well it's not confirmed in the sense that there's any official statement been made - from the actors or anyone else involved - but likewise neither were mentioned amongst the other actors who are reprising their roles :/

seems like a slim hope atp, but maybe they are just withholding their names for some silly reason

Absolutely, bless you for wanting to know XD It's a horribly overdue fic from a charity auction that's for a thankfully incredibly kind and patient AE fan of old.

It's an outsider (Ari) pov piece, basically 5 times AE were obviously deeply connected but doing fuck all about it, and 1 time they finally get their shit together ;) parts 1 and 2 were roughly 5kish each so it's getting a bit away from me 😅 but I can live with that lol I've managed to use a bunch of my old AE plotbunnies in this fic so I'm really excited to write each part, but particularly the bit - 3 of 5 - I'm currently on with a prickly, mentally de-aged Eames, all of 17 year's old again with no idea who any of them are but already besotted with Arthur XD

This bit is purely because of THIS pic *adds* of young THardy because when I saw it back in my AE heyday lol I was fixated on the idea of the team dealing with 17 year old Eames in his 33 year old body, heading into a dream and being confronted with *gestures emphatically at picture* that lol and having to restore him despite how much they all kind of secretly want to keep the puppy version ;)

I'm catsitting for 2 weeks approx and plan to write my face off with no one to please but myself lol so I hope to be able to share it soon... though that would be me jinxing myself right there ;) hope it sounds like fun to you as much as it feels to write it lol thanks so much for asking! ❤

Yeah the new tardis was really interesting, my nana seemed to like it.

I figured it out btw, my mom couldn't physically have anymore kids bc of the toll I took her body, so eventually she started maladaptive daydreaming about having more kids and even telling me I ruined her life. So in my teen years I was constantly being told that even though they would never be born, these hypothetical siblings were better and more deserving of mom's love than me. Hence the way I reacted to seeing the bluey episode about favoritism.

Imagine taking care of Tom when he’s sick. He must have caught something on his flight home from filming, and feels terrible he ruined all the fun things he had planned with you. Of course you wish he felt better, but you really don’t mind how things turned out. Cuddling him in bed, making him tea when his throat gets sore - it all makes you feel like he really needs you.

I actually didn't know that about the word changing, only the Cobb to Eames switch, but when you consider that he wanted THardy for Eames because he liked his turn as Handsome Bob (integral character who actually brings the plot together when all around him is going to shit, known to be dependable, badass, smooth, scary, and gay as blazes) and the way JGL reshaped Arthur to suit what he felt he should be like as Point Man (style AND substance, thank you very much, no schlub allowed), it's no wonder that he was, as @mister-eames says, captivated by their chemistry and then essentially changed his story to include theirs.

im in SHAMBLES cause i always knew that the original security is gonna run you down line was between Arthur and Dom but was given to A/E later but only now I got to know that it was not “be back before the kick” in the original script but actually “be back in time for the kick” from Dom!! Be back in in time for the kick is not asking to be safe it’s actually a command or a direction; and it’s further cemented by Arthur’s reply in script; it’s “I’m on it” .. it matches their dynamic from the beginning, professional with cobb sort of calling the shots. But when mr Nolan gave it to A/E he had to change it?? Cause it doesn’t match this married couple??? So he made it be back BEFORE the kick with a thinly veiled “ BE SAFE BABE”???? And GO TO SLEEP MR EAMES ?? Meaning don’t worry about me darling I’ll be there???!!!!!! My head hurts??????

It still blows my mind how it was originally Arthur and Cobb having this moment in the script and Nolan, presumably like us, was captivated by the chemistry and quiet story of Arthur and Eames, and changed the characters around! It's a perfect bookend to their snarky beginnings, to the shot of them planning the job, you know the one, where it focuses on Arthur and Eames for "...we all yearn for reconciliation..." to this exchange. Nolan knew it was necessary, in case the audience was wondering, Arthur and Eames got their reconciliation. That we got to see them full circle.

Because the way it was scripted with Cobb was between friends/comrades. Arthur reaffirming to Cobb he can be trusted, that he's got his back despite what occurred and was revealed the level above. Lovely. But so much about Cobb and Arthur's friendship is not said in so many words. It really wasn't necessary. It didn't lend any sort of closure to the characters journey's to have this scene play out, it just didn't make sense.

The fact that the script had to change along with their characters so that Arthur and Eames could flirt and smile at each other and 'be back before the kick', and 'uh-huh go to sleep' like COME ON. It's the contrast from all their other scenes - the banter and teasing, Eames laughing at Arthur's kick tests - this scene was so gentle, so soft and so quiet. In the same way Eames didn't need to help Arthur with the projections in level one, Arthur did not have to help Eames with his cannula. He didn't need to flick Eames fingers away and help him above anyone else. Arthur very much chose to help out so they could have these sweet nothings this quiet talk.

Every time someone tries to reduce Arthur/Eames down to 'darling' I feel like the Will Smith meme pointing at all the rest of it. Like, are we all not seeing this?? It kills me. This scene kills me -- it's so important to their relationship and themselves as individual characters,
