and takes wages by being a landlord. do you understand. he's so fucking out of touch and tone deaf.
🍟: What does your OC admit to be their guilty pleasure? What actually is their guilty pleasure?
Hassan: if you'd ask him, *probably* sleeping in. he'll take any inch of sleep he can get, even if its 2 days in a row. that is actually his guilty pleasure. he would not move for anything if he had the choice.
Yves: if asked, he'd probably be like... :) my guilty pleasure is icecream or something super innocuous like that. but its actually making people angry at him and setting shit on fire.
🍩: What's a crime your OC is most likely to commit? What's a crime they're most likely to get arrested for?
Hassan: bit sad but public intoxication... tbh... he does. that a lot. its how he gets himself in deep shit cuz he's a lot more cocky and loud when he's drunk, compared to a sober him that's just anxious and soft spoken. he'd honestly get arrested for being just fucking insanely drunk and doing some stupid shit.
Yves: i cant even answer this question properly bc. he HAS committed crimes, war crimes. actual war criminal. not using the word as a throwabout, thats actually something he's done + tried to do again on more than one occasion. but he'd prolly get arrested for espionage lol

My Current top 10 favorite Miraculous Ladybug Episodes and why (+analysis)
1. timetagger - the amount of possibilities this brings to the plot and insight is so fun. also, it’s one of the few things of writing and planning i appreciate in this series because it was hinted in the very beginning of s1 that alix’s watch was a miraculous, but now we get to see that connection. Seeing things that were hinted long ago end up having substance makes it more interesting. Also, I do thoroughly Alix as a character and loved to see her and see that she will have a bigger role in the future. This episode alone leads to so many theories and things that can be analyzed and makes it so fun - such as the idea that there is someone (besides master fu) that knows about their identities, and even further, about what happens in the future. The idea of a new hawk moth also comes to play. The akumatized villain from the future proves that there is a hawk moth in the future, but that it isn’t gabriel agreste. This brings into question of what happened to Gabriel and the current Hawk Moth? How did someone else of ill-intention end up the miraculous after hawk moth? Who is this new Hawk Moth? This brings so many theories and possibilities to where the show is heading. We also see chat noir and ladybug do still exist in the future as adults. We can only wonder and theorize about how theyve developed between present and future, though. Another small detail at the end that was interesting is i’m pretty sure chat broke the fourth wall?? At the end of the episode, chat is talking to ladybug and about what alix said about the future as they walk away, and started saying “maybe in the future you might even agree to see a movie with me. Hey, what if it was in the very near future? Like, the next show...”
2. sandboy - there are many reasons i enjoy this episode. first, i love the kwamis and i love learning more about them and having some focus on them. We learned more about background and history of the kwamis as well as see more than we had before. In addition, I think it brought good development to character, particularly for adrien/chat noir. Marinette’s and ladybug’s biggest nightmares weren’t too much of a surprise, and neither was adrien and chat noir’s when you think about it but foes bring more insight to him as a character and helps set up ideas for his character and things later. As adrien, his biggest nightmare was being trapped and cornered, obviously a result of how he’s treated by his father. While adrien tends to always seem chill and nice around people and like everything’s always fine, it shows there’s more we don’t see. Then, as chat noir, his biggest nightmare was that ladybug hated him. It was important to show how much chat noir really cares about his relationship with her, and not just romantically. It shows us this not only as a watcher, but so that ladybug sees too. This sets up well for the ny special, where ladybug gets upset with chat and says she can’t trust him. While not exactly like his nightmare where she despises him, it is parallel to his literal biggest nightmare and shows why he reacted the way he did and shows just how much ladybug saying that would affect him. I also very thoroughly enjoy the moment where adrien sees the sock plagg left when he sneaked out and he went “Plagg! who turned you into a sock!” i think i find it funnier than i should.
3. heroes day p2 - not to be a ladynoir stan but that’s a big reason i enjoy this episode. When the other heroes they recruited fall, Ladybug gets worried and begins to lose hope. This isn’t very common for her, but it shows she’s not some perfect hero, she has times where she has doubts. However, chat noir was right there for her. He was able to encourage her and get her back into the spirit. I think this is important to show their relationship without thinking about it in a romantic way. It shows chat noirs full trust in ladybug, and how even if ladybug doesn’t always express it, it shows how she does appreciate and trust chat noir and that he is able to help her when she’s down, it’s a balance. Also, when chat noir is encouraging ladybug, one thing he says “let’s go back to what always worked - you and me against the world, m’lady.” In my eyes, this reinforces the “soulmate” idea and the importance of the two. Don’t get me wrong, I love the other heroes and miraculouses being used, and maybe its just me, but I think it’s important that despite the other heroes being helpful, chat noir and ladybug are the core, and that reinforces that. Also I honestly love that adrien was detransformed at the time of saying that line. In addition to ladynoir, there’s the plot and villain progression of hawk moth and nathalie, which sparks the plot to really start picking up after this event.
4. reverser - I love marc a lot, i relate to his character a lot so i enjoyed having him and I wish we had more outside of this episode. There are also other fun characters we get to see that we don’t see as much (Alex and nathaniel). I also like the akumartizaion set up, i think it’s a very realistic situation in which misunderstanding takes over and there’s no specific person to blame, and i appreciate the demonstration of that. Not to be a chat noir stan, but him being a “scaredy cat” after getting hit by the reverser was so cute and funny and i enjoyed that. Again, back to the other characters, as i mentioned before i like alix a lot. i enjoyed her mocking chloe in the episode and then not caring when the teacher tried to say she should be nice. and then i liked the moment she scared chat noir. and then i enjoyed seeing her role in helping the duo in defeating reverser. also, there was a moment on the beginning of the episode where adrien teased marinette and any moment where adriens chat noir side comes out is my favorite. in conclusion, i love seeing the characters we see in this episode and chat noir was cute.
5. puppeteer 2 - as much as the wax statue scene gives me the worst second hand embarrassment of my entire life, the episode gave us a clearer insight to adriens perspective on his relation with marinette, which i enjoyed, and made me like him as a character even more. while i love a good “she’s just a friend” joke, it is confirmed in this episode he’s genuinely oblivious - which he shouldn’t be perceived as dumb for. social cues are harder for some people and can cause problems but it’s not smth people can help, we also have to remember he has very limited experience with people. anyway, it gives us that insight and i believe it’s important. he even expressed acknowledgment of how he doesn’t pick these things up sometimes. so he interpreted marinettes reaction wrong, and he believed marinette even didn’t like him. it distressed him so much to think that was the case. this was the insight we needed to see how adrien perceives their relationship and how much it really developed. even if he doesn’t have a crush on her, it introduces the idea that he still genuinely cares about her and having a relationship with her - parallel to us seeing ladybug see that with chat, which i believe is very important for the development of lovesquare and the plot. not to mention the frusturation of dramatic irony at the end when adrien, seemingly for the first time we’ve seen him as adrien, mention to someone else how he DOES love someone. while painful for marinette, i do think it’s interested because i don’t even think he’s mentioned the fact he loves someone to nino, showing how he still considers marinette as someone he can be close too.
