Some art-advice asks I've been meaning to reply to!

I use Clip Studio Paint Pro, though I'm not sure what tips I could give just in general. Just experiment with new things often, draw as much as your lifestyle allows, watch how other people do their work but try to avoid "Dont do THIS thing ever" type lessons and tutorials. Use as much reference as you'd like and take your time! To this day a simple sketch can still take me several hours to do depending on what it is.

Thank you so much!!! I didn't do any kind of formal art schooling but I've always been inclined towards arts and crafts, and started taking drawing semi seriously when I was about 17 (I'm 27 now). I draw a lot of inspiration from western comics and my favorite artists are jason shawn alexander and sean murphy.

Oh I'm so flattered to hear my stuff's inspired you to take up drawing again, I have a bunch of little crafty hobbies but art is by far the most fulfilling one to me - largely because you're constantly learning and improving.

You're definitely onto something already, I am constantly looking at other people's art (even If it isn't a style I would want to emulate) and analyzing how the pieces come together to create the final product. In my opinion this is pretty much the best way you can go about learning besides real-life reference drawing. You can even take something into your software of choice/print it out and trace it (just to yourself, of course) to get a sense of hand-motion and line use.

As a beginner I think there's no shame at all in taking heavy inspiration from your favorite artists, as long as you aren't straight up copying things and calling them your own. Your personal style Is likely to come out naturally, with time. That's very much how I started myself!

Also, just be patient with yourself, try to have realistic goals for your skill level while simultaneously being proud of everything you do. Even if you absolutely despise a drawing, you still drew something! And even if it doesn't feel that way you most definitely learned from it. Use learning tools and tutorials to whatever point you feel comfortable with but don't get stuck on people's arbitrary rules - unless we're talking about something tangible like real-life application of traditional art tools, things like anatomy, perspective and light are to be referenced from - but It's not the goal to emulate them 100% unless you ARE going for hyperrealism. As someone who uses a ton of reference these days, I can tell you first-hand that I often find myself straying from it on purpose to make a piece look more interesting.

Lastly, draw things you enjoy! Don't let anyone else dictate what you SHOULD be doing and don't fall into the trappings of wanting to stick to one specific style, process, or subject matter.

question for the ghoap x reader scenario, basically I turn fucking insane if I don't have my ADHD medication, lots of exercise, and at least some being outside every day. so how would simon and johnny react to the sweet pet they kidnapped go nuts. like just insane. for me personally, I also get a rage problem especially without the exercise. like just blowing up at everything and I have to constantly step away from every situation so I dont hurt anyones feelings. but in this scenario, a) you literally CANT step away, and b) you're pissed about being kidnapped so you don't care if you hurt their feelings. idk, how do you think this would play out?? if this doesn't speak to you, feel free to ignore!! btw love this fic and all the companion ask answers/drabbles❤️❤️❤️

anything with adhd speaks to me! i'm diagnosed but not medicated, so i'm not sure i can write that aspect particularly well, but i am very intimately familiar with the struggles of adhd in general lol.

i think most of the struggles between you three would come from them learning what you need. you clam up real tight when they ask anything about you, unwilling to be soft and personal with your literal kidnappers. but that goes wrong pretty quickly, since you need certain things but refuse to tell them. kinda like a scared animal who refuses to let it's handlers get close enough to find where it's hurt.

it would be simon who picks up on it first. the restless energy, the way you have to move constantly or you start getting snippy, they're elements he's seen in johnny for years. he knows how to work with it once he spots it.

there's a gym in the building they live in (just pretend lol) so they're more than willing to go down there with you. as long as you're working on a machine directly next to them, and with at least one of your hands in one of theirs on the whole walk down and back up.

i've talked about how i think they'd react when reader gets pissed before, so i don't really want to again here just because i think i'll get a little redundant lol <3

Awase - he loves listening to you tell the plot of whatever your writing currently and he'll even jump in every now and then with his own ideas

