in a sense, yes, Fakey is able to gain weight! the way he works is different though: everything that gets eaten/absorbed is directly converted into more of the Goop that makes up his body. so say, a 5 pound chicken, that amounts to 5 pounds worth of Goop added to him. (minus potential things that can't be absorbed, such as bones.)

but here's where it gets interesting; since everything's getting absorbed in the "stomach" area, it leads to all new Goop being formed there, and it only moves to the rest of his body if he allows it to. this can lead to problems, though... if for instance, Fakey were to go out on a day of binge-eating, he'd end up quite bloated unless he's got the strength to properly distribute his new mass. and considering most of the time when he's eaten a lot he ends up sluggish and tired... he usually ends up staying like that for a bit.

... but hey! at least after a bit he'll be able to turn back to normal, once his body burns all that excess new weight off.

however...... on the off-chance that he DOES have the strength to shift that weight properly throughout his body, well, that's a different story. either because he wants to eat more and not feel bloated, or just doesn't want to lie around all day... it's a lot rarer than the former case, but if it DOES happen...

it's a slightly, erm... big problem.

i want to see more terrible mindflayer OCs, but canon evil mindflayer ocs, not just some half baked "this is the bad guy i used in my dnd game, he uuuh, can enthrall you". I want to see Abysmal Creed Illithid! I want the tormentors and torturers without a shred of empathy and who only form bonds with others of their kind out of convenience! Enthrallment is so surface level! Illithid can be and are so much worse! I'm all for good illithid but BG3 has 1) given us no lore about them at all and has shown that no one knows jack shit about them, and 2) has woobiefied/watered down the FUCK out of their species. their society sucks and illithid are a product of that! Canonically they can be any alignment but tend to be evil due to their society. Illithid have a growing up phase of 20-21 years and learn from their environment just as we do! Im kinda getting bored of "illithid is a victim of their elderbrain" I want to see a squid that revels in agony all on their own!! 99% of people who have any concept of Illithid think they only eat brains! They don't! they eat the whole person, their favorite parts are the organs and they eat them raw and who knows if they even kill the guy first!!!! Make Some Evil Squid Bitches! The day started pretty uneventfully, with a visit from Euclid's baby brother Fabio Vasquez signalling that it was time to build a new dinosaur museum. Hey, no arguments here. Dinosaur museums are kickass.

Vasquez–who is a bug person, for some reason–was immediately pulled aside by his big sister to organise a hit on the guy who thought it was a good idea to send a marriage proposal to the psychopathic gay genie who is part of a cannibal cult.

We were going to turn these refugees away since we're only just getting back on our feet after our hasty relocation to Loyalty's Meander, but then some mechanoids attacked, and we decided we could use the cannon fodder help.

The refugees conveniently entered the map close to where the biggest group of mechanoids had landed and did a very decent job of distracting them for all of two seconds...

Before the refugees were all downed, the yttakin among them had the chance to use his animal warcall ability on a nearby megasloth. The megasloth lasted much longer against the mechanoids than the refugees did but was eventually downed.

Then, finally, the mechanoids stumbled into the trade caravan that Euclid's brother had come with (you can see Vasquez on the far left in the screenshot), and that, at last, was enough to destroy them.

And then, someone rescued one of the downed refugee children (without my permission, I might add), and it's Adrián's daughter!!! Adrián who made me laugh so hard I cried back in Monster's Basin!!! It's a small Rim.

For that reason alone, she will be tended to and allowed to live to choose how she proceeds in life without her other refugee companions.

I am going to have such a great time during a terrifying presidency that will directly imminently negatively effect my life while being stuck living in a house that actively contributed to this nightmare happening and having little ability to engage with any sort of means of comfort without the sounds of constant horrid sentences coming from the living room TV in the background oh boy oh great how wonderful.

Alright alright alright! Speedrun time so I can finish this run, finish the Act 3 write up, and start posting the Shadowheart origin fic. Did quite a bit all in one day, so let's gooooo.

Went to the sewers and found Nine Fingers Keene, someone on my list of NPC's who absolutely should be kissable but isn't cause Larian is full of cowards!

Went to the bank and found this guy.

Followed his stench right on back to the sewers. But unfortunately Jaheira got, *cough*, left behind at Moonrise so Minsc also got, uuuhhhhhh, left behind.

Unfortunately, a civil war broke out between the Guild and the Zhent. Sided with the Guild cause, who wouldn’t. Although, Minthara had some ideas about what to do with the undesirables once we take over the city. Always the little schemer she is.

Met some weirdos!

Met a pirate who had quite a thing for Minthara. I mean, "Captain Grizzly" was laying down that rizz HARD. But, can we blame her?

Killed Lora and returned to the Captain. Surprise, it's Ethel! Don't care, gimme my money. Also got an ally with a very useful skill for the most annoying fight later. *Minthara approves*.

Shadowheart went home and met her mother. Poor girl was boutta cry! Also had some pretty triggering memories while going through the cloister.

It has been so long since I've made Shadowheart go down the Selunite path that I forgot how much of a pain in the ass the House of Grief fight was. I wanted to rip my skin off the entire time! I spent thirty minutes watching Minthara and Shadowheart get blinded over and over and then have their asses beat. I actually had to go pull out the hirelings. Holy shit, I fucking hate the Sharrans! If you ever need a good reason to have Shadowheart go down the DJ path, this bullshit of a lineup is a good damn reason!

Viconia, on the ground, begging for mercy. Shadowheart did not care what happened and wanted Viconia to embrace loss. Minthara said "fuck your mother and fuck your mercy" and killed Shadowheart's mother. Gah, what a romantic she is!

I HATE SHAR! I HATE SHAR SO DAMN MUCH! FORGET THE DEAD THREE, LARIAN, LEMME KILL SHAR! THERE ARE VERY FEW THINGS I CONSIDER TO BE TRULY EVIL AND SHAR IS MOST DEFINITELY ONE OF THEM!

What a whirlwind of a day. Fought in a civil war between thieves, ran into some old enemies, and Shadowheart went through one of the most traumatizing things in her life and killed every parental figure she’s ever had in a span of ten minutes! But, that’s okay. Minthara made her feel all better. After all, killing your parents is a rite of passage.