6. ikari gozen - I love Kagami and I appreciated this kind of redemption arc. I wasn’t sure how I felt about her at first, but after this episode she’s one of the most relatable characters, personally. In turn, it also helps Marinette learn a good lesson. So yeah, the main reason i enjoy this episode is Kagami’s character development and her character. Ryuko is also so cool.
7. kwamibuster - i mentioned this before but i love the kwamis a lot and i love getting to see them in episodes. in this episode we got to see not only interactions between plagg and tikki, but get a chance to meet other kwamis and see their miraculous jewelry and some of their abilities. we also see that marinette and adrien are not incapable of connecting dots, realizing both plagg and tikki were in the same school. however, plagg and tikki try to reason them out of it and they both did things to throw the other of their track, so they didn’t keep their theories - but it does show they’re not Completely Oblivious.
8. troublemaker - there’s a lot of small things and moments that make me appreciate this episode rather than one big thing. to start, i enjoy penny’s character a lot and this is one the few episodes we really get to see her and the only one where we get focus on her. in addition, she was a good villain and arguably the closest a villain got to taking ladybug’s miraculous, taking an earring. then theres marinettes adrien photo collection being exposed, and adriens facial expressions in reaction to it made me laugh. and then of course, the scene following the fight, adrien talks to marinette. one noticeable thing is that marinette didnt stutter as much as she had and got out full thoughts. good for her ! and it shows that she is slowly beginning to be more comfortable with him. then of course, adrien. he starts by asking if she was okay since the fight happened at her house (even though he was literally there and knows damn well marinette wasn’t even there, kinda anyway). and then, as i mentioned before, my favorite thing ever is adriens chat noir side coming out, which is exactly what happened. he teased marinette for the photos, both asking if she was lying and then the “even in the most unlikely places” line. the thing about this is that this is something we barely see happen with adrien as adrien, yet it happened with marinette, which shows he’s comfortable enough with her to do that. and then of course the sincere moment of him saying he’s glad she’s her fan, he’s just so sweet good for him i love him.
9. origins - a classic. provides us background we needed on how things start and characters meant. there’s so much things to take from origins about their characters and the story in general. for one, marinette not even wanting to be ladybug. i feel this fit her character and was more realistic than if she accepted it right away. and then her being a bit of a mess the first time and not even capturing the akuma. i think that was important; to show ladybug and marinette are not perfect, but that’s what makes her a better and more relatable character. it wouldn’t be fun if she were perfect from the beginning. and then chat noir, who was a lot less reluctant. in contrast to marinette. he had been isolated his whole life and forced to try to fit a perfect mold. this gave him not only physical freedom he always desired but also the personal freedom to be able to be who he wanted. it of course also shows the balance of the two heroes. ladybug was nervous and had no hope at the beginning, but was able to get though with chat noirs encouragement - which is something that comes up every so often, but shows their balance and dynamic. and then of course . the umbrella scene. one of the most iconic moments, and also one thing i’ve noted is that we barely ever seeadrien laugh like he did in that scene, and it makes me treasure that moment more. and despite the whole “she’s just a friend” thing, it was important in that moment and you can see how important it is to him that he has a friend, and probably establishes the trust and appreciation for marinette we see as the show progresses as she was very important to him being kind of his first friend and that it holds a different kind of importance to him.
10. glaciator - an iconic episode of course. while marichat is probably my least favorite in terms of love square ships, i think marichat moments are some of the best. i think it’s where the two are more showing themselves to each other than in any other way. chat gets to see truly marinette in which she isn’t a nervous mess and is actually acting like herself, and marinette gets to see chat has more to him than she saw previously as ladybug. with his constant flirting and joking with her, it seemed that she interpreted this as this is just his personality and it didn’t mean much, that maybe he acted the same with anyone. but with the interactions of this episode, she learns that’s not the case, he genuinely and truly loves and cares and about ladybug, it was more than just joking around. this realization is big for marinette and she even comments that she misjudged him. this episode allows eachother to rlly learn more about eachother. and then it helps ladybug be honest. she’s completely honest with chat after that, saying there’s someone else and she doesn’t want to lead him on, but that sets the stage for them to still grow on their platonic relationship, which is still important. ladybug for the seemingly first time directly tells chat how he’s important to her, and chat admits that his friendship with her is the most important thing to him, showing us more about adrien/chats character, as well as demonstrates despite his love for ladybug the platonic relationship still holds great importance with seems to contrast how marinette views adrien at this moment.
honorable mentions:
reflekdoll - this was almost in the top 10 but i changed it last minute. i appreciate learning more about juleka and hope we get more to grown on that later. and not to be an adrien stan but he looked really pretty with his outfit for marinettes shoot. one thing i feel is also important to notice is how easily he was willing to take off his miraculous for the sake of marinettes shoot. he didn’t even really hesitate? that wasn’t really surprising for marinette to do, but for adrien it again represents a small thing that shows he really appreciates and cares about her (whether it’s romantic or not). the concept of them switching miraculouses were also fun, and seeing a little bit of tikki and plagg interactions again. the reason that it didn’t end up in the top 10 was because i think the execution of their miraculous switch should’ve been done much better. i feel like the writing made chat look dumber than he is and made ladybug look more bossy than she is. while i feel part of this was meant to demonstrate they’re truly made for their own miraculous, it could’ve been demonstrated without making the character look worse.
startrain - i don’t mean to be basic but the adrinette in this episode was super cute. however that’s not the only reason this episode stood out. hawk moth rlly sent his own son into space, u know as one does. and then the irony of him saying “how ironic i have to depend on my enemies (ladybug and chat noir) to save my son” like if you think that’s ironic then… but anyway . i also enjoyed seeing more max in the episode. his transformation is fun and i think we deserved a max based episode where he (or markov) didn’t have to get akumatized. also i feel like in the beginning of the episode, i like how adrien flat out decided to go to london without even asking his dad. i think he’s slowly stopping to care so much about his fathers rules and realizing what he needs for himself and this shows that.

I've been following you for a while but I dont know all that much about your OCs so how about a big resume of them all?? :DDD
I haven't really posted much about them on this account until recently so that doesn't really suprise me 😅 but yeah I absolutely can! Warning though this is going to be unbelievably long
I guess I should start off with Zensuke because he is THE gay purple cat. I named this blog after this guy. I made him when I was probably like 12-13 or around there so he had all the things you'd expect a repressed edgy kid's of to have. He was basically a demon who managed to get out of thier world's equivalent of hell and instead of doing anything evil he just made cake and got married to the guard who was supposed to kill him. I don't really do much with him anymore but I still love him very much.
Corbinian is probably the character I talk most about and he's the one I edit to fit into different worlds the most. He was a normal doctor but he got his memory wiped by robots and ended up working as an executioner for the robotic mafia, but eventually got caught and had to hide out in Lobotomy (he was originally a Lobotomy Corp oc) where he discovered he can extract abnormality dna and with some altering the dna can be injected into humans causing a variety of different mutations and effects. He's usually very heartless and manipulative, but does have a soft spot, usually for anxious, soft spoken people, who subconsciously remind him of his brother (who is a friends if so I can't really get into him). He also was given a variety of nicknames by the higher ups, like Corb, Corn chip, Corb on the Orb, or just Corn. Je
Corble is the result of Corb trying out human cloning. He has the same general appearance as Corbinian, but with purple hair (hence the name, because he's porble corb) that's styled differently. Since the experiment was technically a failure Corb was going to kill him, but Corble was really sweet and innocent and Corb basically went "well great guess I adopted my clone then". Corb stopped messing with cloning but adores Corble.
