It’s wild that someone who hasn’t had to go without any need or luxury for decades would say this, but what’s wilder is that there is a large number of working class people who agree with her and will hurt themselves doing the mental gymnastics to defend this kind of messaging.

right through me ~ katsuki bakugo x reader
a/n: heyyy guys! super excited for this one, as this is one of my favorite songs! hope yall enjoy what my tired and emotional brain conceived. i haven’t written for kats publicly yet, pls lmk what yall think about him! i also intend on this being more than one part lol (p.s. i was dying my hair as i wrote this, so i apologize for errors if they’re there!)
warnings: swearing, katsuki pining after reader, jealous katsuki, fem!reader, everyone in the story is 18+
word count: 1.9k
youtube
you’re still a maybe,
he sucked on his teeth, rolling his eyes as he finished shoveling his food into his mouth. katsuki’s crimson eyes locked onto his best friend, a grimace frozen on his face as he watched you run up behind denki, a lovely giggle leaving your lips. as he turned around, you were caught red handed, about to tape a ‘kick me’ sign on his back. his scowl only deepened as you ran away from the goof you called one of your closest friends, denki, hiding behind another one of your friends, hanta, who had provided you with the tape in the first place. denki ended up hot on your tail, his words to you incoherent, the blood in katsuki’s ears muffling all the sound around him.
why would you hide behind tape arms, dumbass? i’m right here…
so could you think about it rationally?
“y’alright, man?” eijiro asked his hotheaded friend, tuning out of the conversation with kyoka, mina, and momo for a moment to check on him. the girls continued to chatter among themselves as katsuki rolled his eyes again,
“‘m fine jackass, stop paying attention to me.” katsuki said tiredly, his eyes flicking over to you, hanta, and denki messing around and goofing off on the other side of the cafeteria near the napkins and utensils. the girls’ chatter was interrupted by the sound of the metal spoon in katsuki’s hand splintering, his anger finding an outlet despite him not paying attention.
kyoka leaned closer to katsuki, over the empty seat between the two of them, having known him too long to be scared by his aggression anymore, “dude, just ask her out. its so painful watching you pine over her like this, seriously dude, she’s your best friend, and besides, its painfully obvious that-”
“-and weren’t we telling you the same thing about ponytail over there?” his usual moniker for kyoka’s girlfriend never leaving, despite how many times she told him to simply call her momo, or at least her last name.
“exactly, katsuki. i told mo how i feel, and look at us now. why are you so insistent that y/n doesn’t like you back? she spends the most time with you out of anyone, even since high school!” kyoka said, a little exasperated, her eyes attempting to connect with katsuki’s own. your group of morons had all known each other since your first year in highschool and had all had excellent test scores, granting your entrance to the number one hero university in japan. you and katsuki had met in middle school, meeting mina, eijiro, kyoka, momo, hanta, and denki in high school. you had garnered everyone’s attention, the friend group essentially forming around you, katsuki unwilling to be their friends, only giving in because of the smile on your face when you gave him a bowl of his favorite spicy ramen to sweeten the deal of going out to hang out with your new friends from school.
but to be honest, you didn’t even have to offer anything. katsuki knew he felt differently about you than he did for any of his other friends at that moment, immediately noticing the elevation in his heart rate when you pulled him into an excited hug. he hesitated a moment before awkwardly patting your head, unsure of how to handle this sudden affection you had displayed.
“okay, well that’s your situation, earphones, just because she’s my best friend and happens to hang out with me all the time doesn’t mean that she likes me too.” the blond scoffed, turning his head back to y/n, his heart pounding as he watched her approach their table. “ ‘sides, we’ve been friends since we were kids, i don’t wanna screw that up,” he said, his eyes landing on the spot to his right that was left open, just for her. like always. any time anyone’s even joked about sitting in your seat, he’s threatened to blow up whoever it was making the joke.
katsuki couldn’t deny that there was possibly a chance that his confession could end as well it did for ponytail and earphones, but he instead gritted his teeth, electing to fill his mouth with more food, “i don’t want to talk about this with you losers anymore.” he decided, making sure to shovel another big scoop of food into his mouth, subconsciously tilting his head down to hide his stuffed cheeks from you.
“wait!” mina interrupted a little louder than she intended, causing momo, kyoka, eijiro, and katsuki to all look at her. “you’re coming tomorrow night right?” she asked the blond sitting directly across from her.
your hot headed best friend shook his head, “i told you, i’m not going to some stupid fucking-”
you walked behind katsuki, squeezing his shoulder as he untucked your chair with his foot, his face partially obscured by his muscular arm, you took your seat and smiled brightly at him, thanking him.
you quickly began to tell your friends what you and hanta had just attempted against denki as they slid into their designated seats, denki next to kyoka and hanta next to eijiro. you were completely oblivious to the conversation going on at the table before you arrived, entirely oblivious too, to the look mina was giving katsuki.
i’ll let you sleep on it and call me in the morning,
that evening, katsuki lay awake, his hands resting behind his head as he stared up at the ceiling. his black ceiling was decorated with shitty glow in the dark stickers that you put up on his sixteenth birthday.
you know it’s hard to find someone like you,
stupid pink hair’s invitation to her party and earphone’s words swirled around his mind, causing him to grimace as he sat up, picking up the green thermos you had gifted him last christmas. he slugged down some water, hoping it’d help him get to sleep. his thoughts were only of you, his mind almost starting to spin from the decadence of you. it had taken katsuki about three years to fully come to terms with the fact that he liked you, let alone that he was falling hard and fast. katsuki didn’t do crushes, not on anyone, which is why it sent him reeling so hard when your shared friend group finally got through to him and helped him admit to himself how he felt about you. the first semblance of any ‘abnormality’ that he felt towards you was the night of his sixteenth, but it wasn’t until only a few months ago that he realized what he felt for you was more than friendship.
kyoka had caught him glaring bullets into some guy from another class, a boy who happened to be blushing in your presence through no fault of your own. you were carrying on the conversation and kept eye contact for no other reason than to show him you were listening to him. however, it seemed that no other girl had ever granted him that respect, rendering you oblivious to the way his pupils were expanding at the sight of you.
“yo, you hear me, loudmouth?” kyoka asked, her arms now crossed over her chest as she realized katsuki had zoned out,
katsuki ignored her for a second longer, leading to his downfall, his anger towards the man in your presence palpable. kyoka noticed the anger in katsuki’s air and her brows furrowed as she turned around to steal a glance at what her friend was staring at,
she immediately noticed that katsuki was staring at you angrily, almost ready to bitch slap him for directing his probably pointless anger at you, until she followed his gaze closer and gasped loudly,
“SHUT THE FUCK UP, NO WAY, YOU LIKE-?!”
kyoka’s voice came out shrilly, in a shout so loud that katsuki swore that you would’ve turned your head at the sound. but, you were too occupied with other things, and clearly, so was the boy with whom you held conversation.
katsuki had tackled kyoka behind the entrance of the ice skating rink, the two of them disappearing from sight as mina and denki’s heads flicked in their direction.
“ears, if you say a goddamn word about this to anybody, i swear to god-”
katsuki heard thudding metal against the ice and suddenly denki and eijiro were pulling katsuki off of kyoka, and mina was helping her up. momo was at the snack stand, buying her and her crush some candy. she was just getting back to the rink’s entrance when she noticed the commotion with her friends,
“what’s going on?!” momo asked, rushing to help kyoka dust off, timid blushes on both of their faces.
“EARS.” katsuki said with warning,
“katsuki likes y/n!”
think with your heart like you always do,
the memory of you waking up extra early and skipping school to decorate his entire room and living room for his surprise party that night tightened his chest in a good way, leaving him unable to fight the smile that formed on his face. he let his body fall back onto the bed as he let himself remember the night you stuck those stupid stars to his bedroom ceiling.
he was dejected after not seeing you at school that day, annoyed and maybe a little hurt that his best friend hadn’t told him that she wasn’t showing up to school that day, on his birthday of all days. he entered his house, his vision tunneling on his room despite the heavily decorated living room. he slammed open his door, scaring the shit out of you. you had jumped, leading you to trip over katsuki’s sheets and stumble off the bed. in an instant, katsuki had caught you, entirely bewildered to see you here after not having seen you at school.
“happy birthday, kats…” you were in shock, surprised to see katsuki home already, and even more surprised to see that he caught you so quickly. but it was kats after all, you knew he would never let you fall if he still held oxygen in his lungs.
katsuki stepped away from the edge of the bed, gently placing you back on your feet as if you would break at any increase in force. he then noticed the sign hanging above his bed that he could tell was handmade by you. his breath caught in his lungs as he noticed the care you had put into his decorations, realizing everything but the glow in the dark stars now decorating his ceiling was handmade.
katsuki’s heart thudded at an unfamiliar pace, his heart starting to pound when he realized how much you cared about him, and in turn, how much he cared about you.
“what the fuck…? y/n, you…made all of this up for me?” the boy asked in disbelief, his eyes flickering over all of the decorations cluttering his room in his favorite way possible. she had even taped a party hat to the poster of all might that hung in his room next to his closet.
you nodded nervously and excitedly, anxious for how he was going to react.
he didn’t even remember the party itself that much, his mind focusing on retaining the memory of you placing a gentle and platonic kiss on his cheekbone for the first time.
just be sure it’s what you want and you’ve made up your mind
katsuki finally snapped back to reality before immediately speeding towards his phone, charging on the desk across the room.

My Steven Stone Headcanons! <3
Just felt like typing these out tbh lol, should I share some for other characters too?
idk we’ll see
anyway, let’s get to it! :D ✰ ~
He’s asexual biromantic :)
He realised he was bi pretty early on in his life, but didn’t realise he was ace until after he turned 20
transmasc !! I don’t take criticism on this,,,, like just look at the guy and tell me it’s not true
Yeah he knew this since he was a kid
His dad is very supportive btw, incase anyone was wondering
Used to be really shy as a kid
he loved exploring new places but hated people
as an adult he’s still not the biggest fan of a huge crowd, but he’ll put on a smile and attempt to make conversation
he just perfers smaller hangouts with close friends (and I can’t blame the guy for that)
Metagross was his first pokemon
his dad got him a Beldum as a kid
A shiny one! I love that they gave him a shiny metagross in the anime, so like, I’m going with that one lol
He became champion at a ridicioulusly young age, he was 12
a lot of people used to think he just got handed the title, or his father payed the league to make him a champion, eventually he managed to prove that he earned the title himself
Childhood friends with Wallace, Lance & Cynthia
except he didn’t meet them at the same time
He met Wallace during his journey through Hoenn, when he was 10 and Wallace was 11
He just happened to run into a kid with a feebas, they seemed to be training
Wallace told him about contests, Steven seemed slightly interested but when asked if he wanted to join he quickly refused
those two would run into each other more often throughout their journeys, becoming closer each time
He met Lance first as a kid, he was 10 and Lance was 12
They became rivals/friends quickly
They weren’t together often, with both of them being from different regions
but when they were they’d get into a lot of trouble together
When Steven became champion Lance already had his title, so his friend helped him out a lot
He met Cynthia when they were both 13
He was a bit intimidated by her at first
especially since she didn’t open up to him quickly
but they soon became close friends and rivals
He was ecstatic when those two became champions of Kanto/Johto and Sinnoh
They became a trio soon after
Sucks at naming pokemon, like actually sucks at it, it’s why he doesn’t name them lol
His pokemon do have nicknames, but they were named by friends, by which I mean Wallace, just Wallace
except Metagross, that’s the only pokemon Steven nicknamed himself
Honestly at the time of writing this I still haven’t figured out a nickname yet, I was thinking Osmi, short for Osmium, I just like the way it sounds lol
Also Osmium is a type of metal, so like, it fits :)
I’m gonna say this now, since I’m about to talk about ships, but I’m not an originshipper, sorry :P
They’re cute but idk I just don’t ship it lol
I like neochampionshipping better
the lack of content for these is criminal
anyway, Steven fell first
but Lance fell harder
Except both of them are idiots who fail to see the other likes them back, despite the other making it blatantly obvious
these oblivious lil shits I swear-
Steven always vents to Wallace or Diantha about it
Both of them can genuinely not believe that Steven and Lance aren’t a thing yet
Steven ends up confessing first btw
And because Lance is a flustered moron who took too long to react, it could’ve gone very wrong very quickly
Because the lack of reaction made Steven think he didn’t like him back
but like they quickly resolve that
Honestly I could go on about those two but I don’t want this to become a ship headcanon list
Outsiders seem to think Steven is the smart one of the group
he’s not
He may occasionaly borrow the single shared braincell from Diantha
but apart from those (rare) moments this man is absolute disaster
He can spend hours at a time in his home office studying geology
he will be so occupied with it he will forget to take care of himself, because rocks are more important
The others have made it a thing to barge in and drag him out of there from time to time
or like, at least call him to remind him to drink water instead of playing with rocks 24/7
“That rock looks pretty” - literally anyone
“actually-” *proceeds to infodump about it* - Steven
He likes cartoons
will definitely end up burning the kitchen down when cooking
but is somehow really great at baking???
I don’t think he’s a huge sweet tooth but he’s definitely addicted to chocolate
I refuse to believe he’s not a dog person
I want to believe he has a lycanroc
He’s surprisingly good at video games
He doesn’t pay often though, perfers to do other things
but like if someone asks him to play with them he will
He has this specific face he makes when he’s angry and it tends to scare the others
It takes a lot to make Steven angry
I imagine him to be insanely patient
He just wants to be left alone with his rocks
He has a tiny aron he takes with him to caves and stuff, creatively named Spot
Spot was named by my oc Robin, but I don’t really wanna get into specifics about them
What I will say about Steven & Robin’s relationship is that he’s a bit of a mentor to them
but yeah that’s all I’m saying about Robin, they’re not really relevant to this post lol
Honestly this list is already pretty long imo, so I’ll leave it here lol
cya next time I guess ✰ ~
#I spend too much time thinking about this character#He's the best champion I don't take criticism#also I think he might be autistic#steven stone#pokemon#pokemon headcanons#headcanons

Moment In Time
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Summary: Just when you've gotten out, you’re given a reason to come back.
Warnings: Nothing for now unless I missed something.
Chapter 1
* * * * * * *
Music plays in your ears as the surrounding area blurs past you. Taking yet another lap around the overly large fountain, you feel the smallest drop of sweat trickle down the side of your head.
Running for two and a half hours seems to finally be yielding results.
You slow down some and a quiet, sarcastic, chuckle falls from your lips when another group of joggers passes by. They’d gotten here an hour ago and they were practically dripping sweat.
With a shake of your head you finish the lap in a matter of minutes, stopping afterwards and taking your headphones out. You take a few deep breaths as you look around.
The New York sky is as blue as it always is this time of year. People stroll by about a yard from where you stand, the streets and sidewalks bustling as usual, a few other runners on the same trail you just took.
A contented sigh leaves your lips.
For the first time in years, a calm peace washes over you. It’d taken you years to come to the decision to stop working, followed by a few months to mentally settle into your “retirement” as you’d been told it was.
The world doesn’t exactly need you anymore, earth’s mightiest heroes are doing all the saving and protecting now. Some of them you trust with your life while others you haven’t even met. All in all, you believe they’ve been getting the job done fairly well. Which made your retirement all the more easy.
If not working feels like this, you take another deep breath, you could get used to it.
Adjusting your headphones back into your ears, you barely jog three feet into your next lap when your phone rings. Fishing it out of your pocket, you sigh at the name displayed at the top and answer.
“Agent Y/Ln,” Fury’s voice floats into your ears,“ I need a favor.”
Just like that, you get the feeling you aren’t going to have the chance to get used to retirement.
* * * * * * *
Another uniformed guard walks by, his eyes glancing over at the two people in the cell, before he continues his leisure stroll down the hall.
The brunette archer runs his tongue across his bottom lip, eyes narrowing just barely before yet another pebble flicks across the cell and bounces off the wall right beside the ear of an already agitated ex-assassin.
“Barton, I swear to god if another rock comes within a foot of my face I will kill you before these morons even have the chance to consider it.” Natasha seethes, jaw clenching in frustration.
Clint snorts to hold in a laugh, raising his hands in surrender.“ My bad.”
Sighing heavily for the millionth time today, Natasha leans her head back against the cement wall, fingers gingerly running over the uncomfortable matching cement floor.
“You sure you don’t wanna play finger football with me?” He asks, flicking a triangular piece of paper towards his friend.
“Clint what the h-” she glares from him to the paper then back,“ where did you even get that?”
Letting his amused smile show, he answers,“ my pocket,” with a casual shrug,“ never know when you’re gonna get captured by psychotic evil German scientists.”
Pinching the bridge of her nose, the red head holds in every noise of frustration and foul word in her arsenal. She already can’t believe she allowed herself to get captured, Clint’s incessantly childish behavior is only adding to her bad mood.
A mere eight hours ago she’d been on a very easy mission with her team. Infiltration and intel gathering was a form of work she was overly familiar with, having done it before and during her time with SHIELD and the Avengers.
But with a new recruit on the team, and this having been his first infiltration mission, figuratively communicative wires got crossed.
A simple “payload secure” came across as something different in Sam’s ears, what he heard she can’t even try to guess, but it led to him coming her way with a shit load of guards. Disgruntled sounds of fighting drew Clint to their location but even then the amount of enemies was overwhelming.
Distress calls were cut short and staticy through the short communication devices they had. So, being the only one with a clear and easy route out of the chaos, Sam was given the task to get out while he could and to send back up.
The seconds after he left, Natasha and Clint were taken, blinded, stripped of their weapons and comms, and brought to this cell.
While they were aware of the rescue coming for them, they still looked for a way out but found none. Especially not with the rotation of guards that patrolled by every half hour. Like clockwork, another was headed their way.
The whistling of an all too American song rang through the halls, slipping into the cell and grabbing the attention of both agents.
Clint’s eyebrows pinch together when the guard stops in front of the cell, then turns to face them. His calculating gaze trails over their body while an equally observant Natasha looks as well.
She stares at the guard, a stone cold expression masking her face as she commits your appearance to memory. Your eyes, hair, the build of your body currently clad in the same blue uniform as the other guards. Something was different though.
While the guards came off as exactly what they are, lackeys for whoever is running this show, you are much bigger. The look on your face isn’t as submissive and blank as the others.
Clint scoffs, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees, eyes scanning over you,“ what’re you? A new hire?” He asks sarcastically, deciding to speak as he knows Natasha won’t say a word.“ Send you in to intimidate us?”
A silent moment passes.
“Buddy, you think I’m the bad guy?” You tilt your head with a raised eyebrow. A little chuckle leaves your lips at the confused expression he pulls and the one Natasha tries to hide.
Taking a step closer to the cage, you slip your arms between the cast iron bars and lace your fingers together.“ I’m here to save your asses. Since you went and got yourselves captured.”
For the first time Natasha speaks, a velvety soft voice flowing from the cement box into your ears,“ who sent you?”
Her green eyes look into yours and that, coupled with her voice, intrigues you even more. Seeing as you are more than aware of who Black Widow is. But you know now isn’t the time to fall into a gay panic over a gorgeous woman.
“Fury.” You answer,“ it’s not often Nick calls in a favor so I had to come. Now, let’s say we get out of here yeah?” They both watch as you grab hold of the bars, pulling one good time, arms flexing as you easily break the lock and send the door sliding open and slamming into the wall.
Clint and Natasha share a look as you step inside, walking over to Clint and breaking his chains first, then going to do the same to Natasha.
You raise an eyebrow at her expression after breaking the first chain,“ listen red, you don’t have to trust me.” She stands up and looks down at you, until you rise up and look down at her.“ But you do need to trust Fury. Got any complaints, take it up with him after you’re not surrounded by a bunch of lunatics with guns.”
With that she watches you exit the cell, looking left and right, then waving them forward as you go left down the corridor.
The two agents follow you as you silently incapacitate every guard in your path, sharing a look for the third time today.
As you’re taking down your tenth guard, Clint looks from you to Natasha.“ Are we really supposed to believe they’re on our side? Cause,” he takes a deep breath and releases it.
“They’re trusted by Fury.” Natasha looks at her friend,“ and that’s all I need to know for now.”
Stopping in front of a door, you peek through the glass, then take a step back. You square your shoulders and adjust the cap on your head, smiling dazzlingly at the two.
“Do me a favor, wait around that corner,” you point to the opposite side of them where a dark empty pocket sits in the hallway,“ and try not to get captured again.” You wink and step into the room without another word.
They stare at the door you disappeared into, long enough to hear you speak.
“Wo sind die Gefangenen in Zelle 4 hingegangen?”
Natasha understood your words perfectly fine but Clint was a little lost. The short silence followed your continued shout of,“ Finde sie! Jetzt! Eile!”
Eyes wide Natasha grabs Clint’s hand and pulls them into the dark just before a slew of guards pour out of the room and down the same way you’d all just come from.
Clint and Natasha barely have a chance to blink before the door beside them opens. Sunlight streams through the door, followed by you coming out of the room.
“Figured you might want these back,” you say as you stop in front of them and hold their confiscated weapons out to them.
Clint is quick to sling his quiver around his shoulders, extending his bow and hugging it, a quiet ‘I missed you’ muttered under his breath toward the inanimate object.
A snort of a laugh leaves your lips before Natasha takes her batons from you and holsters them at her sides.
Taking your cap off, you toss it aside and smooth your hand through your hair.“ Cover was blown about thirty seconds ago so,” you nod to the outside,“ let’s get to that fancy jet you’ve got a few miles out before the fireworks start.”
Flashing another confident smirk, you slip out the door. The two agents follow closely behind you. All three of you work almost flawlessly in taking down the guards in your path to the jet.
It comes into view and you stop to let them run ahead of you, turning to look at the building as it seemingly spontaneously combusts in three specific locations.
Satisfied with your work, you nod and turn around. Almost all eyes are on you as you jog up the ramp into the jet. A silent crunch is heard before you toss crumpled plastic and wires out of your hand.
“Can’t have them tracing that back to us.” You say, stepping fully into the jet and looking around as the door closes behind you.
Stern blue eyes stare into yours, an almost upset march carrying him to stand in front of you.“ If there’s anyone alive.” He says angrily.“ Did you stop to think how many people you may have just killed?”
Your eyebrow quirks up at his tone of voice. Trailing your eyes down his body you mentally purse your lips and nod. Admittedly you could see why Peggy was so smitten. Assuming he didn’t take this type of attitude with her.
However you can’t say you’re taken with the Captain America. His already condescending attitude wasn’t something you liked and while you know it’s a possibility he’s just this way cause you don’t know each other, it’s also possible he’s just an ass. Either way he isn’t why you’re here.
“Captain,” you nod,“ always thought our first meeting would be more pleasant than this. But aye, they say you’re never supposed to meet your idols right.” You shrug and step around him, making to head to the front of the jet.
Only his hand grips your arm and he spins you around with a glare now on his flawless looking face.
Glancing down at the offending hand on your arm, you figure he’s nonverbally demanding an explanation so you give it.“ There were charges at both entrances and the security room. I made sure to send everyone away from those areas before I blew it up. There may be some minor injuries, if that. But next time I’ll just leave and give them every opportunity to come after us, Captain.” You tell him, gripping his hand in yours and prying it from your arm.
His glare turns to a slight look of surprise. While his grip hadn’t been enough to hurt an ordinary human, yours was equal to, if not potentially stronger, than his true strength. Enough force to have broken anyone else’s hand in multiple places.
“Who are you?” He asks, maintaining his attitude.
Not one for dealing with that, you mumble your name to him and go to the front of the jet.
Your blank face morphs into a smile at the sight of the man in the pilot's seat.“ Never was one to give up control huh?” You ask teasingly as you drop your hand on his shoulder.
His gaze lands on you with a quick snap of his head towards you. The smirk on your face and the fact that it was actually you, made him snicker.
Making quick work of throwing the jet on autopilot, he moved his chair back and stood up to pull you into a hug, to the shock and surprise of every member of his team.
“Good to see you T.” You pat his back before pulling away.
A smile tugs on his lips and he nods.“ Ditto. This doesn’t count by the way.” He points a finger at you as you clap your hand on his shoulder.