Sen - his favorite pass time is takeing you both to random pretty places so you can sit on a bench and write while he takes pictures of the scenery. Just the two of you doing your own thing next to eachother is more than enough for him

Kamakiri - he would read over whatever you wrote and correct your punctuation and grammar for you with absolutely zero judgment for whatever you wrote <3

Kuroiro - he writes a lot too I think so the two of you would proof read eachothers stuff. his will always be some dark and edgy poem, while yours is always a different genre lol

Kendo - shes always so eager to proofread your stories. After she reads them she will tell you what she thought and gives you genuine feedback while complimenting the work itself. Shes your number one fan.

Kodai - she loves listening to you ramble about whatever story your working on almost as much as she loves proof reading it to make sure the grammar is all right

Komori - everytime you write she asks to be a character in the story <3 even if its just a shop keeper that only appears for 5 minutes shes always jumping for joy if you put her in the story

Shiozaki - she is the queen of getting you out of writers block. She loves watching you write and hearing your story ideas so she dedicates herself to make sure you dont get into that slump ykyk

Shishida - he makes you some tea for you to drink whenever you write. Hes also happy to help with litterally anything, grammar, the story or character themselves, anything at all.

Shoda - he spends most of his time staying in the same room as you when your writing. Just far enough to where he isn't in your immediate area but close enough if you need something. (Please ask him for a glass of water or smthn he just wants to help in any way he can)

Pony - shes not scared to cling to your side and ask questions about your story that youve been working on. She always comes up with some dramatic ass plot twist that is 20x better than whatever you had planed lmao

Tsubaraba - hes constantly joking about how you should write a story about him being yoir knight in shining armor but he actually stops functioning if you actually make him a story like that <3

Tetsutetsu - hes constantly calling the main characters or heros of the story manly while scolding the villains for being so un-manly. Youve had to explain to him that good stories have ups and downs like 20+ times lmao

Tokage - she would be so intrigued by your writing that she would start writing too. She wouldent tell anyone that shes writing a story and the only way you knew is because she showed you the finished product <3

Manga - you two will make comics together and its honestly the best <3 you do the storytelling and he draws the comic itself. Its to the point that the entire class is anticipating its end (in a good way I mean)

Honenuki - writing (by computer, on a phone, or by pencil) for extended periods of time can cause a few issues with your hands so honenuki makes sure that all of the muscles in your hands are worked out and dont have any pent up stress after each writing session

Bondo - he loves reading your stories and helping you with ideas while your writing but most of the time he just stays near you if you need a second opinion. He only leaves to go make you both tea and get you some snacks

Monoma - this is the only thing monoma wouldn't tease you about. Hes a big fan of all things art related (art, writing, theater, ect.) He heavily encourages you to write and even compliments it often (not on front of the others ofc)

Reiko - she canonically reads a lot so I like to think she writes a lot too. You both would write for eachother and proof read eachothers works. It helps you both become better writers at a pretty quick pace.

Rin - hes your number 1 fan. Everytime he reads something you wrote he would give you feedback while simultaneously telling you how much he loved it. Hes also pretty good at getting you out of writers block.

i love your replies to the writer’s ask! about the compliment you gave yourself, yes. i do agree. i’m trying to recall which HQ fanfic of yours i first read. i’ve read so many of your works from that era. as i’m sieving through my memories, a few works of yours pop up like kageyama & the world responding?? daichi’s story with the prompt on goodbyes? adore the way you hook and drag. without looking at your masterlist, which story immediately comes to mind when you think of “time”?

i think the reason i fell so in love with it is because every single line is so vivid. not to say that most of his other poems aren't like this as well but like. idk something about this just spoke to me so much? i love love love metaphors about like irl things turning /into/ paper or ink or like... writing-related stuff. it's just such a beautiful image to me. also like there's a phrase in every line that strikes me "reams of silver", "brisk emporium" -- and something about the sentence "the world is full of paper" makes me like want to yell bc it's so??? GOOD??? bc yes!!! the world is full of paper!!!!!

