it’s taken me quite some time to respond to this and i’m so sorry to you anon and @bigtreefest for making you both wait (since essie also sent this to me—thank you both ilysm)

ANYWAY!!

this was actually quite hard for me to figure out. bc while i love some of my fics with all of my heart, i’m still p critical of them all, and having to narrow them down into a list was like… a test lmao. but i gave it my best shot!!

so, one of my favorite bucky fics is no shelf control bc it’s silly and fun and sweet. reader is super oblivious and bucky is such a simp for her it’s unreal. who doesn’t love that tbh??

as for my steve fics, for similar reasons, i really love my first steve in i ♡ caulk lol. i had a fun time writing a bimbo reader until i didn’t but we won’t get into that rip and steve is just quietly in awe of her and her confidence. we love steeb in this house.

and honestly, i can’t lie, i’m p obsessed with my pirate king wanda mini series, which started with yo ho and is actually my favorite part of the series. i love pirates of the caribbean like it shaped me into who i am today and keira knightley in the second one dressed in the men’s clothing set off the queer in me god bless.

and finally, the last two fics that i love are some of my newest and are for my beloved beefy baby jakey :’) a helping hand (and it’s second part) was so fun to write and was my first jake fic, and curiosity just really lives in my head rent free forever and always. there’s something about jake that feels so real to me, like he feels more tangible than any other character for me and has now given me a clear outline of the type of person i’d like to be in a relationship with lmao 😅 he’s just so sweet and earnest and a giant dork and i love him so so much.

First off I apologize for the reblog spam. Finally had some time to clear some of my drafts.

Second, I want to thank you for taking the time to make Hayray gifs. I only started watching Hollyoaks live in May after someone (apologies, I don't know whose gif this is) posted this gif

and it showed up on my Twitter timeline. I had to know who they were, then binge watched all their scenes on Youtube. I was hooked. I try not to get deep into fandoms anymore to protect my mental health so I lurk mostly, but I will reblog and share everyone's creations as much as I can. Who knows I might open up Photoshop again and make some fanart again. Hayray has been my go-to soap opera ship since all my US soaps are boring me currently. Watched their couples era live over the summer. Now I'm strapped in to watch their second round of angst. Thank you again.

Hayray are something special. I’m the same as you. I have tried to stay out of fandom for quite a while for the same reasons as you but something about them just managed to totally enthrall me this year. It’s been really nice to dust off photoshop and google docs and make things again after taking such a big break from fandom. I’ve met some truly lovely people too and it’s been the best thing ever to be able to share my love for them (and my stress over them!!) with others.

Thanks so much again for being so lovely. I really look forward to seeing your art if you ever decide you want to create some for them. ♥️

hi, I was told by someone you might like this picture I took at the Fort George National Historic Site. I didn’t catch the reenactors name, but he played Yankee Doodle on a fife, recited a fair bit of William Worth’s writing, and then told us about his uniform, which he said was one an American Jr. Officer would have worn. He was the only person in the whole fort in an American uniform instead of British.

I was slightly alarmed to receive the notification of an ask from a person I don't follow, who also does not follow me, with the preview text "hi, I was told by someone you might like this..." (and of course the picture was blurred out in my inbox)

But actually this is awesome, thank you so much for sharing it with me!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️ Fort George is literally the focus of my dream War of 1812 vacation (and I am wildly jealous of my Canadian mutuals and followers who live nearby!) I adore the Fort George cookbook and I collect their souvenirs!

This man might be a member of the 41st Regiment of Foot living history association, I know some of their members will portray US Army at events. His presentation sounds really cool, and I would love to see something like this when I finally manage to visit Fort George!!!!

i feel like they met at like a farmer's market or something. they're both the suburban type, so they like the atmosphere of living in a town where there's a huge sense of community.

probably, steve and bucky were even running a booth there, or helping out another friend of theirs. steve saw you looking over some homemade jams at the booth beside his and immediately thought you were so beautiful. he was quietly pleased that you stop at his booth next.

our polite guy was likely a little shy to drum up a conversation, but you smiled and seemed to be very interested in keeping it going. he'd gathered his courage and asked you on a date and couldn't stop grinning long after you agreed and carried on browsing the market.

(and yes, his friends teased him mercilessly over it.)

HENRY: Likes to squeeze the back of your neck before 'asking' (in quotes bc it's more of a statement ie: "we should totally make out right now."). Very rarely do you have to be the one to ask - Henry's always down for some smooching.

LYRA: Grabs your jaw and pulls you into her. Doesn't really ask - it's pretty obvious what she wants. Always lets you initiate first before she goes all in.

ELIJAH: Glances at your lips a lot - gets embarrassed when he (always) gets caught. You'll have to be the one to ask; Eli's too flustered to ask for a kiss LOL.

SANDY: Grabs and pinches at your face, smushing your lips and cheeks to make silly expressions. It's about 50/50 as to who asks / makes the first move.

I'm writing this because I need to tell you how much I love Dear Your Holiness (I love every single one of your fics, don't get me wrong, but DYH? Christ -pun intended-.) I read it for the first time exactly one year ago and since then, it had always been there on the very top of my favourite ones, unmoving. Last week, I decided to re-read it and, don't want to be sappy, but it felt like coming back home. Your writing is simply amazing and the building of the characters is simply brilliant.

And, while Remus and Sirius will always be my favourite part of it all, (their story, how Sirius falls in love twice for the same person, how Remus chooses Sirius over everything) my favourite part is Harry. It means so so much to me and I think you did such a great job (plus, amazing Teddy's characterisation, of course. I really don't know which character I love the most.)
