I know that I'm pretty late to the conversation, but I've just reread all of Vampire Academy and Bloodlines (possibly for The Untitled Jill Project) and it's the first time I've reread the VA series in years.

I'm just thinking about how, in my opinion, the quality of the VA series improved as we got into the last few books, and with Bloodlines, I think the reverse sort of happened. Spoilers for both series ahead. (Yeah, the last book came out nine years ago, but you never know.)

I think I hadn't realized how cohesive the ending of Last Sacrifice was. Details from as far back as the first book came up and were very relevant. The political plotline came together in a really tight way, Sonya Karp turned out the be Chekov's spirit user, we got more world-building details, the antagonists had complex and convoluted motivations, and even when there were plot threads left dangling, those actually served a purpose. I loved the part where Adrian pointed out to Rose that her actions had consequences and even though she had gotten what she wanted, not everything else was resolved, so people like Eddie and Sydney and Jill were left in bad situations, and she was partly responsible. It created a little more moral ambiguity, which I really enjoyed, especially since YA tends to like the very neat endings where everything winds up happily ever after.

The Vampire Academy books improved the deeper into the series you got. And, although I love Bloodlines, I do think that the first three books are much stronger than the last three. Which is a shame, because the series has so much potential.

I think Mead is at her best when she's writing something of a mystery. Last Sacrifice obviously comes to mind (they're solving a murder mystery, after all). Bloodlines had that, with the tattoos, Lee, and Keith being shady all building up to a really exciting climax. The Golden Lily wasn't quite as much of one, but the clues leading up to the reveal of the Warriors were well-placed. Indigo Spell went straight back into mystery territory, trying to find Jackie's sister. And then The Fiery Heart is where, in my opinion, things start to falter. There's a lot of interesting worldbuilding information introduced, with the new details about spirit and magic coming up, and it was fun to get into Adrian's head, but it definitely felt like this supernatural romance was shifting to become a lot more romance and a lot less concerned with the supernatural. But that's not such a big deal. It's the middle of the series, we're building tension, Re-Education has been a threat hanging over Sydney since page one of Bloodlines and we're finally seeing that fear pay off.

But then we get to Silver Shadows, and while I guess figuring out where Sydney is could be a mystery, it doesn't really resonate the way 'who killed the queen' does, in my opinion. Sydney's arc in Re-Education is great, and I do like the way the books deal with Adrian's mental health issues, but some of Adrian's chapters felt more like filler. And a bigger issue, imo, was that this was when we really started to lose the side characters. Some of my favorite parts of the first few books were characters like Jill, Eddie, Trey, and Angeline, and then the ensemble atmosphere was largely gone, because Sydney was in Re-Education and Adrian left Palm Springs. The final fight and flight sequence was really good, though, so I had high hopes going into The Ruby Circle.

The Ruby Circle is probably my least favorite of the books between both of the series, and I think that's a shame, since it's the finale. We'd just had a 'kidnapped character' arc, so I think there was less emphasis on describing everyone's reactions. We saw the biggest reaction from Eddie, but as a result, he got kind of flattened out from the really well-rounded character he'd been from the back half of the VA books and the first part of Bloodlines.

The Ruby Circle could have been a really good mystery, with lots of twists that tied up a lot of the lingering questions from the series. Except that a lot of threads from the rest of the series were dropped and didn't resurface. They never caught whoever was behind the assassination attempt on Jill. I don't think we even got an official resolution on whether Lissa managed to change the quorum law. The political plots that were integral to VA weren't significant in Bloodlines, despite it all starting because of a politically motivated assassination. We also never got a resolution on the rogue spirit user who turned Lee back from being Strigoi, or the spirit users who had been sent to the psychiatric facility in Tarasov (the prison from Spirit Bound). We never found Robert Duro. The bond itself was somewhat discarded, too, whenever it wasn't immediately useful for a plot point. Instead, we just got a scavenger hunt across the country, a few fight scenes where the protagonists were pretty much guaranteed to win, and a final showdown with a magic barrier that, as we learn after, would have dropped down on its own in a few hours for them to bring Jill food, anyways.

I obviously still like the series, since I'm rereading it and talking about it nine years after the fact. But I think that there were a lot of opportunities to continue plots from VA that were lost, even when they should have been brought back into the story.

If anyone has made it this far, I suppose I should throw in a pitch for The Untitled Jill Project, which will be my attempt to rewrite the Bloodlines series from Jill's perspective, because I think there's still a lot more story to be told. I haven't got it all mapped out, but I intend to at least tie up some of the narrative loose ends I mentioned that bothered me about the series in that story. I might write up another post here soon about how Jill's characterization also suffered as Bloodlines went on, if anyone's interested.

Anyways, if anyone has any strong opinions on what I said (agreeing or disagreeing) please let me know! I'd love to talk about the series with people, since no one in my real life has read it, and I'm curious to know what the rest of the fandom thinks about how the narrative progressed in Bloodlines.

Bridgerton- My hopes for the TV adaptation of 'It's In His Kiss'

Honestly Hyacinth x Gareth are one of those I love the potential but the execution was kinda messy stories I'm excited for the TV adaptation to make changes.

Firstly to speed things up I think the central conflict should be the St Clairs need money quickly and Gareth wants to dodge his fathers solution of marrying Mary Winthrop so he's desperate to find his paternal grandmother Isabella's diamonds and solve the money issue. Maybe he found a letter mentioning them or overhears his father? IDK point is Gareth is looking for the diamonds at the start of the story.

Lady Danbury doesn't have all the details but is aware that her favourite grandchild is being pressured in to marriage she wants to set him up with Hyacinth but the two of them have an ongoing love-hate relationship and rarely can be in the same room without trading barbs.

They sit next to each other at a musicale and he learns that Hyacinth knows Italian. He needs her to translate Isabella's diaries so he can find the diamonds, she's bored and up for an adventure he keeps most of the diamonds, she'll get a cut/the pleasure of solving a mystery and Mary Winthrop can find someone who actually loves her because Mary is 16 to Gareth's 24-ish and he sees her as a sister. Everyone wins!

(Note I do want Mary to get her own romance and have a little sister big brother bond with Gareth).

Poor Henry (Gareth's older brother) is dead though he died much earlier in this timeline and Gareth found out he was a bastard by his father lamenting how his real son died yet the bastard lived. I'm all for tragedy/trauma so I want Henry to protect Gareth at the cost of his own life in some sort of accident. Henry dies when Gareth is a teenager, about 14 years old.

