Langris x Finesse--dear goodness do I love them! Just thinking of them rekindles my passion for Black Clover! Criminally underrated ship, in my opinion. I have an entire Spotify playlist about them, so I will admit it was a little hard to narrow it down. In the end I've decided on a Finesse song since I feel like most of the time when I ramble about this pairing it's always very Langris-centric (i.e. his feelings and his devotion for her) so I don't talk about Finesse's side of things too much. (Sorry Finesse). The song "A Quiet Thing" really captures how I imagine Finesse's love for Langris would develop as a very slow burn and dare I say "quiet thing" over time, really building on this quiet, steadfast devotion that endeared me to this pairing in the first place. I love this song for them since it's really about how some love (like the love I imagine Langris and Finesse would have for each other) is "a quiet thing," and even if it's not the flashy, grand "fireworks" kind of love we tend to think of from epics romances, it's still really beautiful in its own way.

And here's where the headcanons come in:

Langris and Finesse both are very "quiet" in the way they show their love, neither one of them are going to plan the big romantic gestures or have these huge over-the-top love confessions, but they are both very devoted and steadfast people. They love spending time together, really just enjoying each other's company in these everyday moments as they have tea or tend to her garden together. Langris might not have the romanticism of someone like say Finral (those big "band" or fireworks"), but he takes care of her. He listens to her and remembers all these little details about her and her life. He pulls weeds from her garden when she mentions she's worried about it but too ill to tend her garden herself. He surprises her with a few of her favorite flowers or her favorite soup when she's feeling down. It's in these moments that Finesse sees that despite his somewhat frosty exterior, Langris really does have this soft side and cares very deeply about "his people." It's his soft steadfastness and devotion to her that really leads her to really fall in love with him. And when she does, she is a little shy about it and skirts around the topic, but ultimately, she is the one to confess first.

As for the Altan & Ezio cousin friendship part of the ask... It's so wholesome and makes me so happy that you care about my oc enough to ask about him. I like to imagine they would get along well and be good and supportive cousins and friends for each other so perhaps a bit generic (but one of my all-time favorite songs) I've chosen "You've Got A Friend" by James Taylor (the Carole King version is also excellent).

Related Headcanon:

As the older cousin, Ezio has always tried to look out for Altan, in a similar way to how Finral always tried to look out for Langris, but in this case, Altan has always felt comfortable coming to Ezio if he was ever in trouble or needed help. In return, Altan always tries to cheer Ezio up when he's feeling down (or heartbroken). He'll make a warm, comforting cup of tea for him (something he learned from his mother, Finesse) and is a great listener when/Ezio ever needs to talk about his troubles.

Notes:

I wholeheartedly believe that teaching is Eph’s true passion. While writing Overmorrow, I came to realize that his role as a teacher/master is necessary in ensuring that light and the will of the keyblade lives on, but it’s also something he would just genuinely enjoy doing on a personal level. Aside from being able to infodump to his heart’s content (that’s a big deal! 😄), he can also help, inspire, and lead as a teacher! I think if he does actually establish the Keyblade order/academy in canon, it would be his pride and joy

Eph’s actual classroom may not have looked like kh3/dr’s, but I like to believe it was probably similarly designed. (He learned a lot about teaching from Hestia 🥰)

i work the most with color balance, vibrance, select color, levels, and brightness. i enjoy working with dark scenes. a lot. you'd think i'm a bit of a masochist, and i do love the challenge, yet tbh sometimes they're easier for me than scenes that are lit brightly! bringing color back into washed-out scenes can be tougher than balancing the colors in a dark scene. but i've gotten so much better and seen myself grow, even in the last 8 months. for example, in this set: gifs 1 and 4 were scenes i had previously colored, back in december '22. here are their predecessors 1 (gif 3), & 2 (set). you can really see the difference!!

the discovery that i'm also getting better at correcting scenes that are mostly yellow, is something that makes me really happy, too, because that's what i used to struggle with the most while gifmaking.

