the most important thing to know about let 3 is that they are a punk band who is doing satire. the entire thing is an anti-war song, against the russian attacks on ukraine.

the lyrics is very pointed against russia, the mama in question is primarily mother russia, and the second verse mama lyublia morona means mother [russia] is kissing the idiot [their leader].

their look is a reference to their idea of transhumanism, i haven't really looked into this. but to me, it almost looks like drag lenin is singing, which could be a point against or to the anti-homosexuality laws of russia.

Likely Moblit, Hange's second-in-command. He's long appreciated Shion's help in keeping Hange out of (too) much trouble, and he's gone out of his way to support their partnership even before the OT3 became official. Without any of them noticing, haha. (He honestly thought the three of them were together already. Hange was quite disappointed not to surprise him with the reveal.)

While all three of them are still in the military, it's cooking. Well, Shion's cooking, Hange's taste-testing, and Levi's in charge of dirty dishes (which he handles during meal prep whenever Shion doesn't need a hand). Hange gets up to mischief too, stealing nibbles or kisses whenever they feel like it. Outside of the kitchen, Levi enforces cleaning, preferably together -- Hange and Shion know all too well that he's a neat freak and love him for/despite it, so they go along with it.

After the war ends, things shift since Levi spends most of his time in a wheelchair and Hange's missing an eye (plus there's a little one to monitor). Hange runs a workshop from their house, Shion handles most of the shopping, and Levi manages a garden in raised beds that Hange and Shion built. On a sunny spring afternoon, young daughter Petra points at each plant asking its name and what it does and what kinds of flowers it'll make. Meanwhile, Shion and Hange are hiding giggles while trying to stay out of sight, their arms aching from the bags of dirt and fertilizer they're hauling because they don't want to interrupt. Petra doesn't notice them, but Levi does, and his cheek keeps twitching as he attempts to ignore them. Eventually Petra turns to look, and the four of them end up doing more playing in the dirt than gardening. (Bathing thoroughly afterward, of course.)

Shion tends to apologize first, though Hange and Levi get better at it over time. She either immediately addresses a wrong she thinks she's committed by expressing her remorse and her logic, or she gives herself a little time to chew through her thoughts (and emotions) before bringing it up.

so the first time I watched it was back when it came out, my mom rented it (or maybe it was on tv, I can't remember) and I don't remember a lot from that experience but I do remember my mom and I laughing really hard over pretty much all of Robert's reactions. truly thought that man was the funniest character ever created (and I was right <3)

after that I didn't think much about it outside of just thinking it was a Good Funny movie, but then when I was around. 18 I think? I had a brief obsession with James Marsden bc of Hairspray and decided to rewatch it and got really obsessed with it. my friend was over and watched it with me and she said something like "I can tell you really like this movie because you haven't said a word this whole time" bc usually when she was around I'd never shut up sdoifjsodijf Robert and Giselle's scenes were hittin tho and I couldn't look away. I remember tearing up when Robert sang during So Close and I knew I was a goner at that point.

after that it was an obsession that would come and go. I remember there was months where I'd watch it once a week, then I'd move on to something else, and then I'd see it on my dvd shelf and think "huh, I wanna watch that!" and it would start all over again. I also remember there was one year where like. for three months in a row, I'd put it on to fall asleep to every night, and then just hit play again if I woke up to the title menu. and then I'd watch it while getting ready for work/eating breakfast.

when the sequel was finally actually in motion, I knew my brain rot was gonna come back, and when they released the trailer and I saw Robert and Giselle had a baby, I knew it was really gonna hit me. the one and only thing I wanted from Disenchanted was married, domestic, fluffy Robert/Giselle and just based off the one trailer I watched I knew my brain was gonna rot away. and it did <3

Disenchanted came at just the right time too bc I was lookin for a something to sink my teeth into in terms of a fixation, so I'm glad this one came back.

Lottie has internalized all of Karl’s lunatic antisocial and paranoid tendencies, and as such it takes a while for her to warm up to strangers. She’s slightly less mistrustful than him purely due to having less life experience, and the best way to win her over is to show genuine enthusiasm about her interests and crazy little childish inventions. She is quite extroverted which can come off a smidge confusing - she’ll often appear quite friendly and talkative but when your back is turned she’ll hit you with the suspicious squinty eyes. (Queue Mr. Krabs “the kind of smelly smell that smells smelly�� scene.) Similarly, it doesn’t take much to break her trust - one wrong move and she’ll remember it forever and ever, and if it’s bad enough it will color all of her future interactions with you. *slaps her head* This baby can hold SO many grudges.

As for impactful memories, at the time the fic takes place she doesn’t have a ton but far more than someone her age should - she doesn’t try to dwell on the bad or confusing ones, like being held by someone whose face she can’t see or a desperate voice that sounds familiar but distant. She also tries not to dwell in those agonizingly awkward and uncomfortable recollections of Miranda poking and prodding her like a lab rat, even though they like to nag at her from time to time. Rather, she keeps going back to when Karl first let her help out on a project - nothing so traumatizing as a soldat, but he taught her how to use a wrench and a drill and a screwdriver by helping him disassemble an old motorcycle that they turned into a wacky weapon. She wishes they could do that every day instead of stupid boring adult obligations. Think of all the monstrosities they could build together! #girldad #fatherdaughterbusiness