Might as well get all of my Lobotomy ocs out of the way. Oliver is the first Lobotomy oc I ever made, which is funny because I may or may not constantly forget that he exists. Oliver is basically a five year old kid in an adults body, and I mean that literally, because his parents basically locked him in a room and ignored him so his mental age is basically that of a kids. He's very mischievous and loves pulling pranks on people, most of which are harmless. Unless it's Corb, whom Oliver gates with a passion. Then it's thinly veiled murder attempts disgusted as pranks. He loves Fairy tales, and only works with fairy tale abnormalities because he panics with any other kind. Only one person in the entire facility can even put up with him, and that's Mabel.
Mabel is trans lesbian who can find the good in almost anyone. She's optimistic, bubbly, and has a great sense of humor. She tends to get really flustered around women though. Is it obvious I kinda projected onto her a bit? Because I did. If she wasn't in Lobotomy she'd definitely be a streamer. I'm just now realizing I basically made snapcube before I knew who that was. Whoops.
Up next is Adam! Adam is quiet, nervous, and honestly just prefers to not be noticed. Their ability to almost seamlessly blend into thier surroundings is astounding. Most people (me included) tend to just forget they exist. Which honestly is funny because they end up dating the loudest, most cocky person in the entire facility. Adam loves horror movies and spicy food.
Kieth is the loudest, most cocky person in the entire facility. He's the adopted son of a sephirah and the leader of the Rabbit team so that much is unavoidable. He's quick to anger, blunt, and tends to underestimate other people. However, he's also loyal to a fault, and willing to back his friends up no matter what. He feels like his mom's are expecting him to live up to expectations that he can't (and that they don't have but he doesn't realize that), so he's constantly throwing himself in harm's way to desperately try to prove to them that they made a good investment by adopting him or die trying. His two passions in life are collecting weapons and tending to rabbits, two of which he managed to train to sit on his shoulders and attack people. Despite being total opposites he loves Adam very much and will endure any horror movie with them, even if he's a huge scaredy cat.
Damien doesn't gave that much development, unfortunately. He came from a very religious household, moved out, and frequently gets possessed by an abnormality who makes him act like a cryptid. Totally normal stuff. He also went to law school.
Zephyr is a very, very serious individual. They've got a completely monotone color palette, speak either in short, blunt sentences or long, fanciful paragraphs with no in between, and tend to come off as cold and stiff. They're completely devoted to work, which is how they managed to become a captain. Despite this, they're very kind and caring, but unfortunately rarely get to show that side of themselves unless it's with Jamison, thier partner, both in crime and in the romantic sense. They also have a love/hate relationship with Owen, basically openly hating his guts but also enjoys thier banter and would hate if anything genuinely awful happened to them or his family.
Jamison is the complete opposite of Zephyr. He's an open book, very colorful, and tends to slack of when Zephyr isn't looking. Not on purpose, he just tends to get distracted most of the time. He's quite popular because he's very cheerful, which is rare in the higher ranks of Lobotomy. He'd absolutely die for Zephyr, and us usually the one who patches thier wounds. He really doesn't like Owen and thinks thier a pain in the ass, but keeps that to himself most of the time.
Owen is..... Interesting. I kinda went buck wild with him not gonna lie. He's one of the oldest son's of the God of Nightmares and Fire, an absolute agent of choas, and a campy fashion nightmare. But... I love them. They're both unbelievably obnoxious and also very caring. He's the kind of character you'd love but also hate at the same time. He also ended up becoming the God of Death in one timeline. If he wasn't God they'd probably run makeup guru/cursed amsr YouTube channel. Honestly he'd still run those as a God though. Also gender is a toy store and Owen is a kid who broke in after dark and is running along pushing all of the assorted genders into a cart while laughing maniacally (they use any pronouns but I stuck to just he/him they/them for this little snippet)
Alright, Lobotomy ocs done. Up next is.... Ugh... Octavious. He's originally a Danganronpa oc, the shsl gossip, and he was made to be a villian and by God does it show. He's the most fake, back stabbing, two faced character I've ever made. He's also the most one dimensional, which was actually intensional. He has no personality beyond being a petty, lying bitch, so when he runs out of lies and rumors to spread he goes into an existential crisis about how he has virtually no identity until he makes some new lie up about some random person. He's also abusive towards his younger sibling Aspyn, whom he has both physically and emotionally scarred. And, the icing on the "fuck this guy" cake, he's incredibly obsessive over his "wife" Melissa, who wants nothing to do with him and never even dated him, let alone married him. Basically he's a horrible, lying, abusive stalker. He also dresses exclusively in eye burn pink since the most poisonous bugs are usually brightly colored. Fuck Octavious, all my homies hate Octavious.
Next is Melissa, who honestly wasn't much better before her arc. She was raised to believe that in order to truely succeed in life, you have to ensure others fail. She, unfortunately, took that advice to heart. Get arc consisted of learning that we all can succeed together and that actively fucking other people over just made her an awful person, so she changed her behavior and tried to help people from then on out. She's incredibly meticulous, organized, and really smart. She still has issues trusting, but she's getting better. She has a crush on Octavious's younger sibling, but absolutely despises Octavious.
Aspyn is a quiet, caring individual who has no confidence both due to Octavious and just how they were raised. They are an incredibly skilled doctor, however, managing to perform amazingly in several different fields. They are, however, very defensive about thier passions, quick to insult anyone who questions them, mainly due to Octavious. They have a huge crush Melissa, but is to afraid to ask her out. Also they wear an eye patch because Octavious messed up one of thier eyes.
Hooo boy where to start with Edward. He's really inconsistent between universes, but the main constants are his power (he can trade bodies with people), him and Max getting together, him being a huge bookworm, and somehow he usually ends up being my self inserts dad???? Hos other aspects tend to change. Sometimes he's a power hungry megalomaniac who's trying to take over the world and will crush anyone and everyone who gets in his way or isn't useful to him, using his power evily to stay young forever by trading bodies with his kids and killing them when they're in his body. Other times, he's a fairly calm, if not a little cold, man whos biggest crime is the occasional tax evasion, who's power is more of a curse, causing him to stay alive forever through a series of unfortunate coincidences. Either way he's fun to write
Max is one of my favorite characters. He loves baking, his friends and family, he isn't too bright but no one holds that against him. Unfortunately, no matter which side of Edward it is, he's hopelessly in love with him, which can lead to his downfall. He's very protective of his cousin Heron, and tries to protect the innocent, which he usually doesn't end up doing thanks to evil Edwards manipulation. I also somehow failed to mention he's a plant man and flowers sprout wherever he walks and he can control plants but I couldn't find a good way to fit that in naturally.