this entire summer has just been kind of ass tbh??? like. during the single month of july, we had 4 people in my family/friend circle pass away -- 2 grandparents, 1 uncle, 1 friend of a friend (who was literally only 24yrs old!!! bruh!!!! WTF!!!). we thought August was going to be chiller, but nope. last day of Aug, last thursday, my boss's wife passed away after battling with cancer for 2+ years.

it hit hard for our entire team at work bc like. she was younger than my mom. and my boss is such an industry veteran, and he and his wife have been married for 17 years, they have a 13yr old son like... it just sucked all around. we all went to the funeral this past wednesday. it was a beautiful service, but obviously really freaking sad. half our entire office was there, everyone was crying. i was crying like. it was a mess.

and then right after, i think my body had had ENOUGH of this nonsense, and i got a really bad fever literally ONE HOUR after i got home from the funeral. and i've been sick since then.

it's just been... unreasonably rough... i'm really hoping that this is the last big bad thing that's gonna happen for the rest of the year. like. im so exhausted -- pls @ the universe LOL. take it easy on us okay.

so yeah. i try to keep the heavy stuff off this blog bc it's supposed to be a place where i come to be happy and write things that make me happy so i haven't talked about this much but u__u since you asked, i didn't wanna just be like "oh yeah everything is fine" when it's not LOL

lilia doesn’t have a type. he takes people as they come which is really good. so he would definitely do best with someone who was less judgmental. the man has been around for so long. he’s seen everything and just came to the conclusion that it doesn’t really matter to him. as long as you’re not conspiring to kill him or malleus or anyone else at least. i do believe the quality to make him fall in love with you would be your generosity. you have no problem sharing and giving to people which he finds refreshing.

silver needs someone who is patient. this goes without debate. if you’re not patient with him and/or have a short temper, you’ve not going to last. he needs someone who will take the time to wake him up and won’t get frustrated. you’re relaxed and very easy going, a go-with-the-flow kind of person. what would make him fall in love with you is a simple mundane task: you waking him up. he sees you with a smile on your face as you tell him “good morning sleepyhead!” and it makes his heart race.

i believe trey doesn’t exactly have a type? he feels like he’s not someone who cares much about certain qualities. as long as you’re not an asshole, i’m certain he will fall for you.

i think, funnily enough, cater needs a significant other who doesn’t care or even have social media. he’s pretty obsessed with social media already so someone who doesn’t care or have it will ground him in reality. what would make cater fall for you is your sarcasm. i believe cater would love a sarcastic significant other because they’re just so funny. “why are you talking like that? please talk without text acronyms.”

ace would like someone who isn’t strict. he dealt with riddle once. he cannot deal with another riddle again. he definitely needs someone who is opinionated. if you’re not confident in your opinions that’s also okay! ace is willing to do the heavy lifting here. what would make ace fall in love with you is your big heart. you care for your friends and go the extra mile to make them happy and feel better if they’re feeling down. he needs that.

deuce space

deuce would fall for an honors student. hands down. i believe he would. he’s attracted to your nice exterior but what really makes him fall in love with you is your brashness. in this manner, i believe you would be similar to epel. seemingly gentle and innocent but you have quite a mouth and you don’t hold back your opinions. it certainly gets you in trouble but it also means you stick up for the people you care about.

not surprisingly, with vil being vil, he would be attracted to someone well put together. and it’s not just appearance wise either. all of your shit needs to be in order. work, appearance, finance. everything. vil would also, most definitely, be attracted to ambition. that’s something he treasures most in people and that’s what’s going to make you fall for him.

there is no type with this man. he does not give a single fuck. as long as you’re interesting enough, he will get to know you and however you are, he will fall for you.

