okay i already asked about random facts but how about smth more specific: What kind environment does Kyrah prefer? (mountians, sea, wet and overcast, dry heat, ect) You've probably gone into this somewhere but what magic is she worst at?
Kyrahlise is used to the forests around Vale, which I imagine to have generally mild, temperate weather. She does like it there, it's familiar, and she knows that type of forest well. But it's also hard to go back to the areas she grew up in, so she tends to just pass through and tries not to think about what she left behind.
She's spent some time in the Southern Crescent, and ended up adoring it! If she hadn't joined the Shepherds, I could see her settling down in Conte. Mostly because she loooves the heat! Kyrah doesn't handle the cold well. Some say this is because she has a bit of Elvish blood, but she always claims all she got was the ears, lol
Kyrah also loves the mountains, but hates how fucking cold it is. The first time she crossed the Shield Peaks, there was an evening that had a gorgeous sunset. She happened to turn back towards the mountains and saw the glaciers awash in the colors of the sunset and fell in love! Ever sense then she's adored the mountains, and draws and paints them as much as she can when she's nearby. (Now y'all know why she was being so stubborn with Blade in that snippet and still found a way to paint the mountains of The Reach, lol!)
As for magic, Kyrahlise is absolutely the worst at Arcane magic! The thing is, she understands the theory and math behind it, but she can't seem to get it to work in practice. So she can talk to Red and keep up with the conversation. Ask her to actually do any of it and somehow the math and theory just disappear out of her head. It's very frustrating for her, because she's used to being able to stubbornly push through until she's good at something.
By Chapter 9, Kyrah is actually pretty good at Astral magic. It was very much a case of her pushing herself until it clicked. She wanted to broaden her skills, because she relies on her Psionic magic so much and she thought that might bite her in the butt at some point. (Sure enough, having decent Astral magic was a real boon in Chapter 8!)

K: What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?
I think it's either one of these (both are Haikyuu-Pacrim AU):
Jaeger Academy trainees Kageyama and Kindaichi are in the middle of their final Mock-Pod exam when Kindaichi decides he can't tolerate Kageyama's oppressive behaviour towards him anymore. So he just breaks out of their Drift and leaves Kageyama in the sim. Both of them fail. Kindaichi says that maybe all the Drift compatibility assessments were wrong about the two of them. This crushes Kageyama, because he's been lonely for a long time. He's never really been able to make friends, and he thought that the Drift would finally allow him to make the connection he's been longing for.
Two jaeger pilots are in a really tough battle, and it looks very much like they may not win. The dominant pilot is terrified and wants to use the escape pods, but the other refuses to give up. When the kaiju breaches the Conn-Pod, the dominant pilot panics and evacuates in his pod-but then realises the other hasn't. As he leaves the jaeger, he sees his partner looking at him in shock, feeling betrayed. The dominant pilot is rescued from the sea by helicopter pilots, and they fly away as the kaiju destroys the jaeger. None of them know whether or not the other pilot made it...
L: What's the weirdest AU you've ever come up with?
I don't think I've come up with any particularly weird AUs tbh? Maybe my ideas for Maelstrom, but that's not completely mine...

