im rambling about me n devons ocsssss
for the deaths part, there's suicide mention(s) and mention(s) of fire !!
let m see if can remember deaths;
starting with the royales—
Jeremy was Michael Afton'ed (he got his insides ripped out basically)
Lucy got into... a car accident??? @deeplyinlovewithstars help
I think they said Diana got kidnapped? unsure
Dilon hung himself at a young age (the range was 5-12?? I think. I just know he was the first to die)
Derek was shot in the head at 15
Delilah got caught in a fire (I forget how old she was)
as for the mantovans—
Shamora got pushed off a building (I think she was the last to die.)
Alexandra was shot on her 16th birthday
misc characters—
Josh was deliberately drowned when he was twelve
Ash, same case scenario as Delilah, when he was younger
Haru (i forgot. but this just reminded me that HE was the last to die, not shamora)
and I'm sure that there are more, I just can't think of anyone else important
okay, now present canon ships !!!!! >:D (exes and current partners)
Josmora (Josh x Shamora; married)
Dilexru (this is an improvised ship name for Dilon x Alexandra x Haru; married)
Derash (Derek x Ash; married)
Jerelucy (Jeremy x Lucy; married)
Alarchie (Alexandra x Archie; exes)
Dereseph??? (Derek x Joseph; exes)
that's all I can remember
other relationships—
Diana, Dilon, Derek, Delilah (oldest-youngest; siblings)
Shamora, Alexandra (siblings)
Alexandra, Derek (best friends; in-laws)
Shamora, Delilah/Dilon (best friends; in-laws)
Delilah, Joshua/Ash (best friends; in-laws? Ash is her in law, not sure about Josh)
Shamora, Dilory (enemies. Dilory fucking killed her bye)
Every main OC, Joseph (they would all kill him on the spot)
probably some more
HEADCANONS + FACTS YAYYY
oh God where to begin
let's get. let's get Dilon out of the way. we hced a few months ago that he would NNNOT bail his spouses out of prison. oh, shamoras in jail? bailed. Josh is in jail? bailed. Lucy is in jail? bailed. Alex and Haru? keep them in there until their sentence is up. (/hj). don't get him wrong, he LOVES his spouses. but holy shit.
everyone has daddy issues. except ash. he's an orphan he doesn't get issues (jkjk but I THINK he had mommy issues??)
fun fact; the ONLY OC who has kept her personality throughout the years, was Lucy. she's perfect. I cringe every time I read back on old roleplays and see old screenshots. shamora would NOT act like this KILL IT
another fun fact; we would always argue over whether or not Jeremy was a top or bottom. this bitch recently revealed that he is a SWITCH (as Jeremy is their oc)
ANOTHER fun fact; during the starting days of our roleplays, Jeremy was like. Lucifer and Lucy was like Lillith. I'm so positive that this HAS changed. a lot. it probably isn't even canon anymore js
I think that Derek and Haru get along well, and yes it is because Joseph is Haru's brother as well as Derek's ex, BUT! Haru does NOT, and WILL not condone the type of abuse Joseph put Derek through EVER. he does not condone his brother's actions whatsoever, and always sided with Derek after he found out about everything.
adding onto Derek and Haru; Derek probably freaked out the first few times he saw Haru, given that him and Joseph look alike, if you don't count Haru's heterochromia
everyone lives together !! well, there's this one mansion that EVERYONE lives in, but they all have their separate homes for privacy (this is actually canon)
I'd like to think that Alex dyed her hair because she doesn't like thinking back on her birthday, aka the day she died. she's originally brunette, like shamora, but dyed her hair blue as to rid that image from her conscious. sometimes she forgets what she used to look like, until she somehow comes across an older picture, which sends her into a spiral
despite their coldness and stoicness, I would like to think that, if not anything else, Shamora and Dilon are passionate when it comes to their lovers !!
Dilon is the second oldest out of like five kids, affection was probably a frequent thing given how deprived of it they were when they were kids.. so if Alex were to fall victim to a panic attack, or if Haru just wasn't having a good day, Dilon would know, and go about dealing with it in his own ways. as I said earlier, he absolutely loves his spouses, even if he flat out refuses to acknowledge it most of the time. this only happens behind closed doors !! and I don't think they would tease him for it. this is rare, and he means well, so they'd accept it with lots of love !! plus they don't really feel like getting hit in the head with a pot like. ever.
and, unlike Dilon, Shamora initiates affection herself, even when she knows that Josh doesn't need it in that moment. her sister was clingy growing up, so she hardly minds Josh's clinginess. in fact, she'll start to get worried if he isn't holding onto her shirt somehow. there are times where she'll just sit with him and scratch behind his ears, or she'll grab his hand and tug him along with her if she knows she's going somewhere—knowing that Josh has to be trailing behind her, or he'll get lost and spiral if she isn't back within ten twenty minutes. she's quiet when affection is initiated from either of them, and mostly sticks to her actions doing all the talking for her. if Josh starts to get insecure about his place in the relationship, she'll know before hand and talk to him about it—one of the rare times she's actually verbal during any sort of affection.
I saw Devon say this in a hc channel; but Haru is definitely the mom friend !! skddkjdj my brain is running at 999mph thinking about them forgive me
I'm gonna stop here because 🧍🏽who tfs gonna read this besides Devon I am RAMBLING (I still have lots to say too. a lot more 💔)

Ok so tell me why I felt a pang of homesickness when I saw those pics dvsjBDBSJX
That feels. So familliar. Like distantly.
I dont remember very much about our rink except what color it was when I saw it!! And it had the carpet you were talking about too- the concession places as well- and I think a small line of arcade machines. They were like. Older games different than what we had in the big arcade upstairs? If that makes sense
I think I was down there once but it had to be when I was still in one piece and brand new...which I dont have very clear memories from in the first place
My job was to deliver birthday cakes, so it wouldn't surprise me if I did that for a few parties down there. But like. I wasn't ever allowed there again after I was broken.
...I still snuck down there after hours when I made my nightly rounds though. Shh dont tell anyone cause it's a secret u_u
I always wanted to skate on the rink. I do know that. I liked to watch people glide around and have fun...and all the pretty lights...it felt like a whole different world from what was upstairs
SORRY for rambling I'm just. Screaming. I didn't think anybody else had a rink in their pizzeria and it rly makes me think yknow.
(Come with me out of the back room one night and we can sneak down to the rink,, Jeremy wont mind,,,I will win u some tickets and swipe you smth from the prize counter)
YES YES, I have a pinterest board for bon stuff, n most of those photos r at the top n they rly make me miss the pizzeria whn I look at them d:(- BUT YES! There was a small section of arcade cabinets- we had a much bigger selection of them upstairs- but there were a few down there for people who didn't want to skate!
I would love to skate with you- I don't think you have skates but I WILL help u try n get skates so we can zoom around the rink afterhours- d:] It was always rly fun down there- I dont know if it sounds selfish, but it was like I was the center of attention/main focus down there- It felt nice to be at the center of it all like Freddy was!!
(HJGFDSHG I dont know if my skates were there as my withered self, or if i still had em but maybe i can scoot around on the roller rink a bit- hopefully I don't fall over@!!!)

A real family (Pt 1)
Tumblr media
Summary: Robert Downey juniors teenage daughter lives with her mum, after her parents divorce. Robert doesn’t get any access to see her, and knows nothing about her life. After her abusive step dad goes to far and puts him in hospital, can Robert save her before
Basically I’m going to take on the evil step sister approach but make it male version. But whilst adding in physical abuse
Warnings: abuse, depression, hospitals.
“Y/N” your dad screamed from the kitchen. You couldn’t remember a time your dad hadn’t been screaming. Your house echoed so much you could have sworn that half of the bloody town could hear your mums shreak.
“I’m comming” you yell from your room. Big mistake. But it was to late now. You should have just kept your mouth shut, but then again, that outcome wouldn’t have been any better of an outcome.
You slowly make your way down the stairs into the kitchen where you see your two step brothers, and step father sitting around the kitchen table. You know sneaking in unnoticed isn’t an option so you except your defeat.
“What have I told you about yelling” says your stepfather in a sturn voice. You don’t reply, instead you keep your head down and look into your lap
“WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU” he screeches at you throwing his plate at your shoulder causing it to shatter and cut into your shoulder blade, making you wince
“Answer me you worthless piece of shit ” he screames at you and you can see your step brother preparing to throw their plates
“Not to do it” you mumble.
“ WHAT WAS THAT” he roared at you, slowly raising from the table, causing you to fall back off your stool and against a wall.
“Nothing sir, you told me not to do it” you say clearly with the small bit of confidence you have left. Suddenly a sharp object collides with your eye and you feel a stinging, painfully burning sensation. Your chew down in your lip to not make a scene.
“Was that talking back” you hear your oldest step brother say, whilst slowly decreasing to ground between you.
“ANSWER US” you hear your brother screech throughout the ringing in your ear.
“I’m sorry sirs, it won’t happen again” you say hiding your face in your hands.
Suddenly a foot collides with your tiny figure and you feel a snap, you know you’ve broken your second rib in a week, but there’s nothing you can do.
“I have heard that excuse far to much Y/N, I think you deserve a punishment” said your father breaking the ground between you and the group of towering men.
You wished that your mum was still alive. Maybe everything would be peaceful if your mum was still alive. If you hadn’t caused her death, as your father said.
“Please no” You beg, before you were sudenly shoved against a wall hearing even more bones crack.
“No more talking back” said your step dad dragging you by the hair up to stairs and into his bedroom door, locking it after being followed by your “brothers”. You closed your eyes as tight as you could, trying to ignore the horrendous pain that littered your body, and distract yourself from what you prayed would never come.
The screames of protest and pain that came next could have woken up the whole country if anyone listened hard enough, however living in a very remote part of the town meant no one could hear the cruel ness that your “family” was subjecting you to.
Xxxx
Robert was trying to sleep, he had to be up early for filming tomorrow, however there was something else on his mind. You. You were officially turning 16 tomorrow, and for a parent that is a very scary time, however this birthday was fillled with sadness and regret.
He had fought long and hard for custody over you for two years untill the court concluded that your mum could take better care of you. The last he ever saw of you was a seven year old little girl crying because she would never see her father again. Your mother would not let him ever speak to you, no matter how hard he tried, and he could not find you on any social media. He wished you were safe but something in his gut was telling him that something was wrong.
He couldn’t act on his feeling however as he was not granted any access to see you, therefor he would be breaking the law.
The last he remembered of you was your long ( hair colour) hair, and smiling face ripped away from him. He was sure you’d grown up by now and had changed physically greatly. However he wished you remembered him. He wished you and his current family could live together happily celebrating big milestones together.
“Can’t sleep” said a voice from behind him. Robert hadn’t noticed he’d moved from the inside of his trailer to the outside seating area.
“Umm, I’m just thinking” he said
“I’s this about Y/N ?” Said Chris Hemsworth taking a seat next to him.
“Yeah” said Robert sadly.
The entire avengers cast new about You. It had come out on a drunk night on the town, however no one had seen it effect him this much... ever.
“It’s her birthday tomorrow, her 16th” he said sadly.
“I’m sorry mate, I could never imagine not seeing one of my children, even living without them for that fact” said Chris trying to console your father to the best of his abilities.
“Something just isn’t sitting right with me, i know somethings wrong with her” said Robert.
“Have you tried getting custody again, even just visiting rights” asked Chris
“The case is to small, It’ll just be dismissed” said Robert sadly
“Keep your head up mate. Not long untill she leaves home , and then I’m sure she’ll want to meet her father” said Chris
“I guess your right” said your dad sighing in defeat”. However he still couldn’t shake the feeing something was wrong. He’d been feeling it a lot lately, and a fathers gut is never wrong
Xxxxx
“Y/N, pick up the pace” said your gym instructor. Of course today was the day you ran the mile. Every bone in your body was aching, and you were sure your body was running on adrenaline. You couldn’t get the disgusting feeling of betrail, and violation off you. You remembered every moment from the previous night, from the almost shattered shoulder bone, to the moment you were violated and entered. It made you want to cry however crying was a weakness. Crying was more reason for them to beat the emotion out of You.
You weren’t the slowest runner, actually you were quiet good, that’s why your gym teacher was so tough on you, she knew you had potential, if only she knew what was going on at home.
You finish the Lap slower than your usual time, however you could feel your body start to shut down.
“Everyone go get a drink.... Y/N not you, I wanna talk” said your coach watching everyone leave. You could see your vision start to loose focus, causing you to reach for your bottle, and chug half of it down.
“Honey, what’s going on. Your average is dropping, I’m getting worried”
You couldn’t reply, your ears started to ring, and your long sport top was causing you to sweat and fall of the seat, onto the floor, hitting your head. You could hear the distant ringing of your name however your to far gone. You feel your body start to go limp, and everything to go dark, you start to fade out of consciousness and the last thing you heard was screaming to call 911.
Xxxxxxxx
Robert had just finished filming and it was lunch time for the avengers crew. Almost all the crew members were there today, it was a big day for shooting and very busy, so getting to finally eat lunch was a blessing.
He took a seat around a table seating, Scarlett, Mark, Jeremy, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Tom hidleston. They were all in the middle of a conversation when they saw Him sit down.
“Hey, you doing alright” said scarlet dropping the previous discussion.
“Peachy” he replied taking a bite of a sandwich. He suddenly saw one of the producers running up to the table with a frantic look on him face holding the main phone.
“You need to answer this. It’s important”the feeling of dread once again sat in the bottom of his stomach. he instantly answered the phone, his face Pailing almost imidiately, causing the other members of the cast to drop their food and commence worry.
“ I’ll be there as soon as I can” said your dad hanging up the phone.
He looked towards the manager receiving a nod.
“Take all the time you need, we’ll rearrange the schedule, let us know how it goes” said the director taking back the phone.
Robert quickly took of from the set, already on the phone to his wife.
“Honey I’ve got to go to Arizona, Y/N’s in the hospital
Xxxxxxx
You could feel your head pounding. The beeping around you didn’t stop. The fact that you couldn’t move your body didn’t help much either. The black vision slowly started to become brighter causing you to squint your eyes in pain. A forced wince came out of your mouth. Slowly you opened your eyes and started to see the white hospital room around you.
You could see the countless wires connected to you and the beeping of the heart monitor, was ringing in your ears. You tried to sit yourself up but you found that your body was restricted, and you were struggling to sit up.
“That’s not going to work honey, you’ve cracked your ribs, and we can’t risk them breaking again” said the nurse walking in.
“Oh” you say in a quiet voice resting your head back on the pillow.
“How are you feeling honey” said the nurse bustling around the room.
“I’m fine”
“Sweetheart, I’ve had my fair share patients. And the lies I’ve heard... I can’t help you unless you tell me the truth” she said
You sigh and look down to your lap.
“Everything hurts” you say in a quiet voice, trying not to gain any attention
“I suspected, your not afraid of needles are you” asked the nurse kindly.
“Not really no” you say.
“Y/N, You have to be honest with me. I’m only trying to help you” said the nurse politely.
“Umm.. I haven’t had a needle since I was 7. I’d have no way of knowing” you say as honest as you could.
“It’ll just be a pinch, you’ll be fine”. Said the nurse.
Suddenly you feel a pinch in your arm. You’d been through much worse, this felt like nothing.
“All done” said the nurse putting a plaster on your arm.
“Can I ask you a question”
“Go ahead”
“What’s going to happen the them” you ask.
A small sigh left her lips. not knowing if you were ready for the news she hesitated...
“All three of them are missing. Found out you were in the hospital and did a runner. The police have locked down the surrounding boarders to try and find them” said the nurse.
You sighed and nodded your head.
“Why are they taking such large measures” you said.
“Y/N there’s some things you haven’t been told... how much to do you know about your father. Asked the nurse with a smile on her face.
“Mum never talked about him. I haven’t even heard him mentioned since I was seven. I didn’t think he’d want anything to do with me” you say slowly lowering your head towards your lap.
“I can assure you hon he wanted so much to have you in his life. He’s right outside that door and he wants to see his little girl”
“What do you mean” you asked.
Suddenly there was a nock on the door, and In walked another woman, in a very fancy dress suit
“Hello Y/N” said the lady taking a seat beside the white framed bed.
“What’s going on” you asked sinking deeper into the sheets of the knitted white sheets.
“ I have your father outside this door as I’m sure you’ve been told... and he’s very keen to meet you... how would you feel about meeting him”
You didn’t get to sat another word before a medium sized man walked into the room. You couldn’t believe your eyes... the world had to be playing tricks on you... there was no way.. no way at all.
“You have to be kidding me”
To be continued

