Hi friends! So for those of you who don't know I'm Canadian! I *didn't* write this, found it on @wetheurban ✨ . I don't usually write stuff about this specifically on here as you can find what I think about all this stuff on my twitter, but this really spoke to me. . I would also like to clarify that I understand not wanting to essentially pay for someone else to do anything, so the beginning of this sentiment is false to me as I DO understand that. We are possessive of our money, our people and our territory as all hell. I'm not confused by this even though I don't think it's right. . I don't go to the docs a lot, I don't have long outstanding physical health problems (aside from dental and optical which ARE NOT including in the Canadian health care system, thanks guys 🤷‍♀️) but I would like to say that I don't mind honestly paying taxes even if I don't need get to the doctors for a year. . During the time I don't go, my taxes go to people who help build my country to be better, my taxes support the life and lives of others who are human and deserve medical care. . It goes to my brothers friend Charles who had a heart transplant in his teens. . It goes to the kids who are assaulted and need medical care. . It goes to the person who was hit by a car on the way to work. . That is more important to me then having excess money in the bank to buy shoes, vegan burritos or make up. .