Gareth has endured his "father's" abuse and stayed with Lady Danbury until his father lit a fire under his ass now Mary's 16 and her family have a large dowry.

He's kind of a free spirit, known to have dalliances with opera singers etc. In the original he had an artistic streak and I think I'd shift it to him being more handy/crafty than the drawing arts mostly because if he was good at whittling his father would look down on it as a lower class talent. He's more of a flirt than a rake, doesn't take mistresses and takes precautions not to get people pregnant. He has many friends but few that he's actually close to.

Hyacinth on the other hand is Lady Danbury's mini me - outspoken and opinionated she's managed to drive every potential suitor away with her wit/ferocity and in her 4th season she's mostly over the courting thing and prefers meddling and hanging out with Lady Danbury. At somepoint she expresses that she wants Lady Danbury to be her grandmother but then sighs as that means she'd have to marry Gareth.

Gareth is of course Agatha's favourite grandchild meaning they see each other often since Hyacinth comes to read to Lady Danbury weekly. Whenever Gareth and Hyacinth meet they trade jibes and have settled into a frenemies dynamic.

Back to the plot: Gareth needs help to find the diamonds, Hyacinth is sort of proficient in Italian- they become partners in crime rather quickly.

They spend a lot of time together on this project and there are rumours of them courting which they don't really confirm or deny. Sometimes their bickering borders on flirting but they are just as often genuinely exasperated by each other.

Gareth hasn't actually told her why he needs the diamonds and other than knowing he's Lady Danbury's favourite grandchild Hyacinth doesn't know much about Gareth's family.

(Feeling check: She finds him to be mostly sarcastic but the only guy that can keep up with her, she hates that she finds him attractive as when they speak she often gets the sense he's mocking her (because he does frequently tease her). She also finds he's oddly guarded. He finds it funny to tease her, having years of experience dealing with his grandmother. She also does make him laugh but he like most other people find her constant chatter and strong personality somewhat tiring).

The first hint she get's that there's more to him than a snarky freeloader is an upcoming ball. It's Mary's first one and Gareth is her escort he wants this to be the best night ever for his baby sister. Hyacinth is touched by him trying so hard and wants to help out. (Insert Mary Winthrop side plot where Gareth and Hyacinth are making sure to make her evening amazing and she gets to dance with a sweet guy interested in courting her).

Gareth's "father" shows up at the ball to berate him (as helping Mary find a suitor is counterproductive in securing her dowry- also he's the worst). Hyacinth gets him out of that by claiming she was promised a dance, there's sparks and Gareth excuses himself to cool off (because wanting to kiss Hyacinth messes with his world view).

He runs into daddy dearest again who can finish his rant without interruptions, his dad tells him that Gareth's real father must be a chimney sweep etc and reminds him to be useful and marry Mary.

Upset he finds a bottle of something strong and hides away in a study. Hyacinth comes to find him, notes he's upset/angry and sits with him to cheer him up they talk instead of their usual trading of barbs but he's still guarded. Hyacinth probably steals a swig of the bottle or something else impish and suddenly Gareth is overcome by the urge to kiss her. So he does. She kisses him back then comes to her senses.

She runs away and can't sleep properly as the kiss is on repeat in her mind so she stays up translating the diary. She is determined to not acknowledge that she likes Gareth and besides she's convinced he doesn't like her back.

Gareth on the other hand is like ok Hyacinth is attractive but he doesn't love her and the kiss doesn't mean he wants to court her. So he comes over pretty early the following day to set things straight between them.

When he gets there Hyacinth is more interested in her progress with the diary than the kiss- she's figured out there's another clue and they need to break into the St Clair house to find it. They plan the logistics of the heist (and argue about her joining him). Before he leaves, he tells her he wanted to apologise for the kiss last night. She breezes over his apology saying that it was perfectly understandable; he was drunk, she was a female in close proximity, and he's not to worry as she barely remembered it.

He's actually annoyed that shes so casual about it and she teases him over his indignation as she walks him out. She reiterates that his kiss wasn't earth shattering and jokes that maybe the women he'd kissed before were being polite. Pride wounded Gareth takes her hand to kiss it as is customary then pulls her close enough to whisper something to the effect of he hopes she'll find a man who will kiss her properly before kissing her hand and leaving. (It's very much a he doesn't want to marry her yet but he wants her to want him thing. He refuses to properly acknowledge why he wants Hyacinth to like him).

A few days later the heist begins Hyacinth is already adept at sneaking out of her own house and Gareth helps her sneak into his estranged fathers house through a window (lots of chaste but super inappropriate for the time period touching). They are able to search study of grandma Isabella (who owned the diary) and find a note in Italian which is the riddle that will lead to the location of the diamonds.

They get out unscathed despite a few hiccups but on the way home almost get caught if it wasnt for Hyacinth's quick thinking. She pulls him in for a much deeper kiss in a way that she was completely obscured from the passerbys using his body. The onlookers catch a glimpse of a couple but cannot clearly make out who's there and when Hyacinth and Gareth keep kissing instead of breaking apart the onlookers just walk on.

To lighten the mood she jokes that this kiss was better than the first but Gareth is not in the mood to play and reminds her that what they did was seriously risky and had anyone caught them they'd be forced to wed. They are both annoyed at each other.

(Feelings check in- Hyacinth has admitted to herself she finds him attractive and enjoys his company, she's living in the moment and not putting a label on things or thinking about long term consequences (there aren't any as long as they don't get caught). Gareth- finds her attractive and enjoys her company, cares too much to want to risk her reputation and as he falls harder will start to push her away so she doesn't get caught up with his mess or end up stuck with him).

Hyacinth translates the note and thinks she's getting closer to the location of the diamonds. Gareth comes over for tea as a family friend of the Bridgertons via Lady Danbury and Gregory teases Hyacinth over her special friend, in the midst of such a large and warm family Gareth is incredibly lonely having only 2 people (Lady Danbury and Mary Winthrop) that he can say that he loves.

Later they go on a walk (so Hyacinth can tell him about her progress and where they need to search next), Gareth makes a comment to the effect of not wanting to take advantage of her family's good will or break their hearts by doing something that might compromise her. (No more sneaking out at night). Hyacinth complains that her family annoys her (she doesn't truly mean it- she's having fun with this treasure hunt and doesn't want her family to get in the way) he tells her to check her privilege as he'd trade anything for a sliver of that warmth. It's left mostly unsaid but what he does say about his father/miserable childhood speaks volumes.