Every Kdrama I’ve watched under the cut, to keep track and for recommendations.
Warning: Spoilers, few unpopular opinions ahead, please bear in mind: to each their own.
2009
·       You’re Beautiful – 16 amusing episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? This was the era of female leads pretending to be male (Hana Kimi, Ouran etc), but I still loved it. We follow the story of the female lead (who was a Nun at the beginning) who pretended to be her twin brother and become a part of the country’s current hottest band because her twin had a cosmetic surgery mishap (lol). It’s mostly trying to fit in and try not to get exposed but of course our male lead discovered her true identity thus begin her suffering and second also knows but did not admit it thus begin his unrequited love and comic relief and best character in the series was left in the dark thus begin questioning his sexuality 7/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? YES. Park Shin Hye is love and Jang Geun Seuk’s smile is freaking adorable. 9/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? JEREMY AND SHINWOO AND JOLIE YES. 10/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? MOST DEF. I fell in love with PSH’s “Lovely Day” and “ Without Words”, ANJELL’s “Still” and “Promise” though I prefer Lee Hong Ki’s version 8/10 o   Would you rewatch? I’ll definitely rewatch, I would love to compare my opinion back in my tween years and opinion now   o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: Episode 6 – Shin Woo and Mi Nam’s pseudo date (totally heartbreaking for tween me) Episode 11 – supermarket scene was the best, Episode 13 – Cooking scenes was hilarious, every scene with Jeremy, TAE KYUNG AND THE PIG o   Words Association: GO MI NAM, Pig-Rabbit, JOLIE!, Fly me to the moon, “hyung, vinegar?” o   Yes it has overused plots, common conflicts and family drama but the characters and their dynamics are truly worth watching this and if you need a good laugh (this drama has a looooot of funny scenes), this one is for you. 8/10
2011
·       Heartstrings – 15 forgotten episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? It’s a college drama involving modern and traditional Korean music. I honest to God forgot the whole drama, I think there was rivalry between the main leads? 6/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? Not sure, but if it’s Park Shin Hye, I guess so, sorry I’m shit at remembering this drama o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? I forgot so I guess not? o   Are the OSTs compelling? I am pretty sure it got an amazing Osts with having Park Shin Hye and CN Blue’s Yong Hwa but the only thing I remember was the song “Byeul” or Star and it was sung by the secondary character but it was really catchy o   Would you rewatch? Looks like I need to rewatch since I mostly forgot this drama o   Will rate once I have rewatched but if you shipped Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye’s characters in You’re Beautiful, this one is for you.
Then after years of Jdramas, Anime, Mangas, YA books I returned to Kdramaland in…
2018
·       Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo – 16 charming episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? College athletes’ coming of age drama, added a dash of love and friendship and dreams. Strong female lead and affectionate male lead, sign me the fuck up. 9/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? I AM EMOTIONALLY INVESTED WITH THE LEADS PERSONAL AND LOVE LIVES. YES. 10/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? YES EVEN THE CAMEOS (Hello Lee Jong Suk who I haven’t watched any of his drama yet at the time and Ji Soo) 10/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I downloaded 2 of their OSTs (You&I and Dreaming), it was the first Korean songs in my playlist 9/10 o   Would you rewatch? Absolutely o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: “BOK JOO, WATCH OUT!”, “YOU DIE, I WILL KILL YOU”, Snow kisses, the gang in the amusement park, THAT SCENE WITH JISOO AND JOO HYUK o   Word Association: SWAG, Messi, Chicken, Samgyupsal, WHAT, Chubs o   I totally recommend to everyone, it has a unique plot, still not over the main lead’s chemistry, you’ll fall in love with the whole story. 10/10
 ·       The Heirs – 20 clichéd episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? It’s your typical rich man poor woman plot, high school setting oozing with alpha males and lots of trope scenes, if only female lead was also an heir or they develop more on her character it will be memorable, I can’t really differentiate with other dramas with the same plot – well except the male lead’s mother is not your typical mother who absolutely hates the female lead 3/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? No, not really more on the secondary characters, both male and female leads are meh 2/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? With the mute mother and FL’s bestfriend and his girlfriend yes, everyone else is forgettable 3/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I only remember “Love is a moment” because it was used by fanmade crack videos on youtube ahahaha 2/10 o   Would you rewatch? Probably no. o   I guess if you are a big fan of Boys Over Flowers and looking for the same genre this one’s for you, this did not really age well for me, probably would have loved this if I watched back when I was in highschool – reminds me of wattpad days. 3/10
 ·       W: Two Worlds – 16 enthralling episodes (Started 2018 Finished 2020)
o   Is the plot interesting? The plot is what compelled me to watch this drama, male lead is a webtoon character created by the female lead but made famous by her father. Male lead does not have your best childhood experiences but became really successful as an adult but there are mysterious instances that put his life on danger, the female lead (doctor) was drawn in on the comic and saved his life, unknowingly her actions changed the course of the story and it reflected on the comic in the real world – this was truly a good concept 9/10 because I actually forgot I started this drama last 2018 then rewatched and finished this 2020, I am still confused. o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? THE CHEMISTRY WAS ON THE ROOF ON THIS ONE. I DIDN’T EVEN CARE ABOUT THE OTHER CHARACTERS 10/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? I was actually more focused on the main leads, did not exactly give much attention to other characters 3/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I only liked “Where are you” but it was sung by that guy who was jailed among other things so I don’t know how I feel now. Still the opening was lit o   Would you rewatch? Yes, I will try to fully understand what the mechanics or rules of being a webtoon character and being alive in the real world o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: KISS IN THE JAIL was the first thing that came to my mind, also real life scenes to comic scenes and vice versa- kudos to the artists, slap and kiss scene, the flashing scene, 4 romantic concepts scene, the adorable scenes recreating the illustration book, the transition when yeon Joo dropped her ring, the hospital bed scene o   Words Association: #4, handcuffs, all the winks, sudden “saranghaeyo”, ring, bus stop, “to be continued” o   This drama was amazing for the first 10 episodes then became complicated after, I loved the chemistry between the 2 main leads but unfortunately overpowered the whole story – don’t get me wrong I love love stories, but my reaction was the same as those who read the comics – too much cutesy stuff they forgot the storyline, I wanted them to explore the W show, but they focused on filling the plothole for the murderer which created more conflicts and confusing scenes. The line between the comic and real word created plot devices and more questions. This drama has flaws but cool premise though, I hate amnesia plot on any drama but it was well incorporated on this one. 8/10
·       Goblin – 16 amazing Episodes (Finished, rewatched 2020)
o   Is the plot interesting? A general in Goryeo dynasty got punished by the Gods to be immortal and his sword still in his chest only the Goblin bride can take it off so he can be at peace and die. Immortal lead with a side of grim reaper as best friend, charming female lead with a confident female boss – a story with reincarnation and ghosts, scenes that will tug your heart – yes, one of Kdrama Masterpiece 10/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? At first no no with the age gap but yes, I say while crying o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? HELL TO THE YES, DEOK HWA, GRAMPS, SECRETARY KIM, HELLO CUTIE TAE HEE, SUNNY AND GRIM REAPER 10/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL OSTS, particularly “Round and Round”, “I Miss You”, “Stay with Me” and even without lyrics I still worship “When the time stops” aka the music that speaks to your soul 10/10 o   Would you rewatch? YES ALREADY DID BRUH WILL DO AGAIN o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: Every bromance scene, I got hooked by the scene in the first ep where Eun Tak celebrated her birthday with her ghost mother, epic goblin and grim reaper modelling in the highway, everytime sunny flips her hair, grim reaper and his guests in the tea shop o   Word Association: Canada, sad love, candles, rain, chicken, tea, car crash *sorry not sorry* o   Totally recommended, well-deserved on its popularity. Will make you laugh and cry, at the same time. Acting skillz man. 10/10
 ·       Strong Woman Do Bong Soon – 16 whacky episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? Female lead has super strength which was actually passed down to every woman born in her family, she wants to be a game developer but instead got hired as bodyguard of our male lead who is a ceo of a gaming company 8/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? I remember that I did, I was? I need to rewatch haha o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? I remembered I did not like Ji soo’s character and don’t really remember other characters… o   Are the OSTs compelling? Can’t quite remember so I need to - o   Would you rewatch? Yeahp, will do o   I’ll do a rewatch before rating
I had a watch list back in 2018, but then I became busy with work and life until…
2020 (Details will be more longer since every Kdrama is still fresh on my mind)
·       My ID is Gangnam Beauty – 16 pretty episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? Basically, female lead deems herself ugly and undergone a plastic surgery to fully change her face before attending the university – but a popular guy back in highschool (junior high?) was also attending the same uni and recognized her – it’s a mellow sort of drama tackling Korean beauty and it’s extent, still cute story tho 7/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? We must protect Mi-rae at all cost, Cha Eun Woo’s character is a little bit emotionally constipated but Eun Woo is *swoon* 8/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? I am all for Mi-rae’s family and childhood friend, Kyung Seok’s sister, Yoo eun was very notable as well, I love how her character is completely fair and understanding 7/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? “D-day” and “True” is a bop to listen to, everytime I hear “Something” all I remember is Cha Eun Woo’s slow mo glance, other OST is a bop but not enough for me to put on my playlist 6/10 o   Would you rewatch? Probably but not right now o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: New face dance, bathroom scene with Kyung Seok beating the shit out of their senior, whenever Kyung Seok is annoyed with Soo-A but total heart eyes mode with Mi Rae, Cinema pseudo date – eating popcorn using straws, when he changed the color of his hair, Kyung Seok’s ID when he was a waiter, their high school date, and that last sweet scene in the final episode o   Word Association: gangnam, perfume, plastic, umbrella, soju o   I wasn’t planning on watching kdramas again after a long time but this quarantine just makes you do things and no regrets at all, MIIGB probably isn’t the best of the best but it definitely made me want to watch more kdramas and lo and behold more kdramas watched in a span of 2 months than in a year back in 2018. I love how it tackles on true beauty and female oppression and how idiotic alpha male trope is 7/10
 ·       While You Were Sleeping – 16 not enough episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? A prosecutor, a reporter and a cop can see the future when they sleep, which helps them in solving cases and do their best to change it. Every case is fascinating makes you say “ohhhhh” when they present their defense and I am like *chef kiss* I love the premise and the supernatural part of the story. 10/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? YES. JAE CHAN AND HONG JOO ARE ADORKABLE AND HAS INSANE VISUALS  10/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? HAVE YOU MET JUNG HAE IN, THE PROSECUTOR TEAM WAS THE BEST. YES. EVEN THE SIDE CHARACTERS ON CASES AND THE VILLAINS 10/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I usually don’t hear the OSTs while focusing on a scene but boy oh boy, OSTs stole everything, I am obsessed with the whole album. The melody and tune is very captivating everytime you hear it you just want to embed it on your brain. If you are still having second thoughts watching this drama, listen to it’s OSTs the feels they give is the same feels when you watch 1000/10 o   Would you rewatch? I’ve watched it again after finishing it so yes, 100% yes, need more episodes still having withdrawal syndrome, still watching fanmade videos on youtube o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: Every episode lol, the opening sequence, the outro scenes in episode 2 and 3 (with that background music), everytime “It’s you”, “You belong to my world”, “When night falls” and “I love you boy” is the bg music, every Jae Chan and Hong Joo parallel (Episode 2 and 16 particularly), OT3 scenes, the shadow picture, KISS IN THE RAIN, IN THE SAKURA TREE AND THE ALMOST KISS IN THE CAR if I list down all of my fave, I will be writing the whole summary of each episode. Hmmm. o   Words Association: Snow hug, sakura kiss, batman and robin, scarf, JUST ICE, choir, seatbelt, samgyupsal, femme fatale, lip balm o   I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. ULTIMATE FAVE. I AM BIASED SHUTTUP. JUST WATCH. NONE CAN COMPARE. NUFF SAID. 100000/10 SOMEONE FANGIRL WITH ME
 ·       Pinocchio – 20 important episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? This whole drama is about mass media and its major influence on anyone’s life and it is so powerful. We have a male lead whose family has experienced the impact of misguided news and it is painful to watch because this really happens irl at worse, this is due to a reporter which is our female lead’s mother. Now our female lead has Pinocchio Syndrome hence the drama title, she can’t help but hiccup when she lies, it’s very interesting to know why both leads wanted to be a reporter given their situation 10/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? YES, I JUST WANNA HUG THEM. Imagine having a condition that forces you to tell the truth, you can’t keep your feelings, privacy or secrets at all and to add an indifferent mother who did not care for your dreams but more on publicity. Imagine having a dream and working hard to reach it but after college you fail every job interview and it’s so realistic I just ashfdsjfha (Except the Pinocchio syndrome part but come on) Imagine experiencing a childhood where you don’t know what happened to your firefighter father, is the news about him running away true because it was his fault all those other firefighters are dead? Imagine your brother doing his best to hold your family together because your mother is on the verge of nervous breakdown to the point of pushing her to choose death, pulling you to a hug and just jump? Imagine this male lead fighting every chance to not love this girl who is the daughter of the reason why his family is gone now and could not leave her because she is also the reason why he decided to fight for the injustice done to his family and to others victims of fake news and they are so supportive of each other. It freaking hurts and I’m sorry I just have a lot of emotions for these two 1000000/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? YEEEEES, GRANDPA AND FATHER, I LOVE THEIR FAMILY DYNAMICS SO MUCH WHEN GRANDPA CRIED I CRIED! EVEN JA MYUNG HYUNG who has not enough episode in THEY DESERVE TO BE TOGETHER NOT JUST FOR ONE EPISODE. EVEN BEOM JU, YOO RAE, NITPICKER JANG, CAPTAIN, BOTH CAPTAINS ACTUALLY, CHAN SOO AND HIS FAMILY EVEN I LOVE TO HATE THE VILLAINS 100/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I was too focused on the intensity of the story but I do love the bg music –“First Love”, “The Only Person”, “Pinocchio” are few notable OSTs 8/10 o   Would you rewatch? YES FREAKING YES, I REWATCHED AFTER WATCHING IT o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: Episode 16 as a whole, because main lead conflict with each other was resolved and that dinner scene is one I always rewatch, of course episode 1 introduction for Dal Po is freaking hilarious, Episode 2’s “Because I like you” damn feels, snow kiss, all the grandpa scenes and brother scenes, that scene when In ha remembered being drunk, that scene where Dal Po meets his brother again and I just ahjasgdjhsdgf, the intense debate and paralleling it in the seminar, the Christmas episode pyung pyung pyung my heart huhu o   Word Association: Six Degrees Separation, rumor, button, MSC/YGN News, traffic cones, hiccups, piggy banks, text messages, family o   EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH THIS. I LOVE EVERY PART. IT WAS ON MY WATCHLIST LAST 2018 WHY DID I NOT WATCHED IT THEN. THE ACTING THOUGH YOU JUST FEEL THEIR INTENSE EMOTIONS THROUGH THE SCREEN. FEELS EVERYWHERE. 100000/10
 ·       Romance Is A Bonus Book – 16 heartwarming episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? It’s about romance and books! Lee Jong Suk is on it what more can you ask for? Kidding aside it tells a story of a 30 something mother who to go back to work after 12 years which left a huge gap on her resume, she also got recently divorced and experiencing the repercussion of that, all of the job she applied for has focused on her work gap instead of her skills (which by the way as an HR a very hard truth). She applied as a support role on a publishing company and got hired but by omitting a lot of things on her resume. Oh and her childhood friend, our male lead is actually a co-owner and editor of the company. And he is also in love with her since high school. 9/10 but the fluffiness of the whole series is worth 10/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? YES, Dan-I is totally relatable and Eun Ho is lovable. I love their relationship so much they are each other’s home. 10/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? With Hae-rin (COME OOON UNREQUITED LOVE AGAIN WITH LJS CHARACTER?), Seo Joon, President Kim, Manager Seo, and our very own Gangnam Leopard YES. Others not so much. 8/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? The OSTs are feel good, the kind of playlist you want to hear when you read or travelling, point to “Rainbow”, “Walking on Sunshine”, “Happy End”also the heart churning feels when “You’re Beautiful” and “ A Story I couldn’t see” begins playing in the bg 10/10 o   Would you rewatch? YES over and over and over again o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: The first episode with the wedding visuals, so aesthetic with the running in the highway, the power dance was so out of place but it was adorable, the scene where Dan-I reminisce her married life and it just breaks your heart, the essay part of her application is just motivating and sad, WHEN EUN HO WAS DRUNK AND WENT TO DAN-I’s PLACE BECAUSE HE ALWAYS GO THERE WHEN HE MISSES HER AND I JUST AHGSHJAGDKJGHJ, “If that’s love, I love her then”, GANGNAM LEOPARD CLUB SCENE, the subtle Snow confession (what’s with LJS and Snow???) the long brown overcoats comes out I’m there, when Eun Ho rejected Hae Rin so nicely I cry, movie date, the day Dan-I and Eun Ho spent together at their house, all the book pages at the end of each episode o   Words Association: THE MOON IS BEAUTIFUL, noona, power pose, love letters, books, seasons change, cucumber allergy, April 23 o   This drama is literally a warm blanket on a rainy day. Recommended if you want a pure love story with almost no conflict and mellow storyline – just the thought of finding love and home in the same person is truly heartwarming. For aspiring writers and book lovers! Love the quotable quotes in it and the warm feels it gives 10/10
 ·       Extraordinary You – 16 extraordinary episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? We follow the story of the extras in a comic book. Get it? EXTRAordinary you, haha okaaaay, anyway, its fictional characters becoming aware that they are fictional characters and trying to change their fates, having a life of their own outside the “stage” and all around creating chaos – breaking the 4th wall if you will. We have your cliché high school filled with rich kids and an elite group called A3 (which was funny bc it was almost mocking F4), then we have the female lead who thought she was the main character of the story but was only the love bridge extra for the main characters. And our beautiful male lead who does not even have a name. Very attention-grabbing 10/10 also just found out the drama was based on a webtoon, so it’s a webtoon inside a webtoon nice. o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? Dan-Oh is a fun character to watch, her range of emotions and the way she acts in and out of the stage deserves a standing ovation, I don’t mind Ro Woon’s visual too haha 9/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? Yes to Lee Do Hwa (Because violin playing cutiepie), Joo Da (girl became aware and finally got claws at the end) and Dried Squid Fairy and Su Hyang (because their history is interesting) , not really into Bae Kyung or Nam Joo (who was 2dimensional character until the end) 8/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I loved all the instrumental background music especially “Highschool Runway”, Also “My Beauty” which was very kdrama-esque ending song 7/10 o   Would you rewatch? BIG YES o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: Every Dan-Oh and Do Hwa’s internal monologue and their bromance, every time Dan Oh breaks character but the page flips, every time she curse and criticize the writer, checking the male population’s back, when Dan-oh opened the umbrella and we got to see Haru’s face *dokidoki*, every reaction when they transition from stage to shadow, I mean kudos to Kim Hye Yoon’s acting from crying to laughing then from head over heels over Bae Kyung then cringing at herself , “It’s Bae Kyung Time”, the scene where Haru and Dan-oh was holding hands and here comes third wheel Do Hwa the way they reacted with Dan Oh’s “Annyeong Lee Do Hwa” made me rofl o   Word Association: AYUUU JINJJA, HARUYAAAAA, stage, shadow, page flips, October 10, secret, flower o   I love the concept and how it felt like writing fanfiction, you put your favorite characters in alternative universes or different setting and watch them fall in love all over again – in this case destiny also plays a huge part since the writer continuously separate them but they still fall in love with each other outside the stage. It’s fun to see the other side or the fillers whenever characters are not on acting on stage, they have more character depth and development. I definitely love the Sageuk and College AU part. 9/10
 ·       Graceful Family – 16 wild episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? It’s a drama full of Makjang so we are riding on a rollercoaster ride, I am here for all of it gimme gimme that outrageous plot with a dash of crazy family on the side and a group of people who cleans up their messes 9/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? SEOK HEE IS THE BEST FEMALE LEAD YET FREAKING BADASS BITCH QUEEN. Yoon Do is okay but really overpowered by Seok Hee’s strong personality 10/10 for Seok Hee o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? I am very interested in Ms. Han and the Top Team’s deal unfortunately it was not addressed further in the series, wouldn/t mind a mini sequel with them as the main characters, Choi Na Ri and Seo Jin is loooove, and I love Wan Soo with all my heart even after everything that happened 9/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? “Liar” is on my playlist solely for me to feel as badass as Seok Hee and “Black Diamond” because it plays with your emotions 8/10 o   Would you rewatch? Solely for all the WTF moments o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: ALL THE DINING TABLE SCENES, opening scene in the first episode got me hooked, all Seok Hee scenes made me stay, Wan Soo’s hilarious scenes, that whole hanbok shop scene, whole jail fiasco, when Seok Hee fights head to head with TOP management, PICASSO’S FUNERAL SCENE, Episode 9 when Choi Na Ri moved in, episode 15’s biggest plot twist, Episode 16 and it’s whole 1 hour and 45 minutes of drama o   Word Association: Home sweet home, Cannes, Picasso, power vacuum, kingmaker, Auntie o   It has a lot of flaws, plotholes and characters you wished was fleshed out but man what an exhilarating ride it was. I love all the dirty secrets in the closets and plot twists (won’t spoil just watch it!) but Seok Hee is definitely the show stealer for me. Soo Hyang’s character here is starkly different with her character in My ID is Gangnam Beauty and it’s really amazing. 9/10
 ·       Hi, Bye Mama – 16 heartbreaking episodes (Finished)
o   Is the plot interesting? This is all about mother’s love and the life she left behind. Our female lead died in an accident and has been a ghost for five years watching over her family especially her daughter, she watched how her family moved on – her husband remarried and her daughter grew up with a different mother. The Gods has given her a chance to live again if she gets back her place within 49 days – this means she get the chance to become human again and finally meet her daughter. 9/10 o   Am I emotionally invested on the Main Leads? I AM EMOTIONALLY INVESTED IN ALL OF THEM. 10/10 o   Did I grew attached to the secondary characters? SEO WOO YAAAAAA, Min Jung, her whole family and best friends even the other ghosts and their painful stories YES. 10/10 o   Are the OSTs compelling? I was busy crying and could not really hear the bg music because all I hear is my heart breaking a million times. But “Happy” made me happy and sad at the same time and the haunting “Same Town, New Story” instrumental is love o   Would you rewatch? I am not sure if I’m ready to cry again o   Favorite Episode/Scenes: whole episode 8 is where I broke down crying – I know this whole series is about mother’s and their unconditional love but episode 8 showed fathers and their incomparable love to their daughters and I just asjhdajksd the epilogue in this episode just made me cry nonstop – I am actually crying just remembering that scene, every epilogue will make you ugly cry, every time Seo Woo smiles, Episode 11 and that epic showdown in Kid’s café, when Yu Ri became human again and how happy she was she can hold Seo Woo, every scene with her and Seo Woo bonding, Gang Hwa and the egg,  the list of things she wants to do, when Seo Woo finally called her MAMA o   Words Association: mother, stepmom, ghosts,  “I am happy”, shaman, egg, 49 days o   I am emotionally exhausted watching this show, I cried on every episode, this definitely hurt me in every way possible. Highly recommended if you want a good long nonstop cry 10/10
Dramas I did not completely watched sans a few episodes, finished by skipping scenes or reading drama reviews. Warning: total unpopular opinions
2009
·       Boys Over Flowers – we all know Hana Yori Dango is superior, I just got bored of recycled scenes and I really don’t like LMH here, sorry
2018
·       Scarlet Heart Ryeo - Plot is very interesting but Sageuk dramas are not my cup of tea, reminds me of Fushigi Yuugi which I hated when I was a kid dunno why haha, will look for my motivation to watch the whole drama ·       Oh My Ghostess – got spoiled, skipped and just read episode summary
2020
·       Hello Monster – did not even finish 1st episode, skipped through episode 2 -3, too many plot holes, just read last episode spoilers ·       Hotel De Luna – finished 7 episodes got distracted by work and life. Plotline is interesting and characters look promising, will rewatch but I already know the spoilers and ending ·       School 2013 – just read the dramabeans episode reviews, may watch but reminds me of Gokusen concept (which I do love but very repetitive) so may not ·       Suspicious Partner – I liked the plot but unfortunately did not care too much on the main mystery of the whole show which was who the actual murderer is, did not like the shared childhood trauma, but acting still was good, its just the storyline ·       Doctor Stranger – I seriously would have loved to finish this because LJS’s acting skills on point (how can he be that seriously angry in North Korea then be clumsy adorkable in South? Howww) but alas, the female lead storyline is cringy I stopped at episode 6, read reviews and it would have been 20 wasted episodes for me ·       What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim – full of stereotypical tropes I could not finish, too romcom for me and could not invest too much about their history
Watchlist (2020)
·       Hospital Playlist ·       Crash Landing On You ·       Kill Me, Heal Me ·       I Am Not A Robot ·       Sky Castle ·      Love Alarm
Hit me up with your recommendations, better yet your favorite kdrama and reasons why it’s your fave!

