Heartbeat

In the tub, Vash sits curled up against a dark background, before eventually lifting his head and unfurling himself as the background grows lighter.

He twists around to turn off the shower and then looks at the floor, going, "Ah." He sits, thinking, before calling out "Wolfwood?". A sleepy Wolfwood replies, "…yeah?" from offscreen. "I forgot my towel!" Vash exclaims. "Ugh, look under your change of clothes… Knew you'd forget so I left it there…" a grouchy Wolfwood replies. "Gee, thanks!" Vash replies, a cartoony doodle of him saying "so reliable!".

Vash, shirtless but with sleep pants on, opens the door, towel draped over his head, to see Wolfwood, reclining on the bed. Wolfwood's smoking and holding his rosary, lit by the light from the bathroom. Vash climbs into bed next to him, towel still around his shoulders, and rests his head on Wolfwood's chest. His eyes close and then open to see Wolfwood watching him. Vash exclaims, "Oh! It's speeding up!, and Wolfwood bonks him on the head before saying, "Get on here since ya wanna be so up close 'n personal!". The two tussle briefly and Vash laughs before Wolfwood tucks the blanket around them. Wolfwood continues to smoke as Vash curls up against his chest and listens to his heartbeat, the background turning black once again as he smiles, content. /end id]

No but serious question is buck a few new fun ornaments every year kinda guy so the tree looks like a scrap book or does clipboard buck come back and it’s only plain round ornaments evenly distributed in a colour scheme

i think he’s more of a homemade/special ornament type of guy and i have a specific reason that idk if i can explain properly, but i’m hoping that it’ll make sense anyway

so, we all know how buck’s childhood was, and remember the whole baby box thing and the part in buck begins where they said that the buckley parents got rid of everything of daniel’s. so i think because of all that, his parents probably did do christmas, because not doing it would be insane (and “they’re not bad people”), but it wasn’t necessarily something joyous, it almost seemed like a chore (if that makes sense??), and buck could definitely sense that.

so i think now that he has a family with maddie and the 118, he loves almost over-celebrating christmas. he’s all homemade ornaments, and decorations with special meaning and stuff? idk. i think he sees it as a time to make memories and spend time with his family, and his tree is an extension of that.

i think his tree would be completely mismatched, but it’s just such a good reminder for him that he has a family now, and that the holidays aren’t something to simply endure, but to relish in. i think every year he’d love that the ornaments are in different spots, and he can see all the new ornaments that have been added because it’s a visual confirmation that his family is growing and changing, but it’s still his family, and they still love each other just as much.

and plus he gets to get clipboard buck out of his system with the firehouse christmas tree because that one is all generic circular ornaments and he can boss people around lol

He definitely is having a crisis, we are just about at the point where Toji fully realizes that you do not want him for anything but his care of your creature. You don't want him for his body, or his strength. You don't want to use him. You're genuinely just grateful for his help and willingness to care for your baby.

Toji has not been cared for in this way in a very long time, so I imagine he gives a lot of thought to you in his free time (while at your place or his, you're on his mind pretty frequently). Coming to terms with it. In some way, he feels vulnerable in your care (making him want to pull back) but also, he takes comfort in knowing that your intentions are fully pure.