Hyacinth is left speechless and she fully appreciates how lucky she is. With him opening up she realises that she loves him and wants to bring him warmth and make him smile. She tells him that since they are sharing Lady Danbury he can share the Bridgerton clan. She opens up about her family and her insecurities regarding them (never knowing her father etc) but also who Gareth would get on with best in her family giving him a short introduction to all of them in order. When she reaches herself she admits she's the most difficult of the Bridgertons to get along with.

Gareth frowns at how she says that but Hyacinth steers the conversation back to the heist and tells him they can search his father's house together in the day if he were courting her.

He's shocked and anticipating his refusal Hyacinth stresses he would be pretending to court her. She does her best puppy eyes and Gareth finds himself unable to refuse.

The fake courting has them both on edge since Hyacinth has accepted she loves him but is sure that he's putting up with her and he's doing his best to keep her at a distance whilst also noticing how distressed she seems and wanting to make things better.

He's shaken about (fake) courting her and at tea with Mary Winthrop (his adopted little sister) he comes clean about his mixed feelings towards Hyacinth. He's basically looking for advise on how to make Hyacinth happier in this fake courtship thing or sympathy as he endures this until it reaches a good stopping point except he doesn't actually want it to stop.

Mary takes it all in and asks him if this was an elaborate way to ask her to be his best maid at his upcoming wedding? Gareth's like no way I'm not in love, I'm trying to keep her out of my family's mess so that she can marry someone worthy of her. Mary's like sure honey would you be cool seeing her with someone else though? He leaves without saying a word.

They keep carrying on this (fake) courtship whilst searching for the diamonds and thanks to Mary, Gareth is wrestling with his feelings walking around his home and all the courting has him daydreaming about marrying her for real.

At somepoint Hyacinth brings up that the reason the ton keeps staring at him is because they are surprised she hasn't driven him away yet and lists her faults. Gareth disagrees saying that what she's saying about herself is not true. (It can't be because he loves her). Disagreeing with Hyacinth is the fastest way to get a lecture on why she's right and so he shuts her up mid lecture by kissing her. (Insert mutter about 3rd time being the charm because this is the earth shattering kiss).

Gareth is all hold up I gotta marry this girl and leaves her after turning her world upside down to go straight to Anthony to ask for her hand in marriage. (Insert the iconic Anthony celebrating Hyacinth finally being off his hands scene).

Gareth then proposes to Hyacinth the next day. Hyacinth says yes but is suspicious as he gave no indication of wanting to marry her until the proposal.

Congratulations are given by the Bridgertons, Lady Danbury and Mary Winthrop. But Lord St Clair ruins stuff by announcing that he and Lord Winthrop had gone behind their children's backs and made a formal betrothal that needed to be broken before Gareth could marry. Mary asks her father to reconsider but he wants security for his daughter and Gareth is her good friend who cherishes her telling her with her condition this is the best she can ask for. Mary is distraught as she believes she can find her own happiness and has been having sucess but her father won't listen.

Gareth basically kicks the diamond hunt into over drive sure that Hyacinth's dowry and the diamonds would outweigh what the Winthrop's offered which would let him break the engagement.

He comes over anxious to learn of the progress Hyacinth is making with the diaries but though his intentions were to talk to her, steal some kisses but ultimately return home with her still chaste- one thing leads to another and they sleep together. Gareth is frustrated as he compromised her and Hyacinth is like ??? We are getting married it's no big deal right? Gareth makes a face then promises her they will get married. (Not telling her why she needs to rush finding the diamonds, not telling her about his betrothal).

This isn't reassuring to Hyacinth because she still doesn't know his reasons for asking her to marry him. What if he doesn't love her?

They leave together Gareth pretending to have arrived super early at the Bridgertons to go to his father's house and keep searching. Whilst there they find the next part of the puzzle. Lord St Clair arrives, Gareth hides Hyacinth. Lord St Clair tells him to give up the Bridgerton girl as the betrothal to Mary is still ongoing and the Bridgerton dowry won't cover their debts. He berates him and calls him a bastard.

When he finally leaves Hyacinth is gone. Gareth sneaks back into her room to find her angry convinced he seduced her to secure her dowry and the diamonds/get out of marrying Mary.

Because he could have stopped, knowing that things were complicated he didn't have to tie her to him like that.

He tries to explain that it wasn't like that, that he wouldn't say anything.

"Do you love me?"

Gareth freezes. But the silence is enough.

She tells him to leave if he has any affection for her and he does.

Violet realises that Hyacinth hasn't spoken to Gareth in 3 days and asks her about it. Hyacinth admits they had a fight but refuses to go into details. When asked if she wants to break the engagement Hyacinth realises that no she still loves him and she wants to marry him even though she doesn't know if he loves her back.

Violet's like baby girl you are the strongest and most willful of my children. You saved me when I thought I had lost everything after the death of Edmund, you can absolutely ask your fiance to speak his mind just give him time to speak spitfire.

So she does. She goes to Gareth tells him that she loves him, and they'll figure it out together. Gareth tells her that his father doesn't call him a bastard lightly and the only reason he was legitimised is because his father would rather raise a bastard than be called a cuckold. He's basically giving her the you can back out now speech, apologising for being selfish. And tells her everything.

Hyacinth listens and is fine with it. She tells him her favourite sister in law is also a bastard and the real problem is the society that punishes the child for the parents sin. In her eyes "bastard" (if that term should still be used) is a circumstance of birth not a character trait and even if people found out she would not be ashamed of him. They kiss again.

As a know it all she then quips that Gareth has been legitimised and his father would never risk his reputation and tell others the truth of his birth.

She tells him that she loves him and she's pretty stubborn about that so he should prepare to be loved until the hatred he bore is a distant memory. If he will take her.

At this he kisses her deeply.

After reading to Lady Danbury as she does weekly she is able to translate the diary and finds out Gareth's real father who is actually the man he thought was his uncle. Gareths paternal grandmother Isabella had hidden the diamonds for her beloved 2nd son as his father left him no fortune or title and practically disinherited him. Edward St Clair bounced back he never married, but he did become a respectable member of society.

Hyacinth rushes to Gareths side eager to let him know of the news. He reflects on his favourite uncle who did show him love until his unfortunate passing and tells Hyacinth what he remembers about him.