//klaroline au week// - day 6: canon-ish
This definitely requires the ‘ish’ after ‘canon-ish’. It takes place right after the sacrifice at the end of season 2. Caroline dies as the vampire sacrifice, Klaus is successfully killed, and Bonnie uses her power to resurrect Caroline. Similar to how she brings Jeremy back. What will the aftermath of this sacrifice be?
///
“Caroline…”
“Caroline?”
“Caroline!”
Caroline woke with a start, disorientated. She felt the phantom racing of her heart, even if only as a feeling of the past.
She took deep, calming breaths, attempting to centre herself after her abrupt rouse from slumber.
She was different, in the months since the sacrifice. It wasn’t good different, or even bad different, necessarily. It was just different.
Of course, as Bonnie had said, Caroline’s experience with the sacrifice was possibly unique.
“Caroline, you’ve died and come back in some form twice now,” Bonnie said to her, months ago, just before the witch left for a summer away from the supernatural life in Mystic Falls. “You died your human death, then the vampire magic brought you back. Then when Klaus killed you in the sacrifice, you died a vampire’s death, and my magic brought you back. There is no blueprint for what that kind of magic will do to a being.”
Bonnie’s words of course, rang true with Caroline. All actions had consequences, after all.
And, little by little, Caroline started to notice things. Different experiences that were inexplicable, but tangible.
The first instance had been quite innocuous, really. She was alone in the middle of the woods, and suddenly she felt a presence, like there was someone there, but just beyond her field of vision at every point.
This happened for a week or so, and from there, she began feeling… energies. It was similar to the first occurrence in the woods, except each presence emanated different vibes. Like the subtle differences in wine flavours. A chardonnay and a moscato were both white wines, but they still were very different.
She just began trying to distinguish different features of each energy, jotting down her experiences, but then then the dreams started.
A few times a week she would wake suddenly, after a fitful night of amber coloured, feral eyes, and someone whispering ‘Caroline’ intermittently over hours.
When the dreams began, she stopped feeling the energies. It was a relief of sorts; she didn’t have to be on guard every waking hour. But after weeks of poor sleep, she thought she would readily trade her restless nights, with peculiar days.
It was all quite off putting, but she made the conscious decision to deal with it on her own for the time being. No one was getting hurt, and she was just a little uncomfortable from time to time. Also, she had no idea how to even broach the topic if she wanted to anyway.
Besides, there was so much else going on that rendered her discomfort quite the back burner issue in the goings on of Mystic Falls.
There was her friendship with Tyler, that was growing stronger by the day. There was Matt, who was still pointedly ignoring her at every chance she got. There was her mother who was just getting her head around her daughter the vampire, Caroline wasn’t going to pile any more weird unknown supernatural things onto their relationship just yet.
Then there was the kicker.
Stefan was still missing.
In the crazy aftermath of the sacrifice, Caroline was still a little fuzzy on how it all played out. But she had been provided all important notes.
After Caroline was sacrificed, Klaus swiftly moved on to Elena. From there, his werewolf transformation began. This was where Bonnie came in, channeling the incredible power of the full moon, the sacrifices, and the ancestral witches, Bonnie brought Klaus to the brink of death. While Klaus fought against Bonnie’s onslaught and for his life, as defenseless as he had ever been, Elijah delivered the final blow, ripping Klaus’ heart from his chest.
Whenever Caroline thought about what transpired while she was dead, she couldn’t help but feel terribly sad for Klaus. What a betrayal, and what a gruesome way to die. She knew she was supposed to hate Klaus, but she wouldn’t have wished that death on anyone, not even Klaus.
Caroline was told it all happened very quickly after Klaus died. Bonnie, suddenly able to channel the power of the death of a Hybrid as well, turned her grief of losing her two best friends, to resurrecting them. Having already weaved a spell to protect Elena with John Gilbert, Bonnie let her magic flow completely into Caroline.
Caroline remembered that bit, or at least, she remembered taking a sudden gasping breath after an oppressive nothingness. Immediately following Caroline’s return, a new figure appeared on the seen, an irate and distraught blonde woman. They since discovered the woman was Rebekah Mikaelson, Klaus and Elijah’s only sister. She knocked Elijah away from Klaus’ desiccating body and the they began to fight him. It was a battle unlike Caroline had ever seen, two exceptionally powerful beings at total war with each other.
At some point or other, Rebekah noticed Stefan who was skirting around the furore, in a vain attempt to get to Elena’s corpse. For some reason this caught Rebekah’s attention, and before anyone could do anything else she snapped Elijah’s neck, then Stefan’s. And the she was off with the limp bodies of her two brothers, and with Stefan’s.
And none of them had seen any of them since.
They had managed glean a vague idea of what Rebekah and Stefan were up to, thanks to Caroline and her mom using resources at the Sheriff’s department to track their movements throughout the summer. Though, every lead that was passed onto Damon seemed to run cold.
Apparently, Rebekah was traipsing across the entire country, searching for something. They just hadn’t figured out what yet. And for whatever reason, Stefan was with her, and he was staying with her, and they hadn’t figured out why that was either.
As for Elijah, that was another thing they didn’t know. They assumed Rebekah had a dagger of her own she made use of, though no one could know for sure. And because of this, Caroline felt slightly uneasy knowing he could be back at any minute.
So here Caroline was, an entire summer later, with things just settling down, she didn’t want to put more supernatural drama onto anyone. She could deal with the spine tingles, fear, and few nights a week of restless sleep, if it meant her friends were better off.
Though as she lay in her bed that morning, Caroline resolved to talk to Bonnie if it got worse. That way there would actually be cause for concern.
Throwing off her bed covers, Caroline dressed with faux-excitement – fake it til you make it right? Because today was Elena’s 18th birthday.
And no matter how mopey Elena had been over Stefan’s disappearance, no matter how messed up everyone was feeling, tonight would be a party to remember if Caroline had anything to say about it.
//
“Hey!” Caroline beamed, as she sat beside Tyler at the Grill.
“Hey, Care,” he replied. “How’s it going?”
She was poised to answer, when that feeling of being watched tingled through her, and she heard a voice whisper her name.
She whipped around, attempting to find the owner of the voice. But there was no one. Plus, it sounded inexplicably like the same voice who whispered to her in her dreams.
Now this was a development. She had never heard that voice during the day before.
“You okay?” Tyler asked. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
Caroline thought about confiding in Tyler. If anyone could handle it, surely it was him? But what would she say? Something happened to me when I died and came back for the second time, so now I feel enigmatic energies, have nightmares, oh and hear voices now too apparently.
“Yeah, I’m okay, I guess I didn’t sleep well last night.”
//
“You’ve outdone yourself, as usual Caroline!”
It was later that day, and the compliment came from Jenna, who was coming down the stairs with Ric, about an hour after the party began.
“Yeah, really Caroline, why anyone else tries to throw events, I have no idea,” Ric added.
Caroline smiled at the two lovers. After all the bad stuff that happened to them over the past few months, it was nice having Jenna in the loop, and nice to see a bit of normalcy from the young couple.
“Don’t have too much fun!” Caroline said. “You are the chaperones, remember.”
As the two adults laughed and walked away, Caroline tried to pretend she was having a good time, tried beaming around at all her hard work paying off.
But she couldn’t.
On top of all Caroline’s other issues, Elena was still mopey, Matt was simultaneously drunk and high, and was still managing to ignore her as loudly as he could. And then there was Tyler.
Now, logically, Caroline knew she had little claim to Tyler. After their kiss months earlier, she turned him down, she said no.
But, boy, he was grinding all over slutty Sophie, and, god, it was grinding her gears.
How dare he. Seriously.
“Hey, great party, Caroline,” Sophie said, as she and Tyler left the mosh pit.
“Thanks!” Caroline said, the word dripping with insincerity. “Now leave it.”
Sophie obliged with a pleasant smile, and not a word. Of course she would, compulsion will do that to a person.
“What the hell?” Tyler said, indignantly.
Caroline just rolled her eyes, and brushed past him.
As she melted into the crowd, she stopped dead in her tracks.
Mixed in amongst the faces of her drunk class mates was a face that couldn’t be there.
It was lit with a smug smirk, and there was a calculating glint in his eye.
“Klaus?” Caroline said, weakly.
He flicked his eyebrows at her, but at that moment, one of her class mates bumped her, breaking her concentration, and when her head shot back to where Klaus was standing, he was gone.
Rattled, she decided she needed a real drink. Surely some O+ would settle her nerves.
//
“What’s your problem? You pissed that I brought someone?”
It was half an hour later, when Caroline made it down the stairs after her blood-bag pit stop, and Tyler was already in her face.
Could she not catch a break today?
“Why would I be pissed?” she answered, petulantly. “You brought a date, you’re dating! That’s awesome.”
She stalked away from him, she had bigger fish to fry that evening, like getting so wasted she could forget she was seeing faces in crowds.
It was useless, however, as Tyler just followed her and said, “should I not be dating?”
“Hey, you’re horny all the time, right?” she shot back. “I mean a guy has needs!”
“He sure does, sweetheart.”
“What did you say?” she snapped, as for the second time that day she spun around, trying and failing to find the face of someone whispering in her ear.
Caroline’s skin was crawling. She knew it wasn’t Tyler who said it, and she knew the voice didn’t come from one of her class mates. But she shuddered to think that maybe the voice from her dreams, and the voice that had been following her all day, belonged to the same dead man who mysteriously appeared in a crowd of drunk teenagers only thirty minutes earlier.
“I didn’t say anything,” Tyler pouted, sulking at Caroline’s harsh tone. “What’s the matter with you?”
Caroline scrambled to find the best way to dodge his question.
And, maybe it was because she was drunk, or maybe she just wanted to shut him up, or maybe she was just so on edge about her rapidly deteriorating grip on reality, but she grabbed Tyler by the lapels and kissed him.
They kissed ferociously for a few moments before Tyler pulled away.
“Let’s get out of here?” he asked, panting his way through the words.
“Uh uh.”
//
Much much later, Caroline found herself tiptoeing as quietly as possible out of the Lockwood Mansion.
Sex may have been great, and an excellent distraction, and she may truly have some sort of feelings for Tyler – maybe. But that still didn’t make up for the fact that when she drifted off for some post-coital sleep she fell straight back into her nightmare.
A voice, endlessly calling to her, reeling her in. And the eyes, those amber eyes, suddenly had a face to go with them.
His face.
Klaus.
So, when Caroline woke with a start, as was inevitable, she silently donned her dress, and slipped from the room.
There was nothing else for it, she would have to talk to Bonnie. If Klaus was somehow haunting her, or whatever, having a well-informed witch on her side would be only an advantage.
Caroline was just about to reach the front door, when none other than Carol Lockwood appeared, looking ever so judgemental. Curse her bad luck!
“Mrs Lockwood! Hi,” Caroline said, as innocently as possible.
“Leaving so soon?” the older woman asked, pointedly.
“Ah, I didn’t mean to be so… I mean, we were just….” Caroline floundered, her ears still ringing with Klaus’ whispers. “I’m gonna get my purse.”
She reached for her little silver bag, and as she touched it her hand began to burn. Before she could turn around, pain exploded through her back, quickly permeating her body, as Carol shot her full of vervain.
Caroline quickly lost consciousness, and she saw Carol’s concerned but determined face loom over her – and in Caroline’s last moments before the darkness claimed her, she was sure she saw the grinning face of Klaus waving at her over Carol’s shoulder.

