So, a year ago today I sat on the couch unsure what to watch and I came across this show. Thought it would be something easy like the series I watched as a child.
Fate.
And just as the name of the show, fate hit me when I first saw Eve Best as Farah. Immediately fell in love with her acting and wanted to find out more about her. What other roles she played and what else I could watch with her in it.
Always told myself not to let myself get sucked into the fandom too hard and just be watching some edits with her, but oh well. 😅
No need to say, that plan didn‘t work out AT ALL and my heart crushed multiple times seeing her endings in what feels like everything she did. (Thanks Maryland for healing these wounds 🙏🏼)
So, a year later, here I am, rewatching Fate (again) for this special day, got to know some really lovely girls from around the world just because of Eve and even been able to meet some of them! 🫶🏼 Was so close too meeting her, but filming schedule said no. Not giving up hope though 🤞🏼
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gifs are made by @evebestthinker, love all your works! ♥️ (Hope it‘s okay to repost these for this post)
So thank you Eve fandom for being such a kind and lovely bunch of people! Hope to see more of her soon (and please surviving some roles 🤞🏼)

OO I've got a little prompt to hear your thoughts about. If the 141 squad (plus nik, laswell and the others ofc) were involved with a musical, what would their roles be?
HEXXXXX!!!!!! Thank you omg I'm so excited about this. Thought about it A LOT and here's what I came up with hehe
Price - The Reluctant Director
Price absolutely did not sign up for this. Somehow, though, he’s been roped into directing the entire production. He’s the one pacing backstage with a clipboard and a very large mug of tea, yelling “Places, people!” when everyone’s goofing off. He’s stressed, perpetually tired, and definitely muttering about how this whole thing is in “shambles” but secretly gets way too proud when things go smoothly. He also ends up filling in as the voice of God (narrator) because no one else can deliver monologues with the same gravitas. Am I projecting a little bit? Yes, but we pretend like I'm not shhhh
Soap - Lead Actor / Chaos Incarnate
Soap throws himself wholeheartedly into the lead role, no matter what it is. He learns every line, sings every note like his life depends on it, and insists on doing his own choreography—even when he can’t dance to save his life. He’s everyone’s hype man backstage, and trying to teach Ghost tap-dancing routines during intermissions. Soap’s the one who trips over a prop during a live performance but somehow makes it work like it was planned. Soap is a little annoying about getting the lead but he's genuinely good and helpful to the rest of the cast that you can't really be mad at him. Or his ego.
Ghost - Tech Crew / “Absolutely Not Getting On Stage”
Ghost wants nothing to do with the spotlight. He’s the one in black, lurking in the rafters and managing the lights, sounds and special effects. Everyone else is amazed at how Ghost can get pyrotechnics to go off perfectly on cue. There’s one moment where a prop gets stuck on a side-stage light, and Ghost has to step in—wearing a hastily thrown-on costume—and the audience goes wild. Soap spends the next six months teasing him about his “hidden stage presence.”
Gaz - The Multi-Talented Backup
Gaz is the definition of a team player in this production. He sings, dances, acts—whatever you need him to do, he’ll do it and do it really well. He’s got a surprising talent for harmonising during big ensemble numbers and always nails his cues. If something goes wrong during a live performance, Gaz is the guy who smoothly improvises and saves the day without breaking a sweat. He’s also the best dancer out of the lot but keeps it under wraps until the big numbers.
Nikolai - Musical Conductor / Scene-Stealer
Nik is in charge of the orchestra pit, grinning the entire time as he directs with a little too much flair. He loves the drama of it all. Nik also insists on having a small but hilarious cameo role, like a mysterious merchant or a random townsman with one line that somehow brings the house down. He gets more applause than anyone else during curtain call, and no one can figure out how he did it. I miss my orchestra to no end and Nik as my conductor would be incredible. I imagine him as a double-bass, trombone and french horn player because I think he'd take one look at his orchestra as a kid and see those players missing and take it upon himself to drop his violin lessons in favour of those. He'd be such a good conductor too, smile beaming when the clarinets get their cue right or the orchestra plays a chord particularly well. He'd cry at the end of the performance too there's no doubt about it.
