what goal are you aiming for this year? Well, right now I’m just trying to get better from this infection I have and take this disgusting antibiotic for the next 10 days. I wasn’t sure I could do it. I’m still not, but I kinda have to. I’m not getting into it all over again, I made a lengthy rant in a previous recent survey, but basically it’s absolutely awful because I have to crush my pills and this pill is d i s g u s t i n g. My body revolts it when I take it and I have to fight to keep the damn thing down. My body is also dramatic and I don’t do well with nasty tasting things (I mean, most people don’t, but they can probably just suck it up and chug whatever it is or eat it really quickly and move along barely fazed at all... not me). It’s just causing a lot of stress and anxiety and makes me feel worse than the illness because of it and yeah. Not fun. Unfortunately, that’s my only option unless I want to spend a week in the hospital to receive the medicine through an IV and that sounds awful as well. Ha, so much for not getting into all over again. *shrug*

are you currently reading any books at the moment? Not at the moment. I just finished one a few days ago, though, and plan to start a new one soon.

what remedy do you partake when experiencing the common cold? The good ol’ wait-for-it-to-go-away life hack. <<< Yep. Cold medicines can help alleviate some of the symptoms a little, although I personally find they don’t really help at all except for if I have a headache. I honestly don’t usually bother taking any cold medicines. I think teas can be soothing and can make me feel a little more relaxed. Ultimately, though, it’s just something you’re gonna have for at least a week or so regardless.

would you ever spend a weekend in the mountains in a log cabin? Not alone, but yes absolutely. That sounds amazing.

So I am an ENFP capricorn and my enneagram is 7w8! My behaviour with other really depends on my mood and on their personalities so other's image of me goes from "wow she is so friendly" to "wtf she is so conceited and manipulative". Since my height is on the shorter side and my cheeks are always red and freckly, I look younger and more innocent than I actually am.

I have a super flirty personality but since I do it unknowingly or ironically sometimes, when people take it seriously I freak out and run away. I finally have time to write, damn it! I have been MIA for the longest time (and Twitter has been basically my place for word vomit) but I swear I have been trying to write something here -- as proven by my numerous drafted posts. LOL. 😓

If you’ve been following me on Twitter or Instagram, I TURNED TWENTY FOUR a few months back. Yup, I have officially changed my profile every where to 24. I still can’t believe I am THAT old but meh. 

I celebrated my birthday walking dogs and getting drunk around Sheung Wan and Central Hongkong with my boyfriend -- super low key but probably one of the best birthday celebrations ever! 💜 But I’d probably save a different post for that -- WHEN I FIND THE TIME AND ENERGY TO DO SO. (Possibly never, but let’s see lol)

And since I am T W E N T Y F O U R (ack!), I have decided to come up with a blog post on 24 life realizations I have at 24 - some are realizations I’ve had leading up to my 24th but you get my point. 😂

1. Love comes when you least expect it - cliché, I know. But I met my boyfriend at this random birthday party I gate-crashed AKA his 30th birthday. 😁 Long story short, we’ve been going out for over a year now. We both weren’t looking for anything then since he just got out of a toxic relationship, and I was casually going out with random people. But here we are. 😜

2. No need to rush things, do things at your own pace - I started my Masters over 2 years ago, and you’ve guessed it, most of my batch mates have their Masters degree already. 🙆🏾 At some point, I wanted to study full-time cos I’ve gotten envious of my friends. But since my parents are still (yep, I know. Shame on me) paying for my tuition fee, I don’t want to burden them with allowance expenses + my living expenses (If you’re new here, I actually live alone lol) so I need to keep my job. Now I’m 1 subject away from defending my paper! I’m almost there! And it’s actually not bad. 🤗

3. Don’t live beyond your means - Ahh, my dad’s favorite life lesson. I never thought about it then since I was living under my parents’ support, but now that I live alone I have to make ends meet month on month. In layman’s terms IF YOU CAN’T AFFORD IT, JUST DON’T. 

4. Don’t put your eggs in one basket - I know I am not the best person to be all preachy about money (cos I am bad at handling my own finances, but I try) but I have 3 savings accounts in different banks. It comes in handy when one bank fucks shit up (like goes on a nationwide shut down *cough BPI*, or one that just eats up your card and your money from time to time *cough BDO*). 

5. Your past doesn’t define you or how you’d succeed in the future - Another cliché saying, but I swear you get to realize why people say it often. I’ve done so much shit when I was younger but believe me when I say such experiences will help you realize stuff later on. After all, we learn from our mistakes and such mistakes will push us to be better people tomorrow. 