Hope you liked! Not a hell of a lot of KC for KC AU week, but the things we do for the sake of exposition. The aim is for this to be a multi-chapter story??? Let me know if you’re interested. If I can actually keep writing with the vim I have been this week, this will hopefully end up being a bit of a season 3/4 TVD and 1 TO rewrite. I have a semblance of an outline, and a few chapters in the bank, but who knows with me. I’m really great at starting stories and not finishing them. Once I can figure out a name, I will post it to the places. No beta though, as per, and I hate editing so soz for mistakes.
See you tomorrow for the final day!! I’ve been loving reading all the things from the other days!!! And I’m sad I never got my stories finished for Tues/Thurs/Fri so I could participate more!! <3 <3

More Light Than Heat, Chapter 8
Last Week Was Complicated

masterpost
Phineas couldn't sleep Saturday night, but then again, he usually had trouble sleeping.  By Sunday morning, he decided that he was overthinking everything - also not unusual for him - and his reaction to Django was nothing to worry about.  Django hadn't been part of their core group, the ones who had only grown closer as they got older, but he had been a good friend to him when they were kids.  Wanting to rekindle that wasn't the same thing as an attraction.
By Monday, he'd pushed it completely out of his mind and was happily spending the evening in the backyard with Ferb.  Candace had given them a new scrapbook to work with, and the moving sculpture was really coming together.
"We should show Isabella," he said to his brother.  "It was her idea after all."
"You should," Ferb agreed.  "I'll probably turn in early."
Being only eight, it was certainly odd of him.  He could have chalked it up to a headache or Ferb needing some alone time if it weren't for Isabella on Tuesday.
"I was talking to Ferb and-"
"Did Candace say when Jeremy was going to be able to come home?  He's stuck with work stuff, right?"
"Umm...next week, I think.  She wants their first dance to be choreographed, so Ferb-"
"That reminds me: I've been texting Django since Saturday.  Should we invite him to your birthday party?"
He took a deep breath, trying to stave off the panic that hit him like a waterfall.  It cascaded as he started trying to determine why that sounded like such a bad idea.  He opened his mouth to say something to Isabella, some word vomit that may or may not help him process, but stopped, tilting his head.  Weren't they talking about something else?
He didn't remember it until he was sitting on the couch with Ferb the next day.  They were talking about end-of-summer plans, if they could throw a party or if that would compete too much with Candace's wedding, when he blurted it out without any preamble.
"Ferb, what's going on with you and Isabella?"
There was a pause, a pregnant silence in which Phineas wondered if he was reading too much into things.  But then it was over and Ferb, in a tone that was entirely too measured, said, "What do you mean?"
Phineas wasn't bad at a lot of things, reading body language and social cues being among the few exceptions.  If it were anyone else, that simple question would have confirmed that he was incorrect and he'd done a bad thing and pushed a boundary better left alone.
But this was Ferb.  He wasn't confused, he was guarded.  With Phineas.  About Isabella.
Something was very, very wrong.
The family dinner Thursday wasn't Phineas's idea, but if it was going to happen anyway, he intended to take full advantage.  He sat in Candace's usual seat, a calculated move to leave Ferb and Isabella with limited options that all resulted in them next to each other.  But Candace ended up between them anyway.
With the plates cleared away and the family filing out and into the living room, Candace jerked Phineas's arm to pull him back next to her.
"What is up with those two?"
He shrugged.  She rolled her eyes.
"If you don't want to tell me-"
"No, I really don't know.  Neither of them has said anything to me.  I'm just glad you see it too."
Candace scowled, her hands on her hips.  "Ugh.  They better get it sorted out before my wedding.  I will not deal with this kind of awkwardness."
"Your wedding?  If they don't figure it out before my party tomorrow, I'll..."
She smirked knowingly.  "You'll what?"
He sighed.  "Probably nothing.  But I hate this."
"I know."
Phineas wasn't sure if Isabella had intended to and changed her mind because of his reaction, or if she had just been teasing him and he'd been too distracted to realize it, but she did not invite Django to his party Friday night.  For something he hadn't wanted, he felt oddly disappointed, but he decided that was a concern for future Phineas.  Current Phineas was too busy watching his friends and trying to put his finger on the problem.
If he didn't know them better, he might have thought they were back to normal.  When the girls led games, they joined in enthusiastically, and Isabella laughed her normal laugh when Buford fell for one of Ferb's fake facts.
But the moment they weren't insulated by the veneer of a group interaction, they bounced apart like two magnets with the negative ends forced together.  If there'd been any alcohol, and if he was inclined to that sort of thing, Phineas could have turned it into a drinking game.
The last event of the night was stargazing with a Phineas-and-Ferb twist.  From a control panel next to the screen, Ferb switched between images streaming from satellites crosscountry in real time.
He'd been to space several times, but he never tired of the view.  The sheer vastness of it quieted his anxiety better than anything else; all of his problems seemed miniscule in comparison.
He glanced from the screen to the people sitting around him.  He never tired of this either, having his favorite people all in one place.
God, he loved birthdays.
He felt a weight on his shoulder and looked over to see Isabella resting her head there, her eyes drifting closed.  The pressure matched the warmth growing in his chest and he couldn't help but chuckle.
"Not like you to be the first one out, Iz."  His brain was buzzing with ideas.  After all, her birthday wasn't far away either.
"Sorry," she yawned.  "Long week, I guess."
"Yeah," he whispered.  "Fighting with friends will do that to you."
"Not fighting," she said.
"Uh huh," he said.  He knew her well enough to know she was telling the truth, just not all of it.  After all, she hadn't asked who he was talking about.
He looked up to find him, meeting his eyes for just a moment before Ferb turned back to the screen in a hurry.
No, he definitely wasn't imaging the tension there, and he wanted answers.
Phineas only knew one way to deal with a problem: keep trying until he could fix it.
Saturday, he decided, was the day.  Or it would have been, if he hadn't been completely distracted.
Isabella was spending Saturday facilitating the annual Fireside Girls Silent Auction and Bake Sale.  Phineas was spending it running the cookie booth.  It was quiet, the kind of work that would usually cause his brain to run circles in the other direction, fantasizing about a project he wanted to do or literally anything else.  But when Isabella had asked for his help, she had neglected to mention that the cookie booth was right next to a local artist selling his own work - an artist he had managed to avoid thinking about but who was now Current Phineas's problem.
And the problem - he took a sip of water, glancing over to see Django chatting with a customer - was that he was just as nice as he was when they were kids.  And creative, his brain working on a different wavelength than Phineas's that he found fascinating.  And when he got talking about art, his eyes lit up and-
Yeah, Phineas was in trouble.  And confused.
If he was interested in men...shouldn't that have come up before?  Was he actually interested, or did he just want to rekindle the friendship?  It's not like he was the only one he wanted to listen to get passionate about something - matter of fact, that list was long and included everyone in his family, Isabella, and a couple of kids he'd babysat for once or twice.  Hearing someone be passionate about something was always awesome.
Not thinking about him this week had been easy.  Shouldn't it have been harder if it was actually a crush?
But now that the boy was in front of him, his heart was definitely pounding.  Phineas groaned.
"Everything okay?
"Oh yeah."  He chuckled, embarrassedly.  "Just...hit a wall."
"I can cover your booth if you need to get some coffee or fresh air or something."
He nodded.  "That would be great, actually.  You need anything?"
"I'm good.  Thanks though."
Phineas hoped his smile looked normal, but he certainly felt awkward.  When he found Isabella, he gripped her forearm to steady himself.
"What was the point of this?"
"To raise money for a good cause?"
He crossed his arms, giving her his best 'yeah, right' glare.  He wasn't as good as Ferb, but she got the message.
"Fine.  I thought you could use more data."
"What do you mean?"
"Phineas, let's be honest: you're not...the best at identifying emotions.  Stands to reason that you'll learn more about them the more time you spend with them.  Think of it as an experiment.  No, as research."
He considered it.  "That's...reasonable."
"Another half hour and we get milkshakes.  You can handle that long, right?"
"Fine."
Turns out, he could not.  By the time Isabella came to collect him, he'd asked Django for his number - casually, he hoped, though his sweaty palms didn't help the illusion.
"Wow," Isabella teased, sitting across from him in their booth.  "You work fast."
"The thing is, I still don't know if I like him or I just think he's cool.  I mean, sure my stomach gets a little flip-floppy, but-"
"Phineas, what do you think 'butterflies in your stomach' means?"
He shrugged.
"What you should do," she continued, dipping a fry into her shake, "is invite him to some group thing.  Gives you a chance to get to know him better without any extra pressure.  Process your feelings.  Maybe even practice flirting a little, if you want."
"Except I'm dating you."
"Even better!  He won't suspect anything, so if you decide you do like him, you'll have time to process it without needing to do anything about it."
"Won't it look weird?  Me flirting with somebody else? You don't think it'll blow the whole thing?"
She rolled her eyes, but she was smiling.  "I said 'try' flirting, Phin.  I suffer no delusion that you'll get it right on the first try."
He shook his head, matching her tone.  "You're a real 'glass-half-full' kind of girl, aren't you?"
"Gee, I wonder where I get that from."
"Ferb says-"
"Hey, did I mention how much I appreciated you helping out today?  The Django thing was an added bonus, of course, but I seriously don't know how I would have staffed that table if you hadn't been there."
He took a long sip of his shake.  "All right.  What happened?  Did you two get into a fight or something?"
He almost regretted it, watching her shoulders sag.  "What did Ferb say?"
"That I'm reading too much into it, but he also changes the subject every time your name comes up, so.  Out with it."
She bit her lip, considering.  "Not much to say, really.  I guess we're just-" she shrugged "-growing apart."
"Isabella," Phineas scolded.
"I don't know, okay?  He didn't tell me anything!  Just started acting weird all of a sudden."
That sort of outburst from anyone else would have blown him back.  Here, with Isabella, he pushed what was left of the fries across the table towards her.  "Do you want me to talk to him?"
She shook her head.  "I don't want you to feel like you're caught in the middle."
He tugged on his ear.  He wasn't great at identifying emotions, and even worse at explaining them, but 'caught in the middle' wasn't right at all.  Watching her and Ferb fighting - not even fighting, just not acting like Ferb and Isabella - was enough to make him feel...what?  Heartbroken?  Lost?  A sick sort of hopeless?  He couldn't quite say, but he did know that he would be glad to be 'caught in the middle' if it would fix it.
"It's no trouble."
She smiled without showing her teeth, her eyes wet.  "It's okay," she said.  "I'll...I'll talk to him.  Don't worry about it."
He sucked down the last of his shake so he wouldn't have to respond.  Whatever he was feeling was way past worry, and it wouldn't go away until his best friends were all right again.  Knowing he couldn't help only made the feeling worse.

Growing Stronger - Chapter Four - Happy Birthday, Andrea! (Andrea’s POV)
Once upon a time, a young American oenologist met a gorgeous Portuguese psychology student in the beautiful city of Oporto. He was a writer for a food and travel magazine, working on an article about the winery she worked at part-time as a tour guide. They spent the three days they were together admiring the vineyards, watching the grapes being pressed, examining the casks where the wine must was left to ferment, and finally, by the end of their journey, they kissed while gazing at the beautiful Douro river, certain that they would never see each other again.
However, life would have it another way. The young American returned to his country, but his heart did not. Much to his dismay, it was beating hard and fast, still at Douro’s riverbank, waiting for his return. He took all the money he had saved, said goodbye to his family and rented a house in the city of Matosinhos, in Portugal, determined to find the beautiful psychology student. They met again and instantly reconnected, her family hated him, they eloped and moved to Lisbon after she graduated. Two years later she was well established as a therapist working at a clinic and furthering her studies, while he was writing for Michelin magazine.
My and Joshua’s story begins about this time. Always the overachiever, Mariana couldn’t have just produced one egg, she had to have two. And Jeremy, always eager to make his wife happy, even if without his knowledge, was happy to oblige and fertilize both. And presto! My mother was pregnant with twins. Fraternal twins, to be exact. A boy and a girl, born on June 11th, the girl first, then the boy, five minutes later.
Despite being fraternal twins, Josh and I had nothing in common. I was short, 5.2 feet, while Josh was practically a giant, almost 6.5 feet. He had my father’s hazel eyes and my mom’s dark hair, while I had brown eyes just like my mother, and light brown hair with a few golden highlights, resembling my father. Josh was loud, scattered and somewhat hot-blooded, but funny, witty and kind. He never had any problem making friends, even adults loved his perky attitude. I was more on the shy side growing up, always more interested in my own thing than actually in socializing. Most people didn’t believe we were related, let alone twins. Josh would always correct them with pride. And if anyone even dared to hurt me, they would meet his wrath.
That’s the thing with twins. The moment you are born together, you are best friends for life. It’s like a sacred bond is formed still in the womb, and it can never be broken. A sense of companionship and loyalty, a telepathic connection, something beyond comprehension that only a twin can understand, and that surpassed every downside of having a sibling sharing your birthday… and pretty much everything else.
This bond can be incredibly precious, particularly when you’re in a funk and life does not seem to go your way. When I told Josh that Victor and I were no longer a couple, Josh was able to sense the true sadness in my voice. So he decided to ask as a birthday present that the whole family would come to see me in Loveland for our birthday. I felt the gift was mostly for me. Everything is better with your family by your side.
So there we were, drinking, eating being merry in my tiny apartment. How I could fit 6 people in my tiny kitchen and living room, I had no idea, but this wouldn’t stop us from having fun. The Jones crew was together in celebration, like it was meant to be. Surprisingly enough, my breakup hadn’t been mentioned once, probably because it was my birthday and my mom didn’t want to upset me. I was allowed to just enjoy their presence, drink from their familiar and warm energy, letting myself heal little by little.
After the meal, everybody seemed to scatter, leaving me alone with my mother in the kitchen. Uh oh. I immediately recognized the look on Dr. Mariana’s face. It was an intervention.
“Andrea, we need to talk about the recent changes in your life.” My mom threw, as she took the dirty dishes to my sink. Here we go. I hung my head in defeat.
“Can we talk about this tomorrow? It’s my birthday.”
“And tomorrow you’ll have a different excuse. You pretend everything is okay, that you are moving on from this breakup, but I can see you are hurting.”
“Look, I’m dealing with it, okay? I’m working, exercising, eating healthy. It’s not like I’m depressive, mom.” I tried to placate her.
“Meaning you are trying to distract yourself from it. That’s unhealthy. Do you know what happens to people that bury their feelings?”
“The feelings eat at them.” I mumbled. My mother actually did a study about this. How resentment and pain, if not dealt with, could lead to physical illness.
“You believe you can fool people, but you can’t fool me. I’m your mother. You may pretend everything is alright, that you are taking care of it, that you are embracing life, but you are denying your feelings. It’s your defense mechanism. You pretend to be open so people won’t feel the need to ask you anything. It’s incredibly smart, but also incredibly stupid.”
All of a sudden, I wanted to cry. This conversation reminded me of the many times my mom had begged me to talk to her regarding the abuse I was getting from Daniel, and I had never said a word until the day I decided to leave. The situation wasn’t the same, obviously, but I felt like the black sheep of the family, the family member everyone worried about. My mom came to me and held me in her arms, caressing my hair, like she would do when we were kids.
“Just talk to someone, will you? If not me, anyone else. Still, if you want to, I will listen, and not judge.”
Suddenly, we heard my father’s voice from the door. My father, the innocent soul, so oblivious to potentially awkward situations.
“Hey, guys! Look who I found downstairs!” He shouted, pointing to Victor, who was standing right behind him.
There was a moment of silence. No one knew exactly how to react, not even my mother, usually so cool and quick to adjust. Everybody wore the same incredulous face, staring at Victor. Victor turned every shade of pink, a mortified look in his eyes.
“Come in, Victor, make yourself at home!” My father encouraged him. Victor snapped out of his shame, assuming his usual inscrutable expression.
My father’s words seemed to break the spell for my family as well, as everyone went to Victor, greeting him warmly. Except for me. I was still frozen in place, my heart beating hard in my chest, afraid to collapse on the floor if I made the slightest move. Victor came to me, extending his hand to shake mine.
“Happy Birthday.”
Shaking Victor’s hand was the weirdest thing ever. Unnatural, freakish, like trying to eat soup with your feet. I gave him a soft smile, afraid of how my voice would sound if I talked.
“I won’t be long. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to intrude while you are here with your family. I just came to give you this. You can open it later.” His voice was lower than usual, I could hear a hint of sadness in it. I tried to ease the tension. He handed me a wrapped box.
“It’s fine, I’m happy you came. Sit, let me get you a piece of cake and some cherry wine. My father brought it from Portugal, it’s amazing.”
“No need, I should be going.” Victor turned to leave.
“Victor.” I called, softly. “It’s ok. We don’t need to make things awkward. We were friends before, right? There’s no reason we can’t be friends now.” I gave him an honest and welcoming smile. That seemed to ease some of the tension in him. He sat down.
“Oh, and thanks for the gift. It’s very thoughtful of you.” I said as I went to my cabinet to get a plate and a glass. I also noticed the room was incredibly quiet. My whole family had vanished, God only knew where.
“It’s nothing, don’t think too much of it.” Victor cleared his throat, his cheeks turning pink again. “Just something I bought a while ago for this occasion. I can’t return it now, so you may as well have it.” Suddenly, he got up. “If you don’t mind, I should get going now. Have a great day, Andrea.”
With that, he left, not giving me a chance to reply. I looked at the present on the table, and sat down to open it. It was a golden chain necklace, with a pendant shaped like a tree. I remembered what he told me a few months ago, when I disclosed my abuse to him.
“You are not a puny flower that someone stomped on, you are not flat on the ground, trying to grow back again. You’re a tree. Autumn may take your leaves away and leave you barren, Winter snow may freeze your branches and your roots, but you’ll still be a tree, standing tall through it all. And when Spring comes, you will have leaves and beautiful flowers again, and someone will enjoy your shade, and admire how bravely you stood up to the elements."
Like a powerful explosive, the memory alone blasted the doors of my emotional vault, and everything came pouring out. My family, who I later found out was hiding in my bedroom, came out the moment they heard my sobs.
My mother was right, I needed to talk about it, even if to convince myself it was over. The last time I spoke to Victor I was fueled by rage, and wasn’t able to feel how much I missed him. But seeing him that day, in my kitchen, reminded me of happier times, of his arms around me, of supportive and loving words, of times when none of us were hurt, no ugly words had been said, no slaps had been delivered. My mother held me tight as I told her all the details of our breakup. Like a good therapist, she heard them all in silence, and like a good mother, she wiped the tears from my face and soothed me with loving words. When the emotions seemed to have subsided, and when I was finally able to control my tears, she spoke.
“Honey, this is probably the last thing you want to hear, since you are so decided to move on, but you know I wouldn’t say this lightly. But I think this is just a setback, an issue you have to solve through dialogue. This isn’t final.”
“I slapped him across the face.” I said, bitterly. “That’s final enough.”
“Andy, I saw the way he looked at you. There wasn’t a shred of resentment in his face. Just love. Well, and embarrassment, because your father hasn’t got a clue. But your father did well. You two need a little push.”
I shook my head. I did not want to entertain such thoughts. Whatever feelings one may have for another during a relationship don’t just fade away because they broke up. That was what my mother saw, remnants of a once-happy life, nothing else.
“There’s nothing left to push, mom. There’s nothing left to take, and nothing left to give. Nothing left to work on. He made it clear the last time I saw him. He scratched me off his list the moment I walked out his door.”
And with that, tears came again. Josh got up from his seat and hugged me tight, letting my tears stain his shirt. After a while, he spoke.
“Hey.” He smiled at me.
“Hey.” I spoke, my voice muffled by his shoulder.
Joshua and I didn’t speak much because we didn’t have to. He would never have to ask me how I was, because he always knew. And he also knew when to push me and when to leave me alone. He smiled at me, and I had no choice but to smile back, because I knew exactly what he meant. His grin told me he loved me, that I would get through this, that I was strong and that he would always have my back. And I believed every word he told me.
Twin brothers. Gotta love them.