Heron is half a plant man, in the worst possible way. He has rose vines instead of blood, which feels exactly how you think it would. Magic keeps his alive luckily, but it's unbelievably painful. Most of him and Max's family died when they were young, and unlike Mac who ended up on the streets, Heron ended up in an orphanage, where he learned at a young age that he shouldn't get close to anyone because if he does, they'd die. He genuinely believes that, and the only person he thinks is immune, is his cousin Max, who he even still expects to drop dead. Heron mainly fights by breaking his skin so his vines will grow rapidly and trap and kill his attacker, which looking back is uh. Kinda symbolic. I didn't do that on purpose but it fits
Eden is an angel, who was outcasted from heaven after being framed for a crime they didn't commit. They don't understand how humans work, but is trying thier best to fit in. He's one of the few beings Heron trusts, and even still Heron doesn't trust them much because of Eden's ability, being able to control holy flames. Eden is stoic and aloof, with an odd sense of humor. He insists that him baking using his holy flames is a form of training. Despite them claiming to be above human emotions, they very much are not above them and he is actually quite emotional.
Avocado is one of Herons old friends, who fell victim to Herons "luck" (aka they died). They are a drider (basically spider centaur) who came from a large family of drider thieves. They are very quiet and kind, which they use to thier advantage, since one would thing they'd steal small objects from people's houses or pickpocket them, which Avocado very much does. While they're fairly weak in combat thier thieving skills are not to be underestimated.
Grape is Avocados older sibling, and they are very serious and quite rude. Grape wants to kill Heron to avenge thier sibling, but ends up getting caught robbing the wrong person and ends up having to join the person's kids adventuring party.
Apple is the oldest drider sibling, and ends up taking a motherly role for all of the younger kids. They had to grow up incredibly fast, and has to make all of the hard decisions in place of thier dying father. Desperately needs a break.
There's more spider siblings but there isn't much info on them
Both Sherry and Theodore Poser are mainly just there because I have them really fun designs and don't really have a personality. Sherry's kinda hard to draw though

“Promise me you’ll be careful”
The words escaped your lips before you even had a chance to stop them. No matter how embarrassing they were, how out of character it was for you to say something like that, the thought of losing Jisung because of a stupid car race scared you to death.
Jisung smiled sweetly, jumping down to the ground from the hood of his car he had been sitting on besides you, with his hands in his pockets, Jisung lifted his eyes from the dusty ground to stare at you. Placing his hands on the hood of the car he managed to trap your legs between them, allowing him to get closer to your face “Are we going to get cheesy now?” He asked smirking, holding back a laugh when he saw you rolling your eyes as a response to his teasing, you honestly were not in the moods for his jokes tonight “It’s not like we’re dating, you rejected my dinner invitation”
“I said I would think about it” You huffed quietly, pushing him away when deep inside you only wanted to pull him closer to you. “Didn’t want to go on a date with you last night just to watch you die on the road tonight”
“I’m not going to die (Y/N), chill” Jisung chuckled, shaking his head as he crossed his arms on his chest “I asked you out yesterday because I felt like doing it” He shrugged playfully, not realizing you were ignoring all his attempts to cheer you up “I thought kissing you before letting you go home would give me some luck for today’s race” He laughed at his own words but it all soon faded when he noticed you didn’t even smile at him. Since you heard his friends Jeongin and Minho talking about how dangerous is opponents were tonight really freaked you out which made you try to convince him not to race but him, being the proud mafia guy he is, would never ever back up from a challenge, not even for you, his biggest crush. “Hey” Jisung’s smile softened and sadness tugged his heart when he saw your eyes getting watery with worried tears, before you could say something or move away to avoid his touch, he pulled you forward into his arms engulfing you with him warm and hot body.
Your hands unconsciously gripped the back of his jacket as you dig your face against the crook of his neck, breathing in his scent “Jisung just back down this one time, please?” You begged, his opponents didn’t like to play clean, they were cheaters and didn’t care about people losing their lives “If you die I will never ever forgive you” You whispered desperate, attempting one last time to keep him safe and sound by your side.
“Let’s do a bet” He proposed with a small, hopeful smile. Maybe if you saw he wasn’t as worried as you were he would calm down “Like the one we did when we met, alright?” He leaned back, both hands cupping your cheeks as he looked into your still sad eyes “If I win, you’ll finally date me and if I lose you’ll never ever talk to me again” Both of you knew there was no losing in this one, he either wins or dies.
“Let me ride with you then”
The determined tone in your voice might have surprised him but it definitely surprised you too. Never have you ever, in all the time Jisung and you have known each other, proposed racing with him. He knew you hated cars and how dangerous they were, you despised and didn’t understand the shot of adrenaline he got whenever he stepped on the gas pedal to fly on the road, dodging other cars, dodging death.
“You’re not coming with me tonight” He shook his head “I’ll let you ride with me in my next race but not in this one” Jisung shook his head, determined to reject your idea
He didn’t know how stubborn you could be when you really wanted something “You either let me ride with you or I’ll ride with that driver over there that hasn’t taken his eyes off me since he got here” Jisung glanced at the guy you were talking about just to realized that indeed, his eyes were glued to the curve of your ass “He’ll say yes before I can even blink” You smirked, pulling your hand up to wave at him with a bright smile, the guy waved back at you almost immediately. “You said you wouldn’t die right? Then take me with you”
Jisung moved away from you frustrated, knowing that the possibility of being seriously injured -if not killed- tonight was pretty high. He knew that you were too stubborn to change your mind once it was set on something and he also felt like even when you would still be in danger, you would be safer in his car besides him rather than riding with some random dude who didn’t know what he was getting himself into. Looking at you, he felt the pressure of having his life in your hands, really making him consider backing up from the race for the first time in his whole life. He didn’t back up because his pride and ego were too big, he wouldn’t back up of the race because even when he was crazily in love with you Jisung wanted to show everybody that he still didn’t have a weakness. You weren’t a weakness for him, you were a reason to be brave and get through every single dangerous obstacle life put on his way.
“Get in the car” Jisung said sighing, running his fingers through his hair as he glanced down at his watch. The race was about to start.
Getting on the passenger side you saw how Jisung casually leaned back against his yellow Lamborghini Aventador, arms crossed on his chest as his eyes followed the car that protected the people he hated the most, an enemy he had since he started ruling these streets. The guys rolled down their windows and smirked when they saw you inside, making you feel slightly intimidated, why did they look so happy? Again, the bad feeling that had only grown worse since you got here, took control of you allowing anxiety to have the spotlight of the moment. Your chest seemed to get heavier and the temperature of your body decreased even when, for some reason, you were sweating as if you were wearing a jumper in the Sahara desert.
“Last chance to join the public” Jisung said with a sympathetic smile as he opened the door of his side. By just taking a look at your face he knew you were scared shitless but the fact that you wanted to take the risk of dying in this car with him tonight meant everything to him. “I won’t be mad if you want to get out of the car (Y/N)” He sat down on the driver’s seat, buckling up right before fixing the reviewer mirror.
“We’re in this together” You muttered clearing your throat, straightening in your seat as you buckled up too “Ride or die, remember?”
