okay here's one for your DA OCs and the canonical LIs dfkgjsg how about Taylor + Alistair, Evanna + Isabela, aaaand Rasha + Sera?

Sierra!!! Thank you for the ask ❤ It was so much fun to think about and I wrote more about my own considerations while playing rather than from their character perspective maybe but still it was a lot of fun!! It got long so I'll put it under a readmore sdjdsj

Taylor + Alistair Okay so when I first played DAO the friend who recommended it to me was obsessed with Alistair so I was like 80% sure Id romance him on her recommendation. But then Leliana barged in and I was like wow pretty girl so then I was sure Id romance her. But then Zevran happened. Listen. He swept Taylor off her feet as much as he swept me. Taylor probably would fit just as good if not better with someone else but,, how can I resist.

SO specifically Alistair: I think Taylor was subconsciously still very wary of humans. The timing wasn’t the best, with a human man ruining her entire familys life just before a human man ripped her away from said family and putting her in a position with the mostly human grey wardens. Yes Alistair is half elven and very kind and they became friends instantly and that’s why Taylor didn’t have a nervous breakdown at Ostagar, but trauma is trauma and I don’t think Taylor could help not fully opening up to Alistair at first, even if she didn’t realize it. And I also think Taylor doesn’t consider herself an option for affection? No actually, that’s not true, she does know that she’s lovable etc but it doesn’t immediately occur to her that she’s lovable in the romantic sense. She also worked hard as a teen to not be considered an option. Someone having a crush or potential interest is so foreign to her, someone would have to be very blunt about it for it to click.

Instead, she and Alistair in my canon are very very close but more in the best friend sibling-y sense.

However, while it isn’t in my canon, I do think Taylor and Alistair could have been adorable together. Their personalities complement each other pretty well and they’d be even more grossly mushy if they were together romantically. It would definitely also change my outcome of DAO; Alistair would have absolutely not become king, and Kieran would have two moms and a dad. Thank you.

Evanna + Isabela Again, truly an option I considered in DA2. Lets go over my considerations real quick. The same friend that loved Alistair a lot also loved Fenris a lot, so instead of being sure Id romance him (like I thought with Alistair), now I was sure I wasn’t going to. Idk why. I love Fenris truly. My personal fav candidate was Anders cause I love him and that’s Taylors son, you know. But he was so annoying in da2 god bles he reminded me of one of my irl friends so much and me and my irl friend have a very good gay-bi alliance going on so that’s what I did with Evanna and Anders but then in reverse. It doesn’t have to make sense it makes sense in my head, and so Evanna was officially a lesbian. Merrill is absolutely endearing and the best and I think she understands more than anyone how Evanna struggles with relating to people.

That being said, Isabela and Evanna would be amazing together, but would also wreck Kirkwall even more than it already is wrecked. They would be unstoppable. They are the true mean bi and meaner lesbian couple that is met with awe anywhere they go. However, Evanna would not push Isabela to not be afraid of being loved anymore. Evanna isn’t that socially gifted and she wouldn’t say the right things at the right time and I just don’t think that would be right for a romantic relationship with Isabela. Evanna cares about Isabela, obviously, but I don’t think she’s got enough empathy to understand what she’s going through.

Rasha + Sera Ok so for Rasha, her being a vashoth already limited some options. The same friend who really likes Alistair and Fenris obviously also likes Cullen (Im joking. But she does.) and I wouldn’t consider him an option for Rasha even if she was an option for him. I knew in advance but was really sad that Cass wasn’t an option. Rash was being friendly galpalls (read: flirting) with Josie when the chargers mission happened and then Rasha could be a bit nicer to Bull and the rest is history. For Sera.. I don’t think she and Rasha would really match? Rasha likes and even trusts Sera (which is a huge deal for her) but I don’t think she trusts her enough to let her pull her out of her shell. Like, Rasha takes things very seriously in the inquisition and goes along with the pranks etc. cause Sera is right and things shouldn’t be serious all the time, but Rasha is very good at compartmentalizing that. I also think that Sera would get too nervous about Rasha being as paranoid as she is. Although I do agree they’d be very cute together, I don’t think they’d match.

Chapter 8 ☆Sorry not Sorry☆

A:N: Not my best chapter, just a filler if I'm being honest 🤷🏿‍♀️ photo and gifs, thanks to Pinterest.

Jet. Laged.

We faced the Nationals in the NDLS, and of course, we won 4-0. Now, we're back home in the ATL, preparing for the NLCS (National League Championship Series), where our opponents are the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Interestingly enough, they had their press conference today and said some very interesting things about me, which I couldn't care less about. You have the nerve to say and quote, “I mean, she's good, but I don’t think she’s good enough to beat us.”