Hyacinth does something inexplicably Hyacinth which makes him smile and tease her about it. He then says he loves that quirk of hers and begins to list every small detail he loves about her saying that he's loved all of these small things for so long that he failed to see the droplets for the ocean. They get it on right there on the carpet of the study. Afterwards Hyacinth thinks wait a second... ocean... bathroom did Edward have a bathroom?

With this piece of information they are able to find the diamonds from Isabella as well as gold left by Edward.

Now in possession of a great fortune Gareth returns to the Winthrop's residence and tells Mary's father that he must end the betrothal as he's in love with Hyacinth.

He presents some of the diamonds/gold as compensation which Mary accepts just a single bracelet or earrings as a token overriding her father's wishes. She tells him that she will find her own happiness and thanks him for being her brother. (As Gareth leaves he runs into the gentleman that Mary danced with at the ball who's bringing her favourite flowers).

Lord St Clair is snide about his pursuit of Hyacinth and Gareth tells him that it turns out his father is Edward St Clair effectively telling the man to get stuffed cuck and going to find Hyacinth.

He tells Hyacinth that he loves her and proposes to her again.

Hyacinth and Gareth get married, as promised Mary Winthrop is best maid and Gregory gets to be man of honour.

Iterator OCs? More likely than you think!

So the brainRot just keeps growing- Anyway, introducing my new 8 Iterator OCs!

A note for all of these: I used a base by JuniperRainz and edited it slightly for all of them, so credit to them for the base!!

Starting off we’ve got: Three Flames Intertwined, he/him. TFI is an Iterator who’s somewhat given up on the Great Problem, but still checks it out occasionally, mostly when bored. He’s not one to hold punches and is quite sarcastic, and always in the mood to learn as much drama as he can, which he typically gets through his platonic partner Shifting Borealis of Comets. TFI also dabbles in some memes occasionally, finding humor in the funny little things younger Ancients used to come up with. He doesn’t miss the Ancients, but rather hopes that every one of them is happy, if there’s anything left of them now that they’ve all ascended.

Next is Three Chains Unbroken, he/him. TCU is a bitter and cold Iterator, despising his creators due to what they did to him. When he was first primed, some part of his code had been fudged and he didn’t recognize the Ancients who were in his chamber, instead deeming them a threat. As such he attempted to send them into the next cycle. Ever since this incident he was stripped of most of his abilities as an Iterator, many of his systems far out of reach, and three chains keeping him from even moving around in his chamber without trouble. He believed the Ancients wildly overreacted (which they did!), and began pondering a way to free himself, not just from the fate of iterating the same old problem, but from being an Iterator entirely. Eventually he lured two lizards into his chamber, a pink lizard and a red lizard. From those two he began a long project, resulting in the creation of a lizard roughly the same as a Train Lizard, the creature being tamed from existence due to his constant presence. The lizard broke the chains and ended up destroying anything that tied him strictly to his chamber. Ever since that, he’s roamed the lands free of his past duties, hanging out with the lizards and ever so slowly forming a group of freed Iterators, ones he had heard the plights of and offered the chance to abandon their posts.

Shifting Borealis of Comets, they/them. SBC is TFI’s platonic partner and a lover of all things mysterious, though they have a problem of subsequentially solving the mystery and ruining the fun for themself. Even despite this minor plight, SBC has no qualms with their place in the world, though is curious about what could be beyond their fixed location. Eventually, through another Iterator, they discover two Iterators free of their cans and grows envious, wanting to explore the world for themself. After some trial and error and a harshly failed experiment, they free themself and instantly travel to TFI, intending to either free TFI or stay with him. Both end up happening and they’re happily exploring the world, though there’s something SBC won’t tell TFI. That failed experiment, well it was rather clingy, and not in any good ways.

Still Waters Flowing, she/her. SWF was built at a period of time where much production of Iterators was coming to a halt, due to lack of resources. As such her superstructure was built significantly lower to the ground than many other Iterators, and quickly deemed abandoned when rains from nearby Iterators still cast her structure into shadow. To this date her can is completely submerged, lacking any legs or any puppet, and infested with Rot. The humid environment ended up having been the perfect breeding ground for the invasive organism, it tearing away at her communications and functions until nothing more was heard of SWF. She got just lucky enough though, the rot eating away at her umbilical and ending up corroding the metal to the point where she was able to just.. Get up and leave. SWF abandoned her superstructure, collecting a massive hoard of pearls from whatever communications she’d shared through transporting the objects with eel lizards and salamanders, and befriended the nearby scavenger population. Eventually she encountered TCU and with a small amount of trial and error, convinced the scavs that he’s a friend. She still hangs out with the tribe she found, teaching many of them about Iterator language, and in turn knowing how the scavs communicate well.

I’ll add the other four in the next post of mine bc oh boy this is long already lmao- Hope you enjoy these funkies!

Velma's mom still disappears, and Velma gets upset that nothing was ever found of her again, and that's why Velma got into mystery solving as a kid cuz that was the one mystery she could never solve, and still hopes that maybe one day she can.

Her and Daphne (who's parents are still dead) weren't "Friends to Enemies" they just genuinely didn't know each other because of the different cliques, and she isn't a jerk or mean to her (not on purpose) she just doesn't know how to interact with her at first till they have to for a class project and Daphne reveals to Velma that she's also into mystery solving cuz she wants to know what really happened to her parents and Velma agrees to help her to bring Daphne closure (and maybe prove to herself that she can do this).

Fred ends up joining them cuz he wants to do something other than what his rich parents want him to do. He wants to do something that interests himself, not satisfy his parents status, and uses the money he has to learn how to and then eventually build traps.

Shaggy's the cool stoner dude that's just friends with about anyone (even the teachers), including Fred (cuz Fred vents to him sometimes) who experiments with his own "magic" things that help others on a bad day. He doesn't sell anything, just occasionally hands them to someone who look like they need a stress relief. He decides to help them out with whatever they're doing after Fred asks (with a promise of burgers and fries if he helps) and, even though it scared to shit out of him, he really likes hanging out with these groovy people, and sticks around.

They meet Scooby during one of their clue hunts when Shag saves him from being tied up somewhere (or from animal control pretending that Scooby's his), and he tags along with them for a bit. Him and Shag get freaked out by the same things and both love food, some thing they both bond over quickly and they become inseparable. Afterwards Shag names him Scoobert Doo Rogers, or Scooby for short, who turns out to be incredibly smart and very perceptive, saving them a few times from falling into traps or getting tricked.