“How could I not”
The following minutes passed in slow motion for you. As soon as your eyes spotted the girl standing between the multiple cars prepared for the biggest race tonight, everything around you started moving in a really slow pace increasing the sound of ordinary noises such as your own heartbeat mixed with Jisung’s and yours breathing. You could hear people cheering and making bets incredibly loudly in the background getting hushed just by the roaring engines of the cars, you could smell the gasoline, you could taste the anticipation as you saw her pulling the flag up.
“We’re going to win this and I’m taking you wherever you want in the world (Y/N), you better think of a place during the ride because we’re taking a fucking plane tonight after this”
You looked at Jisung hearing the tension, the fear in his voice. He was not only trying to convince you but also himself about the two of you winning this race. You saw the usual little frown that appeared on his face whenever he got too focused on something, you heard his knuckles tightening around the leather of the steering wheel and then the flag dropped.
Along with your heart. It literally stopped beating.
Your eyes automatically closed when you heard the lamborghini’s engine roar as soon as Jisung stepped down onto the gas pedal, you had been trying to mentally prepare yourself for what was coming, you had tried to look brave for Jisung but you turned into the scaredy cat you were when the car started moving. Your hands were gripping the leather seat, probably ruining it since your nails were digging into it, your back was pressed up against the seat too since the vehicle was going too fast for your body to even move an inch.
Minutes and minutes passed and you refused to open your eyes, sometimes somebody bumped into the car, sometimes Jisung would take sharp turns or even speed up more, the only thing he didn’t do during the entire time was slow down. It wasn’t until you heard him laughing that you were tempted to take a peek of what was going on.
“We’re almost there (Y/N)! We’re almost there!” Jisung shouted laughing, hands still gripping the steering wheel with so much force that his knuckles were turning white.
A genuinely happy smile came up to your lips as you started shouting incoherent stuff with him. None of you knew what the two of you were saying but it was mostly along the lines of ‘fuck yeah!’ or ‘we did it!’. Laughter and happiness filled the car when the two of you heard the cheering of the crowd getting closer and closer, you could even see Chan and the rest of the guys already celebrating Jisung’s victory.
Unfortunately, the problem didn’t came until Jisung stepped on the breaks.
“Jisung?” The two of you were dangerously close to the victory line and Jisung wasn’t slowing down even one bit, you thought he was doing it on purpose, just to show off a bit more or even to let you enjoy the few meters that were left now that your eyes were opened but when you turned to look at him as he frantically stepped on the breaks over and over again, you knew this was it.
It was game over for the two of you.
“I-I don’t know what’s wrong” He stuttered, his body tensing up once again “Everything was going too well...Those motherfuckers probably did this while we weren’t paying attention” Jisung gritted his teeth, pressing the honk so hard that it wouldn’t surprised you if the whole city heard it. People started noticing something was wrong, panick was getting control of the whole situation.
“Now what!? Jisung there’s a lot of people there!” He stayed quiet, looking through his reviewer mirror “Jisung!” You shouted desperate, people were starting to notice he wasn’t slowing down and you could see the uneasy look on their faces.
“We’re going to have to jump” He announced camly “Take off your seatbelt and jump as soon as I tell you to” You looked at him with your eyes open wide, your heart beating a mile per second “It’s going to hurt but you won’t die, I won’t let you” He muttered, eyes glued to the road as he prepared himself for what was coming “(Y/N), I’m not joking, if you don’t jump when I tell you to then you’re not getting out of this one...God fucking dammit!” He screamed hitting the steering wheel, losing his cool for a second
“Okay” You muttered breathlessly “I’ll be fine, I’m going to be okay as long as you are too” Jisung nodded, hearing your seat belt coming off just as he took off his.
“Open your door” He muttered seriously “I’ll jump after you, need to turn the car around so those people there don’t get run over”
“What? You need to jump too Jisung! What if you die! Jisung you ha-”
“Jump! Won’t say it twice (Y/N)!”
The glare he sent your way told you he was being deathly serious and if you wanted the plan to go well you needed to listen to him. Staring at the hard ground for a couple of seconds, you took a deep breath before closing your eyes and letting yourself fall forward out and away of the vehicle.
At first, the shock was so big that no pain came to your body but then as you noticed you were still alive and rolling away on the road, the burning sensation of your skin being scratched and your head getting hit with the floor for a couple of times hit you hard. You let out painful and weak groans, struggling to stand the pain that was overwhelming your body. Eventually you stopped rolling, laying on your back as your head fell to the side just to watch Jisung jump out of the car seconds before it run over his enemy’s car.
Your breath got caught in your lungs when fire painted the dark night sky as soon as the two cars exploded, Jisung was nowhere in sight and you couldn’t find enough strength in your body to stand up and see if he was okay, if he was alive.
“Jisung” You whispered, eyes getting watery as you attempted to sit up but couldn’t “No..no...no” A sob escaped your lungs when your eyes kept staring at the fire hoping to see him, to see something that would tell you he was okay. “Jisung” You tried calling his name louder but it wasn’t loud enough.
Suddenly, as if he had heard you, a shadow appeared in the fire, fighting it’s way through it and towards you. When your eyes went up to the shadow’s face and saw it was Jisung, more sobs escaped your chest simply glad that he was alive.
“(Y/N)!” He shouted, running and kneeling down besides you as soon as he got to you. His hands were on autopilot and before he could think what he was doing, he pulled your upper body up against him, pressing you as hard as he could to his chest “We made it...I told you we would made it!” He looked at you with the sweetest smile on his face, eyes meeting as his thumb wiped away your tears.
“We made it” You repeated chuckling, keeping your arms around him while people started approaching the two of you to check if you were alright
“Ride or die, my love?” He whispered kissing your head “It will always be ride for us, no matter what”

Overthinking Venturiantale 1
Something I find interesting in characters are interactions. The way a character acts around another can be a fantastic way to do show, don’t tell in writing. Especially in Venturiantale, where a lot of characters are threats of varying level of severity. Jimmy Casket, especially.
The way Jimmy’s character is set up, he is permanently connected to someone with authority over a group, and who is trusted to keep people safe. This is a bit of an oxymoron, a murderer being apart of a person trying to keep people safe, but that just adds to it all.
So, of course, he has fun interactions.
With Toast, with Ghost, with the police- most of them end with violence (especially the latter) but still it’s interesting to see how his character differs between interpretations.
However, I can’t help but notice there is a common occurrence when Spooker meets Casket. Spooker is scared, and in danger. Or oblivious, and in danger. This seems to be repetitive and common in interpretation, and usually ends with Spooker dying and his character being abandoned for the rest of the fic, or he gets really scared and no ones cares about how he feels aside from a few “oh this really is scary” lines or something like that.
(It’s likely this event won’t give him lasting trauma, but if it does it won’t be important to the plot and the story wouldn’t be about fixing it. In fact his (valid) discomfort of his boss could be used as another way to spin how Ghost is so alone in this story and how nobody trusts him. But then Spooker is the ‘bad guy’ for not trusting the man inhabiting the same body of someone who tried to kill him, but I digress.)
Today I would like to give another way to interpret how a Spooker and Casket meeting might go, because I recently remembered something about Spooker! I would also like to specify that this argument is more steered toward focus where death is a prevalent issue and respawns are not a common occurrence, though this can be used with likely more sense to them in respawn-holding fics as well.