As I sit down for my press conference, I usually would keep some comments to myself, but as of right now, all gloves are off. “How was practice Sierra?”

“Good, a little chilly, but it was fine,” I respond with a shrug.

And the question that everyone wanted to ask got fired off next: “Any response to the comments that were made earlier today by the Dodgers.’

I pull a slight smirk on my face and nod my head. “I was good enough to win Rookie of the Year. I was good enough to win MVP. And I was good enough to win a Gold Glove. I think I'll be great enough to beat the Dodgers,” I answer confidently.

The room noticed the slight change in demeanor because the questions afterward were very short and to the point. Sorry not Sorry

Game Day was here, and I was more than ready to go. I had just finished lacing my cleats when a notification popped up on my phone. Normally, I wouldn't check my phone so close to game time, but full of curiosity, I checked it anyway.

Joe Burrr 🧡

Hey, you don't have to respond. I know you're in your zone. I just wanted to say go kill it out there tonight. You made it this far, so don't let them drag you back over some petty comments, even though your clapback was funny as hell, lol. I know you got this. Good luck! And no hits to the face.

I smile at the message and chuckle at the last part. As if I needed more confidence boost, Joe just put the cherry on top with this. I didn't respond but reacted to his message with a heart.

He's right. I busted my ass for his moment, and ill be damned if, like he said, some petty comments stop me. With my heart racing and excitement bubbling, I stepped out of the locker room, ready to face what lay ahead. The atmosphere was electric, filled with the cheers of fans and the buzz of anticipation. It was time to prove myself once again.

Here we are: Game 7—the climactic finale of this intense series. The stakes couldn't be higher; this game could either catapult us to the heights of glory or send us back to our living rooms, resigned to watching the World Series unfold from our couches, devoid of the thrill of competition.

The atmosphere felt electric, but we were up against the reality of not having home-field advantage. Every cheer from the opposing fans echoed in our ears, amplifying the pressure. As the scoreboard ominously displayed a 4-6 lead for our opponents in the bottom of the 7th inning, a collective sense of urgency enveloped our dugout.

It was my turn at bat. With each heartbeat resonating in my ears, I steadied myself in the batter's box, digging my cleats into the ground. I took a deep breath, visualizing my success, and when the pitcher threw the ball, I swung hard and made contact. The satisfying "crack" of the bat resonated through the stadium as I connected cleanly, sending the ball slicing into the outfield.

The crowd erupted, their cheers mingling with my own racing thoughts. I bolted down the first baseline, my legs pumping with adrenaline as I focused on reaching the safety of first base. A base hit! I knew it was enough to bring in a run, narrowing the gap and making us just a single run short of tying it up.

Now attention shifted to Ronny Mauricio, the rookie out of the Dominican Republic—a whirlwind of talent and potential. Watching him in action was like witnessing poetry in motion; he had an innate ability to read the game that belied his experience. I remained on first, breathless with anticipation as he took his stance in the batter's box. My teammate stood at third, equally poised for the moment.

The pitcher, sensing the mounting tension, cast a wary glance in my direction, gauging whether I might attempt to steal second. He then turned his focus back to Ronny, delivering the pitch with a swift motion. Ronny, with a keen eye, timed his swing perfectly, launching the ball deep into the outfield.

With my heart pounding, I took off, pushing myself to accelerate as I rounded second base. It felt like the world had faded away, leaving only the sound of my breath and the pounding of my heart. As I glanced toward the dugout, my third-base coach was a blur of determination, animatedly waving me on to keep running. His enthusiastic gestures spurred me further as I hurtled towards third base.

Rounding the base, I quickly turned my gaze back to the outfield. I could see the ball gliding through the air as the outfielders scrambled to retrieve it, their movements frantic as they prepared for the throw home. The anticipation twisted in my stomach, a mix of hope and fear. I was in the home stretch now.

Closing in on home plate, I went all out, knowing this was it. With a burst of energy, I dove forward, my body stretching toward the plate, conscious of every moment passing. I aimed to reach the base before the ball could get there, my fingertips longing to brush against the plate. As I hit the dirt, I felt the weight of the game pressing down, and with one final effort, I reached out, praying that my hand would touch the plate just as I made my desperate slide.

“SAFE!” The umpire shouted as I stood up. I clapped my hands as I walked back to the dugout, receiving pats on my back and on top of my helmet. New ballgame, gentlemen—6 to 6.

It all came down to this—bottom of the 9th, the scoreboard reading 7-6. We were just three outs away from securing our place in the World Series. As I stepped onto the field at shortstop, the tension in the air was palpable. The roar of the crowd surged around me as fans leaped to their feet, rallying behind our closing pitcher, Ryan Gonzalez.

