Steve had had maybe… four beers, maximum, maybe one little fruity cocktail, and a shot of something that tasted like apple but that was it.

He wasnt even thirty yet and already his alcohol tolerance had gone to shit.

It was new year’s though! They’d hit the big Nine-O! The kids were allowed to be there, to celebrate with them as adults! They’d made it to ADULTHOOD, They’d, against literally all odds, survived the eighties and all the horrors that came with them.He was allowed to get a little white girl wasted in his and Robin’s apartment.

He was allowed to be free and silly in his own space surrounded by only his people.

No strangers to be seen in that apartment. Sure there were a few friends of the family, but he knew them, he knew them well enough that they knew him. The new and improved him, not the douchey high school him they once sort of knew. There were no strangers.

The music was loud, the track list riddled with cheesy pop, glam metal, rock, one or two reasonable metal tracks that the CC boys wouldn’t ridicule because Steve had been adamant that he wanted them (Eddie) to enjoy themselves, a few Madonna tracks, Queen, Bowie, plus, Dustin had brought a karaoke machine, in the hopes that Jonathan would capture something stupid on the fancy video camera Hopper got him for Christmas.

Wasted Steve was happy to accommodate as the something stupid.

Happy to be the first person brave enough, or drunk enough, to turn that silly little machine on because he was the only one just drunk enough to not care about embarrassing himself for fun. He was happy to peruse the list of songs Suzie had managed to acquire for it like a wine list at a fine restaurant, feeling excited eyes drawn to him. It was happening. Someone was going for the Karaoke.

Who better than Steve.

Who better than the King?

Who could switch from kegs to karaoke so seamlessly that it felt effortless, Steve. That’s who.

They had a projector screen for the words, but Steve didn’t need them, he’d been humming that damn song under his breath for weeks, having heard it on the radio driving to work. He related to it is all. Having a stupid crush that wouldn’t go away on someone who clearly didn’t seem to feel the same, but he couldn’t get over it.

He didn’t want anyone else.

Who else could say they’d understand the trauma they’d been through? Who else could be woken up in the middle of the night by screaming nightmares and just get it without having to ask? Who could he even talk to without breaking several NDA’s?

That issue alone had lost him a few partners since ’86. Who wanted to be with someone who couldn’t tell them the truth?

He hadn’t gone through a whole goddamn bisexual crisis in ’88 when he REALISED his crush was an actual sexual sort of crush and not a ‘he’s just pretty Robin, it doesn’t have to mean anything!’ appreciation of another man’s ridiculously pretty face. Honestly what the fuck was up with his big doe eyes, his laugh, those lips, he made facial scars look so damn good, and—

The music was starting, he found Eddie’s eyes from across the room and locked on them, laser focus, go big or go broke! Worst case scenario Eddie punched him, he could probably take Eddie in a fight.

Maybe. Eddie was scrappy. But Steve had back up. At least a fight would probably shut his crush up.

“I love myself, I want you to love me When I'm feelin' down, I want you above me—” Jonathan’s camera was ON him.The kids mortified, like they were watching a train wreck in motion, unable to look away. Eddie was just staring at him, wide eyed and flush cheeked. Or was that his usual big ol doe eyed stare and the alcohol hitting his cheeks? Steve was too drunk to know for sure, but he felt seen. He felt warm, full of liquid courage!

“I search myself, I want you to find me I forget myself, I want you to remind me” Eddie wasn’t moving, so Steve, in his infinite white girl wasted wisdom, decided to take a step from centre stage, to cross that distance and hope those pesky bandmates of Eddie’s didn’t get in the way. They didn’t. they moved out of the way actually. Leaving Eddie to gaze up at him from his seat while onlookers stared in amazement.

And maybe a little horror on the kids part, Dustin especially.

Those were his dads. His male role models. His big brothers. His dudes.

One of which was damn near sensually lowering his pretty self down into the other man’s lap, straddling it as if they were the only two people in the room. They were not. Steve didn’t care. “I don't want anybody else, When I think about you, I touch myse—”

“Alrighty that’s enough of that!” And the music was gone. Leaving Steve to awkwardly look over his shoulder at the culprit who’d turned off his thing. Eddie’s hand had landed on his hip to steady him, which was nice. Warm. Big. Grounding. He liked it.

Didn’t mean he was gonna focus on that instead of the culprit. “Dustin you shit! That was my big MOMENT!”

“That was horrifying beyond anything I’ve ever seen in my life, and I’ve seen. Some. Shit. No dry humping our DM at the GROUP New Year’s party! Do that in your own private time! In your own room!” At least he wasn’t saying not to do it. just. Not in public. Got it.

“Boy you have no idea what dry humping is, you’re like twelve.”

“I do TOO!”

“Do not!”