6. Your choices in life are your own, don’t let people tell you otherwise - You will never share the exact same beliefs with everyone, I’m sure about that. Just do you and brush off other opinions, they don’t matter - believe me. 

7. Keep your circle close and small - Your real friends genuinely care, the others are just curious. Be cautious.

8. Always be kind - And this applies to everyone: guards, maids, janitors, etc. Believe me, if you’re nice to everyone, it’s easier to ask for favors. 😜

9. Travel alone - You should try this at least once in your life, me thinks. It gave me a sense of liberty and independence! I did this when I was trying to mend my cracked heart - and I came back to Manila feeling all refreshed and happy. I guess I learned that I don’t need a man to survive! HAHA! 😂

10. Don’t complain, do something about it - Ranting is fine, human nature. But if you will just sit down and whine when something could actually be done, then maybe you should rethink your life choices honey. Instead of wasting your time and energy complaining, why don’t you stop and think? Things and answers won’t always be served to you on a silver platter, FIND WAYS. 😊

11. Don’t forget to remove your make up at the end of the day - PLEASE. Do yourself a favor and let your face breathe! 😛 

12. ALWAYS MOISTURIZE AND PUT SPF - *i-capslock mo para intense!!!* I couldn’t stress this enough. I actually keep various moisturizers depending on the weather, I have intensive moisturizers for when I travel and light ones for the Philippine heat. Just please, never skip it! 

13. One at a time - My boyfriend would always tell me this when I’m stressing over work, school, among other things. It helps, actually. Stop, arrange your thoughts, and do things one at a time. 

12. Treat yourself - Now before you go crazy and tell me that this is a bad thing, I didn’t say you have to buy that expensive bag you’ve been eyeing on for so long because “I DESERVE IT”. Going back to point number 3, if you can’t afford it - IT’S A NO. It can be as simple as “I did a great job today, I deserve good coffee - not my usual pantry coffee”, which is my usual way of treating myself. If you can afford to buy that expensive bag to treat yourself, BY ALL MEANS DO IT. But always remember POINT NUMBER 3!  

13. Family will always come first - Ah, this is one of the many things I realized growing up. Of course I was super excited to grow up so I can go out with my friends whenever I wanted to before. But when I moved out, I always look forward to weekends so I can come home to my family. What a baby, I know right?  

14. Let go and let God - I am not the most religious person in the world, heck I barely even hear mass (I’m busy, but that’s not an excuse I’m sorry). But I really believe in greater power from above. I always find myself in hopeless situations, where I find my shitty ass crying myself to bed on most nights (add that I also live alone so imagine how bad it must be lol). But I usually find myself just getting through the worst days with little miracles. And I always thank God for that. 

15. If you feel so happy with the wrong person, image how happy you’d be with the right one? - Eep, another cliché saying c/o me lol. But seriously, I thought I couldn’t be happy anymore when I once got my heart broken HAHAHA. Cut to mid-last year, I’m extremely happy -- waaay happier than before. Not saying I’m already with the person for me, though I really do hope so (HAHAHA yuck cheese) but I’m happier than before and I’m sure the person I’m with is a better person amongst all the guys I went out with before.

16. Take long walks. - I enjoy this so much especially abroad. I went on a birthday trip in Hong Kong and I spent 70% of the time walking - thinking and reflecting. 😅 I think long peaceful walks are good for everyone’s sanity.

17. Cut off toxic people. -  Not everyone you lose is a loss. If they aren’t doing you good, what’s the use of keeping them? 

18. Life is what you make it. - If you want something to happen, the first step starts with you. 😅 If you don’t take the first step, nothing will happen. SERIOUSLY. Everything doesn’t happen by chance!!!!! 

19. You don’t have to have a reaction on everything. - I believe there are things better left unsaid. I know a lot of people would disagree. But I still think the saying “If you have nothing nice to say, just zip it” is still superior. Lol.

20. Work isn’t everything. - I recently had to stop working for a week and a half due to some health concerns. It sucked balls. But I came to realize work isn’t everything -- YOUR HEALTH (mental health included) IS WAY MORE IMPORTANT.

21. Quite connected to the bullet prior, Work can wait. - I have learned to keep work within working hours. Remember, work will always come and it will never be done. Know what’s most important and prioritize! That’s the key. Whatever’s left can be done tomorrow. You don’t have to spend 12 hours in the office all day and stress out on work, tbh.