The first out came swiftly—a high fly ball that one of our outfielders snagged with ease. The crowd cheered, but the tension only thickened.

The second out was even faster—a powerful strikeout that sent a wave of excitement through our dugout. But our hopes for a quick victory were tempered as the next batter approached the plate.

Shohei Ohtani.

Even in this high-stakes moment, the name alone sent a shiver down my spine. He’s already cemented his place in baseball history as a legend, and the energy shifted palpably as he walked up, bat in hand. The stadium, once a cacophony of cheers, fell eerily silent, all eyes fixed on Ryan as he prepared to pitch.

The first pitch whistled through the air, and Shohei connected—but it wasn’t to be. The ball sailed foul, slicing through the tension with a loud crack.

Ryan took a moment, steadied himself, and fired the second pitch—a slow ball that floated just outside the strike zone.

1-1.

The crowd watched with bated breath as the third pitch split the plate, a crisp strike that drew another round of cheers from our supporters.

1-2.

With just one out remaining, the atmosphere was electric. Ryan took a deep breath, and for a split second, time seemed to stand still as he wound up for the final pitch.

Shohei swung with all his might but came up empty. The moment the ball hit Ryan’s glove, a thunderous eruption of cheers engulfed the stadium, drowning out everything else. My heart raced as my teammates and I rushed the mound, a tidal wave of joy crashing over us. We shouted, leaped, and embraced one another in pure elation.

We had done it—we just won the National League Championship Series and earned our ticket to the World Series. I couldn't help but feel like the universe was smiling down on me. I truly felt like I was God's Child, blessed and ready for whatever came next.

As I stepped into the familiar warmth of my house, a relieved sigh escaped my lips as I leaned back against the heavy wooden door. The vibrant energy of my teammates still echoed in my mind, a reminder of the spirited celebration I struggled to keep up with. Despite my love for the camaraderie, I knew I was no match for their boundless enthusiasm, especially when it came to reveling in our recent victory.

Pushing myself off the door, I made my way toward my bedroom, the soft carpet cushioning my feet as I began to remove my jewelry, each piece a cherished memory of the night. The sudden buzz of my phone caught my attention, drawing me to my bed where it lay, face up, a bright light illuminating the dark room.

I picked it up and glanced at the screen, a smile spreading across my face as I recognized the sender.

"Hey, just landed in Dallas. Just wanted to say congrats and I'm proud of you, Ri."

A warm sensation spread through me, making my cheeks flush as I began to type my response. I could sense the exhaustion in his words, the faint hint of fatigue woven into the text.

"Thank you, baby, ❤️. Good luck on Monday."

My heart dropped into my stomach the moment I hit send. Oh no. Please tell me I didn’t just send that.

"Baby? That’s a new one…"

If I could’ve smacked myself right then and there, I would’ve done it without hesitation. What on earth possessed me to text him something so intimate?

Well, perhaps the remnants of the night’s festivities and the alcohol swirling in my system had something to do with it, but that was beside the point.

"Yeah…umm…"

"Lol It's okay Ri. Get some sleep. I'll call you before practice tomorrow."

Part of me wished he wouldn’t follow through on that, yet another part of me buzzed with excitement. It felt so wrong, yet undeniably thrilling, and I couldn’t shake the sensation that this small slip could change everything.

It had been an eternity since the smell of wood and polish had touched her nose. It has been way too long... "Mrs Pucey, it's nice to see you again after all these years!" Ollivander greeted his customer and former apprentice. Suddenly the thought of how sad and unfortunate it was that she had broken off her apprenticeship passed through his head. She was a such talented witch when it came to dealing with wands finding their wizard!

"It's also nice to see you again, Mr Ollivander.", Sierra replied. She gave the wand maker a smile and tore him out of his thoughts with her voice. He immediately noticed that her smile was covered by a sad shadow.

"But the name is no longer Pucey! It's been Ms Malfoy again for a few months now.", Sierra explained. This explained the sad smile on her lips. Ollivander gave the young woman an encouraging look. "I'm sorry.", Ollivander replied honestly. Then the older man was seized by curiosity, "If I may allow myself the question, how did it come to this? On your last visit, everything was fine and you were still in love." A sigh came over Sierra's lips. Her last visit at Ollivander’s was a while ago. At least three years! Since then, a lot has changed in her family environment. That was already a year ago...