epel needs someone down to earth. it’s notable that he comes from an apple farming family and i presume that he’s more middle class. pomefiore is clearly filled with people who have money, much more than epel does. being surrounded by people like that would do a number on him. so he needs someone humble, someone that can understand class differences. i believe that’s also what makes him fall for you because you are his only escape from the constant chatter of rich people.

leona would be attracted to someone with ambition and intelligence. he values intelligence in particularly high regard and would like to have a significant other who can converse with him in long discussions. i say ambition because he also needs someone to help kick his ass around a little and get him to do the things he says he’s going to do. ironically, what would make him fall for you is your honesty. your bluntness, even if it can be perceived as rude at times, means you don’t sugar coat and leona’s tired of hearing sugar coated words that mean nothing.

ruggie bucchi

similar to epel, i believe ruggie would be attracted to someone who’s down to earth and humble. if you’re rich, that’s a big turn off for him. he needs someone who understands where he comes from (which is from the slums as implied in book 2). i think what would make him fall in love with you is your carefree nature and your lack of shame. you’re confident and you couldn’t care less about what other people think. it also means you don’t judge other people either and ruggie needs that lack of judgement. i feel like he’s definitely been heavily judged by his fellow nrc students so he needs someone that’s entirely different.

jack howl

jack needs someone with as much ambition as him. he values ambition, as seen with his admiration for leona. he wouldn’t necessarily care if you played sports or not but i think he’s more inclined to be attracted to athletes because he himself is one. so you guys can be on a similar schedule or something. what makes him fall for you is your competitive spirit. it most certainly happens after throwing a ball in his face too.

jade needs someone similar to him. he already has to deal with his twin brother and with azul. so it only makes sense that he needs someone as organized as he is. i believe he would fall in love with you because, despite being organized, you aren’t formal and you don’t treat jade formally. it makes it feel a lot more personal. you liking mushrooms would certainly add to his attraction.

floyd needs someone as carefree and chaotic as he is. him having someone who wants to manage a schedule would only drive him crazy. he needs someone he can go on a joyride with on a whim, someone who is laid back and go with the flow. i think the moment he fell in love with you was probably during a mundane moment where the two of you were having fun together.

I have a lot of interests, i love to draw and write and im learning to play the ukelele! I love science and always have loved science and i want to be a scientist one day, either an astrophysicist or maybe something to do with chemistry? I also like things like rocks and rodents and food. I like to cook and organize things, though i dont enjoy baking very much. Finally i also love playing video games and photoshopping stupid stuff. Main rapper, Kenma’s got bars and he can lowkey ruin someone’s career with a single diss track 😳  (he can sing too, has a pretty voice but denies it so he avoids singing most of the time).

MMM his fashion sense as well YES. Like have you seen those fanarts of Kenma rocking streetwear, yeah he would wear exactly that at the airport or somethin. 

Ofc a huge gamer, he will most likely be seen on his switch backstage, during breaks, on the plane, during vlogs, etc.

Being his manager, Kenma finds you very endearing and he’s always blushing and nervous around you. 

He hides his face behind his switch when he asks something from you awwwh 

He won’t mention you in interviews but when he is asked he will just be like “yeah.. i guess she’s pretty cool” with a light pink dusting his cheeks.

Kenma probably wouldn’t have the courage to initiate a relationship in fear of ruining a lot of things. But if it were to happen y’all are super lowkey and good at hiding it.

Yet overall, very wholesome. If a member were to walk into his dressing room unannounced they would see the sight of Kenma laying his head in your lap and playing his games while you play with his hair.

OH the most fitting character as an idol and for sure the most famous out of everyone. 

Main vocalist hands down (ponyo ponyooo-)

Oikawa is always and I mean always bombarded with the press and fangirls anywhere he goes.

It seems like the only time he has alone time is when he’s in his dressing room with the doors locked and he only allows you inside. 

You two naturally got closer, you were the least annoying thing in his life so he felt comfortable around you and he found it fun to tease you every now and then.

