The house feels unusually quiet, a stark contrast to the bustling energy you’re used to when Max comes home.

“Hey, love,” Max says, trying to sound cheerful despite the tension in the air. “I brought your favourite ice cream.”

You look at him, your eyes narrowing slightly. “Oh, so now you’re trying to bribe me with ice cream?”

Max winces at your tone, setting the ice cream down on the coffee table. “I thought it might help smooth things over.”

You sigh, putting your phone aside. “Max, do you have any idea how many messages I’ve gotten today? Everyone knows now. Everyone.”

“I know, and I’m really sorry,” Max replies earnestly, stepping closer to you. “It just slipped out. I was excited, and I didn’t think—”

“That’s the problem, Max. You didn’t think,” you cut in, crossing your arms and stepping back from him. “This was supposed to be our special moment. Our announcement.”

Max reaches out for your hand, his expression pleading. You pull away, your disappointment palpable.

“You’re in the dog house tonight, Verstappen.”

“Come on, Y/N, don’t be like that,” Max urges, his eyes reflecting genuine regret. “I know I messed up, but I didn’t mean to. I just couldn’t help talking about how happy I am.”

Your resolve wavers for a moment, seeing the sincerity in his eyes. “It’s not just about the announcement, Max. It’s about our privacy, our moment. You know how much this meant to me.”

“I do,” Max murmurs softly. “And I’ll make it up to you. I promise.”

You shake your head, though your expression softens just a bit. “You better. But tonight, you’re sleeping on the sofa.”

Max nods solemnly, accepting his fate. “Alright, the sofa it is. But can we at least share the ice cream?”

You hesitate, then roll your eyes in resignation. “Fine. But just the ice cream. You’re still in trouble.”

Max smiles gratefully, relieved that you’re willing to share even this small moment with him. He retrieves two spoons from the kitchen and settles on the sofa beside you, careful to maintain a respectful distance, the mood swings were strong today. You sit together in silence, eating the ice cream slowly, each lost in your own thoughts.

As you near the bottom of the tub, Max suddenly has an idea. “Hey, Y/N?”

You look at him, a spoonful of ice cream paused halfway to your mouth. “What?”

“I know I ruined our announcement, and I feel terrible about it,” Max begins earnestly. “But how about this—you can be the one to announce the sex of the baby. However you want, whenever you want. It’s your moment.”

Your gaze softens as you consider his suggestion. “I like that idea. But you’re still sleeping on the sofa tonight.”

Max chuckles softly. “Fair enough. But at least we’re getting somewhere, right?”

You lean in and kiss his cheek gently. “Yeah, we are. Thanks, Max. This means a lot to me.”

I totally understand being shy to spit out your thoughts, often, if I’m not having trouble just getting the words out in general, I’m too damn scared to say anything. Just recently I worked up the courage to actually speak what I think here. And I am GLAD I can be of service in that way oh my god. I respect u too it’s been. A huge honor, I stalk literally all the tags and it can be like a minefield. Like, It’s okay to like Jack as a character, he’s a compelling villain and I think he’s really well written. But he’s genocidal and a fascist… that can’t be ignored bl2 literally yells it at you. However an analysis of him is definitely not for this post and definitely not my strongest suit, we’ll see about that on my side.

And I use Spotify! Seeing you mention crane wives made my brain EXPLODE because not only are they a reaaaally Fiona like band, it gives real Sasha vibes, and just tales/borderlands in general. I’m definitely biased because of stuff with me and my friends own stories and headcanons and ocs, but even with a grain of salt if you or anyone wants to check more songs out pleaaase do. I definitely agree that I can see how the hand that feeds is soooo Fiona but I’m gonna go run and listen to it in the context of her now.

BUT I do have some Crane wives songs that I one, just recommend in general, and two, can fit the tales cast really well. High Horse, Curses [it’s popular I know but trust me I have a vision], and Arcturus Beaming.