Spooker isn’t the biggest scaredy-cat in the world. Like, sure, he’s had instances where he’s been terrified over nothing, but he’s also had instances where he’s barely blinked at danger. He was scared of the ghost children in his intro video, but even upon from hearing the man, who he has thus far trusted, that something was demonic and could kill everybody on the planet, he was calm about it. He didn’t immediately scream and run away, he stood his ground and continued to press his curiosity for a bit longer, this being— if memory serves— one of the only (or first) times he really pushed against Ghost in the video.
This could be for two reasons: one, the simple one, Spooker is being stupid and doesn’t understand, even with Ghost’s panicked explanation, how dangerous it is.
Two, the fun one: Spooker fully understands how dangerous this demon is, but also is full aware that everything Ghost warned about happening likely wouldn’t for various reasons Ghost probably never considered. Maybe the fact that the demon is centralized around a single building and has had 80% of their captured souls banished to various dimensions before this point? Maybe his dad introduced him to demons in the past and he understands that, like bees, if you don’t piss off certain demons, they won’t react. Ghost never took the time to find out what demon it was past the level, maybe Spooker was curious whether what kind of demon it was would change how they dealt with it.
Whatever the case is I’m already getting off topic. There could always be more options to this, but these are the ones most likely to me now.
Anyways, This is the first time we see Spooker stare down danger smiling. The second time would have to be several times in his second appearance. Specifically, the time his dad set a kitchen on fire with people inside it, burning them all to death. Spooker was unfazed, and rather happy. Things like this show us that Spooker can ignore fear of dangers, such as fire and demons, if he can reason why it’s safe. The fire is controlled by his dad, and his dad wouldn’t want to hurt him. Demons are a type of monster that he has a base understanding of, even if he hasn’t met a demon before, he credited a horror movie with a demonic antagonist as his experience to the paranormal industry. Ghost Children and a whole ritual thing he seems to have never heard of before is probably not high on the list of things he knows enough to feel familiar with.
So, Spooker isn’t too scared of things he understands at least a bit! This basically makes Casket a non-threat to him. For start, Casket is wearing Johnny Ghost’s skin, basically. His appearance is familiar, and while some of his actions are not, I can’t say his actions are entirely unfamiliar. Ghost is well known for acting a bit spontaneously and differently in his behavior, especially under stress. We’ve seen a spectrum range of emotions from Ghost under pressure that never lead to a Casket arrival. Finally, murder is a common thing in the Venturiantale Universe, and knowing Chackalatta got banished to a pocket dimension for killing people, there’s no way Spooker hasn’t seen a couple of close calls. Also, there’s a reason Spooker’s last name is Soup, he was probably raised in Chackalatta’s kitchen. There’s no way this kid isn’t familiar with knives. (Plus the man literally said he had always wanted to be a ghost. If Casket DID kill him, there’s nothing stopping him from just thanking the guy.)
So, in terms of familiarity, Spooker kind of has nothing to fear! The only time Spooker has actually met Casket though— from what i can remember— was during the Puppet Arc and that’s kind of up in the air on whether or not that actually happened (I lean more toward yes tbh).
This brings me back to interactions. The interactions between Spooker and Jimmy have grown scarily predictable in where they’re going to go. I can’t expect Spooker to properly stand up for himself and unless someone else intervenes, Spooker is likely to become horrified or remain oblivious to the situation, and will ultimately be stabbed. While Spooker being able to face situation calmly is what i most spoke of in this, I would love it if there were other interpretations to his behavior to Casket. Spooker is friendly, what if he extended this friendly attitude to someone he knew was dangerous? Spooker has a tendency for things to go okay for him in the end, what if he survived a Scooby-Doo-like chase scene with Casket, maybe even managing to stop him by accident.
Whatever the case, I’m just getting sick of their interactions as they are now. A lot of them are pretty obviously made by people who dislike him, though i suppose that’s better than pretending he doesn’t exist.
Conclusion: I spent too much time on this. I have a lot to say about very little and this probably don’t make any sense anymore... Please consider fiddling with characterization, though?

five anons on the MFE pilots
Opinions on the... very heavy emphasis on the new characters introduced in VLD s7?
Tumblr media
...this business with introducing the GG cadets, paired with the possibility that they might attempt a spinoff with them reminds me of how they handled Voltron Force, the series previous. Not sure how familiar you are with it, but it also featured new cadets alongside the OG cast, posed them as "the next gen", and were originally supposed to be the stars of their own series entirely. Obviously the execs didn't like that very much in the end, and morphed the project into a direct DotU continuation, dropping two out of five pilots and putting the original team back in (and it shows somewhat in the writing) but it's interesting how convergent evolution might happen in the end with DW.
I suspect this is why every new Gundam series starts with its own premise, world, and characters: because you get attached to certain protagonists, and (especially in well-written, character-driven stories) those protagonists become what propels you through the story. My guess would be it’s less the execs’ personal preference (or else they wouldn’t have greenlit the spinoff in the first place), and more their recognition of audience disinterest.
This is not to say you can’t do a spin-off, but you need to look at the franchises that managed it successfully. When Star Wars kicked off again with TFA, we got a full introduction to the new characters --- and then old faces reappeared, but they were now in support roles. The original cast all had solid closure in the original trilogy, which made their appearances (among others) in the new movie feel like passing the baton to the next generation.
Korra followed the same template, with the previous generation making appearances, but not dominating. (I haven’t seen any of Boruto, but from what I’ve caught, it seems the story keeps circling back to the first generation cast.) Even Star Trek found ways to bring in its original cast to its first television spin-off (I mean, literally ‘next generation’).
There’s something to unpack in the way these stories successfully shifted the audience’s loyalties to the new generation of characters. In particular, that none introduced the new generation until the first one had full closure -- and having done so, then the first generation remained part of the world, but not in the forefront. I never saw VF, but if they tried to jump-start a new story without even recognizing the original cast, I’d mark that down as the biggest error.
I'm wondering if they're going to try and use the new cadet characters as the pitch characters for Vehicle Voltron... doubtful, but the thought makes me giggle.
Okay, I take that back. Introducing the MFE pilots in the first iteration -- before the first story has wrapped -- is a much larger error. It’s premature, and it comes across almost as impatience for the (current) story to be done.
It’d be one thing if the MFE pilots were simply background voices, not even given full names, or even names at all. Let them be easter eggs, for audiences to look back and find their earliest appearance, unremarked-upon (as someone already has, looking back to the pilot to find one of them, iirc).
That note of impatience --- right as the main protagonists’ stories should be coming to closure --- is destructive. It’s hard to root for new protagonists when they’re simultaneously stealing screen-time from the very characters and conflicts we’ve been invested in for 60+ episodes so far. I would not be surprised if that dislike is hard to overcome, if DW were to introduce a spin-off.
Did DW know about the MFE pilots? How much screentime they were gonna get and ... made [the paladins] look like incompetent children? Did they know or did they see the final product & were ???? EPs clearly don't care for VLD’s story, as it’s not their story, [and they] broke it to get what they wanted, then proceeded to kick the pieces aside to make room for MFE pilots who were clearly the team they wanted so they can get spinoff greenlit & tell their own story. But DW?