What would happen if you were a writer for TSAMS?
I mean we'll never know unless we try, however-
God the temptation to make jokes about shipping ajfsdkg;ljfasd;l
In all seriousness I'm good at finding and fixing plot holes and writing consistent storylines. I've been writing solo for years, and recently I've been co-writing fics for this fandom. And stars I'll say it now, obviously I wouldn't drag fan ships into the canon lore, that would be stupid considering most of them just wouldn't work with canon.
If I had the chance to write for TSAMS I would definitely try to influence the way certain things (specifically things like mental disorders) are portrayed, because I understand being part of the audience and the frustration of only seeing part of the story and missing an entire important perspective. I personally find so much enjoyment in that because I get to tear everything apart, dissect it, and put it back together so the fandom can understand what the story is portraying, but the fact that someone is required to tear it apart to get what should have been an obvious message most of the time is an issue, in my opinion.
A consistent problem I've noticed with TSAMS is that it's overly omnipotent on some things while being too closed about others. This is a narrative problem that stems from not having enough time to figure out the best approach for new situations they want to incorporate. This is because the writers/VAs are so bogged down by personal projects, stream schedules, their servers, life, etc that they just don't have time to figure these things out. Especially when the company is pushing for more content/lore episodes and they're just a team of four. Four very very busy individuals that have to write AND voice act the entire cast of characters. I feel like having someone who is just a writer would help with a lot of the inconsistency and unresolved plot holes.
There's a lot of strong potential for things that would stem back as far as two years that would be so interesting to see incorporated, but they just don't have the time to work through those and it's easier to keep jumping on new boats and abandoning the ones they have to sink because of unresolved tears in the plot letting more inconsistencies trickle in like so much water. So I would absolutely work to correct those and clean up the holes and resolve unanswered questions.
I'd also push for more consistent characterization, or rather better worded, deeper characterization. Not that they don't have good characterization now, overall I think they do a decent job, but there are just some things that I wish they'd touch on more. Likes, dislikes, disorders, complications, relationships, etc. What really makes up these characters; I'd probably end up with a complicated character web for the main cast at the very least to help with consistent storytelling. I do this with my own AUs to keep characters consistent, including quirks (For example Solar Flare always refers to people by their full name in my writing). It would also be interesting to dig deeper into what makes the characters them. Their personalities, beliefs, interests, morality/standards (for those without morals), and what they did and didn't find traumatic (as well as what level of trauma).
God even just the thought of how I could potentially fix the dumpster fire (/affectionate /positive) of TSAMS and co is a little exciting because there's just so much potential lying around untampered with that I would happily dig my grubby little claws into.

cant believe i forgot about maleficent and her emo boytoy omg thank you for cleansing the timeline🫶
I am so pleased to bless the timeline with a fine vintage ship, come join me in savoring it. I checked out the novelization on a whim (commuting) and I was like, oh right! I forgot this movie and specifically this ship was made in a lab for my brain. So now I've rewatched the film and I'm lost in the sauce.
I love that Maleficent/Diaval is the story of two people accidentally raising a baby into a teenager together and the whole time Maleficent is oblivious (not her fault! she has bigger things going on!) while Diaval is like "that's my wife, she's terrifying. i love her. <3" Even when Aurora meets them properly as a 15 year old, Maleficent is Going Through It™ while Diaval is just so hype to finally introduce himself to his child.
Tumblr media
Pictured above: moments that really did a number on me. He raised this kid and now he gets to finally meet her properly and they're both so delighted by it while Maleficent watches from the corner like }:-(
I really feel like the most beautiful and unique part of it is the genuine backtalk; Diaval might start out subservient and he certainly maintains that position but as time goes on he proves himself perfectly willing to correct or backtalk Maleficent. He basically functions as a reminder of her heart and moral compass while she is recovering from her hurt (and subsequent revenge bender) and it's delightful to watch because you rarely see a position where a male character is so open and honest while the woman gets to have the delicious redemption arc. Maleficent is going through an enemies-to-godfamily relationship arc with Aurora while Diaval is patiently waiting for her to realize he's got heart eyes (AND for her to realize she does actually love Aurora, that's another great element, he realizes this LONG before Maleficent does and tries to gently nudge her over to that revelation). But also this:
Tumblr media
He really said "I am just pretending to be afraid of you; I know you won't hurt me even if you push me around" and he was right. What a lovely thing to be playing out as the B or maybe C-plot. There's enough insane drama happening, it's nice that there's something a little lighter and more steady in the background of the story.
Another thing I was musing on through the book and film -- as much as I adore found family and platonic love, it's nice to see a story where a victim of what is clearly coded as sexual assault and is at least intimate partner violence finds love again. I know Maleficent & Diaval isn't technically 'canon', but again, the film was juggling enough relationship arcs with Maleficent & Aurora and Maleficent & Stefan. It's okay, in my eyes, for the romance element to be subtext, when it's clearly still important and given some narrative space and weight.
Tumblr media
I had a more coherent thought but finally found a gif of just this moment (thank you, @raainstorms, you spoil us all) so instead you get this. I love it. Maleficent really said "go defend our kid who I haven't realized yet is our kid" and Diaval said "understood". Never proposed but nevertheless they've been married for years.
"Who fell first vs. who fell harder" is defunct. "Which one is the evil minion who adopted the baby on sight and who is the Evil Empress who had to slowly realize they love the baby" is the vintage yardstick everything else has to measure up to. I will read 100,000 fanfics of Maleficent only belatedly realizing that somewhere in the process of acquiring her goddaughter she also acquired a husband. Maybe she acquired the husband first, she certainly does not know. Diaval understands this and is okay with it, Aurora probably doesn't understand in the slightest how her godmother did not pick up on anything.
And the sequel! I realized after reading some other posts that I did NOT remember the sequel correctly because my memories are "fairy genocide and also Diaval and Maleficent are co-parenting". Apparently somewhere in there Maleficent is shoved into a love triangle with two men who are not her long-term boytoy/coparent/external moral compass, which is ridiculous, because the film ends with them attending their daughter's wedding in matching outfits.
Tumblr media
If Maleficent 3 (boo hiss at Disney, make something new, cowards) isn't about Aurora parent trapping them I am going to riot in the street.
TL;DR: My roommate described maleval as this post and I have not been able to shake it from my mind because it really, really fits:

imagine some of the main md crew(definition up to you), but they all decide to play just dance.
how to turn a fun game into a competition 101.
oh my gosh.
definitely ALL the crew are playing just dance. Uzi hooks up N and V with it and everyone is just inviting themselves over to play. it’s… a wreck to say the least.
V and J make it a whole ass war trying to one up each other on how fast and hard they can hit these moves. furniture is being broken and N is stressin. Uzi finds it hilarious and doesn’t have it in her to tell them it’s not a competition. she’s living for the chaos.
Lizzy is cheering V on and it pisses J off fs. also lets let Doll be alive soley for the reason of her doing Ra Ra Rasputin and KILLING IT (get it because…. because she’s-)
and thad is just happy to be included

it just clicked for me now that the reason a servamp's eve is called "eve" is probably bc the first servamp is kuro, whose name used to be adam. ITS FUCKING ADAM AND EVE HOW DID I NOT THINK OF THAT
Because it’s so so so obvious you just kind of gloss over it xD same happened to me!
What REALLY made me scream though was realizing that the reason the hedgehog coffee stand in TanakaBox has Frankenstein on its shelf isn’t just because of the whole “building a new being out of corpses” thing. It was also because the monster names himself Adam! So of course the first Servamp, the first new attempt at a “perfect being” would also have carried that name
I’ve been rereading volume 18 recently because it has been A While since I went through some of the chapters (and I wanted to see what was added in the tankobon that wasn’t in the original magazine publication)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Pardon my ever so slightly yellow nails, polish stains and all that)
This sequence was brought to my attention by a friend asking me if the bell could have any meaning and it does! Bells were and are traditionally tolled in order to announce both a death in the village, and to celebrate the birth of a new member of the community. For it to ring here rather than at the end of sloth telling his story is meant to signify that this moment, that Adam’s end, is also the birth of the person who would become “Kuro”
The transition is also quite good for raising the tension and creating a more dramatic atmosphere, don’t you think? Especially since after this, Sloth uses Adam’s coffin as a perch to read out his story
Thanks for the ask! It was fun~