“It definitely counts. A save is a save. Might not have been you exactly but-”
Waving you off he mumbles,“ yeah yeah.” Then looks at his teammates, his arm wrapping around your shoulders despite the height difference.“ I take it you met the team.” He says to which you nod.
“Can’t say they’re all that fond of me.” You chuckle softly, eyes scanning over the still agitated Captain America, a man in a modified flight suit, and the two people you just saved.“ Are they always so annoyed when they get their asses saved or is it me?”
Tony shrugs,“ Capsicle always been a little icy.” He jokes and you laugh, shaking your head and pushing him away from you.“ Nat is- well she’s Nat. I think she’s starting to warm up to me but that’s taken quite a bit of time hasn’t it Romanoff?”
His gaze directs to the redhead and you follow it. Your eyebrow raises at the mocking smile she gives Tony followed by her asking,“ who exactly is Y/n and how do you know each other?”
Both you and Tony glance at each other and you take the liberty of answering her question. Speaking to her directly gives you the chance to truly look into her green eyes, which you must admit you find very beautiful.
A range of emotions flicker over everyone’s faces as you dip your toe into your long complicated past. You simplify your back story, only telling them that you met Tony his family, that you’re a super soldier, created after Steve went into the ice, and that you’ve been a part of SHIELD for a while.
There were many questions thrown your way and you heavily debated with yourself whether or not you wanted to tell them everything. You didn’t think it’d hurt to be a little mysterious. But there’s also the thought that you won’t be seeing these people much anyway so does it truly matter if they know who you are.
Whatever decision you’d come to ceased to matter as the jet landed. The door opened and your eyes raised to read the words written across the top of the building.
“Avengers?” You mumble, glancing at your long time friend/brother. He makes that face, that “what’re you gonna do” nonchalant face Tony always makes. With a shake of your head, you follow him inside, but instead of going with him towards the hallway, you b-line for the elevators.
Tony’s voice calls out to you, effectively grabbing the attention of his teammates,“ not joinin us Y/nn?”
You look back over towards him, your eyes landing on Natasha’s green ones first then on Tony. Smiling a little you shake your head,“ debriefing isn’t for retirees, Stark.”
Natasha frowns at your words and Tony shakes his head with a breathy chuckle.
All of you turn away from each other, them heading to the meeting room and you facing the elevator as the doors slide open.
“Agent, glad you could stick around for the debrief.” Fury says, making you frown and shake your head.
“No no,” you raise a finger, essentially telling him to hold up.“ I’m not an agent. Retired, remember.”
He stops walking to look back at you. Tilting his head, he raises his eyebrow,“ that was until today. I believe you did some work, seeing as Natasha and Clint are back.”
A heavy sigh leaves your lips and you drop your head, groaning lowly,“ Nick please. You know-”
“That you’re on your way to the meeting room. Glad to hear it.” Leaving no more room to talk, he turns and walks away, breezing past the few Avengers who’d stayed behind to watch the interaction.
Grumbling under your breath, you follow after the man. Tony slaps his hand onto your shoulder, a small amused smirk on his lips as he guides you to the meeting room.
With a, in your opinion, justified glare directed at Fury, you plop down into a chair. The man snorts at the huff you let out, averting his eyes to everyone else who comes in.
To your surprise and silent pleasure, Natasha ends up occupying the chair on your other side. When her eyes land on you, you give a small smile and wiggle your fingers in a short wave.
Her eyes narrow at you and you wink. She just barely lifts a brow at the way your face morphs from one of amusement to a no nonsense expression.
You straighten up in your seat, fingers lacing together and resting on the table as your gaze focuses on Fury.
Natasha finds it a bit of a struggle to take her eyes off of you. Since the second she saw you back in Berlin she hasn’t been able to get a clear read on you.
“Romanoff, can I have your attention?” Fury tilts his head and looks directly into Natasha’s eyes.“ Or is that too much to ask?” His tone takes a sassy turn and the redhead rolls her eyes, focusing on him.
The debriefing goes exactly how everyone is used to it going. They go over the original objective of the mission, then everyone gives a run down of what happened: the part they played, how they contributed to the objective, and in this case how things went south.
“Y/Ln,” Fury says, making Natasha’s gaze snap over to you. Had you been looking at her, you would’ve seen the surprise flicker through those green orbs.
“Director,” you nod in reply before going into detail about your infiltration into the German base and the extraction of Natasha and Clint.
All while you talk, Natasha looks at you. You, Agent Y/n Y/Ln. She can’t believe she didn’t connect the dots. Fury sent you in. You’d told her your name. She should’ve seen it. Everyone at SHIELD knows who you are. A lot of people outside of SHIELD know about you as well.
Your explanation of who you were in the quinjet wasn’t even the tip of the iceberg. She didn’t think this often of someone but: you are a legend.
“- things considered,” Natasha regains focus on the conversation, looking away from you to Fury as you speak,“ the mission could’ve gone off flawlessly.”
The man crosses his arms and shifts his weight,“ and what would you say the problem is Agent?”
“Underestimation sir. Or maybe misinformation.” Your response is a bit of a shock to everyone. You take their silence as an opportunity to further explain. You thought it was simple.
The mission was to grab intel from a science lab. As to be expected, the scientists and information there would be guarded. The underestimation or misinformation came in how heavily guarded the place was. Whatever surveillance or recon they had done wasn’t enough. So when they went in to collect they were overwhelmed or caught off guard which resulted in Natasha’s and Clint’s capture.
Everyone takes your words in stride, majority of them processing it and storing it for a time in which they’ll need to use it.
Shortly after that the debriefing ends with a few, what you know is meant to be taken as, encouraging words from Fury. Everyone stands after he’s left, starting to file out.
Once again as you make to leave, Tony stops you. He slaps your arm and you know he’d used as much force as he could behind the action.
Used to this from him, you sigh and shake your head, a small amused smirk on your lips as you look at him.“ What is it now Tony?”
He smiles at you,“ why don’t you hang out for a bit. Haven’t seen the tower yet.” You raise your eyebrow at him, gaze flicking to the redhead that walks past behind him, her eyes on you for a second before she looks away. Smile turning into a smirk he adds,“ you might just find a reason to stick around.”

Ocean Eyes
Pairing: Saul Silva x reader
Request: saul silva from fate: the winx saga x student secret love. Anonymous
A/N The reader is on their final year at Alfea therefore in their twenties. I have no clue what age you graduate from Alfea but I want it to be clear that the reader is of age.
You’re supposed to wait for him to come back. It’s the reason you’re currently pacing back and forth in your room. You’d told him you should come with him but he claimed he wouldn’t be able to focus. As much as you wanted to call his bullshit you knew you had no ground to stand on. You’re still two months away from graduating as a specialist meaning he outranks you in every possible way and you just have to follow orders. That doesn’t mean that you’re good at it. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to get out there when Farah comes to say that some of the first years have gone missing.
“I’ll go have a look, ma’am. I’m sure they’re fine.” She looks preoccupied which suits you just fine as you turn around and walk to the grounds. It doesn’t take long for you to find their tracks but you’re surprised when you realise where they’re heading.
“Oh no,” you mumble to yourself as you speed up your pace. You knew they were stupidly brave but this goes beyond any moronic idea of courage. They could get killed. You hear the scream before you see them.
“Saul?” His name sounds like a question but there’s no doubt in your mind what has happened here. The Burned One got out and killed the entire team. How Saul is even breathing is beyond you.
“We have to get him back to school.” You look up at the frightened first years and you instantly know that you can’t lose your cool right now. They don’t know of your relationship with Saul and regardless of that they are in no way capable of thinking clearly right now.
“Someone call Farah. We need to get him to your father, Terra. He’ll make Silva better. Where’s the rest of your group?”
“Answer me!” You don’t mean to raise your voice but time is of the essence right now.
“They went that way.” Musa points towards the shed and you can’t help but curse. Why would they split up when there’s a Burned One on the loose?
“I need you to stay with Silva and make sure he’s alright until Farah gets here. You understand? Under no circumstances do you leave his side.” Every fiber of your being is screaming at you to not leave Saul but you know you have to think like a soldier right now. Farah will take care of him.
“I’ll be back.” You run in the direction Musa guided you leaving behind your heart. By the time you find the two fairies, they’re ripping something off the body of a Burned One.
“I don’t even want to know what the hell happened. But you need to come with me. Now!” You don’t have time to worry why they would ever go after a Burned One. When you hear that Stella returned to school, you breathe out a sigh of relief. That means you can return now. Everything seems blurry as you head back to Alfea. The only thing on your mind is Saul. Did they kill the right Burned One? Farah’s face is enough of a confirmation that they did not.
“I need to talk to you,” she says in a stern voice.
“Headmistress, do you need me?” you ask. When she shakes her head, you walk towards the school. You want to sprint to his room and check on him, but you know you can’t risk it in the daylight. Waiting for nighttime is excruciating but at last the moon shines on the sky and you deem it safe enough to wander the halls. At this point, you could retrace the steps from your room to his by memory. Exactly 10 minutes later you’re standing in front of his door. You take a moment to listen for any sound. When you’re satisfied, you open the door quietly and slip inside.
“Saul?” you whisper trying not to scare him. He’s sleeping heavily which you’ve never ever experienced in the two years you’ve been together. Rather than climbing into bed with him, you pull over a chair and take his hand in yours. He looks so vulnerable sleeping.
“It’s not polite to stare at someone who’s trying to sleep,” he mumbles not even bothering to open his eyes. You laugh but it turns into a sob instead. Finally you’re able to let yourself feel all the anxiety and worry of today. When you saw him lying there, you wondered if it would be the last time.
“I need you to look at me.” He slowly opens his eyes and even in the dim lighting from the moon, you see his piercing blue eyes clearly. You once compared the ice blue colour to the ocean. It’s the best way to describe them and the feeling they give you when you lock eyes with him.
“Hi,” he whispers lifting his hand to stroke your cheek. Tears are flowing freely as you look at him. He’s not healing which mean the fairies didn’t get the right Burned One.
“I’m sorry I didn’t come sooner,” you whisper relishing in the feeling of his touch.
“I’ve been in and out all day. It wouldn’t have mattered much.” You know he says it out of kindness but it makes you feel even worse. You wish you could’ve been by his side even if he was just sleeping. This sneaking around made everything so much worse whenever one of you got hurt.
“It would’ve mattered to me.” He doesn’t hear you and maybe it’s for the best. The last thing you want to do is start a fight right now.
“Can you do me a favour?” he asks but he starts to cough. Immediately, you’re grabbing the glass of water by his bedside and helps him take a few sips. Just this little movement causes him more pain than you can imagine.
“Smile. Please. I need you to smile for me instead of looking like I might die.” You want to point out that he is in fact dying right now if the Burned One isn’t located but he knows that already so it seems futile to bring it up. Instead you wipe away the tears and put on a brave face for him.
“There it is. I’m feeling better already,” he says pulling your arm to get you closer. And he does in fact seem better as you lean down to kiss him gently. You decide to put the possible consequences of his injures to the back of your mind for tonight and just enjoy that you’re both breathing and alive.
“I love you. And in two months when I graduate, I will be screaming it from the rooftop. Consider yourself warned.” He smiles as he tugs a strand of hair behind your ear.
“I’ll be standing right next to you, love.”
“You should get some rest. But I’ll stay until dawn.” You hush him when he protests. He’s always been so stubborn much to your annoyance.
“At least lie down with me then. I’ll never fall asleep if you’re in the room but not in bed with me.” It sounds cheesy but you understand the feeling. Most of the time you can hardly think straight when he’s in the room. You lie down next to him being very careful not to touch him. As much as you want to cuddle up next to him, you know it’ll be too painful for him.
“Give me your hand,” you say closing your hands around his and leading it to your chest. It’s almost become a sort of tradition at this point. Whoever needs it most places their hand on the other’s chest to feel the heartbeat. It has a calming effect on you both.
“I wish I could do so much more than just lie next to you,” Saul admits making you laugh.
“All in good time, handsome.”

Sleepy Jaegers
summary: eren and y/n are at a gathering at armin’s place, and their 2 year old is exhausted. eren is equally as exhausted.
pairing: dad!eren jaeger x fem!reader
word count: 1.69k
warnings: none, fluffff
a/n: sigh my baby fever possessed me to write this 💔 might make armin a father as well if people end up liking this one (i will anyway) 😋
These gatherings were almost like a ritual to the group.
There wasn’t ever a specific place they met, they would always gather in different places, wether it’d be the beach, a park, or at one of their homes. It didn’t matter where it took place, just as long as everyone was there. Everyone was obligated to come.
So of course that includes the littlest Jaeger.
It was mid September, and although the weather wasn’t bad at all, some didn’t really feel like going out to public places like the local park, so the group decided on Armin’s new place, since Sasha and Annie still have yet to see it (their homes are farther from the rest)
They were all gathered in the spacious living room; Jean and Sasha on the long couch, while Mikasa and Armin sat on the smaller one. Historia and Ymir shared the beige-colored chair in the corner of the room, while Annie sat on one of the kitchen stools as she watched Y/N and Connie do the dishes (Armin insisted, but the two almost threatened him if he were to touch a dish).
As soon as Eren walked in, he all but restricted anyone from sitting on the big beige reclining sofa, claiming that he deserved it for helping Armin pick it out. Eren was grateful for going to Ikea that day with Armin to pick out the sofa he was now slouched on, recliner out and all. It was now his favorite spot in the whole house (besides the kitchen, since he loved playing around with the smart refrigerator).
As Y/N passed another dish for Connie to rinse and dry, she suddenly felt a tug on her pants, looking down to meet the tired eyes of her daughter.
She was quick to rinse and dry her hands to pick her up, giving all of her attention to the little girl. “Aw, what’s wrong Mimi? Everything alright?” She asked, already noticing the fatigue on her face.
She only snuggled into her mother’s neck, giving her the simple response of, “Tired.” Her vocabulary was fairly short, due to the fact that she was only 2 and learned her words from the ones around her (Eren got in big trouble the day Y/N heard the word ‘shit’ come out of her daughter’s mouth).
Y/N wasn’t surprised she got tired easily today, since Jean gave her more candy then Y/N would usually allow. And with the way her, Ymir, and Mikasa were running around in the yard earlier today, Y/N already saw this coming.
“You’re tired?” she asked again, earning a nod from the crook of her neck. “Okay, mommy’s almost done. Go sit next to daddy until I finish, okay?” She tells her, moving her head back to face her daughter again. Myra nodded, allowing her mother to put her down.
Walking tiredly, Myra slowly moved through the kitchen and made her way to the living room, spotting her father laidback in the corner of the room, limbs sprawled out on the sofa.
Eren wasn’t sure if it was the father instincts, but he was the first to notice her presence in the room, stopping the ghost story Jean swears is real to bring his full attention to his daughter.
“Mimi’s come to save us, everyone!” Eren exclaims, throwing jazz hands up as everyone joined and cheered her on for simply walking in. Jean didn’t like what Eren was implying, but clapped nonetheless.
“You’re not funny. Aren’t dads supposed to tell good jokes?” He questioned, attempting to steal a fry from Sasha’s plate, but failing miserably as she only swats his hand away.
“No Jean, I think it’s the other way around, they’re supposed to be corny.” Armin butts in, watching with a smile as Myra finally starts walking towards her father.
Eren could already see the fatigue on her face, holding his arms out for her once she got a little closer. “What’s up Mimi, you tired?” Eren questioned, laughing as she instead of answering, simply lifted her arms up for him to take her.
She responds with a nod, her hair falling over her face as she was lifted onto his lap. As soon as she was situated, she wasted no time in making herself comfortable, wiggling out of her dad’s grasp and laying her stomach down on his, her head right above where his heart was.
“Nevermind.” he sighs, making the whole room burst out into laughter. This only made Myra whine, the loudness distrupting her attempt at sleeping. “Sorry Myra!” Sasha whispered, finally giving a fry to Jean afterwards.
“I wonder what got her so tired.” Annie questions, making Jean sink into the couch out of guilt as Eren sends him an irritated glance.
“Jean went and gave her a sugar rush before we got here. It was absolute hell.” Eren’s eyes furrow in frustration as he remembers earlier today and how hard it was for him to catch a nap without his energetic 2 year old jumping all over him. All while Jean was happily eating lunch with his wife.
“Okay, but I didn’t know she wasn’t supposed to have that much candy! Kids eat candy like crazy, right?” He attempts to defend himself, looking around the room for support, only to be met with silence.
“Yeah, thing is she’s not a kid! She’s a toddler! Dumbass.” he mumbles the last part, hoping that Y/N somehow wouldn’t hear. But she always found a way how.
“Can someone please slap Eren for me?” She yells from the kitchen. “Stop cursing in front of Myra!”
Eren has no time to defend himself as volunteers step up to do what their friend asked, but Mikasa was the quickest, and Eren was even quicker. He swiftly grabs Myra’s frog blanket from the bag sat beside him and hids his face in it, saving it from the harsh blow of Mikasa’s hand.
“You’re lucky I didn’t miss completely, I just don’t wanna wake Myra.” she confesses, walking back to her seat.
“God, I cant believe we almost named her after you.” Eren groaned, blanket still clutched in hand.
“Mimi’s close enough for me.” She smiles, noticing the way Myra starts to squirm a bit. “Throw the blanket over her, I think she’s cold.” She suggests, bringing Eren’s attention back to the little girl on his chest.
Eren is quick to unravel the rather big blanket from his grasp and take it in both hands to bring it in the air, watching it fall perfectly onto her small figure. The blanket basically covered his whole torso, the end tickling his neck a bit.
“Thanks again for the blanket, Historia. She loves it so much, a little too much.” he says, feeling his daughter move under the blanket so that her little arms were wrapped around his torso as far as she could go. “She won’t use the one I got her anymore.” he says with a slight frown.
The group laughs again, but quietly this time, not wanting the little girl to possibly wake up in a fit.
“I wouldn’t blame her, to be honest.” Jean shrugs, giving Eren a knowing glance, as well as a sly smirk. He knows how mad Y/N would get if he were to disobey her, especially a few minutes after she scolded him. Since Y/N was only a few feet away, Eren aggresively sticks his middle finger up to the man. It’s not like Myra could see through the blanket anyway.
“Are you gonna finish your ghost story, Jean?” Annie asked, although she didn’t believe a word. She just wants to see him make a fool out of himself.
Jeans eyes light up, snapping his fingers together as he sits upstraight again, ready to go into full detail once again. “Right! Okay, okay, so right when I went to shave my beard...”
Eren let’s Jean’s apparent ghost encounter story fade in the background, focusing on the shallow breaths coming from his daughter. He felt himself getting a little drowsy himself, as if her sleepiness was seeping into him.
He doesn’t waste time lifting the blanket a bit to wrap a protective arm around her small figure under it, adjusting his posture on the sofa and crossing his ankles over one another. His let his neck sink into the back of the couch, letting his head go as well so he facing the ceiling. With the warmth of the blanket and the little girl under it, he couldn’t help but close his drowsy eyes as well, finally giving in.
A few minutes pass and Jean is done telling his story, but of course, no one believes him. All except Historia. “Thank you, Historia! See I’m telling the truth. Morons.” Jean rolls his eyes at the way Armin and Sasha curl up as they laughed, Mikasa and Annie trying their best to hold in theirs.
Jean soon notices the person who would’ve regurlarly had the most to say was being awfully quiet. Getting ready to scold him for not listening, Jean is met with a site he has to admit, is the cutest thing he’s seen all year.
Eren was deep in slumber, soft snores coming from him and the little girl that rested as peacefully as he did on top of him. The print of his arm around her could be seen through the green blanket, as well as both of their steady breaths. They looked so comfortable, it would be a pain for them to get up soon, which they would have to eventually.
“Awww, they’re adorable!!” Historia exclaims from the other side of the room, which seemed to catch Y/N’s attention all the way from the kitchen.
“What’s happening? Is something cute happening? Someone take pictures!” She exclaimed, wanting to abandon the plates and take them herself, but thinks that would be rather rude to leave poor connie alone.
“On it!” Sasha and Jean say in unison. Both are quick to pull out their phones, Jean getting the more unappealing angles, while Sasha actually put some effort into it and snapped a few photos.
These were being sent to every single person on her contact list.

Oh man, so blame @sam-giddings completely for this, but ever since last night all I’ve been able to think of is my least favourite part whenever I play Until Dawn: that bit in chapter 9 when you’re playing as Ashley and your walking underneath the lodge.
That entire bit makes no sense character wise to me and I hate it. If you play it and you choose to leave Chris behind and walk on without him, then I get it. It’s a choice you made as Ashley, so that’s what she does in that instance. Whatever. It’s the bit right after when you decide that ‘hell no, I ain’t letting none of you out of my sight are you kidding me????’ that makes me so angry. You know, the one where Ashley stays behind to close the manhole in case a wendigo tries to follow them. And then Chris just leaves her behind too.
LIke are you kidding me? You expect me to believe that shit???? You expect me to believe that Chris, who up until that point has made it very clear that there’s no way he’s gonna be able to choose Ash in the gun choice or that he can’t stand the thought that he went and left Josh behind in the shed to die, is just gonna go on without her? Especially after she just told him that they’re not leaving anyone behind and that they’re all sticking together? You expect me to believe that Chris just up and leaves her behind after all that? Oh hell fucking no. No matter what your feelings on Ashley are, Chris deciding to go on without her isn’t even in-character for him at that point. It makes absolutely no sense and I hate it.
And I know I’ve mentioned once or twice that I find it real rude that Chris doesn’t even try to give her his sweater after the whole shed incident (it’s not even romantic at that point, she’s covered in blood and likely freezing!) but I can excuse it because of the extra amount of work that would have went into character models to make it a reality. But the bit under the lodge isn’t even that, that was so Ash can hear Jessica’s voice and investigate the trap door and lazily writing Chris out so she can do it alone. And you know what? Fuck that, I’m fixing it and it’s super easy too. You don’t even have to change a whole lot.
Chris waits for her to close the manhole and then the two of them try to catch up to Sam (and Emily). They hear Jess’s voice as they get closer to the fork in the tunnel and you get the same choice of investigating or not. If you don’t investigate then you meet up with the others and there’s no change. But if you do, then Chris tries to maybe talk Ash out of it but she’s already moving ahead so he follows her because he’s not leaving her behind. You go on, pick up the totem, and then the two of them come to the trap door. Maybe you walk past it and catch it, or maybe you open it. If Ash opens the trap door, then Hanndigo comes out same as always.
Now this is where it can get fun. I think it would be fun to give Ashley a choice here: you can either RUN or DISTRACT.
RUN is exactly what it says on the tin. Ashley grabs Chris and tries to run but they both get caught and die for very obvious reasons, plus the fact that Chris is having problems even staying upright right now, much less walking or running. Plus it continues with the opening of the trap door being an absolutely stupid move where you deserve your death.
DISTRACT though? We know that Ashley has some roots in self-preservation, it’s shown when she doesn’t let Chris back in after he tries to shoot her and when she tries to force Emily out the safe room after finding the bite. Or when she’s screaming at Chris to save her when in the shed. She doesn’t want to die, and who can blame her? Not me that’s for sure. So in order to try and distract Hanndigo and try to get away Ashley inadvertently (or on purpose if that’s how you want to see it) pushes Chris towards her. Chris is dead no matter what here really, he has a bum leg and can’t run after all. And since he can die here anyways nothing changes either.
And then while Hanndigo is busy decapitating Chris as is her modus operandi, Ashley tries to make a break for it and hide. This gives the player a chance for a DON’T MOVE segment as well (and now that I think of it, I don’t think she gets one anyway? I think she and the nigh unplayable Washington sibs are the only one who don’t get one so this even fixes that lol!). If you fail, then Ash dies obviously. You opened the trap door like a moron so you can deal with the consequences of your actions. But if you pass, then Ash lives to see another day (well, an hour if you don’t mess up in the lodge with Sam lol) and she rejoins the group filled with the lovely knowledge and horrible guilt that she killed Chris. And while people can continue to cry that Ashley is even more horrible for killing Chris knowingly here, guess what bucko? YOU made the choice to distract after opening the trap door and sealing at least one of their fates. It was obvious that there was gonna be no way out of this one, but you decided to see if you could maybe survive it anyways.
(The rest of the game goes as normal, except with a maybe even more inconsolable Ashley in the ranger’s station then if Chris died outside. The same scene would easily work though.)