“Do too!!”

Robin chose that moment to turn the normal music back on to drown their bickering out so the party could continue around them. It did. There were no strangers at that party. No matter how surprising Steve Harrington serenading Eddie Munson with a sexy song was, there were no strangers at that party. They were family.

Even the other Corroded Coffin boys were family by association. Nobody would start shit in that apartment.

They’d be outnumbered.

That hand was still on his hip. Squeezing to get his attention back from where Dustin had managed to claim it. Whatever words he’d been yelling in a failed attempt to get over the music dying in his throat when he looked down at the man he was still straddling. He knew that look. Recognised it from days long since passed. Want.

Desire, lust, need, Steve swallowed his own saliva, then licked his lips to dampen the drying skin.

“You touch yourself a lot, Harrington?”

“Mmnhm, I’ve been needing a hand with it actually, you offering, Munson?”

How do characters fall in love with their enemy realistically? Which isn't love at first sight!

And how do idiots characters keep falling and falling into the hellhole sticky situation that is love with your enemy?

Okay so first thing first, just to be clear. I am far from a "writer" so I don't have any experience myself 💀

I'm more of a reader though, to me there's a lot of ways to bring someone to fall in love with their enemy [again, idk much] but if I were to read a book, I'd love to read something like this :

A hates B, like a lot. Literally wants to kill B. B can either hate A back or just playfully hates A back. And then usually there's a third person in the story, someone who sort of breaks the line between good and evil, straight up..all the dark things you could imagine. Twisted, sick, psychopath which I'll call C.

1. C can either wipe everything away which made A and B in a forced proximity (working together to save something) because A is bad but they still have morals/they do the bad things because of a good reason/their ideology. They work together-> becomes close and fall in love

2. C can still be all the above (sick, twisted, psychopath) but add a little bit of ✨charm✨, a little bit of ✨manipulation✨, a truly cunning antagonists suggesting A or B to work with them. Let's say C is working with A now -> B fights two people -> B loses -> C and A wins -> A still wants to kill B but C refuses so C simply turns B into their "pet" or "slave" -> A and C rules the world/anything -> B is not in a good place (tortured? Assaulted? Maybe C has some sick fantasies that A doesn't know of?) -> maybe everyone/some group is looking for B and A hears the rumors -> A scoffs (still hating B) -> A hears that B does something small but good and interesting? Like turns out B would always go to the animal shelter to volunteer or play with the orphanage, charity and what not -> A got a bit piqued of the real "B" Because all A know is the B that B shows to A, the B with ambition and annoyingly good fighting skills and a stubborn righteousness (bcs before this, A never really cared or was interested in B's personal life, just seeing B as an obstacle) -> A gets curious and asks C/finds B themselves -> A finds B -> B is really really down(sad)either dying and what not ->

Now this can either go two way again,

B being so low that they answer anything A asks -> A pities B and becomes soft-> A saves B -> turns out C bad -> A and B defeats C and fell in love in the process.

or ORRR ORRRRR (this is the one I love 😁)

