ok i keep forgetting to like actually do stuff on here but while ive been procrastinating on the tfp rewatch i have started watching. the unicron trilogy and i just finished armada. i dunno how to share my thoughts exactly but man was that a ride and i ultimately enjoyed it. i miss watching shows but now i need to either start. watching energon, talk to someone about the show, or watch someone else talk about the show while i work on oc refs or something but i also dont want to get spoiled for later

Scar feels like he'd love cuddles but only if it's certain people. Here's who I think he'd love to cuddle:

Cub. Cub is big and soft and warm. He's like a pillow to scar.

Stress. Similar to cub- soft and warm. Perfect for cuddles. And she loves cuddles too. Iskall won't let her cuddle him very much but scar is the fellow cuddler on the server.

Mumbo. Mumbo is a stick and Scar can easily wrap himself around the man. Extra tight cuddles and hugs.

Gem. Gem loves being the big spoon and Scar loves how warm she runs. She's like his personal back warmer.

Skizz. Skizz is just a very comforting presence. Scar likes that.

Bonus list of people he won't touch with a ten foot pole:

Grian. That man kicks in his sleep. Scar will not go through that again.

Xisuma. He won't take off that armor for anything. You'd get bruises everywhere if you tried to cuddle him.

Joel. He won't shut up about Etho and how obsessed etho is with him.

hey bee, i wanna understand the watcher lore. can you help point me to the right place for it? or explain it, if it isnt too complicated?

here's where i say "it kind of doesn't actually matter".

hear me out: the thing is that if you are hanging out in the fandom, the watcher lore the fandom uses is like... a fandom invention. i've compared it to a sentinel/guide au before. it's not actually... a thing that is all that closely related to what happened in evo from my understanding.

like, the watcher stuff originally comes from the evo smp, an older smp of grian's. they were deities that ambiguously were also the audience, and liked to punish people being mean and give players weird riddles to solve. at the end of evo, grian joins them. also from evo are the listeners, who are enemies of the watchers (maybe defected watchers themselves? this seems unclear to me) that contacted jimmy and martyn, but largely only worked with jimmy.

the OTHER canon watcher stuff is "whatever martyn is doing over there with his own watcher lore", which i am sure someone who is much more of a martyn guy than me can give you a summary of. it's something along the lines of "watchers feed on emotions/are running the life series". he has explicitly stated that's only canon for him, however.

but MOSTLY? watchers are a collective fanon au that you can kind of use for whatever you need them for. as general rule they TEND to be evil (but not always), grian is one of them (and whether or not he has defected from them is a point in order in the fic), the fanon likes giving them a general biblical angel appearance, purple color, and mask (although ALSO not always; there's basically always either eye imagery or a mask though), they can be a stand-in for the audience or the pressures of being a creator (although not everyone does this), and frequently they have something to do with the life series (though not always). they're useful both as "i want something to be blatantly metaphorical for the audience" and "i need a deity/antagonistic force for my story" most of the time, and also for the ever-present grian angst.

they're fun to mess around with in my opinion! but also in my opinion if you're only writing hermitcraft stuff it's like... not really worth Worrying about "understanding watcher lore" because there isn't actually that much of it that's canon, most of it is just... stuff the fandom likes to do with it, you know?

Trafficblr.... may I ask why are we in the habit of crosstagging every single Life series in the tags, when your fanart is only for 1 series in particular? Why is there 3rd life stuff in the Double life tag? Secret Life in the Lim Life tag? Last Life in the 3rd Life tag?? Etc etc?? Each season is unique enough that some of the vibes kind of directly counter each other.

It makes it really hard if you're hankering for content from a specific series, and the tag is cluttered w/ stuff from Every other series that is otherwise completely unrelated.

i decided to be insane while i wait for the Methylphenidate pill to hit (i was thought to have adhd and still have some leftovers from trying to treat that) so i can study. so i made a list of what i think are kins? i refuse to look up what that actually means so im going by the context that a thousand years of reading tumblr posts on pintrest gave me.

Okay! so:

Kinger is a new one, he seems like such a funny silly guy who is kind of out of it, something i absolutely get! so he goes there.

Izzy Hands has been a cause of insanity for me since season one, but season two got me worse. what a funny fellow. i get the whole being a tryhard thing, and sort of losing it a bit over having to change your ways. havent had to eat own my toes, lost a leg or done drag while singing in french, so those things i just find amusing.

Peter B. Parker! what a funny guy, i didnt expect him to actually come back on the second spiderverse movie. being a cool mentor is something admirable i think, and the scene with aunt may made me spend way too many hours on ao3 as i thought that could have been more of a thing (in my head the movie would have done well as a series, more time to explore the really cool characters they had). Also: him being a version of spiderman ''were things didnt go well'' that doesnt go in a morbid direction is very baller.