And THAT’S how supermassive should have played the tunnel bit in my opinion.
#until dawn#ashley brown#you can not change my mind at this time#no matter what your thoughts on ashley are that tunnel bit was bullshit and you know it#also if ashley does have a don't move bit then i just forgot#its been a little over a year since i last played it#so running on memories here for the most part lol

Don't Jump To Conclusions
TS g/t one-shots
I'm in a Sanders Sides g/t server, and sometimes we take scenarios and write on them. I've written a fair amount of stuff on there, myself, and I decided to collect my stuff, and clean it up. This was partially written by @borrowedblue and @andtheyreonfire
Happy birthday, Vel!

Warnings: Spiders! Spider, anyway. Sentient beings sold as pets, attempting restriction of said beings, mentions of bites, implied past abuse/bad treatment.
-----
Virgil was out shopping. Not for groceries or clothing; he was at a pet store, shopping for supplies for his, let's say, pets. Okay, technically they weren't pets. They were research at the lab he worked at, but he still liked them, even when they did try to bite and attack and hiss at him. His descriptions of such had led people to believe that he worked with cats, but he didn't.
He worked with spiders.
Well, a lot of bugs, but he liked the spiders the best. His lab observed their behaviors both individually and in groups to catalog a variety of information. As part of their observations, they needed to keep the spiders in their ideal environment, which included as close to the exact blend of earth as they could get. Unfortunately, they'd run out of their supply today. Fortunately, that sort of stuff was widely available. Unfortunately, they used a very specific brand. Fortunately, they found some in a pet store pretty locally. Unfortunately, Virgil was the one who lived nearest to it, so he was stuck going in and getting it on his way home. What a drag, he had to actually interact with people.
When he got there, he could see why this was the store that had it. It was certainly… well-stocked. Which, really, was just another way to say "huge." It was like the Home Depot of pet stores; no employees in sight, and aisles in need of some serious maps. But whatever. He at least knew which sections to go past. When he finally got to the specialty mix of dirt, near the back of the store, he grabbed it with an 'Ah-hah!' Then, after his elation had faded, he took in his surroundings a bit more. He looked to his left, and noticed the rescue.
It wasn't odd for a pet store to have a rescue in it. And despite his surly exterior, well, Virgil wasn't immune to cute fluffy animals. Maybe he just so happened to need to walk back to the registers while passing it by. And maybe while he was walking that way, he'd take a little look. You know. While he was there.
So, path decided, nodding to himself, he strolled over, bag of soil in hand, and prepared to look at the puppies and kittens. Then he stopped and blinked. There were certainly puppies and kittens, and even a bird there, but there were also some different manner of pets.
He saw fairies, tiny mers, and all manner of little magical creatures. He walked through the display of cages and terrariums, when one in particular caught his eye. He stared at the sign plastered on the seemingly empty glass case.
CAUTION: I BITE!
"What the-" he squinted, leaning closer to see if there was anything actually in there. He thought he saw something moving underneath the front of the fake log, and then all of a sudden-
-there it was right in front of him.
He flinched and took a half step back on instinct, despite the fact that it's in a freaking terrarium, genius, and he took in the creature. It was partly human, but had multiple eyes, and its back half was an abdomen, black with dark blue bands, and had multiple legs.
A drider.
It was reared up on its back legs, and it was bearing its (he squinted closer to be certain, and sure enough its human half had freaking fangs), and was generally acting very aggressive.
He thought it- they were trying to puff themself up, emphasizing their eight (eight!!!) limbs, six on the bottom, plus their arms. Their multiple eyes were narrowed, directly at him. They were snarling.
And Virgil couldn't possibly help but to walk towards the terrarium, warning sign be damned. He sees the spider-person pause, some of the aggression draining out, before they rear back again, seemingly trying to be more intimidating than before. Virgil smirked, fascinated, and sank down into a crouch. He really took in the shape and look of their eyes, and his own eyes widened in response.
Jumping spider, he realizes, and then, Well, duh, they jumped at you, moron, of course they're a jumpy. He tilted his head a few times, trying to really see the details of the drider, while he had the chance.
"Woah," Virgil whispered. "You're so cool looking." He watched as they frowned and clicked their mouthparts (didn't look completely like typical chelicara) idly, running their pedipalps over them. They seemed to hesitate, lowering down, and stared at him in a more placated manner.
Honestly, they were pretty cute. "How far can you jump?" Virgil asked, taking in the size of the enclosure. The creature was watching his gaze like, well, someone who had plenty of eyes, then finally, they spoke up.
"Far beneath my limit in this facsimile of a proper environment," they crossed a pair of human arms and one set of spider legs. They seemed distrustful, gaze still not fully on him. As though they were apprehensive about his reaction, like it was going to be negative?
"I'll bet," Virgil responded instead, and he nodded a little as his smile fell into a grimace. "This thing has gotta really suck, huh?" He rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, eyes still flitting over the spider creature's form every so often. They raised an eyebrow.
"Indeed." Yeah, there was no way they were used to having a normal conversation. They seemed less wary now, but they didn't seem to be holding back their speech at all. Virgil really admired that. He liked that attitude, and that he was the one getting it out of them, and, well, he liked a lot about them. He had...a dangerous thought.
"What if," Virgil bit his lip, "what if you got out?" The spider huffed, rolling their (well, some of their) eyes.
"Then I would be able to jump further," they replied, voice clearly dry despite their size difference.
"No, no," his smile pulled at the corner of his mouth. "I mean. What if you," Virgil hesitated meaningfully, being sure to emphasize the words. "Got, out." The creature's limbs uncrossed. Virgil saw as comprehension dawned.
"I am," their words were chosen carefully, he noticed. They had been throughout this entire interaction. "Not allowed to leave my enclosure." Their eyes raked over the human's form.
"What if I got you out?" The spider person chittered, nervousness written on their face.
"Theft is not an encouraged activity," they eventually settled on. Virgil snorted and muttered 'be gay, do crime' under his breath. "No, I meant like. Maybe, I could, sort of." He paused, breathed in, breathed out, and tried to look as serious as possible. "Take you home? With an adoption fee and everything?"
"I," the drider swallowed visibly, and of course they didn't trust him, they just met him and he doesn't even know their name, or anything, and he didn't introduce himself- "I am unable to survive in the wild on my own," they finished succinctly.
Virgil hadn't meant that. They might be a drider, but they were clearly still human, especially after the conversation they'd been having, so, was it wrong that he wanted to take them home? He knew that everyone here was raised to live in a home, with a human taking care of them, just like the pets they adopted out beside them. So, maybe they wouldn't mind if he took them home? But, he guessed that their non-answer gave him his answer, then. That kinda sucked.
"My name's Virgil," he blurted out before he forgot again. "He/him." They stared at each other for a moment. "Uh, what's your name?" He saw them startle, "I mean, y'know, only if you don't mind."
"My name is Logan." They said, voice even, still, but maybe a little less cautious, he thinks? "I… am also male?" And Virgil couldn't help but smirk again at his confused tone. It was sort of adorably endearing. His eyes drifted towards the sign again.
"So," he smirked a little more. "You actually ever bite anyone before?" Logan rolled (all of) his eyes.
"Of course," he pointed to the sign. "Otherwise, it would not be stated on my tank." He sounded almost a little proud. He went on, clarifying despite not being asked to. Virgil was not complaining. "Two separate humans, not to mention the time a child opened my tank after wandering away from his parents." His pedipalps whisked over his face, "I jumped just under my potential that day, unfortunately." He didn't sound sorry at all. Virgil's mouth twitched dangerously. "I landed right on his head."
Virgil burst out laughing. Several people in the store turned around to see what the commotion was about. A volunteer in particular hesitated, before starting to come over to the pair. Logan looked smug, Virgil wiped a tear from his eye.
"Hello, sir, may I help you with anything?" The voice came suddenly from over his shoulder. He just barely suppressed a flinch.
"Ah!" Couldn't suppress the scream, though.
"You two seem to be getting along!" The volunteer said. "Do you have any questions about him?" The tone of the question was clearly an underlying 'Would you please take him?'
Virgil gave a look towards Logan's direction. He looked back at Virgil. Maybe, Virgil thought, not as hesitant as before.
"Well," Virgil pulled his gaze away, "maybe just a few."
~~~~~
Logan watched the human- Virgil- as the volunteer led him away, and he found himself repressing a pout. He'd been… nice. Pleasant. Tolerable.
Okay, so Logan had enjoyed his company, and his conversation. It had been quite some time since that had happened with a human. In fact, it had been quite some time since any conversation at all had happened with a human. They never spoke to him directly. Every human he'd ever known had spoken over him, both literally and figuratively. Especially here, where they spoke instead to the volunteers and his general caretakers.
He exhaled. Perhaps his standards for 'good conversation' had just slipped considerably. As well as his standards for 'acceptable human.' After all, there he was, discussing taking Logan into his home, with someone all-too-anxious to never see him again. Nice or not, he had to be cautious. He seemed like he cared about his opinion, but that was the thing about humans; they were good at seeming.
He gave up on trying to listen into their conversation. They were far away, and it only seemed to pertain to what supplies he would need if he took him. At the very least, the volunteer was doing their job of explaining his needs. He skittered into the fake log that was in his environment as he considered his future.
This was not the first time he'd met someone excited to see him, eager to adopt him. It had happened, once before. He'd been much younger then, much more innocent, much happier, much more eager to go into a home with a human family.
That eagerness and happiness had lasted about a week.
And, well, that's why he was with a rescue now.
He considered Virgil. He spoke to him, yes, was interested, but he was still larger; Logan surmised he could easily fit in his hands, probably even only one. He had more legs, and more eyes, and could jump, and had venomous fangs (barely, to a human), but he was still the one with the disadvantage. A severe one. He shuddered from memories he'd considered long in the past. Apparently, they were still with him in the present.
Likely, he would not get an opinion on who he went home with, anyway. It was why he made it a point to be so aggressive with everyone who came over to him. But Virgil… Well, he supposed he would see, and soon. The two humans were walking towards his enclosure again, this time Virgil had a large bag of items relevant to Logan’s care.
He poked his head back out, eyes roving over his figure. Virgil smiled at him, one corner of his mouth tugged further up than the other. He turned to the volunteer.
"Could you, I mean, if there's maybe…" he made a gesture with his empty hand, seemingly unable to finish his thought. "I kinda wanna," he lost his momentum again. He inhaled and exhaled a few times. "Could I just have a minute with him," he rushed out. The volunteer made some sort of face, but nodded, and left. Virgil took a step forward, and Logan met him (as much as he could from within his glass case) halfway, stepping out from his log. He was certainly more willing to be out in the open with only Virgil there. He returned a tiny, if uneasy smile of his own.
Virgil crouched down again. "Have you really been here for most of your life? Around humans?" Logan blinked. That took some time.
"Yes," he admitted. "I was abducted too young to learn any survival instincts." He couldn't say why he so willingly told him his past, but Virgil wanted to know, and Logan knew what that thirst for knowledge was like. "How did you know?" He wasn't accusatory, merely curious, undoubtedly as Virgil had been.
"Volunteer told me," Virgil made a slight face, and Logan wondered what else he'd been told about his past. He was about to ask, but Virgil continued. "Said you'd been waiting here for way too long." There was a look on his face that Logan had only seen on childrens' face moments before a tantrum.
He believed that Virgil was sad, but he couldn't figure out why. "That you'd been rescued from a bad situation." Ah. "Uh, listen." Virgil brought a hand up, and Logan flinched, but it was only to awkwardly scratch at his cheek.
He looked at Logan intensely. "I know we've only known each other for a bit, and I totally understand if your answer's no, but." He looked pained. "Um." Virgil coughed into his hand, likely a gesture to fill the silence rather than a violent expulsion of the contents in his throat. "Would you? Like me? To uh? Take you home? Er- fuck." Virgil groaned, clearly frustrated by his own ineloquence. "Would you like to live with me? I could offer you a bigger space than what you've got here, take care of you- that water looks too old to be healthy- and you can decline if you want. I just- yeah," he finished, slumping over with hunched shoulders from the effort.
Logan considered it. He considered it for a while. He considered the short time that he'd spent with the human, and made his decision. At the very least, Virgil wouldn’t be that cruel compared to his...other options. Logan nodded. The smallest of smiles flitted up onto his mouth, and that was apparently what Virgil was waiting for. He offered him a 'be right back', and went to grab an employee. Logan took in his cage one last time, hope was rapidly raising in him.
Meanwhile, Virgil was paying for his purchases as well as Logan's adoption fee. When he came back, it was with the volunteer, who was carrying a smaller containment box meant for transportation, and something else in the other hand.
Logan's habitat was opened, and suddenly, the volunteer's hand plunged into his tank, startling Logan out of his thoughts and immediately put him on the opposition, fangs bared and ready. It didn't matter, though. The volunteer was wearing thick rubber gloves, preventing any form of retaliation on the part of the drider, and he was grabbed roughly around the middle. He hated being held, nobody knew how to properly hold him; he wasn't a human infant, why did they insist on holding him that way? Unable to resist, Logan squirmed in the grip of the human, receiving a light squeeze and a pained look from Virgil for his efforts.
“Now, just to get him all ready for you,” the volunteer chirped, bringing a bundle of rope into view. Logan’s eyes widened, and he started struggling anew.
As if he hadn’t moved a muscle, Logan felt his arms being pinned and bound behind his back, knotted tightly. Logan couldn't move his upper arms. The volunteer had just grabbed a few of his legs between two fingers, Logan was kicking and still trying to bite, when-
“The hell are you doing?” Virgil asked in a tone that was, quite frankly, utterly terrifying. It made Logan shudder, before almost instinctively he stopped his efforts to escape. Was this Virgil's true nature, then?
"Oh, this is just standard procedure for all dangerous creatures," the volunteer responded. And Logan's head snapped up to the two. His internal organs seemed to quiver, as much as he knew that wasn't possible. Virgil had been upset at the volunteer? "Just for everybody's safety."
"Well then," his unending glare at purely the volunteer seemed to confirm who his ire was directed at. "I guess you'll have to untie him, because I don't think he's a danger to me at all." The volunteer stared back, and understandably backed down.
"Well, you're his new owner, so!" And Logan remained untied, minus his upper arms, and placed in the transportation carrier. Virgil paid the adoption fee, and took Logan by the handle, and he felt a thrill of freedom, combined with an atypical bout of anxiety.
"Hey," Virgil started, as they were walking out of the store. "There's some more stuff on the shelves that I could get you," Virgil rolled his shoulder. "It's not, like, required equipment or anything, but some of it looked like it could be kind of cool?" Logan squinted.
"Why would cold items be preferable to own?" Virgil smirked and then bit his lip.
"No, I mean, like." He mulled it over, tilting his head. "Nea- no." He exhaled some air out his nose. "Fun? Awesome?" Ah.
"I suppose, if you wanted to look, I would not be opposed." Virgil smiled, and for the next half hour, Logan was treated to a trip around some of the aisles. Virgil held up his cage, letting him look at some of the items made for a drider's physical and mental engagement. He let Logan decide entirely what he did and did not want to buy, even though he was sure it was difficult for him to keep lifting the transport box, in addition to being a tedious way to shop. His favorites were a little him-sized version of a 'Rubick's Cube,' as well as a better version of the log cave that he'd grown accustomed to in the store.
He paid when he got up front, and they made their way to his car, placing his other purchases in the back. He put Logan on the seat next to him, 'passenger seat,' Logan vaguely recalled. He was about to buckle him in.
"Alright, sit tight," Logan was about to ask what that meant when Virgil gasped. "Holy shit, I forgot about the rope." He dropped to the ground, crouched again, and opened the top of his carrier. He carefully took his fingers and untied the ropes, immediately freeing his arms. Logan rubbed around his wrists on instinct, "I'm sorry! Does it hurt? Are you okay?" Logan looked up at Virgil's earnest, open face, full of concern for Logan, and thought of how he'd treated him this entire time, how hopeful and excited he'd been.
"Yes," Logan smiled. "I think I will be."
-----
In my mind he kinda looks like this, and check out that cool size comparison chart at the bottom!
My favorite line from the original: I guess there's like normal things there like cats and dogs and birds and like maybe magical-y things like, winged cats and winged dogs and winged birds.
//minor spoilers for marius character story chapter 2!!! and luke's chapter 2 as well oops
i was going to reblog this onto the moron post i made in the early hours of this morning but it quickly grew way beyond my original intentions, so im annexing it. i promise there's a funny conclusion just give it a little time !! why are there so many words ;-;
that post came about because i was thinking about nxx group dynamics, particularly marius (BIG SURPRISE LOL) and how from what we know of him he doesnt seem to have many close friends. if any. his schedule is incredibly packed from school, running pax, nxx investigations, and his own art, and we know he isn't getting enough sleep, (yknow what zak made a great post analyzing the boys schedules here ya go) to the point that he considers giving up art to make time for his other responsibilities. there's no way he has a social life - i'm sure he did, but it would have been the first thing to go, to make room for everything else in his life. every mention of him attending a social event, iirc, has been directly related to some kind of business venture or obligation, unless he's hanging out with mc, who seems to be the only person he's able (or willing) to make that kind of time for.
which is something he has in common with luke, it seems. lol.
IM PUTTING IN A READMORE THIS POST IS TOO DANG LONG LOL
back to marius. i need to do some more research on the timeline, but my understanding is that he was studying overseas and got called back when giann went missing, one or two years ago? to run pax. (which is the official story, more likely to me is that it was completely voluntary as he wanted to look into his brother's disappearance - was he involved with the nxx before then? had he already met artem and vyn, or no? if anyone knows the answers to these questions please please tell me). so in all likelihood he's left his entire social circle in florence, come back to hang out in an office all day, and then go sit in a meeting with vyn, his tutor, and artem, who is eight years older than him. i'm sure normally they get along just fine, but when does marius get to be a kid? when does he mess around with people his own age? he doesnt.
enter mc, who is much closer to him in age, and who he doesn't hesitate to joke around with. she must be a huge relief to him. and he met her right before being accused of murder. can he not rest??
pivot. we're talking about luke now. it goes without saying that luke is, has been, and will be going through some pretty heavy shit, and mc is simultaneously a huge reprieve from that and a bludgeon that he uses to destroy himself emotionally at every single opportunity. the whiplash is insane he's like "haha this is great i'm in love with you and you are my best friend and i am going to die forever changing the trajectory of your life, hurting you and that's unforgivable and i should stay away from you but i can't because i'm a terrible selfish person- haha what's that? no i'm fine! how are you?" i hate him.
yeah so then it's like when does luke get a break? huh? we know he has aaron, who is really good for him and helping him work through his stuff, but his stuff is irreparably tied to his complex feelings about mc and his own mortality etc, etc, and also aaron is literally his doctor. every single one of their conversations is like "luke, try harder" "no. im gonna die soon." "you will with that attitude i will FIX YOU MYSELF, STOP BEING LIKE THIS." "..... still got that expiry date tho" like even the person who is arguably the best for luke's mental state, actually understands what is going on with him and is actively trying to help him at every opportunity to the point of literally robbing him and sending him on a.. scavenger hunt.... aaron what are you doing
luke literally cannot escape his issues. marius cannot escape his work. i think they should, (after spending enough time around each other to kind of figure each other out, become immune to the other's specific brand of annoying, stop being jealous at how effortlessly close the other is to mc- look it might take a little time) be friends, and find that kind of respite in each other, where their other obligations just aren't even relevant and they can just kind of let the facade fall away and do whatever. they're closer in age and they both need more time to be young and impulsive and have other people who they can do that with.
i think they should be stupid young men who do stupid things. they roughhouse. they both like... extreme sports? i think? they drink together. marius, who knows the perfect amount of wine to drink to get just tipsy enough at a work function. luke, who knows where to buy the best, cheapest beer. swapping beverages and immediately getting piss drunk and calling mc together to tell her that shes missing out, she should have come with them, boo, and its four in the morning and she only picks up because she woke up early to add six pages to a report thats due on artems desk at seven, and she still pretends to get annoyed at them but shes really just happy to see them getting along.
vyn, luke, and marius being left alone in the nxx meeting room for some reason. by the end of it, the table is broken clean in two. luke and marius both blame vyn, who asserts that he never touched that table, but doesn't directly disagree with them and offers to buy a new one. (HE'S SO OMINOUS....)
the new table has wheels so when marius and mc get to a meeting early, he tries to lean on it while he's flirting and ends up on his ass. he sprawls out on the floor and tries to keep going as though this was totally intentional (because mc is laughing and its worth it), but of course luke walks in and he gets soooo embarrassed.
let them be morons!!!
#i'm sobbing why is this post so long why did it have to get so sad to get to the point i was trying to make..#tears of themis#marius von hagen#luke pearce#xia yan#lu jinghe#homepost#marius/luke#sure why not id be cool with that!!
A gift to my friend and one of my favorite artists, @workofann
When King Fritz failed to retrieve his people to the island after the Great Titan War, all of the Eldians became slaves to Marley.
All of the nine titans were under the Marleyan army’s control, warriors who inherited one of the seven titans would receive the Marleyan title and a red armband along with the promise of a better life for their family even after their inevitable death.
The Wilbur family kept the Warhammer Titan and the Founding Titan was being fed to an ordinary Eldian family to keep it safe. Or rather keep Eldians in place, taking their hope of freedom away.
The remaining of the seven titans were hung down on a rope around a stick to trick Eldians into having power. Marley made Eldians believe that inheriting one of these titans could bring comfort to their life.
As long as someone inherited one of the titans, their entire family would live in comfort instead of poverty.
That silly promise worked. Since the many Eldians were living in poverty, they were willing to do anything to have a better life. Even if it meant to send their kids to death.
Eldian warriors started training from the moment they hit puberty and up until the moment they became adults. Only then, they were able to inherit the titans they were attained to.
In the hopes of living a better life, you were one of the many kids who had joined the warrior training program when you were little. You grew up in the army and experienced the destructive war from an early age.
You were lucky enough to be taken to the warrior candidate program later on. Which pretty much ensured your death but the impending truth that you were going to die for this country was honoring in a way. It was the least you could do, dying in the name of Marley was something you owed to them after everything devils like you made them go through.
In the end, it was all decided from the moment you were born with an armband to your left. Like many, you were carrying the blood of the titans, the curse of Ymir. To be freed from the shackles of the ‘devil’ title, you had to prove your loyalty to Marley. Dedicate your heart to your country.
You did.
So did your comrades.
However, only six of you could inherit one of the seven titans the Marleyan army used.
~~~
“My gear is totally dead,” you sighed, standing on top of the wall surrounding the enemy’s town that your comrades had destroyed, trying to take your eyes away from the mass of bodies scattered along almost every single inch of space, “I have no gas left.”
“Rookie mistake,” Jean snickered, trying to regain some humanity he had left. “We’ll go get some for you as soon as the others are done with the serum.”
It became silent.
“Is dinner or breakfast the most important meal of a day?” Connie asked to break the uncomfortable silence between his friends.
“Both,” Sasha answered without hesitation.
“No, you should only choose one and it’s obviously breakfast, moron,” Jean sighed audibly, looking down from the wall.
The rest of the people looked tenser than ever yet you still managed to offer the trio a smile before giving your answer, “I’d say it’s dinner. It’s where you and your family or friends are home, safe and sound. Dinner is like a blessing, in my opinion, don’t you think so, Jean?”
Jean met your gaze and blushed bright red before averting his eyes to look around himself rather than the bloodbath covering them everywhere.
“He hates his mom so he wouldn’t know,” Sasha spoke without thinking.
“Sasha!” Connie warned, trying to tell the airhead girl that it was a rude thing to say.
“We all eat dinner together,” you pointed out, “Breakfast is hard to eat together when each one of us has different chores but we all eat dinner together. We are family even without blood.”
“You’re right,” Connie gasped softly. “I never thought of it that way. I mean this about eating dinner together, of course. The family part is kinda weird though, you know since some of us will die no matter what.”
A cold breeze brushed their skin. Sasha anxiously started biting the inside of her cheeks.
“That’s why I think dinner is important.” You walked over to Jean and grabbed his bicep to pull him closer to the group. “At night, when we’re in the dining room altogether, eating and enjoying a meal together means that we’ve all made it through a day. We’re safe and alive, together.”