Laswell - Stage Manager
Laswell is the glue holding the entire production together. She’s got the schedule, the call sheets, and every emergency fix anyone could possibly need. Someone forgets their costume? Laswell has a backup. Lights malfunction? She’s got a plan. She’s calm, unflappable, and has perfected The Look that keeps everyone in line. If anyone so much as thinks about missing a cue, Laswell’s already on the headset calling it out. She's also the only one Price trusts with a second opinion when he's unsure about something.
Farah - Choreographer / Supporting Lead
Farah’s choreography is both precise and stunning—she takes no nonsense during rehearsals. She’s the one drilling the ensemble into shape and yelling “One more time!” while everyone groans. But when she steps into a supporting lead role, her performances are incredible. Her presence on stage is magnetic, and her duet with Soap brings the audience to tears.
Alex - Vocal Coach
Alex is the team’s unexpectedly brilliant vocal coach, somehow roped into the role after casually revealing he has actual singing training from his past after Price and Laswell were stressed because none of the other people they interviewed were any good. He’s calm, patient, and has an almost unnerving ability to get anyone comfortable to sing solo lines. He’s the kind of coach who works miracles without raising his voice. Soap cracks a high note for the fifth time? Alex is right there, guiding him through breathing exercises until it’s perfect. Gaz struggles with timing? Alex hums out the rhythm like it’s second nature, and suddenly everything clicks.
Of course, being Alex, he’s more than willing to demonstrate when someone doesn’t get it. He’ll casually hit a note so smooth and perfect that the entire room stops. Soap stares, slack-jawed, and mutters, “You’ve been holding out on us.” Nik swears Alex missed his calling as a professional singer. He gets a special mention in Price’s thank-you speech during curtain call—just a simple “We’d all still be tone-deaf without him,” but it’s enough to make Alex grin and duck his head, embarrassed but proud.
Alejandro - The Charismatic Villain
Alejandro owns the villain role. He’s charming, dramatic, and delivers every line with just the right amount of menace. Half the audience is rooting for him by the end of the show. His costume is impeccable (he definitely helped design it), and his big solo number ends with him flipping a cape and walking off-stage to deafening applause. He’s secretly loving every second of it.
Rudy - Ensemble / Understudy Extraordinaire
Rudy’s the guy quietly holding everything together in the background. He’s part of the ensemble, blending in seamlessly, but he also knows everyone’s lines in case he has to jump in at the last second. When Alejandro loses his voice during a matinee, Rudy steps in, delivers the villain’s performance flawlessly, and becomes a legend overnight. Everyone underestimates him until that moment, and Soap won’t stop bringing it up.
Graves - The Sponsor Who Won’t Shut Up
Graves is technically funding the production, which means he thinks he gets a say in everything. He’s in the front row at every performance, talking too loudly about how “none of this would’ve happened without me.” He insists on getting a “Special Thanks” mention in the programme, and Price barely tolerates him. Graves also definitely tried to cast himself as the lead at one point and had to be gently removed from rehearsals. It's all in good fun in the end as Graves congratulates them and admits he never could do what they did.
Roach - The Unsung Hero
Roach is everywhere at once—helping with props, rigging lights, fixing costumes, and occasionally stepping in as part of the ensemble when someone’s sick. He doesn’t say much, but everyone knows the production would fall apart without him. Price gives him a rare nod of approval during curtain call, and Roach just shrugs like it’s no big deal. I also imagine Roach is the one that helps Ghost rig all the lights just crawling everywhere getting it done. Helps mic everyone up when Ghost is really stressed because one of the lights is malfunctioning, or the monitors have a weird buzz no one can figure out how to fix. Roach is literally a jack of all trades and a master of all you can't change my mind. He's done it all in theatre from lead role to just a stage hand to directing but this is his favourite thing to do, just help in any way he can, an extra pair of hands there to stop his friends from losing their minds too early.