Doctor Twobrains i only know of from fandom osmosis. i did watch the series as a kid, but i really cant remember shit. the rat brain is funny, and i love anything involving inventors with a theme (i had to fight myself a few too many times to not include doofenshmirtz). the manerisms and vibe are very silly, the excentricities vibe with me.

Agent Stone was the only reason i watched the sonic movie. i saw a trailer and thought, huh i dont think i remember ever seeing this fellow on anything sonic. turns out, he was a new character and very, very funny. what a guy! i can imagine going that far being a henchman. i, however, do have a deep hatred against the guy that does robotnick, so i havent seen much else other than the first film (that i very much pirated).

Pyro is such a mistery. they just burn things and act jolly, the whole pyroland thing is also so stupid. i mained him when i played tf2, but for now i just save fanart of her burning shit and think about how cool it'd be to have a full body suit, be unintelligible and get to burn stuff. absolute 10/10.

Hazel from The Umbrella Academy was fun while he lasted. The idea of being a time traveling mercenary and still getting shitty hotel rooms is hilarious to me. made me really want to get suspenders, but i dont think that'll happen.

Scar (from Hermitcraft) is such a chaotically silly guy. i wish i could pull that off. going from scam, to huge incredible creations, to changing allies on a dime, to playing games by any other rules than the ones stabilished? i wish i could do that! btw the fanart is by reddit user dead_cricket_ (i didnt want to use a minecraft skin but wanted to make sure that I AM TALKING ABOUT THE FANON CHARACTER NOT THE REAL DUDE THAT MAKES VIDEOS)

Elliot Gussman from The Umbrella Academy was also fun while he lasted. i also have some really, really weird paranoia problems and would act the same if i had alien strangers in my house. there isnt a lot of fandom stuff on him, as he's such a minor character, so i just juggle a few too many head canons on this silly guy.

Aziraphale. hehe. haha. im absolutely normal about this guy. being an angel and having the ideology of heaven hammered into your head, and complying with things you know you shouldnt because you know the consequences and that theres someone all-seeing always watching you? i get that 100%. Two other things: the constant forced smiles that are clearly unnatural and doing silly things you know you arent good at are also relatable.

i really like Abner Krill. this is so long already, but i just, really like him. i wish he didnt get killed, that movie is my favourite and i wish it could get a sequel. i'll be short on the whole thing by saying that being the weirdest one on a bunch of batman villans is very funny, and his powers are very fucked up in a cool way.

Oswald Cobblepot was the only reason i saw Gothan. him going from just a guy to.. The Penguin?? absolutely crazy. i really got the whole bit where he was getting higher on the crime scene by biting small bits and getting big results.

pause has talked about it on stream before !!! he updated the !teamcanada command all the way back 2 months after etho came out of hiatus iirc

basically the situation is that beef and pause have collabed yes yes and beef and etho have done stuff together because hermits

but the reason tc isnt doing stuff is because etho n beef are busy with hermitcraft and other projects and now pause has a full time job so schedules are all over the place !!!! pause had said multiple times he'd love to do stuff with beef and etho again, its just that their schedules are all over so they cant find time anymore

they very much all miss each other though. back in the mindcrack uhc that happened in october, pause and beef were teamed and they made 'almost team canada' jokes. the other day beef and etho were playing 2v2 tcg and, once again, made 'almost team canada' jokes. they still very much miss each other and theres definitely no bad blood between them that has been shown currently, so theres always still a chance they WILL do a video again

I think I asked earlier and I forgot the answer or maybe you hadn’t decided yet, but you recently mentioned the difference between spawned players and born players again. I think you mentioned spawned players are more common - are any of the people we know and love (hermits or otherwise) born rather than spawned? Or are they all spawned??

I’m fascinated by the concept of spawned vs born players actually, and the way you said they’d have to get a comm specially made and fitted. Is there a minimum age a player needs to be for this? Actually what’s the lifespan of a player like, and how old are born players and spawned players each when they reach a similar developmental stage? I presume it’s different because spawned players are in a single player world alone whereas I assume born players are babies and thus need caring for?? Or how does that work.

I’m just. Fascinated anew by this concept which I had forgotten about until you mentioned it haha.

As for the stuff that isnt included in that post, i'd say that yes, you do need to be of a certain age to get fitted with a comm-- im not quite sure what the requirement is, but its probably around when you first hit the double digits, maybe about 10ish?? Culturally it depends on the Player's parents/caretakers, but i think most born Players get their comms around ages 12-14.

Lifespan for Players is on the same level as arctic sponges here-- they live for a while before their code begins to destabilize of natural causes. Thousands of years at least. This is a pretty young universe relatively speaking, so several of the oldest Players who first spawned in are actually still around!!!