Im curious, does anyone in the Group(tm) have a sibling? either canon or not. im just curious.
For a few second Phone Guy looked at the Anon, then proceeded to cry his eyes out. Mike made a small, annoyed noise. “No. I don’t. But I always kinda wanted one.” A bit awkward he scratched his neck. “You know… I always imagined it would have been cool to have an older or younger sister. Just someone who helps me keep my brain cells, you know? Or at least someone I can lose brain cells with.” A bit melancholic he shook his head. “… it would have been nice if there would have been someone at home that I would have given a shit about. A reason for me to not fucking act out like a cunt. But in the end I was on my own and I couldn’t give less of a shit what happened to me.” He itched the back of his head. “And now I got scars and hallucinations for it. Yay me.” (Canon or not? What an awfully specific way to put it. Like you KNOW something.Candy’s isn’t particularly canon to my AU, it’s already messy enough, but fun fact, if they were canon, Mary would probably be his long lost sibling. Because that just makes sense to me! And it’s cute. The fact that Mike WANTS a sibling though is just a private easter egg to an old OC that was kinda similar to Mike, so there’s that.Wait, is it an Easter Egg if only the creator knows of it…?Hm.)Jeremy smiled widely, very excited. “Yes, I do! Her name is Elisha! But she HATES being called that, so I just call her Ellie. She is so jealous that I got a "normal” Christian name…“ Happily he snickered. "I think her name is great though. She’s four years older than me! And she has her stuff together! I only rarely hear from her since I… kinda… rarely talk to my dad anymore…?” Awkwardly he coughed. “But last time we talked, I heard she’s moving in with her boyfriend, much to my dad’s dismay. He doesn’t like him for some reason. Maybe he’s just worried because she’s now really growing up or something. Anyways, I love her lots! She helped me make costumes every Halloween! She’s SUPER talented with arts and crafts, but boy, she didn’t get any of mom’s baking talents. That’s all mine!” The boy was grinning his ass off. “Ellie moved out pretty early after her 20th birthday… I missed having her there. She knew how to handle it when there were fights, nothing seemed to affect her and she always called us out on our bullheck.” A bit more somber he recounted. “… even if I feel she sometimes was a bit unfair… to me…” At that part he was a little ashamed. He probably shouldn’t say that, he didn’t know for sure after all. But he was trying to be honest here!“I hope I’ll see her again soon. She often tries to get around family gatherings, so it’s always a gamble if she’s there or not.” Ethan shook his head. “No siblings. But I had a lot of cousins! Some of them lived really close, so we somewhat grew up like siblings? Except we didn’t share a home. Which was probably for the best, they were all really rowdy. They lived in the same city, we met up every week!” It never was his type of game to get messed up, but they were nice to be around every other day and generally a crazy supportive part of his life. “We all got separated by time though. Moved away, gotten better opportunities… I’m sure they’re doing great right now.” His cousins were all clever and talented. There was no other way. Dave shrugged. “I dunno! I don’t think so? Unless ya be countin’ the daisies and dandelions as somethin’ like that. That’s all that came out of my dad, as far as I know.” It was HARD to remember. When he asked his mom where his dad was, it always was a variation of down below. So perhaps his dad made him dandelion siblings! Perhaps the eggplants were related to him. He wasn’t sure. Then again, one time his mom said ‘on the other side’, so perhaps his dad just lived across the street and never came to visit them. Maybe the earth was better over there, who knows. He never cared much. “They might be actually! Never told the cops a thing about my deeds! So they’re fuckin’ trustworthy fellas! Just like me!” Old Sport shrugged. “Nope. No siblings. My family… was a bit too busy for another child. Barely had time for me, hah… sometimes I like to joke that the only reason I was conceived was due to some sort of catastrophe that forced people to stay indoors for a few days!” And nobody would laugh.Because nobody was there at the dining table. As he poured his milk into his cereal the third time that day, because nothing else really was there that he could make for himself. Sure, there were babysitters occasionally, but you couldn’t really tell them clever jokes. They came and went. “… let’s not talk about stuff like that okay!” Suddenly Old Sport started laughing loudly. “You know what I want to do? I want to see if I can- if- if I can create a high-chair by combining as many chairs as possible and then putting wheels and rockets at the lowest chair! LET’S DO IT! GONNA BECOME A WRECKING BALL BABY! WHOOO-HOOOOO!” Everyone turned to stop him as soon as they realized what he was doing. “OLD SPORT, NO!” they would cry. “OLD SPORT YES!” He would retort and create a spectacle for the whole world to marvel at!ALL EYES ON HIM!All eyes on him. Just once.
(Oh, also, I realize this is only an ask for the group, but Henry actually DOES have a non-canon sibling too! It’s Max Mustard Man the Magnificent Mannerly Murderer, he’s a riff on the orange/yellow character from ffps and basically created when me and Dayshift-at-Jules bantered around.I love him, he’s the greatest character and Henry tormented him into sociopathy as a child, even damaging his eye. Now he’s working retail. ... which actually means maybe Henry DIDN’T make him a murderer and it’s the job. It would be totally understandable.)

Worst Week Ever!!!
The only thing that kept you from letting out a scream when you finally entered your home was the fact that you lived in an apartment building. You did not want to risk someone calling the cops on you in the idea that you were hurt, so instead, you stomped through the hallway, past Zero who was lying on your couch, and into your bedroom to drop your body onto the bed. You could hear him say your name and from his tone, you knew he had noticed that not everything was like it usually were on a Friday afternoon; you were usually cheerful at the idea of weekend. TGIF, right? You guessed that the usual relief when that saying that phrase applied to this as well - relief at the fact that this work-week was over.
As your face hit the mattress, you realised that you didn’t even care enough to take off your coat and boots, no you needed this too much to care about anything else. You pulled your pillow close to your chest before lifting it to your face, and then you screamed into it until your lungs gave out and you had to heave in a huge amount of air to scream again. It felt better afterwards, just a little.
Maybe I should just go to bed, you thought to yourself as you rolled onto your back. You stared at the ceiling and it felt like it was staring back at you, judging your wish of sleeping your sorrows away. It was not wrong to go to bed at five in the afternoon, was it? With all the crap that you had had to endure throughout the days, which had made the week seem like a month, you almost deserved a long break from life.
“Hey,” you looked towards the voice, Zero leaning against the wooden frame of the door with his usual tired eyes. You knew that your entrance hadn’t gone unnoticed, and whilst it might have for most Ricks, Zero was different and a lot more observant which you guessed was simply a trait that the quiet types had.
“Hey,” you looked away again, going back to your staring competition with the ceiling.
“Is everything alright?” He took a few steps towards you; the radiation of your whole being telling him to tread carefully unless he wanted an outburst to happen. You contemplated not answering his question. It was not because he was annoying you with his interest but because you feared that you’d start the longest rant that would eventually make him leave your flat from the tediousness of it, and under no circumstances could he leave; you’d missed him too much during the week.
“No,” you replied, looking at him through the corner of your eye. You pushed out your bottom lip in a pout and folded your arms across your chest.
“Rough week?” He egged you on, clearly wanting to be there for you, and then something happened, something that took both of you completely by surprise: You started sobbing and it was the best feeling that had washed over you in days. You absolutely bawled your eyes out, heaving for breaths as you stuttered whilst talking.
You started listing things, mentioning the way you car’s battery had been acting up and made you late three times this week, one particular time standing out a lot more than the others, “A-a-and I get out there and they’ve already started the presentation without me! I mean, I know- I know that I was late, but it wasn’t my fault! I worked my ass off, and fucking Jeremy took all o-of the credit!”
You were sitting up now as you had started to feel your tears run down over your ears and into your hair. Zero had accompanied you on the bed, brushing his hand up and down your back but saying nothing at all. The look of sympathy, the small nods of understanding and the warmth of his touch were enough to tell you that you could go on for as long as you liked, and you proceeded by telling him the cost of a new battery and the way your boss had threatened you with taking a bit off of your salary this month, “And I- just fuck him, he knows I do everything around there. I even left my keys in anger and had to do some weird version of the walk of shame, go back and get them after frantically searching for them in my purse and my car for half an hour.”
Zero pulled you into his chest, resting his chin at the top of your head and humming in agreement to everything you said. You weren’t sure if he was actually listening but even if he was pretending, it was nice to finally let it all out. He pulled away briefly to wipe a few fresh tears away from your face, and you smiled sadly at him. He smiled in return, a rare thing to see on his usual stone-face, “Sounds like you had an eventful week, huh, babe?”
“Yeah,” you were silent for a moment but then reached into your pocket, fishing out your phone to show him a huge crack along the screen, “And would you believe this? As if things couldn’t get any worse.”
You threw it on the bed, throwing yourself down onto it as well as you let out a frustrated groan. This truly could not get any worse, in fact, it could only get better from here on out.
“I can fix that for you,” he said, “Just give me till tomorrow.”
“I just want to go to sleep,” you mumbled, shuffling up on the bed to rest your head on your pillow, “I’m not tired but the whole world seems a bit too much right now.”
“Well, you can’t go to sleep in your winter coat and boots,” Rick stated as were it a scientific fact, crawling to the end of the bed. He started untying your shoes, pulling them off slowly and dropping them onto the floor. You thought about how sweet he was when he pulled off your socks as well, indirectly letting you know that he remembered how you despised sleeping with your socks on.
“Thank you,” you said, closing your eyes to drift off.
“Let’s just take it one step at a time,” you could feel he was moving on the bed again, reaching out for your coat to unbutton it slowly and as he managed to undo the first one, you giggled in surprise, opening your eyes again, as he started kissing you after each one. Eight kisses that only turned more and more loving with each one, and you found yourself embarrassingly whining for more when he wanted to pull away to push the coat off your shoulders.
You let him do it though, knowing that if you played your cards right, you would have to take it off anyway. Your eyes followed his every move as he pulled it out from underneath you, ready to react if he wanted to leave the bed and when he suddenly  looked determined to go put it in the entrance hall, you reached for his wrist, “You know, I think I might have an idea how to make me feel better.”
“I’m doing the best I can,” Zero chuckled, giving up on trying to tidy up and leaving the clothes on the floor beside the bed. He then continued stripping you from your clothes, peeling off your blouse and jeans until your underwear was fully visible. You had goosebumps all over, and Rick hummed as rubbed your arms and kissed your bare skin to make them go away.
“I love you,” you mumbled, and it made him look up at your face. He smiled one of his rare smiles, then reached to take off his striped sweater. You grinned as you saw how his already unruly hair became more unruly, wanting to touch him as soon as possible but when you reached out, he pulled back to strip himself of the rest of his clothes.
“There,” he said, completely naked in front of you and you responded by returning the favour by getting into your birthday suit as well. Zero slowly crawled back onto you.
The first touches of skin against skin were sweet, the vulnerability of feeling your stomachs pressing together, without any clothing separating you and making your body ache as were you walking on power lines. The electricity that shot up from wherever your bodies touched and to your fingertips was flowing through him as well because his voice dropped an octave and his breathing hitched.
“I know,” you mumbled, shifting underneath him until you felt his cock on your belly. You still held onto his shoulders but then ran your fingertips down over the muscles at his biceps which were taut from holding himself up, “You make me feel so much better, you know that?”
Zero chuckled at that, shaking his head in a humble way that was so unlike any other Rick and you knew that he was the one for you. He shifted his weight to one arm before reaching down between the two of you to grab his cock in his hand. You responded by bending your legs up and opening them.
When he slid inside of you with barely any effort, time stood still in the already quiet room. Nothing existed in here, everything around you was ripped from your senses except the feeling of him filling up your cunt, a shaky whimper leaving your mouth as it fell open, “Oh-”
You angled your hips upwards and Rick nearly fell forward as you engulfed his cock even more, “Holy shit.”
“Sorry,” you giggled, and the look on his face told you that even doing that was too overwhelming after all the anticipation of slowly undressing. You’d never know the feeling of being inside someone whilst they giggled but it seemed to be pretty damn good in the way that Rick’s eyes nearly rolled back into his head as you simply giggled even more.
Eventually, Rick covered your mouth with his hand, shushing you with a playful smile and you did your best to calm down again. This wasn’t going anywhere anyway, if he could barely contain himself, and you needed some of the fun as well.
“There we go,” he praised as you finally stopped laughing against his hand, making him draw back and then slide back inside of you, “Good.”
You moaned softly, feeling your body sink even further down into the mattress as he started a slow pace. His strokes were languid, lazy even, and they were just teasingly shallow enough to leave you sighing for him to do more.
Rick being on top was a possibility to explore his delicate light skin; you said light as he was less tan than the rest of the Ricks you had met due to him liking the indoors a bit too much. Your hands came up to rest on his chest, running your fingers over the smooth skin only to dig your fingertips slightly into it, noticing every little beauty mark, scar and how he was turning slightly pink for the effort he was putting in, in fucking you.
You lifted yourself up as best as you could, breathing heavily as the strokes still teased but shifted with your movement, only to kiss at his shoulder, tasting the saltiness and the taste that could only be his. He took it as you wanting more, one hand holding your thigh to lift your leg onto his hip so he could go deeper, replacing the shallowness with much more thoroughness. You fell back down, arching your back as he placed your other leg over his other hip as well.
The two of you were even closer now, and mere moments ago, being even closer had seemed impossible. You pulled at him by linking your arms around his neck and shoulders, wanting the weight of him on your chest so you could kiss him deeply. And kiss him you did; every little fibre of your body giving in to him as your lips and tongues met in a clash of sucking and nibbling.
In return, he sped up his thrusts and altered the angle just slightly, earning a string of moans from you that made you lose the control over the kiss that you had; him being so close made it possible for him to grind his pelvis against your clit.
“Fuck, Rick- I’m…” you parted your lips to look down between you, unable to keep your noises to a yourself and admiring the way he could work his hips so well.
“I’m close,” he breathed, voice shaking so much that you knew he was indeed. You started to chase your own orgasm after that, grinding against his pelvis and wantonly pushing back down on his cock whilst he struggled to follow along.
“Make me come,” you moaned, untangling your arms from around him and sliding your hands up into his hair instead to pull his head down for another messy kiss. Your climax was mounting, hanging on by a thread, and from the way the both of you struggled to keep up the kiss, his was too. All you had to do was keep going, and going, and going, and-
As if you had taken the leap of faith off a cliff, a wave of pleasure surged forward in your lower abdomen and then another, and another and you could do nothing but ride it, with cries that mixed with Zero’s, until it ebbed away and left you happier than you had been the rest of the week.
On top of you, Zero had collapsed on top of you and you felt the stickiness of his come between your legs. He was heavy but perfect, and you took the opportunity to inhale his hair and kiss it softly until he started stirring again.
“Let me get you a towel and a flannel,” he mumbled and got out of bed, going back to his usual quiet state. You nodded and didn’t mind at all, wanting mostly to get cleaned up and then go to sleep.
It didn’t take many seconds of staring up at the ceiling and relishing in the glory of a good orgasm before he was back, handing a damp cloth to you so you could wipe yourself down and urging you to lift yourself up, so he could slide a towel underneath you.
“I figured you didn’t want to get up, so the sheets could be changed,” he smiled shyly, looking at you with tired eyes.
“Come here, I can see you’re tired,” you said, patting the bed and he crawled close you, “An orgasm really knocks you out, huh?”
“Any excuse just to sleep,” he muttered, making you chuckle as you snuggled close to him and closed your eyes.
“Don’t wake me,” you said, “I just want to sleep until tomorrow and I know you get snacky after sex.”
“Goodnight then,” he replied but you were already drifting off.

