Not "Robin Jason was just an angry, violent, aggressive brat", not "Robin Jason was a perfect, innocent, complete sunshine child" but a secret third thing (Robin Jason was a child who'd suffered abuse and trauma his whole life and never got the proper tools to heal from it; he was happy and silly, and he got angry and could be difficult)

#my dc posting #dc #jason todd #jaybin #robin jason todd #no he wasnt a devil child and no he wasnt a perfect sunshine angel #im much more receptive to the latter bc at least its not demonizing a traumatized child #or victim blaming someone for getting murdered #but it still feels like a big disservice to who he is #and not to be projecting/relating to jason on main but-#my life hasn't been half as bad as his but when any complexity to jaybin is denied bc he Wasn't Bad Like That it feels. bad #my trauma&mental health issues did (and do) make me difficult. when i was 13 i was angry and had a hair-trigger temper #interpreted everything in bad faith etc etc. i was difficult and a lot of work and i was suffering and deserved love and help #(which i've thankfully gotten. love my mom for always being there for me even when i WAS a nightmare)#anyway. i dont like a jaybin who was nothing but angst and rage and behavioral issues. hate it in-fact #i also dont like a jaybin w no issues n no trauma n no poor coping mechanisms and troubles #you gotta get a healthy mix. its the only way forward #once again... the answer to everything is ''people are complex and you gotta think abt things more than surface-level''

During what was supposed to be a very simple cargo transport mission for the 501st, things go more than a little sideways when it turns out what the boys in blue are transporting, is a highly unstable Sith artifact that ends up causing untold amounts of chaos when it blows up the captain to colossal size...

Disoriented and unaware of what's happened to him due to just how quickly things have gotten out of hand, Rex unwittingly causes a ton of damage and a few injuries while trying to regain his bearings. All the while literally holding the lives of a few brothers in his hands...

Thankfully this mission required both Fives and Echo to be kitted out with jetpacks, and they're putting them to good use.

I've had a few days to stew over the Mouthwashing madness that has taken over my mind and have come to 2 conclusions. 1) I don't exactly favor listening to cis men talk about this game 2) I do not like when proshit ppl talk about this game AT ALL

I know it's up to personal preference, and maybe it's cause I started out reading fan translations and fansubs. But I honestly prefer less scrubbing of Japanese artifacts in translations because that way I learn something. It takes me back to when I learned how honorifics worked in the first few manga I read

It very much depends on the setting of the story, but I usually agree. If the setting is in Japan, then I’m almost always on the side of keeping honorifics in. They’re too important to how relationships are expressed in Japan to exclude. Same with if a character calls another character by their family name rather than their given name. It really annoys me when that’s changed.

#thankfully the uy subs don’t do the latter #but they do get rid of honorifics #you can take honorifics out of a dub (macross adv showed what happens if you don’t)#but subs should always have a different script than the dub

love when im watching a documentary and im like "yep thats an egyptologist alright"

#We all hate her #She does orientalist photo shoots and wears old zar amulets too and the latter is SO skeevy to me know that I know more about them #Every zar amulet has been consecrated for a specific person and their spirits and they're supposed to keep it until the day they die #They aren't all custom made but very few are ready made that you can buy nee these days if any #So any zar amulet you can buy has been in use and either was sold due to pretty extreme hardship #Or it belonged to a dead person #And I don't think. They're appropriate to wear. Collecting them for research is fine #But wearing them to be goofy silly comes off as very disrespectful #Thankfully she doesn't do it often- I've only seen a few photos where she does it #But still. Hives. Flames on the sides of my face. Etc #And there's no way that woman is initated.

i also thought about. emet showing up in living memory while hilde would be walking around helping people & such, & the one to walk up to them being ere.nville who doesnt really know anything abt him or anything. but emet hasnt changed his appearance yet so its possible ere.nville has seen depictions of him during his time in sharlayan who knows. either way hes a random Living Person in living memory who hilde clearly knows... & its complicated to explain. but i think itd be interesting to have them talk. they have very little in common but emet Knows a lot so i feel like they could talk about animals as much as emet probably winces a bit abt it bc well his experience with creatures in big detail... looks at elpis. looks away. ultimately itd be fun to have him keep the secret that emets alive too. hes not even involved. but it means he & hilde can bond moreeee bc hes putting a big amount of trust in him there