There are only two born Players on Hermitcraft, and those are Joe Hills and TFC. Mostly for vibes, and because the idea of the oldest looking hermit being technically younger than several of the others highly amuses me. Everyone else spawned in!! Since born Players are such a minority, it felt right to keep everyone else in the cast as spawned Players :]

help me, how do i start watching hermitcraft... its so daunting and i tried starting at the last epsiode of season 9 and i find myself so confused and i feel like im missing stuff auhguhruhghgurhgurhurhguhghurhgurgh

if you really want to be filled in on everything from season 9 so far, i recommend binging the recap channel— you may recognize the voice of pixlriffs, also well known as an empires member, who was recently on the hc server himself! you could probably also skim the wiki if you want but also, season 9 has now been going for a solid ten months, so there is a lot of content to catch up on. thankfully, you dont need to! yeah, its confusing at first, but you could honestly just pick up with the latest episodes of like one or two hermits and after a couple weeks you should have a decent idea of what's going on :) i dropped in near the very end of season 7 myself, and while it took me a bit, i caught on! reminder that unlike a couple other popular smps, hermitcraft isnt really lore or story focused. its more about friends building and goofing off together! there are stories too (this season's king ren plot, season 8's ending, season 7's mayoral race and turf war, etc etc) but they arent the main focus, and you won't have a heavily diminished experience from not knowing much. tl;dr: just have fun with it! don't worry about lack of knowledge— ive never seen someone in the fan space make fun of another for not knowing the plot, we're all just here to watch our favorite mc personalities and have fun :]

hiii! im [insert name here]: a stereotypical AuDHD trans girl who still hasn't settled on a name yet-- my life isnt... going well rn, but tumblr makes it a bit more bearable and every little bit helps.

im a trans fem, more specifically i like the term demigirl- which feels like it fits me. im also ace(ish), by which i mean im ace but pretty sex favorable- just don't experience sexual attraction. im also very gay and have the best partner in the whole entire universe (they said they were gonna join tumblr soon- so ill at them here once she does.)

oh yeah and my brain is funky. im a peer reviewed (and officially dxed, but im an advocate of self diagnosis) AuDHDer- which informs basically everything i do. i also have a bunch of the mental illness stuff, and have struggled w it a lot. idrk or care what the exact diagnosis is, spend enough time around insane ppl and you learn a lot of the specific labels are pretty arbitrary and a lot of symptoms are shared- i just describe myself as fucked in the head or legitimately insane

even though im solidly gen z, i havent really grown up on the internet the same way. some weird combination of my parents' disapproval of it, social anxiety, autism, and not being allowed to use it for years means that ive had this fear of posting stuff on the internet. for so many people like me the internet has been a place to escape and be themself, to me it's more often than not just a reflection of a reality that seems just as scary and ostracizing.

the thing is... i dont have a lot of friends. i dont have a large community really. and i think though there are some ways in which my aversion to social interactions including those on the internet has been helpful, there are other ways it's really isolated me- both from my peers and a broader community of people.

Alright, I have Feelings about Dasira, but I’m mostly going to be talking about it in an aromantic way, because I am not the person who knows enough to talk about TMA and cops. (But I will say that if one more person headcanons Daisy with BPD I am going to Die, please Stop.)

So, as an aromantic person, I appreciate that canon!Dasira is completely platonic. They absolutely suck ✨ platonically ✨. They’re a toxic ✨ platonic ✨ relationship. Basira has double standards about Daisy killing people versus Jon taking people’s statements, but her feelings for Daisy are completely platonic.

Yes, queer romantic relationships are important in fiction, I acknowledge this and I’m not going to say it doesn’t give me warm fuzzy feelings to have queer romance be a thing, I love it as much as the next person, but as an aromantic person, I absolutely adore how Daisy and Basira can be so devoted to each other — to the point of it being harmful to the people around them, don’t think I have forgotten — and have the relationship still be completely platonic.

I have a problem with the TMA fandom and how a lot of people just sort of… assume romantic!Dasira is canon, when it’s not. Some of my favourite fic authors are guilty of this (I will not name names because. No. They’re lovely. I don’t know if I have the power to make people do anon hate and I don’t want to find out), and it’s just… hhh. It makes me annoyed. Ship and Let Ship, yeah yeah, but also, aaa, just. It doesn’t sit well with me, personally.