22. Choose your battles. - Not everything is worth stressing over. (remember point 19!) 😋

23. Respect begets respect. - Respect opinions, respect people - young and old alike. Sometimes we just have to learn to agree to disagree. 

24. Live life to the fullest. - Another cliché saying, but honestly you’ll never be as young as you are today. Make mistakes so you will never make the same ones in the future, learn the ropes of life through the decisions you make everyday. Not everything will go our way, that’s for sure, but life is only what we make of it.

Episode 1: New Beginnings and Bitter Disapointments

Welcome to my brand new Sims 3 Challenge: The Amazon Challenge. Some of you might recognize my username or maybe just my style of legacy storytelling from the Iridescence Legacy, which unfortunately now has so many damn problems (corrupt save file, deleted photos from both online and off) that there’s really no salvaging it anymore. And on my last generation too - I was so convinced I was going to finally finish one, but alas, lol. Anyway, I decided to move from LJ to here because of the BS anti-LGBT TOS they’re implementing, but it was probably a good idea anyway as tumblr seems a bit more popular with the simming community nowadays :)

Anyway, let’s dive right in, shall we? 

Meet our Founder, Xena. Yes, I know Xena was not an Amazon but listen, I am obsessed anyway and besides, she was fucking tall enough to be one, lol. Regardless, our tribe leader Xena has a much different personality anyway, and is a brave and flirty diva who is both a perfectionist and athletic. Her LTW is Perfect Mind, Perfect Body.

Oh yes, and she is also a werewolf, and the tattoo on her back is representative of her royal bloodline and position as the head of the pack tribe. As such, a heiress must also be a werewolf that has the most ‘approved’ traits listed on the challenge. That means someone who might become heiress can also be knocked from their rank by a younger sibling that is more worthy than the previous. 

But moving on, no tribe would be complete without at least one male slave to do all of the dirty work so our Warrior Princess Queen never has to lift a finger to do literally anything, lol.

Xena: Hello, I am interested in speaking to your owner. Is she around?

Thornton: I’m sorry... my what? Xena: Oh, nevermind. I don’t know why I bother to speak to the help anyway, you all end up having a lower IQ than a bloody moth.

Xena: Hello, I am interested in procuring your male servant for the purposes of furthering the betterment of my Amazonian Tribe.  Morgana: You... mean my husband? Xena: If that’s what you kids call slaves now a days, sure.

Morgana: Wait, so you mean to tell me that you would take my annoying husband off my hands and leave me with his immense fortune? Yeah, yeah... I can picture that happening.

Morgana: Yup, actually that sounds absolutely perfect. Have at it, and tell him to not bother saying goodbye because he was nothing more than a sugar daddy anyway. Xena: Lovely. Pleasure doing business with you.

Xena: Alright, Daor, now that I’ve shaved those awful sideburns off your face and put you in an outfit more fit for a slave, I now require you to build me an abode. Get to it! Daor: Wait, what? Daor? My name is-- Xena: I’m sorry, did I stutter? I’ll call you whatever I damn well please, now do what I say before I decide you’re not worth my effort and procure a different slave!

Don’t get too attached to this shit - I end up moving them to a different town eventually since originally I wanted them in isla paradiso but my game was acting weird. I eventually fixed the issue though, but we’ll get to that later.

Since I don’t allow my Tribe Leader to work because honestly, a Queen should never have to work a day in their lives lmao, and since slaves can’t work either, they’re pretty effing poor and I make Daor collect shit on the regular just so they can make a little bit of money, haha.

He seems to enjoy it though. Ah, the simple pleasures in life.

Xena found a friend as well! I decided he is now the tribe’s mascot and named him Guapo, lol.

Daor is working on his gardening skills as well because, again, they are poor as fucking dirt.

He also fishes, but he kinda sucks at it. I mean honestly, how is that tiny thing supposed to feed anyone? Ugh. Men.

Anyway, an Amazonian Tribe isn’t complete without more women, so I sent Xena out to scour the town for their first recruit, who ended up being easily impressed, a natural cook, ambitious, and a daredevil who had commitment issues.

Xena: Hello there, you look utterly helpless and in need of a direction in life. May I interest you in joining my Amazonian tribe? Lesbianism is not required but heavily encouraged - just not with me because let’s face it, I’m way out of your league right now it’s not even funny.

Random Woman: Oh wow, I’m super flattered; I’ve never been a lesbian before! By the way, my name is– Xena: Why do people keep trying to tell me their names? No, I don’t care. Your name is Euryleia now. Learn to love it, because I don’t have time to listen to incessant whining over tribal names.