You woke up the next day to a phone screen without a scratch, having slept throughout the whole afternoon and night… And the smell of pancakes was wafting through your home. God, you were starving and the work-week was forgotten.

TVD 3x01 Review
1. I find it hilarious during this recap when you hear Katherine’s voice “Does Elena enjoy having the two of you worship at her altar” the SE scene is mutual, with Elena and Stefan cuddling at the lakehouse and the DE scene is when Damon broke into Elena’s room and stroked her face as she slept.
2. JoMo doing an American accent is always weird. It doesn’t even look like he’s speaking, it looks like he’s mouthing the words and someone else is speaking.
3. “Kill this one quickly, make that one suffer.” TVD and their casual anti-blackness.
4. I feel like the song Elena wakes up to was in Grey’s. Probably.
5. I’ll do it for initiumseries: FORWOOOOOOOOOOD.
6. “Sleep in your dead parents’ room or my dead girlfriend’s...” NICE ONE, ALARIC. I’m telling you guys, John was the only real adult on this show.
7. I like how Damon stopped compelling Andie so that’s supposed to mean he’s a better person and it’s like, but their entire “relationship” was still predicated on him compelling her and feeding on her and using her as a soundboard for his stupid Elena “problems”. When Stefan kills her, I feel bad for her because she doesn’t deserve that but I do not feel bad for Damon and DErs who say that it’s comparable to Damon killing Lexi are ridiculous.
8. Also Damon purposefully showing up around Elena naked is not cute.
9. HIS HAIR IS SO STUPID.
10. Looking at Damon I’m just like LMAO remember that time those anons tried to argue with me about Ian being more jacked than Paul?
11. Also Elena actually just looks uncomfortable with him so close, she doesn’t look tempted or hot and bothered or seduced, she looks like he’s in her personal space.
12. “See you at the party...” Andie, you are a grown ass woman. You are a news anchor. Why would you even WANT to go to an 18 y/o girl’s birthday party?
13. The season they made Jeremy a dick to Bonnie. Ugh.
14. Awww Forwood denials. Their stares are so cute.
15. Cut your hair, Damon.
16. Seriously, cut your fucking hair.
17. I always thought Stefan’s ripper psychology with humanity was really interesting and we didn’t get into it enough.
Tumblr media
18. “Just because I tell you things doesn’t mean you’re allowed to know them!” Seriously, Caroline was peak teen girl until about this season when she had nothing to do.
19. This Forwood scene always makes me giggle and feel super uncomfortable just because of the way Michael STARES at Candice.
20. “It’s like I can’t turn it off.” “...yeah.” Such the right amount of awkward.
21. Burning down a house isn’t covering tracks though? Just because the bodies are burnt doesn’t mean that the coroner can’t see that the victims’ heads were decapitated and or tell that they were dead before the fire started.
22. Or that the house was set fire because of arson.
23. Klaus looks so turned on at watching Stefan torture people. Jfc.
24. Paul also does a much better job at the emotionless/robotic soldier than Ian did.
25. “You saved my brother’s life, I’m in your service.” “Aw, you make it sound so tedious and indentured.” Klaus just wants you to love him, Stefan.
26. I’m not even going to get into the necklace scene because I get into it so many times: https://zalrb.tumblr.com/post/148984820350/can-you-give-examples-of-delena-retconned-moments
https://zalrb.tumblr.com/post/168069600195/do-you-want-a-meta-on-why-its-earned-or-how-its
27. I will say that it’s honestly just such a flatly acted scene and Nina and Ian look stiff. There’s a reason why DErs cut the gifs of this scene
Tumblr media
because when Elena looks at Damon full on, she’s dead in the face.
Tumblr media
28. And Damon does not look age appropriate. At all.
29. “What’s got you on your spiral downward?” It’s a joint. It’s not like when he was a fucking drug dealer in season 1.
30. “I love high school parties.” Because you are a predator, Damon.
31. The cinematography for the Stefan-stalking-Andie scene is pretty good though.
32. “Well you’ve only said five words to me all summer and those were four of them.” Lol. I like Forwood but I did like Maroline too.
33. “What the hell??” I like how Tyler acts like he can’t just follow Sophie out of the party and continue the party with her at his house?
34. It would also be super weird for students to see one of their teachers at a party.
35. “You have to admit you’re kind of just letting your life pass you by.” I mean I get it but it’s also been 2 months of summer, Caroline. But I’ve always said that Caroline wasn’t really a fighter when it came to being IN relationships with the exception of Matt. Yes, I include Tyler in this too. As friends, she was a fighter but in a relationship, not so much.
36. “You want me to make a wish? I just want to know that he’s alive. That’s it.  That’s my wish.” And it came true :)
37. Those heels look awkward on Nina.
38. And this is the thing about Andie’s death. We saw Stefan shoot Elena up to a ferris wheel in season 2. We see them jump up onto a roof in season 5. Damon couldn’t jump up and get Andie? TVD is shitty with circumstances surrounding death which is why, I respect Stefan’s choice to save Matt in 3x22 but hate the execution of him saving her.
39. Matt: You’re more stoned than I am (even though Zach is acting drunk not high) Jeremy: But I’m a high functioning stoner.
40. “ExUSe me.” LOL I always think that part is hilarious.
41. “Stefan’s gone and he’s not coming back” *touches necklace* DE symbol my ass.
42. “You still care for your brother, for your old life.“ CAN’T YOU SEE I WANT YOU FOR MYSELF?
43. Alaric was being super selfish leaving them. Jenna was your sometimes girlfriend but she was their aunt and [shitty] guardian.
44. Those were shitty heels, man.
45. FORWOOD SEX. Steroline could never. Candice was not moaning like that with Paul. It was bad.
46. You know, instead of Damon trashing Stefan’s room what would’ve made him look better is him being with Andie’s body and mourning her.
47. Why does Stefan have a guitar in his room?
48. One of my favourite SE scenes. Legit it’s a beautiful scene. An entire episode of them being apart, of everyone telling Elena to give up, of Stefan seemingly uncaring, Elena nearly missing the call and then the breath of fresh air that comes with the call.