Thank you for speaking out about the Waverly short hair controversy. I kind of dropped out of the fandom a few years ago because I saw fans being transphobic towards Dom and biphobic towards Kat and it really soured the “we’re the most inclusive show with the most inclusive fandom” experience because it’s actually not that inclusive of a show or fandom. So when vengeance was announced I was excited but apprehensive because I knew that there would be comments if Waverly wasn’t exactly the same. I personally think the short hair makes sense for the character, like as you and previous anon said hair does not equate to masculinity or femininity. Not only that but we also haven’t seen the movie and don’t know the context, too many people are ready to jump to conclusions. There are so many reasons why Waverly would have short hair and they would all make sense in context, even Waverly being Non-Binary.
I guess I somehow missed the transphobia, but I remember the biphobia wave well so I may of just blacked it out.
My choice of wording in that post was definitely holding the hands of those who are upset, because I understand that some people hold baby Waves very close to their chest. My personal perception of the character, I completely agree with you anon, it fits Waverly well. Equating to androgyny or not. And just as a note: Simply the thought of NB waves gives me heart palpitations 💀😍
Queer people need to do better as a whole, and this Earper community needs to hold itself to the standard it puts on the show, inclusivity wise.
So earpers I urge you, before making any comments on the appearance of any of the actors, or their characters. Think to yourself ‘would I say that to Emily Andras’
And if the answer is no, stop typing. Maybe wait until we get the movie to pass too much judgement. Cause y’all be hateful out here, for what. We supposed to all be lit they’re coming back and come together as the community we have painted ourselves to be.

My boss doesn't believe in anyone but her having an office (we might get ideas above our station) so I get to grade student work, manage our finances, and read off credit card numbers to vendors at the public service desk with the entire campus community walking by. I alarmed a coworker by staring blankly into space trying to figure something out because I also have to do all my planning in public so I've decided I need to bring a paper bag to work labeled 'kat's office' and announce "I'm going into my office" before pulling it over my head.

(post ask update) Ok so i realized you made more post about greyed out than from what i saw from looking at a few tags. a general plot summery would still be nice tho.
Tumblr media
Whew! I can try my best to explain the Grayed Out series (Or Greyed Out, since I keep changing it up here and there but there's no wrong or right way of saying it.)
Tumblr media
Grayed Out! Or just "The Grayed Toons" is a prequel to my other side series called "Defect", which is basically a story of how a cog becomes a toonbot and tries to regain memories she lost during her younger years.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unfortunately, I lost a HUGE chunk of page info due to my hard drive dying on me so a few pages is lost media. Defeated, I placed this comic on the back burner and worked on Grayed Out!
Grayed Out ventures into the other perspective of a faction switch out, mainly involving the Grayed Toons Kat, Ruff, and Snaps. This is lead on by a head leader named Richard Hendrick Clark, better known as Reality Check, a Boardbot Manager who wishes to turn toons into obedient peons for C.O.G.S Inc.
Tumblr media
Grayed Out explains the practices of dubious incidents linked to Reality Check, and brings out a spur involving the character Rayne Velvetenne, who eventually turns into a Toonbot named Red in "Defect". Reality Check works as a side henchman and engineer for Robert Cyger, who he secretly despises. The Grayed Toons are Reality Check's goons who he sends out to try and push toons out of homes and playgrounds throughout their story. Most of this involves robberies, bullying, and even property damages.
With this rotten behavior persisting in the series, this brings in the Toon Resistance Force involved to discover the dark side of C.O.G.S Inc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Furthermore, Grayed Out is also a big metaphor over how modern childhood things are being "soiled" and making it difficult for kids to be kids. In a way, this plays a role of how society "force ages" the mental states of kids in today's modern world. This involves exposing vulgar themes, condoning the normalization of drugs and other forms of violence being casually placed in media without monetization, and child neglect. It's a whole shtick I've spit-balled into the series, which will be a consistent role in the story in terms of metaphors.
I hope to persist on the story for as long as I can! I just pray I don't lose a good chunk of stuff like I did with Defect. At least we get to see Ciao AI in "Defect".