If there's anywhere Grimsley loves, it's the beaches of Alola. He's always felt called to the sea; the salty sea-smell and the cold breeze that splashes his skin making feel alive in a way that's hard to explain. Usually, he prefers the darkness of the night, and the beach wouldn't seem to be his kind of place if you look at his image, but hey - even a man like him needs to relax sometimes, right?

When he spots the kid, he doesn't know who they are. If he'd been at Alola for longer, he might have heard of them - being a member of team Skull and a skilled trainer as well is enough to get a lot of eyes on you, both good and bad. But Grimsley's only been here for a short time, so what instead catches his attention isn't who they are - but the way they're looking at him, with a gaze so intense it almost leaves him feeling uncomfortable.

Keyword: almost. Uncle Grimsley doesn't let things let that put him off, after all. Chuckling to himself, he turns towards them fully instead, playing with the coin in his hands as he goes to speak.

"Hey, kid. Are you out here enjoying the sea-breeze too?" He asks, wondering if they recognize him as a former member of Unova's elite four, but not wanting to make assumptions. "Couldn't help but notice that frown on your face... maybe I can help you out?"

I just hate being away from you so much." He began pecking his lips all over your face, venturing down to your neck for a bit before finishing off with a deeper kiss to your own lips.

"I hope you didn't mind me being gone, Jonas. But, now that I'm back, what do you want to do?" He let go of you from his vice grip hug, smiling. "I have a lot of free time for now, so, we could watch a movie you want, order some food, maybe just have a cuddle session?" He held your hand as he spoke, his cheeks a bit red, as they always were when he was around you.

"But, those are all just suggestions. I'm fine with anything, really, as long as it's with you. You know how much I love you, right, Jonas?~"

I wasn't sure which of my stories to choose to add some director's commentary to, so I chose one of my smaller Black Clover works "A World Without You" which is a one-shot about Vanessa and Finral's platonic friendship and a conversation they had about what happened in the Forest of Witches arc.

I was inspired to write this story after having a conversation with a friend irl about that arc and how much it probably affected them and their characters. Since the Forest of Witches arc was one of my favorite arcs in the entire series, I was really excited about the opportunity to get to explore that especially since I hadn't really seen the aftermath of that arc talked about before.

There is one particular piece of dialogue I'd like to talk about:

“Finral, I…” Vanessa shook her head. Before she could stop it, a shaky, almost incredulous laugh escaped from her mouth. “You’re unbelievable, you know that?”

Finral looked up at her seemingly in spite of himself. “What?”

“You nearly died, and you’re worried about me…?” Vanessa shook her head again but smiled as she ruffled his hair. “We don’t deserve you...”

I'm a little nervous to admit this, but it was actually inspired by a conversation I had in real life. A dear friend of mine was once rushed to the hospital while I was thousands of miles away from home for school. Needless to say, I was kind of a wreck when I found out, but when his condition was finally stable and he called me to let me know he was doing okay, he was worried about me and rather than talk about himself, he immediately started asking if I was okay. It was sweet, but I was so surprised and basically said, "What in the world? You're in the hospital and you're worried about me? You're unbelievable."

That memory really came to mind when I was working on that story. I could just hear Vanessa and Finral having a similar conversation, especially in this context. Finral is so worried about Vanessa and everything that she went through and how he wasn't able to protect her in the Forest of Witches whereas Vanessa is just thinking "You almost died. Priorities, Finral." But I think that's the kind of person that Finral is. He thinks of his friends first and wants to make everyone happy. I liked getting to explore that side of him a little bit in that story, and, of course, the happy ending is getting to see him and Vanessa support each other as friends through what was a difficult time for them.

soo helloo and i think it's time for me to explain the deal with my characters and this whole "you're not supposed to be here" thing. EDIT: just fixed some stuff. thank you folks for your support, i really appreciate you all <3

i made these characters way back in june and by today they have a lot of lore around them in my head. i even have a dream to make a game with them but it's just a dream for now so i'm gonna try to explain the main things about this story. Obviously this is a long post, although I tried to keep this stuff short. and excuse me for my writing and any mistakes, I don't usually write this much text.