So that new Velma show dropped the other day and was horrible. I don’t even have to watch it to know that either, no show getting that many terrible titles on YouTube is worth the time. But it seems to have pulled other Scooby-Doo fans out of the woodwork to make their own versions of a reboot. Cause whatever strange ideas they have, it can’t be any worse than what we got. So as one of those fans, I’m throwing my hat in the ring and making my own version too. Hope y’all like it.

Let’s start with the setting. This reboot will take place in Coolsville. This will be where Mystery Inc. is based. Not all episodes will take place in Coolsville exclusively but it is the central location. Also in this universe, supernatural creatures exist but are a rarity. Most of what the gang will face will be people in costume but they will be willing to kill the gang so they shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Now on to our main cast. The gang themselves will be young adults in college instead of high schoolers (early twenties) as that would make more sense for their mystery solving career and give them more freedom. Allow me to describe them individually.

Fred Jones, 23, voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr.: Fred is the nicest member of the gang. To the point that he’s a bit gullible but don’t let that fool you. He’s the leader for a reason and that reason is he can assess a situation and determine who is the best person to call on. He knows his team better than anyone else and knows how to get the best out of them without being bossy. He’s also working on his mechanical engineering degree to better build traps for ghosts and monsters.

Daphne Blake, 23, voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar: Daphne comes from the richest family in Coolsville. The Blakes are real estate tycoons that own a lot of properties in Coolsville and nearby Crystal Cove and they wanted Daphne to take over as the oldest child but she wasn’t interested. Daphne wanted to solve mysteries with her friends. As a result, she was basically disowned but she doesn’t care. Because of her background, she would bring a unique set of skills to the table such as telling the difference between fake and real gems and mastery of martial arts. She and Fred are engaged in this series and they have a solid relationship. She is going for her degree in journalism to become a reporter.

Velma Dinkley, 20, voiced by Linda Cardellini: Velma, like always, is the brains of the operation. She is usually the one to solve the mystery before the others and is the most skeptical of some of the creatures. Having said that, she is willing to accept the paranormal if there’s no other explanation. Velma’s genius level intellect has lead her to become an expert in robotics, programming and forensics. This makes her the go-to person in the gang for any clues found. She is an open lesbian in this series and is going for her degree in computer science.

Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, 21, voiced by Matthew Lillard: Shaggy in this series would still be comic relief but more because he would have the common sense to not be around an area where a monster is, regardless of whether or not it’s a costumed man. The only reason he is helping is because he likes hanging out with his friends. He may seem useless but he’s the fastest one in the gang and the most limber. He is also a talented ventriloquist, able to project his voice in a different location to throw people off. Shaggy is going for a degree in general studies as he’s unsure what he wants to do and he’s a vegetarian. Also, no he’s not a stoner, he’s a gamer.

Scoobert-Doo, voiced by Frank Welker: In this series, Scooby-Doo is an alien. Scooby was a general on a planet far from Earth inhabited by aliens that resemble dogs on Earth. He disobeyed an order from the ruler of his planet to kill a village to keep the population in line. The ruler wanted him executed for this, so he fled to Earth and covered his tracks so he wasn’t followed. He met Shaggy when he was nine and Shaggy is the only one who knows he’s not an ordinary dog. Scooby doesn’t speak physically in this series, rather speaking through telepathy and only to Shaggy so he doesn’t freak out other people.

The Mystery Machine, voiced by Ellen McLain: The way I see it, the Mystery Machine is as much a character as the gang, so it’s now programmed with an AI named C.A.L.I, courtesy of Velma. She responds to commands from the gang to use different tools in its arsenal or transform into other vehicles for traversing any terrain. C.A.L.I stands for Computer Automotive Logistics Interface. If the gang are struggling, she will offer options on what to do next. All with a dry and sarcastic sense of humor.

The plot of the series will generally be similar to the original but with a dark comedic tone to it all. There will also be this overarching plot that Scooby’s race is close to find him and are likely going to conquer Earth. So Scooby has to come up with a solution before they get here.

That’s my take on an adult Scooby-Doo cartoon. Let me know what you think, can’t be any worse than Velma. I’ll make a post about side characters later.

Alex found herself looking over the email that was sent to her about this new project her father wanted to be done. She didn't want to do it, let alone have her name attached to it. The Indorapter was a different case, and they were inseparable from the moment the beast hatched and were close. After the events that fell with Mr. Mills, Alex, swore to never create anything that would kill man kind. When she was first learning how to gene splice she had started small and at age 12 she made her company who was curled up sleeping. “I'm not doing this, I won't risk losing my job because another high and might rich guy wants a new pet.” Alex tossed her phone on the other side of the bed and just stared at the ceiling. Another message came through, another threat from him, stating if she didn't do it he would make sure she was fired.

It was going to be a night where either her brain didn't shut off, and she just laid there, or she was going to pass out at some point. Sparkle was already asleep in his bed on the floor by the door. It would be a wise idea for her to get some sleep and hit the ground running tomorrow. It was a big day, at least she could train and be with her dinosaurs again.

~Next day~

Alex woke up super early and grabbed all her gear for training, Of course Sparkle had to come and see everyone. She opened her bedroom door and ran out, pulling it closed behind her. It was her first day back in training and nothing was going to slow her down. Everything was perfect, her phone wasn't going off, and she could just relax and see her two favorite dinosaurs. It dawned on her who to see first Trouble or Rexy, she walked to trouble's paddock and then passed it to go see her T-rex who hadn't seen her at all. Today was hang out with Rexy for a bit kind of day. The old girl needed her exercise, after all.

As she made her way to Rexy paddock, her eyes scanned the hallways. It was weird, normally Gideon was up by now and walking around. She shrugged her shoulders and opened the paddock door. Alex stepped inside and was met with a T-rex head being shoved in her chest. “Hey girl, I take you missed me?” She asked, petting the T-rex. “You got to move, so I can get in more derp.” The T-rex stepped back, allowing her trainer to get inside. Alex was amazed by this dinosaur, she survived so much and is still standing. It was a mystery in and of itself, and Alex wanted to solve it one day.

The two did the normal drills and Rexy never missed a beat. This was well worth waiting for, being back with her baby and just doing what she does best. “Take a moment, girl, I'm going to try to reach Gideon.” Alex went to grab her walkie-talkie and switched it to 2. “Hey Lazy bones, you're getting up soon, right?” She asked over the walkie-talkie.