It’s an open question, because it requires knowing how much oversight VLD’s really gotten. My understanding is that a pitch is often rather glossy. The EPs may never even seen reason to mention Adam would later die in a pointless battle. That battle, and the new pilots, were probably introduced with little more than, “and then the paladins get to earth and rejoin their old classmates, who’ve graduated into being fighter pilots, and will be Voltron’s support forces just like the rebels were at the end of S4.”
That parallel is accurate, at least in the broad strokes. In the particulars, it’s wildly off, since we only got first names for maybe three or four rebels? Seeing how many bit the dust in S4′s finale, that could’ve been an immensely more powerful two-parter had we been given reason to care about any of them.
I kept wondering why are we spending SO much time with the MFE pilots (& GG), 1/3 of the season! With them acting more competent than the (orange clad) Voltron team who just y'know, had been fighting (and winning) a war in space for years. And they STILL all felt flat, unlike our team where they all got us hooked instantly. Now we know the EPs vision of VLD was this team, and they’re willing to ruin VLD so they can get their own team off the ground in a new series. With terrible writing, of course.
Seeing the paladins --- with or without their lions --- put back in cadet orange felt like a slap. Seeing Allura in cadet orange was outright being punched. The woman whose father designed the damn castle, and Coran as the man whose grandfather built the damn thing, and they’re both in cadet orange?
The Garrison’s leaders should’ve been on their knees thanking the Alteans for lending their knowledge and technology to Earth’s cause, not treating then like random aliens who tagged along. The Blades may be a badly-used sub-plot, but at least Kolivan had the respect to bow when he met the princess. Out of respect for her family --- and her loss --- if nothing else.
Beyond that, the entire point of coming home --- in terms of story structure --- is to show how much the characters have (theoretically) grown, now that they’re nearing the end of their story. Putting all the focus on new characters stole the current characters’ thunder, and removed too many of their chances to shine.
What should’ve been a triumphant return home became more of a case of the protagonists getting put in their place. The point of a story is to show how the protagonists outgrow their original world --- and their original concepts of themselves as the scaredy-cat, the too-young nerd, the insecure wannabe, the angry loner, the broken soldier. Their progression through a story is their path of becoming stronger and better. Not to end by sliding back into their original spots as if the intervening six seasons had taught them nothing.

Ok I'm starting to feel like I'm using you for your wonderful writing skills but your fics are always so PERFECT & I just cAN'T HELP MYSELF I'M SORRY plz send help; anyway, what about sterek + “i’m sorry i kicked you in my scared haze in the haunted house, can i do something to make it up to you?” au?
Sorry this took so long, but who doesn’t like Halloween fics in the middle of January? Also on ao3!
Stiles had no idea why he kept letting himself be dragged into these kinds of situations. Then he remembered that he and Scott had known each other for literally their entire lives and it made a little bit more sense. Not much, but enough.
Enough to remind him why he went along with Scott's asinine attempts at wooing Allison and getting off the bench at lacrosse practice. Enough to remind him why once he got his driver's license he played chauffeur for Scott and Allison on almost all of their dates.
But it didn't make enough sense for him not to be suspicious when Scott came to him and asked for a ride to the high school's annual haunted house.
For the past three years of their high school careers, Scott had never once shown any interest whatsoever in going to the haunted house. He always said it was too childish, that he would much rather stay home and watch Halloween specials.
Stiles had a feeling that Scott's sudden desire to attend the Halloween tradition had something to do with Allison. And his dad had always taught him to trust his instincts.
Sure enough, when Stiles had pressed Scott about why exactly he wanted to go, the first word out of his mouth had been, Allison. Stiles didn't even pretend to be surprised.
Apparently, Scott's plan was to impress Allison by showing off how brave he was at the haunted house, all the students assured that this year it would be genuinely scary. Utilizing the same technique as people who took their dates to see horror movies in hopes of being the one their terrified date could cuddle up to, Scott planned to be the big, strong man whose arms Allison could fall into.
It was doomed to fail.
Because nevermind the fact that Allison was one of the most badass people Stiles had ever met, going on hunting trips with her dad every other weekend and starting an archery club at the school, that wasn't why the plan was destined for failure. It was going to fail because Scott was one of the biggest scaredy cats the world had ever known.
Just last week, he had almost fainted when Stiles had gotten a paper cut in English class, the mere sight of a few droplets of blood nearly sending him right to the floor. A few days before that he had gotten woozy from seeing a particularly rare piece of rib eye, blanching at the sight of dinner Stiles had slaved over for hours, just picking at a baked potato instead.
Stiles had told Scott as much, detailing all the times, just that week, that he had been scared shitless by the most plebeian, unassuming everyday things. From the microwave beeping to a dog barking in the middle of the night, Stiles had listed them in order of occurrence, going on for several minutes before Scott finally cut him off.
Invoking the bro code, Scott pleaded for Stiles to just come along with them, desperately in need of a ride with his mom using the car for work and his dirt bike on the fritz. After a few minutes of deliberation, Stiles had finally agreed to drive them to the haunted house, figuring he might get a little bit of entertainment out of it if Scott did, in fact, make a fool of himself.
Now, walking through the fog filled main hallway of the school which had been decked out in orange and black Halloween decorations, all by himself, he was regretting his decision.
After picking up Allison, her dad glaring daggers at him and Scott as though worried they were picking his daughter up for a threesome, they had driven over to the school. The outside of the building didn't look much different, a few fake cobwebs tossed over the shrubbery and windows and a large banner announcing the runtime of the haunted house.
At first, entering through the back entrance of the school, the haunted house had been just as boring and campy as Stiles had expected. Student and teacher volunteers randomly popped out of classrooms in cheap dollar store costumes to make people jump, the PA system playing spooky sound effect tracks full of thunder cracks and howling wolves.
He followed closely behind Scott and Allison, tapping his fingers against the spare inhaler he always carried with him just in case Scott had an asthma attack, hoping nothing scared him enough to trigger an episode. Because as they progressed through the school, it got darker, the scares more genuine, the decorations more gruesome.
The lights were completely shut off, plunging the hallways into complete and total darkness. It was deathly silent, the artificial sounds fading away as they walked further through the hall. Along the locker-lined walls, oddly real decorations adorned the hallway, raising the hair on the back of his neck.
Stiles had paused to investigate a smudge of disturbingly realistic blood on a locker when Scott and Allison apparently decided to ditch him. When he turned back around, they were both gone, leaving him all alone in the quiet, foggy hallway.
Cursing his friends for being such assholes, especially since he was their ride home, Stiles apprehensively continued on through the hallway. He didn't put it past Scott and Allison to try to scare him themselves, resigning himself to being the victim of some half-assed prank.
He just wanted to make it through the rest of the haunted house and go home, hoping to beat his dad to the leftover candy from the bowl they left on their porch for trick or treaters. But with his luck, his dad had already decimated the bowl and all he was doing was walking further and further away from the exit, stuck in the maze of hallways.