It starts with the world. Alternate 15th century, humanity is almost gone and what's left of it shares quite a big city with demons and angels. However, demons and angels are usually being treated like servants - eventually one gets tired of it all, so everyone knows an uprising is just around the corner. Let's just ignore that for now.

The City has a catch of it's own - it's alive. The walls have eyes and ears and the City knows every resident by heart and soul, both figuratively and literally. Usually City acts through the King, it chooses protectors for itself, ones who have strong minds to comprehend it - they will be called the royal knights, each of them have a company of a /more wiser than the rest of them/ demon and angel to help with their tasks. Only the King and ten royal knights know that the City is alive and very talkative but they don't understand fully what it's trying to tell them. Most of them choose to ignore the voices in their head because hey, that's what you do usually in this situation, otherwise they drive you nuts.

City is also extremely emotional and appearance depends on its condition. Usually it's a sunny day out and the city looks welcoming, but you don't want to be there when the City is scared: it might eat you alive by accident. Now that the environment is aside, time for the main three characters.

Imri is a young lad who will soon be a royal knight. He actually wanted to be a painter when he grows up but well, you cannot disobey the king's orders. Quite emotionless and a man of a few words, he tries to stay on a neutral ground between good and bad - a perfect candidate for manipulation to all three sides, demons, angels and the City.

Royal knights get to know their angel and demon companions at least a week before they get knighted to avoid any misunderstandings. Imri doesn't mind his friends at all, although one of them caused quite a fuss.

Angel /they name themselves Lyra/ is an overly positive, naive and blindly kind entity. A bit childish and very fond of justice, they try to act as a voice of conscience, not understanding that sometimes this can make everything even worse than it was. There is a feeling that they're trickier than it seems but you can never quite tell.

The demon though... That's not even a demon, that's the Devil himself. Yes, everyone knows who this is, everyone avoids him and he's not supposed to be here at all. Despite being THE Devil, he didn't try to do anything horrific yet and, when he's not joking around, he tries to be the voice of reason, the voice that no one listens to. He seems to know a lot more about this whole world than anyone else but he talks about it only when he wants to.

That's the main three. There is a few secondary characters, Imri's father being one of them.

sir Jastrab /or just Dell/ is one of the royal knights, he's a bit naive, loyal, and a soul so kind that his demon hung himself. Oh well. He lost one hand in what he calls "a work accident" which is partly true but he never goes into details.

He never wanted for his son to be a part of the knights because he knows by experience that it's not an easy job and not every father wants for their child to go insane from the voices in their head.

few people said that the angel accompanying him looks like d20 and so be it

The others are Sun and Moon - local deities, despite being on the sky every day and night, usually they don't really care about what's going on down below. You can still talk to them but don't expect much action. Regardless of all this, they are still loved by almost all living things. They can rarely meet each other but humans always depict them together no matter what. Although maybe humans are right...

Angels and demons come in all forms and sizes but those are the main population - lesser demons resemble the Devil in some ways and lesser angels look like clovers. Rivals usually but when the revolution happens, they learn to tolerate and work with each other. Humanity doesn't really have a chance.

they hate everyone equally And there is another being, that Imri meets a few times through the story - it's Death. Death is just having fun in this end of the world and there is a lot of work to be done.

this is an old and rough design so maybe it'll change The whole story begins at that day when Imri is supposed to be knighted. Everything seemed fine until Imri gets to hear the City for the first time and realizes that he hears and sees a lot more than everyone else. Completely overwhelmed he blacks out - even the toughest of minds often can't take it - and wakes up later only to find out that the King got killed somehow, angels and demons saw this as the starting point for a revolution and the City starts to panic.

Now Imri, guided by his companions and the voice of scared City that's crumbling and slowly drives him insane, shall travel to the center of it to find out what really happened, getting through demons and angels who are busy destroying the rest of humanity. Fun.

There is a lot more to this whole thing but I cannot tell the entire plot because spoilers, in case if i actually will make something out of this story. Think of it as a game lore. I'm not sure about making sth yet because i operate only on hopes and dreams and i barely have any strength lately but who knows... But now you have at least some context! And yeah, thank you if you actually read all of this, you're a hero.