Gideon rolled his eyes as he watched her walk past him. Crimson nudged him on the shoulder to follow. Gideon took a hand and gently shoved the raptors muzzle down. “Stay” he commanded before turning to follow Alex.

“Hey wait up! What the hell was that?!” He called, referring to the incident that just took place. The metal door slammed shut behind him to ensure the raptor was contained in his pen. Scratches and huffs could be heard from the other side. Mostly likely Crimson protesting. When Alex ignored his question and kept walking, Gideon stepped in front of her. He blocked her path and pointed a finger in her face as he barked. “Hey! If I recall correctly, I AM the game warden here! I am the one in charge of the raptors. What the hell was your dumbass thinking?! You put my raptor in danger of that monster!”

Steddie AU: Buzzfeed Unsolved Edition (PT2 here)

Steve Harrington, a life-long believer in all things spooky, starts a silly little web series with his friend, Robin. The first season is relatively tame. Just Steve and Robin sitting in the front seat of his car, driving around Hawkins and talking about urban legends and unsolved mysteries. It's cheap to make and, hey, he's getting paid to hang out with his best friend so Steve isn't about to start complaining. But in the gap between Season 1 and Season 2, the show goes viral. Suddenly his bosses want him to go to haunted locations and try and capture evidence of the supernatural. Robin, rightly, backs the fuck out at that. Real or not, she doesn't want to mess with that sort of stuff. Not when the consequence is potentially being haunted for the rest of her life.

Enter Eddie Munson, a co-worker of Steve and Robin, who is so utterly unbothered by the supernatural that they have to put him on the project. The dynamic is perfect: the true believer and the absolute sceptic. And, as much as it surprises Steve, he actually kind of likes hanging around with Eddie. Office rumours be damned. Together they work their way through all the most haunted locations in America, collecting evidence (or as Eddie calls it *bullshit*) and not solving a single damn thing.

That is until the fourth season of the show when Steve suggests they try and perform an exorcism as the big season finale. He's bought a cursed doll on eBay and has all the equipment ready for the shoot. It's the first idea that Eddie ever shoots down and Steve can't work out why until one day he reads a fan theory that Eddie is a demon. It's an inside joke of the fandom and the accepted explanation as to why they never get any concrete evidence. And, sure, it's dumb but so is Steve sometimes, so he splashes Eddie with Holy Water the next time they're working late on set. And, well, that's the story of the first supernatural mystery that Steve Harrington ever solves.

I think people fixate too much on the “Sam is the dog killer” part of Under the Silver Lake. That entire thing is a red herring, imo. It’s less about him literally killing dogs and more about his sex addiction and unhealthy attitude towards women in general. To me, the whole culmination where the Homeless King confronts him about the dog treats in his pocket is a twist because we’ve been led to believe that we’re going to find out he’s secretly a dog serial killer, but the truth is far more mundane and pathetic. In the end I saw all the crazy goings on and mysteries of the movie to just be noise surrounding what ended up being a fairly simple story about this guy’s life falling apart and him going into a depressive self-destructive state of delusion. When he meets Riley Keough’s character he projects his feelings about his ex onto her and her dog, and spends the movie trying to solve her disappearance as a substitute for confronting the fact that his own life has gone off the rails. I mean, maybe he’s killing dogs off screen and dumping their bodies in the Silver Lake, sure, but I don’t think so, because the scene with the Homeless King brings us up to that conclusion and then pivots, going, “Actually he’s just a pathetic loser sad about a breakup and wants to pet his ex girlfriend’s dog. Gotcha!”

He does display violent tendencies a few times, which is fascinating, but I still think that’s a red herring to make us think “oh he’s the one killing dogs” whereas I don’t think there is any literal dog serial killer, any more than I think the Owl’s Kiss or the Songwriter are real. This interpretation relies a lot on dismissing a good chunk of the film as hallucinations or dreams, but to me that makes the most sense. He’s fallen into this paranoid fantasy trying to cope with his failure to make something of himself in LA.

Ultimately though I don’t really need the film to make sense or for my interpretation to be airtight, logically, because I enjoyed how bizarre the movie was and I did enjoy watching Garfield doing that weird ass run and being an unsettlingly horny trash fire. Curiously, a lot of reviews seem to point to this as being the reason the film isn’t very good, when to me it ended up being a delight. Would I want to hang out with that person in real life? Hell no. But this story would be vastly, unrecognizably different if it tried to cast a non-contemptible person in the role Sam occupies. Someone with their life together, who has a job and healthy relationships, wouldn’t be doing any of the things Sam does and you wouldn’t even have a movie.

Also, for some reason the line “Some people don’t realize this about themselves so I’m just going to tell you. You have an unpleasant smell about you” made me laugh my ass off.

Since I don't find many young Erasermic fanfics, I decided to share with you some of the ones I liked the most and, who knows, with this encouragement, some writers feel inspired and decide to write some more? I don't know, I think it's just an appeal from a disaster girl.

Yamada's relationship with Aizawa is on thin ice, to say the least. Too bad class trips, technical mishaps, and simulated natural disasters don't consider personal vendettas when putting a damper on your day.

I highly recommend this story as it is a twist of feelings and emotions. I could feel on my skin every sensation I read. All the effort the author puts into their stories is almost magical.

Summary: 8-year-old Hitoshi Shinsou is Quirkless—at least, that’s what his foster dads have been told by the orphanage. Hitoshi never speaks, he signs, although there were no mentioned disabilities or medical conditions on his file to explain this. He’s seemingly capable of speaking, but it’s a mystery as to why he doesn’t. One day, however, a ruthless gang member breaks into the Aizawa-Yamada residence, intent on revenge for Shouta's capture of their brother, and upon seeing his foster dads in trouble, Hitoshi is left with no choice but to reveal his ‘villainous’ Quirk to save them.

I was so moved by this story that I had to reread it 4 times in less than a month to relive every good feeling that was transmitted to me.

It seems to work. Shouta’s shoulders relax, and he grins up at Hizashi, wiping his hair out of his eyes. He misses a piece, and Hizashi has to shove his hands into his pockets to keep from giving in to the strange impulse to tuck it behind Shouta’s ear.

Shouta had these places within his own soul, too, but whenever something was truly important, Mic always seemed to know how to gently tug the truth out of him. Shouta, unfortunately, had no such similar tact, and usually he didn’t need to; Mic was open about so much.