B is dying BUT B is still stubborn and defiant -> A still thinks B is annoying but maybe has a bit of pity and curiosity so A asks B what C did -> ever since B got defeated, B kind of grows a hate for A (and of course, hates C more) but answers anyway...bcs A is forcing B to- -> A shooketh, A was like "holy shit...C did what?", B just stays quiet, not wanting to talk to C and also B is like "yeah, why do you care?" -> A kinds of zips it, but inside, A had a small awakening. Maybe A thought C was someone above, not knowing about this and now is doubting C. -> A goes to find out more while B is still sad and prisoned -> Turns out all B said was true, A's awakening became bigger -> A plots a plan (so this is kind of like evil vs evil but we're trying to make the less evil win) -> maybe B helped? Maybe didn't? Doesn't matter, point is A wins and C is defeated -> A rules now, maybe even sort of owns B in a "you're free to do whatever you want but you're mine (because I saved you) " kind of way/ made a deal with B so now B and A lives peacefully with each other -> BUT THIS TIME B REALLY REALLY REALLY HATES A remembering all the time before C came, A doesn't really care about it -> B kind of stays away from A, ignoring and giving A the cold shoulder -> A becomes annoyed with this attitude and decides to talk about it to B -> they fight, drama, B breaks down, A sighs and is like "..fine, im sorry. I can't stand you ignoring me like this, what do you have in mind?" -> they make a deal -> a bit more freedom for B, maybe B now just works for A with some conditions from B (B doesn't kill or anything) -> they now really do live in peace but still a bit awkward -> B finds someone, a new enemy? A new villain? disguises as a good person. B doesn't know and was leaning to that person's comfort -> A notices and tells B -> B stubborn and defiant -> A is like "fine, do whatever you want" But A had a really bad feeling in their gut, as if they just can't let that happen but acts ignorant on the outside (this, I think I where the romance starts) -> B goes to a date with the person but oh no! A was right all along! Was B going to die? That can't be! B is strong! -> But nope lol, the person turns to be stronger -> A comes out of nowhere (Jk, they've been watching from the bushes) and saves B -> B half heartedly thanked A -> A sighs and was like "look, just let me take care of you alright? You're an idiot and you're too reckless for your own good" -> B is defiant and in denial, "You? I can handle myself. I'm fine" but in the end agrees with A..still half heartedly -> A is in a close proximity with B? B lives with A now? Something like that, now A was soft with B (not in a fluff way) just a normal amount like " I got you food" Or "I got you roses, I heard you like them", or maybe A is in denial themselves thinking they had no feelings for B but A's body is already a machine of self service -> B is shocked but kept themselves from being flattered..because their stubborn, but their heart kind of melted at this point-> something bad happens again, C comes back to live? JKJK this is so unrealistic, maybe a new enemy. Doesn't have to be C, idk -> B's in a life threatening situation -> A saves B and almost dies, giving B their last words -> B was like "no no no, please. I'm sorry. I love you, come back. Come back to me, I'm so sorry" And cried cradling A in their arms-> A shocked, and was like "B loves A?" but they were dying so they just smiled and was going to accept their death -> THEIR LAST KISS????? (Bonus) -> A gods miracle happened / if you want it to be really realistic then maybe A can be saved logically..somehow. -> A and B hugs each other, kiss again bcs why not, happy ending, lives happily ever after with B loving A the fullest and A loving B too but also being so apologetic for trying to kill B in the past, just straight up on their knees worshipping B with love, realizing how much they love B and could even go a bit possessive about B cause they're just naturally selfish. Hhahaha! The end

whats the most underrated character in ACOD

Hmm… I think the acod fandom is a little too small to have ‘underrated’ characters in the way I usually think of, but if we take underrated to mean characters we could have seen more of in canon, I’m going to go with Sheloran I think. I really liked what we saw of her! She’s a fun mix of confident with the skills to back it up while still being fairly lighthearted and easy-going (as opposed to say… Senera, who is all these things but who I’m not convinced has ever chilled out once in her life). In book one she’s just a side character who’s immediately down to help kihrin with his ‘spying’, just for fun and something to do outside of usual royal activities, and then book four reveals that not only have her parents BOTH been god-kings all along, but she also was 100% a crazy powerful spellcaster the entire time who has her eyes on changing the world. I also really like the line in the discord of gods where she expresses a bit of disappointment that she didn’t get chosen to become a herald of one of the eight, but then is like “though actually this probably works out fine, bc in the future Galen and Qown will have immortality and power already guaranteed for them, and we all know I was the most likely to become a god-king before all this. This is just motivation to get there faster.” I love ambitious girls who know exactly how powerful they are <3 Also overall the contrast of how she’s portrayed by both kihrin and Thurvishar in book one vs what we see of her several books later is just… great. Not quite a facade but definitely a very different side of her.

I have so many Simon thoughts and I can’t believe the one to lick them all off was this: but would he draw the line at pork?

Just saw this ask now so apologies if it's been sitting in my inbox for a while!

Quick mention here that I'm not Muslim myself and most of my (limited) knowledge comes from talking with friends irl and the internet

but i believe Simon wouldn't eat pork. I don't think it's something he's ever really tried, especially growing up and living in Dearborn, which has one of the highest Muslim populations in the US, there wouldn't be a super high presence of it (I'm assuming) or social pressures surrounding eating it from his peers, who im assuming are also predominantly Muslim from what we know of his friendships precanon.

To be honest, I think the religiously prohibited substance he'd be most inclined to/likely to have consumed at some point to be alcohol. I mean when we meet Simon, he's fallen on hard times, like he's lost his job and turned to stealing cars and feels like he's let down his family and community, especially at least after the events that follow with him getting the ring the way he did. I'm not saying here that I think he did drink before we meet him in canon, but I think it's more likely to have happened than him eating pork, especially with the social pressures and societal depiction of alcohol the way they are.

Simon and his relationship with religion is something very interesting to me (that I admittedly know very little about) as there definitely seems to be a contradiction in some of his actions, with Simon quoting the Quran at Guy and talking about how much his religion means to him one page, and then of course having a tattoo that also means a lot to him (but is banned by his religion) at the same time. I think this more complex relationship with religion is something very human about Simon as a character, as people and their relationships with religion are oftentimes complicated and not cut and dry. It does make it difficult for his fans though as theres a lot we dont know, as Simon's relationship with religion is one I think could really use more exploration on page, especially in regard to this contradiction and his relationship with the rules of Islam as a whole.