As you can see I've thought about this a lot pffft. I just love this idea I now feel like I have to make a theatre AU omg like I've done all of the things listed here it'd be so good hmmm much to think about hehe. Thank you Hexx omg this brought me immense joy <333

Happy Valentine's! I drew the biggest love off my favorite picture of her for you ❤️🦍 hugs for both of you (and your Gran!)
And if you do not mind, do you have thoughts to share about gazfaralex on Valentine's? I feel like Gaz and Farah might decide to spoil Alex because he's their sunshine princess, but then again, he's probably bringing them the sweetest gifts himself...
Tumblr media
OH MY GOD, THAT'S BEAUTIFUL. THANK YOU <3
Obligatory 🦍 conga line: 🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍
I'm so sorry I didn't respond to this on Valentine's Day, I got caught up in my nonsense and stopped checking asks at one point.
I think they absolutely spoil Alex, no doubt about it. And I'll get to that in a moment, but I do have another thought, too.
Farah once offhandedly mentioned a childhood recipe that her mother used to make to Alex, she thought nothing of telling him about it. On Valentine's Day, he recruits Gaz to help him make it for the three of them.
They spoil Alex, they do. Gaz gets him flowers because Alex's face lights up when he does, and the man has a permanent blush for the rest of the day. Farah takes a slightly different approach, she steals him for an hour, and they shower together. She washes his hair, scrubs him down with vanilla scented bodywash, and rinses him off. She'll dry his hair after it and massage body butter into his skin whilst Alex melts under her touch. She insists on also getting him something physical, and Alex wants to refuse until she hands him a framed photo of the three of them.
They spoil Gaz, too, obviously. Alex buys him a weighted blanket because Gaz complains that whenever he goes home to visit, his childhood bedroom has a draft. When he unfolds the blanket, he finds a pair of fluffy socks and a bottle of that gin he likes but never really buys himself. Farah buys him a ring, plain gold with his initials etched into the band. It takes him a few minutes to realise that there are initials inside of the band, too, hers and Alex's.

yeah yeah yeah Soap is dead, but how about Soap coming back and haunting every member of 141 like the clingy bastard that he is
Farah who never really knew Soap as well as the others, but still feels the gaping hole that his presence left. Farah, who finds herself standing beside Ghost underneath the cool night sky, and surprises herself (and him) with a joke that's so oddly distasteful about the state of their recent mission and feeling a soft warmth flutter in her chest at his light huff of laughter. Laughter that she feels as if she hasn't heard in months. Remembering hours later that herself that she could have sworn that there had been a brief, additional gust of laughter along the wind that neither of them bothered to acknowledged.
Alex who feels the unsettling quiet that's grown between all of them at all times as if it were a blanket. He knew Soap as well as one might expect from the very few times they worked together, and oftentimes thinks about the blossoming friendship between them that had died along with him. Alex, who often wonders about the kind of leader Soap would have been and places him in the tiny cranny in his heart that's reserved for every man and woman that's worked alongside him and died. Alex who feels the unwelcome *push* of hands that cause him to stumble so hard he feels as if his teeth has knocked out, and just barely remembers that he's in an active warzone before he glances up and sees the tall tale imprint of a bullet in the wall right where his head had been.
Rudy who had the privledge of actually becoming Soap's friend, and remembers the exact moment he heard the news. They weren't *close*. Not in the way that Soap was close with Ghost or Gaz or even Alejandro, but he still felt as if a bullet had pierced his own heart at the confirmation of his death. Watching at the brief flicked of emotions crossing Alejandro's face at another soldier lost far too soon. Rudy who flips through the long forgotten sketchbook that Soap had left during one of his visits to Las Almas, and delicately places his fingers on the sketches. Rudy who doesn't remember falling asleep, and wakes up with the scent of a long forgotten friend floating in the air and a sketchbook that's been left on an empty page he doesn't remember seeing. He stands up to get his pencil.