Sites was waiting for someone to jump out at him, glancing nervously at every door and alcove in the hall, chewing his lip. He was prepared for someone in a cheap mummy costume to pop out at him, someone dressed as Dracula or Frankenstein to scream boo!
He wasn't prepared for a werewolf.
It leapt out at him from around a corner, tucked out of sight until Stiles got closer, springing out from the shadows. A vicious growl bubbled up out of its throat as it swiped a clawed hand at him, narrowly avoiding slashing his throat.
Stiles shrieked in terror at the sight of flashing yellow eyes and fangs dripping with shiny spit, taking a few steps back in shock. Scared out of his mind, acting purely on instinct, Stiles did the only thing that he could think of and kicked the werewolf right between the legs.
The werewolf fell to its knees with a pained whimper, furry hands cupping its crotch. Furry hands which Stiles suddenly realized were gloves, fake black fur on plastic, the claws actually blunt white rubber.
Just like he realized that the werewolf's snarling face was merely a mask, albeit an extremely realistic one.
The bared teeth he had been worried would rip his throat out were nothing more than painted rubber fangs. The flashing eyes that had petrified him so much were just little yellow LED lights, the only source of light in the dim hallway.
Stiles could feel the blood drain out of his face as he abruptly realized that he had just kicked some poor person between the legs. He felt like he was going to throw up when, through grit teeth, the werewolf wheezed in a painfully familiar voice, "Jesus Christ, Stiles!"
Wincing, Stiles shook himself out of his stupor and rushed to the werewolf's side, dropping to his knees beside them. He reached over to yank off the hyper-realistic mask to confirm his worst fear ― he had just kicked his long time crush, Derek Hale, right in the nuts.
He had met Derek two years prior at the vet clinic while he had been waiting to pick Scott up after his shift. Derek had rushed into the reception area holding a small gray kitten in his hands, announcing he had found it on the side of the road and just wanted to make sure it was alright.
Stiles had been gone for him ever since.
"Oh my god, Derek!" Stiles gasped, tossing the grotesque mask over his shoulder, ignoring it as it thumped against the tiled floor. Laying a hand on Derek's shoulder, curling his fingers into the sleeve of Derek's shirt, he apologized, "I'm so sorry! I didn't know it was you! Not that I would've wanted to kick someone else! You were wearing that mask, which kudos to you is like super realistic! Did your sister make it? Because I know she's really into art and SFX makeup and stuff, so―"
"Stiles," Derek snapped through grit teeth, immediately silencing Stiles' rant before it could stretch out into something longer and more convoluted. Stiles snapped his mouth closed with a click, miming zipping his lips and throwing the key away, well aware of how annoying his rambling could be.
Forehead furrowed while he clutched his poor balls through his jeans, Derek let out another whine of pain, the sound driving a knife through Stiles' heart. Tightening his grip on Derek's shirt, Stiles leaned closer and murmured, "I'm sorry, Derek. I'm so sorry."
"It's fine, Stiles," Derek grit out, breathing deeply through his nose to help alleviate the pain, a muscle in his jaw twitching. As though trying to convince both himself and Stiles, Derek repeated himself, mumbling, "It's fine."
Squeezing Derek's arm with one hand, Stiles tentatively ran his fingers through Derek's hair, brushing a few strands off his forehead. Smoothing out the furrow between Derek's brows, Stiles wondered aloud, "Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?"
Catching a glimpse of a shy smile stretching over Derek's face, Stiles smiled himself, glad to see that Derek wasn't too furious with him. Running his hand over Derek's arm, Stiles insisted, "I mean it. Anything."
"Well, there is one thing," Derek announced, tilting his head up to meet Stiles' eyes, thankfully looking much less pained. Stiles just nodded eagerly, prompting Derek to casually suggest, "You could kiss it better?"
Stiles froze. Had Derek really just suggested something so crass? Was he really implying that Stiles should kiss him down there?
He yanked his hands back, severing all physical contact between him and Derek, jumping to his feet. He took a few steps back, wide eyes darting between Derek's face and his crotch where his gloved hands were still cupping his abused junk.
Curling his hands into fists at his sides, Stiles narrowed his eyes, feeling his face flush in humiliation as he watched the smile fall from Derek's face. He was sorely tempted to give Derek another kick in the balls, instead simply snarling, "Excuse me?!"
Apparently realizing what he had just implied, Derek raised his palms, looking horrified by his own words. Shaking his head, he insisted, "No! No, no, no! That's not what I meant! I just-I just meant―"
"What?" Stiles pressed, taking a step closer to Derek. "What did you mean?"
Derek's eyes immediately shot down to the floor, faking sudden interest in the pattern of the tiles. A light flush coloring his cheeks, he reluctantly admitted, "Maybe like...a kiss on the cheek...?"
"Oh," Stiles said simply, at a loss for words. He hadn't been expecting that.
Deflating as every last trace of anger seeped out his body, Stiles bit his lower lip, thinking about his next move. Feeling his own cheeks fill with heat, he formulated a plan he hoped wouldn't backfire, cautiously kneeling back down beside Derek.
"Forget about it," Derek muttered quietly, turning his head to avoid meeting Stiles' eyes, shifting to sit on his butt on the cold tiled floor. Hugging his knees to his chest, tucking his face against his legs, he miserably claimed, "It was stupi―"
Stiles cut him off with a kiss, cupping his cheek with one hand to turn Derek's head back towards him, tugging him closer with a hand fisted in the front of his shirt as he pressed their lips together on pure impulse. Derek hesitated for a moment before responding, curling a gloved hand around the back of Stiles' neck to haul him closer.
Stiles sighed almost dreamily against Derek's lips, having never even dared to hope that his first kiss could be with his crush. He shuffled even closer to Derek, wrapping an arm around his shoulders just so he would know what it was like to hold Derek.
He hummed high in his throat when Derek teased his bottom lip with a hint of tongue, swiping it across the seam of his lips in a barely-there glide. Kissing Derek was something he could easily become addicted to.
Reluctantly breaking the kiss to get some air, Stiles licked his lips, eyes still closed as he willed his brain to come back online. He could feel Derek's warm breath on his lips as they both panted a bit, winded from the admittedly short kiss.
"Better?" Stiles whispered as he slowly opened his eyes, unable to keep from feeling rather proud of the more pronounced blush on Derek's high cheekbones. He brushed the pad of his thumb over the pink cheek, feeling the slight prickle of stubble against his skin.
"Mmm... Much," Derek answered with a devious little smirk curling his lips to the side, the sight somehow infatuating Stiles even more than he already was. He opened his eyes a moment later, looking up at Stiles with a kaleidoscope of colors glittering in his irises.
"Go out with me."
They both paused, looking at each other in awe and confusion, having both blurted out the same thing at exactly the same time.
Stiles broke first, ducking his head and laughing at their simultaneously request. Raising his head, he nodded and announced, "Okay. How about next Friday at seven? You can pick me up at my house in your leather jacket."
"Alright," Derek readily agreed, grinning widely before leaning in for another quick kiss. It was merely a peck on the lips, a fleeting bit of contact that nonetheless filled both their cheeks with heat.
"So," Stiles began, scratching his nails through the hairs at the back of Derek's neck. "How the hell do I get out of here?"