“I get it!” Jean pulled his arm free, “All this positivity won’t get you anywhere unless you stay on the lookout. We’re in the middle of a battlefield here.”
Only then the four of you came back to your senses. Connie had remembered why he had broken the silence. It was because his legs wouldn’t stop shaking or his jaw wouldn’t stop clenching. He shivered with the thought of what was going to happen soon.
Sasha remained silent yet anyone could tell how anxious she was with a single look in her direction.
Jean acted tough. He was worried but he knew better than to show weakness. He held his composure and even looked a little intimidating.
You on the other hand didn’t know what to feel or how to act. You weren’t sure why they were so worried. Even though you all had one more year left of your training, emergencies like this happened quite often. The Colossal Titan’s holder was about to die, so, of course, the Marleyan commander would order your commander to feed him to one of the only two candidates.
It was either going to be Armin or Bertholdt. One of them was going to become the Colossal Titan and the other one was going down a rank in the military to become a special force soldier.
It was that easy.
The weaker link had to leave. It was the rule of nature.
“You guys!”
You whipped her head around to see Reiner gliding through the air with his ODM gear to reach the top of the tall wall. He landed right beside you, looking rough and sweaty.
“Armin,” he breathed, “They gave the serum to him.”
Connie, Sasha, and Jean gaped but you were inanimate.
“He’ll be the colossal titan?”
“Yes, they’re going to kill us. It’s Eren and Mikasa’s fault, we’re screwed. Commander Erwin should have given the serum to Bertholdt!” Reiner gritted his teeth in anger. “Armin won’t be able to lead us anywhere-”
“Hey!” Jean pointed a finger at Reiner, “He’s the reason why most of us are alive. It was always him who saved us with his smart planning, alright?”
You nodded along while Sasha jumped down the wall to get to the other side of the opening so she could see what was happening. Connie followed after her right away.
“Bertholdt deserves the Marleyan title more than Armin,” Reiner confronted Jean.
The two of them were the only candidates for the Armored Titan, the way they were reacting and arguing was normal. In the future, it was going to be the same for them. Only one of them could inherit the Armored Titan. This argument was nothing but a desperate attempt to prove which one of them was worthy of a titan and ignore the impending truth.
It wasn’t how strong the soldier or how smart the soldier was. Marley didn’t choose its soldiers like that. They chose those who they could brainwash easily. The army wanted desperate young adults who were ready to dedicate their lives to a country that owed nothing to them.
It was nothing but pure manipulation. Destroying the lives of hundreds if not thousands of young people, just so seven of them could inherit these titans.
As the two of them were arguing, you walked to the edge of the wall, staring at the bloodbath of your enemies and titans, that would disappear in a couple of hours.
War Chief Zeke had gone a little berserk today with his titan but it was only normal. Everything had gone according to the plan, the rain of the titans was able to destroy most of the city while the Colossal Titan broke down the outer walls. Yet, nobody could foresee the enemy having the infamous titan spears. The Colossal Titan’s holder was hit by many of them, leaving him fatally injured. It was unfortunate that the last minutes of his life was here on the battlefield but it was one of the most fortunate things for the candidates who had enough time to be able to eat him.
Who deserved to be the Colossal Titan?
In your opinion, it should have been none of them.
Armin was smart, just like Bertholdt. however, they were both weak and childish.
You could guess that Armin was chosen only because Bertholdt still had some of his humanity left in him. Everyone knew he cried himself to sleep.
If you didn’t want to murder an entire country without remorse just so you could be blessed with that red armband, then you lost your chance.
Bertholdt should have known that.
Reiner probably knew that though but refused to believe the truth that was right in front of him. He was mentally unstable, making him the perfect new Armored Titan. Easy to manipulate, dumb enough to risk his entire being for the sake of Marley.
You took a deep breath to calm your senses and to block out the angry arguing happening behind you. There was a soft rumbling sound as you breathed out. At first, you thought it was your stomach thanks to the previous conversation with your friends about food but it was something louder.
Only then you realized that it was the faint screams of your enemies you had heard today, the memories of the loud squelching noises that happened when their flesh was being eaten by titans. It was all playing over and over and over again in your head.
Holding your hands up to cover your ears, you tried to block out the noises. Praying that they would stop but you were old enough to know prayers wouldn’t solve anything.
“(name),” Jean spoke through his teeth, he was still furious at Reiner. “Come on, let’s get you a new gas tank.”
You let your hands fall to your sides and walked towards him after turning around on your heels. The two idiots were having a staredown but as soon as you walked to the other edge of the wall, Jean wrapped an arm around you and jumped down. You held onto him briefly as he aimed his grappling hook towards a building on the verge of collapsing, at that moment he said something he shouldn’t have.
“People who obsess over the Marleyan title like that won’t get anywhere in life.”
You nodded in response, the title meant so little but the power of a titan… It meant everything.
As soon as you changed your gas tanks, it was time to go.
The enemy had already surrendered and there was nothing else you could do here.
“You brats.”
Turning your head, you looked at your captain. Both you and Jean saluted Levi as he walked towards you with an angry look on his face. Here it was coming, he was going to scold you for hiding to avoid the clean-up after the battle.
“Where were you?” he demanded an answer more than he asked.
“Uhh, we were with… Sasha and Connie. We were just… um… waiting for Commander Erwin to be done with the serum and-”
“I’m not talking about that,” Levi cut off Jean’s rambling. “Where were you during the battle?”
“We fought with our assigned squad, sir. Squad Leader Hanji gave us the orders to kill enemies on top of the walls with the titan spears.” You spoke clearly, still saluting, unlike Jean.
“That glasses saved our ass again…” Levi muttered under his breath. He then told you to stand easy.
Relaxing your posture, you looked at Captain Levi in the eye. “Squad Leader Hanji said they noticed the enemy on top of the walls at the last minute. Although our response was quick, we still couldn’t make it in time to protect our precious warrior, sir. Shall we go to sleep without dinner tonight again?”
Jean’s eyes widened at your words in panic.
“No need,” Levi sighed, eyes softening at your words. Even after so many years together, you were still oddly respectful and obedient when it came to your commanders. “You brats did good, nobody from our squad died. That’s why you deserve a break.” He pulled out his pocket watch to check the time. “Tell the others in the squad to gather at the entrance. We’re going to have cars coming in to get us to the harbor.”
“What about Eren?” you asked, knowing that he was most definitely with his friend right now.
“He’s my responsibility, you two should worry about getting everyone in the cars within an hour. If we don’t leave in time, we’ll have to take that shitty train.” Levi dismissed the two of you with a wave of his hand. “See you on the ship.”
“Yessir!”
“Yeah, sir!”
As soon as your commander walked away, Jean pointed a finger at your face threateningly. “You better stop that! Playing that obedient soldier thing is soooo dumb! You were gonna make us all sleep hungry again!”
“Well, I have to show them that I respect my country and army. When you show them respect, you get extra points. They think I’m a better candidate for the titan than that guy.” You were grinning from ear to ear. “That’s how you win, Jean.”
~~~
You were able to gather everyone at the entrance within an hour. The car ride took barely an hour but felt like hours thanks to your sore body.
In front of the ship, Squad Leader and War Chief stood next to each other as they were telling you and Annie about which rooms of the ship belonged to your squads.
“Make sure to get some rest.” Zeke took out a cigarette and placed it between his lips. “It’ll be a long trip until we make it home.”
“The monkey’s right! Get extra rest and eat lots! We asked Niccolo to make some warm food so better hurry up before it gets cold!!” Hanji crossed their arms over their chest with a large smile after giving you both the information papers about the ship and the schedule. “Good job on today’s battle!”
“Don’t praise them too much,” Magath said, appearing behind you. “We almost lost the Colossal Titan today.”
“Come ooooon, Magath, cut the young adults some slack! The Colossal Titan is in the right hands now. If you’re worried about Armin not being ready for the next battle, don’t worry!!! He will go under my titan training once we get back to Marley.” Hanji walked towards the General and put a hand on his shoulder. “We’ll sort it out!”
“Don’t touch me, devil.” Magath pushed their hand away.
While the two of them were about to argue, Zeke gestured with his head for you and Annie to walk away before you got caught up in it.
“You weren’t there for the cleanup mission,” Annie noted right away. “I had to carry all the corpses because Reiner was freaking out about Bertholdt.”
“I’m sorry,” you said. “I don’t have an excuse so I promise I’ll help you next time.”
She waved her hand towards her squad. “I bet you will.”
You noticed her smiling and scoffed while you gestured your own squad to come towards you. “I keep my word.”
“Yeah, we’ll see. You better learn to keep your squad in control, your idiots are more manageable than Reiner. You’re lucky to have those candidates with you.”
“You’re right. My idiots are easier to handle but that doesn’t mean they will inherit the titans. We’re a shitshow, your idiots have the courage, mine don’t.”
“We’re right here, (name),” Connie deadpanned and walked past you towards the ship after grabbing the paper you handed out to him.
“We have to train hard if we wanna be anything like these monsters,” you yelled after him but he was shaking his head, refusing to listen.
“Monsters?” Pieck raised a brow as she took a paper from Annie. “Is that what you think of your comrades, (name)?”
“No,” you said. “We spent all those years training altogether yet nobody from my squad can be compared to any of your strength.”
Pieck nodded languidly but Porco put a hand on her shoulder to push her forward. “Keep moving, we have to get food before that pig.” He gestured towards Sasha who stood at the end of the line with a worried look on her face, waiting impatiently for her turn to get on the ship.
“I’ll keep her busy, you guys should head inside.” You were smiling at them.
Pieck chuckled before leaving. “You’re too considerate for a warrior.”
“Uhh, where’s Armin and Eren?” Jean asked while taking the paper from you. He checked the planning and the schedule briefly.
“I don’t know, Captain Levi told me he would bring them here later,” you answered.
“Keep it moving, horse face,” Ymir shoved Jean away to grab one of the papers before walking away. “Good luck with the potato girl, (name).”
You looked at Annie who was already done handing out papers and was walking inside with her squad. Reiner was walking beside her, head down and shoulders slouched. He was still upset over Bertholdt losing against Armin.
“Um… Can we go inside now?” Sasha asked after ten minutes of standing outside.
“No, we’re waiting for uhh…. Armin.”
She sighed audibly and clutched on your arm. “You were right, dinner is the most important meal of the day… I’m so hungry, (name). Let’s go eat. Armin will find his way to the ship nonetheless if we wait for him… Please…”
Okay. Perhaps you could let her go now. Others must have gotten their food and all.
“You’re right, let’s-”
Sasha left your side and ran inside the ship without letting you finish your sentence. Sometimes, you wished you could be as honest as her. Life would be so much easier.
“(name).”
You stood at attention, keeping your head up.
“Commander Erwin!”
“At ease.” He looked around before speaking. “Is everyone from your squad inside?”
“No sir. Armin isn’t here. Eren from Annie’s squad isn’t here either.”
“Hmm, Levi will be bringing them here. We’re waiting for their car to arrive with the special force soldiers.” He put a hand on your shoulder and spun you around to pat on your back, pushing you forward. “Now, go inside and get some rest.”
You didn’t need to be told twice.
When you arrived at the dining compartment, Sasha was eating next to Niccolo who was still serving food. You walked over to the duo and the chef gave you a tray of food. “Good work today.”
“Thanks,” you replied and joined the rest of your squad on a table.
“I’m telling you, when I become the Cart Titan, I will have all of the ladies coming after me!” Connie smirked, “Everyone wants to get married to a Marleyan Warrior so they can live an easy life.”
“So you accept that no woman would tolerate you unless you have a red armband?” Ymir laughed. “Oh man… you are pathetic.”
The color drained from Connie’s face and he sat in silence.
“Besides,” Ymir said as you were taking the seat next to hers, “You’ll lose the Cart Titan against Pieck. That woman is unmatchable.”
You nodded to agree.
“Hey,” Jean hissed, slamming his cutlery on the table. “We’re all candidates. There’s no way of knowing who will get chosen and who will not be-”
“We’re the Paradis Squad, Jean,” Ymir groaned. “We’re the castaways, the second options, or better yet, we’re the backup plan for the Marleyan military.”
“Keep your voice down,” you shushed her.
“What? It’s the truth and nobody will hear us with the rumbling coming from the engine of the ship. We all know Armin got chosen to inherit the titan only because Bertholdt was a crybaby.” She took a bite from her bread and chewed slowly to speak at the same time. “That’s why you have to work harder than that Monkey Squad to be able to inherit whatever titan you're a candidate for.”
She was right but you needed her to shut up. The rest of the idiots hadn’t caught up with how unfair this candidate game was. Not yet.
“So you don’t wanna inherit the Jaw Titan?” Jean asked the most stupid question he could have.
“Why would I be in the military and become a candidate if I didn’t want to inherit the Jaw Titan?” Ymir was smirking widely, taunting the guys who saw as weak.
“But you keep saying we have no chance against those elite guys,” Connie whined.
“Oh, I will inherit the Jaw Titan. That Porco guy cannot even fight properly.” She had a dangerous glint in her eye as she glowered at Porco. He was omitting to her stare whilst eating next to Pieck.
“This isn’t a fair competition,” you added, tightly gripping your fork to stop the shaking of your hands. “You have to give it your best to win or it’ll all be for nothing. You’ll end up in the special forces and remain a devil in the eyes of Marleyans forever.”
“Dontcha worry, (name),” Ymir chirped, changing her tone effectively as she put her arm over your shoulder to pull you close. “You’ll inherit your titan. You’re the only one between these idiots who deserves to be a titan warrior.”
“Are you dumb?” Connie raised a brow. “(name) will never inherit a titan as long as War Chief is the Beast Titan.”
“He doesn’t get to decide who’ll inherit the titans. It’s Magath and the other Marleyans.” Jean spoke, his voice was blank, devoid of any emotion. “I thought our commanders decided which one of us it’d be when the time came but… apparently it’s the Marleyans who choose everything regarding if we’re inhumane enough.”
“Ah.” You could see it in his face. He was putting the pieces together slowly. After almost seven years in the military, he was finally grasping the bitter reality and the harsh truth of the future. “You realized that Armin wasn’t actually chosen for his talents, huh?” There was silence before you spoke again. “If you want to inherit a titan, you need to rid yourself of your humanity.”
Jean nodded knowingly and took a sip from his water with shaky hands.
It was half an hour later when the ship finally moved forward. It could only mean one thing… They were here.
Everyone except Ymir got up from their seats in the dining compartment. Seconds later the famous trio and Bertholdt walked inside.
“Armin!” Jean walked up to his comrade and hugged him while the other squad was welcoming their friend. “You’re too lucky!”
“Yeah, man! He’s gonna be treated like a celebrity now,” Connie was smirking as everyone from your squad started crowing around the blonde.
Armin blushed faintly, “I’m still me.”
“How does it feel?” you asked, curious if his body was going through any changes.
“Um, I don’t know.”
“Hey, where’s your red armband, huh?” Connie pointed at Armin’s yellow armband.
“He’s gonna get it when we get back home,” Eren replied instead and pushed his friend forward. “Now move away, we are starving.”
“Eren,” Mikasa warned, her eyebrows furrowing. “Everyone is excited, he’s the first one between you all to inherit a titan.”
Eren ignored her and walked towards the table Niccolo was serving food with Armin.
“He’s probably jealous. He just won’t admit it,” you reassured and patted on Mikasa’s back. “We’ll handle it, don’t worry.”
She nodded slowly and met your gaze. “Thanks.” After that, she reluctantly had to leave to join the special force soldiers in their own department.
Bertholdt was here for the last time, saying goodbye to his comrades. Soon, he would join Mikasa in the special force and if you were not careful you would too.
One year. Only one year left of your seven-year candidate program. Only one year until you inherited a titan or lost everything.
Anything could happen and things could go south. Just as today or when War Chief inherited his titan a couple of years ago.
Connie put a hand on your back and led you back to the table. You sat in between Ymir and Eren. The other three guys sat on the opposite side. Sasha was still busy devouring the food her supposedly lover had made for her.
“Shouldn’t you sit with your own squad?” you said jokingly.
“It’s none of your business.” Eren started eating, ignoring Jean who started scolding him for talking rudely.
Well, you knew he was upset that Armin inherited a titan before himself. The fact that his friend was stronger than him now hurt his ego and superiority complex.
“You should at least try to get along with people,” you said softly. “After this year, we won’t be forced to hang out together anymore.”
“I am here to kill all of my enemies, not make friends.” Eren had never changed from the day he joined the candidate program. He was always hot-headed and full of an ego that couldn’t be humbled. In these seven years, he hadn’t once actually tried working together with anyone. He acted like he was better than anyone else. “It’s because of your stupid airhead that the Colossal Titan’s inheritor got injured. If only you paid more attention to the war, Armin wouldn’t have lost a year of his training.”
“Hey!” Jean raised his voice, “It was nobody's fault. Don’t go accusing people for no reason.”
His attitude was finally getting to you, making you drop your facade for the first time in years. “Actually, the Colossal’s holder got injured because of you. It was all your fault. If you hadn’t gone into a rampage like you always do, we would have noticed that the enemy had titan spears on top of their walls.”
Your comrades all stopped eating, Ymir was giving you a look for you to shut up and Connie was kicking you under the table. “You really went and said it,” Jean groaned.
Eren continued eating despite how badly his hands were trembling from anger.
“(name), let’s not start a fight,” Armin whispered but his advice went unheard.
“You know you don’t belong in the military,” Eren suddenly laughed. “Everyone thinks that you don’t belong here.”
“I don’t have anywhere to go,” you firmly answered. “This is the only place I belong.”
“You don’t belong in the military,” Eren insisted. “Don’t lie to your comrades.”
“Oh, now we’re comrades?” You glared at him and put your hand over your heart. “I pledged loyalty to serve Marley.”
“We all did.” Eren waved his hand dismissively. “There’s nothing special about you. I am here to kill all of my enemies, you’re here so you can live rich. That’s why I will inherit the Attack Titan and you won’t.”
For a single moment, your face showed pure panic at what he had just said.
“You really think that way?” Ymir forcefully scoffed, “What now? We’re all useless-?”
“You are. If you weren’t you wouldn’t be in this squad. You’re all nothing but a second choice.” Eren lifted his gaze up to Armin. “He is the smartest of them all, the Colossal Titan never needed a fighter. It needed a brain.”
Ymir’s smirk dropped and she let out a low sigh of discomfort. Jean and Connie were glowering at Eren while you were humbled by him once again.
You tend to forget how you actually were nothing. Titans needed a fighter, Marley needed a fighter. The Attack Titan needed a fighter.
You were only smart, you couldn’t fight as well as Eren and you weren’t a natural-born leader like him.
Against him, you had no chance of winning. This wasn’t about who was the smartest, the most powerful, or the most inhumane. Each titan needed something specific. The Colossal needed a brain, the Female needed strength, the Armored needed wrath, the Jaw needed speed, the Cart needed stamina and the Attack Titan needed… a leader.
Are you a leader?
“I will inherit the Attack Titan.” Your voice quivered but you stood tall and proud.
“You have no chance of winning against me.” He was confident, rightfully so.
It wasn’t fair! It wasn’t fair that you were in this situation, it wasn’t fair that Eren Yeager was going to destroy your life. It wasn’t fair that you were the one who got hurt all the time.
“You don’t belong in the military and you don’t belong here with us.” Eren put down his cutlery, nobody else dared to speak.
You were getting angrier and starting to tremble in rage. “I’m sorry but I’m not willing to run away from my responsibilities like you.” Your brows furrowed and your teeth were clenched as you practically yelled, “I will inherit the Attack Titan no matter what.”
Eren scoffed as he was looking at your eyes that were burning with rage, “Good luck, then.”
~~~
You were going to kill him.
“Don’t think much about it,” Ymir said.
“Y-yeah, he’s saying all that because he thinks he’s the strongest.” Sasha was trying her best to come up with words that would sound comforting but it was hard. She wasn’t present during your argument.
“He’s confident because his brother is the Beast Titan,” you hissed. “Zeke got lucky. If Mr. Ksaver hadn’t had a heart attack, he wouldn’t be here. If only the other candidate wasn’t away… Then he wouldn’t be the Beast Titan.”
“Hey,” Ymir warned. “Don’t say things that can get you in trouble.”
“Says the girl who bad mouths everyone.” You rolled your eyes in annoyance.
“A-anyway!” Sasha pulled the sheets over her head, “Let’s just sleep! You’ll forget about this tomorrow.”
“I agree with the piggy for once.” Ymir reached towards the candle and blew it out. “Goodnight, you two.”
“Goodnight,” Sasha murmured happily.
You were silent.
There had to be a way to get Eren out of the picture.
~~~
You couldn’t sleep, even though both Ymir and Sasha had already passed out. Today was exhausting for everyone yet every time you closed your eyes, you were seeing Eren getting the Attack Titan.
Kicking off your sheets, you jumped out of your bed to take a walk and calm yourself.
As soon as you left the room, you started wandering in the ship without a destination in mind. Without realizing it, you kept walking to the deeper, darker parts of the ship where there wasn’t a single light on. However, thanks to you being discalced, you could feel it when the floor under your feet changed height or direction. It helped you get around the tight hallways but you still had no idea of your whereabouts nonetheless.
Maybe it was a bad idea to be wandering around.
That was until you heard a sound that shook you internally. Your head whipped to the right, a large metal door was inviting you.
You could hear the familiar voices of people and hushed yelling from the other side of the door. Out of curiosity, you pressed your ear onto the door to listen.
“- stop causing trouble before they kick you out. If you don’t get the Attack Titan all of our parents’ efforts will all be for nothing.”
“You say that as if I won’t inherit the titan.”
That was… Those were the Yeager brothers.
“That girl, she’s obedient. She will get the upper hand if you don’t get your act straight, Eren.”
“It doesn’t matter if she gets the Attack Titan, you can give me your spinal fluid and I’ll eat her.”
“Eren!” A slam. You flinched, covering your mouth to keep quiet. Zeke had slammed his fist on a table or a wall. “Enough innocent Eldians died. You have to prove yourself worthy and earn the Attack Titan. Hanji and Erwin found who Marley was feeding the Founding Titan to. It’s some poor family by the outskirts of the city. We finally have all of the information we need. All you have to do is follow the plan.”
“The plan is that I inherit the Attack Titan, it doesn’t matter how I do it.”
Your heart was pounding, a cold sweat slicking your skin as you continued listening to them in terror. Did they want to betray Marley?
They were…
They were traitors.
“The plan is that you inherit the Attack Titan and become the symbol of hope for our people. If it weren’t for Levi or Mikasa, you wouldn’t be alive today. You need to prove to our people that you’re worthy of leading them to a better future. You must be convincing because nobody will riot against Marley if some bastard with anger issues eats the Founding Titan.” Zeke’s voice sounded conflicted. “Once you become the beacon of hope, you have to bring us peace. No more wars, Eren. We had enough wars.”
Eren spoke again after a long pause. “Do you think we should let them live after all they’ve done, Zeke?”
“Eren, we aren’t showing mercy to Marley. We are only ending the wars for our sake. Eldians have fought enough.”
Your eyes widened and a sickening smile spread across your face. This… This was your chance. You were going to become the Attack Titan. All you had to do was find a Marleyan, Magath… Anyone!
Taking a step back, you took a quick look around you before starting to walk further down the hall. As long as you revealed the truth about the Yeager brothers, you would inherit the Attack Titan. They were going to be banished and hopefully, executed. You were speeding down the hallway, keeping your hand on the wall to use it as a guide.
You couldn’t believe it, they were planning to betray Marley and eat the Founding Titan. Why would they even do that? You didn’t know and didn’t need to know. All you knew was that now, you were guaranteed to inherit the Attack Titan.
No matter how long you walked, you never came to the end of the hallway.
What if Commander Erwin, Captain Levi, and the Squad Leader Hanji were in it too?
What about Mikasa and Armin? Were they in this too?
If you snitched on the Yeager brothers would they kill all of your other comrades?
They wouldn't, right?
Honestly, they were all better off dead.
You walked for a few more minutes until you had worked up the nerve to make a run for it. Your palm was clammy as you kept sliding your left hand on the wall and, without looking back, you darted down the hallway praying to whoever was listening that it wasn’t a dead end and would lead you to Magath’s office.