Alejandro who takes every death to heart, and keeps every dog tag that he can find stored in a drawer in his desk of all the men and women he had the honor of fighting alongside with. Alejandro who grieves at the absolute unfairness of it all, and vows to kill Markarov himself if he should ever have the chance. Alejandro, who still wants to believe that there is some sort of afterlife and that maybe there's a point to all of this. Alejandro, who loses *another* soldier and feels the weight of a hand on his shoulder that squeezes, and thinks that just for a moment that he can hear the faint whisper of bad spanish with a slight scottish accent in his ear. Words barely perceptible even by his own trained ears, and yet it brings a small smile to his face.

If Nik is teaching yard work, what would teen!Farah and teen!Ghost be doing 🤔
He's definitely teaching them all the same things, just has them in rotation. He showed Farah how to work with the chainsaw first because he feels she's the most responsible.
Simon is digging up weeds with his bare hands, connecting with his inner mole, and Kyle is is cutting grass. Next rotation, Simon gets the chainsaw, Kyle is working on weeds, and Farah is cutting grass. Next rotation?
John notices his baby boy with a damn chainsaw and freaks out. He doesn't approve of any of them using the chainsaw.

Happy Valentine’s Day 💕
Thank you for your lovely writing and kind comments that you share with us! I’m so very much in love with the way you write Zuri and Farah.
If you feel like answering (no pressure): Are there any romantic gestures that your OC loves? What about romantic gestures that your OC hates?
Wishing you a lovely day filled with lots of love!
Hello hello! This is so sweet, thank you so much anon🥹❤️ Zuri and Farah's dynamic has been so interesting to explore, and I've just scratched the surface in my writing for them. I have a few fics for them planned (although I won't be able to get them out just yet), hopefully you'll enjoy those too.
And I don't mind answering at all!
Valentine's Day has always been a little bit complicated for Zuri; the inner conflict she has between the part of her that craves intimacy and the part of her who runs away from it because she doesn't think she can truly have it (or that she's even deserving of it anymore), makes it difficult for anyone who has shown an interest in her to know her. So she's been on the receiving end of a variety of romantic gestures, a lot of them being a miss.
Despite being a plant lady, she doesn't like getting flowers - specifically bouquets. They don't get to live all that long, so having a flower that will inevitably wilt within a month is not appealing to her. But if she gets a little potted plant, especially one the person planted and grew themselves, she'll love it. No matter what stage of growth it's in.
For the sake of not making this post too long:
She doesn't like gestures that could be done with just anyone. The type of stuff with little to no thought behind it + things that make it obvious that they don't know her (it makes her feel sad and guilty).
She doesn't like public gestures because they feel too performative (which is a little ironic coming from her).
The thing is, a lot of the gestures she likes and even loves, don't have to all that extravagant (even though she does enjoy those too lol). So long as there are clear intentions and thought behind the gesture, she'll love it.
For the more extravagant stuff, it would be things like:
Tickets to a broadway show she likes, with both of them dressing to the nines.
Going to a restaurant with live music (and dressing to the nines again lol, she really likes dressing up with her partner).
A weekend getaway to a resort or cabin, especially one that's closer to nature.
For the more chill stuff, it would be things like:
Decorating a place that holds memories for both parties - bonus points if there's food prepared by the person, a picnic or dinner would be great (said place could even be the bedroom lol).
Going out to do an activity both parties enjoy, especially if they're revisiting a place they went to before or a place similar to it.
Gifts with sentimental value; a card with a sweet and specific message in it, handmade jewellery, photos of the two of them in a frame or in a scrapbook (a scrapbook would make her tear up), anything that could be a callback to a memory they share.