How bad could Mic's secrets really be?

I was fine, until Yami quotes the song Clarity, and Yamada enjoying the song claiming to remember Shota when he hears it? I almost screamed. I love this fanfic from the bottom of my soul.

Here's the ask game, in case anyone's wondering.

1.📚 assign some characters to be in a group project together, and I’ll tell you how that would go:

Marinette would be team leader, naturally, she grabs that role as soon as she can. Alya would back her up on trying to keep everyone on track. Alix and Kagami would probably want to approach their subject matter in a very direct sort of way, maybe a bit TOO direct, and if there was any possibility of bringing some sort of sports or physical activity into the project, they'd take it. Marc would be a bit withdrawn without Nathaniel there, but Marinette would help him open up, and he'd do a lot of the writing component, I'd imagine, especially anything that used creative writing.

2.🤝 send me two or more characters, and I’ll come up with what activities they’d do together when hanging out

Oooh they'd go to an amusement park together! Alya would help Kagami with her secret fear of roller coasters, and Kagami would come to find that she could enjoy them now, with Alya by her side, of course. And Kagami would COMPLETELY destroy at all of those rigged carnival games, cleaning the people out of all the merch they have!

3.🐞 send me a character and a miraculous, and I’ll rate how good a match it is + come up with a few concepts about that new superhero

Very bad match. The dog requires some good tactical thinking to use effectively, since its power is very situational, and Kagami's main tactic is "pick up weapon and try to stab/bash the opponent with it". I think that she'd forget about the whole "Fetch" power entirely until reminded of it, just because it doesn't fit her style.

4.💎 Ask me about rarepairs

Oooh, I think Alyagami is a great pairing! They're both pretty badass, and ready to charge headlong into solving any mystery or resolving any situation they come across. Stand in their way, and you'll be run over. They're good matches for each other, both being very strong and assertive, and would make for a great Power Couple!

5.💭 I’ll come up with a cute little headcanon for the character or relationship (romantic or not) you send me. Feel free to add some kind of prompt if you’d like.

Marinette tells Alya about becoming Ladybug in order to help her during Origins - both times, actually, after Optigami, in an effort to cheer her friend up. Alya’s tickled pink, and wonders what might’ve happened if she’d taken her bag that day and found the earrings, but is still overall happy with how things worked out, since Marinette’s an amazing Ladybug, and Alya’s happy with Trixx.

6.💥 send me an akuma, and I’ll make up a team and plan to defeat them the most efficiently

So I’m assuming that The Bubbler is channeling the Black Cat Miraculous? Hm. Let’s say that makes the bubbles able to destroy anything they come in contact with, then. 

I’d have Rena Rouge make an illusion of Gabriel being a dick in order to distract him, then have Vesperia sneak up on him from behind and venom him. From there, it’s easy to take his bubble wand from him and snap it.

7.💡 send me a character, and I’ll talk about what I’d like to learn about them, see them doing, or something about them I’d like to see explored more

I’d love to see Marc’s family! Especially whether he has any siblings. I love the idea of him having a little sister especially and just being an awesome older brother.

8.😈 send me a minor background character who hasn’t been akumatized yet, and I’ll come up with an idea for their villain form

Alya’s mom, Marlena, hasn’t been akumatized yet. What if she got akumatized because all her kids have a tendency to get into danger and she’s not able to stop them? Like, Alya and Nora will happily charge into akuma danger zones, and Ella and Etta... well, they’re first graders. They have no conception of danger, and whatever they had was destroyed when they got used to supervillains attacking on a daily basis.

9.⚔️ send me two superheroes, and I’ll come up with how a duel between them would go and who would win

Ryuuko would win. Like I love Chat Noir and think he should generally be depicted as being a stronger combatant than usually happens, but well... Ryuuko is Kagami. I wouldn’t be surprised if she took down an akuma even WITHOUT having superpowers. She’s sure been giving it her best shot. 

Anyway, she’d slash at him repeatedly with her sword, keeping Chat on his toes, not giving him any respite, until eventually she overpowers him completely. If he tries anything sneaky, she’d use her power of turning into the elements to get around it and resume her assault.

10.💔 send me a character, and I’ll tell you some canon tidbit(s) I like about them that no one ever talks about

I don’t know about NO ONE talking about it, but I love drawing attention to Origins, and how Alya, as the first thing she did upon entering the class, stood up to Chloe in order to defend Marinette. She didn’t even know either girl! She just saw that another kid was being bullied and took action, even though it made her an enemy. She didn’t hesitate. I love that about her.

11. ◼️ send me two superheroes, and I’ll describe a “love square” between them, or rather what sort of identity shenanigans they could face. This would be fun about characters who are canonically dating or close friends, but it’s also fun if you get creative.

Hm... I don’t think Kagami and Marinette would change on different sides of the mask nearly as much as Adrien and Marinette do. Adrien acts very differently depending on whether he’s transformed or not, and Marinette acts differently depending on whether she’s around Adrien or not, though being transformed does factor in some, as she’s aware of how much of a role model and authority figure she is while being Ladybug. And Kagami just doesn’t really change how she acts regardless. A lot of people mask, but she ain’t one of them.

Honestly I think the biggest issues would come from Kagami and Marinette running out on each other due to akuma attacks, with both of them thinking the other person doesn’t like them because of it. I don’t think it’d take all that long for any identity shenanigans between them to lead to at least a one-sided Reveal, considering that Kagami gave herself away the first time she transformed, and that there’s just no one else in Miraculous who behaves similarly to her. 

12. 😡 send me one of Adrien’s friends, and I’ll tell you why Gabriel disapproves and thinks his son shouldn’t hang out with such a bad influence.

Gabriel sneers outwardly about her supposedly running a “gossip column” and running into danger in ways that might give his son ideas. Privately, he’s worried that her being so close to him will lead to her uncovering some evidence pointing towards him being Hawkmoth. Around Season 4 era, he’s also worried about Ladybug influencing Adrien through Alya, since he knows that Alya and Ladybug are close.

Awoken from her daydream, Y/N grumbled when her best friend shoved his notebook in her face.

"Earth to Y/N!" He shouted as he ruffled her hair with the object in his hand.

"Mingi! What the hell?" She complained as she pushed the notebook away.

"I've been trying to get your attention for the past 3 minutes. Are you even listening to me?" He questioned her.

"I am!" She interjected.

Giving her a quizzical look, he crossed his arms.

"Really? Then can you tell me what the answer is?"