High horse just reminds me of Fiona and Sasha a lot, it’s been influenced by stuff me and my best friend come up with so. Again. Biased, but it’s a GOOD song. Arcturus Beaming is new, and it’s not some people’s fav but because it reminded me so much of the tales cast I have a very good opinion of it. For lack of better words that shit was so good I immediately slapped that shit on my tales’ oc’s playlist cause holy shit. Good song. AND THE SYMBOLISM GOD. First line: Perry really should have seen this coming, after he'd started taking Phineas and Ferb to Ben Kenobi's for weekly "Jedi" lessons. He knew they wouldn't quite understand the gravity of the situation, and while they would take it seriously, they were still very young at 7 years of age and utterly innocent. They actually liked living on Tatooine, and nobody liked that! Well, at least nobody that Perry hung around.

Last line: “Oh, yeah, right,” Stacy said sheepishly. They walked back to where their siblings and their friends were waiting and continued playing, but Perry stayed alert. It would only take one slip-up, and Perry wouldn’t be able to make good on his promise should Candace ever return.

First line: It was the anniversary since the old king and queen of Vesulia had both tragically passed, several years ago, and their children Queen Bridgette, Prince Aden, and Princess Sasha had a tradition to remember their parents. I guess the common link is that most of the time I like to have boringly informative openers 🤣. And by that I mean I don't usually have dialogue in my openers or endings (with the obvious exception of chat-fics). Idk, you tell me what you feel like the common link is.

Well I don't think people ship Sasha and Quinni after the whole bookstore situation anymore, or at least I hope so. In the beginning I thought they were cute but then as the series progressed I was like okay this isn't it and I was also thinking about r*nance lol.

And before people complain about Steve being bitchy as well, the difference is yeah he can be annoyed but he would never intentionally make the other person feel bad. Throughout the series, it's shown how much he cares about others and tries to be a better person, unlike Nancy, who is still mostly the same since s1. Robin is comfortable around Steve. She can rant without him rolling his eyes constantly, and he would immediately apologize when he hurt her feelings.

What pisses me off the most about r*nance is that Robin is clearly used to only better Nancy, like she has to fill the void Barb left or she's there to let Nancy explore her sexuality (imo she's like the straightest girl alive but I digress). When you go through the Robin tag, it's all about Nancy, not even about her own character. Her love interest gets ignored or made into a villian caricature, even though canonically Vickie is the one showing interest in Robin, unlike Nancy, who's again emotionally cheating on her bf, this time with her ex. Also, it's kinda annoying that as soon as a lesbian interacts with another girl, they automatically have to be in love, that they are incapable of having female friends. Stop shipping lesbians with straight girls and stop shipping autistic people with people who can't handle their neurodivergence 2023.

you bring up an excellent point about the issues with making a lesbian character have to be with any pretty girl she stands next to, which is super common in fandom spaces and like. needs to stop yesterday. it’s annoying for one, but more importantly, it feeds into this gross idea of a “predatory lesbian.” like she can’t just have friends, there has to be underlying sexual tension with any girl she comes within a 50 foot radius of.

there’s also this way that people ignore canonically bi characters (vickie, which is confirmed through her actress) and try to villainize them for straight up no reason. i don’t think people have to ship robin and vickie at all. i do, but obviously shipping is up to an individual. i also don’t think people even have to like vickie!

the problem here, at least for me, is that she exhibits the exact same autistic traits (info dumping, lack of social filter) that robin does (and canonically feels insecure about!!) and instead of letting robin have a nd love interest, people are like…. no…. i think i’ll make her be with a straight girl who doesn’t even like her. n*ncy definitely mistreats robin until she finds out that steve and robin aren’t dating and even after that, is annoyed by her until she shows that she is smart and useful.

tl;dr: absolutely. let’s leave behind shipping lesbians with straight girls, nd characters with characters who treat them like a chore AND media illiteracy. (also not treating nd people like they’re inherently useless would be cool too)