Like he's all "ah yes I need to marry off watson and uhhh make sherlock ummmm interact with a woman so they dont look gay" but he does it SO BADLY that it makes them look EVEN GAYER

cause i mean, even the conversation they had about watson getting married back in sign of four was gay af, but how Doyle handled things afterward was in no way straighter.

Cause you know, the man kind of wrote himself into a corner with the fact of Watson narrating these stories. So Watson has to be around to witness them, and to witness Sherlock's own thought process rather privately, so he has to be around sherlock at night, a lot. But trying to come up with a reason for that happening just... it didn't occur to Doyle. He just went. Ah yes this makes sense. And it's Watson just like Sleeping Over At Sherlock's like every other goddamn day and every time his wife leaves town and having them basically still live that cute domestic home life but they have absolutely no excuses for doing it anymore. It's quite funny

and since you quite literally have no friends in this big ass building and there aren’t many co-workers who are your age you kind of hold onto the nice yakiniku sandwiches on the fourth floor

it gets rough in a new workplace for the first time ://

so the sandwiches become your routine - around 5-6pm, you’re coming down a whole sixteen floors otw home but also to get that nice thick yakiniku sandwich

Hello, I just finished Saeran’s after ending and I have a lot of things to say and I am going to write it down while I'm still all keyed up about it.

First of all… Please DO NOT ask me how much money I spent to finish this as fast as I did…. I’m grown but my bank account is certainly going to have a good ole fashioned CHUCKLE at this….. It’s been a long quarantine I deserve a lil happiness as a treat methinks!

I have been playing this absolutely insane game since I think 2016? When I first started playing the deep routes had JUST come out I think? And I was just finishing up high school and am now a college grad...lmao

I’ve played all routes at least once except Jaehee but i’ve seen walkthroughs of her route (I’ve heard it makes you hate Jumin and he’s my favorite so um. hehe). V’s and Saeran’s routes I found to be so emotionally intense and just….a lot and I've been waiting a long ass god damn time for this after ending okay…. I would theorize and make up an ending in my head but i’m no writer so it was hard to figure out lol. I’m a Jumin stan mostly but I love everybody and yeah I should probably play that jumin dlc too but I need like a DAY to recover from Saeran’s AE. Enough about me HERE are my thoughts on it overall

Rika’s change in demeanor from Saeran's actual route is certainly a Choice. I find her much more bearable this time around and unfortunately i think I was too nice to her and ended up with a bad end LMFAO

I was happy to see Saeran stand up for himself and become stronger and confident. You go king!

HOWEVER YUP I sure did get a bad ending and I was so mad fdsafdskfdhsf ! (I would be happy to clarify how I got the good one the second time.) MAKE SURE To SAVE EARLY in days 2 and 3 bc the branches on day 4 is where the bad end will show up. For me it was the first day 4 chat and then a story mode titled “SAVIOR”.... If you see that RUN FOR THE HILLS!!

I was so mad! But I had saved in day 2 and replayed and MANAGED to get good end

I think it was satisfying TO A DEGREE….To see Rika understand where she was wrong, why she was wrong, fess up and even APOLOGIZE! I was very surprised.

Saeran and Saeyoung are Certainly twins with the amount that those two self sacrifice in every route MY GOD…..

The scene with Jumin talking to his father and the other scene of him praying oh my god I cannot tell you how happy I was to see him begin to understand and address his own feelings in a route that was not his own. My main problem with Jumin’s route has always been the trapping MC in his penthouse aspect.. This way Jumin understands love and emotions without being overly possessive !!! YAY also loved seeing him be on good terms with his dad who was surprisingly profound

That last Story mode was Really a Lot…. and Strange things occurred which I will get into in just a minute

Jumin becoming a politician is so funny but ngl … i see it.

I was happy with how they handled it for the most part. I think Cheritz heard our feedback about V’s after ending and was like okay….let’s try something different

HOWEVER

Saeran…. Sweet kind saeran… IS SO AFFECTIONATE HAHA….