"That's what I thought.", Sierra finally confessed. "But apparently a woman who has given birth to two children is neither attractive nor worth anything. Otherwise you wouldn't cheat on them several times and that over the past two years!" A crooked and sad smile sat on her lips. Ollivander opened his mouth to comfort his former apprentice, but the doorbell rang. Sierra's 11-year-old daughter hesitantly pushed her way through the store. The mother stretched out her hand to her child, which the young witch immediately took. Then she turned to the wand maker one last time. "You can't do anything about it.", Sierra added. "But it's been a few months now and I'm fine. I have made my peace with it." Sierra squeezed her daughter Lucy's hand before gently grabbing her shoulders and pushing her gently into Ollivander's direction. "Just go with him! Mr Ollivander will introduce you to some wands. You know how this works." Lucy nodded. "The magic wand chooses the wizard.", she quietly quoted her mother and also the well-known wand maker because it is what he always say. Sierra nodded. "Exactly.", Sierra confirmed her daughter. After these words, Lucy disappeared between the high shelves. Ollivander did not follow the girl directly. Before Ollivander went after the witch, he turned to Sierra once again. "If anyone is worthless, it's Adrian and his disgusting behavior and not a strong woman like you, Ms Malfoy!", he wanted to get of his chest. Now a honest smile lit up Sierra's face. "Thank you, Mr Ollivander." It came from the bottom of her heart, but there was still something on her tongue. "But not feeling useless and worthless after such an experience is almost impossible. He also called me worthless countless times!"

Sierra happily winked at her old schoolmate. "What an honor!", the young mother laughed. "Harry Potter. The ex-chosen one and the best Auror of the ministry. And not to forget the husband of the most famous Quidditch player in England." Embarrassed, Harry rubbed his neck and smiled crookedly. "Former auror and ex-husband.", he confessed. Suddenly, Sierra's grin became very soft. "I'm sorry." But Harry waved it off. Apparently, he didn't take it so hard. "You don't have to be!", he clarified. "Ginny has now known for a year and a half that she likes women and she has also found a girlfriend in Luna. I am happy for them! For both of them. I want her to be happy." Sierra nodded. "Of course! It's glad that Ginny knows that now. But you also seem to be doing well," she noted. "Yes," Harry affirmed. "I loved her very much, but if she's not happy in a marriage with a man, I won't hold her back. And in addition, I have also noticed that I only love her as my best friend and that’s what we are. Everyone is happy and that's the main thing." With these words the topic didn’t need to be discussed more for both divorced wizards. "That's really good to hear! But as the new teacher in Hogwarts, it's beneficial to have a functioning wand.", Harry said, laughing. Sierra giggled along. It was as if she was 16 again! "Teacher at Hogwarts?", she tried to focus on Harry's words. The experienced wizard nodded proudly. It couldn't fill him with more pride than to be able to teach in the first place he had called his home! "In front of you stands the new teacher for defense against the Dark Arts! It is rumored that he will be teaching at Hogwarts for more than a year because he survived death twice.", Harry joked. Laughing, Sierra shook her head and wiped her forehead. "There is clearly no better teacher for these lessons than you! And now I know that my child will have the perfect teacher for such an important subject. I still vividly remember the hours of Dumbledore's army!" A wheez escaped Harry at this statement. Then he shook his head as if he couldn't believe it. But no one knew what he couldn't believe until Harry said it out loud! "After all these years, I still can't believe that a Malfoy has joined us!" For this, Harry received a clearly annoyed look from Sierra. Her father's reputation and her brother's former reputation haunted the woman through every situation in her life. As if she had to be the same just because of that cursed last name... Cursed in the truest sense of the word! "I'm sorry to get you off your dream cloud, but I'm not my dad or the teen Draco!", Sierra snapped and crossed her arms. "And if I may remind you of my mother, who also owns the surname Malfoy." From both wizards, the thoughts wandered to the story between Narcissa and Harry, when she had protected him from Voldemort. Sierra had stood right next to her mother and heard every single word! Now Harry's features were flooded with regret. "I know and I'm sorry! That was another stupid thought that didn't let go of me in my youth and apparently hasn't let go of it completely even now.", added the well-known Potter. After a moment of silence, Harry spoke again. "I'm looking already forward to seeing you again, Sierra." A tender smile pulled the corners of his mouth upwards. Sierra's anger smoked away and she returned his smile. "I feel the same way!"