Jeremy gave a laugh for the first time that night before following Michael out through the doors they had before, high fiving and smiling all the way to the cruiser that had sat innocently outside the emergency room for hours. Yeah, things were going to be just fine.
Jeremy sat in the gazebo, the same one that he’d been watching not so long ago while he was waiting for you on top of a blanket, supplies in the back of his car for anything and everything—except what had actually happened. You’d asked him there this time, promising to show up when you could, telling him that sometimes your follow up appointments went longer than they were scheduled. As much as he wanted to be calmer than the last time, he discovered that he couldn’t. The fears were there, this time the reality of danger and the events had been encrypted into his daydreams. His hands were sweaty perpetually, almost like every time he attempted to get rid of the moisture, it would just come back with full force, seemingly worse than it had been the last time. He also can’t stop from fidgeting, fingers hitting the white painted wooden bench in the gazebo to playing with the loose thread on his jeans, to just plain running his hands across one another. Maybe that’s how he’d realized the sweat being worse than normal.
He decides it would be a good idea to shift his focus to other things in the park. It would distract him from being worried about you, every minute that you could be late could be another hurtful thing that’s happening; unable to be controlled and unable to keep you safe like he’d promised to do so long ago. Jeremy notices a man jogging amidst the trees, briskly keeping his heartrate up and Jeremy is sure he can see a Fitbit on the guy’s wrist, marking time, keeping up, noting every little thing that the jogger is doing. He shifts his eyes somewhere else, quickly noticing a golden retriever running with its owner and playing fetch. He smiles at the dog, relaxing a little bit as they jump and bark at their owner, almost begging to throw the ball again. And as much as he loved watching the dog; as much as it calmed him down, he made a note to point it out to you when you got there. Jeremy knows how much you’d love the dog, he can practically see eyes shining and your smile wide as you talk about how adorable they are.
He’s early; but that’s what Jeremy wanted. Follow up appointments aren’t fun, and he knows that you’d probably been told to rest, that a lot happened, and in order to heal properly, you’d need some time just napping, sitting, and laying around for a bit. Even if you hadn’t been told to rest and to take some time for yourself, Jeremy would be the biggest advocate for it. He’d played Night in the Woods, knowing that Mae can’t even eat solid food when she first gets home. Sure, this was fact and not fiction, but it was better to rest for a long time than to hurt yourself more because you thought you were okay. And there’s a tugging at Jeremy, knowing that if you’re late, he’d understand completely. The last time he’d been left in the park wasn’t your fault, as much as you wanted to put the blame on yourself. But it wasn’t, and if he was honest, the only thing Jeremy wanted was to keep you safe and happy. If you bailed last second because you were just too weak? He’d understand and just go home, maybe facetime you later if you really wanted to talk.
That, and it’s a nice day. The golden hour was just beginning, light blues and bright yellow sunrays now turning golden with each passing minute in the warm summer evening. Jeremy smiles to himself—you were definitely going to point out that it was the golden hour and how much you loved everything completely basked in the light of day, summer nights being almost as beautiful as the mornings when you wake up by yourself and enjoy a cup of coffee while waiting for the rest of the world to awaken. It’s peaceful, almost tranquil in the morning, and frankly, at the park. Maybe warmer, maybe more humid, but the idea was there, summer grills just beginning to be fired up in the distance around the suburban area. He wipes his hands on his jeans again.
Jeremy pulls out his phone, checking the time. It’s still 5 minutes before the range of times you said you’d be there, but he decides to look at the text you’d sent again. It was evidence, something that was real. This time you’d asked him to the park to talk and spend time with good company. Or at least, he assumed you liked him, given all the time you’d spent together. His eyes dance over the text, heating racing at the thought of spending more time with you before leaving for college.
You: Hey! I was released yesterday and I was wondering if you wanted to hang out? I want to make things up, but if you don’t, I totally understand!
His heart does a flip as he locks his phone; back into his dark wash jean pocket it goes. Jeremy had decided to wear the same outfit Brooke had recommended before; it was easy, the clothes were recently washed, and he didn’t have to ask for more help. There was also the added fact that Brooke probably knew you’d been hospitalized and might want details that Jeremy can barely keep a secret from any wondering questions. It was easier this way. Keeping this meeting as secretive as he could might keep you safe for longer than it would if anyone except Michael, his dad, and honestly probably Mrs. and Mrs. Mell knew it.
A breeze passes through and the leaves shake a little bit, sun streaming through each leaf and making it glow, the clapping washing through the area. Jeremy eyes the spot he’d been waiting at for a second. He can practically see the blanket, almost reliving the heartbreak and hurt of that night. He can remember the panic of figuring out, the minutes wasted at Michael’s house, Brooke walking her dogs with Chloe, the lie about the sweater—that damn sweater. Jeremy physically shakes his head of those thoughts, closing his eyes as he does so, refocusing on the white painted wooden gazebo bench. You’re totally fine. He never realized the gazebo had a light inside of it, but now that he was seated inside of the beautiful shelter, it made sense why this was such a popular date spot. Not that this was a date, it was just something you’d suggested.
But should he have brought something for you? You did just get out of the hospital after some pretty serious stuff. Maybe he should’ve gotten you flowers or a small stuffed animal that can fit in your bag; just a reminder that he cares and is there for you. Then again, if either of those things were found, that might be another reason for you getting injured at the hands of the inhuman monster you were dating.
Jeremy can hear footsteps coming up the stairs, and his head whips around to see you, giving him a smile. He notices your hand gripping the railing and immediately rushes up to help. Stepping down two of the stairs, he offers his arm to lean against for extra support. You gladly take it, smiling as a small “thank you” slips from your lips. The two of you get to the top, but Jeremy can’t fathom letting go as you step across to the bench that Jeremy had been sitting at. Another breeze, more clapping and sunshine. When the two of you reach the bench, Jeremy helps you sit down, flashes of grimaces come across your face, clearly still in pain from the events that happened before.
Once you’re seated, Jeremy follows suit, giving you some space so that if you need to adjust at any moment, you’re able to. It’s now that Jeremy is reminded of just how badly things had gotten. You had been in the hospital for a week and a half, but you still needed help doing basic actions, and probably had to recover from any movement. If it was from anything, it was probably the ribcage that really did you in. Jeremy had heard of really terrible abdominal surgeries, how patients can’t move properly for a while afterwards. Maybe that’s why he was so inclined to help you. Well, that, and what kind of deranged animal wouldn’t help someone who needed it? A person appeared in Jeremy’s mind, one that you knew too well, before he dismissed the thought and refocused on you.
It was now that Jeremy realized his sweater was in your hand, probably from the bag that now sat next to you. The sun kept shining as you began to speak, smiling at him with that sweet smile he’d seen several times before, and yet always seemed to forget how it made it him feel until it appeared on your face once again. “Hey, thanks for meeting me on such a weird notice. I wanted to meet up before we like get too busy because, you know, college and stuff.”
“No problem,” a blush creeps over Jeremy’s cheeks. He can feel the moisture accumulate against his hands again—he’s nervous. He shouldn’t be nervous around you anymore. He inhales, ready to say more, but you get there faster than he does.
“How are you?”
Blinking fast, Jeremy is taken aback by your question. He thought for sure that you wouldn’t ask about him. Wasn’t this meeting supposed to be about…he actually wasn’t sure anymore. But he was sure that he just wanted to see you again; maybe that’s why he’d said yes to meeting up at the same heinous spot. He somehow manages to stutter out a response to you, “O-Oh? I’m good. Yeah, uhh, how are you?”
You nod, eyes shifting to the floor before smiling at him once again. “I’m okay. Better now that I’m actually out of my house and doing something fun. Not just, you know, follow up doctor’s appointments and how I’m not supposed to do x or y or z until whenever.”
There’s a second that Jeremy can feel his entire face light up, turning redder than it had in weeks, perhaps since you’d agreed to go stargazing with him. You had just admitting to having fun with him. You wanted to see him, and Jeremy was just…so smitten by that fact. He can feel his heart flutter similar to a butterfly, almost hitting the edge of his ribcage so hard that he was sure it would make an escape. “I’m glad,” is all he can manage to get out, especially when you’re looking at him like he’s the entire world.
“Yeah, me too.” You smile wider before your eyes shift around, breaking away from your own gaze as you scan the gazebo. Your eyes finally land onto the flooring of the structure before you half mumble out a “Kinda sick of white walls right now.” A grimace comes across your face and remains for a few seconds, almost like those phrases alone could cause food poisoning in the next breath.
Jeremy pauses and remains observing you, just for a few seconds before it dawns upon him that you’re doing what he had been before—partially reliving that same fateful night, flashes from the white hospital walls and whatever else you’d seen. He isn’t sure what the interior of your boyfriend’s house looks like, but given that his house also has white walls, there has to be an element of that as well as the same hospital room you were so used to seeing. It’s what many would call a flashback, but he knows sometimes that doesn’t feel like the right term. He can practically see you crumbling, getting upset by your own attempt at a joke; knowing how damaging that is, knowing how painful it is that you just managed to hurt yourself while trying to be better, trying to forget. There’s a moment that he waits, debating on what to do, before making a bold choice and placing his hand onto the space between you to, having it rest onto the bench, palm towards the stars that would be appearing in a few hours. That way, it’s a choice, without you having to say something—usually normal bodily functions aren’t an option in these moments of needing help in the most eccentric way.
You look at his hand out of the corner of your eye, Jeremy’s gaze softening as he realizes you’re contemplating doing it. If there’s something he wants to be for you, it’s comfort, safety, the idea that he’s soft and would never, and he means ever, hurt his significant other intentionally. Fuck, he wouldn’t even do that to his friends. He doesn’t realize he’s beginning to zone out until Jeremy feels your hand slip into his open one, a contract of trust being enforced with every passing second that physical contact is made. He can see the etchings of the bruise that had been there before slipping out from behind your light long sleeves. You’re still staring at a specific point, unaware that every ounce of light around you now seems to point to you, as if you were the most important star in every galaxy, any galaxy. His mind shifts through the things that had been said to him by Michael when he got like this after the SQUIP, memories, choices, things haunting him as your mind flashes through everything. It’s now that he decides that Michael’s sayings might not work right now. So he shifted to the things Christine used to tell him; things she’d looked up because she cared and wanted to help so much. He can recall a specific phrase she’d said, one that rang in his head louder than anything else; the most important one that had ever been said. He quietly, almost a whisper, sent the phrase out, hoping it would help: “Hey, it’s over now. It’s okay.”
There’s a moment that you process the information before nodding and moving your head back to him, every quickly following. Your back is still practically cemented to the wall of the gazebo. Your hand squeezes his before you let go of it, finally letting Jeremy get a full view of your face when it’s just resting. He can see the outlines of the bruise and marks you had, your attempt at hiding them with makeup, but chose not to say anything. It was better for the both of you to leave the topic alone. He could feel himself tense, however, at the bruises that still littered your neck, the marks of struggle, of oxygen deprivation still there, almost glaring at him from the depths of that night. You softly whisper a “sorry” into the air, almost masked by the gentle breeze that keeps making its way through the area.
“It’s okay. I can’t imagine how hard this has been.” Jeremy wasn’t lying. He actually didn’t know about everything you were going through. He had an idea, but he obviously didn’t have all the information.
“Thanks.”
There’s another pause, and the air finally settles around you two, sunrays more golden than before, almost making the scene around you two angelic. It was like good was streaming through the gazebo and the park, even though almost everyone in the time zone had the same golden hour experience. But they didn’t matter right now. Their moment in the gold wasn’t as important as this one between you and Jeremy. It’s now that Jeremy notices that the dog and their owner is long gone, the jogger probably home for dinner. It’s just you two, spending time together in the secluded area.
A vibration rings out into the air, and you immediately look over, tension now shooting through every muscle, no matter the pain. It’s involuntary, a reaction, a reflex at this point. You picked up you phone; it must’ve just been resting on the bench, and read the message to yourself, not saying anything. Jeremy assumed that it was your mom or your best friend, despite the tension that was definitely something you’d been trained to do. Yeah, it was probably your parents asking about where you were, when you’d be home, or your best friend asking about when you’d be available so that you two could see each other before the ever-looming departure to college. You look you’re your shoulder, a flinch, before scanning the area around the gazebo, Ford’s Park never looking so graceful. There’s a pause, a rest, before you lock your phone, not typing out a reply and setting it back beside you.
“Are you okay?” he asks, tempted to look around in the same manner you just did.
“Yeah, totally. Just uhh I have plans after this. My boyfriend wants to make things up to me. But you now, he said he wasn’t home so uhh I was just making sure he wasn’t around. I don’t want to put you in danger, especially when all you’ve done is be my friend when things got rough. You shouldn’t be punished for that.”
Jeremy freezes. The warmth that was once around him, and frankly in him from your presence, was gone. You just said boyfriend. Not ex-boyfriend. Meaning that you were still in a relationship with him, meaning you were still in danger, meaning that this meeting just got that much more crucial; you couldn’t be seen in public with him, or else who knows what would happen? It was just accusations last time, right? But if he saw this, what would that mean? And why hadn’t you left him in the safety of the hospital? Why hadn’t you—
Jeremy stops himself. He knows that’s victim blaming, how hurtful those thoughts are, how painful it is for someone you consider a friend to say that. Refocusing, he notices that the end of your sentence was about him being in danger. But what about you? His heart sunk. You put him above yourself; you don’t care about what happens to you, even while still injured and still needing help to walk a few feet and up any stairs. At this point, another beating, another session of abuse, could result in your death. Fuck, how long had it been since someone told you that you mattered? And not just because you were supposed to work as a therapist, parent, and partner to someone who didn’t deserve it? How long had it been since someone had shown you some kind of softness that didn’t come from the short sessions with him? Because to him, you deserved it constantly and consistently. You deserved to be happy in your skin, or with someone if you so chose to. Not whatever the fuck this dysfunctional thing was. You deserved—
“I know, Jeremy. I know it’s bad that we’re dating still. I want to break up with him, I just…don’t know how.”
Jeremy nods, still somewhat staring off into space before meeting your eyes. “That’s totally understandable.”
And it was. Things like this needed to be handled with care. His thoughts drifted off into how you could break up with him safely, but his mind kept getting blocked. He didn’t know a lot about this situation, he didn’t know a lot about your boyfriend. He just had the urge to keep you safe. Then again, what about your parents? Didn’t they know what happened? And your best friend? The ones who were there for you when you needed it?
“What’s up?” You interrupt his thoughts once more, Jeremy warping back into the tranquil park, still abandoned by everyone except you two. A minute of worry soars from you; and suddenly Jeremy knows how quiet he’s been. He knows what that must read to you. He takes a second to relax, telling himself that it probably wasn’t good to blame your friends and family. If anything, your best friend was probably in the same boat as Jeremy. It wasn’t fair to think these things about you or your lifestyle, especially that you’d just confessed that you wanted out. It’s not your fault, this whole time, nothing has been your fault, despite what you’ve been told. And that was another thing, your boyfriend probably lied to people, they probably thought you’d just fallen down the stairs or something that wasn’t his fault. A lie he could perpetually tell himself so that he could continue to live in a lie.
“I’m just thinking about this whole situation,” he finally responds.
“I know, I’m stupid for not doing it sooner and stuff, but fuck, Jeremy, you have to understand that it’s not always bad. Sometimes it looks like everything is going to go back to what it was when we first started dating. This, right now, is an upswing until I’m back to full health. You know, like full HP.”
Both of you chuckle at that last statement, ease seeping through the wide windows of the gazebo as the sun continues to set in the West. It’s easier to talk now, and Jeremy fully understands your coping mechanism—or at least to understand that jokes from you are to laughed at, encouraged, and that it was just you talking about feelings in that typical passive way. The chuckles break out into full-fledged laughter after a second, something about “unfortunately, this isn’t like Zelda, where I’m going to get extra hearts for beating a boss”. The laughter was the only thing to beat out the whispers of the breeze, making the gold not only coming from the sun, but from you as well. It dies down after a minute or two, and finally you settle back down. Jeremy now notices the flinch that comes with laughter now, and he quickly has an “Are you okay?” flying from his mouth.
“Yeah, Jeremy. I think some of my pain meds are wearing off, but I think this conversation is worth it. I haven’t laughed like that in like decades.”
There’s another second that Jeremy nods before he speaks up again, concern laced with his words. “I would offer advice, but I don’t know the entire situation as well as you do. Please be safe though, okay?”
“Jeremy, you don’t need to worry about me. You should focus on you for a bit. I mean, we’re going off to college soon.” Your eyes set into the distance, almost fixed on one specific branch of a tree just outside of the gazebo. It’s similar to the one he’d seen a few minutes ago, but less intense. It’s more a deep in thought stare, rather than a mental health endangering gaze. But still, Jeremy can sense something is off.
“You okay?”
It’s soft and quiet, but he can see your hands tensing and clenching together, jaw remaining stoic. “Hmm?” you recover after a few seconds, unclasping your hands. “Oh, uhh yeah. Just thinking too much.”
The air settles as Jeremy’s mind turns its gears; he’s definitely heard that before. It only takes a few seconds before it pinpoints the exact reference. “Did you get that from Kate Marsh? Life is Strange, episode 1?”
“Shit, Jeremy, maybe you know me too well.”
You two laugh again, and even though yours is a little strained, the moment is almost perfect. This is what that night a week and a half ago should’ve been. Soft blushes, laughing at jokes that only you two understand, light hearts, light minds, and absolutely no worries. The added element of the stars would’ve made this moment absolutely marvelous, but the golden light turning pink would do; it was absolutely better than nothing, playing video games in Michael’s basement while worrying about your well being as Michael kicked his ass at Mario Kart again. But this? Yeah, he wouldn’t trade this time, this moment, for anything in the world. The laughter doesn’t continue for much longer, dying down into nothingness. The sun continues to set, almost making you look radiant. Jeremy’s heart skips a beat before he continues the conversation.
“What were you thinking so hard about?”
You almost flinch at the question, your own thoughts, anything that was happening in your brain before. Wiping your hands on your pants, much like Jeremy does, you begin to fidget, words coming shakily and oddly out of your mouth. “I don’t know. Just like I’ve lost a lot of friends and I don’t want to lose you. I think you deserve some stress-free alone time.”
Jeremy’s heart sinks. He offers up his hand once again, in the same manner as before, knowing that holding hands is grounding and helpful to him; he’s sure it’s helpful to you. He can see the hurt, the things he’d seen before, both in himself and in you from the past few minutes, past few months, but this time there’s an element that isn’t there before. You were alone. You were isolated. And most importantly, you thought that you were a burden to everyone, including your friends. This is exactly what your boyfriend wanted. He wanted you to not have a lifeline so that this could go on for years. Just like the SQUIP had done to Jeremy with Michael and with his dad. But Jeremy considered himself pretty smart. He knew the tactics, and knew that no matter what, no matter how hard your boyfriend tried, Jeremy would still call himself your friend. He’d been in the same situation and was still grateful to Michael. This was his chance to return the favor. He saw himself in you, saw that you needed someone, and Jeremy was more than happy to be that someone.
Throughout the thoughts, Jeremy’s hand must’ve relaxed, it folding in like a dead spider in the middle of winter. And the only way he knew that was because you grabbed your hand in his, squeezing it tightly, almost awakening him from a daydream of essentially being your hero; the protagonist that maybe doesn’t get the love interest but helps them get out of their crappy situation. He can feel your eyes on him, waiting for him to say something, anything. The desperation slipped through your gaze and oozed into Jeremy’s life.
But he doesn’t really have anything to say. Instead, he meets the gaze, mustering up all of the softness in his heart—which, was a lot while hanging out with you, at any given moment. He can feel himself change with every millisecond that you two are observing each other, hands perfectly intertwined. He squeezes back, and see the corners of your mouth turn upwards, pink making it’s way into your cheeks like pink had made its way through the sky, the golden hour slowly fading away. The rest of the world fades away, everything except the gazebo untouchable, you two unable to be disturbed in this beautiful moment, soft breezes keeping the temperature at almost a near perfect.
You sigh, shoulders relaxing as you keep your eyes stuck on him, love—platonic or not—steeping in the twilight. You inhale a little bit before something leaves your lips, a truth that had been always an undertone finally becoming an overtone. “Shit, I need to leave him, huh?”
Jeremy just nods, his thumb gently gliding across your hand, forming patterns, circles, and calming figures.
“How am I gonna do that? I’m sorry for like, talking about it. It just hits me sometimes.” Your eyes had broken the moment by now, again staring unambitiously at the world around you.
“You know him better than I do, but if you need my help, I’m prepared to do anything to offer it.
You nod before smiling at Jeremy once again. This time, you use your other hand to prop yourself up, turning yourself towards him. He wordlessly offers his other hand to help you, but you wave it away, almost creating a secret language between the two of you, enjoying the silence, the little stress of the moment. Another minute passes, and there’s an urge that soars in Jeremy’s chest. He knows it’s a bad urge, it’s something that should be suppressed, but he can see the same thing in you. There’s a second, a confirmation, before both of you begin to lean in, your other hand working as a kickstand while Jeremy squeezes your hand, slowly almost pulling you into him, into comfort, into something you both seemed to want. You smile widely as he follows your actions, excitement bubbling up and out of him as chuckles leave both of your mouths. It’s almost awkward, but it isn’t. The laughter makes it better, ringing out the rush of leaning in to kiss someone you like spending time with, someone you’d do anything for, someone who makes your life better, someone who keeps you grounded in every small and large gesture. The laughter rings out and circles around you two, finally getting close enough where Jeremy is about to speak, about to make sure this is okay, that you’re as comfortable as he is, that you want this as much as he does. He can see your hand out of the corner of his eye, a constant reminder to be gentle; you’re still injured, maybe you’d need his help once you two finally get to the end goal of this urge. Inhale. He opens his mouth for a second, ready to ask that one necessary question—
When your phone vibrates instead. He continues to hold you hand as you check your phone, both of you already knowing who the text is from, both of you knowing that this meeting is officially probably over. You sigh and lock your phone, still no reply coming from you. There’s a second that you squeeze his hand extra hard before you say something maybe not so surprising to him. “I wish I could stay here forever.”
“Yeah. Me too.”
You stop for a second before looking back at Jeremy, “Do you think I could cancel, or would that be shitty of me?”
Jeremy contemplates the choices. Cancelling like this could be dangerous, no matter how good the upswing. As much as he wants to spend the night with you, holding you and keeping you safe for sure, making sure you’re getting rest, fluids, and following every doctor’s orders, you need to be there. For your safety. “As much as I want to stay here with you, maybe?”
“Yeah, I guess,” you give a sad smile before continuing, “So, I should go. I mean, I’m supposed to be there now, but I don’t know, I lose track of time talking to you, I guess.”
He nods, unsure of how exactly to respond to that, before you give a little smile at him, this one brighter, genuine, the one he craves even in the deepest sleep. You let go of his hand, grabbing your bag and slinging it over yourself carefully. Your hand grabs his blue sweater, and you give it to him, folded nicely. Jeremy can’t help but put it on, it smells like you, brings sweet reminders of all-too-good moments that you no less than deserved. You blush, and he returns it, wordlessly telling each other how important that one article of clothing is. Placing your hands beside yourself, you get ready to stand up and be on your way.
Making a bold choice, Jeremy decides to help you up, standing before you with his arms stretched out, blue sweater reaching his wrists perfectly, delicately. You grab his hands, and he acts as a stabilizer, tugging you up as well as out of the seat. There’s a moment of equilibrium before you almost crash into him. He moves his hands by instinct so they wrap around you, holding you up against him, giggles coming from both of you as the action is done. The both of you get stable after a second, the giggles fading as you two realize your faces are inches apart from one another.
Jeremy looks at you, making sure you’re okay; you’re not usually this quiet. What he sees etched into your features is a look he hasn’t seen before. It’s like your committing every aspect of this moment to memory, every curve of his face, the way he blushes (which he was sure he was doing), the way that the conversation went, every noise, every time the clapping leaves made themselves known, the depleting of the golden hour, every hue that is basked around you two, every little thing about every little moment—even the one that was fading away. At least, that’s what Jeremy can assume you’re doing; that’s what he’s doing. But this look is something new, newer light inside of you making itself known like in a Pre-Raphaelite painting, eyes looking directly at him rather than somewhere in the distance. The best word he could come up with to describe the way you’re looking at him was wonder. You’re looking at him in wonder, almost like he’s everything. But that was a lie. You were everything; feeling himself looking at you in the same manner.
He can feel you inhale, body still somewhat against his as he helps you stay afloat. Your lips barely part, a simple request making its way into reality. “Jeremy, can I kiss your cheek?”
“Uhh…what?” Jeremy asks, still processing everything, still encrypting everything into memory. He finally catches up, face flushing red, “Oh uhh yeah.”
You smile at him, and he can feel that smile imprint onto his face, soft lips set his whole body aflame, passion keeping his face completely red, your touch still lingering on his cheek. You pull away and readjust so you’re just holding both of his hands like you once had. You begin to walk towards the steps, hands slipping out so you can grab the railing and make your way away. You aren’t that far away, maybe a foot if he was generous with scaling, before he catches himself, mind reeling still from the simple gesture you’d given him. “Wait,” he starts, before his brain finally catches up. “Can I kiss your forehead?”
Smiling, you nod and give a little “Yeah, of course.” His face breaks out into a wide smile; stepping closer to you and making sure that both of you are stable before he presses his smile against your forehead, giving a soft kiss to it as he can practically hear your smile as he pulls away. Everything is still for a split second before reality hits both of you once again, twilight quickly turning into night.
“I have to go.” Jeremy can hear the sadness in your voice as you rearrange once again, this time to walk down the stairs. Your gaze returns to what it once was, eyes almost glass as you look into the distance.
You two descended the three steps, you leaning against Jeremy the entire time. The moment you two reach the bottom, your arm extends as you walk away, hand slipping away from his in an almost sinisterly slow way. The touch is gone, the moments deceased to memory, as you stepped off, away, and back to your car that must have parked in a spot close enough that you didn’t need help walking back. It probably wouldn’t look great either if he was helping you that much, knowing that you were already late and if someone reported to your boyfriend that you were in his arms that would be just as bad as cancelling on him last second.
He watches you walk away, off into the distance before realizing how creepy that probably is. Jeremy grabs his keys from his pocket, phone still situated where it had been before. He walks carefully back to his car, hoping, wishing, that this is the last date you’ll ever be on with your boyfriend.