Also, not the right person to be talking on this, but while I really like Daisy’s redemption (?) arc and the message of forgiveness not being necessary but trying to do better being necessary, I… hm. Idk. I just don’t want to say something wrong, so I tend to just stay away from Daisy and Basira as characters. Don’t have much experience with it and have not done enough reading on it.

etho died before bdubs right, so in my headcanons he was back on hermitcraft first

i like to think that when he's having Emotions he sort of shuts down, especially when left to his own devices. he just does not know what to do or how to handle it, at all. he simply Doesn't Handle It

because bdubs is way more expressive than he is with his emotions, etho believes everything impacts bdubs More Intensely. so while shutting down about everything, he was scrambling for something to grab onto, a way to handle it, and he thought 'if it's got me this upset bdubs is going to have the worst time when he comes back'

when upset he likes Doing Something to Fix The Problem. and he wanted to fix the problem of bdubs being upset. so he went and he got bdubs a clock, a freshly made one

then more people came back and bdubs didn't

with every new person back etho was freaking out more. he saw what winning did to grian, how remembring everything destroys you, and he didn't think bdubs could handle remembering everything. even the vague fuzzy glimpses into what happened was just too much for Etho, bdubs couldn't handle remembering everything. etho couldn't handle it if Bdubs couldn't, he couldn't handle it if bdubs broke on him, he needed bdubs

so he went until he found a group of untamed horses somewhere in a planes, and tamed every single one to figure out the fastest. by the time he was done and riding it back, bdubs was back

which was great because etho knew he hadnt won and also kept himself together while he waited (he knew if he fell apart bdubs would too, and he needed bdubs to be okay he needed that)

also horrible because now bdubs didnt have him there and oh he made a mistake and oh this horse isnt as fast as flying

and bdubs was in fact breaking down about everything. he came back and immediately just got hit with everything he was able to remember about what happened with him and etho. (what he didn't remember scared him most, he did all these horrible things and his brain just couldn't stop thinking about what other horrible things he might've done)

and etho wasn't there and bdubs wasn't put together enough to check his communicator and see etho messaged him that he's on his way. etho just wasn't there and definitely hated bdubs now. bdubs ruined everything over such stupid stuff

and then bdubs heard hoofbeats. he looked up and saw etho coming in on a horse. saw how etho scrambled off of it desperately and shoved the reigns in his direction. how he fumbled as he grabbed out the clock he made.

etho didn't say anything. he couldn't think of what to say and didn't think he could talk if he tried

but bdubs understood

he understood that etho meant 'i love you. im not upset with you. i love you. its okay. i love you. we're okay. i love you. i love you. i love you.'

things werent okay. but they were okay.

in the last year of hermitcraft watching i feel like theres been a very nice understanding between all of them that breaks are important. time off is important. and i think thats why now coming down from hearing about bdubs' v likely not releasing any video for LL2 is important.

you gotta take that step back and realize this really isnt any different reasoning than anyone else whos taken some kind of break- bc i think we know that breaks dont just mean constant offline time-- people have appeared in others' videos in periods where they release no videos. bc its a game they enjoy playing and hanging out with friends in.

even considering other circumstances up to now- bdubs going on vacation, and not uploading until recently, even further back being sick for like a whole month- whatever it is. now just happens to be the time he decided to take a step back from the typical. i cant even imagine the constant energy put out for these videos-- and when i look back at DL i could very much see how much work bdubs was putting into all that. it was fun but it was really acted up. (that is to say- is worked very hard to playing out a character when playing)

and hes great at it- but i cant not feel for someone who just want to step back and play with friends with little regard to recording on screen. my little expiriences with youtube and twitch prove enough to me how hard it can be at any scale when you really try and think about that stuff every single time and its the number one reason why i stepped back from my own stuff- i wasnt doing anything with my friends outside of it, and i was missing the casualness of just hanging with them offline! its so important to do that.

no I don't watch hermitcraft, but I hear bits and pieces from the people on my tumblr dash and my twitter tl who do watch it. also, I've watched 3rd life and last life (and part of double life) which have a lot of the hermits in them, so I'm mostly familiar with the hermits through that (I will say that I am not immune to good times)

oh god most of my google drive is full of fic ideas that either wouldn't do well or I just don't feel like writing lmao. one example is that I love coming up with aus of movies but rarely do I actually wanna write them out entirely. one movie au I think about so often but would never get around to writing is an au of the movie Push. Push is not a very good film. it's fun! but it's not good lmao. the concept was SUPER cool to me though. it's a movie about people who have psychic powers that are hunted down by an evil government organization yknow the drill, but the plot is about a guy in his 20s who is a 'mover' (has telekinesis) that's kind of down on his luck and doesn't have much of a life. he gets dragged into a plot to steal a metal briefcase because a 13 year old 'watcher' (sees the future) shows up on his doorstep and tells him she sees the two of them teaming up to find this case and she's convinced it has a shit ton of money in it. a lot of other stuff happens but the main two characters have such older brother/little sister energy that i literally can't stop thinking about crimeboysing it. it would be so fun but I'll never write it unfortunately.

hmm... one of my favorite self indulgent movies to rewatch just for fun is a super cheesy 90s film called hackers. the fashion is peak bad 90s fashion and the plot is so stupid, it's so much fun I adore it. I love rewatching it to cheer myself up