You got lucky and came across the dining compartment. At least you were getting somewhere, you only had to keep running. For a while, you followed the wall around without stopping but when you saw a silhouette ahead of the hallway, you skidded to a stop.
In the dark, you couldn’t make out who it was but you continued walking, hoping that it was a Marleyan or anyone you could tell about the Yeager brothers and their plan of attacking Marley.
There stood a glorious Marleyan soldier, Yelena.
You were going to win.
A wild grin spread across your face and you took a step forward at the same time Yelena became aware of your presence.
“Good evening,” she said, you could hear the smile in her voice. “Mr. Yeager.”
Your own grin dropped and you felt a large hand landing on your shoulder, gripping you tightly.
“Yelena, I told you to keep on the lookout.” Zeke’s voice was calm despite being caught. “This one eavesdropped on me and my brother as it seems.”
Yelena did something you had never seen a Marleyan soldier do to an Eldian before and she saluted Zeke. “My condolences, sir. Shall I kill her?”
“What?” It was you, voice breaking and heart hammering in your ribcage. What kind of conspiracy was going on here? “Miss Yelena, we have to tell Magath about this-”
“No, it’ll bring too much attention to us. I’ll handle it,” Zeke ignored your words and replied Yelena instead.
The woman nodded and stood at ease. “Is there anything else I can do?”
“Keep an eye on the hallways. I don’t need any more of these miscalculations.” Zeke’s hand moved to the back of your neck, he grabbed you tightly and turned around to walk away with you.
Your hands went to pry his hands off of you but it was futile, despite his looks, Zeke was stronger than you. As he was forcing you to walk the way you ran from, you spoke through your teeth. “I will kill you. I’m going to scream now and everyone will know that you-”
“We’re on a ship, (name). If I transformed right now, everyone would be dead. Everyone.” He was speaking calmly again but his grip around the back of your neck tightened, making you whimper in pain. “Do you want to risk it? I don’t think you would survive. Neither would anyone else other than Armin Arlert. If he managed to turn into the Colossal Titan before the ship sinks, that is.”
“You wouldn’t dare!” you hissed, biting back a sob.
“You don’t know where you stand just like Eren,” he sighed in irritation this time.
“Why are you doing this? Why are you trying to betray Marley? Don’t you feel guilty of the things we devils have done to them?” You were spitting out your words, an animalistic snarl rose up from your stomach. “You traitors!”
“The war must end,” Zeke said. “What we’ve done to Marley in the past was unforgivable but the way we’re being used as weapons against other countries… We will always continue to repeat history if we don’t end the war. And-”
“I will inherit the Attack Titan and stop you all.” Your limbs started to shake violently, you tried twisting your body to escape his hold but it was all futile.
“Didn’t you hear my brother? I can turn him into a pure titan and feed you to him.” Zeke leaned in to whisper, his voice carried a dark promise. He was serious.
You didn’t dare to utter a single syllable more. Your bottom lip was trembling as the realization of how bad your situation actually was started to settle in.
What you had thought to be your advantage against Eren was going to get you killed. You had no idea how many people were involved in this. Yelena had saluted Zeke as if he wasn’t a devil. A Marleyan bowed down before an Eldian.
How dare she betray Marley like that? Eldians did nothing but cause wars, you were all the devils who killed. You were a curse, a waste of space and air. To earn your place in this cruel world, you had to dedicate yourself to Marley. And-
Oh, how amusing to think like a loyal dog.
A giggle escaped from your lips.
Zeke raised a brow but continued forcing you down the hallway until the two of you reached a door. He pushed the door open and shoved you inside before walking after you.
“This is your first chance to prove yourself to me,” Zeke spoke. You immediately knew he wasn’t talking to you.
Stumbling forward, you fell on the ground. You used your hands to push yourself up as the door closed, seconds later you heard it being locked.
“Devoted as usual, (name).” Eren crouched in front of you and grabbed you by your hair to pull your head back. “Do you think Marley would care if you died? I think they’d replace you with one of the many other soldiers.”
“Eren,” Zeke sighed. “Are you listening to me?”
The younger brother hummed lowly in response but proceeded to glare at the terrified expression on your face.
“She’s been brainwashed from birth by Marleyan propaganda. Every Eldian in Marley is like her. Their thoughts and motives are all the same.” Zeke took off his glasses and wiped them with a handkerchief he took out from his pocket. “I want you to teach her the truth and prove yourself to be a true leader.”
“Why should I? Is it so we can keep her alive?” Eren scoffed, lips curling up into a smile. “I wouldn’t mind killing her now, throw her off deck and tell everyone else she jumped herself-”
“Eren.” Zeke was tired, so tired of all the killings. So tired of the wars and deaths. He wanted peace. He wasn’t made for fighting, Mr. Ksaver knew that but still gave him the Beast Titan. Mr. Ksaver believed that Zeke could lead the Eldians to peace. To a life without any wars or deaths. Zeke knew he could lead his people to freedom but he couldn’t fight. He wasn’t powerful enough to eat the Founding Titan himself. That was the only reason he needed Eren for.
Why father?
Why did you fail at parenting your sons?
Grisha raised Zeke with hatred for Marley and tried embedding that fighting spirit he wanted so much into the little Zeke but failed. Immediately after his mother, Dina’s death, Grisha married another woman and had Eren. Only then Grisha came back to his senses and raised his younger son with love.
Yet, Eren turned out the exact way he desperately wished Zeke would be like when he was raising him.
Ironic if not poetic.
He sent both of his sons to the candidate program and here they were; Zeke trying his best to speak some sense into Eren while all his little brother talked about was killing everyone.
Kill. Kill. Kill.
Wasn’t he tired of it all?
He returned to the present, barely a second had passed.
“If you can’t convince one Eldian woman to join our cause then you’re not befitted to inherit the Attack Titan. I can always find another candidate who will take orders.” Zeke’s tone was colder than ice. He put his glasses back on and glowered down at his younger brother.
Eren’s sinister smile faltered and he frowned. “Why does it matter?”
“Don’t you understand?” Zeke clapped his hands together, raising his voice. “How can I give you the power to lead all of the Eldians if you can’t even lead a single brainwashed woman?”
“Fine.” Eren’s grip around your hair tightened and he slammed your face onto the ground out of a sudden.
You tried breathing but when you inhaled you only tasted blood. Your nose was bleeding furiously and the pain was unbearable. A whimper escaped your lips, his attack had been too abrupt.
“Eren!” The older brother took a step forward to stop his younger brother.
“Get out, Zeke.” Eren lifted your face up from the ground to show your blood-covered face to his brother before slamming it back down with a ferocious smile.
“Don’t hurt-”
“What? I’m not killing her, I’m knocking some sense into her,” Eren replied nonchalantly, lifting your face up once again. He grinned at you and lied to your face. “She’ll be fine, don’t worry. Just leave us alone.”
Zeke hesitated, his eyes were on you who was desperately trying to mouth something. The bottom half of your face was covered in blood and the stream of blood continued painting your neck and nightgown red.
“Don’t you trust me, big brother?” Eren knew what he was doing.
“Y-yes,” Zeke dragged a hand up his face, lifting his glasses in the process. He let his cold hand rest over his eyes and turned around on his heels. “I’ll be back in the morning, I’ll tell Yelena to guard this hallway.”
Your voice wouldn’t come out, your lips were trembling too much and the pain was overwhelming your senses.
When Zeke opened the door and closed it behind him, Eren lowered his face next to yours, “A slave to Marley, that’s what you are, (name). Loyal dogs like you disgust me. Do you bark when you’re told to? Won’t you bark for me?”
You used your entire strength into collecting all of your saliva and blood you had in your mouth on top of your tongue and spitting his face.
Your spit landed on his cheek and he looked unimpressed. He stared at you with boredom before shoving your face down onto the ground.
“I’ve always wanted to mess up your pretty face, (name).” He carded his fingers through your hair almost lovingly as you gargled in your own blood, coughing repeatedly. “Maybe if you were in the special forces, I’d have the chance-”
“You’re more pathetic than I thought,” you got over your coughing fit and spoke clearly. “Do you really believe people will betray Marley just because some egoistic guy with a superiority complex has the Founding Titan?”
Eren stopped petting your hair and flipped you over so he could watch your blood-covered face as you desperately tried to talk your way out of this. “I’m a slave to no one. I’m more of a leader than anyone alive,” he said as he glared at you.
“Yeah and for how long? Thirteen years? You’ll die when you’re thirty-three, what will be your biggest accomplishment?” you laughed at him. He was too stupid to see the bigger picture but you were going to make him see it.
“Bringing freedom to my people and-”
“What about Mikasa?” you asked, cutting his sentence short. You knew his weak point, you knew he treasured her. “Don’t you want to grow old with her?”
“Oh, her?” Eren hummed in thought. “She’s more of a loyal dog to me than anything.”
Your face contorted into something vile in disgust, the way he was dehumanizing her, your friend and comrade… It... It hurt more than it should have.
“You’re full of filth, nobody would let you lead them,” you gritted your teeth.
“You’re also full of lies. I can see right through you, we’re the same.” He grabbed your cheeks by the sides with a hand and squeezed them until your mouth opened from the force. He used his other hand to wipe your spit from his face and he spat in your mouth. “That goody-two-shoes act? You can charm everyone but me with that. I’m not stupid enough to fall for your lies.”
You gagged, wanting to spit his spit back out but he had pried your jaw open, it was impossible to get it out. You had to swallow.
Eren watched with sick amusement and you helplessly swallowed his spit.
Then, laughter filled the room.
It was you.
Raising a brow, he stared at you. Maybe, you were finally going insane.
“You can’t feel good about yourself unless you prove yourself to be the strongest, right, Eren?” You rolled over to try to get up from the ground. “It must feel good to be entrusted with leading some idiots into what you call freedom, huh? You must feel like a God!”
“Did I break you already?”
You wobbled as you got back up on your feet. The front of your nightgown was covered in blood and you could still taste your own blood, smell it too. You lifted your nightgown up to your face from the collar to wipe your nose.
“Break me? Maybe my nose but I’m smarter than you are. I can see everything clearly, I’ve been watching these people for years. I know who you are, a pitiful little kid trying to become the strongest to prove his worth. You’re never good enough, right?”
“You don’t know me, (name).” Eren was getting angry, your assumptions were upsetting him.
“I know you better than anyone else, Eren. You’re just a brat trapped in an adult’s body. You believe the answer is to kill all of your enemies and you’re worth nothing to anyone. Nobody likes you but your only two friends. One has already signed his contract to die and the other one is nothing to you, right? A pet as you said?” You were chuckling, taunting him to fight you even though you knew he was going to win. “I was at least smart enough to make them all trust me. If I become the Attack Titan, I will become a leader loved by everyone. I could carry out Zeke’s plan and follow orders better than you do. Don’t you think Zeke would love to have someone who obeys his orders to inherit the Attack Titan?”
His brows furrowed and he grumbled as he spoke. “You don’t believe our cause. Zeke won’t trust you.”
“Oh, now it’s your cause? I thought you were in it just to feel powerful! Are you just feeling threatened by me? Is it because you know I’m better than you?” you barked out a laugh, “You don’t know me at all, Eren.”
It was quiet for a long moment. He didn’t speak or move. Neither did you. Not until you decided it was time to end this.
“I’ll inherit the Attack Titan for you and carry out Zeke’s mission. You’re too much of a coward to obey simple orders because you’re way too narcissistic to listen to anyone other than yourself.” You grinned, your blood-stained teeth and lips looked eerie in the dark dim light of a candle. “I’ll lead my people to freedom.”
“You’re brainwashed. You only want to serve Marley.” He was trying to remind you of something so dumb, just an accusation without any real evidence.
“Did you believe all that because I said it?” You took a step forward, pointing a finger at him and giggling. “Do you really believe I would be a slave to some country or a person like you? I live for myself and I have the blood of the devil inside of me. I am a dog that can’t be tamed. But you, Eren Yeager, you’re nothing. Just a feral dog.”
“I’m going to kill you.” Eren took a couple of steps forward and brought his fist up in the air.
“Is that all you can do?” You started walking backward to avoid him. “Is that your solution to everything? Just kill the person who doesn’t agree with you? You’re talking about killing too much. Are you going to kill everyone but the Eldians to bring them peace? Is that your smartest plan? You’re pathetic.”
“I’m going to beat you until you can’t run your filthy mouth again.” Eren leaped forward and grabbed you by your nightgown, now, he had you in his hands. “Any last words?”
“I bet your father never told you he was proud of you. Is that why you’re obsessed with power-”
Crack.
You felt the burning pain on the side of your face that wrecked your nerves as his fist met your cheek. It completely knocked the wind out of you and you found yourself on the ground, your body bounced on the solid surface before blood splattered out from your mouth.
“Your face looks better when it’s battered up like this. Red is definitely your color, (name).” His tone was light, almost as if he was finally feeling himself. “And you said I didn’t know you!” He let out an airy chuckle.
Writhing in pain on the ground, you reminded yourself that the pain was temporary. If you let him win now, you would never be able to win against him.
“I’m not…” you groaned in pain before continuing your talk. “I’m not some special force soldier you can toy with. Those poor girls may be scared of you but I can assure you that you don’t scare me, not even one bit. You’re nothing but a man child in my eyes.” You stood back up, refusing to stay down. “You can mess with all the girls you want below your rank but the power you feel over them won’t last forever. It barely lasts two minutes, is what I’ve heard.”
Despite how much pain you were in, you smirked at him as he stood right in front of you, his height towering over yours.
“I’m going to wipe that smile off your face.” Grabbing you by the neck with one hand, he turned you around and pulled you flush against his chest. You struggled against his hold but it was useless, you were far too exhausted and the earlier fight had taken the last bit of your stamina away from you.
Eren nosed some of your hair out of the way and breathed into your neck before taking a deep inhale. The sweet scent of you and your blood filled his senses, his eyelashes fluttered with unsettling joy.
“I bet,” he whispered, lips brushing against the shell of your ear. “They won’t let you inherit the Attack Titan if you were pregnant.”
With that, he pressed himself against you and forced you to feel his growing bulge beneath his pants.
Your eyes widened and you fought back with renewed vigor, ferociously kicking and shaking your body. “I’ll kill you if you touch me, you bastard! Do you hear me? I’ll feed you to the dogs!!”
“No need for that, (name).” Eren squeezed the sides of your neck, pressing you harder against his body. “You called me a feral dog, right? I’ll fuck you like one.”
You shook your limbs trying to dig your nails into the skin of his arms to fight back but he stopped you with one single move.
Eren opened his mouth and let his teeth sink into the soft skin of your neck. A scream escaped your lips as he bit you harder until he tasted blood and wrecked all of your nerves. Your arms flailed uselessly by your sides before your entire body went limp.
His free hand moved up to knead the supple flesh of your breast as he continued biting you and rocking his hips into you.
Once he decided he couldn’t take it anymore, Eren took his hand away from your breast and hurriedly tugged down his pants. You whimpered and tried twisting your body away from him but his bite on your neck was like a predator’s, it didn’t let you move anywhere. Like a lion biting into a gazelle’s neck to keep it in place before ferociously devouring the poor animal, Eren was keeping you in place with his teeth only. He wasn’t going to stop, not until he proved his strength to you. Not until he devoured you whole.
Your plan had backfired.
He pushed you forward and both of you stumbled forward. You fell on all fours and he stayed on top of you, still biting into your neck. Growling, he hiked the thin skirt of your nightgown up using a single hand.
A pained sob left your lips. “Please, don’t.”
Eren smiled into the bite. He always knew how to get under someone’s skin, no matter how thick it was. He also knew that his threat of impregnating you was nothing but a way of humiliating you, reminding you of your place, the power he held over you, and how with a single move he could ruin your entire life.
You were the one who was nothing.
The real untamed dog was Eren. Not you.
At least, that was what he wanted to believe.
How childish.
He was nothing but a manchild.
Eren slid your underpants to the side and pulled his cock out. You sobbed as he lined himself up against your entrance.
“I will kill you. I will kill you. I will kill you-ahh-”
With a sharp thrust of his hips, he inserted the entire length of his cock inside you. He slapped his large hand on your mouth to keep you quiet but it still couldn’t stop your muffled screams echoing in the room.
He had been wanting to do this for so long. Just to shut you up and ruin you, to remind you of your place. Ahh, the power he felt right now was indescribable. It was as if he was on the tallest mountain in the world and nobody else could reach him. He was the strongest. The best. The leader. The Attack Titan’s next holder and Eldia’s new King.
In his twisted mind, he was the ruler of everything. Him having you around him like this and ravishing you only boosted his ego but the feeling of a small train of blood trickling onto his cock and down your thighs made him go berserk with a massive amount of power.
The thought of your helplessness as he took your innocence like this made him grow larger inside your cunt.
He started moving without giving you a chance to prepare yourself for his cock. Involuntarily moaning, you curled your toes and bit your lip to hold back your next moan.
Eren finally pulled his teeth away from your skin and chuckled as he tentatively pulled his hips back before abruptly slamming them forward. “I’ve always wanted to do this.”
Placing both of his hands on your hips, Eren began fucking you frantically, putting his entire weight behind each thrust and stroking every spot inside of your walls. Your virgin walls started to take the shape of his cock, making you his perfect cock sleeve.
“You’re gonna regret this, Yeager,” you hissed but it broke into a moan as he mounted you completely, his hips moving with a frenzied speed, punching the air out of your lungs.
“So far, I’m enjoying it,” he whispered into your ear, his hot breath sending a shiver down your spine and causing your teeth to chatter rapidly. It was as if you were flung into a blizzard.
Your body wasn’t doing it because it was cold in the room. No. It was then, you felt it for the first time.
Fear.
He groaned in pleasure as he continued fucking you frantically like a rabid dog in heat. His pace was ruthless, each thrust of his hips was punishing and hit deep deep deep inside of your pussy.
You could feel the very shape and girth of him, he was embedding it into your memory. With each thrust, he was making sure that you wouldn’t be able to be fucked by anyone without thinking of him. You were only going to think of the smell of his sweat, the sharpness of his teeth, the shape of his cock, and his lingering, calloused hands. Nothing else.
Eventually, his animalistic pace slackened and his hips started to move staggeringly. He desperately tried stealing a few more thrusts to indulge in your warm and slick cunt by humping you like a desperate dog but your pulsating walls caught him off guard.
As your pussy clenched around his cock, he snapped his hips forward to bury his entire length inside of you. You gasped in unwanted pleasure when the tip of his cock prodded against your cervix, ready to paint your insides white.
Eren’s cock throbbed and thick spurts of his seed flooded your womb. You let out a horrifying sound and sobbed whilst the warm feeling spread across your belly. He pulled out to watch his cum drip out of your pussy with a sinister grin on his lips at the same time you felt tears streaming down your face.
He was cruel. Always had been. However, he had finally proved who was stronger between the two of you.
It was him, he was the strongest.
You had lost against the other candidate.
The most important of them all, you had lost your pride, all of that training you had gone through in seven years felt like it was for nothing.
“I will inherit the Attack Titan,” he declared, simple and to the point.
You nodded in response, throat clenching in despair as you cried in defeat.
Violent Disposition.
...
*Idly sitting in her cell, Celeste wastes time by bouncing a bouncy ball off of the wall and trying to catch it, having a surprisingly good track record.
Where did you even get that ball?
...?
*Celeste isn’t surprised when Makoto suddenly speaks up, but catches the ball one final time and gets to her feet.
Hina gave it to me. She tends to come down here every other day to talk to me or give me new things...
*sigh* That girl truly is a moron...She fails to understand just how little I actually care.
That’s just you being ungrateful...
*Makoto clenches his fist, but holds himself back.
You seem to be having fun with it. You don’t seem like the kind of person who would lean against a wall and play with a rubber ball.
It’s not like I have much else to do. And I’m actually pretty good at it.
Or you’re just lucky.
That could be it...But speaking of luck...what kind of misfortune ended you up down here?
I’m here to deliver a message. Your days in this cell are about to come to an end...
You’ll be setting me free?
You’d like that, wouldn’t you? No, we’re transferring you to the court, and then to a high security prison. I expect, if you’re very lucky, you’ll at least get 20 years.
If not...it’s life behind bars for you.
Tch...
*Celeste gets to her feet and starts pacing her cell.
So? That’s it? I don’t buy it...
What do you mean?
You got to the point of conversation within a few sentences. You could have easily sent someone down here, a soldier, a worker, ANYONE, to come and deliver such a brief message.
And yet...you did it in person...Why is that?
Perhaps it’s because...you have more you want to say?
I want to ask...
Your reasons for helping Zetsubou...do you really think that they’re legitimate? Or do you not think they’re just using you?
I don’t care if they’re using me or not. All I care about is that they deliver on their end of the bargain.
But that’s what I’m saying. What if they don’t?
...Are you trying to plant seeds of doubt into my mind Makoto Naegi?
I’m just saying. If Zetsubou really cared about you, they haven’t made any attempt to save you yet.
Your time as a traitor and spy is over...which means you have no more use to them, surely?
...!?
How about you think on that?
And even in the case that Zetsubou are telling the truth...what then? You get your castle. You get your vampire slaves. You live out your weird twisted fantasy for the rest of your days.
What’s the point if the rest of the world outside is burning?
...
*Celeste faces the glass.
I believe, if you recall, there was a certain line I continuously repeated during our days as students at Hope’s Peak Academy.
“As long as we have everything we need inside the walls...there is no reason for us to try and leave this place.”
Yeah, you said that, but from what I remember, that was all bullshit...!
That was then. But now I mean it.
If I can get everything I want. Good food, good drink, luxury, everything in my castle? That is MY world. I have no use for anything else.
And what happens to us? Your friends who brought you back to life so we could be a group again? So we could destroy the despair that had taken you from us in the first place?
Do you honestly think that just because you revived me from the dead, that I owe you a life debt...!?
I didn’t ask you to do that. You did that of your own accord. Which was ultimately your undoing.
You seem to be a woman of simple pleasures Taeko.
That I am...But I thought that would be obvious by now.
But let’s not pretend you don’t know full well why I’m asking this...
*She draws closer to the glass.
After all...Love makes people do very stupid things, Makoto Naegi...
I miss my wife after you put her in the hospital. Is that a crime?
A crime is that you don’t go and visit her instead of coming to me...
I can’t! I’ve TRIED! The hospital’s been on lockdown and heavily guarded ever since Munakata and Byakuya attacked us there. No one’s been allowed in or out.
That sounds rather tragic...But you know, there’s something I’ve always been curious about...
And that is?
*Celeste backs away from the glass and sits down in her seat, turning it to face Makoto and the glass.
I’m wondering...how Kyoko Kirigiri...an abrasive, cold natured, serious woman, who doesn’t let people into her life without good reason...
Not only grew to trust...but fell in LOVE with someone like YOU Makoto Naegi...
Why? Are you jealous?
Jealousy is for children...But we can be whatever age to learn new things.
To be honest, it’s best to ask Kyoko that herself. But if I had to take a guess, it’s the fact that I’m honest to a fault and wear my heart on my sleeve.
It makes it easy to trust me...
...
Does it?
What do you mean?
Can I just ask, what would you do if we made a deal?
I’ll convince Organization Zetsubou to leave Kyoko out of the Survivor Killing Game and find a substitute. She’ll be safe in the outside world, even if you are trapped inside. What would you do?
I wouldn’t let you out, that’s for sure.
Hahaha! Oh no, but I LOVE this...The fate of your world is in the balance, and yet you bargain for every life other than yourself.
“Honest to a fault!” is accurate. Which makes me wonder what the world would lose if someone like you were to leave it.
...
And I also wonder...
*She gets up and starts to approach the glass once again.
What Kyoko Kirigiri would think if she were to see how you were right now. I doubt she’d love you the same way she did before.
Wh-What do you mean?
...You’ve CHANGED Makoto...Innocent...Wear your heart on your sleeve...trustworthy...None of these words are befitting of you anymore.
You became alcoholic after the Future Foundation booted you out, and you assaulted your neighbor in a drunken haze for making too much noise.
You attacked, and effectively tortured me while I was incarcerated! You beat me with a chair because I insulted your friend, and even broke one of my goddamn ribs!
What’s worse...you even had an affair with your wife while she was hospitalized!
H-How did you-!?