Linda and Lawrence suddenly disappeared one day while on a date (but I will say they're not dead), the kids were home when it happened. And all of a sudden they were going be taken away- but it was also suspicious on how fast these "authorities" came, so Perry, having to give up his cover, took it upon himself to take the kids under his wing and adopt them so they wouldn't be separated and thanks to Doof (he's a good guy who still does inators for fun) for providing evidence that he can take care of the kids, and that Doof himself was raised by ocelots

It's Danville, no one really questions stuff much, so they just let him lmaoo

So the kids (including the gang, cuz they also know too much now) goes into a "OWCA protection" program, much to the dismay of Perry, but the kids needed some training cuz something fishy was going on, and were given assigned agents. Peter The Panda and Perry were off teaching the Flynn-Fletcher kids while the other agents dealt with the others- everything's turning alright. And it goes on after weeks of them all getting to know each other

Turns out Peter had been a snitch the entire time and has doing some shady things for someone in tri-state area, and that knowing and even finding out about this fact greatly upsets Phineas cuz he thought they were all friends and he gets his tooth busted by Peter so he can make a quick getaway and burning down bridges he made

This causes a total shift in Phineas' outgoing personality and snaps. With his parents disappearance and someone he thought was a friend betraying them and him being hurt- everything echoes and weight just piles down upon his shoulders

(The others like Isabella, Buford and Baljeet, weren't at all like the originals in the first place, they molded into their own thing- Buford and Baljeet kinda staying the same in a way??

With Candace and Ferb, they kinda also molded into their own thing, something opposite of their og, but I kinda based Platydad!Phineas on the original, snarky Phineas from the beginning and also gave some of that snark to Ferb as well xD)

welcome to an episode of Bec yells about songs (because I suck with music terminology and theory, I just love music lol)

first of all the small blirp sound at the beginning (which then comes back later) is so clearly Aleksi's trademark and he brought it to Blind Channel's other discography as well (like the Dark Side intro which then repeats later in the background). And right after that we get to Niko's heavy metal growl voice which I absolutely love and he uses it a lot in Timebomb, and we also get drowned by a wall of guitars and bass and drums even though we do get some breaks for breathing, but the heavy metal fan in me just loves this

the drop just before I’m showing off - we get so many big drops and small drops during this song I'm not even counting them, but they make the structure of the song so interesting and intense even if it's the basic ABABCA I think?? Didn't pay that much attention but anyways I love the beat in the mommy, I tried life sorry I wasn't good at it bit and how Niko sways his hips during the live performance to keep up to it <3

and like you said the lyrics are so good, especially more than just alive even if it kills me is just brilliant and beautiful and I know many BC fans who have it as a tattoo and I kinda want it too

That is a GREAT thing to wonder, but unfortunately, I'm very boring in that department, as I've never actually played with mods 😅

Nope, it's always vanilla for me, even after 10+ years of playing the same games (fo3 in particular), I always just go for the barebones. I'm also not sure how I don't get bored or frustrated with them, honestly 😂

I do love hearing about different mods, but I'm not sure if I'll ever end up actually playing with them. But who knows! If I do, I'll definitely update y'all 😊

You know what I can't stop thinking about lately, for Kaito? That in the game, he definitely does not remember his grandparents. Kirumi didn't remember she was prime minister until the motive told her, so Kaito never got a chance to remember them. If the theory that Kaito's parents died in a hit and run is true, and Kaito can't remember his grandparents, does he just remember not growing up with family at all? (I saw your post asking for Danganronpa thoughts in your asks and I like to respond to stuff like that when I see it)

Hmmm very interesting thought, and if this was the case I don’t think my heart could take it 😫

However I know in Kaito’s fte’s he does mention visiting his grandparents during the summer, so that does imply that he has some knowledge of them. Of course, Kaito’s ftes are very wacky and I suppose that does lead to the possibility that wasn’t entirely true, but I doubt that would be something he was lying about.

Regardless, there is definitely a good chance that how he remembers his grandparents isn’t accurate to them at all, which is very tragic indeed, same goes for if that theory about his parents fate is true 😔

It was hard to think about because... there is rare things that Pythus finds embarrassing enough to really remember it as such of course. Still, he is a champion at getting himself into a bad situation though

Starting with crushes, most of them are crushes on people who (can) beat his ass. He's flirted with anyone who is willing to take a swing at him. He's had a few encounters where he read the situation wrong and ended up with some bruises. Like a time a Legionnaire tossed him down on the mat, Pythus thought he had something going there but turns out the Legionnaire brought his whole warband to laugh!

He was putting up his best display of being put on the floor too! Snarling in the man's face, rolling over at just the right times.. He only noticed the warband was there when he was in a rather compromising position.