Xena: By the way, you’re going to have fix... all of that if you ever plan to move up in rank. We are vain by nature, or maybe I’m just a superficial bitch by nature, but either way. You’re going to have to go get yourself a job though, because we can’t afford your damn gym membership right now.

Euryleia: I will go get a job right away then, Mistress! Xena: Good. I like people who can take direction. Also people who call me mistress. That will be allowed to continue, by the way.

So Euryleia went out and got herself a part time job, as that is all that is allowed at her rank. The money is still shit, but at least it’s better than nothing.

He is literally the worst slave ever, lol.

As punishment for burning the food, I made a starving Daor stand way in the back and watch everyone else eat the food that he finally managed to make halfway decent. 

Xena: You know what would be better than this place? An island.  Euryleia: I agr-- Xena: I’m sorry, did I say I was asking for opinions? I’m just musing right now, so eat your food and stay silent.

I took pity on Daor and let him eat a mushroom, even though he looks like he’s trying to smoke it, haha.

The next day the two Amazons hit the gym so Xena could work on her LTW and  Euryleia could attempt to lose a little bit of weight so she could move up in rank at some point.

Xena: Oh stop whining, it’s not that difficult! Euryleia: But Mistress, my legs are not cooperating!

However somethings weird with my game and I realized that even with a high enough skill she can’t go actual scuba diving as all my community lots just say ‘community lots’ without names for some reason? So Euryleia went downtown and got herself a job in the Culinary Career, since Daor sucks at making food anyway so it’d be good they got someone else to do that chore, lmao.