It doesn’t matter how I know. What matters is that you can’t justify what happened between you and Mukuro Ikusaba.
And let’s not turn a blind eye to the fact that your “friends” are starting to have doubts about you. With all of this in mind, I have to wonder...
How long is it going to take...
Before you finally snap...and take someone’s life...?
Hah!?
*Makoto staggers back.
I...
I’m not going to kill anyone! I never have, and I’m not about to!
You say that now...but your violent disposition and sadistic expression say otherwise.
HeheheHahahahahah! You’ve changed! You’re turning into a monster...!
I don’t want to hear that from YOU of all people!
Then why not come in here and shut me up yourself? You did it before? What’s stopping you from doing it now!?
...
*Makoto’s fist clenches even tighter, and the other guards in the room seem to almost ready their weapons.
You’re building an itch that’s just WAITING to be scratched...! And you need to find the right person to scratch it...!
Perhaps...for what happened in Shikoku, you’re holding out and waiting to get your hands on Yukari Koime so you can CHOKE THE LIFE OUT OF HER!
*SLAM!*
!!!??
*Celeste slams her fist on the glass and stares into Makoto’s soul with her demonic red eyes!
Because you and the Zetsubou group aren’t much different. You’re liars, and killers, and you work amongst liars and killers just like you...! And you prance around, pretending you have a solid personal code which alleviates you from the pain and guilt...
But Wrath is one of God’s Seven Deadly Sins for a reason. There isn’t a single human being who doesn't possess it, and it will Never. Go. Away.
So I won’t hurt or kill your friends...Not until I wait for them to see you for what it is you’ve become...Violent...Merciless...Malevolent...Despairing...!
And once they realize that you’re beyond hope...! When they start crying I’ll KILL THEM ALL!
!!!!!
*Makoto forces himself away from the glass. His fist is now clenched so tightly that his nails are digging into his palm and making his hand bleed.
That, Makoto Naegi, is my goal...You son of a bitch...!
...
*Makoto puts his arm over his eyes to wipe them.
You’re...you’re a demon...
Heheheheheheh! Oh no...
Give it time...and then we’ll see who’s truly the demon...!
...!
*Realizing if the conversation continues any longer, he may end up snapping, Makoto chooses then to take his leave.
Stone Skipping || CH0 ; 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴
One step forward.
clack
Then, two more.
clack, clack
From one tile to another, the teenager hopped mindlessly, not bothering to look up from their gaze on the ground. The sounds of low-heeled shoes clacking against the ground grew louder and heavier as they paid no heed to other people's strange looks. Despite all of that, they journeyed towards their destination: their school, continuing their hops of boredom without a care in the world. Underneath their breath, they hummed soft melodies, unbeknownst and unheard from those around them.
Said melodies were abruptly interrupted by joyous laughter. The voices were recognizable, and [name] didn't have to waste any effort to seamlessly remember who they belonged to. Looking ahead, they stared at Taiju and Yuzuriha, who were standing in front of the vet with their respective.. stone birds?
How strange..
With a tilt of their head, they asked,"Tai-chan, Yuzu-chan.. What are you guys doing in front of the vet? Aren't.. we all gonna be late?"
The duo's head turned towards the teen, lighting up in sync as they caught sight of their friend's figure. Taiju grinned and waved enthusiastically, shouting their name as Yuzuriha turned around in order to give them a nice, warm hug. From within the girl's arms, [eye color] eyes inspected the birds closely, intrigued. "What's this..?" Petite hands grabbed one of them carefully, lifting it up to inspect it even further.
Sheepishly, Taiju laughed and replied, "We thought that this was some kind of disease and ended up trying to go to the vet, but we only realized now that it's useless, since they're probably statues!" Yuzuriha, despite her embarrassment and flushed cheeks, nodded along beside him. "That's true for me too." A small smile appeared on the shortest teen's face, amusement radiating from them in waves. "I see.. I'm not too surprised. Yuzu-chan and Tai-chan has always been wholesome this way.." They handed the bird statue back to the male, backing away from the female's arms.
The other two laughed again as the flush in their faces worsened. "Do you want to walk with us to school today, [nickname]? Senku, Taiju and I haven't seen or hung out with you for quite a while now!" [name] nodded at this, moving to walk by Taiju, who grinned in response. "Awesome!!" He lifted his fist towards he sky, making Yuzuriha laugh, and the other teenager shake their head at his excitable nature.
The group of three walked through the school's hallways, making chatter along the way. The conversation consisted mostly of Taiju and Yuzuriha, with [name] only speaking when a topic catches their interest. Instead, while they leave the other two to their own devices, the teen stared ahead, mind drifting off to who-knows-where.
I wonder how Sen-chan is doing.. Should I visit?
They fiddled with their uniform slightly, humming as they had done earlier in their walk. For a split moment, they brought out their phone, switching it on in order to see the time. [name] nodded to themselves and then returned the object to their pockets, moving to separate from the two friends in front of them. Sen-chan should be there right now..
"—e at the camphor tree later on, Yuzuriha!"
They stopped. Tai-chan wants to meet Yuzu-chan at the camphor tree..? [eye color] eyes blinked slowly, comprehending the situation before them. Taiju's cheeks were red, but [name] doubted that it was due to embarrassment. Then, they looked to the right to where Yuzuriha is, only to find her blushing as well. Tilting their head in confusion, they wondered what was really going on between the two.
Should I ask Sen-chan?
The female nodded, laughing almost shyly. "O-Okay, Taiju. I'll pass by later on after I visit the club!" Taiju nodded back, grinning as he spoke about how he was going to visit Senku beforehand. The [hair color]-haired student perked up at this, tugging on the taller's uniform softly. "Can I come with you to visit Sen-chan, Tai-chan..?" His grin grew wider at this and he happily ruffled their hair affectionately, shouting an "Of course you can!" all the while.
From beside them, Yuzuriha stared fondly, taking note of their sibling-like tendencies. It was something they, Senku and her, had gotten used to after all those years of knowing each other. Although [name] had entered their group of friends last, they've always been close to Taiju, who most definitely saw them as their little sibling. So cute, she smiled. "Then, I'll see you guys later!" Yuzuriha waved at them happily before walking towards the opposite direction, where her clubroom was at.
This, of course, left only Taiju and [name] to walk, or in Taiju's case, to run, towards the place where Senku would most likely be at: the Science clubroom. Because of how fast Taiju runs, the shorter of the two had to put in some effort to actually catch up, which left them a tad bit breathless when they arrived at their destination.
"Listen up, Senkuu!" Taiju spoke as he pried the doors open. The loud sound of the doors hitting the walls echoed throughout the room, heavily surprising those within, but with the exception of one person alone.
[eye color] eyes lit up, and before the other members could even blink, the teenager was already at Senku's side, looking at whatever he was holding in his hand. They're fast! The members freaked out mentally, still not used to the existence and actions of the mystery that is [surname] [name]. Or, at the very least, that's what the people in the school called them, despite there not being a mystery at all.
"I've decided today's the day!!" As he shouted, beads of sweat rolled down his face. [name] glanced back before bringing out a spare handkerchief, waiting patiently for their friend and big brother figure to finish his statement.
"I'm going to tell Yuzuriha about these feelings I've had inside for the last five years!"
Oh. They blinked again, slowly comprehending as they had done prior. So that's what Tai-chan was gonna do. From beside them, Senku finally turned around to face him, faking interest. "Oh? Well, that's something I'm quite interested in, indeed." His voice was dripping with sarcasm, [name] noted, when he continued, "I'll be cheering you on so loud, my voice chords might tear, from here in the Science clubroom, that is."
Taiju, not sensing the sarcasm in his tone, cheered happily as he ran closer to his friend. "Great! Thanks a ton, Senku!!" The scientist shook his head, turning to face the [hair color]-haired teenager by his side. He gives a nod of acknowledgement, a small smile appearing on his face. [name] smiled back before sitting on a stool and bringing out their phone, leaving the other two to converse amongst themselves.
"Shut the hell up already... As if I'd give you a millimeter of cheering, you great big oaf."
"What?! Make up your mind!"
"Besides, you haven't said anything for five whole years. How stupid are you? That's completely irrational."
Looking up from their place on the table, [name] watched as Senku took a glass bottle and turned around back around. "I'll give you a method so rational and sound that'll knock you off your feet." He smirked almost menacingly, making the shortest of the trio snort under their breath. Sen-chan looks like a villain.. Then, they leaned slightly closer to his hand, managing to take a whiff of the glass bottle's contents.
Gasoline.
"By having you release pheromones, you'll drive your ability to stimulate her to the extreme. In other words, it's a kind of love drug. If you drink this, it'll be ten billion percent in the bag!" He continued, handing the glass bottle over. Taiju stared down at the object in his hands for a few moments, before moving forward and dumping the whole thing onto a sink nearby. The members of the club, all shocked at such a loss of an opportunity, stared with their jaws slacked open.
"Thank you, Senku, but I'm sorry. I don't want to depend on this kind of underhanded trick."
At this, [name] chuckled softly as Senku's smirk widened. "Suit yourself," he shrugged nonchalantly, moving back to his space beside the [hair color]-haired teen. "Tai-chan, you should get going.. I think I can see Yuzu-chan waiting there." They spoke, taking a quick glance to one of the windows in the room. "Ah, you're right!! I'll see you guys later, I have to go. [nickname], I'm expecting you to eat lunch with us later!!" Said person shook their head in amusement and mumbled, "I won't forget, Tai-chan.. Don't worry."
With the reassurance, he ran off fairly quickly, leaving a trail off dust behind him. Senku turned over to his other bestfriend, who was already smiling at him. "Yo, [nickname]. Finally decided to come visit, huh?" He pretended to be annoyed, but the image was broken by the growing grin on his face. "Took you long enough, shortie." [name] bowed their head apologetically as they put on the lab coat he handed over.
"Sorry, Sen-chan.. I didn't mean to take so long. How are you doing?"
"I'm fine. Honestly, you worry about me when you're the clumsiest one of us all. Learn to ask yourself that first."
A small pout appeared on their face at his playful jab. "You know I try my hardest not to, Sen-chan.. How mean." In response, he snickered, shaking his head at the other's antics. "Hey Senku, that love drug you were talking about... Is that real or..?" A club member asked, making the two turn their attention towards him. With a scoff, Senku replied, "As if something like that actually exists."
[name] raised their hand, mumbling, "That was just regular old gasoline.."
Senku rubbed their head aggressively. "So you did notice. Ten billion points for you, [nickname]! They're right. That was just gasoline that I refined from these plastic water bottle caps. Think about the molecular structure of polyethylene for a sec, morons. It's just hydrocarbons sliced off the gasoline. You can tell just by looking, can't you?"
They all sweat-dropped simultaneously. No.. We can't. Not in the least. We're not like you or [surname]-san.
"B-But wait a second, if Taiju had drank that, he would have died.." Another one remarked offhandedly. "Don't worry," [name] smiled at them. "There's no chance that he would have. That's just part of who Tai-chan really is as a person.."
Senku nodded along, saying, "Kukuku, it was a ten billion percent guaranteed that he wasn't going to. He is a straight-arrow, sincere idiot after all." For the third time, they once again shocked the other members of the club with just those words alone.
"A-As expected of those two.."
"Why are we still so surprised?!"
"Honestly, why aren't they dating yet?"
"Shh! They might hear, keep it down!"
"I'm sure that they know about how almost half the school ships them. There's no point in hiding."
Senku sighed. "Honestly, they just won't shut up about that huh?" Red eyes glanced to the side, where his other friend sat on a stool, dazedly inspecting the butterfly keychain on their phone. "Mhm, I guess not.." They trailed off, getting distracted by a real butterfly passing by the window.
He couldn't deny that he was curious. Not once have they ever responded like most people would, whether it be out of embarrassment, anger, annoyance, or anything else. It was always just a smile that they gave in response, and he couldn't ever tell anything from it. It was like always having someone to keep him on his toes, to challenge him and his intellect, to make him figure out the puzzle. They were someone who's known but also unknown, standing with their own rules that he has yet to discover.
It was absolutely exhilarating.
Senku stood up, cracking his fingers as he did. "I'm getting an energy drink. You coming with?" [name] nodded and pocketed their phone, getting up from their seat and following. On the way, they could see commotion building up, and they both instantly knew what they were all looking at. All it took was one shared glance.
Taiju and Yuzuriha.
"I've got a hundred yen on him getting full-on dumped."
"I've got five hundred yen on him getting dumped."
"A thousand yen for me."
"I'll put ten thousand yen on him unexpectedly not getting dumped." Senku contributed as he pressed on the energy drink's button. Raising their hand, [name] also joined in with a smile. "Ten thousand yen from me too, please.." Their jaws slacked as they shouted in unison.
"Seriously?! [surname]-san too?!"
As the taller of the two sipped on his drink, they listened to the shouts of their friend from the outside.
"—isten to me, Yuzuriha! For these past five years.. I've..!"
As if he was frozen, the shouts of Taiju cut off abruptly. Senku raised an eyebrow at the sound, wondering what he was waiting for. On the other hand, [name] tilted their head in confusion, wondering the same thing. He faced the window, the sight making his eyes widen.
"What is that light?!"
Green.
The light was green.
It was hypnotic and pretty, but.. it felt wrong.
So very wrong.
Turning back around urgently, Senku reached out to push [name] further away, his mouth opening and closing as he spoke. [name] was sure he was speaking.. but why can't they hear him?
They couldn't hear anything.
Why can't they hear anything?
All they could do was stare at Senku as it slowly but surely turned black.
It was lonely.
That's what it was like, being stuck in this darkness of theirs. Occasionally, they'd wonder, are Tai-chan, Yuzu-chan, Sen-chan okay? Is their cat okay?
They wonder why and how they're holding up in the first place.
However, they supposed.. It wasn't so bad, waiting here. They're safe, and what waits for them at the very end of the line is not something, or someone, they're opposed to.
Sen-chan.
Knowing him, Senku will not be giving up his life anytime soon. Not when he hasn't reached his goal yet.
He is ten billion percent alive, somewhere in the darkness.
If they could smile, they would. That catch phrase of his brings back a lot of memories, none of which are unwanted at all.
Tai-chan is most definitely alive too. He wasn't able to confess after all.
Yuzu-chan is a similar case. She hasn't heard him out yet, and I'm believing in her to stay there to wait for him to.
But what about me?
What's my drive?
Why am I conscious?
Is it just because I want to stay with them too?
I probably do.
There's nothing wrong with that, right?
Surely, there is no harm in wanting to stay with friends.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
How long has it been?
At this point, they didn't know. The amount of times they've almost lost consciousness was alarming, but they've struggled to hold on. [name] was trying their best.
Please. I can't let go yet.. I want to see my friends.
Let me see my friends.
I beg of you.
I want them to be by their side.
I want to see Tai-chan confess.
I want to witness Yuzu-chan's reply.
I want to help Sen-chan reach his goal.
I don't want to leave.
It's lonely here..
I don't like it..
It's cold, it's dark, it's lonely..
I can't bare it anymore.
Let me out..
Let me out!
Notes:
So.. this is kind of an AU take on my current CSI Vegas fic, trouble. You do not have to be reading that to read this though. Tis merely filth I wanted to write, from the standpoint that instead of them being thrown together and having to deal with a crazy ass ex... Sara arranges a blind date for them after they’ve met a time or two and she suspects they’re into each other. It’s kind of set around the earlier seasons too.
Ya’ll.. If anyone would rather read THIS VERSION... I’m highkey tempted to maybe write it at some point. Like... Minus all the crazy shit that’s going on in Trouble. It’d just be their run ins and stuff and then them getting together.. anyway.. I had to have this, so ya’ll must now suffer with.
Prompts:
None. Blind date / sex on a kitchen table could be considered, I suppose.
Warnings:
This content is not meant for minors. If you’re under 18+ this is not for your eyes. I warned you very clearly, right here. If you don’t like smut, you’re not going to want to keep reading.
As far as things you need to be aware of if you’re sticking around: unprotected sex ( why is it always my horny ass muses that never remember protection?) body fluids, dry humping in a movie theater...Pretty much it.
BLIND DATE.
“Okay. I’m here.” I took a deep breath, reaching for the handle on the doors that led into the movie theater. Taking a second or two to check myself over in the reflection of the glass as I continued to mutter to myself, “I’m here.. Now to see if this mystery guy shows up.”
Just as I went to step into the lobby and out of the rain, I felt a tap to my shoulder from behind. It was around this same time that my eyes locked on Greg Sanders, standing behind me. Flashing me a grin even though he looked just as nervous as I was.
I felt my cheeks start to burn under his intent gaze.
We’d only spoken a few times, mostly when I popped in to bring my sister food during her shift and on my break from dancing at the club. And those few times had been… Intense. To say the least.
There was definitely underlying tension between us. A heavy pull to him.
I’d never actually told my sister this, of course.
Which was interesting considering Sara was the one who set up this whole blind date for the night.
“Belle, hi.”
“Greg, hey.” my teeth caught on my lip and I turned to face him. He seemed to remember the single red rose in his hand and chuckling quietly, he held it out. I took it, smiling as I passed it under my nose.
He reached around me, his arm brushing right against my side as he pulled the door to the lobby open, letting me step inside. Stepping inside behind me.
,, I owe my sister for this. More importantly, how did she know? Does this mean he’s hinted about being interested in me, I wonder?” my mind was working overtime. My mouth wasn’t quite keeping up with it, because I wanted to ask just to clarify that I’d somehow managed to luck into Greg being my blind date tonight, but the words were stuck in my throat. I mean, logically it had to be him, he’d given me the deep blood red rose I held in my hand.
“So…” I finally managed a word. A weak one, but still a word. Greg chuckled. His eyes roamed over me slowly. Subtly. But not subtle enough that I didn’t know he’d just checked me out. He stepped closer as a crowd of noisy teenagers all decked out as characters from the horror movie I intended to see rushed past. His hands settled on my arms to hold me steady. I stepped closer to him. Flashed a teasing grin.
“Are you sure you’re up for this? I mean it’s a horror marathon.” I asked. Greg smirked, shrugging. The movement called attention to broad shoulders and I stared at him entirely too hard for a few seconds.
Like an absolute moron.
“ I’ll be fine. Are you sure you’re going to be okay though. Sara told me that you like horror movies in theory, not so much in reality.” Greg flashed a teasing smirk of his own. One of us stepped closer. Our bodies brushed right against each other and the end result was this electric jolt shooting through my entire body at lightning speed.
I pretended to pout. Walking my fingers up the front of his faded gray t-shirt. “I guess it’s a good thing I’m not alone tonight then, hm?” I practically purred. “For the record, I’m not that bad.” I gave a soft smirk, nodding to the line that was growing rapidly across the lobby for the movie we’d chosen as I grabbed his hand and started to make my way over to the end of the line.
I smirked a little as my eyes settled on our reflection in the plexiglass surrounding the ticket window and I could see the way he towered over me just slightly from behind. And yeah, maybe I couldn’t resist stepping back into him just a little. Enough so that our bodies kept contact. My smirk only grew as I saw him swallow hard. His hands settled on my hips.
And to anyone around us, we probably looked more like a couple out on a date than two people who barely knew each other on a blind date.
We’d gotten our tickets. Playfully arguing back and forth over the fact that I paid my own way as we drifted into the concessions area and got into line for snacks. I found myself drawn to the guy like a magnet, pressing myself back into him as we stood in line.
Snacks in hand, we started to make our way to the theater showing our movies. My hand found his, my fingers lacing through.
“I don’t really do the blind date thing often.. My sister didn’t like… guilt you into this, did she?” I had to ask just before we stepped into the room cloaked in darkness. Greg chuckled, raising a hand. Dragging it through spiky hair as he smirked down at me. “I was about to ask you if she guilted you into agreeing…”
We shared a laugh and my back hit the wall next to the door softly. Greg’s hand rested palm down against the wall, just beside my head as he gazed down at me. Intently. Like he wanted to say something, but he wasn’t sure how to go about saying it.
And then, finally… he did.
“I would’ve asked you myself, you know.” Greg chuckled quietly. This news had my mouth opening and closing as my brain tried to catch up to what he was essentially saying. I found myself pressing against him a little more. “You would, hm?” escaping my mouth as a quiet purr as he stared down at me and bit his lip, swallowing hard again and nodding.
“Mhm. I was actually going to. The next time you came into the station.”
I licked my lips, tilting my head slightly as I looked up at him. Toying with the front of his shirt as I continued to try and process what he was getting at. Stunned, because I’d never really thought that he felt the magnetism I felt. I’d actually had myself convinced that it was purely one sided. Or that he’d never actually be interested in me.
“I would have said yes.”
This time, he was pressing into me. Harder. I took a shaky breath, my eyes settling on his mouth. And then the flash of something in his eyes. The goofy smirk as his other hand squeezed my hip.
“I didn’t think you liked me.” Greg licked his lips, eyes drifting down to mine, settling on them. The end result was me, taking a few more shaky breaths.
If the lingering tension between us was thick before, it was downright smothering now.
But so was the excitement. And the sense of right. Calm. Like tonight at least, I was exactly where I needed to be.
“Honestly, same.” I answered, both of us sharing a laugh again.
My sister had managed to play both of us. The thought sank in. I made a mental note to really, really, really… Thank her for it later.
A throat clearing behind us had us laughing and disappearing into the darkened theater. We chose a seat in the back row and settled in. His arm slipped around the back of my seat and I leaned against him a little, our eyes meeting.
The theater went even darker and the opening scene of the movie began to play. Almost instantly, as the grainy black and white opening shot of Dr. Wolfenstein’s opening speech began, I dove my head down after a quiet shriek.
As quiet as one gets.
“What the fuck have I gotten myself into?” I wondered in a whisper against his neck, making him laugh. But pull away and look at me. “If you wanna leave, we can…”
“Oh no. No, I’m determined to prove my sister wrong. I can handle this.” I took a deep breath. Greg leaned in, whispering against the shell of my ear, “If it’s too scary..”
The look in his eyes as mine met them gave away clearly what he didn’t say. I nodded, filing away the suggestion. Then the body count started to rise. And what he’d told me came rushing to the front of my mind.
“Fuck fuck fuck. Fuck.”
“Hey Belle.” Greg muttered, making me look up at him. When I did, he gently gripped my jawline, guiding my mouth against his, the taste of soda and m&m’s and popcorn mingling as his tongue trailed over mine, tangling with it and taking total control of the kiss, catching me by surprise just a little bit because honestly, if I’d imagined kissing him, I was usually more of the aggressor.. I wound up turning to the side in my chair slightly, deepening the kiss. Slipping my legs into his lap as his arm settled over them.
That huge group of teenagers had pretty much abandoned ship twenty minutes in just when the movie was starting to get a little too gory because the girl dressed as Baby was full on sobbing and begging to leave.
We basically had the theater to ourselves at this point.
And that heavy tension?
Only getting hotter. Heavier with each second that passed.
It wasn’t long until my legs across his lap wasn’t easy or convenient for either of us. Greg chuckled as a particularly deep and intense kiss broke and we pulled away to breathe a little.
The movie was all but ignored by now.
Merely background noise at this point.
I spotted the weak beam of an usher’s flashlight and devolved into a fit of giggles, muttering against Greg’s neck quietly, “We’ve got an usher. Let me just face the front really quick.. They usually make a round and they’re done. Unless… you like the thrill of almost getting caught in compromising positions...” I flashed a teasing grin, a soft giggle leaving my lips as soon as I saw him turn just a shade red beneath the dim lighting.
I straightened myself in my seat and took a few long and shaky deep breaths to attempt even beginning to calm myself down.
That damage was done already. I was… beyond wet. A dripping mess at this point. Everything just felt so much more intense. Intimate. The way his hands felt all over me. The way it felt to kiss him to the point where we were both dizzy and needed to breathe but also, didn’t want the kiss to end.
“Do I want to know what that meant?” Greg chuckled. A teasing grin as we found ourselves staring at each other again. Still trying to catch our breath from the deep and heavy kiss ended abruptly just seconds before.
I raised a brow. “What? Like you never purposely chose a boring movie and the back row of the theater in high school? Half the fun is in only just barely managing not to get caught...” I trailed off and gaped at Greg in disbelief when I could tell by the look on his face that he had no idea what I was talking about.