I am humbly requesting LauraMax fluff, maybe including an ever growing number of pets because they keep bringing home strays? Y'all know where to find me if you have any questions 😂
🐰 Someday, Max told himself, he’d learn to say no.
To say no to a pair of sad puppy dog eyes, whether they were Laura’s or those of an actual, literal puppy dog. And Laura didn’t do sad eyes often, that was the thing that really got him about it. It was always a sneak attack when Max’s headstrong, self-assured girlfriend pulled out the big, sad baby blues, batted her eyelashes at him, and actually said, “please?” It was unfair, really, because it worked every single time. It was just giving Max the illusion of choice when he inevitably gave in and let Laura have whatever it was that she wanted.
That was how, across multiple separate occasions, they’d ended up with their current menagerie. Max had known that cohabiting with a veterinary student would expose him to a number of critters, but he hadn’t expected it to turn out quite like this. Certainly, Max hadn’t expected to turn into some kind of creature himself the summer before Laura embarked on her graduate school studies, but with what they now jokingly called ‘Wolf Boy Summer’ squared away (they had to laugh, you see, to keep from crying), the creatures had at least been smaller and more manageable.
They’d moved to San Francisco with only a tiny cage with two tiny mice inside, for their tiny apartment. The mice, which Laura had liberated from a science lab she’d worked a few shifts at in undergrad, were champion puzzle-solvers and cheese-finders named Trillian and Cashew. Max didn’t even get consulted about these guys, given that Laura had lived in her own dorm at the time she’d acquired them, but she did let him name one, which is how Trillian ended up named after a character in The Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Laura named Cashew Cashew because that was the flavor of nut milk she was testing that week. (Max thought Cashew was lucky the two mice hadn’t shown up during pea protein milk week.) Laura was “pretty sure” they were both female, until Cashew ended up pregnant and blessed them with baby mice Frankie, Benjy, Ford, Hazel(nut), Almond, Pecan, and Peanut. Max told her this bode poorly for her career in animal care, but Laura took it in stride, saying she’d have to spend more time studying sex differences in mice in the future. They got two larger enclosures and separated everyone out by sex, properly this time, and now Max has to turn the sound up on their white noise machine when he and Laura snuggle up in bed, or else he hears the Galaxy-Nut siblings running in their wheels all night long.
Then, Laura fell in love with a stray cat with a severely matted coat that had been hanging around their doorstep for days, and Max found his loyalty to his mouse family strained. Should they really bring a predator into their happy little home? But Laura was absolutely certain she could make it work, even in the limited space their apartment provided, and the cat really was pitiful-looking. So Max capitulated and the Kearney-Brinly household expanded to include ten mice and one cat.
The pathetic ginger cat, Westley, luckily, turned out to be utterly uninterested in the mice. He got his name because he showed up for the final time on movie night and meowed pitifully through the first half of The Princess Bride (both Laura and Max’s favorite) until they brought him inside. Laura took him the next day to check for a microchip and, finding none, she had the matted orange furball completely shaved. In the middle of winter. And sure, it was a relatively mild San Francisco winter, but Max still thought Wes looked cold.
“I’ve already ordered him a sweater,” Laura said, “but I know you’ve been working on your knitting, maybe you can make him another?”
Max had scoffed at first. Then he’d taken a second look at his pitifully nude cat and stayed up late researching cat sweater patterns. Now Wes has an entire wardrobe of knitwear and Max, Laura, and Wes have matching Christmas sweaters for their Christmas card photos. Max drew Emma for the Hacketteer gift exchange, but he traded with Abi for Dylan and now he’s working on another set for Dylan, Ryan, and Schrödinger. (He knows Ryan will be especially delighted.)
Then it was Max’s turn. He found a large bedraggled dog of indeterminate breed tied to a stop sign in an abandoned parking lot and the dog let him know immediately that Max was his chosen father, riding home with his head in Max’s lap the entire way. Westley liked Laura best anyway, why shouldn’t Max have his own cuddle buddy (you know, other than Laura)? Laura agreed it was only fair, and now Inigo stretches out between them on movie night and he has to get his fill of both scritches and popcorn before he’ll allow them to cuddle with one another.
“Hon,” Max told Laura, who was sitting at her desk with Westley perched on her shoulder like a pirate’s parrot, “you know I love all our kids, but we really cannot have any more animals in this apartment. We might actually get evicted.”
“Couldn’t agree with you more, honey,” Laura replied, and Max had thought that would be the end of their animal acquisition. He could admit that was pretty naive of him.
The next day, Laura had a list of rental houses for them to visit a little further from the city. Sure, she’d have a longer commute to her classes, and Max would to his job, but wouldn’t it be worth it for the ‘kids’ to have more space? Max couldn’t exactly argue with that, so they moved into a two-bed, two-bath with a small fenced yard.
And that was where Max was, cutting up a salad for dinner, when there was a knock at the door. Max answered to find Laura on their doorstep holding the saddest-looking beagle Max had ever seen, her own face mimicking its hangdog expression perfectly. They were both whimpering. “She was released from the surgical program at school and needed a home, I said we’d take her on a trial basis but baaaabe, just look at this faaaace.”
He sighed, but couldn’t help smiling a little, both at the wriggling dog and at his girlfriend. Her big pretend sad eyes, her genuinely huge heart.
Someday Max would learn to say no. But today was not that day.

