So do Grayed out toons have a chance to be toned up?
In a way, yes! However it all plays a role of trying to heal the inner Toon. Grayed out implies there is something within that Toon that they simply just can't heal with a Toon Up gag, like feathers or lipstick. However, they say once a Toon, always a Toon! Deep down, under those many many many layers of washed out colors and ichor, lies the heart of just a Toon who might really need a hug.

I just thought of something rn. If the toons represent childhood and the cogs represent adulthood. would a cog who would much rather defect and joins the toons would be an analogy to age-regression? (the coping mechanism where you unapologetically indulge in things that are viewed as childish)
In a way, you could say that! I believe that the grayed toons play a role of "forced aging", or rather the concept of those who never had a proper childhood. When you think about it, you have those who had never properly healed their inner child but we never perceive the side of how an improper childhood even occurs. More often than not, the biggest offenders of this concept of child abuse links to of course the parents but also the environment they were raised in.
Of course, this is all up to the viewer's perspective on things. It is worth noting that the Grayed Toons are young adults, but of course steep into a pit of depression and later on fueled into hatred and resentment to those around them who failed to see their struggles in the first place.
The idea of Toonbots can give a broader idea to age regression, as well as an act of showing that adult life doesn't have to be constant doom and gloom. Every person has SOME bit of whimsy in their heart, regardless of age.
#not art#asks#grayed out#anon#honestly I always like giving the audience some flexibility when it comes to written metaphors#grayed out can definitely be symbolic over childhood neglect and struggling adulthoods#and this is coming from someone who had a rough childhood herself#either way your concept is interesting!

Hi, I'm a little busy with real life stuff mainly involving house matters since I'm planning to move out soon. I just want to let you guys know that I will be discarding any pizza tower related asks regardless if it's just the game or the AU I made last year. I'm not really all in the passion for Pizza Tower anymore, and I genuinely don't want to discuss anything related to it. I'm sorry if you sent something about the Hell Tower AU, I just genuinely can't find it in me to really talk about it as I used to.
#not art#i'm not mad btw i'm just really tuckered out#been trying to empty my ask box in relevance to the topic so i'm making this psa#i'm really sorry if you came here for anything PT related

(post ask update) Ok so i realized you made more post about greyed out than from what i saw from looking at a few tags. a general plot summery would still be nice tho.
Whew! I can try my best to explain the Grayed Out series (Or Greyed Out, since I keep changing it up here and there but there's no wrong or right way of saying it.)
Grayed Out! Or just "The Grayed Toons" is a prequel to my other side series called "Defect", which is basically a story of how a cog becomes a toonbot and tries to regain memories she lost during her younger years.
Unfortunately, I lost a HUGE chunk of page info due to my hard drive dying on me so a few pages is lost media. Defeated, I placed this comic on the back burner and worked on Grayed Out!
Grayed Out ventures into the other perspective of a faction switch out, mainly involving the Grayed Toons Kat, Ruff, and Snaps. This is lead on by a head leader named Richard Hendrick Clark, better known as Reality Check, a Boardbot Manager who wishes to turn toons into obedient peons for C.O.G.S Inc.
Grayed Out explains the practices of dubious incidents linked to Reality Check, and brings out a spur involving the character Rayne Velvetenne, who eventually turns into a Toonbot named Red in "Defect". Reality Check works as a side henchman and engineer for Robert Cyger, who he secretly despises. The Grayed Toons are Reality Check's goons who he sends out to try and push toons out of homes and playgrounds throughout their story. Most of this involves robberies, bullying, and even property damages.
With this rotten behavior persisting in the series, this brings in the Toon Resistance Force involved to discover the dark side of C.O.G.S Inc.
Furthermore, Grayed Out is also a big metaphor over how modern childhood things are being "soiled" and making it difficult for kids to be kids. In a way, this plays a role of how society "force ages" the mental states of kids in today's modern world. This involves exposing vulgar themes, condoning the normalization of drugs and other forms of violence being casually placed in media without monetization, and child neglect. It's a whole shtick I've spit-balled into the series, which will be a consistent role in the story in terms of metaphors.
I hope to persist on the story for as long as I can! I just pray I don't lose a good chunk of stuff like I did with Defect. At least we get to see Ciao AI in "Defect".