He must have said I love you like 300 times…..very mushy gushy flowery language...and maybe that’s just his personality but for me it was like eating cake with buttercream cake. It means well, but god damn is it sugary and going to cause a stomach ache later.

He was just… SO MUCH! SO forward and ON all the time in his affections. I honestly felt kind of smothered and by day 3 and 4 I was sooooo over all the compliments… King you’ve come a very long way, but ur still putting MC on a pedestal and probably need to see a therapist.

Nextly….Rika and V….. Naw that knock out gas really ...that hurt lol. Coming from “I would do anything to protect RFA” V? Idk like…. EYE felt betrayed reading that. It was just hurtful. I can’t even imagine how the members would have felt as they were passing out. It was just so cruel. I suppose I understand why but like?? Just TERRIBLE

Them being in cahoots with the agency and the prime minister..HUH??? Also too much

V just felt so irresponsible like I do understand that he ended up in a weird web of secrets that’s hard to untangle but he’s so fucking stubborn he’s SO stubborn it makes me insane. The forgiveness thing…… Okay so I think some people will not like that Saeran decided to “forgive” the people who hurt him (Rika, V, Saejoong, his mother). I would point out that I actually think this was approached somewhat well. He says at one point that he doesn’t think they’re good or bad, just people. I think he sounded mature and like this was the way for him personally to accomplish his healing process. Would I have loved for Saeran to flip V and Rika off and kick Saejoong off a cliff? Yea I really would. But like…. If that’s what HE needs to do to heal then who am I to judge?

HOWEVER…. Everything Eye just said goes out the window when the scenes at the end with Saejoong come up… I was PERPLEXED. Like why did he HUG his deranged father who just kicked the shit out of him??? Also all the chat options that MC has with him r like blah blah you’re like this because no one loves you were so corny to me LMFAOOOO?

this isn’t CM related or anything but i just wanna rant ig lol.

okay so about two years ago i weighed a lot more than i do now. i was around 15/16 years old. i developed and was diagnosed an eating disorder which had caused me to lose a lot of weight in under a year.

(along with that i have diagnosed depression and anxiety disorders as well.) anyways, i found a photo of myself from two years ago and i was showing some of my friends and coworkers.

in my brain, i know i didn’t lose that weight in a healthy way, and it took a toll on my health, near to hospitalisation. i went to therapy and i still deal with it every day. i still get sick and i still get faint due to the issues my eating habits caused.

i had found a photo of myself from before i developed the eating disorder, and i was so shocked at how i looked i decided to show my friends and coworkers. while i was showing people this photo, all i got were compliments on how “good a job” i did at losing that weight. someone said “i’m proud of you” and “you’ve had such a glowup since then,” “i wish i could do that!”.

how do i reply to that? it took me a second to process someone saying “im proud of you,” and i let out a late “…thank you.”

like… i don’t think people realise that i’m not proud of myself nor does it make me feel better that i did this type of damage to myself. i don’t think they realise all of the issues i have that they can’t see. and i know i can’t expect that, but it just makes me feel weird. like why am i being congratulated on being unhealthy?

i know it comes with the dumbest societal view EVER that being skinny= healthy/pretty, which is an awful mindset and hopefully we grow as a society and we can morph that view into something better.

anyways, people dont see the countless nights sleeping on the bathroom floor, clumps of hair in my hands, the bruising, improper blood flow, unable to think straight, unable to lift my arms, nearly collapsing at work or in front of my little brothers.

i risk my life to get my weight down because i’m so insecure. i’m a hypocrite who tells people that it gets better, i give them advice on how to do better, but i can’t even listen to my own advice. i’m working through it, i’m trying. they were going to send me to hospital where they like put you in a room on a controlled diet thing ??? for like a month but i can’t afford that- also i just don’t want to do that in general.

i don’t really care if people read this but it’s nice for rant to people who don’t know who i am nor people who can perceive me in a way irl people can.