How do you feel about fire drills? They’re necessary at least for us since the Philippines has been a hotspot for earthquakes recently - but I just get so lazy every time classes have to be cut off because we have to gather outside and deal with sirens and firetrucks. Alright, it's late and thankfully I don't have to wake up at any specific time but I do still have to get work done and be productive tomorrow (ugh) so I should get this done and go to sleep. Today was pretty good all in all. Alarm went off at 9, got ready and checked my app to see when my bus was coming only to find it WASN'T coming, and the next bus was a full half an hour away and I can't do that shit so I obviously needed an alternative route. So I walked to the red line instead like I was going to school and then once I got to the loop transferred to the blue line and took that the rest of the way to church, so it worked out alright but I was a few minutes later than I would've preferred. Oh well. I was in the nursery for the first service, and thankfully we had ample help show up because there were only two of us signed up online and for the 11 am that could be a bit much. There were a good number of babies, fairly quiet which is always appreciated, no big crying episodes that required texting parents, so that was good. Got to hold a variety of cute babies at different points that did various cute things, lol. Towards the end once almost all of them had been picked up already this one adorable little girl that's almost 2 was getting quite distressed and had me pick her up and just wait by the gate for a solid ten minutes while her parents talked in the lobby haha. A lot of times the babies will actually get anxious and upset when they see other babies being picked up and they haven't been yet, so I could deal with that. We were supposed to have two people signed up for the 12:30 service and one showed up, I can't really blame the other because she's a high schooler and comes with her family so I know when she doesn't make it it's probably not her fault, so I try to stick around enough to make sure nobody gets stranded alone with like 6 babies (and babies legit come in through the like, entire service, so you never know). So I ended up staying through the 12:30 service which was fine. I was a little sad about missing the sermon because I'll be gone next week too, but my tiny girl came for the last service so I got to play with her a lot and just have her generally be adorable, and she's gonna be 2 soon and move up to the 2 year olds room so I'm trying to play with her while I can, lol. She's so cute, she like walks in with her mom and sisters and just opens the gate and walks in all on her own, it's adorable. She'd like, just learning to talk and says a few words, so we were repeating different things to her to see if she'd say it back with like word association and such. At one point I was sitting with her and she looks at me and is just like "mama?" and I was like "no I'm not mama silly" and she just gets this confused look on her face and is like "dada..?" Lol it was really adorable. Whenever I try to get her to say my name she just looks at me and is like "no" which is also very cute and I know Rachel isn't generally an easy name for babies to get down lol so it's all good. The other baby we had had been in the 11 o clock as well and is usually fine but towards the end of the service he had reached his limit and started doing the screaming crying thing where they face gets all red and they sometimes forget to breathe (which scares the fuck out of me) and that didn't seem to be stopping anytime soon when a bottle and the offer of rest failed, so we ended up calling his mom which was fine with her, she knew it was a lot for a 10 month old to be in a different environment like that for an extended period of time. So yeah, overall it was quite the successful babies day. I just really love babies, can't tell? Lol. By the time I was leaving church t was like 2 and I was supposed to be at the mock trial scrimmage starting at 2, they knew I would be late but I said I'd get there ASAP so I got an uber there for the like, 10 minute drive to the school. The driver was a nice guy, he was telling me he had to cancel the one before me because this lady tried to bring her 16 month old into the car without a car seat and he was like no way lady I have kids I'm not doing that, and I was of course appalled that someone would ever think that's okay (if you're thinking well maybe they could afford one the pick up was in the west loop which is definitely one of the more affluent areas, so that's pretty unlikely to be the case). So I was at least happy to hear he was like yeah no way am I letting that happen. Got to school soon enough and ran up to the room. They hadn't started yet and were still kind of setting up, we'd end up waiting a good deal longer because one of the girls that's on the defense for our other team just didn't show and apparently may have gotten a concussion yesterday and didn't tell her coaches or anything???? And like we go to competition this Thursday?? So that can be all sorts of problematic. She didn't end up showing and I missed the final ruling on if she said she'd make it to competition or not, but that would royally suck if she couldn't. So for purposes of the scrimmage my partner got pulled in to be the other defense lawyer but we only got halfway through the case so he didn't end up doing much. The scrimmage went fine, I got to play my witness for the first time and try out my emotional responses and everything. It's weird because I'm playing the witness for the prosecution that I'll end up crossing on defense (obviously against a different prosecution) and of course the case theory is "the other parent did it" and at this point we have both parents being played by women so genders keep getting mixed up lol and like when I'm being crossed on it I'm thinking like what I would want a witness to say if I asked that question which can kind of mess with the answers I should give, lol. It was mostly good though. I was told I seemed to be "on the verge of tears" the whole time which is what I was going for, I'd like to possibly get some actual tears in there but I have no clue if that'll ever actually happen lol. We'll see. The girl who was missing was the one that crossed my character, so I was the only one there that crossed that character and I wanted to practice doing it as the witness so one of the coaches ended up reading my questions to me lol and as said above it was interesting. We stopped at that point though because it was getting late. Headed home and did my best to dive into my LARC work, which I'm still totally frustrated with, but I got a good amount of fixing up the first part with the edits my prof gave. The whole thing now is I have to write the "second issue" in the memo and it's really not clear what that is?? I messaged a classmate and asked and she didn't respond for a few hours so I messaged another one, and a few minutes later they both responded at the same time with totally different answers, haha so that's not terribly helpful but one said she was asking the prof so I asked her to let me know what the prof says, so hopefully that'll help. I spent a little time writing in some supplementary questions for my cross depending on what evidence gets in, and then wrote up a motion in limine to try and get the protective order excluded from evidence on the grounds that the burden of proof for receiving one is significantly lower than beyond a reasonable doubt and it's likely to be both prejudicial and confusing to the jury. I don't expect it to work because it's kind of a novel argument, but I think it's solid enough that it'll score us a few points for being inventive and such. Of course it's based largely on my own experience working with orders of protection at the DV clinic which is why I know all this shit to begin with. The only thing is only one team member can present the motions in limine and my partner is doing it (while I'm responding to the other side's) so I had to send it to him and explain it a bit, and I think he has enough of a handle on it to not mess it up too badly (I'm trying really hard to be patient with him because I know it isn't his fault that he doesn't know what he's doing but he doesn't know what he's doing and it's endlessly frustrating). When I finished with that I turned on crazy ex girlfriend and finished the rest of season 1. I would say I'd do a write up of my thoughts on it soon but tbh there is zero chance I'm going to have the time or energy to do that any time soon so I'll just put a few brief thoughts here. I love the ridiculous songs and how they parody classic musical theatre numbers perfectly, this show is 100% written by theatre people haha and it's great. I feel like Rebecca is me in a lot of ways haha and not just the whole (naturally) brown hair blue eyes, from New York, being a lawyer thing, but she's very relatable overall and I appreciate that. I'm not sure how I feel about the romance aspects. Obviously her romance with josh isn't going to last because then the show wouldn't have any premise to base its second season on, so something will happen there with Josh. Greg is kind of a dick though??? Like I feel like we're supposed to be rooting for him as the "nice guy" (blech) but he's actually so aggravating it drives me nuts. But yeah, overall really appreciate the show and am excited to watch the next season, and that's it for today. Tomorrow I have to get a shit ton of work done, so yay me I should get some sleep now.