And there I went, falling just a little more.
“I,uh.. It wasn’t ever really a big issue, no.” Greg laughed quietly, shaking his head. “ To be fair, I wasn’t ever Mr. Popular, either.”
I giggled, raising my hand to my mouth to stop the sound. “No. Noooo.” but the whole admission was so sweet the attraction I had to him before grew even more.
“You’re not serious.” I asked in a whisper as the usher finally made their way past us and out of the theater again.
He leaned down in his chair a little, leaning into me. Muttering against the shell of my ear, “I am, actually.” as he gave me almost a sheepish look.
“Jesus. Were girls at your school fucking blind or…?” I questioned, locking eyes with him all over again. The way his cheeks turned just a shade red beneath the dim overhead lighting only turned me on more than it should have. I glanced around the theater and then at the door behind us.
Spotting absolutely no one, I smirked. Greg eyed me, a brow raised as I slipped out of my chair and into his lap, facing him. Leaning down, catching hold of his jaw, tilting his face upward as I leaned mine in closer. Muttering against his mouth, “We have to change that. Like.. that’s an epic wrong that has to be righted, sir.”
Greg shifted in his seat and his legs spread slightly to give himself a little more room and to catch me if I started to slip off his lap, I guess. When he did this, I could feel him starting to strain against his jeans and I rocked myself right over it, burying my mouth in his even deeper to stop myself from moaning too loudly.
“Okay, so how does this work exactly?” he mumbled in a hushed and husky whisper against my mouth as his tongue swept past my lips, finding mine all over again. Gazing up at me. One of his hands going to my ass, squeezing. His other hand skimming up and down my side. I nearly whimpered again when he used the grip on my hip to rock me over the way he strained at his jeans harder. Pressing me down into him, sending a dull throb through my dripping sex.
My teeth latched onto his bottom lip, sucking. I rocked myself against him, baring down against his lap harder but it wasn’t enough. “It would’ve worked better if I’d worn a dress but trust me.. You know exactly what you’re doing.” I muttered as the soft smacks of our mouths meeting over and over again shattered the silence around us.
“Not really. Not when it comes to this...” he insisted. His fingers dug into my ass and his other hand tangled in my hair. He bucked himself against me when he shifted around in the seat a little. I gasped, my fingers digging into his shoulder, rocking against him just a little more. Hoping to ease the dull throb I was really starting to feel.
We pulled away to breathe again and I leaned against him, muttering against his ear, “For a guy who says he hasn’t made out in the back row of a theater before, you definitely know how to make a girl wet.” as I tried to collect myself. Tried and failed.
My words seemed to make him snap. He was shifting me around in his lap so that I pressed against the bulge strained hard against his jeans. The hand in my hair drifted down, disappearing between us. Settling flat against my throbbing cunt. Massaging clumsily because we had limited space to work with.
Our mouths met all over again with a ferocity that had me blown away. In awe. I’d always kind of considered that Greg was handsome. Quiet. Sweet.
I’d never really… Imagined he possessed the side he was showing me right now. Somehow, I got the feeling I was one of very few people -possibly the only one but i didn’t dare hope, who might have ever even seen this side of him and that thought turned me on even more.
“How wet, exactly?” Greg questioned, his gaze meeting mine. By now, any thoughts I’d previously entertained about actually watching the movies I’d paid to see was… A fleeting and distant memory.
I wanted him.
Hands and mouth all over me. Tearing my clothes off. Buried inside me.
“Fuck.” I writhed around in his lap. Desperate for more friction. Anything to ease the steady throb. The divine torment that was his hands all over my body. I reached down, grabbing hold of his hand. Guiding it back against my aching sex. He took a ragged breath when he felt the way I was just starting to soak through skin tight black jeans. Our faces bumped at one point, making us pull away to laugh. Getting lost in each other’s eyes all over again.
“Ya know, we’re not really watching this…” I mused, trailing my tongue gently over the outline of his mouth. Smirking when I felt him shiver and heard him mutter a barely audible “Fuck” under his breath as he gripped me harder and took a few shaky breaths.
“We’re not.” Greg agreed, a distracted hum as his hands roamed all over me. One disappeared beneath my shirt and I barely managed to bury my mouth against his fast enough to stifle the moan that got swallowed by the kiss when I felt his hand cup my breast, squeezing.
“We could leave.” I muttered as my lips ghosted down the side of his neck and I rocked and rubbed against the way he strained at his jeans all over again. Urgently.
The suggestion had him standing. Not bothering to untangle me from his body. My legs circled his waist, squeezing as he carried me out the door and then out a side exit of the theater since it was well past closing hours by this point.
The entire trip across the parking lot had us kissing, the kiss only breaking once we’d reached my car and I had to dig around in my pockets for my keys. Finding them in my jacket pocket, I slipped them into his hand after unlocking the car. Greg opened the passenger door, setting me down in the passenger seat. I pulled him down, his mouth meeting mine all over again. His hand settling between my thighs. Growling into the kiss as he rubbed my aching core.
“Greg, get me out of here.” I moaned against his neck as I rocked against the palm of his hand. He shivered slightly as my mouth dragged over the area, latching on lazily. Breaking the kiss to pull away and lock eyes with me.
“Your apartment or mine?”
“Honestly, whichever one is closer?” I pleaded, beyond desperate to be alone with him. He nodded, stepping away, shutting the passenger door to my car. I buckled my seatbelt, letting out a whimper to myself in the silence of my car as I watched him sprint around the front of it to get into the driver seat.
Once he was inside I was doing my best to lean across the console, our mouths meeting in another frenzied and deep kiss. My mouth strayed, roaming down the side of his neck, leaving another small mark behind. He groaned, tilting my chin. Making me look up at him. Giving me a teasing smirk as he asked in awe, “What am I gonna do with you, hm?”
“Whatever you want.” I answered, licking my lips as I held his gaze. His smirk only grew as he muttered thoughtfully, “Whatever I want is a pretty broad answer.”
“I meant it too.” I whispered softly as my mouth danced down the side of his neck all over again, making him shiver once more.
“I didn’t even know my neck was a hot spot.” he chuckled as he started to pull out of the parking lot.
By the time we were parking outside of my apartment, I couldn’t take another second. He killed the engine and I unbuckled my seatbelt, slipping over the console and into his lap. Reaching down beside the seat to let it back a little bit further.
He grabbed hold of my hips, rocking me against him as he pulled me closer. Bucking up into me from below as the tips of his fingers dug into my lower back and my ass. His mouth capturing mine in a frenzied kiss that he took complete control of, surprising me all over again. He leaned into me, putting my back right against the wheel of my car, making us both laugh when I accidentally pressed right against the horn and the noise shattered the softer sounds of our kissing and we wound up jumping apart.
Taking deep breaths. Trying to get ourselves under control even though we both knew it was a little too late for that.
His hand caressed my cheek as we leaned against each other heavily. My hand trailed over his chest, settling palm down against it. Fingers curling in the fabric of his button up. Itching to grasp and tug and send buttons scattering as I tore his clothes off.
Everything was so very intense. Vivid.
And yet, soft. Gentle. Intimate.
“Okay, if we don’t move this inside, my nosy neighbor is going to get an eye full.” I half muttered, ghosting my lips against Greg’s mouth. Making him grip me tighter. Nodding. He got out of the driver seat, sprinting around the front of the car. Throwing open the door on my side and leaning in, scooping me up as if I were light as a feather.
Oh, I had no doubt he was stronger than he made himself seem, but something about the way he did it and the little chuckle and smirk on his face as he did so had me soaked through in seconds.
My back met my front door with a soft smack and Greg was pressing into me heavily as he tried to be smooth and put the key in the lock without breaking our kissing and touching. Drawing a needy whine and a pout from me when he had to stop. Unlock the door.
He stepped inside my apartment, taking a minute to close and lock the front door behind him. Stepping over to the kitchen table, sitting me on top of it. My hands settled on his shirt and I tugged it apart, sending buttons to spray and settle on the flooring. He gripped the bottom of my shirt, pulling it up over my head, tossing it out into the room behind him.
With a quiet rip, my bra settled on the floor near my shirt and his shirt. My hand slipped down between us, fumbling with the button and then the zipper of his jeans as he started to work my jeans and panties down my legs. I let my heels settle on the floor with a quiet thud and kicked my jeans and panties free at the ankle and Greg grumbled about having to break the deepening frenzy of kisses to step away and pull off his shoes. He kicked his jeans and boxers free and stepped back into me.
My legs circled his waist, squeezing against. My arms wrapped around his neck and I gasped softly as our bodies molded together. The contrast, the way he felt pressed against me. Skin against skin. It was enough to take my breath away. His hands skimmed my sides, settling on my thighs. Squeezing as he slipped me forward on the table even more. Burying his mouth in mine all over again with a quiet growl.
Teeth scraping against my bruised and swollen lips as his tongue separated them. Sinking his cock into me carefully. Slowly. Going still to let me adjust. His mouth latching onto my neck as he left the first of quite a few sizable marks behind on my skin. His grip on my hips tightening as he pumped in and out of me, a little faster. Slowing down when he felt me starting to shake a little and melt into him.
Tilting my chin as he mumbled softly, “This is not how I saw tonight going.”
“Me either.” I gasped, gripping his jaw, pulling his mouth against mine as my legs clenched his sides and my heels dug into his ass, driving his cock into me even deeper, making him strike directly against my spot. Sending a shiver racing through me that had him smirking against my mouth. Slamming into me all over again as he questioned, “You liked that, hm?”
“Yes.” I moaned out, my head falling back as my eyes fluttered open and shut and I tried to fight off a fast approaching orgasm.
Greg slowed to a stop, his hands and mouth all over me. Touching and kissing every patch of skin he could get his hands and mouth on. Locking eyes with me as he mumbled quietly, “You’re so fucking beautiful.”
“Have you seen a mirror, sir?” I purred as my mouth crashed against his and I tried to rock my hips to meet his deep drives, eager to get off. His hands squeezed my hips, bringing my movements to a halt as the kiss broke and we pulled away to breathe. He leaned down, his forehead settling against mine as he caressed my face. “Not yet.”
I pouted, pleading. “Please?” I gasped out as he started to fuck into me all over again. Slower. More deliberately.
His grip on my body almost bruising and yet still somehow gentle. Careful.
“I’m not made of glass baby. Harder. Please?” I begged breathlessly. He slammed into me harder. Deeper. Groaning against my skin, “You feel so good. So good.”
“Greg!” my cry pierced the air as he muttered against my mouth, “Fuck… Belle. Baby, let go.” and he didn’t have to tell me a second time because as his hips snapped against me frantically and he buried even deeper inside, I went smashing over the edge, my orgasm ripping through me, making me cling to him and try to come down from the high, clenching his cock, flooding it. Which sent him straight into his own orgasm, throbbing and filling me up. Pulling away to stare at me before burying his mouth in mine until the kiss was so deep we were both dizzy.
“You don’t have to leave tonight…” I asked hopefully. He chuckled and shook his head. “No. Do you want me to stay, Belle?”
“Very much so.” I melted against him, giving a sleepy smile as I went in for another kiss....
The Things You Give Pt 12
zSteven Hyde x Reader
Thank you all for being so patient! I’m so happy you guys are enjoying the story :)
Y/N sat in her room, crying on Hyde’s shoulder.
“Hey, doll, it’s okay,” he soothed, rubbing her back and caressing her hair. “He’ll get over it and we’ll all go back to being friends.”
“That’s not the only reason,” she whined and leaned back, showing him her big, puffy eyes. “I feel like our bond is destroyed.”
“It’s not, man,” he responded and tucked some hair behind her ear, stroking her face. “Look, Eric is just pissed off right now. Give him a couple days to cool off and he’ll come around.”
“No, you don’t get it. He’s never been this mad at me before. We’ve always been okay after a few hours, but not this long. I feel like I ruined it.”
“He’s your brother,” he said. “He loves you and he can’t stay mad at you long. It’ll be okay, I promise.”
Y/N pouted and nodded, tears resurfacing. “I’m sorry.”
“For what?” he asked, chuckling.
“For getting you in this mess.”
“Hey, don’t think that,” he said sternly. “I got us in this mess as much as you. It’s not just your fault.”
She sniffed. “Why is it that our happiness only matters when everyone else approves?”
He sighed, holding her tight. “I don’t know, Doll.”
She hummed and fell silent, thinking about how she could fix this.
⧝⧝⧝
“So, how’s the baby?” Jackie asked Kelso as they all sat in the basement. This time, Eric joined them but was he was extremely and eerily quiet. Y/N sat on the floor, situated between Hyde’s legs as he sat in his usual chair. Eric sat on the opposite side of the room, not bothering to glance at the couple.
“She’s doing good,” Kelso beamed. “She’s so cute like me, but also beautiful like Brooke.”
“Oh, that is so cute!” Y/N gushed. “When can we meet her?”
“Probably not for another month or so,” Kelso pouted. “Brooke doesn’t want her near other people right now because of cold and flu season. I even offered to give her some orange juice because my mom always gives me it when I’m sick and she got mad at me!”
“Kelso, you can’t give a baby orange juice,” Donna said casually.
“Yeah, huh,” he replied, sucking on a popsicle. “If she can handle milk, she should be able to handle orange juice.”
“Yes, it’s probably best to have Brooke make all the parenting decisions,” Fez said.
“But, I’m her daddy,” he said sadly. “I just want her to know that I’m smart and love her too.”
“Awe, Kelso,” Y/N cooed. “Of course, she’s going to know that. She’s going to look up to you and when she’s older, she’s going to think you’re her hero. I know I do with my dad.”
“Don’t lie to the guy,” Hyde said without looking away from the tv. “She’s going to be doing dumb stuff with him too. Probably be the brains behind it all and watch him get hurt.”
For a minute Kelso looked offended but then smiled and laughed. “Yeah, that’s probably true.”
“You’re going to be great. Don’t worry,” Y/N said.
“Don’t flatter him,” Hyde said, but with a smirk.
“Why?” Eric piped up. “You afraid that she’ll date him too?”
“Really?” Y/N asked, annoyed. “You’re going to do this now?”
“I just don’t understand how anyone of you can sit here and think this is okay. Or normal,” Eric replied without looking up.
“Forman, man, will you shut up?” Hyde said. “It’s been two days.”
“I know you’re still mad at us, but your snide remarks aren’t welcome,” Y/N quipped.
“I’m not welcome?” Eric asked, angrily.
“No, dumbass that’s not what I’m—”
“No, I know what you’re saying,” he said darkly. “You know what? You’re not welcome.”
Y/N rolled her eyes at him; completely done with his dramatics. “Don’t be stupid, Eric.”
“No, you and him aren’t welcome.”
“I live here too, you moron,” Hyde said. “Where do you expect us to go?”
“Anywhere but here,” Eric replied, staring daggers at the couple. “I don’t care as long as I don’t have to see you.”
“Yeah? And what’re you going to do? Force us out?” Hyde pushed. “A spaghetti noodle is stronger than you!”
“If I tell Red you will,” Eric said, setting his jaw. “I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I’m okay with this.”
“Eric, shut up,” Donna said. “You’re being an ass.”
“You’re blackmailing us?” Y/N asked, making a face.
“Damn right. Either you leave or Dad finds out.”
“You tell Dad and I’ll tell him about your trip to the jail cell!”
“But this is an abomination!” Eric squeaked. “Sinful, disgusting, horrible!”
“You done?” Hyde asked, annoyed.
“I’m not doing this in front of everyone,” Y/N said. “I just want to hang out with our friends without arguing.”
“No, I want you guys out of here,” he said. “Out of this group. You don’t get to be a part of it if you’re going to split it up.”
“How are we splitting it up?!” Y/N shouted, getting angry. “This isn’t West Side Story.”
“Stop, Eric!” Donna said, standing up. “Just because you don’t want them here doesn’t mean we don’t.”
“Thank you, Donna,” Y/N said.
“What the hell? You’re on their side?” Eric asked, raising his voice.
“Yes, I am!” she shouted back. “Why shouldn’t I be? They’re our friends and if you’d open your eyes, you’d see that they’re really happy.”
“I don’t care if they’re happy!” he shouted.
“How can you say that?” Fez asked. “You selfish son of a bitch.”
“How am I supposed to be happy when I had to hear you describe how my sister is in bed?!”
“I don’t care what you say. It was hilarious,” Hyde said.
“See? How can I care when you two obviously do not?” Eric shouted.
“At least you heard about it,” Donna argued. “I saw it.”
“Ew!” Eric shouted, covering his ears.
“Alright!” Kelso shouted happily. “How were Y/N’s boobs?”
“Shut up, Kelso!” Eric, Y/N, Hyde, and Donna said un unison.
“I can’t and I won’t ever accept it,” Eric spat.
“Well, it’s a good thing we’re not dating to impress you,” Hyde snorted.
A sudden weight had dropped itself on Y/N’s chest. Her heart felt like it was barley holding up it’s own weight. “So, what are you saying? You want us to break up?”
Eric didn’t respond, but stare at the ground harshly. He knew if he said it, he would be labeled the king of jackasses of all eternity.
“You really are a selfish son of a bitch,” Y/N said and stomped out of the basement.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Hyde asked him. “Why do you have to be such a dillhole?”
“I’m the dillhole?!” Eric asked, surprised. “How am I the dillhole when you’re the one who lied to me while screwing my sister?!” He gagged at the thought and thickly swallowed. “Unpleasant.”
“Well, you know what, Forman? Get the hell over it. You always say that she deserves someone who is good for her. And you know what? That’s what I am.”
“No, you’re not!” Eric shouted, silencing the whole room, including Hyde himself. The look on Hyde’s face made Eric break his gaze and turn around, rubbing his neck.
Hyde stood there in complete shock as pain flooded through his chest. But it was quickly replaced with anger. Donna looked at her boyfriend with absolute disgust. Everyone else looked at each other with wide eyes and jaws dropped.
Hyde didn’t know what to say, except for a harsh, “What?”
“I didn’t stutter, did I?”
Hyde’s breathing became labored and all he could do was stay frozen in place.
“You’re not good enough for her,” Eric continued calmly and darkly. “She is going places. The only place you’re going to is prison.”
“Eric!” Donna shouted. “That’s enough!”
“So, that’s what you really think of me,” Hyde stated as fact instead of a question. “This whole time you’re supposed to be my friend, all you’ve thought about me is not doing anything with my life.”
“Look at how your life has turned out so far!” Eric continued. “You’ve already been to jail multiple times, all you do is smoke, and not once have I heard what you plan on doing with your life besides staying a burnout. That’s no life for my sister.” He daringly stepped closer to Hyde and pointed a finger at him. “And don’t you dare tell me how to be a friend. Friends don’t do this.”
All Hyde could do was glare at the guy in front of him with clenched fists. He wanted to punch him so bad, but he knew it would only make the situation worse.
“Eric, please tell me,” Donna piped up after a minute of silence. “What makes this any different than what Kelso was doing to Laurie?”
“That’s different!” he answered. “Laurie is just a whore who ended up cheating on him anyway. Y/N…Y/N’s different. She actually feels and cares about the people in her life. And I’m not going to standby and watch you hurt her!”
“And what makes you think Hyde is going to hurt her?” Donna pressed.
“Because he’s done it to other girls! Including Jackie!”
“Hey, don’t bring my name into this,” Jackie responded sassily. “And for the record, I broke up with him. No one dumps Jackie Burkhart.”
“I don’t care how happy she makes you,” Eric continued, ignoring her. “Because sooner or later, you’re going to get bored of her and leave her hanging. Just like the other girls.”
Hyde clenched his jaw, keeping his burning stare on Eric. “Go to hell, Forman!” he shouted. “You don’t know jack. At least I’m not the one who bailed after I asked her to marry me.”
“Don’t you dare bring that up!” Eric yelled at Hyde, his voice deepening. “This isn’t about me!”
“Now I’m making it about you!” Hyde yelled back. “You’re sitting here lecturing me about bailing and hurting Y/N when you couldn’t even do the same for Donna!” As he was shouting at Eric, spit had flown out of his mouth. “So, shut the hell up before I shut it up for you!”
“I’m not the one dating my best friend’s sister!”
“You’re still not better than me!” Hyde shouted back. “I would never do that to Y/N! I’ve never felt this way about anybody before and I refuse to let you stand in the way of that!”
“No!” Eric was huffing and puffing at this point. “I’ve stood by long enough letting you guys do whatever the hell you wanted! You’ve burned me, both physically and verbally, melted my freaking G.I Joes, gotten me in trouble with Red more times than I can count, and even let me sit in a freaking jail cell with no pants because everyone let me take the fall. This is where I cross the damn line.”
“First of all, I ended up in that same jail cell after trenching old man Jenkin’s yard to make it up to you,” Hyde countered. “And second of all, I’ve always been there for you through every dumbass thing you caused or that happened to you. I’ve had to look after you all these years just to make sure you didn’t get your ass kicked.”
“I never asked for any of that,” Eric responded, setting his jaw and crossing his arms.
Hyde felt like he had been punched in the gut. He had spent years looking after Eric as he would if he were his own brother and for what? For Eric to throw it in his face? Hyde now felt like he had wasted so much time.
“You know what? I’m outta here,” he said and stomped towards the door.
“Good!” Eric shouted after him. “Go ahead! It proves to me what you’re good at: running away!”
“If you’d like to keep your teeth, I’d suggest you’d shut the hell up!” Hyde shouted, veins popping out of his neck. “Consider this friendship over.” With that he slammed the door shut, causing the door hinges to rattle.
Everyone stared at Eric with dropped jaws and disappointed, furrowed looks. Except for Donna. Only fire and fury burned in her eyes.
Eric sighed and turned to her. “Look, Donna, I—”
“Save it,” she said curtly. “I don’t want to hear it.”
“But, I—” he tried to defend himself, but Donna cut him off once again.
“I don’t care what your excuse is!” she snapped, raising her voice. “You’ve done a lot of stupid and messed up things and made yourself look like an ass, but this one tops it off. You were such a jackass that you made Kelso look like a saint!”
“You know what? You’d be pissed too if you had a sister and Hyde was nailing her,” he defended.
“Maybe, but I wouldn’t have reacted the way you did,” she replied. “I don’t care what is going on between them, the way you treated them was way out of line. And I can’t even look at you right now!”
“Yeah, Eric,” Fez said and stood from his seat. “You kick them out of the group, but we still want them here. If anything, you should be the one to leave.”
“Fez! What the hell?” Eric asked with his arms open and eyes wide. “How can you be on their side?”
“Because they’re happy,” Fez answered with his cute and innocent self. “And they’re good together.”
“Why does everyone keep saying that?!” Eric shouted.
“Because it’s true, you walnut!” Donna practically screamed. “I can’t believe how unbelievably dumb and selfish you’re being! This isn’t even about you! In fact, it’s about them and if you’re going to keep acting this way, I don’t want to be near you.”
“Does everyone feel this way?” he asked, exasperated.
“Yeah, pretty much,” Jackie answered, nodding along with Kelso.
“Well, that’s just great!” Eric shouted. “Then all of you can get out too.”
“Gladly!” Donna shouted and stormed out.
“See ya,” Jackie said, skipping out.
“Dude…” Kelso trailed off, shaking his head and sulked out the basement.
“Sorry, Eric,” Fez said and laid a hand on his shoulder. “If you weren’t such a jerk, you’d still have all your friends here. But now, you’re all alone.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Eric said, brushing off his hand. “See ya later.”
Fez frowned. “If you’d see past your anger, maybe you can see how happy they are and actually feel something towards each other. I wouldn’t call that a bad thing.”
With that being said, Fez walked out the basement, gently shutting the door, leaving a seething Eric standing alone.
“I heard yelling,” Kitty said concerned as she came down the stairs.
“Yeah, there was,” Eric sighed and rubbed a hand down his face.
“What happened this time?”
“Y/N and Hyde are—” he stopped himself before he could cause any further collateral damage.
Kitty stared at him confused. “Y/N and Steven are what, honey?”
Eric sighed again, rubbing his neck and tried to keep his voice steady. “They are the most annoying people on the planet.”
“Why’s that?”
“Because they…” he couldn’t think of anything good to say on the spot, so he improvised the best he could. “They stole and broke my G.I Joes.”
“And you’re yelling over that?” she asked, tilting her head to the side.