That would happen to Kuro so much happened during his 200 year nap lol
Ngl there’s something exceedingly hilarious about Kuro being asleep for 200 years and then just immediately adapting to the modern day like a fish to water
Born in the wrong era except it’s a medieval shepherd peasant whose ideal form of existence is being a fake titty gaming streamer
He figured out how credit card works and was off to the races
He’s also direct proof in servamp world that those medieval peasant memes are bunk lmao
“If I showed this to a medieval peasant they’d explode”
The actual medieval peasant: immediately and exuberantly throws himself into otaku culture with reckless abandon
Like… the more time Kuro spends actually Awake and interacting with Mahiru and friends, the more he’ll start to resemble the human he was. And honestly? It’s only been three short months, but we’re seeing it! Compare the Kuro at the start of the manga to the Kuro we have now. He’s expressive! He’s emotive! He’s making his own decisions! He’s starting to love himself again
At the very least, he loves the future and the people in it.
That’s worth something
That’s worth everything

For the ask game, I am curious about these ones: 🦋,🏜️
Hi hi!!
🏜️ what’s your favorite type of comment to receive on your work?
- I truly love readers who express their happiness at finding a reader insert that they could actually fit into. I am a black female writer and as such, my reader inserts are black fem. For me, it’s a chance to write from my own lens and shape a space for others like myself to fit into. And this is important because we rarely have a space in most forms of media. So to see a reader be so happy to find a story with a black fem reader insert, and to express how seen they feel, it truly makes my heart flutter with joy 💕
🦋 share something that has been on your heart and mind lately?
- oh gosh. Lately I’ve felt incredibly thankful for the friends I’ve made on this app. I honestly did not think I would get to experience this again. So to find others who love writing, who love to have fun with it and equally love and support one another, it makes me a little teary eyed sometimes LOL.
When I started writing fanfiction, I stayed on ao3 and while it was fun…it was a little lonely. Creating this blog was exciting but also a source of pain for awhile. But I’m happy now to have met so many new friends who support one another and cultivate friendships even if we haven’t seen each other.
Thank you so much for your asks!!

hello! ^_^
when it comes to shapes what do you think a triangle (specifically an isosceles triangle) would act like?
also what abt squares?
YOU… ASKING ME… ABOUT MY OPINIONS ON SHAAAPES? thankyouthankyouTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHA
ahem
an isosceles triangle! middle child and honestly quite nice— unlike scalene, the youngest, being too maximalist and loud and equilateral, the oldest, being single-handedly the most boring thing you’ve talked to— is pretty nice! i feel they’re generous and quite nice but sometimes can be kinda strict, they’re probably the easiest to talk to! not extroverted though not quiiite introverted, kind of a balance ig?
SQUARES. probably in the middle of my “what shape do i like the most” list
squares are quite constricted, needing SPECIFIC requirements in order to. y’know. be a square, if a boring strict middle-school teacher was a shape they’d be a square. i have very mixed opinions on them, but honestly they’re kinda like… how do i put this… they’re like- at the top of the quadrilateral food chain? they’re THE quadrilateral honestly, so they’d also kinda be the mean girl / popular kid… no comment i’m indecisive
don’t ask me why i associate high school kid stereotypes to shapes i just do ok