Ripping the notebook from his hands, she looked over the equation that filling half the page, squinting at it every now and then before ultimately admitting defeat as she slowly handed it back to the genius sitting next to her on the bench.

Rolling his eyes, Mingi let out a small sigh as he began packing up his belongings, deeming it useless to continue his semi-tutoring session.

"Don't give me that look Min, not everyone is a cute nerd like you that can solve an advanced calculus problem in mere seconds."

"Ok! Although that may be true.." He held up a finger as he paused to fully zip up his bag.

"You're pretty smart too Y/N."

She gave him a small thankful smile at his comment.

"You're problem isn't that you're dumb. Your problem is currently standing right over there."

She hesitantly tilted her head to where his head gestured at, knowing fully well what she'd see. But as soon as she caught a glimpse of the black combat boots, her eyes stayed fixated on the figure reclining against the lamppost. Her eyes trailed up his ripped black skinny jeans, up his torso which was covered by a striped black and dark red turtleneck, its sleeves peeking out of the black studded leather jacket layered on top, until they landed on his nonchalant gaze. His eyes were looking down at his phone, the input connected to the headphones that were currently resting on top of his dark ash grey head. That was how one would mostly find Kim Hongjoong: lost in his own little world, blocking out the rest of his environment with a click of his music playlist, no doubt filled with bands like Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin and MCR. Y/N wasn't going to lie, more than once she often thought about playing a G note near him just to see if he'd react or not. Thinking about him actually reacting to anything made her giggle on the inside.

"And there you go again!" Mingi's voice yelled in her ear.

She was so startled by his piercing scream, she actually fell over and hit the pavement kinda hard. She winced as she felt a pain on her derriere.

"Ow. Ow. Ow." She groaned as she began lifting herself up.

Out of nowhere, a pair of arms scooped her up and helped her stand upright.

"You all right?" The person asked.

"I think so. Thank you for-"

Her words got caught on her throat as a pair of dark brown eyes looked at her, black eyeliner smoked out to accentuate the shape of his eyes and make them look more intense than they already were.

He smirked at her before looking over at Mingi and nodding at him.

"Yunho sent you the invite right?"

Although he was quite familiar and somewhat friendly with Hongjoong, Mingi still had a hard time talking to him, so he merely tilted his head down in a half nod.

"So you're coming or are you going to stay home again and study for any surprise quiz Professor Nam might try to give us?"

Mingi poked his bottom lip out, somewhat offended at being called out like that. The dark male let out a soft snort.

"Seriously Mingi, going out once in a while won't hurt you. You don't even have to get fucked up if you don't want. Just come hang out."

Turning his attention back at the girl silently admiring him, he flashed her a wink.

"Bring a friend if you want too."

Bringing the headphones up to cover his overly pierced ears, he shoved his hands into his pockets and walked away in that usual way of his that made several people think he was on his way to commit a felony or crime.

Y/N watched him leave until he was completely out of sight, and even then, she still stayed staring at the corner he turned. Leaning in, Mingi stared at her with widened eyes.

"Your middle school phase of liking Andy Biersack copycats is really showing Y/N."

She scoffed and pushed his face away from hers.

"Shut up, you act like you didn't have your own infatuation with Hayley Williams."

Mingi stiffened, his ears turning slightly red at the memories.

"I got over it didn't I?"

"I don't know? Did you?" She wiggled her eyebrows at him teasingly.

And it's also one of the first I've read entirely in English, and as you know that Spanish is my native language, I assume you'll know that it was a bit complex. Although, I'm adapting a bit more to reading in English. Wish me luck, folks. In A Good Girl's Guide to Murder we follow Pippa Fitz-Amobi, a 17-year-old student whose final year project is the case of Andie Bell, who was murdered by her boyfriend, Sal Singh and taken for granted by the police. But Pippa knows Sal is innocent, so she decides to find out what happened five years ago and who really killed Andie Bell. Pippa discovers that Andie had many secrets, that she was not the beautiful and tragic victim that the people of Little Kilton martyred and idolised, branding Sal Singh a murderer and a monster, treating his family very badly for it. In addition, Little Kilton holds even more secrets that intrigue Pip and make her want to keep digging to solve the mystery. Writing. I don't think I remember reading a book like this, with diary-like entries speaking in first person and then in third person. It was a bit strange, if I'm honest, and it took me a bit longer to adjust. However, it was an easy read in some respects. And, I don't know if it's because of the difference between British and American English, but there were phrases that I had to look up because I didn't understand them, lmao. Plot. The plot kept me glued in my seat, not wanting to put my phone down, wanting to know what would happen next. I mention that I was late with this book because college is eating me alive, though I made time to keep reading because I was consumed with thoughts of not knowing what would happen, who the killer would be and if Pip was going to find out. There are a lot of plot twists that I wasn't expecting and a lot of things that made my brain almost melt from thinking about it so much. Pacing. It was a quick and light read, and I take back that I was late because of college: I would have finished it sooner if it weren't for homework. It's not that complicated to understand and the pages turn very quickly. Characters. Pip is a good girl, addicted to homework and determined to solve the Andie Bell case and prove that Sal Singh is innocent at all costs. So eager is she to find out what really happened, that she finds herself lying to others so that they won't worry about her and try to stop her from abandoning her project. Ravi is the younger brother of Sal Singh. He has been the target of criticism, and is known as the brother of Andie Bell's killer. Cara is Pip's best friend, her older sister is Naomi, who was in turn Sal's best friend and who also keeps a big secret that makes Pip dig very closely into her and her life, including her family. First of all, Pip felt a little bit dry and typical. She's a good girl who starts to lie for her project and she doesn't feel the same anymore. I mean, idk, I can't put it into words, I just hope she felt more real and not flat. Second, how quick all of the possible suspects told Pip the truth, when they lied to the police or omitted information. I found it quite unbelievable and a little bit ilogic. Also, Mr. Ward confessed really quick and it felt dry... I don't quite know how to explain it, but I was expecting more. Becca Bell also confessed really quick, and spilled her secrets out as she were talking about the weather, which also felt a little bit bitter. aND THE FINAL STRAW: BARNEY. NO. NO. NO. NOT MY BABY BARNEY. HE WAS AN ANGEL AND I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM WITH LOVE. LEANNE CRYING OVER THE CHRISTMAS' VIDEO OF BARNEY GIVING EVERYONE A SHOE BROKE ME DOWN.