The common thread in most of these is them spending time together. Zuri wants to feel wanted and loves quality time, so someone actively choosing to spend the day with her rather than being around her because of circumstances would mean so much to her. She isn't used to her company being sought after beyond the surface level fun she brings to the table, so anything that shows her that it's deeper than that makes her feel all fuzzy inside.
Since you mentioned Zuri and Farah, here are a couple things they would do on Valentine's Day:
Both of them whipping up some snacks and a meal in the kitchen before having a movie night in Farah’s room (that is in fact a reference to that movie night scene in book 3).
Farah would absolutely draw Zuri, and when she shows it to her, she will gush and swoon over it for days. Zuri would keep any and every drawing Farah gives her, and years later she'll have them made into an art book with little sticky notes on how each one makes her feel (and how talented her baby is).
Zuri would decorate the garden outside the warehouse à la The Book Of Life and set up a picnic for them there. She might recreate that whole scene if it turns out to be a movie Farah likes, serenading her with a ukelele in hand - the theatre kid in her can't not do that. It's both romantic and cheesy as hell, and I think Farah would love that.
I have so many more ideas, but my answer is sk much longer than I though it would be I'm so sorry💀😭

Hi comrade! Let's talk about Farah? Questions 6, 9, 18, 26 :)
Jujuuuuuuuuuuu *mUAH*
6. What's something you have in common with this character?
I want to say vibes, specifically Farah's energy when she walks into the room and you'll know she has a goal and plan to discuss, that you know she means business. I am like that in my class ksjfhsk because I have the reputation of being the leader in most assignments (cuz no one has a solid plan and I'm not gonna get my ass failed bcuz of the incompetencies of others)
9. Could you be roommates with this character?
Maybe? XD I imagine girls night would be nice with Farah.
18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?
Price. The level of trust is different there. The way he held her back in Atomgrad Raid, the talk in the forest.
Tumblr media
"I hope you'll trust me" "Implicitly"
26. What's something the character has done you can't get over? Be it something funny, bad, good, serious, whatever?
You know what I'm still a bit confuse in mw3 when she had missiles, for someone who was so against about it with Hadir and all...it just threw me off the loop. "my weapons are my business" WELL I MEAN - *gestures* I dont really know how to word it, it just rubbed me the wrong way and Im just bummed it was never fully explained/explored (well cod mw3 is a shitshow with the speed and half hanging plot so I don't know why Im expecting anything more)

Baby Azad has my heart. The child actor playing him was so so good.
Look at the baby giving kisses. He has been doing that since birth, no wonder.
Tumblr media
She really had him and that was enough for her. Justice for Aishwarya 😞
Tumblr media
My most favourite shot actually. Look at the little one looking up to her mother, no wonder he grew up to be what he grew up to be.
Tumblr media
Okay brb. Crying. For Aishwarya. For Vikram. For Azad. Why kalee why?????

Seren!!! A happy Valentine's Day to you ❤️ how are Nate and Yael or Farah and Gabi spending the day? (No pressure at all!!)
PD 💞 Thank you and a wonderful (day late) Valentine's day to you too ♥️ I hope your day was lovely.
Answering for Gabi and Farah, because they deserve more love.
Since Farah is usually the one to arrange dates, Gabi decides that for Valentine's, she will be the one to surprise Farah. She finds a dance workshop for them to go to, because she knows Farah enjoys doing something together. Gabi isn't super comfortable dancing, but seeing Farah happy helps her loosen up as well, and they end up having a lot of fun.
Afterwards, they spend the evening at Gabi's place. They cook together (Gabi tried to figure out beforehand if there was any human food Farah would like to try), but it ends up as a disaster (still a fun disaster, they can laugh about it) since neither of them is a very good cook and Gabi's idea of making something new and experimental doesn't help. Only dessert is edible, but that's fine with Gabi since she has a sweet tooth anyway. They cuddle up on the couch to eat apple pie and watch a movie, and afterwards, stay up late talking.