Suddenly, Harry chuckled quietly. Sierra tilted her head because she didn't understand why he had started laughing. But she didn't have to ask, as Harry clarified it on his own. "I just had to think about our school days.", he said, looking dreamily into the air. "We really had a lot of beautiful moments together. Also some who were very tense!" You could see that he actually wanted to say something. Instead, he bit his lip and slid his fingers embarrassed as he felt through his raven-black hair. Harry let his gaze wander through the store before he managed to. "Because of this tension, Fred and George always said that you were in love with me.", Harry concluded what he had started. Sierra giggled. "Funny that you mention it! I actually had quite a crush on you in our fifth year." “Mommy! Let's go now. I already have my wand!", Lucy squealed and pukked her mother's sleeve. Sierra looked at her daughter with a mild smile, while Lucy continued to talk to her. But first, the witch turned again to her friend. "Goodbye, Harry! Hopefully we'll see each other again." Harry couldn't respond because Lucy mercilessly pulled her mother out of the business. Now Harry could only wave at Sierra.

A few days later, an owl fluttered through one of the high windows of the Malfoy residence. Sierra lived there with her two daughters since the divorce. Draco and her mom lived in other houses and their dad was still in Azkaban. So the three witches had the whole property to themselves! Frowning, Sierra rose and took the letter from the bird's beak. From whom should the letter be? She had only written a letter to her mother and brother yesterday. She removed the wax seal, which did not belong to anyone in her family, and took the parchment from its envelope.

Dear Sierra,

I can't believe I'm saying something like that because I've always hated divination. But I think it was a sign that we met each other today. I decided for myself this morning that I am ready again for a new love or at least to meet new people in this regard! An hour later you are standing right in front of me. The girl - today, of course, the woman - with I was head over heels in love in the fourth and fifth year! When I saw you, all the old feelings came right back and I thought maybe it was finally my chance. Or our chance! However, you want to see it. But now I've talked enough about it! I am writing you this letter because I wanted to ask you if you are interested in going out with me. Maybe it's stupid to calculate my chances just because you said that you felt something for me at the time!

It was really nice to meet you again after all these years!

Her heart tensed as Sierra laid down the letter. It was filled with such pretty, but he was not the first man in her life to wrap her around her finger with wonderful words. Sierra was not willing to give away her heart again! Above all, she could not expect her children to let someone into their hearts who might disappear. She didn't want to take the risk! Not when it was about her children. With a heavy heart, Sierra picked up parchment and feather to write Harry an answer.

Dear Harry,

This letter is probably not the answer you expected, but it wouldn't be fair to write anything else. I'm sorry, but I have to disappoint you! Unfortunately, I cannot accept this kind of invitation. But if you would like that, we could meet for a coffee. On friendship basis, of course, I would be happy to see you again! It has been far too long.

After she had written the short letter and the ink had dried on the parchment, she gave the sealed envelope to the recovered owl. For Sierra, this wasn’t a matter of fact anymore. At least for her mind. Her heart and soul cried in silence.

The lightning lit up the entire sky for a second, which was shrouded in thunder clouds. When the thunder sounded just a blink later, Sierra was glad that her 5-year-old Amy was already sleeping soundly and was keeping her midday rest. Amy was terrified of thunderstorms and after that hectic morning, Sierra needed a moment to take a deep breath. As soon as she had dropped on the armchair, a heavy knock echoed through the villa. A soft sigh slipped over Sierra's lips as she walked to the door. All the exhaustion was suddenly forgotten when the tired mother opened the door and froze. Harry Potter was on her doorstep! "Harry?!", she gasped. "What are you doing here?" "I don't get it! I just don't understand your answer.", it burst out of the completely soaked Harry, who immediately stormed into the house. Confused, Sierra followed her old schoolmate into the dining room, which he headed for. "I'm confused. What exactly don't you understand?", Sierra replied. Harry abruptly turned to the young woman. "I don't understand why you wrote this to me. Why can't you go out with me? It sounds like you want to in your letter, but something is holding you back. If it is not like this, please look me in the eye and tell me that and I will leave. But if it's not like that, please tell me the truth!" demanded Harry to know. Passion blazed in his eyes and it also flared up in Sierra. "It just doesn’t work. Okay?!" Harry shook his head. "Nothing is okay! You're dodging me." he accused his former classmate. Then she snorted. "Yeah and?" His manner made them defiant. What he could do, she could do anyway! "I know you're hiding something from me! I just don't understand why." This caused all the dams in Sierra to break. "YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY I WON'T GO OUT WITH YOU?! MY HUSBAND CHEATED ON ME FOR YEARS! I MARRIED HIM AT THE DEMAND OF MY FAMILY, FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM, HAD CHILDREN; WHICH I LOVE ABOVE ALL AND ALL THIS TO BE LIED TO AND CHEATED ON." Tears poured down her face and she fell to her knees. Sierra lacked the strength to keep on his feet. It was just too much! "I can't trust myself with love. Not again! And I can't let my kids be hurt by me possibly being left by someone I might love again."