Title: Eye of the Beholder Genre: Drama/Slight Horror Word Count:1616 Warnings: Death, Murder, Paranormal Phenomena, Police Mention, Delusions, Lying (If I missed anything, let me know!)
...
She stared out the skylight at the dark nothingness of the sky, smiling. She wondered what it would be like to live in the sky among the many stars. Would it be overwhelming or comforting? She would be considered beautiful since she would be a bright star, but that would be pointless really. She lived out in the middle of nowhere and was content with it. She never felt the bitter feeling of loneliness since she lived with her husband.
A husband she fell in love with since he ever muttered the first “hello” her way. He made her feel like a queen, with gorgeous jewels, perfumes, and unconditional love. She was devoted to him as much as he was devoted to her. He was not the most handsome man, in fact, she always complimented herself thinking his beauty was “in the eye of the beholder”. She closed her eyes and a tear fell down her cheek as she remembered the wonderful memories the two of them shared.
She walked over to her friend, a red-headed young lady, the wildest one among them. “Lindsey, what’s the point of this party again?”
“To celebrate my boss’s birthday.” She rolled her eyes at the thought of her loud-mouthed boss. “Trust me, I don’t want to be here as much as you do, but you owned me since that ice cream incident, Kendra.”
The two were at a formal event, full of cocktail dresses and cheap, gross cocktail beverages to accompany the snooty female coworkers. The two friends wore cocktail dresses as well, Lindsey wearing a fiery red one with her long, curled red hair trailing down to her waist while Kendra wore a soft green one with her black hair in a neat, perfect bun. The colors matched their personalities well, as aforementioned, Lindsey was the wilder one of the two and enjoyed going to wild parties, while Kendra was a lot calmer and would rather stay home and watch sappy chick flicks.
Kendra loved Lindsey as a sister. Lindsey had the power to lead Kendra to go out and do fun things, even if Kendra wasn’t into it, but the redhead had her way of making anything seemingly boring to an enjoyable experience. However, this birthday “party” had to be the only exception to that statement.
“I know, I know.” She waved a dismissing hand. “I would’ve come either way. Can we leave soon? I hate to say it, but there’s no way you or anyone could make this so-called party fun, and you’re the funniest person I know.”
“We can go now, I made an appearance, that’s all I had to do.” Lindsey hooked arms with Kendra. “Let’s go get some actual, good margaritas in our systems.”
She laughed. “Sounds like a plan.”
The two began to walk out, but a tall man caught Kendra’s eye.
“Whoa, wait.” She stopped, causing her friend to stop walking as well. “Who is that?”
“What guy?” The redhead asked.
“That tall guy with the brown hair,” she answered.
“Jeremey?” Lindsey saw who she was talking about now. “He’s a new guy. I haven’t talked to him that much, but, from the few encounters I’ve had, he’s a nice guy I guess.”
“He’s very attractive.” She continued to stare at him.
“Girl, you are drooling.” Lindsey raised an eyebrow.
“Oh, crap!” She wiped away the saliva that dripped from her mouth.
“Do you want to talk to him?”
“You’re gonna have to help me,” Kendra replied.
“Fine by me.”
Jeremy and Kendra, after a few months of dating, decided to elope. They didn’t care about anyone else at the time, only about each other. Kendra dropped all her family and friends, especially Lindsey. Lindsey hated the relationship since the beginning, claiming that Kendra was living a fallacy.
She inevitably got tired of the constant “warnings” of her so-called best friend and her family. So she got rid of her phone, she wouldn’t need them, all she needed was her darling husband.
Soon enough, the couple bought a nice house in the woods, in seclusion, away from the rest of the world. They didn’t need anyone else, just each other. They were content in their little world, but the world wanted to invade one last time.
Knock! Knock!
The soft knock felt like thunder to the couple inside the house. Did someone get lost in the woods and needed help? Wouldn’t have been the first time.
“I’ll get it.” Kendra smiled at her husband as he snuck off to the other room.
She cautiously opened the door, prepared to fight if need be. The door creaked loudly, she really did have to fix that. “Lindsey?”
“Kendra, hey,” she greeted, somewhat remorsefully. “How are you?”
“I’m… fine,” she replied. “What are you doing here?”
“I…” the redhead sighed. “Your family misses you, I miss you.”
“If you’re coming to warn me again then I don’t care.” She tried to shut the door, but Lindsey stopped it with her hand.
“I didn’t come to warn you about anything,” she lied. “I just want to be your friend again.”
Kendra hesitated, but let her in, leading her to the living room sofa.
“You have a very beautiful home,” Lindsey complimented.
“Thank you, my husband and I have good taste,” she chuckled.
There was a pause. Lindsey glanced at her tiny, silver wrist watch, it has only been two minutes and it felt like she had been there for hours.
“I’m sorry for the stuff I’ve said about you and… uh…” Lindsey half-apologized.
“Husband.” She finished her sentence for her. “It’s fine, I guess. I didn’t react that well either.”
“I probably would’ve reacted the same way,” the redhead shrugged. “Where is Jeremey, anyway?”
“Oh he’s in the bathroom I think,” Kendra answered. “Jeremey, come here! We have a guest!”
The tall man walked out of the room he was in. Lindsey scowled and shook her there. “I tried, but it’s still pointless.”
“Excuse me?!” Black haired lady exclaimed.
“THIS!” She gestured towards her ex-friend. “This is the problem here!”
“What problem?! I just called my husband out here!”
“No, you didn’t!”
“What are you talking about?! He’s right here!”
“No, he isn’t! He died in a car accident after the party!”
There was a pause, Kendra tightened her fist by her side. “Give me evidence.”
“Gladly!” Lindsey opened the front pocket of her red purse and pulled out a newspaper clipping. “Here!”
The black-haired young woman snatched the clipping and quickly scanned it. Her face turned from anger and scorn to a sad, bitter realization. “Then who gave me all those wonderful gifts?”
“Those were gifts from me and a few other people to try to make you feel better. Little did I know, you would take it like this.”
“Then all the dates and kisses we had,” she paused. “That was a dream?”
“As far as I know, yes,” she looked at her friend with sorrow and sincerity. “I’m really sorry, I tried to tell you, but it was like you were in a different world. If you want more evidence, look beside you.”
There was nothing there.
Kendra ran into her master bathroom, locking the door behind her. Lindsey tried to open the door, then began hitting it. “Kendra! Open the door!”
Kendra remained silent and continued to search the bathroom for a razor blade, she had enough, nothing was real, no one was real! She couldn’t trust anyone! She hated this and herself for being so naive and foolish. It was time for it to all end like it should’ve done so long ago.
“Kendra,” a male voice echoed through the room, causing the black-haired girl to turn around.
“Who’s there?” She couldn’t even hear Lindsey’s shouting anymore.
“Kendra” the voice repeated, a bit louder this time.
“… Jeremey?” She called back.
A dark figure slowly faded into existence right in front of her, forming into the shape of a tall man. To Kendra, it didn’t threaten her, instead, it felt comforting. The figure stepped toward her as she stood there, accepting it, her arms wide open so she could finally hold her lost love finally. “Kendra.”
The figure grabbed her neck, the comforting feeling going away as Kendra scratched at his hands to get them off. “J-Jeremy!” She choked out as they fell to the floor.
Lindsey already called the police after banging on the door for a few seconds, she wasn’t taking a chance, but continued slamming herself against the door, trying to knock it down. “Dammit!” She cried as she stepped back for a moment before taking a running start and slamming the door again. It didn’t budge at all.
“How in the h-?”
“Police! Open the door!” A man called from the other side of the front door.
Lindsey ran over to the door and opened it. “The bathroom is right over there!”
The police ran over to the direction she was pointing to.
They tried to bust down the door, but, again, it would not budge.
...
She stared out the skylight of her bathroom ceiling at the dark nothingness of the late night sky, smiling. The stars were not there anymore just like her internal lie. Her love had betrayed her with his demon, for he was angry and tired of her façade. Her smile faded away into a frown as the police took out the door finally but too late. The demon went away as her life did. She would no longer cry or laugh with her “husband”. She realized too late that his beauty was not in the eye of the beholder, but the facade was in the eye of the liar.

I watched the Assassin’s Creed movie a few weeks ago, on the 25th/26th of June, so the day before and of my birthday lol.
It was, about what I expected as it had a lot of bad reviews.
What I personally didn’t like about it was that he barely spent any time in the animus exploring the old times, like in the games. In the games I barely come out of it when playing, it’s so expansive and gorgeous to look at. The scenes in the past were gorgeous to look at and exciting, but there wasn’t much explained about his ancestor, we didn’t gain the vast amount/wealth of knowledge learnt about him like in the games, but of course it’s very much condensed due to time constraints. I just wish he had spent 80% of the time in the animus of the movie and learning more about the ancestor he had. It just seemed like he’d sudden;y jump back in and be back to doing something. I thought it made the movie feel kind of disjointed honestly. It was just weird.
And most of the stuff that happened in the real world was boring and wasn’t really necessary to the plot at all. At least I didn’t think so tbh.
So, down to these things I found it quite boring as it was mostly him in the facility.
It wasn’t as fun and exhilarating as the videogames. It just fell flat. It could have been so much better. I really wish they had just made one of the games in to a movie, I guess they didn’t so the huge fans wouldn’t be disappointed if they wrecked the story of their favourite character and so new fans could jump in without knowing the games. But at the same time I wish they had made one about Ezio, they could’ve made a trilogy of movies about him based on the three games in which he featured and they could have been great. I think Francois Arnaud from The Borgias, aka Jeremy Irons ex screen family could have been a great Ezio. I also think he would’ve been great in this movie in place of Michael Fassbender. It would’ve also been great to see a mini The Borgias reunion.
I don’t know, I felt like Michael Fassbender although usually a great actor, I have loved him since he was in the show Hex in 2006 before he was in movies, didn’t really give his best in this. It felt like he was phoning it in, like there wasn’t much emotion from him in it or something. Like he was just going through the motions. It made me wish someone else maybe was cast but then again, that still wouldn’t have saved the movie, the script was bad and should’ve been scrapped and redone I think. I also usually understand his accent more, has his accent got stronger in the past few years? I think it has. I don’t remember his accent being so strong in Hex back in the day. But I couldn’t even understand some of the things he said in this. I had to use subtitles on a few occasions.
I used to be hella attracted to him too but now, or at least in this I wasn’t so much. I don’t mind lines, I still like Dominic West ... I dunno, maybe I just don’t think the weathered look suits Fassbender as much. Maybe it’s just me.
I think the two best people in this were Jeremy Irons as the bad guy as usual, the Templar who wanted to the rule the world with the apple of Eden, or destroy it whatever ... I don’t remember it being able to take away free will in the games like they said I think in the movie. But he was so underused in it! He should have been in it far more, scheming more. He stole every scene he was in.
Speaking of scene stealers - the other one was Michael K Williams from The Wire. Those two have the gravitas and weight of fine theatre actors.
I can’t see that they’d make a sequel, if they do it’ll probably be the sequel no one wanted. Not that that hasn’t happened before. But like most videogame movies it was a let down. I preferred Prince of Persia, that was much better and never got a sequel. Not many every got sequels except like Tomb Raider and Resident Evil (Which I saw The Final Chapter of last week and will blog about, it was better than this though).
It’s quite forgettable though as far as movies go, which is a shame as what started off as a fantastic videogame franchise (although has waned as of late and I haven’t even completed the last one and may not due to not liking the gameplay) and was my favourite franchise and still is one of my favourites along with Uncharted, it deserved much better movie treatment. I think like Uncharted they should stop making them. Uncharted had 4 fantastic games and went out on a high, I kind of wish Assassin’s Creed had ended after the second one, well all the Ezio ones, or maybe after 4 and let it go. Now it’s kind of flogging a dead horse for the sake of money and I’ve been through all but the last and loved up to about the 4th one then my love started to wane but I carried on but now don’t think I can make it through the last one. Yet in 2008 I adored it and even a few years ago, but now even though I was such a huge fan and still kind of am, I can admit that it’s no longer as good as it once was. I wish so much it was, but sadly due to how quickly they’ve made them they haven’t been as good. They should’ve made one every 3 years or so and made less and it would probably still be a good and fresh franchise now. Ubisoft are just too greedy for their own good I think, and they do it with many games. They should focus on making more of a variety of new games really, instead of relying so heavily on their core franchises. It just sucks.

How Far I’ll Go Chapter 6
Tumblr media
Title: How Far I’ll Go Chapter: 6/? Pairing: No Pairing Rating: T/M Fic Summary: Evie, an orphan with no memories of her past, has felt drawn to the ocean ever since she was born. Austin, former frontman of Mice & Men, a man born with the ocean in his veins. Evie cannot remember her parents, but she knows they must be out there. Austin lost his daughter 12 years ago and he’s been searching for her. What happens when fate throws these together again? Will Evie finally find where she’s meant to be?
Unfortunately, the DNA results didn’t come in until the last week of Warped Tour. It was sitting on the counter of the bus when we got back from the show.
My heart stopped when I saw the little white envelope that could end my entire world. Evie and I had been calling, texting, and Facetiming like mad for the past few weeks as I tried to get to know my daughter again. I had also been in contact with Jenny every day, asking her questions about Evie. I opened the letter, the other guys watching me closely. I read the results and collapsed onto the couch.
“What? What’s wrong?” Alan asked, grabbing the letter from me. “Austin Carlile is NOT EXCLUDED as the biological father of Evelyn Miller. Holy shit…”
I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.
“This means…” Tino said.
“She’s mine. It’s Evie. I’ve got my Little Mermaid back”, I said. I pulled out my phone and immediately called Evie.
“Hey Austin”, she said.
“Can you FaceTime?”
Her contact popped up on the screen.
I clicked ‘accept’ and her face popped up.
“Austin, what’s wrong? Have you been crying?”
“You know…you can call me dad”.
Her eyes filled with tears. “Oh my god!” she gasped, “It’s you!”
“Yeah, Baby Girl. It’s me. I’ll be home soon, okay?”
“Okay! I love you!”
I smiled and said, “I love you too, Evie”.
She blew me a kiss and hung up.
I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. I finally had her back.
A week later I stood on the doorstep of the house that housed my future. I knocked on the door and quickly straightened my leather jacket.
Jenny answered the door. “Austin!” she said, “Come in! KIDS! AUSTIN IS HERE!”
I heard the thunder of footsteps.
The two youngest, Violet and Brennen came running up to me first.
Violet hugged my legs as Brennen inspected my hands for new tattoos. I laughed.
Jenny coaxed the little ones into their playroom so the older kids could have their chance to say hello.
Marcus was next. “Look at what I got for my birthday!” he said, shoving his skateboard in my face.
“Um…cool”, I said.
“Will you teach me?” he asked me, his wide blue eyes staring at me.
I had never been into skateboarding as a kid; I was sportier.
“Mark, I told you I’d show you how to do that later”, Jeremy told him, entering the room, “Give the guy some space”. He walked up to me and I pulled out a bag of picks. “One from every band and signed as promised”, I said handing the bag to Jeremy.
“Dude, you are the coolest guy ever!” he said.
Rose stepped forward next and I hugged her. “Why didn’t you bring the ginger princess like I asked for?” she asked him.
I smirked as Rose’s phone started ringing.
She pulled out her phone and screamed. “Oh my god! Hi Alan!”
“Hey there, Rosie. Can’t wait to see you again! Do you like cats?”
Rose giggled and ran back up to her room.
I was suddenly thrown backward by a small body colliding with mine.
“I missed you!” Evie squealed.
“I’ve missed you too, My Little Mermaid”, I told her.
She stepped back.
“You are so beautiful”, I told her, brushing some hair behind her ear, “Damn I did a good job”.
She laughed and shoved me.
“Are you staying for dinner?” Jenny asked.
I cleared my throat and said, “I was actually hoping to take you out…to thank you”.
Jenny blushed. “Ummm…I guess that would be fine”, she said, “Evie, you and Rose are in charge”. Jenny grabbed her jacket and I led her out to my rental car. “Thank me for what?”  Jenny asked.
“For being there for her when her mother and I weren’t”, I told her.
“I know you would have been there for her if you could. Evie knows that. She always knew you were out there searching for her”, Jenny told me.
That made me feel a little bit better.
Dinner was pleasant and I found the more time I spent with Jenny, the more I liked her.
It wasn’t just the fact that she was my daughter’s foster mother, but she was an overall good person. She was sweet, but had a sarcastic and witty sense of humor.
I could see why Evie liked her so much. “So…have you ever thought about adopting them?” I asked her as we drove back.
“The little ones, yes. But the older ones…most of them are about to age out of the system anyway. Plus I hold onto the hope that someday, their parents will come to their senses and realize how amazing their children are”, she said.
I smiled.
She really was something else.
When we arrived back at the house, I walked Jenny to the door.
“I had a great time tonight”, she said.
“Yeah, me too”, I told her. I looked off to the side and noticed we were being watched. “Seems we have some little spies”, I told her.
“I feel like Simba and Nala”, she said.
I smiled at the Disney reference. “Except they didn’t know they were being watched”, I told her, “Goodnight Jenny”.
“Goodnight Austin”, she said.
I leaned forward and placed a kiss on her forehead, not wanting to kiss her in front of the kids.
But Jenny had other plans. As I pulled away, she placed her hand on the back of my neck, drawing me down for a kiss.
I could hear giggles and high pitched screeching as we kissed.