“Yeah…it was my favorite ones.”
“Oh, honey, you can always go buy more,” she said, turning her back on him to head back up the stairs. “But I’ll talk to them.”
She swayed back upstairs, leaving Eric completely alone. After she was out of sight, he collapsed onto the couch feeling completely spent. Why had he lied to Kitty about what they were fighting about? Why did he cover for them when he so badly wanted to tell her the truth?
He slumped back into the cushions of the couch, sighing once again, but this time he didn’t have anything else to say. He was alone and he knew he had messed up.
--Time Skip—
“So, you ended the friendship?” Y/N asked Steven, playing with his fingers. They sat at the Hub, waiting for everyone else to show up.
Hyde sighed heavily and ran a hand through his curls. “Yeah, I did.”
“Because of me,” Y/N whispered and looked away, letting out a shaky breath. She felt a heaviness settle in her stomach. Like an anvil had made its way inside. “Oh God, I’m so sorry Steven.”
“No, no,” he replied and grabbed her hands, holding them firmly. “Don’t say that. It maybe about you, but I didn’t end the friendship because of you. I ended it because of him.”
“But none of this would’ve happened if I hadn’t gotten in the way,” she whimpered. “I broke up a lifelong friendship.”
“Hey, Y/N look at me,” he said and cupped her cheek. Her watery eyes met his. “Yeah, this sucks, but if I had to choose between being with you and keeping my friendship with your dillhole brother, I’d choose you. A thousand times over.”
“But I’m not worth it,” she said, a stray tear escaping down her cheek. “I never meant for this to blow up the way it did. Maybe this was a mistake.”
“You really feel that way?” Hyde asked, a sharp pain stabbing him in the chest. “Is that what you want?”
“Of course not, but it’s caused so much damage to the group. We can’t even hang out anymore.”
“If it wasn’t for Eric’s blow up, we’d all still be in the basement hanging out right now,” Hyde responded, ignoring the pain he was feeling. “The only person causing this is him.”
“But it wouldn’t have happened if we hadn’t hooked up!”
Hyde sighed through his nose. “Look, I’ve never felt this way about anyone before and I’m not going to let it go just because some idiot wants me to. Only if you want me to.” He tilted her chin to make her look at him. “Do you want me to?”
She was quiet for a moment, looking in his intense blue eyes. She could see the hope and fear that lay within and knew she couldn’t leave him; because she felt the same. She couldn’t ignore her pounding heart when she was near him, or the butterflies that would erupt in her stomach when he would say something sweet to her; like he is now. Or that settling safety that she felt when he had his arm around her.
Before, she felt a timer with Zack and any other guy she may had dated. She knew her time with them wouldn’t last and that timer continued to tick until their time was up. That is until she ended up with Steven. The timer had stopped and gone silent, and she knew he was going to stay. For the first time, she felt at peace and warmed by him. He was her home as she was his.
Y/N swallowed thickly before shaking her head. “No. No I don’t.” She gave him a small smile and his muscles relaxed, a smile reaching his eyes. “I choose you a thousand times over.”
He smiled at her and grabbed her face gently between his hands. “Yeah, baby, a thousand times over.”
As he leaned in to kiss her, a loud “Aweeee!” came from behind them.
Y/N and Steven turned their heads to look at the group standing there, large grins plastered on their faces.
“No, no, go on. Go ahead and kiss her,” Donna gushed and laughed, sitting at the table.
Hyde and Y/N pulled away from each other and leaned back. “Moment ruined,” she commented.
“How long were you guys standing there?” Hyde asked nervously.
“Not long,” Donna responded and smirked at him. “’Baby.’”
“I choose you a thousand times over,” Kelso mocked and started making kissy faces at Fez.
“Man, what the hell are you doing?” Hyde asked.
“I don’t know, but it’s funny,” Kelso responded and continued doing it.
Y/N chuckled and shoved Kelso, making him laugh. “So, Fez, where’s Caroline? Haven’t seen her around.”
“You probably scared her off,” Jackie laughed. “Finally someone who is crazier than her.”
“Yeah, but she uses it for good,” Hyde said, smiling.
“Actually, I broke up with her,” Fez replied. “She tried to stab me again.”
“Wait, again?” Y/N asked. “What do you mean by ‘again’?”
“Well, she tried to stab me once before and I told her that a man can only take so much,” he replied. “So, after the fourth or fifth time, I finally left.”
The group looked at each other concerned while Y/N fumed. “I’m gonna go find her.” She stood from her chair, but Hyde quickly grabbed her hand.
“No need,” Fez replied calmly, a smug look painting his handsome face, watching as Y/N sat back down. “I put her back in the mental ward.”
“How did you do that?” Hyde asked.
“I called the police, duh,” he responded.
“How did all this happen and not any of us know?” Donna asked concerned.
“Well, I didn’t get the chance with the whole Y/N, Hyde, and Eric dramatics.”
“What the hell?” Y/Nasked, furrowing her brows. “Fez this is much more important than our petty drama. You should’ve told us!”
“Thanks Y/N,” he responded sweetly. “I like you better than Eric.”
Y/N chuckled and tossed her hair over her shoulder. “Everybody does.”
The gang chuckled before turning their attention to Hyde.
“So, Steven where are you going to live now that you and Eric aren’t friends anymore?” Jackie asked.
“I honestly don’t know,” Hyde answered. “I was thinking maybe I could get a few more days over there. Gives me enough time to come up with an excuse.”
“You can stay with me,” Kelso offered. “My brothers are out of the house and we have an extra bedroom.”
“Thanks Kelso,” Hyde said and gave him a pat on the shoulder. “I’ll have to think about that one. I don’t need to be near a crying baby.”
“She doesn’t cry,” Kelso defended. “She just mainly sleeps and eat.”
“Well, to be fair, you only have her for a few hours a couple nights a week,” Jackie said.
“In my country, babies are a huge symbol of good luck and fortune,” Fez commented.
“Why’s that?” Donna asked.
Fez shrugged. “I never understood that part. I guess it appeases the gods or some crap like that. Fertile and continuing of our kind. But I always thought that was a bunch of bull hockey. Babies are loud and needy.”
“They’re babies Fez,” Jackie said. “They can’t take care of themselves.”
“Eh,” he replied. “They’re still nuisances.”
“So, if we were to stay together and we had a baby, that’s what you would think of that?”
“I don’t know. You never gave us a chance to find out,” he responded bitterly.
“Oooh,” Hyde said under his breath while everyone backed away from the table.
“You can’t be serious,” Jackie argued. “We broke up three weeks ago. And in that time, you brought home another girl.”
“Oh, and like you haven’t?!” Fez asked.
Hyde closed his eyes, lips tight, trying not to laugh at his friend’s poor choice of words. Y/N shook her head and Donna covered her mouth with her hand, trying to contain her giggles. Kelso was already dreaming of Jackie and some other girl getting it on.
Jackie’s face scrunched up in confusion. “No, Fez. I haven’t brought anyone home. C’mon, can we have a decent conversation like adults?”
“No,” he said, frowning at her. “You hurt me like when a child gets his langamigna taken away from him.”
“When a child gets what taken from him?” Hyde asked.
“Lollipop in my language,” he answers and turns his glare back to Jackie.
“I’m sorry, Fez,” Jackie said. “Look, I want us to be friends again.”
Fez looked at everyone and as if they got the hint, they all got up, leaving them two alone.
“What do you want me to say?” he asked her, leaning back against the chair and shoved his hands in his pockets. “You want me to accept your apology and have us go back to normal? Like you never ripped my heart out to begin with?”
“Well, no, not exactly,” she responded and scooted closer to him. “I was hoping we could work on becoming friends again.”
Fez glared at her with tears beginning to well in his eyes. “How can I be just your friend when I was so in love with you and still am?”
Jackie looked down at her lap and sniffed. “I know, I do too. But we should still try.”
Fez leaned forward and grabbed her hands, anger completely dissipated. “Then what’s stopping us? Didn’t you always say that love conquers all?”
Jackie looked up into his deep, dark eyes; completely melting into them. Her lip quivered as she spoke. “This time love isn’t enough,” she whispered.
A single tear slipped down Fez’s cheek and he quickly retracted his hands from hers and quickly wiped at his face. “Why?” he asked. “Why isn’t our love enough?”
“Because we’re not right for each other,” she whimpered.
From a few feet away, the gang was listening in with sad faces. Y/N leaned into Hyde, him throwing an arm around her and pulled her close. Donna leaned against the window with crossed arms, looking at the floor, and Kelso squeezing her shoulder.
“What do you mean it’s not enough?”
Jackie shook her head, barley containing her tears. “We’re just not right for each other. I see it, you see it, even the group sees it. We just never matched the way a couple should.”
“I’ve always loved you,” he whispered, looking down at the floor.
She reached over and cupped his cheek. “I know.” She smiled sadly at him and met his eyes. “And I will always love you.”
Fez looked at her before leaning in to give her one last, loving kiss. Jackie melted into the kiss, tears streaming faster down her face. She brought her hands up to his face as he deepened the kiss, pulling her closer to him.
When he pulled away, he leaned his forehead against hers. “We could’ve been great, you know.”
“But we weren’t,” she breathed.
Fez nodded his head and pulled away. “I know.”
“But, you showed me what it felt like to be loved and appreciated and that’s all I ever wanted,” Jackie said, trying to lift the mood. “I didn’t have to worry if you were out with other girls or going to run away. Thank you for showing me what I deserve.”
“Thank you for loving me despite being the weird one of the group,” Fez laughed half heartedly.
“I call it eccentric,” Jackie giggled sadly. “You deserve someone who will love every part of you. The good, the bad, and the weird. You deserve to have real chemistry with someone. Unfortunately, I couldn’t be her. But she’ll come along and you’ll forget all about me.”
Fez gave her a sad smile. “I could never forget you.”
“You’re right, you can’t,” Jackie chuckled. “No man can.”
They laughed softly together and stared into each other eyes.
“I love you, Jackie.”
“I love you, too, Fez.”
They stood and reached over, enveloping each other in their arms, holding tight.
“Are we…are we okay?” Jackie asked once they pulled apart.
“Yes,” Fez said and brushed some hair off her shoulder. “We are. I need you in my life. Whether it’s as a friend or my girlfriend, I still need you.”
“And I need you.”
They smiled at each other for a minute before Fez looked at his watch. He sighed and clapped his hands together. “I, uh, I better get going. I have to go do something with my host parents.”
Jackie nodded. “Sure, sure. See you later?”
Fez smiled. “Yeah, of course.”
Jackie returned the smile. “Okay, see you later.”
“Bye,” Fez said quietly, leaning over and kissing her cheek. He zipped up his jacket and walked out into the crispy fall air of Point Place.
Tears of sadness and relief welled in Jackie’s eyes as she slumped back down in her chair.
“Jackie, are you okay?” Y/N asked as the group came back to surround her. She wrapped an arm around Jackie’s shoulders and squeezed.
“Yeah. I think so,” Jackie said, finally feeling like she could speak the truth about her feelings. “Yeah, yeah I am. It just won’t be the same for a while.”
“Jackie, no one’s asking for it to be,” Donna murmured to Jackie comfortingly.
“But I am,” Jackie responded and ran a hand through her hair.
“We’re here for you, Jackie,” Y/N said and laid her head on Jackie’s shoulders.
Jackie felt a weight had been lifted off her chest, but now new one, yet lighter one, now rested its way in there. She just wanted things to go back to normal. At least now the worst part of it was over.
“Yeah, we are,” Hyde said genuinely. “You need anything, you let us know.”
“Thanks, Steven,” Jackie said glumly, but looked at him confused. “This is unusually nice of you.”
“I do that a lot actually, yet people are always so surprised,” he chuckled once Jackie’s lips curved into a small smile. “But seriously, man, you’ve been there for me and Y/N during this whole mess. It’s only fair I return the favor.”
“Well, I didn’t do it to be owed a favor,” she said.
Hyde smiled kindly at her. “I know.”
She smiled back at him and wiped at her nose. “Thanks you guys.”
“You’re welcome, Jackie,” Kelso said. “Hey, if you want to, I can make you feel better if we—”
“Kelso, I swear to God if you say ‘do it’ I’m going to kick you in the head,” Y/N threatened.
“I was going to say do circle time! God!” Kelso cried out.
“Oh,” Y/N responded, surprised. “Yeah, that sounds good, then.”
“Yeah, I can do that,” Jackie said, standing and grabbing her coat off the back of the chair.
“Oh good ‘cause after smoke time, we should definitely do it,” Kelso laughed.
The gang groaned and turned to him.
“SHUT UP, KELSO!”
part two || ( part one )
randy was . . . annoyed . the last week he’d been attempting to spend more time with you . attempting , barely succeeding . billy and stu were only supposed to be your movie buddies , your friends , but they seemed to take up most of your free time . it was his own fault , and he was kicking himself for that . too busy doing his own thing to really pay attention to you for more than a weekly date night and the occasional time spent working the same shifts . he wanted to groan and rub his face in his hands . was he really that shitty of a boyfriend ? apparently so . because every single fucking time he’d tried to ask you out in the last week , those two fucking flirts had shown the fuck up , or somehow dropped you off at his house , or just fucking - and how were you not at all , in the least bit , suspicious as to why they were always around ? hell , it was obvious those two fuckers were up to something ! did sidney know ? did tate ? did they really know how much time you three spent together ? did they know like he knew ?
he sighed , pointedly looking away as you tugged at the sleeves of his shirt to pull him off his couch . “ randy , come on ! stu invited us to the party . it’ll be fun , and i haven’t seen sidney and tate in a while . you like sidney and tate ! please ? i don’t wanna go all alone ? ” he sighed again , looking up at you with a frown . he didn’t want to go . he didn’t want to have to watch you and billy and stu fuck around together while he awkwardly stood in a corner . but you were right , letting you go alone would be a worse choice . and . . . it had been a while since he’d seen sidney . and tate .
with another drawn out sigh he let you pull him up , finding himself smiling at how you bounced happily on your heels that he was being agreeable . but it soon fell as he remembered the only reason you even wanted to go was to see billy and stu . “ yeah . we won’t stay late though . ”
you nodded , lifting up to place a kiss on his cheek . the simple action causing him to blush and glance away for a moment , before quickly leaning in and giving you a quick kiss on your lips . his face seemed to get even redder as he stood up and quickly walked to the door . you could only hum , holding in the giggles that threatened to spill from you . randy was cute . so cute and so shy . every time he kissed you he always got so flustered . it was one of the things you liked about him .
- - -
you were out of the car and next to randy’s door before he could even get out . your excitement was irritating him . would you be this excited if it was his party you were going to ? he huffed , shoulders slumped as he got out of the car . before you could get a head start to the door , be wrapped an arm around your waist . he could needed to keep you close . to show off how you were his . that you were off limits . but he faltered when you blinked up at him confused . and he remembered he’d never done something like this before . glancing away he mumbled out a , “ just want to hold on to you . do you have a - do you want me to let you go ? ” fuck ! why couldn’t he just fucking man up and tell you he was going to hold you like this instead of asking . fuck !
“ mm . it’s nice . i like it . ” and it was true . it felt nice to have randy make a move and try to be closer to you . it made you all warm inside knowing that your boyfriend wanted to be closer . “ come on , let’s get inside . i’m excited to see what stu set up ! ” randy rolled his eyes , at that . of course you were excited to see them . he was growing more and more concerned that they’d brainwashed you or something .
at the door , randy went to knock but you didn’t wait a beat before twisting the handle and pushing the door open . he blinked , frowning down at you , “ you don’t knock ? ” you looked up at him grinning , sticking your tongue out teasingly .
“ do you think stu is going to be waiting by the door to open it ? we’d be stuck outside forever ! ” why was it that any time these two were brought up , randy felt more and more concerned with how deep the relationship between you was ? maybe he needed to have a serious conversation with you . being so friendly and just . . . so casual with them was starting to leave a bad taste in his mouth . you weren’t even this laid back with him .
randy’s inner monologue and turmoil was quickly pushed to the back of his mind as he found himself in stu’d kitchen . billy standing next to sidney , leaning half way on the kitchen island with a drink in his hand and smirk on his face . and stu leaning over tate and laughing while tate double fisted two ted solo cups .
“ hey guys ! you finally made it . we were wondering if you were even going to come . ” sidney smiled , giving a wave at the pair of you , and you happily gave one back . you wanted to apologize but randy spoke up before you had the chance .
“ uh , h - hi sidney . we were just . . . running a little behind . ” randy cleared his throat looking away as he tried to hide the his embarrassed look .
“ yeah . well , if you took much longer we were planning on kidnapping , y/n . pretty sure that she would of died from boredom alone with you . ” sidney shook her head , smiling as she slapped a hand at billy’s chest . randy just glared at him . billy clicked his tongue , watching his randy’s face before letting his gaze travel to you , a flicker of amusement in his eyes as he saw how randy was holding you awkwardly . “ don’t give me that look randy . we all know you’re not man enough to show a girl a good time . ”
you stick your tongue out at billy , who smirks and leans back , wrapping his free arm around sidney and pulls her in , kissing her temple . might as well show the paranoid fuck how a real man holds his girl . “ don’t be mean . i’ll hide your white cheddar shaker on movie night and you’ll be forced to eat artificially bland microwave popcorn like me and stu . ”
stu laughed , “ oooh . gotta play nice now . even y/n knows how delicate randy’s feelings are . ” tate snorted and bumped her head against stu’d chin .
“ don’t start too . i’m pretty sure , y/n might threaten you with a bad time on your dumb horror and gore movie nights . ” stu gasped , looking at you with a shocked expression as if to day ‘ you wouldn’t dare ’ . you just grinned back .
“ i barely call the movies they watch horror . the effects are all lame . they aren’t even good storylines , and the directors are trash . ” it was a lame shot at they’re movie watching pride , but randy wasn’t about to stand here and let sidney and tate think that billy and stu had any good tastes in movies . “ i don’t even know why you spend time with these two watching c-list wanna be horror . ”
“ oof . okay , boys . you three have your little movie spat . we’re going to head over to the livingroom and enjoy ourselves . y/n , come on , before they start taking out their dicks to compare sizes . ” tate moved away from stu , who was smiling a little too hard at randy , to grab sidney and wave you over . before you left , randy leaned down , wanting to give you a kiss but chickened out under the watchful eyes of the group and just mummered a ‘ don’t go too far ’ instead . you smiled , giving a smile as you waved at billy and stu , letting sidney and tate drag you away .
billy waited till they were gone to look randy up and down , giving a smug look . “ well , look who’s trying to grow a pair . ” stu snickered , the pair of them moving from their side of the kitchen island to stand on either side of randy , not giving him a way to escape .
“ think he’s still pissed that we hang out with his girlfriend more than him ? ”
“ yeah , stu . i think he might be . is that why you’re trying to be big man on campus ? trying to make lame ass digs at our movie preferences ? ” billy pinched randy’s nose hard and tugged it to either side , making randy wince . “ you’d think that you’d be a little more careful . insulting the movies we watch means you’re insulting y/n , too . ”
“ you’re a real shitty boyfriend , randy ! too scared to even give them a kiss . awwwww . ” stu snickered moving to stand behind billy and flash a cruel smile at him . “ don’t bring down my party . i worked hard to make it fun . and i’ll lock you in a closet if you start making it as depressing as you are . ”
billy smirked at that , letting go of randy’s nose . “ let’s go make sure they’re not having too much fun without us . ” he turned , not sparing randy another glance as he made his way to the living room . stu happily following behind , laughing at how he hoped they were so they could jump in with them .
randy shuffled on his feet , glaring at the back of their heads and then the wall . fuck . he knew they were up to something . they wouldn’t be such dicks other wise . well . . . they would . they were always dicks . with a sigh and a mutter of complaints under his breath , he followed after them . he trusted you with sidney and tate . but not so much with billy and stu . hell , he’d trust you with any of the other half drunk morons at the party before he trusted billy and stu .
part two
part one |
randy was … annoyed . the last week he’d been attempting to spend more time with you . attempting , barely succeeding . billy and stu were only supposed to be your movie buddies , your friends , but they seemed to take up most of your free time . it was his own fault , and he was kicking himself for that . too busy doing his own thing to really pay attention to you for more than a weekly date night and the occasional time spent working the same shifts . he wanted to groan and rub his face in his hands . was he really that shitty of a boyfriend ? apparently so . because every single fucking time he’d tried to ask you out in the last week , those two fucking flirts had shown the fuck up , or somehow dropped you off at his house , or just fucking - and how were you not at all , in the least bit , suspicious as to why they were always around ? hell , it was obvious those two fuckers were up to something ! did sidney know ? did tate ? did they really know how much time you three spent together ? did they know like he knew ?
he sighed , pointedly looking away as you tugged at the sleeves of his shirt to pull him off his couch . “ randy , come on ! stu invited us to the party . it’ll be fun , and i haven’t seen sidney and tate in a while . you like sidney and tate ! please ? i don’t wanna go all alone ? ” he sighed again , looking up at you with a frown . he didn’t want to go . he didn’t want to have to watch you and billy and stu fuck around together while he awkwardly stood in a corner . but you were right , letting you go alone would be a worse choice . and … it had been a while since he’d seen sidney . and tate .
with another drawn out sigh he let you pull him up , finding himself smiling at how you bounced happily on your heels that he was being agreeable . but it soon fell as he remembered the only reason you even wanted to go was to see billy and stu . “ yeah . we won’t stay late though . ”
you nodded , lifting up to place a kiss on his cheek . the simple action causing him to blush and glance away for a moment , before quickly leaning in and giving you a quick kiss on your lips . his face seemed to get even redder as he stood up and quickly walked to the door . you could only hum , holding in the giggles that threatened to spill from you . randy was cute . so cute and so shy . every time he kissed you he always got so flustered . it was one of the things you liked about him .
- - -
you were out of the car and next to randy’s door before he could even get out . your excitement was irritating him . would you be this excited if it was his party you were going to ? he huffed , shoulders slumped as he got out of the car . before you could get a head start to the door , be wrapped an arm around your waist . he could needed to keep you close . to show off how you were his . that you were off limits . but he faltered when you blinked up at him confused . and he remembered he’d never done something like this before . glancing away he mumbled out a , “ just want to hold on to you . do you have a - do you want me to let you go ? ” fuck ! why couldn’t he just fucking man up and tell you he was going to hold you like this instead of asking . fuck !
“ mm . it’s nice . i like it . ” and it was true . it felt nice to have randy make a move and try to be closer to you . it made you all warm inside knowing that your boyfriend wanted to be closer . “ come on , let’s get inside . i’m excited to see what stu set up ! ” randy rolled his eyes , at that . of course you were excited to see them . he was growing more and more concerned that they’d brainwashed you or something .
at the door , randy went to knock but you didn’t wait a beat before twisting the handle and pushing the door open . he blinked , frowning down at you , “ you don’t knock ? ” you looked up at him grinning , sticking your tongue out teasingly .
“ do you think stu is going to be waiting by the door to open it ? we’d be stuck outside forever ! ” why was it that any time these two were brought up , randy felt more and more concerned with how deep the relationship between you was ? maybe he needed to have a serious conversation with you . being so friendly and just … so casual with them was starting to leave a bad taste in his mouth . you weren’t even this laid back with him .
randy’s inner monologue and turmoil was quickly pushed to the back of his mind as he found himself in stu’d kitchen . billy standing next to sidney , leaning half way on the kitchen island with a drink in his hand and smirk on his face . and stu leaning over tate and laughing while tate double fisted two ted solo cups .
“ hey guys ! you finally made it . we were wondering if you were even going to come . ” sidney smiled , giving a wave at the pair of you , and you happily gave one back . you wanted to apologize but randy spoke up before you had the chance .
“ uh , h - hi sidney . we were just … running a little behind . ” randy cleared his throat looking away as he tried to hide the his embarrassed look .
“ yeah . well , if you took much longer we were planning on kidnapping , y/n . pretty sure that she would of died from boredom alone with you . ” sidney shook her head , smiling as she slapped a hand at billy’s chest . randy just glared at him . billy clicked his tongue , watching his randy’s face before letting his gaze travel to you , a flicker of amusement in his eyes as he saw how randy was holding you awkwardly . “ don’t give me that look randy . we all know you’re not man enough to show a girl a good time . ”
